Recensioni di Giovanni’s Brooklyn Eats Brooklyn
Excellent Italian restaurant with a great vegan and vegetarian options. I loved my vegan breakfast sandwich at our weekend brunch. The bottomless mimosas were awesome. Service was excellent. Everything was wonderful.
Great neighborhood place. Lots of couples and families with kids ( we were there at 6:00, all the kids were really good). Staff were on point, service was great. chicken parm was great (doesn’t come w sides or pasta) Chicken marsala was great ( comes w mashed potato) Meatball app (mixed reviews, I liked and husband didn’t. ). Meatballs were very soft. Sauce on the meatballs and chicken parm were very good. Nice variety of dinner music. Singer and strings after 7:00 (maybe 6:30) was a nice touch. The best was the owner, Giovanni. He thanked us for coming as soon as we walked in. The nicest man, came to our table and was so friendly. My husband said he would go back even if he didn’t like the food, just because the owner was so nice. That really made a big difference. We don’t live in the neighborhood (live near mill basin) but Def will be back My only suggestion is Lower the volume on the dinner music, difficult to talk :)
There is true hospitality here. Dino the don and Giovanni is the dad and they do everything right here: the food is quality ingredients and I say this because you can taste it. My montipulchiano wine and Sardinian wine were top tier like when I go back to Italy to visit my cousins. The frito misto was amazing. Light and tasty. Good mix. Actually outstanding just like the table salad. Best I ever had. The fried zucchini flowers were so yummy like zeppoli almost. The vegetarian lasagna was the best I ever had in a restaurant. Seriously. The pasta was homemade and every layer was separate and well executed. Good pesto. The housemade squid ink pasta ravioli stuffed with lobster outstanding. Thh lobster was fresh. The lemon cello cake was the best dessert of my year. Live music. Friday and sat. We heard a great New Orleans band and got to hear Giovanni singing. What a treat. Packed out the door with people.
The best chicken parm. The Tuesday special is one that I’d come back to Brooklyn for. Incredible ambiance, the staff was great especially the sous servers cleaning up our plates shoutout to them for being so on top of it. Loved everything about this experience. If I’m ever back in town I’d love to bring a bigger group.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing experience at Giovanni’s Brooklyn Eats! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming the perfect blend of cozy and classic Brooklyn charm. The service was exceptional; everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food? Incredible. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor from the lobster pasta with fresh mussels to the pistachio cream puffs that were out of this world. We paired it with a lovely Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva that complemented the meal perfectly. If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in Brooklyn with amazing food, amazing service, and a genuinely inviting vibe, Giovanni’s is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back!
This family owned restaurant is a great place to enjoy great food and drinks. The owner and his son make you feel like family when you’re there at the restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. Me and my wife went there tonight. The pasta was delicious and the dessert special was the pistachio cream puff. It was to die for. If you’re in the area, you definitely have to go to this place .
We came in 10 minutes before the kitchen closed as a group of 8, a restaurant’s nightmare, but the staff was accommodating & great. The food was delicious. Some had seafood but most of us had pasta & everyone was thrilled. As a vegan, there were many options. I had the spaghetti ortolano without pecorino & loved it. Next time I will try to homemade limoncello!
Wonderful gem in the neighborhood. We have been dining here consistently for over a year now, both the brunch and dinner are excellent. We especially love coming Friday nights for live music. They recently had a fantastic porterhouse special, cooked and sliced perfectly with pasta and wine, as well as a unique clam gnocchi which was a favorite of our group. What makes this place even better is Giovanni himself, who is always so warm and welcoming, and made the night for my parents who were visiting from out of town. They already want to come back next time. You may even catch him singing a song on Friday!
I’m so happy Giovanni’s is back! I had the pleasure of attending the reopening at their new location across the street from the old one. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food is just as incredible as I remembered. The new décor is so classy and elegant—it really enhances the dining experience. I’m thrilled you’re back—congratulations! Cheers to many more meals and memories :)
Such a charming restaurant 😍. Went there on a Friday night with some co-workers. We were greeted by a band made up of 3 guys, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant was dimly lite, it had a romantic feel to it, it's the perfect spot for a date. The food was absolutely delicious, there were enough options on the menu, you couldn't possibly go hungry. I had the salmon with sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse cake. Everything tasted so good. There was a special dessert, it was bunt cake soaked in rum with cannoli cream, i was delicious. I will definitely go back to Giovanni's and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family
I came here for the first time yesterday for brunch because of all the rave reviews I read about this place on Facebook. I was surprised that the place was pretty empty when I walked in. It was probably because they just opened up. They have a pretty impressive menu and prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that is given. The only thing that I had a slight issue with is the Bloody Mary that came with my meal. Don't get me wrong, it was very tasty, but it seemed to lack in alcohol, which to me is the most important part of a Bloody Mary. I figured the drinks have to be a bit mild during brunch since the waitstaff keeps refilling your glass throughout the meal and they don't want people drunk early in the morning. My waitress was very friendly, bubbly and attentive. The restaurant itself is very clean and pretty. The food came out quickly with no wait time and it was really good, but it just needed a tad more salt. The bathroom "bagno" is also a bit on the dinky side. Overall, I enjoyed everything and look forward to stopping by again for a quick bite. Edit: I have to add an appendix to my original review since I have dined here several times since my first visit. The food and service is absolutely outstanding. I came here again for brunch and for dinner. Everything I have eaten was utterly fantastic. Even though we are in the middle of a pandemic and we have to eat outdoors, you feel comfortable with your surroundings while you eat. I will continue to support this wonderful restaurant. ❤
I love this restaurant.. the food is always good. The service is attentive without being pushy and servers hanging around all the time like creepy stalkers. They checked on you frequently but left you to enjoy your meal. And the meal was DIVINE. Its a neighborhood restaurant so expect the residents to reflect the diversity (or lack of) in the neighborhood... but I've never had an issue there and they are warm with all the guests.. on the Saturday i went to brunch there was a live jazz band. Nice stuff . Where can you get a 2 course brunch for 18.95? And the food is FILLING and DELICIOUS
We wanted to get a little taste of everything that was recommended. Some appetizers I would definitely order again and some I would not try again. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Good atmosphere and good food. The cocktails were delicious and a great selection. I would definitely go again
What a great local experience in Brooklyn! Staff squeezed us in last minute and I’m so happy they did. Live music, families chatting and laughing together while servers whisked around the room with plates of home cooked Italian American staples. It’s like the Brooklyn Italian restaurant this see on tv or in a movie. Verdict: would return and recommend!!
Really good food, but the service was almost nonexistent. We saw our waiter 3 times. No follow up, no refill, one forgotten item. It was bad. But, the menu is interesting and the food is better and more unique than your usual Italian restaurant.
Came here with my fiancée for her birthday and had an overall pleasant dining experience. We decided to take advantage of the plentiful outdoor seating. Host and server were very attentive and food came out within a reasonable time. The food itself was very flavorful, though we both had hoped that the portions were larger. Dessert was a good size however and was very good. The only other thing to note is that there is a credit card surcharge added, but if you bring cash you can probably avoid this. Overall a nice dining experience.
Used to come here all the time when it was at the other location, and was so happy to hear that they came back! We did the bottomless brunch on Valentine's Day weekend, with mimosas. The food was amazing, the portions were much larger than expected, and the drinks were coming at a good pace. Also want to shout out our waitress for paying attention to the allergy note we made on the reservation. After she took our order, she came back and mentioned one of the meals might have cross-contamination and wanted to double check! We ended up changing that order. Overall it was a great experience!
