Really really cool Biergarten!! The beer is great, food is great, service is great, atmosphere great! Vibes immaculate Live music, will definitely be back
By far our fave beer garden in our visit to NYC, the atmosphere is amazing, peaceful, spacious, and accompanied by great music. The food is fresh and made to order, with excellent flavor and generous portions. The beers were outstanding.
Beers were great and the atmosphere is amazing. Probably super fun during Oktoberfest. They have a bratwurst stand in the back that has great brats and sausages and the bartenders were super nice. Later on in the night things got roudier and people were standing on top of the tables dancing. Super awesome vibe
My favorite beer and eats in the city! Having lived in Germany, this was great. The wurst is fantastic, and the beer selection was top notch.
Super fun German beer hall with plenty of space and a great beer selection. The service had been super friendly both times I’ve been there and there has also been live music during the day and night. Plenty of seating space indoor and outdoors, although the inside can get very crowded when busy. If you come here and order anything less than a liter of beer you’re not going to get the full experience!
It was a lot of fun! There were 9 of us and the quickly brought our beer and appetizers; there was very little wait. The beer was great - just what you would expect from a beer garden! And the food was excellent too. We tried a variety of brauts and all of them were good. Will definitely go back when I'm in the neighborhood!
Radegast Hall & Biergarten is an awesome spot with a lively, authentic beer hall. The beer selection is fantastic — lots of German and European options on tap, and the bartenders really know their stuff. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with communal tables, live music on some nights, and an open, rustic space that feels both cozy and energetic. The food is also on point — their bratwurst, pretzels, and sauerkraut are especially good. Perfect place to hang out with friends, grab a bite, and enjoy great beer. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a casual but quality experience.
Radegast might be my favorite European beer garden. The atmosphere is great with seating both inside as well as an open airy side room and there is live music on Fridays and on weekends. The servers are usually busy as the place can get pretty crowded since it’s a popular neighborhood dig and frequented by many tourists, but you can seat yourself. There is great variety of European beers and the variety of smoke fired sausage from the outside grill inclusive of brat, currywurst, and kilbasa. There are some good menu options, I love the schnitzel! From time to time they have some game meat such as rabbit, venison and buffalo. I would highly recommend this place especially for a group outing with friends or even coworkers.
Went there for a sponsored conference private party. Loved it. great atmosphere, awesome music and authentic German food and beers. They also have 0.0% NA German beers!
One of my favorite places in Brooklyn to have a beer during summer time, it's been probably around 6 years since the last time I was there and the service was even better now. The 2 bartenders during the Euro 2024 Germany game really amazed me how well they served in such a busy environment.
Saturday afternoon live brass band is such a fun time! A few tips: 1. It gets hot in there - dress accordingly. Little to no AC and weak fans. In summer/fall you (and everyone else) will sweat. 2. Likely that for the live performance all of the tables will be reserved by large groups in advance. If you’re 2-4 people, likely to be able to just squeeze or dance your way into a table or group. Every reservation of 25 people is bound to have flakes. 3. Grill in the back is awesome - delicious meats and fries and quick orders.
What a fun place! I guess we got there early, on Saturday at 1pm. There were plenty of seating available and we were able to enjoy our beer to cool down the heat. Excellent music. We didn’t eat, but the menu looks very appealing. We came back several hour later and it was impossible to enter. The place was totally packed and a live band was playing.
Amazing selection of Oktoberfest beers. Full bar. I only drank and had the pretzel with beer cheese, 100% must order. Rest of menu looked amazing. Fun bartenders, despite how packed it was, they were all very attentive. Huge space, multiple large party tables inside, multiple mixed party seating tables for about 20 in secondary hall with secondary smaller bar. Outdoor seating as well for about 6-10 if you want to get cozy. After 1pm on Saturday October 1 there was a massive line, be prepared during Oktoberfest for this. Will return, hands down.
Spacious, excellent food and friendly staff. Indoor in winter with outdoor seating available in warmer months.
I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH. The vibes are amazing and the people that work here. I lost my AirPods here one night out and a few days later I track them and they kept them safe and charged. I wish I could give this place more than five stars the service here is above and beyond. Thank you guys for being so awesome.
Radegast Hall has always been one of my favorites in NYC. The beer hall and restaurant are so big they can accommodate big or small groups. I had my last minute birthday celebration there and it was the perfect spot for so many reasons. (You'd understand if you live in NYC). I wish they would waive the cake cutting fee for a large group that spent a substantial amount of money.
