Best wings I've ever had. And I'm a wing snob.
Hole in the wall and long wait for food but is worth the wait for sure.
Brooke was a fantastic server, best wings in the city. If you have left a bad review here then you have bad taste and should go back to wing stop.
Had a quick stop over in Buffalo for the night, and this was exactly what we were hoping for. Great food - wings and fries were incredible, the best and kindest service, definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
The wings are to die for and the fries are amazing ! Brooke the server was such a doll And made the whole experience enjoyable.
Outstanding experience, best wings, and handcut fries in Buffalo. The wait times might be long but your food is brought as soon as it is ready as well as "ordered". Two spots to order from being the bar and one of the 12 tables located behind the hostess. Expect wait times of an hour at open and some open seats by 7/7:30. Went on a Saturday and had a great time talking to both tourists and locals. Order a drink so that the wait feels less like an hour and a half and more like twenty-five minutes. Cannot wait to come back and try the HOT wings as opposed to MEDIUM. They are known for their hot sauce.
Best wings in Buffalo hands down. Great vibes there. Always worth the wait!!! Awesome service too!
All I can really think to say is just come close enough to the Taver and the smell of a beautiful Ir
If you’re looking for 10/10 wings (and fries) with a side of authenticity, put this on the mantle. Can’t say enough about the sauce on these wings. Total slap in the face in a good way. Bar Bill is the only elite 🍗 competition from my experience.
Great pub, awesome wings. Prepare to wait...it's worth it. Bartender and servers were very nice too! Made us feel welcome while we waited for our wings
While most great wing spots all taste relatively the same, the wings at Nine Eleven are completely unique in flavor. They are hands down our pick for the BEST wings in Buffalo. The waits can be long, it’s a small dining room and a smaller kitchen, but trust us. It is worth it.
The hot wings at Nine Eleven Tavern have undoubtedly earned a stellar rating of 10/10, standing out as an exceptional culinary experience. The amalgamation of four key elements - taste, heat level, crispy texture, and consistency - contributes to the wings' unparalleled excellence. Firstly, the taste of these wings is a symphony for the taste buds. The flavor profile strikes a perfect balance, with a harmonious blend of spices, sauces, and a hint of smokiness. Each bite delivers a burst of savory goodness that leaves a lasting impression, making it an unforgettable dining experience. The heat level of the wings is another standout feature. It manages to achieve that delicate equilibrium where the spiciness is enough to tantalize the palate without overwhelming it. The heat enhances the overall flavor, creating a sensation that lingers without becoming uncomfortable – a testament to the chef's skill in crafting the perfect spicy kick. Crispy perfection is achieved in every bite, adding a delightful crunch to the wings. The exterior boasts a golden brown, impeccably crispy texture, providing a satisfying contrast to the tender, succulent meat within. This attention to texture elevates the overall enjoyment of the wings, making them not just a dish but a culinary masterpiece. Consistency is the hallmark of excellence, and Nine Eleven Tavern excels in delivering wings with unwavering quality. Whether ordering a dozen or just a few, patrons can expect the same delectable taste, heat, and crispiness every time. This reliability enhances the dining experience, ensuring that each visit is as delightful as the last. In conclusion, the hot wings at Nine Eleven Tavern earn a perfect 10/10 due to their exceptional taste, optimal heat level, crispy texture, and unwavering consistency. These wings transcend the ordinary, creating a culinary experience that leaves patrons longing for more. It's a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and dedication of the chef, making Nine Eleven Tavern a haven for wing enthusiasts.
Best traditional hot wings in the region in my opinion. The corned-beef sanwich and the french fries are also in an elite tier. Cash only and a small dining area so I would recommend going with a smaller group. If it's just two of you dont be afraid to sit at the bar. Side Note: They have a great looking shuffleboard table in the bar area though I have yet to play a game on it.
What a staple! When the floors are sticky you know it’s good food. The menu is very limited but that is because what they make, they make well! We ordered fries and wings with plenty to take home and it did not disappoint. The vibe is very old Irish/ South Buffalo pub and you can tell the walls have stories. The service was what you would expect from a wing joint that has decades of wing history. Adding to my wing rotation. Cash only though so just know before you go!
If you've heard that Nine-Eleven has great wings, Believe It! Why someone would not like their wings is beyond me. Not sure about other menu items, but if half as good as the wings, it will be good. I have only ever had the wings. Good size, crispy, yet saucy enough, and very nicely presented! Worth the visit every time.
