One of the best Chinese restaurants I have tried. Excellent service and menu. All the plates were amazing
Excellent food and service. Place is suitable for large gatherings.
So beautiful, very tasteful food with great service,
We dined here for my birthday and had such an incredible service the staff were so attentive and lovely we could not fault them. The food was absolutely incredible highly recommend the Mongolian beef we cannot stop thinking about it! The cocktails were delicious too. We had a beautiful private table and the staff brought out a lovely dessert to wish me a happy birthday they truly went above and beyond! We found the prices very reasonable and the food was amazing! We would come back to Egypt just to eat here again, Thank you for having us!
Just had dinner there. I love it. Very tasty food, excellent service. Differently on my recommendation list. Connie gave me excellent service, thanks.
Everything and everyone from the staff was beyond amazing. Starting from the hospitality, the vibes, the view to the food. It was an excellent experience
An unforgettable dining experience at 8 Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, everything was flawless — the ambiance, the service, and the incredible flavors. Every dish was a work of art, perfectly prepared and full of depth. Truly one of the best meals we’ve ever had! A HUGE special thanks to Jamie, who went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner extra special. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made all the difference. Thank you, Jamie, you made our night unforgettable! We’ll absolutely be back.
Food tastes good from appetizers to mains to dessert especially the vanilla ice cream covered with chocolate dome. The service is excellent and all was taken care of. I love the ambience at night as we are facing the Nile River. As a whole, we enjoyed everything in 8!
Visited 8 twice on our 10 day visit to Egypt. Great respite from the traditional Egyptian fare. Everything was excellent and the staff was so gracious and kind. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful. Especially liked the hot and sour soup with shrimp rather than tofu. Great value especially the noodle dishes which are enough to share.
The food was great, the ambience was very nice. A few tables were perfectly located in front of the nile. What really made our experience really special was the staff Myrna, Jamie, and Yasmin led by their kind sweet manager Chery. When they noticed I was not walking properly because of a surgery I have recently undergone, they surprised us with a dessert with “Get Well Soon” written on. They’re the true value if this place and we’re grateful to have met them.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Cairo! The atmosphere is amazing, great quality food and good portions and the stuff is really helpful. highly recommended
The place is excellent. The service was excellent as well the staffs are so kind and helpful. Very very convenient, calming atmosphere. I love the ambient settings. I will recommend this place for anyone interested in eating Chinese food. 8 is your place
Update October 2025: Exceptional Quality, service and attention to details. Highly recommended as always. Everything was perfect and super authentic. This place is absolutely worth the visit and your wallet. Best Pekin duck I've ever had in my life, don't miss out. Fried rice and noodles were delicious. Chicken sweet and sour was mind-blowing.
You can enjoy chinese cousine under modern and luxury atmosphere. It is located in the one of the best hotel in cairo, four seasons.
Fantastic Chinese restaurant very good food and excellent service
The best chinese food in cairo. I haven’t been here since 3 years , yet it continued to maintain its excellent standard. Their Dimsums are amazing. Their crème Brûlée is the best i have ever tasted. Staff are great.. they have a set menu in weekend. Its enough for 2 people.
Excellent service, friendly staff and great food. I came twice the same week and enjoyed my food both times.
Very nice menu, tasty and fresh food. It is a bit on the pricey side, but this is to be expected for a hotel.
The best Chinese in the middle east 😋... You better go there if in town... Yammy
One of my favorite spots in Cairo. One of the most amazing Chinese cuisine in the city from start to end.
The best Chinese food I had tried around the world other than Hong Kong and China. If you really want to try some good food here, the best way is to bring a Hongkonger here to have meals with you. They will advise you what kind of food you should choose to taste the genuine feel of Chinese food.
The Filipina staff in this restaurant really made this a delightful evening meal. The main restaurant was full but as we were a party of 8, they put us in a private room at the end of the restaurant. Having lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years, my expectations of Chinese food overseas is quite low. I was impressed with the dishes we had here though and the additional small things the chef and staff did. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated. Well worth a visit.
