This place is an institution. Coffee never misses, solid food menu, reasonable prices, and atmosphere is great for solo or group.
I was impressed with whiskey cake, so tasty and tender texture of dough mmm 🤤 Guys who served me was nice and smiley) I had a good and warm experience of visiting this place👌🏽☺️
Love this cafe! Get the broccoli ricotta sandwich and the breakfast sandwich. I was surprised by how much I loved the food! They make a nice iced oat latte!
Amazing 1/2 chicken with potatoes and fried broccoli. Good value since it was two meals for me. Quick for takeout and pleasant environment in which to wait for takeout or eat. The menu is not extensive, but I'd try some other dishes if I get the chance to go back.
Cute place. Had a nice brunch. Egg/avocado sandwich was messy but good!
This place makes some really hot and super tasty Americanos! Perhaps even better than Starbucks... ;) It's a busy place, but the cashiers/baristas I dealt with were awesome. Super friendly, professional, and served me up a couple of fantastic Americanos. Yes, I had 2. I have been rather sleep deprived daily since arriving in NYC (and it's been quite cold) so coffee has helped me feel warm and comfortable and a bit more awake in the mornings—providing I am outside. This is obviously a popular spot for coffee and food. The bar stools along the big windows provided a nice warm, sunny, and comfortable place to sit. They also have a nice patio area outside as well that looked super inviting, but the temperature when I went wasn't quite warm enough to be able to enjoy hot coffee outside. I'm sure I'll pop in for an Americano again here when I go to read Manga and other books at the nearby library. ❤️
I came here with friends for brunch, this place seems really popular. Lots of really good food options, and well made and presented and so we will come back for dinner. We tried the coffee and the avocado and egg sandwich which comes with a side of bacon but no plate, which was odd. It was a good portion of food too, and it was about $10. The food really shone here, so a good reason to come back and try more of the menu The space is very cool looking, they have a big island in the center for seating as well as smaller tables all around. A number of people had kids, so seems like younger families visit this place a good deal. The bean soup was also really well made and the coffee is at standard pricing, $2.25 for drip and about 4 for a latte. You order in the front and come back with a number for your table. Seems like a laid back place, no one rushes you to leave or pressures you for the table and you can sit there for a while.
Best rotisserie chicken sandwich I have had in this city hands down. Hands down! I love the look of this place, I love that it’s casual and delicious and cheap.
Stopped in on a hot afternoon after visiting the botanic garden. The watermelon agua fresca was the most refreshing drink I’ve had in a long time. Great low-key atmosphere with seating inside and out. Will be back to try their food!
Absolutely obsessed with their breakfast sandwiches. Best I've ever had. And for what you get, it's extremely reasonably priced. I try to limit myself to getting one only once a week... but it's hard :) Also good coffee, great service, and excellent vibes!
I had the egg sandwich with avocado added to it, and it was AMAZING! The roll was flaky and buttery, the eggs cooked just right, the avocado gave an additional twist on a classic sandwich. The coffee I had along with breakfast, was PERFECT. Milk/sugar/etc are on the side so u can customize. Also, try the Fentimans Rose Lemonade, you will thank me later!
By far my favorite coffee shop in Brooklyn. Space, direct sunlight, affordable and delicious meals, and generous looseleaf tea servings with hot water refills. I come here a few times a week with friends, it’s heaven.
Love this place! The best tasting coffee in town. Friendly personal and delicious food. Cozy, clean, only good vibes from this place. Definitely recommend to visit and try their coffee and any sandwich you choose, promise you will enjoy.
Really nice local coffee shop. The macchiato was excellent as was the raspberry bar. Cool vibe. Thanks.
My favorite fries in the neighborhood but could improve gluten free options.
Not to sound dramatic or anything but I think I had a spiritual experience with the broccoli ricotta ciabatta sandwich. Unreal. Changed my perspective about sandwiches. Whoever was cheffin it up this Saturday: congrats for being awesome! Good vibes in there too. Plus oodles of outdoor seating.
Love the kale salad, sandwiches, and coffee. Always lots of people here hanging out so it’s bustling. Also a nice place to work if you don’t mind some background noise. The service is friendly.
