I have been to Alton's many times and the food and service is amazing. They have a varied menu to choose from and I have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Alton’s was a great place. It had very good food and good, fast service. The waitress was friendly and speedy, and I enjoyed the casual yet elegant atmosphere. One of the Greek dressings was a little bit off in terms of how it tasted but we swapped it out with another quickly. The food was terrific—I had meatball soup and fettuccine Alfredo.
We highly recommend Alton's (either location), and look forward to our next visit! Dining with a toddler is not for the faint of heart, but the staff tonight in Cheektowaga was superb! A special shout-out to Ms. Hopper for greeting us with kindness and helping our son feel welcomed and calm after his little meltdown in the vestibule, and to our server (my apologies for not remembering her name) for her most excellent customer service. The food was fantastic (as always), generously portioned, and priced well. Always a pleasant experience!
The food tasted amazing. I was just driving by and saw this restaurant and decided to stop in. Best decision of my life. Food was great and our server was phenomenal, I think her name was shiela. Will definitely be coming in again!
Great option for a family of four, everyone got something totally different. Food was average but extremely well priced. Gluten and dairy free sirloin steak was fine.
Good food especially enjoyed the baklava cheesecake, other deserts looked good to. Friendly waitress.
The best food, homemade and always fresh and delicious. Servers are wonderful. Family atmosphere, clean, reasonable prices. Absolutely worth it!
*Excellent* service during a very busy brunch service. Food was great too. Deservedly a very popular spot. Will gladly come back.
Great all day breakfast. French toast is awesome. Staff super friendly and fast. Prices are great and portions healthy.
Good food and friendly staff. Standard diner setup. Only negative is their weird time constraints on when Holidaise being served (cut off is noon). I find the truly weird... especially giving how most people brunch well after noon on Saturdays and Sundays. I would strong suggest extending services hours to at least 2pm or 3pm.
Even though we were the last customers of the evening, our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice dining experience. She kept fresh coffee flowing, the salad was slammin, and our entrees hit the proverbial "spot"!! I enjoyed my salmon and baked potato with salad and veggies - my companion had a specialty omelette of his own imagination with corned beef hash ... they accomodated every request and even comped us apple pie 😋😎 ... I hope management leaves the service to the servers ... they do a phenomenal job - with just the right amount of TLC.
This was such a good meal, it has to be sinnful. It was chicken souvlaki, served with Greek taters and a pita and some dill sauce. The cook won this round, I could not finish all my supper, no dessert for me. Maybe next time. Lastly, the staff worked well to assure all the customers were well satisfied. They operated like a well oiled olive press. After all, it is a Greek place, gotta have that O oil.
We visited the area and decided to give it a try. The menu has a large variety, our server Chelsea was great, and the food came out fast. We got the sampler appetizer, and it came with chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, onion rings, and some type of peperoni pizza egg rolls. For dinner, we had grilled cheese and chicken soulvacki melt. Everything was prepared well and came out hot.
My family and I enjoyed our food so much. I ordered my eggs well done and they actually made them well done! Cureene (forgive any misspelling) she was a delight, so attentive and very pleasant! If we ever go back to Buffalo, this is our spot! Thank you so much!
Food was very good. Server was very nice and quick to offer refills and take our order.
I love Alton’s! It has been a classic for years and never disappoints!! Went the other day and got the Beef Souvlaki. Perfection!!
Love their open chicken souvlaki and our server was very pleasant and helpful.
This used to be a go-to in my 20s and haven’t been here in ages. Was scrolling for takeout that didn’t do just breakfast in the AM and stumbled on it. Greatest decision. Their fries are fire. Especially with the dill sauce you can only seem to get at these kinds of restaurants. Only thing that was a bummer I put in a request for the sauce in the sandwich to be left off and it wasn’t. But it was easy enough to scrape off Overall I’m super pleased and this will feed me the next couple days. Also want to say the hostess/server was amazing and very kind. I was there in 12/16 around 6:45am btw.
My first time at this restaurant, The food was fresh and seasoned like homemade. The service was great there was not a long wait for our food to be served I was very surprised at that. The portions were good enough for my family and I to take some home. I will be back again.
We were seated promptly. The waitress approached us in a friendly & professional manner. The food was exactly as we had ordered it, of very good quality and was prepared promptly. Excellent job. The only thing that was sub par was the coffee which they took off the bill.