I’m in love with this place! I don’t live near by but I’ll definitely come back often especially now during the summer. The beers are amazing and the food (veal schnitzel meal is my favorite) is delicious! The environment is very cool and love the playlist playing there. The service is also 5 stars for me.
Best place in the neighborhood for watching sporting events and rowdy nights. I came here for the Eurocup game between England and Italy, it was an amazing time. Long, solid wood tables that are perfect for getting a large group together. The entire hall was filled with people cheering and hollering, so expect a lively atmosphere. Other notes? Service was good, but they can get overwhelmed on big events: get there early and be prepared to save a spot and get your beer/food early. You might not be able to flag a waiter after. Food wise? Delicious! We’re shared the giant Bavarian pretzel, fries, and more. My friend ordered the currywurst and died/went to heaven upon first bite. The french fries were also made to perfection. Bottom line? Add this place to your Williamsburg Bar Hop NOW
Radegast Biergarten is the perfect partner for our Shoptoberfest event. Shopware has hosted here for several years, and every time, the experience is outstanding. The entire staff goes above and beyond, truly investing in the success of our program and making our guests feel welcome. From the atmosphere to the food and service, everything runs seamlessly. We’re grateful for their dedication and couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate community and commerce.
This place has become our new favorite beer garden! Our server (Jonah) was fabulous! He treated a group of 7 of us so great! We got the pretzel and it was delicious. We arrived at around 1:00 on a Sunday and it wasn’t packed so we were seated right away. By 2:30 it was packed and people had to stand in some areas so maybe arrive a little earlier than that if you want to sit. But definitely a great experience and I know I’ll be back
Really fun place with cool-vibe. Huge selection of beers and other drinks, nice food menu with desert options, also there is a grill corner where you can get amazing sausages or burger with few kinds of different mustard. Crispy fries and really good sauerkraut. Our server Nour was super friendly and cool, place was busy and very fun, even though it does get pretty loud in there. Great place to visit f you’re in the neighbourhood.
As a person that lives in Munich, omg that was the best place! Amazing music, strong drinks, incredibly atmosphere!! Will definitely go there again!
We did not eat here so food comment is only about the beer. Vast open biergarten set in an old warehouse, we went for beers on a lazy Sunday night. More expensive than Brooklyn Brewery but a lot nicer atmosphere inside. They do have a standard selection of hard liquor, not extensive, but enough to explore if that suits you better. They seem to go from feast to famine: lineup on Saturday but not a soul there on Sunday. Recommended P.S.: please leave a ❤️ if this review helped you in your search, thanks 🙏
Went here with friends for brunch! Was able to easily modify a salad and the avocado toast to be vegan - it would be great if Radegast could put this on the menu as an option, would set it apart from other beer halls. The atmosphere was nice, it was pretty quiet when we arrived but started to get busier around 2pm. The beers were really good!
I did not realize that there were excellent Biergartens in NYC. Radegast is definitely up there in terms of service, atmosphere, and food. We were able to get a giant eight Cedar table outside of the restaurant, and there was a QR code on the tables that let you individually open tabs in order food. Note that if you want any of the grill options, you have to physically walk inside to the grill and order separately from there. The grill has a lot of good options ranging from different types of sausages to sides like French fries. They are freshly made delicious. You can buy an aïoli to go beautifully with the grilled items, or you can grab any one of the free condiments on the side of the grill. I would also highly recommend getting their french fries. These might be some of the best french fries you will find in New York City! We also got their pretzel with beer cheese, mustard, and a pickle. My only critique would be that the beer cheese is lacking. It needs something more because in its current form, it is pretty flavorless and too watery. The pitchers of beers for $20 is an excellent price! The pitchers are easily at least 60 ounces! It filled up over 3 glasses. Their wheat beer is excellent and pairs really well with the foods they serve.
Fantastic spot to have a beer and relax. Servers were very attentive and friendly. We went mid afternoon on a Friday with 9 people and it wasn’t that busy. Grabbed a few pitchers and ordered food. The food was the best part of the entire experience. Absolutely amazing sausage and house made dipping sauces. If you are reading this review, you should definitely go here!!
We had our wedding reception at Radegast and the experience was amazing! Sean and his team are wonderful to work with, did not bat an eye at things like having handles of traditional Polish bison grass vodka on the tables. Sean recommended DJ Nique who was the absolute best, I have never seen my normally laidback and dancing-shy friends burn up the floor like that! Also, everyone told us afterwards how great the food and service was, they thought maybe we had catered from outside and we told them Radegast has an amazing full menu, and Chef was super accommodating when we requested to have pierogi and potstickers served together! Normally I would keep this a secret but I guess I am not having another wedding any time soon so for all you engaged folks out there, stop looking, this is your venue!