Delicious rotisserie chicken sandwich! Very calm and nice environment. Place is filled with young professionals working on their computers.
My husband and I have come here a few times for lunch after visiting the BK Botanical Gardens and sat outside to eat. We’ve ordered the burger, veggie sandwich, lentil soup and kale salad with chicken. Everything we’ve ordered here has been fresh and tasty, which keeps us coming back. The fries are especially good! Great go-to place for lunch if you’re in the area.
I like that this place opens early and closes at 9pm. The sandwiches are excellent (I particularly love the Broccoli & Ricotta and the Pulled Pork) although they are super greasy indeed. There are many seats at the small or communal tables and the outdoor terrace. Coffees are not too expensive. I tried the oatmeal once, it was not to my taste unfortunately (watery). Overall a great place!
Truly a good neighborhood lunch spot. The sandwiches are great, particularly the chicken sandwich, as well as the soups. The chocolate chunk banana bread is also great
At first I was nervous by the limited selection but boy do they know what they’re doing. I ordered the broccoli ricotta sandwich out of curiosity and it was game changing. Lemony, sweet and spicy with just the right amount of crunch. They also have fried broccoli as a side and if it’s prepared the same way that may become a new weekly staple. You can order meatballs as well- one for 3.50. They have a soup of the day that looked delicious. Will have to return for more.
I had stopped by after a long, long day. It had been several years since I last visited. I was greeted in a warm manner by a beautiful young man. I placed my order for take-out, but when the option was presented to stay or take-out, I smiled and opted to dine in. The meal was delicious. It was served hot and FRESHLY made. I treated myself to a slice of Carrot Cake, and it was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant was calm. Not too much noise or rumpus traffic. And, that was a relief and a welcome. To the entire staff, thank you kindly. I regret not knowing the associate at the counter that took my order. Nonetheless, he was gracious and a great representative of the restaurant. Thank you again...
Great food, very friendly staff. Limited seating and always crowded though, but can usually find a table. Especially good pulled pork sandwich or egg sandwich.
Norell was super friendly and a great barista! Would go back for the vibes
So glad we found this local gem after a visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden! The food is mouthwatering and the prices are right! My wife loved the avocado sandwich, I loved the chicken sandwich and my son said he had the best pulled pork sandwich ever! Also the raspberry shortbread was delicious! We already came back once and I’m sure we’ll be back many more times with friends!
Favorite local cafe!! Best experience for a coffee shop vibe with delicious and affordable coffee and food. WiFi available outside of lunchtime hours. Friendly environment.
Great coffee and friendly service. Pretty much a 1:1 ratio of coffee cups to laptops on weekdays, but the cafe reserves a few tables for unplugged patrons. There are several vegetarian sandwich options, but the standout is the broccoli sammie. The giant portion means you can share with a friend.
Food is great! Reasonable prices. Love coming here when I visit my niece and grand niece and nephew. They love the kids menu! The server has been the same for a few years. That means the restaurant has a loyal staff!!! She is wonderful.
Went in winter small place very crowded. Food was great service quick and they have outside tables and chairs during warm weather pork dish was good
This is my local spot! I come here for coffee, sandwiches, treats! It’s always a hit and everything is so good. A must go! Outside seating is so cute. Vibes are great inside. Watermelon juice is a hit!
This place is a vibe. The staff is always friendly. The place and bathroom is always clean. The variety of teas and coffee is on point. Good for all ages however it does get crowded and the line maybe long depending on the time.
Pulled pork sandwich was delicious. Orange poppy seed bread was yummy!
How is this place not more popular?? Perhaps the best kept secret in Prospect Heights. Already ate about half of the salad before snapping this photo (I ordered mine without croutons) so portions clearly sizable. Delivery always super fast and service dining in is just the same. A favorite.
I think this is the best café in the neighborhood. They have been around for a while, so they have their customer service system and food down pat. Their prices give you a very good value, considering how good the food is. I recommend the oatmeal, which is so decadent and hearty, and beautifully presented. The social scene is not overly sceney, which is refreshing. It’s a nice place with nice customers and employees. The drip coffee is okay, but at $2.50 it’s amazing. The bathroom is cold in the winter, so be ready for that, if you’re going to sit down. Overall, Lincoln Station accomplishes what most cafés cannot.
