Recensioni di Manta Cabo San Lucas
This was a phenomenal restaurant! The food was VERY VERY delicious! I see how it is rated Top 13 restaurants in the world. Me and my family received exceptional service from Gerardo Juarez & Orlando Granda !!! They were really nice waiters. They both were very knowledgeable of the menu and broke everything down to us. Very friendly guys, I would come back just for the Catch of the Day which was a Mexican fish that I had never heard of. It was cooked scumptiously!! This place should have multiple Michelin Stars if they don’t already! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Scallops, lobster tacos, tres leches cake & so on… also chocolates, shrimp soup intermixing. Everything is so fresh and delicious! Facing the sea, with sunset and El Arco, enjoying dinner in the beautiful middle century interiors with the top service. Although the price is a little high, it’s still cheaper than in the US for the same things.
Excellent high end fine cuisine! Nice decorated restaurant, with great sea views and nice terrace. We took the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing and our take a way is; mostly fish based, excellent sauces to amplify taste, generous portions and good explanation what you are eating. The wine pairing was also really good! Our favorite was the new Korean Chicken, Peruvian ceviche and the red wine which came with my beef. This great food tasting comes with a price, 10,000 peso plus for a party of 2. But it was well worth it!
Manta is a restaurant focusing on the seafood based cuisines (think a mix of Mexican, Peruvian, and Japanese) of the pacific. Located in the Cape Hotel in Cabo San Lucas, the restaurant overlooks the bay and offers beautiful views at sunset. The bluefin tuna sashimi featured top quality melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna from the pacific coast of Mexico. The dipping sauce is delicious with the tuna. Tomato and watermelon salad had decent tomatoes and watermelon, but what really made it stand out was the sweet hibiscus chimoy sauce. I didn’t expect it to go so well with something already as sweet as watermelon in an appetizer, but it complemented nicely. Fried oysters and mushrooms fill a flour wrapped burrito for the burrito main dish, yielding satisfying umami and texture. The teriyaki sauce was an ingenious pairing. The catch of the day was very well seasoned and topped with a delectable miso mayonnaise like sauce. Eating the fish with blue corn tortillas like tacos was a fantastic way to enjoy the fish; each bite yielded a little flavor explosion with Shishito peppers, guacamole, guacamole, and salsas. The deconstructed tres leches cake was an interesting take on the classic dessert. Here, caramelized bread replaces cake, and the milks come separate. It didn’t have the harmony of the three milks that tres leches normally has, but was nonetheless quite tasty.
Exquisite Latin American and Asian fusion. From fresh sashimi, to tempura fish tacos, to creamy guacamole, to Korean fried chicken, to all the wonderful sides like cauliflower/potato puree or sweet potato with almond puree. This place is a Cabo must. Oh and the views make this a perfect romantic fine dining experience.
We loved our tasting menu at Manta! We got to try 10 of their most popular dishes and they did not disappoint. Incredible flavors and beautiful presentation made this meal a memorable experience. Plus the staff was wonderful, special thanks to Faustino and Sara for making us feel so welcome and taken care of. And finally, the views are unbeatable. We’ll definitely be back!
Omgosh, the best food so far in Cabo! The atmosphere and service and food quality were tops We saw three wedding proposals on The patio and the beach below. My photographs do not do justice to the food. My wife has a great comment, they give you nice extras like house appetizers, salsas and honey and lemon with the tea. Attention to detail is amazing. Will we come back, most definitely! Cheers Alain YYC @alainjavafan
This place is exceptional. Food and service were of an incredibly high standard. We shared a number of dishes — the fish tacos, sweet potato mole, Korean chicken and suckling pig cochinita in particular were just delicious. Very modern and chic decor, with beautiful sunset views to match. One of the best meals we had in Cabo.
Fabulous, modern, and attention to detail!! We had a dinner here with a group of friends and were really impressed by the quality of service and exciting menu. Highly recommend the chefs tasting with local ingredients and flair. Aside from the quality food the actual building is so great, really impressed with the interior design.
In short, One of the best places to eat in Cabo San Lucas. Food was fantastic. No matter what you order off the menu it will be heavenly. Drinks were top notch. Great wine selection as well. Service was top notch. The views are some of the best in Cabo for sure. Definitely a memorable dinner here. If you’re reading this just do it. Watch for influencers in the wild down at the beach from the balcony trying to take photos with the view haha
Manta is located at The Cape, a Thompson hotel. It is particularly known for its Japanese and Peruvian influences and that was exactly the vibe that I got. Our server Daniel was absolutely amazing. He was so nice, knew the menu very well and overall was wonderful. Our food was quite delectable. I had the lettuce tacos which were seasoned perfectly. For dessert, my boyfriend and I shared the tres leches was to die for. A great way to start off our trip. My only regret is not having an earlier reservation to catch the sunset and views of the El Arco!