Brooke was the best waitress ever! Best wings I’ve ever had and I know my wings. 100000/10 recommend.
We had a great experience here, AMAZING wings and super delicious fries! The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful, especially with the place being packed! Will definitely be going back soon and definitely recommend to try it out!
Without question the best wings in Buffalo, NY. Always 10/10, never an off night. Fries are also A++. All of the staff are top notch, attentive and pleasant. Get there at opening on a weekday and you’ll be good to go.
This place is to wings as the Randezvous in Memphis is to ribs, THE BEST! Also loved the fries and pizza rolls. Grab a bottle of sauce if you go too.
Amazing buffalo style wings. Not too hot. Also great fries! Smaller, cash only bar, but definitely always worth going to!
Wings are elite. We went on a wing crawl and 5/5 of us voted these the best ! Brooke was our bartender and did a wonderful job of balancing a large crowd and making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Wings so good my friend bought merch! Can’t wait to come back
The Nine Eleven is one of my favorite places to go to every single time I am in Buffalo. The WINGS are AMAZING- I travel all the way from Philly for these!!! Additional food and service have been nothing but exceptional every time I have been there! The staff are just as exceptional as the wings- they will make sure you are taken care of. Can’t wait to come back!
Best wings I’ve ever had. Medium. Little sprinkle of Parmesan? Perfect size, crisp, saucy, spicy enough. You’re doing it right. I’ll be back.
For whatever reason this place doesn't get the praise it deserves best wings in buffalo by a mile I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed won't lie it takes a bit for the food to come out however by your 3rd wing you'll totally forget about the wait Absolutely recommend to any n everyone they never disappoint 100% go there!
Featuring a simple menu and only three styles of wings (Hot, Medium, and Mild) this is the place to go for the BEST wings in Buffalo. Large, saucy, and crispy. They don't get better than this. The serving of seasoned fries is generous and oh so delicious too! Nondescript restaurant/bar with limited indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure you have your cash because credit cards are not accepted. I literally have nothing negative to say about any of my numerous visits to this hole-in-the-wall, out of this world locale. Fun fact: the name comes from their address. If you're standing in the bar you're at 9 Bloomfield Ave and if you're in the restaurant you're at 11 Bloomfield Ave. The more you know!
Always make a stop here whenever I’m going through Buffalo. Top notch wings, awesome atmosphere, and a fantastic staff. Don’t think I’ve ever had a meal I didn’t like, or had a bad experience.
This is a known top win Buffalo wing spot (therefore top in world). The building could certainly use some updating(bathrooms especially) but being a dive is part of its persona. Located in South Buffalo. Prices are good, wait time on the wings is a but long, but worth it. Wings only come in their hot/med/mild variety. It was my first time, and I gotta say, believe the wing hype. I've not been tho every top rated spot yet, but this certainly belongs in anyone's top 5. I've got them at #2. Seriously good wings. I cant speak to anything else on their menu, as far as I'm concerned, there's no other choice. Will return, many times.
I've been meaning to come to 911 for a few years now, after hearing of its reputation for having some of the finest wings in buffalo. And they truly do. These are the wings of your childhood, before the corruption of barbecue, honey mustard and all tarnish that comes from those progressive wing types. The hand cut fries are an experience, I think I would like to try them without the seasoning. Not sure if that's possible. But my Irish blood yearns for it. Great experience, price was reasonable. I'm on a mission to try the corned beef the next time I visit.
Stopped in on a Friday night, place was friggin packed. I was waited on almost immediately and had a beer in my hand within 5 minutes, got my wings in 20 minutes. Wish I had gotten the waitress’s name to give her a shoutout as she was great. I’ve been trying all the wing places in Buffalo and I’m gonna say this place has the absolute best wings. They are large and crispy and the sauce amount is perfect, not too much, not too little. 💯💯
You can call this place a dive cause that's what it is. A old bar very small but I'm not here to be a interior decorator or check the decor. I'm here to try what people tell me are one of the best if not the best wings in Buffalo. Fries wings where AMAZING nothing negative about this place. Jumbo wings chunky blue cheese our waitress was friendly and topping up all our drinks. You want the best forget the rest NINE ELEVEN ARE BEST WINGS I EVER ATE.