Food here is really good, not sure why I’m only now coming here after living so close for years. It definitely gets crowded so seats can be hard to come by and somewhat loud. But overall definitely worth visiting if your in the area or going to their Park Slope location on 7th which I’m sure will get crowded soon
The place is chill and warm, the staff is very welcoming. We had a breakfast sandwich and it was seriously good 👏🏻! The coffee was also delicious. They have shared inside sitting and tables on the outside too. We decided to sit on the little bar by the window and it was very comfortable. They offer free WiFi at the place.
While I seldom visit outside their busy lunch rush, their service is always impeccable, and I cannot recommend the lamb chili enough. This has been a reliable refuge for some cozy, warm food for me over the last few months. I forsee visiting until my work brings me elsewhere, and even then, I may have to come back just for a delicious serving of chili.
Very nice neighborhood coffee shop. Decent selection of food and coffee. They also serve wine and beer. But more than anything I love them for their atmosphere — people work and read and the place has a chill vibe.
Lovely little spot to work, hang or chill from. Cozy and perfect noise level for working or conversation. Great coffee and home made lunch / all day menu + happy hour!
Came here to try the broccoli ricotta sandwich and was not disappointed. At first bite it just seems like ricotta cheese and broccoli surrounded by a bun, but with each additional bite you discover new subtle flavors that merge together into something unique, something you’ve never tasted before. Highly recommend this one for anyone in the area.
The Lincoln Station is a wonderful neighborhood cafe located in Brooklyn, New York and one that has been open and proudly serving customers for over a decade. It offers guests a wide selection of freshly made cookies, cakes, delicious salads and sandwiches and beverages ranging from beer, coffee, soda, and wine. In February of 2019, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at the Lincoln Station and we loved our dining experience!!! We were warmly welcomed and treated very well by the restaurant’s staff and we enjoyed our meals. Both my wife and I found our sandwich meals to be well cooked, seasoned and delightfully delicious!!! What guests will also love about the Lincoln Station is its location. The cafe is very close to many of Brooklyn’s prominent attractions, ranging from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. When visiting Brooklyn, my wife and I highly recommend that you visit and dine at the Lincoln Station!!! You’ll very much enjoy their service and menu options!!!
I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile, and I finally got the chance to today! There was a line out the door, but it went so fast!!! I was so impressed by the swift service. I tried their breakfast sandwich (added bacon). It was absolutely scrumptious!!!!!! I also had to try their pastries. I got the almond cake and chocolate cake. The chocolate was good, however, the almond cake is a MUST. I can’t wait to come back! I would love to try their lunch menu and/or their rotisserie chicken.
The Cafe was crowded, and it was a hot day. The drink selection was varied and appealing. An outlet at the island to charge my phone was a great bonus! The food selection looked delicious.
This place is great! The atmosphere is on point. It’s a great place to get work done at an individual table or meet with a group at the large shared table. It’s so cozy and the music is great. The staff is always friendly and fun and helpful. I love their drink menu and they make a great Chai latte. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because the food is terrible. I’ve tried a couple different items off the menu, including both of their breakfast egg sandwiches and their pulled pork sandwich. The sandwiches just fall apart when you eat them. Sometimes the outside of the bun is coated in sticky cheese or there is so much oil running off the sandwich it can’t even be eaten because the bread is soaked through with oil.
awesome, go-to spot to do computer work in the area -- good food and great vibes. only thing has been some cold issues in the winter. I know they're replacing heating system now tho! (would also def recommend some way minimizing air flow , since door is opening all the time ... maybe a curtain, or even just fixing the door so it closes quickly. as it is, it's a slow shut every few minutes, letting a lot of cold air in.)
The space was nice - not the friendliest staff - kind of felt like I was bothering them- the fries and broccoli sandwich were delicious as was the pork sandwich and burgers were good- avocado sandwich was delicious. I think the options were great to meet all the tastes of the group. 4 minute walk from the botanical gardens washington entrance which was awesome.