5-star experience. What a gorgeous setting- classy and serene. We sat on the balcony and watched sunset over the ocean. Service was wonderful. Recommend doing the tasting menu to try a wide range of menu options. Each dish was thoughtful with complex and amazing flavors. The tres leches was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. A very memorable experience and hope to return.
We had an incredible time and meal at Manta! My partner and I did the 5 course tasting for a total of 10 items off the menu and it did not disappoint! The drinks were flavorful and creative -unlike anything i have tried before. The portions were generous, especially for a tasting, and the price was well below what we expected -a wonderful surprise! The staff was friendly and welcoming, offering great service and helped with all of our questions. The space was well thought out and gorgeous, and the view..... WOW! We will certainly be back!
The views from the balcony of this restaurant blew my mind. Gorgeous sunset, crashing waves and surfers in the water. Our server, Leonel, saw us taking photos of the view and proactively offered to take a sunset photo of us posed by the railing, which was much appreciated. Our favorite dishes were the Peruvian Ceviche, Melon Salad and Korean Fried Chicken. Over a week later and I'm still craving this melon salad, and I'm not usually a fan of melon! Top-notch service provided by a wondeful server. Thank you, Leonel!
Manta is located in the lobby floor of The Cape with a trendy chic decor that incorporates beautiful natural wood and organic design touches. The restaurant has stunning views of Cabo San Lucas and has an outdoor seating area overlooking the ocean. The food is ingenious and a refreshing change of pace from days of traditional Mexican food. There is also a fairly extensive and nicely curated wine list. Raúl and Alan were our servers and they provided attentive, knowledgeable service and ensured we had a memorable dining experience. I can highly recommend Manta for a unique culinary experience and an overall superb evening.
We dined at Manta in the Cape Hotel this week during our stay in Cabo. What an experience... a bit on the pricey side, but all things considered, worth every penny... read on! The first thing you notice about Manta is the absence of color or anything on the walls... everything is painted black! As explained by our waiter Sergio, the idea is to allow patrons to focus exclusively on the beach and ocean before you, without distraction. You have to see it to get it... it works! Segio was great all evening... attentive, but not intrusive. He did a wonderful job of guiding us through the menu based upon our discussions about what we like and/or don't like. Thank you for a wonderful evening, Sergio! We started with a cocktail, Avocado Cocktail and the Mezcal Negroni. Both were delicious, but as dinner progressed, we decided to peruse the wine list, and settled on a beautiful Henri Lurton Chenin Blanc, Valle San Vicente, MX. The bottle was perfectly cellared and served at the right temperature. It was awesome... The food parade began with some complimentary chips and salsas, the chips were made of blue corn and rice. The chips were super light and airy, and the salsas were sublime. Flavors were intense and deep. Very good start to the evening! The courses to follow included the Tuna Sashimi. The fish was "melt in your mouth," and paired exquisitely well with the sides. Ensalada Melon followed, cantaloupe and honey dew melon, tiger's milk, yuzu and peppermint... WOW! Next up was the Mushroom Ramen soup. The soup was easily one of the best bowls of ramen we have ever had. It was divine! Seemingly endless layers of flavor, every bite was savory. Octopus Anticucho followed, with pasilla peppers and chorizo mayo... the BOMB! Unfortunately, we didn't save room for an entree, and ended the evening with the Sticky Rice/Mango Sorbet. A wonderful ending to an exquisite meal. Highly recommend Mantra is you're in Cabo!
This restaurant was absolutely phenomenal! The food was inventive, bright and flavorful- full of incredible surprises that we will be reminiscing on for months to come. The cocktails were some of the best we’ve ever had! My husband is a chef and can be critical at restaurants sometimes, but he (and I) loved every single bite. Oh and we can’t forget the dessert- best tres leches we’ve ever had. Also- bravo to their front of house. Everyone was so kind, lovely, attentive and amazing. We will be returning here every year we come to cabo!
We missed Pujol while we were in Mexico City but pleasantly found out that the property we stayed at in Cabos has Enrique’s another restaurant - Manta. Menu is on the short side but we found it quite sufficient. Lovely tapas style of Mexican, Peruvian and Japanese fusion food. We tried the pre fixe menu and was able to sample 80% of the item on the menu between two people thanks to our waiter’s recommendation. The food is quite nicely and dessert is memorable. Out waiter/waitress Allan and Aime are super nice and attentive. Will definitely come back.