Visited last night for the first time. Certainly won’t be the last!!!! Hot wings were cooked to perfection, fries were out of this world. The staff was so friendly they made us feel right at home. They are not able to seat large groups in the dining area, more than 6 to be exact, and after watching the flow of people in and out and the size of the establishment it is COMPLETELY understandable. They do accommodate groups larger than 6 at the bar. We witnessed an aggressive group trying to break the seating policy. They were so rude to the host who remained very professional, simply kept reiterating the policy. She was kind and apologetic but explained that that’s how things work there. Bottom line is do t pay attention to those reviews! Some people just don’t know how to take no for an answer!
***cash only** Friends came in from the capital district area to experience what this great city of Buffalo has to showcase for chicken wings. Went to six places back to back to back etc... in one day. The atmosphere is great. The staff was amazing. Showed up around 5pm on a Friday. Group of 4 we were seated immediately. Ordered fries and 20 medium wings. Fries came out in maybe 15 min. Wings closer to an hour which the waitress/hostess asked us about prior to seating us. The wait was worth it. The medium is a medium mild. So maybe I’d order hot next time. The cook was great. Juicy. Tender. Crispy. The size of the wings were larger than most from the day. The fries were good. Also another twist on your typical medium wing. Might have been a medium garlic parm variation. It was delicious. Thank you. Will be coming back. I lucked out and was able to park in the street right in front of the restaurant
Really good wings definitely worth a try! but be prepared to wait (we were) we waited about an hour to get a seat (got there at 5 on a friday), fries came out pretty quickly and then it was about another hour + for our wings. They were super good and well worth it but i think coming later at 730 or so would have been better (there was open tables with no line. it was also a sabres game night so that probably increased wait time. the staff here is great though each person was HUSTLING all night! Our server was kind and wonderful and made sure to check on us multiple times!
Some of the best wings I've ever had. The wait is real but if you want fast food, there's a McDonalds up the road. For the people complaining about a max table size of 6, just split your group into two and dont care if everyone is sitting beside each other or eating at the same table. Easy solution. They have limited space inside. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and were told around 30 mins for a table, we grabbed a beer from the bar and hung out in the bar section. We ended up sitting at the bar. They did say it'd be an hour for wings and not that we timed it, it seemed much shorter. We ordered fries to start and weren't done the fries when the wings came. We were traveling from Ontario and will make this a mandatory stop anytime we're in Buffalo going forward. Great Food, Great People and Great Atmosphere.
Love stopping by here! Despite the wild name of the restaurant, they serve the best hot wings I’ve ever had. Solid 2nd place on my wing tour list with a 9.4/10 rating. Also can't beat the delicious fries when waiting (trust me, the wait is worth it). Bonus points for the best Blue Cheese on my list.
I have conflicted emotions talking up my favorite hidden gem but this place has absolutely the best wings in Buffalo, and therefore, the world. Size, sauce, crispiness, blue cheese, all are 10/10. Don’t go anywhere else for wings. Oh and their fries are my favorite in Buffalo. Oh and their corned beef sandwich is amazing too. Those are the only things I’ve gotten the 4 times I’ve been there but most likely will not ever get anything else.
I finally made it out to Nine-Eleven Tavern, and now I completely understand why so many people in Buffalo consider them to be a top-tier wing spot in WNY. The wings themselves were perfectly executed; the sauce was delicious, and the crispness was done to perfection. What truly set them apart was the flavor consistency—the taste was addictive, staying robust and satisfying from the first wing to the last, leaving me wanting more every time. And honestly, the fries might have stolen the show! They had an incredible blend of seasoning that made them truly outstanding. Nine-Eleven is easily a top-five contender in my book.
Old school awesome tavern with hands down the best wings Ive ever had. Brooke and Dannie were awesome and showed my buddies from Tampa that Buffalo hospitality. If you’re looking for the best wings in Buffalo, this is where to go. (The Finn Fries are a must as well, cant describe how good they are)
The bartender was extremely accommodating, friendly, and had great customer service. The owner happened to be sitting near us, and she too was amazing. Super happy we went. Of course the wings and fries were great! Thank again for helping us have a great night of shuffle board and wings.