If you are on a first date, don’t get the egg and avocado sandwich. The egg is soo drippy and slippery that it will slide out of your sandwich at every bite making you look like a toddler eating their first sandwich ever. I do wish it had some other ingredient to give it some substance rather a very soft egg and guacamole to give it something to chew on with a different texture. Ya know that I mean? Since the soft filling made it feel like I was eating mainly bread, I removed a slice and ate it like toast, was pretty good that way, the jalapeño was mild so it gave it just enough flavor. Coffee was good, the barista is a whole ninja, I’ve never seen a barista so relaxed during a weekend rush our. He was chilling while orders were being taken and he would wip them out so fast and was like “Is that all you got?” While waiting for the next order to be placed. I also got a chocolate chip cookie, it was gooey and crunchy in all the right places. Definitely tasted like a gourmet cookie. I’ll look forward to trying more sandwiches from this spot.
The food , service, and place is awesome. Love that chicken dinner and those breakfast sandwiches. We also love the pastries. Only hang up is… I think all of the milk-based coffee drinks, lattes, flat whites, and cappuccinos are seemingly the same. Drip, cold brew, and espressos are great!
Love coming to this place. I go with my wife at night but I have went a couple of times in the day and the service was off. The workers looked like they had a bad night. This isn’t really a problem if it was once but it is everytime. Other than this, this place is a must. You’ll be happy with the food and drinks.
nice little neighborhood spot to hangout for coffee and breakfast sandwich, i like the outdoor seating area
I’ve only gotten the sandwiches, but they’re all delicious and filling. The rotisserie chicken sandwich is probably their most popular and it’s most like a chicken salad sandwich, but really packed with slices of chicken. The avocado with cheddar and ricotta broccoli are both great vegetarian options. They have some great baked good options if you go in person; unfortunately they’re never there when you order to go.
Their food and service is great! Prices are reasonable for the area, a little on the high side but still very affordable. I enjoyed the fries and the burger and pulled pork sandwich were good. The kids grilled cheese was a little lacking in the cheese department but it is a kids meal so the kitchen is always less attentive to those. The matcha latte was not good. It's a trendy item to have in the menu and the drink looked good when I saw someone walk past with one so I took the risk. They store their matcha in a large, glass canning jar, which, if you know anything about matcha, is not good when exposed to light. It wasn't very well flavored or high quality so I wouldn't recommend.
Cute place with ample outdoor seating and decent espresso. Their yogurt granola parfait is also quite fresh and good. They currently do not have indoor seating. They don't have wi-fi on weekends, which was unfortunate as I went there to try to get a coffee + get some work done on my laptop.
I love this place. The breakfast sandwich is legendary(get the hot sauce), the pastries are excellent and the rotisserie chicken is a fantastic deal. Only thing that needs work is the coffee. Cold brew, drip and espresso are fine. Every other coffee drink is the same. Cappuccino/latte/flat white = coffee with steamed milk with no differentiation. I thought it was a one off but it’s happened multiple times. Other than that service is great and attentive. I miss the old sign. Was this beautiful welded piece with Edison bulbs.
A neighborhood favorite, the egg sandwich is so simple with its egg and cheese, but the bread and the eggs are always cooked perfectly. Roll is consistently so soft. $7 with tax and tip but it’s a nice treat. I’ve tried all the others in the area like Lulu Bagel, Colina Cuervo but they don’t compare. Some indoor high chairs and a few tables outside. Seems like a popular date spot or casual hangout with friends.
Had the fried broccoli sandwich which is super filling and a solid comfort food. It's got cheese so is not vegan. The sandwich is nicely seasoned with spice and definitely has tons of broccoli. Probably would be an ideal sharing item for two if not too hungry. The only downside is it's super greasy.
Atmosphere is great, food is decent. I ordered an egg sandwich with bacon well done. The bacon wasn’t well done and the sandwich was greasy. That was a turn down for me. I also ordered the avocado and egg sandwich which came on a multigrain bun. Not impressed, but good enough. The place got packed at around 10am (Sunday) there are plenty seats inside and outside. The place has a restaurant/casual bar vibe. Family friendly, as I saw couples with strollers.