Redegast is my go-to spot in Brooklyn for music. The live bands are consistently great, and the DJs are just as fun. I’ve been on nights with a real Afro-punk vibe where the room is packed, the energy is high, and everyone is fully there for the music. You can feel that the bookings are curated with intention, and it shows. Shoutout to Feather Bowler for keeping the lineup so strong. Quick side note, the beef tartare is amazing 🤩
Place instantly transports you to Germany with a great vibe, huge beers, banging tunes, and a very large space to bring a group of any size to get after it. We held a 50+ person party in the area closest to the grill in the large room and the staff were absolutely excellent throughout the night. Can’t recommend enough.
This is a great place to hang out and have a meal with friends. You can try a variety of dishes and sausages — their sausages are excellent, and the beer is refreshing. The other food is also quite good. The only downside is that it’s more like a self-service restaurant, as there aren’t many waitstaff, and you have to go to a separate counter to order the sausages.
We hosted our son’s first birthday here in December and had a great experience! Sean and his team were incredible! The amount of compliments we got on the food, the drinks, and how good looking the staff is was insane!!!! I appreciated his availability, flexibility, communication and shared vision! It was important for us to feel that it wasn’t strictly a children’s party and getting compliments from adults that they both had fun was great! The space was perfect for our winter theme and the food was great! Sean was able to accommodate all dietary needs and make modifications and no one was left hungry. We were able to fit a massive balloon display, a play area for kids, an arts table and there was still plenty of room to sit and eat.
We were in Brooklyn for just 4 days and went here twice. First time we had already eaten but the food looked so good we went back. Great vibe and even more amazing staff. Great beers on tap. We have been to Belgium and have also had our fair share of German beers on tap but this place has ones we have never seen on tap at least in the US. The servers know their beer which was awesome. Also there were no kids and apparently there are days where they don’t allow kids. When we are drinking beer we appreciate this. Would highly recommend this place
Sean & the Radegast team, Thank you so much for an amazing night. You truly executed the vision and surpassed any expectations we had. All of my guests had compliments on the food, cocktails, and of course the huge selection of beer! The atmosphere was nothing like any other wedding guests had been to. It was intimate, fun, and romantic. 💗
Fun atmosphere for large groups of all ages! Fresh beer and lots of prosecco for aperol sprites! Bratwurst, sausages and pretzels were yummy!! Brass Monkeys were playing and kept the room lively.
Great architecture and design. I love that you can walk up to the grill and get sausage, they have a table full of mustards and horseradish. We saw a Lecture on Tap here. Very cool venue. I don’t drink but people were living their beer, giant pretzels and food.
This place was a lot of fun! My boyfriend and I went twice, once during the early afternoon during a week day and again on a Thursday night. It was a chill place for an afternoon beer and a vibrant bar/restaurant in the evening. The staff were extremely attentive and they have amazing beers on tap from all over the world.

Yeah most people in Williamsburg know about this place, but that doesn't make it any less great. I love the German Beer, food, and look of the place. Tried the steak tartare today, it was great.

Authentic German Biergarten with an outstanding beer selection. You can order beers in one liter steins. Radegast features long family style tables which add to the atmosphere. They also have a grill which prepares a variety of German sausages. Great option for larger groups or watching soccer games (the atmosphere is perfect for soccer).
The grilled sausages can be made better if they are not so charred. Good thing is there are plentiful of beer to go around and a live band to cover up the charred sausages. They still taste good but it could be better... There are so many beers to select that you can spend forever just looking at the menu. It’s a huge place with long communal tables which makes a great place to hang out with friends. The whole place reminds me of the HB keg house at Munich.
This place is pretty great! The beer is a great price and is delicious, the atmosphere is even better!! My one complaint was the price of the food, it’s nothing too special but is pretty pricey. I wound up only getting a pretzel and a beer, total was $26 which is a lot for one beer and an appetizer.
I went to this bar 10 years ago and one of my friends wanted to meet me here so, it was good to see how this place goes. I mostly came at late night but this time it was late afternoon, so it was different vibes and energy. We enjoyed live music and the band played very well. We had couple drinks before we went to next place. This bar reminded me when the time, I went out party almost every night.