The BEST of it all!!! This was our last stop on our 5 day wing fest in Buffalo. Saying we saved the best for last would be a huge understatement!! Everything here is on point! Sean was one of the coolest people we met while in Buffalo. We came in on a slow day, ended up spending 3 hrs here eating wings, drinking, and making friends with everyone at the bar. If they were busy we would have left sooner to be polite. Love their hours, love the cash only, love no reservations. This folks is how you specialize in one thing and become the best. Please!!! Do not ever change or franchise.
Best wings in Buffalo! Place isnt huge so get there early. I appreciate staff being up front and honest about wait time for the wings. We were sat immediately, got drinks and appetizers, then got what are now my favorite wings in the area. 20 hot/medium 🤌🤌🤌 Can't wait to be back!
This place has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I finally made it! The restaurant is quintessential South Buffalo: Friendly, No Thrills, and Proud. There is no pretentiousness here, just great wings and proud Buffalonians. These are fantastic wings, with great flavor, the perfect "crunch", and a moist chicken center. I'll be coming back! Pro Tip: Get the french fries, and also be aware that its cash only.
If you're looking for a place that feels like home, serves unforgettable food, and has a story worth supporting—Nine Eleven Tavern is it. First off, the wings. Let’s talk about those wings. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and absolutely drenched in flavor. The house sauce is next-level—just the right balance of heat, sweet, and tangy. You can tell these aren’t your run-of-the-mill bar wings; they’re made with pride and precision. Quite honestly, they might be the best wings in New York. Bold statement? Maybe. True? Absolutely. But what really makes Nine Eleven Tavern stand out is the atmosphere. It’s authentic. It’s local. It’s welcoming. The kind of place where you walk in a stranger and leave feeling like part of the family. The bartender knows their regulars, the owner might come out and chat, and the vibes are always real. There’s no pretension here—just great food, good drinks, and a genuine respect for community and history. You feel it the moment you walk in. Whether you're a wing connoisseur, a history buff, or just someone looking for a solid neighborhood bar with soul—do yourself a favor and check this place out.
The prettiest presentation of wings out there, each one carefully placed. Mmmmhmm. The only wings I truly crave. Hot or medium are the way to go. The Finn fries are spectacular, just don’t burn your mouth or fill up on them before your wings arrive. Rookie move. Fingers are also dynamite. I love to grab a stool at the bar. This is a family owned joint. You will wait, but it’s always worth it. They are operating out of a tiny kitchen, with one cook. And man, they crank out the good stuff. Don’t forget to snag a jar of sauce to enjoy at home. Tips for a super visit: - cash only - no parties larger than 6 people - no takeout (that was only a perk during Covid days and man the restaurant industry needed all the help) - have some beer - play some shuffleboard - and always be kind
First time here and all I can say is OMG WOW!!! No wonder this place is at the top of the Buffalo Wing Pyramid....not only were the fries hot, crunchy, and fresh but the wings were on point! We got medium and hot, and both flavors delivered! Amazing spice and heat levels with killer overall flavor. Kelly, our waitress was attentive and took the time to help us order. The owner Paige even sat down and chatted with us while we waited for our food. This place is definitely somewhere that will be in our regular rotation of wing spots!! 10/10!
Wings, wings, wings. If you want to experience a top 5 chicken wing in Buffalo, NY then this is a must go!! The menu is small. Wings, chicken fingers, fresh cut fries, pizza logs and corned beef sandwiches. That's it, but they do them all right. Hot, crispy wings....yum. I give this spot a 4.75 out of 5 stars.
Had an amazing time here. Not from this area, but wanted to eat some wings in Buffalo. 100% Local Corner Bar vibes. Parking is on the street but wasn't bad. It's a small place that gets full fast. Only accepts cash! Didn't realize this until I went in, but had cash on me anyway. They let me know there is an ATM across the street if needed. My waitress Kelly was great! Kept drinks full and brought food out hot. She was also very friendly thanking us for coming and even recommending a local pizza place for my friend to order from tomorrow night. Now the food... my friend and I are on a work trip up here so wanted to try a variety. Got a triple (30 wings) hot, an order of Finn fries, and a single pizza rolls(4 rolls). Fries came out 1st and WOW , glad we only got 1 order. They were huge and delicious. Portion is definitely big enough for a family of 4. Pizza rolls are pepperoni and cheese filled egg rolls. These were good and different, but not really my favorite thing. Then the star of the show- the wings. Hot isn't super spicy, but has a little kick. But the flavor was great! So crispy and juicy! The presentation was also great! Look forward to seeing yall again whenever I'm near here.