Got the veggie avocado and cheese sandwich and a small of the crispy potatoes. But don’t be fooled, the small is MASSIVE. Do not order the large unless you are sharing with 5+ people.
Lincoln Station is a great spot to grab a breakfast sandwich and coffee. It really exudes that neighborhood feel and everytime I come here it feels good to be back. Would recommend if you’re in the area!
Really enjoyed the vegetarian avocado sandwich! 100000/10 high recommend. I actually think it’s might be the best veggie avocado sandwich I had. My friend and I went here for a work cafe date - so feel free to bring a laptop. No WiFi during the lunch rush (12-2) so unless you have a hotspot don’t come. I will say this place gets really busy and crowded. If you are someone who prefers a quieter environment I would not recommend.
Pros: - Friendly workers - Sunny, variety of seating (high stools, semi booth, circle low tables, outdoor) - laptop friendly (saw 2 people with one but not everyone) - cute family friendly vibe - people reading/eating solo on the bar tables Food: Got the Rotisserie chicken sandwich, which was almost $16 It was good, would be great if it came with fries (you have to order separate, if expect it included for that price) and or more leafy greens to balance the protein Cons: - Very narrow bathroom (wouldn’t fit a bigger person or wheelchair) - pricy for what you get - Crowded, might not be able to find seating especially on a wknd
I have gotten 4 sandwiches here: (1) Egg Sandwich - one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the neighborhood *when it is cooked as advertised (menu says sunny side up, but I find more often that the eggs are cooked hard and I am disappointed everytime); (2) Meatball - no notes, delicious as hell and bought this every week for a few months; (3) Rotisserie Chicken - nothing notable for me, kinda dry; (4) Avocado Egg Sandwich - nothing notable, I’d prefer different bread. Do NOT get the Chai Latte. Coffee is okay of what I remember, I prefer Most High on Washington though. Nice space to work though it gets fairly busy. I appreciate that they turn off the WiFi during lunch hours (12-2p).
Nice atmosphere, quick service. Ordered an oat cappuccino and found that it was mostly smooth. Appreciated the perfectly frothed milk (and the latte art). Came here because it was walking distance to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (where, you cannot bring visible outside food or drink -- just a heads up).
It’s a nice location with good options only thing is the counter workers are very passive. If you ask for the bathroom key or any suggestion you’ll be met with attitude. Not a space I can say I feel welcomed at.
The food is great but don’t get drinks here. The matcha always tastes off, the espresso is bad, and the barista didn’t tell me they don’t have vanilla syrup when I ordered a London Fog :( I wouldn’t have wasted $5 if I had known they couldn’t properly make the drink I ordered!
No complaints on the coffee and the breakfast sandwich I had, those were great, but if I spent close to $40 for 2 people, was told there is a designated laptop area to hang out in, and then wifi is turned off shortly after sitting down in order to discourage the laptop use they said was ok, that feels a bit misleading on the shop’s end. Just outright say we can’t be there with a laptop instead of letting people spend a bunch of money only to have to leave somewhere else 👎🏽😒
This place serves La Colombe coffee, which I usually like, but I wasn’t all that impressed with my espresso. Lots of seating, but the lighting is kinda dim if you’re trying to read, which I was, and the music is more of a distraction than a backdrop. Good, I guess, if you’re looking for outlets for your laptop. The decor could use an update, too. Who wants to stare at all the supply boxes?
I've been here a few times before and remember enjoying the food, but when I went in today, the smell of mildew/mold was so strong. I ended up getting a coffee and pastry and sitting outside. I'm guessing they have a moisture problem somewhere. Probably most people can't smell it, but I unfortunately have a strong sense of smell. Doesn't really make me want to eat there, or breath the air inside.