I’ve traveled all over the world for my career and this is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Faustino and Hugo are world class. They even took the time to walk us through the chefs book on how mole is created. I’d strongly recommend, but definitely do sunset on the patio if you do.
We had an amazing evening at Manta. The ambience and view are hard to beat. We enjoyed a sunset view from our dining table. Every dish was impressive and unique. The service was top notch as well. We took our servers recommendations for some dishes and they were great. I’d highly recommend dining here.
Excelente restaurante.
Simplemente espectacular El mejor pescado que he probado.
Definitely the best restaurant in Los Cabos. Not only the food and the taste are unique, but also the ambiance is excellent and the service is amazing. I visited some of the best restaurants in the area and there is not doubt that Olvera´s Restaurant "Manta" is NUMBER ONE.
During our stay at The Cape, we went to Manta twice! For our first dinner, we booked the 5-course tasting menu, which was one of the best dining experiences we have had. I highly suggest the tasting menu for your first visit as you will have plenty of optionality and food to truly explore the menu, all of which was hard to choose between because of how amazing each option sounded. The staff was amazing in guiding us through our selections when we couldn't decide, and their suggestions were extremely helpful. Alongside the priceless views, food, and atmosphere, the service at Manta was exceptional and inviting. We had several staff attending to us at all times and their attention to every detail was exceptional! Since we booked this as the first dinner of our trip, we went to many other restaurants throughout the following days, however, we couldn't help but compare other places to Manta, and nothing came close. We ended our trip with a second dinner at Manta and felt reassured in our choice as the dinner and service was amazing yet again. Manta is a must-visit for your trip to Cabo, whether you stay at The Cape or not. This one will be tough to beat!
Wow. I barely have words to express the meal we had at Manta. I will also preface by saying we have been to many upscale and starred restaurants throughout North America and Europe, and we both agreed that this dinner was in the top 3 for sure. Between the impeccable service, incredible atmosphere and views, and of course the out of this world food- everything was amazing. I was a little skeptical initially due to the multiple option tasting menu (basically you choose one of 3-4 options per course), but my wife and I each got different options and both options for each course were to absolutely die for. The tuna sashimi and fish dishes were perfectly prepared, the mushroom dumplings and watermelon salad were so unique and delicious, the rib eye was cooked to perfection, and my god the dessert- both the tres leches and miso chocolate flan were borderline orgasmic. We barely had room for dessert but we weren’t letting a single morsel of either of those go to waste. The flavors of every single dish paired perfectly and were just incredible. One area that could use improvement was the sommelier- we did not get much guidance from her in terms of pairing options. We normally would do the wine pairing option but didn’t this time as we had another event after, so just wanted a glass or two. We were handed an iPad to select a glass, despite requesting some guidance. Minute point, but there has to be some criticism when everything else is perfection. They even ensured napkins were folded upon getting up to go to the bathroom- a sign of true quality. This is an absolute must for anyone who wants one of the best meals of their life when in Cabo! I don’t know how they don’t have a star, but they deserve one 10x over if that’s what they’re going for!!!
Michelin star restaurant that truly deserves that star. The views of the coast (with the famous arch) were breathtaking. Table servers were very knowledgeable about the menu & explained everything in detail. Food was plated perfectly & was very delicious. If you're with a group, try different food choices & try each of them. You won't be disappointed. I think they change the menu every so often and that's why I need to go back to try their new food items. The Korean fried chicken, mushroom dumplings, fish tacos & short rib in a bao (my words) were exquisite! And don't forget to try their desserts too!
Tasting menu was phenomenal. The bluefin tuna sashimi, ribeye, mushroom dumplings, and tres leches cake were all 10/10. If you’re going as a couple I recommend doing the tasting menu and each getting different options for each course to try as many dishes as possible. We were both very full at the end - no need to order anything extra a la carte. Price with a few drinks ended up around $200 USD/person. Expensive but well worth it for the quality of food.
This is the move…Order the tasting and get an a la carte or two. The sauv with the first two courses was spot on and the cab/merlot was perfect for the others. We got the mushroom dumplings and Korean chicken for sides. When I say chefs kiss, that was delish. Sara was our server, request her, she gifted us incredible service 10/10. Hospitality on point! Food was delish. Compliments to the chefs. Good and consistent food. That was our favorite meal while visiting Cabo 🤌🏽
Coming to Manta was the best way to end our trip to Cabo! We had such a great experience, from the moment you enter the hotel you know you're going to have an epic time. We went for a sunset drink at the rooftop bar with great music and top cocktails, the view from there is next level. The we ended the night having a dinner we'll always remember, Gerardo and Irvin were so nice and attentive and made the experience an unforgettable one! We'll definitely come back and spread the word for people to come.