If you’re expecting quick service or a clean bathroom, you can forget about it. If you want top 3 Buffalo wings, you can find them here. Fantastic crisp, delicious sauce. Be sure to order the fries as well. First come first serve, no reservations and cash only. You might wait an hour to get your wings but it will be worth it. You should plan to be here for a while. A must try if looking for the best wings in Buffalo.
9-11 tavern is such a unique bar. First off cash only no takeout. Second there chicken wings are amazing they really are especially for the price you pay for wings nowadays. Big wings extra crispy and the sauce is the whole reason everyone loves them. Absolutely amazing wings!! Worst part of 9-11 is no air conditioning in the whole bar!!! I went on a day about 83 degrees outside around 5pm the thermostat on the wall in the bar was at 86 degrees. Unfortunately I was sweating a lot and only could enjoy a couple wings so I had to take the rest home. Either way really good wings if you have to eat a couple and take the rest home it’s still a Win in my book deserves a 4star review.
The wings are great the best wings in my Opinion but the management is horrible Never open during posted open hours which is minimal to begin with but then it’s hit or miss pull up and it’s closed most the time. Over an hour and half to wait to sit then long wait for the food they Can’t seat 6 people. Can’t accept take out orders. They Only accept cash this could be a great business if it was managed correctly The wings were very very good when you can actually get them sadly it’s hard to dine here with the loud bar environment and the horrible customer service but we go back anyways because the wings are just that good
This place is often recommended as the top wing spot in Buffalo. I went with high expectations, and they were nearly met. I got there within 10 minutes of opening on a Thursday, and the wait for food was already an hour. Shortly after I arrived, guests had to wait an additional half hour to get a table. My order of hot wings was indeed brilliant. Saucy, spicy with complex flavor, and hot! I really enjoyed them, but would I wait an hour for them again? Unfortunately not. I've had meatier, juicer wings at Gene McCarthy's. Blackthorn had comparable sauce. Overall, this place was really good, but not worth an hour's wait. Hopefully when they expand, the wait time goes down!
My boyfriend and I are frequent patrons of Nine Eleven. We had 5 friends in town visiting Buffalo for the first time and couldn't wait to show them Nine Eleven's wings. We had a group of 7 and knew their policy, so we went in asking for a table of 4 and 3. Because they could sense we were a larger group, they refused to seat us, despite always asking for separate tables. All of the staff was incredibly rude and immediately treated us like we were a burden for trying to eat here. My friends were so upset by the interaction and my boyfriend and I were utterly embarrassed. I don't think we'll bring guests here again. I don't understand why larger groups aren't allowed at ALL, despite being okay with separate tables. A customer is a customer. I've been a waitress and so I understand being busy, but you still need to treat people with kindness and respect. We would've been more understanding if we weren't yelled at repeatedly by the staff.
Wings are very good. Super loud everyone talking over each other also a super long wait.
The reputation is awesome, but we waited outside in the cold for 40 min only to have a bunch of people join "friends " in line ahead of us . The people immediately in front of us got cut off from seating, which put us on another 1hr wait. We had a hockey game to catch, so we had to bail. Kicker is, they're not open after the game and they're too far from Orchard park to make a Bills game by the time they open I may never be able to give an honest assessment lol sad
I just don't see what everyone else sees in this place. For starters, the place is old and dirty. The men's bathroom is disgusting. A piece of chipping paint from the ceiling fell on our table while we were waiting for our food. I know they're rated the top wings in Buffalo on a lot of lists, but mine had soggy skin and the cook was inconsistent because the wings were not all the same size. The sauce was good, but why put it on the celery? I could name 50 spots in Buffalo with better wings. This was not worth the hype at all!
Refused to seat two tables one of 3 and one of 4 because they don’t seat parties of more than 6. We explicitly told the hostess we are paying separate bills. We organized a wing tour for out of town friends and wanted to show them this spot. What a joke! Go to Adolfs! Wings are incredible along with the inviting staff!
Food is always great but we were sitting at the bar this time and the bartender went into the bathroom to fix a part on the toilet. Once he came back out he was still handling the old parts, tools, etc and then didn't wash his hands before he handled our food. Very disappointed had to leave the food behind.