Came in this morning with my partner to grab some coffee. I come to this cafe for coffee all the time on my way to work & tell people frequently that they have the best latte in the neighborhood. My partner thought he ordered a latte, but must’ve accidentally said coffee. When I see him go up to politely say something to the guy at the register to switch it out, he rudely remarks how he ordered coffee (looking at my partner like he is stupid for being confused) & didn’t offer to instead get him what he intended to order. Even if it meant charging us the difference. There’s a way to go about honest miscommunications & that’s not it. Both of us are in the service industry & it is so utterly disappointing to see employees interact with guests like that, let alone be on the receiving end of it. What’s the price difference between a drip coffee & a latte? A couple of dollars? We would’ve gladly paid the price adjustment to have what we wanted. Working with guests to give them a happy experience can sometimes be a matter of having a sliver of empathy. Had to give two stars because not even the best latte can save underwhelming customer service. Now both of us are hesitant about coming back and definitely regret leaving the 22% gratuity.
the dude working the register today was in a BAD mood. I do not recommend the pulled pork sandwich. It wasn’t terrible, but I would never get it again. My friend loves this place so I will probably end up here again, but can’t say I’m looking forward to trying anything else. Especially when the cashier gave me a room temp root beer, then acted inconvenienced by my request for a cup of ice. I understand work sucks but dude. A cup of ice is not world-ending.
Once fresh bread seems to be an epidemic disease in this city. Here, like many places I visit, fresh seems to be the acceptable past tense of fresh. Your $11 plus plus salad sandwich is perfectly OK, but for the bread that seems to have been frozen about 18 hours after baking, then defrosted. It gets way better with the chicken soup which is the best use of past tense roasters I've ever had. The $8 chocolate cake is a disaster akin to the fall of Rome (aka 2022 nyc). The cocoa colour is just that, with a chemical fake chocolate flavour that is pure pre mix...I wish I had some soup left to remove that fission style decay of my palate. But the soup is great...
Visited this place for the first time the other day. I got the broccoli ricotta sandwich to go and it was delicious. BUT it was dripping with oil for some reason. Like a crazy amount, it dripped through the wrapper and through the paper bag. Then through a paper towel that I used to pat it down. Pic of the bottom of the bag by the time I got home. I don't know where it was all coming from. Hopefully they resolve this cause it was tasty.
This review is about sustainability only! 😌 I really love this coffee shop, as it is a warm and welcoming environment. But I was disheartened to see how much single use plastic was being used by patrons who were enjoying their meal at the shop, for here. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Plastics are made from fossil fuels, and leach chemicals into humans, wildlife, and our ecosystems alike. Each one and the same. Brooklyn is a waterfront city, and it is a shame that so many local establishments contribute to its local plastic pollution crisis, not to mention the global crisis at large. I think it is wonderful that you indeed have real mugs that you offer, signage by the bins, and even compostable cutlery. But it seems like over half of your patrons, have no idea that they can order their meal to stay. And of course, just because utensils are compostable doesn’t mean they get composted, especially when there is no actual Compost receptacle. Off to the landfill! Perhaps your barista’s could ask more explicitly, if customers will be enjoying their meal to stay. They could even say, would you like your coffee and a reusable mug to stay. You could even feature customers on social media who are enjoying their meal more sustainably.. Unfortunately, we are not going to see much on the policy front regarding the mitigation of plastic use and consumption. So it is up to our local vendors to help patrons do better by this planet. Thank you for your consideration to put up more signage or ask your customers more explicitly what they want.
I don’t know how this place has good reviews. I ordered an egg sandwich with bacon and what was advertised as a fresh squeezed OJ. When I saw the OJ being poured from a container, I asked and only then was told it was not fresh squeezed. I asked for a refund on that. Also the egg sandwich shows $7.25 on the menu +$2.50 for bacon. I was charged $9.75 for the sandwich and $2.50 for one slice of soaked in grease bacon! Terrible!
Literally watched a roach crawl out from inside the espresso machine :((( please do better
I went in there for the first time to grab breakfast and was excited to try them out since their Google reviews are great... but I was only disappointed in my breakfast. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese with avocado (two: one for myself and one for my husband) and two hot chocolates: needless to say the bacon egg and cheese was a disappointment. The bacon was undercooked and all you get is literally one strip of bacon. I paid around $40 and it was NOT worth it at all. The hot chocolate was alright but definitely not worth the price... it was not hot but warm... I called the order over the phone so I don't know what the service is like but when I walked in I did not feel welcomed. As far as the ambiance... it seemed chill when I walked in but again not too sure because I picked up and left.