A very cozy place with superb ambience! I'd call it a 3rd date place. The serving staff is friendly and interactive and the food is too delicious. We had gone for a brunch and the menu is catered to almost any type of meal, anytime of the day. The chicken I ordered had flavor in every bite, probably the best chicken i've had till date. Juices are all home-made and are very refreshing. Would definitely become a regular customer here.
Went with some friends and I enjoyed my meal. Always appreciate a place I can get breakfast all day so Alton's hit the spot. My friends got few different things since they visitimg and wanted to try chicken Soulvaki. The gluten-free offerings were solid as well for someone in my party. Got some dessert as well to top off the meal and it was a good slice of pie. Oreo pie to be exact.
Alton’s Restaurant in Cheektowaga NY is a classic American Diner! Just feel the weight of the Naugahyde-bound menu with pages of breakfast and lunch options. For me, corned beef hash topped with two eggs up, wheat toast with jelly bites, orange juice and black coffee. Nothing sates like a late breakfast where the brine of the corned beef covers the foodie melange with a sharp kiss. Everybody can eat here. Just don’t forget the server that attends has years of American classic diner serving experience. What a delight!
Second time coming here it wasn’t too bad, we had the waiter Thomas. He seemed sort of rude but he got the job done, he got everything we asked for in a timely manner. We sat next to the servers station so we heard all the gossip for the night… they kept singing, ice, ice baby and got it stuck in our heads food came out fairly quickly. But the baklava cheesecake is where it is at.
Sat @ the counter, had wonderful service from Candy. Agean salmon was full of flavor. The salad was fresh and the Greek oil & vinegar dressing was flavorful. Restaurant was busy @ 7 pm on a Tuesday night, but nonetheless my food came out in a timely manner that didn't dissapoint, portions were satisfying even for a guy who works out & weighs 240 lbs. Wait staff is friendly not overbearing, the restaurant is clean, it's a great family restaurant. The desert portions are "huge" so save room for the Baclava Cheesecake!
🍴Gyro and feta omelette with home fries and tzatziki BuffaliciousBites gives Alton's 5 stars!
Standard diner type atmosphere. Waitresses was great, food came out fast and exactly the way we ordered it. This is my favorite breakfast place when I'm in the area.
This location has a very homey, old-school diner feel that is very clean and relaxed. The service was prompt, polite and professional while my meal was very tasty and I received it quickly. Would recommend.
Restaurant was very busy but wait was short. Waitress was courteous, friendly and quickly took our order. We stopped for breakfast. Food came out hot, was plentiful and very good. We would stop again and would recommend to others.
Sorry I didn't take photos but everything was great! First off, it's a pretty big place, but it had a relaxed ambience. The little Christmas trees decorated, along with all the other Christmas decorations were just right, not too much. Our wait was about 15 minutes. The waitress couldn't have treated us better. The coffee was great. 3 cups. The French onion soup was amazing. The chicken souvlaki was tender and turkey but on sourdough were big portions. Well worth it. It was my first time and came with my mom. Will definitely come again.
This was a great dining experience from beginning to end. We had no weight on an early Saturday dinner, we were sat and attended to quickly and efficiently. Our waitress was wonderfully friendly. Food was delicious, had the hot roast beef partner had the patty melt. Lots of choices. Enjoyed.
Voted best restaurant in 2015. The standards have not changed. The wait person was able to be flexible to work with my dietary restrictions. She was experienced and friendly. The service was quick and excellent. The place is very clean. The wait was about 10 minutes in spite of it being very busy.
Consistently Excellent – A Staple in Our Routine! This place is always hopping, and it’s easy to see why. The location is fantastic with ample parking, and the layout is well-designed for functionality, seating, and smooth movement throughout. The cleanliness is top-notch—they’re always making sure the floors are spotless, and everything is cleaned to perfection, if not better. The bathroom is also well-maintained and free of any dust or dirt, which is a big plus. The staff, from top to bottom, is incredibly well-mannered, kind, and attentive. The food never disappoints—at least not for me, or any family and friends I’ve brought along who now consider Alton’s a staple in their dining rotation. We’ve been coming here for years, and today we ordered the spinach feta omelet with crispy home fries with onions and rye toast, along with Alton’s Special breakfast (pancakes, eggs, and bacon). Both meals were excellent, as always. We’ll definitely continue enjoying Alton’s for years to come!
I had a fantastic experience at Alton’s Greek Restaurant! I was lucky enough to be helped by Danielle, who recommended a dish for me — and it turned out to be an amazing pick! The food was delicious, and you can really taste the care and tradition behind it. This place has been in business for over 40 years, and it shows in every detail, from the incredible flavors to the welcoming atmosphere. The decor has a charming old-style feel that makes you feel right at home, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for authentic Greek food and great service! Highly recommended!