Exquisite! All of it. The atmosphere, the decor, the food, the staff and the VIEW! My God it was spectacular. Michelin level across the board. Stick with the smaller plates and the price is more than worth the experience. The mushroom dumplings and tuna Sashimi stood out but everything was incredible! Do not miss it!
I fell in love with this place that is ManTa. Cabo also has a lot of good fine dining and it's fun to visit once in a while. You can enjoy a nice meal that goes well with a modern hotel. We tried the course meal and it was all delicious. I liked the service because it was very kind and concise and everything was perfect. I strongly recommend you to try it.
This is a true luxury dinning experience with wonderful views of the Ocean! I came here to celebrate my birthday and I was attended by Gerardo who was wonderful on checking up on us and explaining the dishes the chef would cook and what to pair them with. We tried the chef tasting option which me and my boyfriend had no regrets! We were so full by the end of the tasting! I felt so special they came out with a dessert for my birthday it felt so nice just being here I didn’t want to leave! Definitely will be back thanks to everyone in the kitchen and as well as Gerardo who I will be asking for to attend me when I go back and visit!
Such an incredible experience! One of the best meals I have ever had. Our whole table had the tastings menu and each course was truly mouth-watering. I especially loved the short rib buns, fish tacos, and grilled fish. It was worth every penny. Orlando and Gerardo were especially wonderful servers.
Awesome experience. We had 12 in our group but we split into two tables of 6. From the start of the meal to the end, we were taken care of like guests in someone's home. The staff were excellent throughout, with perfect recommendations, explanations of what the dish was, and everything. We ordered so many things but the highlights were the hummus, the beets, the GUAC! Everything is very fresh, very tasty and the fusion of Mexican and Japanese works on such a good level! For drinks, you cannot go wrong. All of their cocktails were unique but man, so good! If you're in Cabo, add Manta to your list!
Excellent restaurant. Located inside the Cape Thompson Hotel this restaurant is a modern upscale dining experience. Menu has a variety of cuisines and beverages. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was the best I have had in the Cabo San Lucas area. Definitely recommend no issues.
Loved the seaweed & cucumber salad! Loved the sliced fish. He Loved the mushroom soup, but the bowl was too much. Loved the rice with cauliflower and sweet potatoes, my fav. I'd order with extra cauliflower next time. I didn't like the pork steam buns so much, and we really didn't like the fried chicken... the texture was very weird. Other than that, great experience and fireworks went off at 9pm!
Favorite meal I had in Cabo! Went with a group of 9 friends so we had a prix fixe family style dinner. They were super friendly and accommodating (gave us extra dishes due to allergy restrictions), the decor and views were amazing. All the dishes were super fresh, tasty, with decent portion size. Highly recommend.
The 4 stars will come mainly because of the ambience and decor. The place is beautiful and the service is exceptional. The food is good, but not the best for the price. I’d say the food is 3 stars, the decor, ambience and service are 5 hence the total of 4. I think if it was 10-15% cheaper it would of made more sense. I’m glad I went and explored most of their menu. Recommend only if you’ve got a lot of time in Cabo, otherwise, there are better places for incredible food!
Food is pretty good. Everything comes with some Mexican sauce and the cocktails are decent! Tuna sashimi was great. The octopus was a bit over smoked and the pork buns over salted. Nothing some sauce couldn’t help mask. Deserts were fun and the service great. The view and experience was great none the less.
Gracias
La comida no es espectacular. La vista si.
Me encanto!!!
What really stood out at Manta for me was the ocean views and the service. Our waiter was very kind. There was an allergen-related issue at our table and he & the manager were quick to make the situation right. We really appreciated that, & overall have absolutely no regrets about dining here. Definitely would recommend eating here if you’re staying at the Cape. I might have had too high of expectations for the food, but the carajillo, botanas, tuna sashimi, and affogato were all tasty!
After being to most of Enrique Olvera’s restaurants I must say that this is the one I like the least. The service and the setting are excellent, but the food somehow manages to disappoint. It has been whashed down from it mexican roots into an acceptable resort experience. There are certainly better fine dinning options in the area!