A gregarious fun venue with plenty of tables & long benches both inside and outside for large groups, a few small tables & chairs for small groups. Good variety of authentic Bavarian German Biers & Grilled Wursts, sausages, in addition to other menu items. Get the Giant pretzel 🥨 with yummy beer cheese dip. 🥨 🍺 Darkly lit, Loud, Live Band 🎶🎸, Good times! Prost!! 🍻 🍻 🎊🇩🇪
We have been to Radegast hall with friends for the first time. Much European vibe. Among very few places you may find weissbier/unfiltered wheat beer, and almost felt as I was at a bier house in munich. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Good food, I recommend pretsel with bier chese and sausages, bier is more reasonable by pitcher. I chıse Fransiskaner white beer, one of my favorites. There was also live jazz music indoors, also audible from outdoor seatings. I recommend here
First time eating here. I love the covered outdoor dining hall area! Our waitstaff was new and it was rare that they stopped by the table to check on our needs. The grill staff was not readily available when one of us wanted to place an order. Food was good overall. The atmosphere is a winner. I would cone back and try again.
I had a good time here. On their brunch menu, I had a pretzel and lager beer. I enjoyed the pretzel, which came out hot with some sauces. The beer (lager and dark), of course was on point. I tried their kielbasa ( a type of sausage) on their grill menu ( you had to get up, order and pay separately, which I thought was inconvenient). But I enjoyed the smokiness and how juicy it was. It came with crispy fries and horseradish. The horseradish didn’t have the kick I was expecting, quick mild. We later came back to try the bone marrow, first time, and it was sublime. To be honest, I was unsure of the texture, but to my surprise it was smooth and creamy with a lot of juices. Great to spread on toast and top off with their relish. We sat outside and enjoyed our meals. The service was polite, friendly, efficient (because it can be very busy at dinner time) and they wore masks. The price was worth the experience and quality. Would come back!

Ideal place for a happy hour or day drink hangout spot. Beer selection is excellent. Although a little on the pricier end.
Excellent German beer options... solid food. Very young crowd on a Saturday but enjoyable/respectful people. Service was very helpful... prices average for Williamsburg.
The beer is good. The huge tables are great. There has been a lot of PDA. The music is way, way too loud.
Nice and spacious beer garden with a great atmosphere. If you’re planning a celebration, just be aware they charge $3 per person if you bring a cake, something I wish I had known beforehand! The menu is on the pricey side, but they offer a solid selection of beers. Live music is featured often, which adds to the overall vibe.
Food was pretty good, currywurst was my favorite, but service was very lacking the night we went. Waitress disappeared and never took our food order, had to track down someone. Beer took really long to come out. They were playing very loud Latin music, which is an odd choice for a German beer hall. May have just been an off day
We came in at a busy-ish time ~8pm on a Saturday, but there were still a good amount of open seats. Beer was good and music was fine, but sitting at the bar we noticed a lot of incompetence from the staff the whole time we were there. Our experience was fine ordering our two drinks and closing out immediately after, but there were lots of people / groups of people always trying to get the attention of a bartender to close out and it was pretty obvious most of them wanted to simply ignore any guest seeking their attention. And most of the time when I saw that the staff member ignoring the guest wasn’t even busy. There was a lot of talking and laughing and showing each other stuff from their phone, and sometimes making jokes or comments about other guests or coworkers, and then the impatient eye-roll kind of annoyance whenever a guest tried to get their attention. It made sitting at the bar a bit uncomfortable especially when we first arrived when two guys offered us their two bar seats before they had closed their tab but then the bartender was pretty rude to them because he mis-heard their name 3 times and couldnt find their card to close out snd got annoyed at them even though they said it 3x clearly and spelled it out for him. And at another point the same bartender was rudely accusing a pair of guests sitting near us saying they hadn’t closed out their tab, when they had just closed their tab and signed and tipped like two minutes prior. And another bartender pretended to ignore a guest that was literally handing him a cash tip and shook his head no without even looking up at the guest because he thought he was trying to get his attention to close out 🤷🏻♂️ but I can’t fully blame the bartenders because it’s more likely they just don’t get paid a living wage by their employer or get health benefits so maybe we should just stop supporting this establishment
I love this place. I’ve been going every Saturday with friends for years. Food was always consistent and service is great. However this past Saturday I went and tried ordering from the grill. I noticed that the person working the grill used the same tongs for the RAW chicken to serve the sausages and other grill items on the menu. I was shocked and so grossed out because I watched him do it over and over while I was waiting in line. I finally exited the line and we didn’t order food. Other than that, drinks are great and wait staff is kind. Place gets packed real quick and ppl stand on the table tops you eat on to dance.
I went here when it opened. It was ok. One of the, then owners used to be a bartender at a polish disco/ bar straight out of 80s communist block. And then I would come by from time to time. Last time…

Big No, it was a bad experience, seeing the cook touching the food with his hands without gloves after touching money and credit cards was not nice.