Went a different way to head to my room and I came across this restaurant so I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed at all in no way. I sat at the bar looked over the menu and ordered the Red snapper, it came with chicken lemon soup. Everything was soooooooooo good. The service was A1 it wasn't just one person checking on me it was the whole staff that made sure I was good. Even tho I ate all my food I still ordered dessert now that put me over I needed a pillow after that. I got the turtle cheesecake Jesus take the wheel it was so so good. I'm yawning as I'm writing this post lol. I will for sure be going back here again.
We were traveling and stopped in for a brunch type meal while charging at the Tesla Supercharger approximately 1/2 mile away. Perfectly prepared breakfast, and my wife had a steak that was prepared exactly as requested. They were busy but not too busy and our server stopped and check on my coffee level at least 8 times in a 30 minute meal…excellent service and meal, we will be back!!!
Went here for our first time to have lunch. Seated promptly and waitress was very attentive. Brought over another drink when mine was getting low which I thought was great. Had the sampler platter for an appetizer. Nice spread but would have thought hot sauce for the fingers but I could have asked for that. Wife had the chicken supreme sandwich. She said it was very good. I ordered the patty melt. The meat was very tender and cooked properly. My complaint is any time I have ordered one there was ample amount of onions on the sandwich. Not sure if they forgot them but there weren't any onions on it. Overall we were happy with our meal.

Nothing special to separate itself from other restaurants but family friendly, clean, nice place to go. Kind and courteous employees
Generous portions, good service good atmosphere. Above average diner.
Really nice and mellow. Food comes out fast. But make sure you check for utensils.
Great experience here - went with a coworker for some dinner after work. Food and value: we got the Pot Roast Dinner, Greek Lamb Chops, and a Loganberry each. Price, including tip, was a bit high for my lamb chops. Service: Our server was Tiffany. Professional and attentive. Atmosphere: Warm and cozy family restaurant. A good noise level and good for quiet/moderate conversations. Overall: Great experience though a bit pricy for what you get.
Had a the cheeseburger supreme and added a over medium egg to it, very good!
Our experience with Alton's was that it was more of an American-Greek restuarant than a true Greek restaurant. We ordered the soulvaki and lamb chops medium, and they both came out closer to well done. Only one lamb chop had any pink. The peanut butter pie was reminiscent of something you would get out of the frozen section at a grocery store. If friends or family wanted to visit Alton's again, we would go. Otherwise, we will not be returning.
Service was excellent! I loved my meal and the food was fresh & hot! Staff was very friendly to talk to, felt almost like family or a friend you see on weekends! Would definitely recommend dining here for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is very welcoming and feels like a local café.
It’s consistently ok to good, the food that is. The servers are mostly lifers that are at the top of their game, every shift. I’ve worked with ladies like this…some of the hardest working people you’ll ever meet. The decorating inside is a bit of throwback, reminds me of the old Holiday Showcase that was across the street from Putt-Putt. Get breakfast. 🍳
Alton’s is a classic great place for breakfast or brunch. Their Elma location we ate at is great for larger groups and has some flexible seating. I had the country omelet with home fries and toast. It was super good and had great value and food came out fast. Big fan of Alton’s will definitely be going back
Took my son here before we went to the movies. We enjoyed our experience! It was busy, but we were seated immediately. Service was very friendly and food was good.

We arrived early and the hostess gave us a table near the kitchen and they were clanking all kinds of dishes and silverware to the right of us. They were putting them all in black bins to be washed. It was really terrible and we couldn't even carry a conversation. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.
It was a nice location, but everything we had was oversalted, some aggregiously so. I had chicken and rice soup that almost was crunchy from salt, and I'm not sensitive to salt, so that's saying something. The meatloaf and potatoes were fine, not great. Overall, I just wish we had gone somewhere else.
I had dinner with my sister there because she recommended it The service was okay but the server got my order wrong and my food wasn't seasoned very well. I didn't complain at the time because I didn't want to ruin the fellowship with my sister. I won't return there.
The food was okay. It came out Luke warm. I like my food hot, and it never did get real hot. The waitress reheated it but it didn't suffice. The meat was tender and the gravy was a little salty. The carrots and celery needed to be cooked more for my liking. On the flip side our server was very attentive and available immediately for requests.