We waited over an hour and a half for some chicken wings. And they weren’t even busy!!! Also, god forbid we have 6 people. Apparently even if we split into two tables they can’t seat us. The worst place I’ve ever been to in buffalo. The bar tender has a horrible attitude, slamming drinks, throwing bottles and kicking the cooler doors closed. I do not recommend anyone to come here for dinner, you’ll be ordering from the local pizza parlor. They wouldn’t even seat a lady with her 4 kids. The bathroom is moldy and nasty.
Would not allow our group of 9 to sit at two separate tables. Also told parents with two babies they couldn’t sit at a table until the other two people in their party arrived. Told customers the wait was an hour and a half after only being open for 20 minutes. Most pathetic treatment and disrespect of customers I have ever experienced.
If I can give less than one star I would. I tried to eat here with my family and they refused to seat us because we had a party larger than 6. We said we didn’t mind being split up and we didn’t even have to sit together and they still refused to sit us. I was getting racist vibes from them as it seemed like they didn’t want to seat us because we are brown. They seated plenty of other groups of white people but still refused to seat us. I will not be giving any business to this terrible establishment.
I’ve never left a bad review in my life, but this was above and beyond frustrating. I arrived with a group of 9, fully intending to not all sit together. So, a group of 4, and a group of 5. We were immediately told we could not be seated because there were 9 of us, despite us saying we were not looking to all sit together, or order together, or even be near each other. Heck, we didn’t even drive together. And we were told we could not be sat, basically just because we all knew each other. We were respectfully asking questions because we were confused, and the hostess got frustrated, didn’t explain anything, refused to speak to us anymore, grabbed the group behind us and walked away. We all just stood there dumbfounded. I really wish I was exaggerating, but reading the other reviews this seems like the norm for them. Plus the place had just opened and wasn’t packed at all and they were saying the wait for food would be an hour and a half, which is also crazy. Icing on the cake was the it was 85 degrees inside haha.
I got here at 5pm on a Tuesday right after they opened. It took a few minutes to get seated which was fine. I got a water and ordered 10 wings. I then proceeded to wait an hour without any refills or the waitress even asking. I decided it wasn't worth it anymore, cancelled my order and left. Food was coming out of the kitchen once every ten to fifteen minutes. I didn't see any wings come out after the first twenty minutes that I was there. It was just fries. I don't understand how a place that only serves wings and fries can have a wait of more than fifteen minutes. The wings may be amazing, but I'll never know. I do not recommend this place.
Just walked and had a party of 7. They don’t seat 7 only 6 and when I asked to split into 2 groups with 2 checks the waitress said they don’t do that. Why?? Makes no sense. Wings are good but until they drop this miserable person from the staff I will never be back. We were as nice as could be but she wasn’t going to seat us. Horrible service. I would not recommend this place
The ONLY thing that was decent about this place was the wings and that was it! Came with a group of 9 people in total, drove separately but was told when we came in that despite all of that and us being willing to get separate checks and be seated at separate tables that they would not accommodate our party because we had more than 6 people…seemed that we were being given the runaround for simply knowing each other and were finally told we could only sit at the bar (which keep in mind if we would have had two more people in our group we would have been out of luck getting service at the bar too). On top of that it was sweltering hot and within 15 minutes of the place opening people were being told it was an hour plus wait for food and we witnessed a family with two little kids being told they wouldn’t be seated until their whole party had arrived while there were literally multiple open tables in the restaurant available. It is the most ridiculous “policy” I’ve ever heard of and makes no sense! So unless you come in with random people you don’t know in less than a group of 6 be prepared to be turned away…will never go back or give them my money! Rudest owners ever!
Went there with family and some people from out of state, all of us were adults. The woman not sure if she own the place, told us we couldn’t sit at separate tables because we were a party of 9. We were willing to sit apart and get separate checks for each table. Still not good enough, she didn’t want us to be getting up and walking around. She did offer for us to stand near the bar, where they are no tables and have our food there, I guess we would hold the platters of wings in our hands. It made no sense at all and I will never go back there. So if you are going with more than 6 people, don’t tell them just act like you don’t know anyone until after you are seated.