Big No, it was a bad experience, seeing the cook touching the food with his hands without gloves after touching money and credit cards was not nice.
Please be aware the outdoor seating closes at 11:30. Radegast management allowed us to spend $200 at an outdoor table on food and bev minutes before they closed the tables and forced us to find a spot inside where people were dancing on the tables. Terrible. Used to love this place.
We were turned away at the door after presenting a valid digital ID. The security man working the entrance refused to accept it and the interaction felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. When we brought this to the manager’s attention, they chose not to assist or address the issue.manager 👎,ID man-👎 A situation like this should have been handled better.
I have never met such a stupid management..! We spent 45 minutes to get to this establishment in such snowy weather, and at the entrance the security guard said that he does not accept ID or passport in electronic form..! 21st century on the street of New York.. called the manager, and the manager turned out to be even more stupid than the security guard himself! The manager asks the security guard if we can come in))) the security guard answers, no! It looked ridiculous and racist! And not far away in another establishment, ID and passport in electronic form are no problem..!
Terrible management and hospitality. They discriminate against people with service dogs. It doesn’t take 3 people including management to make a scene and ask more than they are legally allowed to in order to verify an animal is a service animal. Great everything except for staff which needs to be retrained properly. Manager was on duty in the afternoon today male. Also male with glasses and beard was telling me my psychiatric assistance dog isn’t a service dog and not allowed. Manager also did nothing to fix the issue besides back up the fact their employees need to make sure dogs are actually service dogs. Follow up on this would be appreciated.
Brought some friends from out of town here because they love beer and bratwurst. Friday night but found seats at the bar for us three which was awesome. Not a nod or a sign the older 5'5 bartender with the glasses even ACTED like he recognized us. We had to ask someone for a menu. Figured what we wanted. He took care of the couple to our right. Some girls came after us and he took care of them to our left. We waited over 10-15 mins for him to even acknowledge us and nothing. After the girls, he decided to take care of a guy who was next to them who JUST walked to the bar. We were ready to have a blast with the band, big beers and I felt like an idiot suggesting this place to my friends. We just got our coats and left. And I'm pretty sure he STILL didn't recognize we left. We're all chefs, bartenders and bar owners and were ready to spend and tip. Horrible experience.
We were really hopeful about about this place because the atmosphere looked great, but our experience was frustrating. When we went to order, the bartender was pretty rude. We asked for a pitcher, and he just snapped, “We’re not doing pitchers right now,” with no reason given. I tried ordering a non-alcoholic drink for my pregnant friend, and he said, “We’re only doing beer,” even though I could see ingredients for other drinks right behind him. Fine, we asked for simple light beers, but he just scoffed at us because we didn’t know the specific names. He poured them but made us feel unwelcome the whole time. Then, despite the place being open until 3 AM on Google, they started pushing people out early. Bouncers were nudging people to wrap up around 1 AM, and by 2 AM, everyone was being forced out, even though the closing time was supposed to be later. It’s one thing to close early, but they should update their hours if that’s how they operate. Overall, it was just rude service and misleading hours.
1 out of 5 stars The food was good, but that’s about the only positive thing I can say. The music was absurdly loud. Easily 100 decibels, hearing damage level loud. They had speakers blasting in every corner of the place even though the DJ booth wasn’t even in the main area. We asked four different times for them to turn it down. Four times. They didn’t accommodate any single time even though they said they would “check”. It was so loud I couldn’t even have a conversation with my friends. You could see everyone in the room was frustrated. People were leaving, the crowd thinned out to just a handful of people, and still they wouldn’t turn it down. They were blasting music for an audience that clearly wasn’t enjoying it. On top of that, the vibe was off. Lots of creepy older men trying to hit on younger women. Service was poor and they were completely unaccommodating. Not worth it. Save your ears and go somewhere else.
We drove 45 minutes as a group of 7 people to celebrate a farewell for a close friend, only to have the entire night ruined at the door. One person in our group was denied entry for not having a physical photo ID, even though this is New York, where digital alternatives and common sense should exist—especially for a restaurant setting. There was zero flexibility, no attempt to help, and no empathy for the situation. We explained that we had traveled far and that this was a special occasion for our group, but the staff didn’t care at all. The attitude was cold and dismissive, and it felt like we were treated as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Thankfully, we ended up at a nice, warm brewery — shout out to Other Half Brewing — that actually understood the situation and let us in by simply showing a digital ID. That’s how hospitality should work.