Lovely and quaint! As a first time customer I wasn't impressed. The waffle was dry and barely had any powdered sugar. The scrambled eggs had cheese that didn't melt, they were bland and had no taste. They gave extra butter in a disposable container sitting right ontop of my french toast the frittata was okay honestly the rye roast and coffee was the best part.
We went here for breakfast and ordered an omelet, eggs Benedict, and the eggs, bacon, pancakes special. The pancakes were delicious, the scrambled eggs were good. The eggs benedict didn't really have any flavor. Although there was a good bit of hollandaise sauce it just didn't have any bite. They need to add some lemon juice to it. It didn't taste like Canadian bacon. It was more like a piece of ham on top of the English muffin. The hash browns didn't have any flavor. The bacon was burnt on the edges and raw in the middle. The coffee was good. The server was friendly and tried to keep up but you could tell that they were overworked.

I only go to Alton's for breakfast and their hashbrowns ! Great omelet and hashbrowns!

Undercooked food sent the dog food back right away. Still showed up on my bill. I will never go back or recommend to anyone
A little disappointed I love their Salvoki but this is unacceptable for $15.00. I would think my lettuce and tomato would be fresh. Also only 4 pieces of chicken. I think I will go to Aldi and buy the chicken tenders and salad myself. At least I can feed the entire family cor $15.00 and it will be FRESH!
Very disappointed with the food. I got the pot roast dinner which was served a little above room temperature and seemed to be sitting for a bit. The dish was supposed to come with garlic toast and instead I was given pita bread. The mashed potatoes were instant potatoes. My fiancée got the chicken Alfredo and was also served pita bread instead of the typical garlic toast. I brought this issue up to my server and was told they were out of their garlic butter spread. The staff was apologetic but not sure why I wasn’t told and instead just served with the incorrect side. We did receive a discount on one of our drinks and also got free dessert but overall very disappointed with the quality and accuracy of the food and won’t be returning, especially for still receiving a $50 food bill
Great food, not a huge selection but all of your classics. Watch your step. Some little girl face-planted on the step between the dining room and the entrance area. I was dining with someone who had been there before and she commented that step had been there for years. Surprised this had not been fixed in this sue-happy world -that is dangerous! I had the open-faced roast beef sandwich and it was really good. Would definitely come back here. Waitstaff was kind of slow and inattentive to refills but they were nice and seemed to have no problem if you called out to them passing by for refills, etc. Update: Just returned here, had a less than stellar meal. Ordered the goulash which was the special. Came with soup and garlic toast. The soup was delicious but VERY small. Like one of those tiny bathroom Dixie cups of soup. The dinner was cold. So cold that the shredded cheese didn't even melt on top. The garlic toast was just a slice of white bread sliced diagonally. Had NO flavor and was barely warmed at all. No toasted color at all. Guest had the roast beef which I ordered last time. Same comment as when I had it: good but nothing to write home about. The waitress was great but the food was not. Probably won't give them another try. Food is just okay and prices are a little high for what you actually get.
The fish fry was not good at all! The fish was dry, the salads seemed like they came out of a tub. The tarter sauce tasted like mayonnaise. Spent 41.00 dollars on a tasteless meal. Would not recomm…

Not very good, they took a while to seat us, then service took forever but it was not busy. I got the egg Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was separated, the potatoes were very dry and old tasting, pancakes were hard and hard to cut through? My husband got food poisoning and was sick an hour after we left. I was surprised about the good reviews because this was the worst breakfast place I’ve been to in years.
Went there for the first time, it was super slow, sat around for almost a half hr and still hadnt even gotten a drink. We got up and left. Told the staff id hate to see what its like when its actually busy and they just laughed Not to mention me being diabetic, knew what i wanted five minutes after sitting, never seen a server again, and had already taken insulin bc i knew what I wanted already
Take out delivery order on 10/30, obviously today's kitchen employees certainly didn't put in the amount of quality care compared to our last order which was the same. Who ever cooked today the hamburger was rare we ordered med well I have a picture. ALSO my senior chicken meal quality wasn't the same as my last order. Its obvious whose ever working on that specific day.?? Its sad that we can't rely on our food being delivered with the same quality as before.????