We planned a dinner at Nine-Eleven Tavern with friends and family, totaling nine people. Upon arrival, we requested two tables—one for five and another for four. The hostess informed us that the maximum party size was six, so we could not be seated at the tables even though we explained we drove separately and planed which table each person would be sitting at. She was extremely condescending and stuck in her ways not bending at all. She refused to let us sit at two separate tables in the dining area and told us we could either leave or eat at the bar. We chose to stay and eat at the bar because some of our friends had yet to try their wings. Although, if the bar was full, we would have been turned away altogether. Not a great way to run a business. While at the bar, we overheard a group of four, which included a young child and a baby, informing the hostess that they expected two more guests. The hostess clarified that the children counted towards the six-person limit and stated they couldn't be seated until everyone arrived, also mentioning a 1.5-hour wait once seated. At that point, the dining area was nearly empty with plenty of room for the party to be seated in wait for the other two guests to arrive. To top it off, the restaurant was a sweltering 85 degrees without air conditioning. While the wings are fantastic, the customer service and overall atmosphere were extremely disappointing. This place has amazing wings but is poorly managed. We won't be returning. The bartender helped salvage the evening with his great attitude and service.
Went to this place with the family. Heard good things about the wings. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a miserable, ignorant, and hateful person. I was as nice as can be, but she was clearly full of anger. She refused our business because we asked for a table of 4 and the remainder of the family would take a table of 3. She explained it was “because we knew each other”. The rules are the rules but the way she handled herself was extremely insulting. Do not recommend. Went to Gene McCarthy’s where they are actually willing to serve a family and show some professionalism. Don’t waste your time here.
My family and I planned a dinner to Nine-Eleven Tavern. I saw the sign out front that said no parties larger than 6. However, I walked in and very very politely said we have 7 and if we could please split up into two tables, 4 and 3. We did not expect to sit near each other and we also said we would pay separate checks to make it easier. All we wanted to do was have some wings. The hostess was immediately rude to us and extremely condescending. When we asked if we could sit at two separate tables, she cut me off and said no we don't do that because we have had "problems" in the past. When asked what the problems were, she refused to say. She said we can either leave, or sit at the bar (which was entirely full). So, I said okay well we'll take a table for 4 right now then (fully intending for the rest of the family to come in and take a table of 3) and she said "nope you just told me you know each other". What??? Mind you I saw at least 3-4 open tables behind her. So if you plan on coming here with a party >6, please act like you have never met each other in your entire life or you will be refused service! We took our business 5 mins away to Gene McCarthys for better wings and incredible service! Thanks Gene McCarthys!
Make no doubt about it, they have great wings and fries in my previous visits. However I can no longer support a business that has terrible customer service and refused to seat my party of 4 even with following their seating rules. Maybe the woman was having a bad day but the attitude and treatment we were given left us in shock for a good 10 minutes before we had no choice but to leave. Response to owners rebuttal: after telling you we would take a table for 4 and we would let the other 2 fend for themselves by getting their own table, ordering their own food and paying their own bill, we were told no we can’t have a table because we originally said 6 people. You can argue semantics of the situation but we chose to go forward as a table of 4 to adhere to your policy and were told no. If those 2 had to cancel instead of being late, we would still be standing there because you wouldn’t let us change the size of our party.
Hour wait for wings. We were told as soon as we walked in. Restaurant didnt seem slammed at all. The wings must be rockin' if people are waiting an hour. Too many places in Buffalo with a great product and the process/infrastructure to run an efficient kitchen. Not a fan of leaving bad reviews but the people need to know about this standard-hour wait time.
I went on a Sunday for all you can eat chicken wings. This deal runs for the duration of the bills game, and you need a reservation. It was $30 a person and the selection included mild, medium, hot, fries and celery. The wings were very good and crispy. The sauces were good, nothing special but good. When we were there, there was a table that was playing the game on their phone and since our phone had no delay, the table would cheer loudly and make loud marks whenever a play happened; spoiling the game for the rest of the people there. This persisted for the entirety of the game. We even heard the game through their phone. In one incident the Dolphins scored a touchdown about a minute or two before we saw it in the restaurant, and the guys at this table started loudly exclaiming about it. Due to the annoyance, a different customer (we ended up talking to them in the parking lot, and they had spent around $400 at the bar) vocalized how annoying it was to have another table spoiling the game, and how it was bad etiquette. The workers responded by telling them they were not welcome back there. They did nothing about the people spoiling the entire game, but instead threw out the customers complaining under the guise of “being rude”. I would never come back to this establishment. The way they completely disregard the majority of the customers trying to enjoy the game on the TVS to accommodate a single table, and then doubling down and having a horrible response to a complaint, was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever witnessed. I would not recommend giving your business to this establishment.