We stayed in the hotel and of course will not miss the chance to try out the dinner for my birthday celebration. 5 stars hotel dinning, 5 stars service. The portion is very small, even bit smaller that your typical fine dining in NY. We had: -the sashimi (4pieces bluefin otoro and 4 pieces akame with special citrus soy sauce and special wasabi sauce, you cannot turn down the melt in your mouth bluefin tuna) -Beetroot ceviche (basically beetroot salad, nothing special) -scallops with white sauce ( scallop sashimi with citrus dressing, fresh and recommended ) -“catch of the day” (here comes the issue. I asked what fish was the catch of the day and I was told Mexican black seabass. The texture of the fish and very mushy and a bit fishy. As a very picky fish eater, I know this is something wrong with the fish, it’s either not fresh or not properly handled. So we have to return the dish and later found out that it was a “high quality farmed fish” after inquiry. That is not acceptable for a 5 stars restaurant in my opinion. And hence I can only give 3 stars for this reviews. The cocktails are very bland /watered-down. The best part of this dinning experience is the desert which you must try! We had the sweet corn mocha, chocolate sponge cake, kiwi tart and the chef’s special chocolate cake for my bday. The desserts turned a negative experience to a very positive one. I will definitely come back just for the desserts!!!
Excelente servicio y lindo ambiente.
For a Michelin Guide recognized restaurant I expected better. First, the service was very slow, the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable, as they should be, but not overly attentive, especially for a restaurant that charges the prices that they do. The food-the sweet potato with almond mole was very good, the beetroot cebiche dish was underwhelming in flavor (some spice) but with to much acidity that wasn't very well balanced in the dish. The sashimi, ají amarillo was again very over powered by acidity and just a very common dish. The octopus anticucho was bland and poorly cooked. It needed to be cooked longer as it was clearly very chewy and served luke warm. I would recommend cooking the octopus sous vide for tenderness prior to grilling it. Wine- the wine list is extensive and has some interesting wines, but nothing I feel worth the prices the restaurant was asking..the wine prices bring a whole new meaning to "bottle shock" becuse you're totally left speechless and shocked by how expensive the wine is...including by the glass. Perhaps it was an off night for Manta, but a restaurant with this reputation should always be on point. Three star rating..at best.
My partner booked us a dinner here to celebrated my 30th birthday. The food was fantastic. All the dishes were delicious. They seated us in the beautiful window corner. For my birthday they gave me a complimentary champagne pour for just me. Most restaurants of this caliber would’ve dressed up the presentation of our dessert or even a complementary dessert. It felt a bit low effort. The food and views were great but I would probably would choose a different place to celebrate occasions!
Easily the worst food I had in all of Cabo. I had two bites of each dish and then gave up and went to another restaurant. The tomato and watermelon salad was just cut up fruit. No seasoning, no marinade. If you enjoy eating a plain tomato, head on down. The mushroom ramen had just one flavor that overpowered everything. If you enjoy drinking a soup that tastes as dynamic as plain soy sauce, this is your spot. The portions are absolutely massive. The appetizer salad feels like 4 cups of fruit. The pictures I saw online prior made it look dainty, where you could get mix of each fruit in one bite...wrong. Perhaps the other reviewers were just mesmerized by the view to notice the food. Sitting outside was definitely an amazing spot for sunset. People dining inside came outside to take selfies. So if you book the two tables at the end, just know you could have people lining up to take photos next to your table. I've traveled the world enjoying different cuisines, from street food style to Michelin restaurants. I could care less what it costs or where it is, I just want a great culinary experience. I hope they can turn it around. Zero stars for the food, two stars for the view and the lovely staff.
Beautiful restaurant and setting. I Reccomend sitting outside on the deck, great veiw of the ocean and the temperatures are very mild. Understand this is a tapas place. They don't really explain that but it is a tapas restaurant. Everything comes out in small shareable portions. One of their signature dishes is blackened octopus, the blackened spices were excellent. The friend chicken had absolutely zero flavor. The black miso cod tacos were probably the best of our order. The corn rice dish was a bit of a train wreck, just tasted like coconut. Was expecting more flavors but all you could taste was the coconut sauce. The Cape is a fabulous resort but the food from its restaurants is just abysmal. Befriended another couple that night from Seattle who ate there and asked what there thoughts were. They had NY strip and other different dishes, they thought the place not very good either (that made 4 of us). Cheers
One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. Food was brought randomly and incorrectly. Staff was rude. Drinks were watered down. Apparently charging $50 for tacos gets you a Michelin star these days. Do not come.
Poorly managed service. We ordered as a group, half got their full dinner all at once, we got apps and then no entree, and other half of their table got the rest of their food an hour later.
Nada especial. No repetiré ni lo recomendaré. Las vistas son bonitas, eso sí. Pero hay mil restaurantes con vistas bonitas.