I am truly baffled how the Walden location has the 4.5 star rating on Google. I went with a friend to get late breakfast on the Friday after Halloween at lunch time. Admittedly, the place was a lot busier than I thought it was going to be and they looked severely under staffed. I get it. Tbh I wanted to leave right then.. When we first came in we were completely ignored by the hostess for atleast 5 minutes when an other group of women came in they were immediately tended to and asked their name.. the guests had to tell the hostess we were actually there first and she agreed okay, lady.. first strike. We were eventually sat by an obviously frazzled, sad looking individual who promised to come back for our orders (took atleast 10mins). I looked at the Greek dressing on our table and the mini plate was FILTHY. There was legit dried pieces of feta and salad on it and the bottle was disgusting. It took FOREVER (24+mins) for a plate of eggs, potato’s, and pancakes to come out for us when other guests after us were being seated and served by the same waitress and receiving their full entrees before us.. when my friend looked down at her glass she noticed LIPSTICK on the rim (she wasn’t wearing any) and physically became nauseated. Our waitress interrupted our meal to ask for the Greek dressing off our table for the guest next to us , I looked at it and said go ahead, she looks at the plate and bottle seeing it’s obviously filthy and awkwardly took it to the line to wipe it off and change the plate before handing it to the table next to us.. she said NOTHING about the state of it. I was just laughing at this point. What a joke. Honestly, I was beside myself and debated leaving $0 tip and complaining to a manager.. However, the pitiful presentation of the staff and establishment as a whole caused me to pull some humanity from my soul, and swallow my pride and my soggy toast served on a filthy plate, I paid for something I really shouldn’t have but it’s what ev’s. I did promise myself to write an honest review of my experience. Oh , also, I tried them 2 years ago at their transit location and ordered a Cesar salad that was SWIMMING in dressing with brown lettuce which made me sick… despite this prior experience i foolishly went against my better judgment to try again. Really, I am curious how they are so busy that place is atrocious in my opinion. Not sure why I’m having a different experience than everyone else but it’s giving IHOP but worse.
Been patronizing this establishment for years, decided to drop in after not going there for about a year on a late evening mind you I called first and asked when did they stop seating. The gentleman on the phone told me at 10 I said oh ok because it says you close at 10 he said oh no we close at 11 but the last seating is 10:00pm which was also clearly on the door. My husband and I arrived at 9:38pm after a long day of work for a quick sandwich. So we walk in the owner or manager wasn’t too friendly I explained to her I called and the gentleman told us the last seating and call for food was 10pm and that you guys don’t close til 11pm. She was a bit rude and says let me go see if the chef is still serving then she comes back says a few words, gets 2 menus puts them on the table with a real hesitant/ rushing demeanor and unfriendly invitation. Now mind you she could have said no just come back tomorrow. Fast forward we order 2 sandwiches, I order a steak Philly and hot chocolate, My husband orders a barbecue chicken finger sub. Something quick and straight to the point! They come out with it my food is decent a bit well done but decent for a hungry gal but the extra sauce on the side, I asked for had some nasty brown pieces in it, I asked the waitress what was wrong with it she blew it off as nothing so I didn’t touch it no big deal sandwich I ate wasn’t the best but decent no fuss. However my husband sandwich was not made with decency it was slopped together. He said mayo, light lettuce. It had extra lettuce, some mayo and the chicken fingers were just put on the bread after the sauce was just poured directly on the bread, not mixed in. The sauce was just poured on making the bread soggy, the demenor was drenched in barbecue sauce, not made how we have had it made there so many times before. It was just carelessly tossed together. He took a bite and said something is off and decided not to eat the sandwich. We informed the waitress he wasn’t pleased with his meal. She asked if he wanted something else we replied no given the welcome we received in the first place and the fact it was already after 10 so he just requested they take it back and remove it from the bill. She went and informed the owner/ manager who I have interacted with many times before in a very friendly/pleasant manner, she comes over asked what was the reason because food prices are high which was rude as if our money also isn’t hard to come by. My husband didn’t say much other than I don’t like it but I gave her detail as she stood there with a very nasty demenor and very rude face. Her body language was rude as well, I simply let her know it wasn’t made correctly it was slopped together firstly the chicken fingers were not done enough, and the barbecue sauce was just poured on the bread and then the fingers were placed on top of it and it was covered in lettuce. Not tasty and poorly made. She didn’t say a word she just walked away as if she wasn’t satisfied with the response, mind you this would be our first time after spending hundreds maybe even thousands over the years at this establishment to ever complain about a dish. That’s was very rude! Then when we went to pay she was cold and very nasty still. I know it was long to read but needed to give insight on why I am posting this and why my family and I will not go back. It’s ok to have a bad day or to be mindful about food prices but customers that are regulars and or never gave you a problem before and spent plenty of money in your establishment you don’t treat that way. Just very nasty and rude! Very disappointing.