Great service from the waitresses and staff. The Chinese food was pretty good (I've had better ones, but considering this is in Egypt, it was surprisingly good). They provided us with fresh fruits for dessert, they were very tasty. Good experience. We left satisfied with happy and full tummy
sure one of the best places for chinese food in Cairo, it comes at a price of course, but food is excellent, great choice of beverages, very friendly and profesional staff, great place to spend an evening with friends. It is in the 2nd floor of the hotel, a glass front provides a wonderful view of the Nile just outside, great atmosphere.
One of the best Chinese restaurant in town. Excellent food, service, attention to the needs of the clients! Special thanks to all the staff that make this possible every single time. On Friday they do have a open buffet, very good choose, better make a reservation in advance. Just went back after the summer break and the buffet improved a lot, they had new menu and new corner for the little ones
A great Chinese restaurant with great views of the Nile. The menu offers a variety of food that also caters for the not-so-much-into-Chinese-food guests. They offered free dessert when they learned that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary!
5 stars for food quality and service. Best Asian I’ve had in Egypt to date! They make the best dumplings and the sea bass is to die for!
The best chinese restaurant in Egypt. Exquisite food, perfect service and beautiful ambiance, after all it's the Four Seasons hotel. Highly recommended for an elegant evening.
I have been to many hi end restaurant in England , Asia , Middle East and Europe but my experience at 8 was simply outstanding the food the service everything was perfect the staff energy and vibe was commendable well done our hostess name Miss Roline was super polite and very efficient , such brilliant experience , thank you .
The best Cantonese restaurant in Cairo! The service and food are top notch. Highly recommend especially for special occasions. (Try to book one of the tables that overlook the nile)
The food was delicious, one of the best Chinese food I have had in Egypt, the location and the view were amazing, staff were friendly and very helpful.
The service was excellent — the staff were truly attentive and welcoming. We really enjoyed the noodle eggplant and the sweet-and-sour chicken. The dumplings were also very good. For dessert, we tried a vanilla-and-chocolate option from the menu and it was delicious. Overall, a great experience — I would definitely recommend it.
A beautiful restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel in Cairo, Egypt. Fine dining Chinese cuisine with impeccable Service. Food presentation is good. But being from Asia, can’t say this was the best Chinese food I have eaten. But they surely did their best.
Wonderful restaurant and location overseeing the Nile river. The food was good but not superb. The service was excellent. Overall, very good dinning experience.
First of all, the quality of this restaurant is definitely among the top in Cairo, Must try: crystal steamed shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp kunafa, mapo tofu, fried rice. I eat Chinese food almost every day but the taste still amazes me, especially mapo tofu and fried shrimp kunafa. Not recommended: Peking duck 6/10, can have a try if never tried before, tbh, it is quite different from the real Peking duck. Perfect service and atmosphere, I will definitely come again.
Very good delicious amazing food. It is healthy and if you continue to follow these food for two weeks im sure you will loose five kilogrammes from your weight. But completely follow 100 percent the food all the day with little sport like walking for 45 minutes every day and see the results. Enjoy your meal and comfortable atmosphere with lovely and modern place.
I am Chinese and thought the food was great here. The service was attentive and friendly. It is quite pricey though. And I found it really weird how they only hired Asians to work in this restaurant when I saw no other Asians in any other part of the hotel.
Service is good, food is fine. But just feel surprised that the rate is not included tax when ordered (new year eve dinner 1750 EGP of set menu), and we were charged with 12% service charge, 14% vat, 12% development tax, and some DEV tax. so paid 1750* 40%+ per each… from non food related?
As an experienced Chinese food connoisseur from mainland China, I can only tell you that the food here are not that genuine, which means that you should not expect to have a wonderful Chinese food trail. Steamed Dim Sum (e.g. Lobster King dumpling, but without any technique) and soup (especially wanton soup) are the only dishes that I can recommend, cause they fit relatively well with our definition of cantonese cuisine. Be sure to keep in mind that DO NOT order Peking duck or dishes of Sichuan style, it will make you both angry and disappointed. As for fried Dim Sum and Appetizer, they are just BIG JOKE. Those who give them five stars, you are probably not able to enjoy the real essence of Chinese cuisine. Ijust feel sorry about that. To conclude, it is not a restaurant that worth a special trip here.
This is a hard review to write. Dinner for 1. Great atmosphere, deco, very friendly and professional staff. Wonderful private table w Nile view. Started well with chicken and prawn dumplings. Steaming hot. incredible mango / coconut water mocktail. Asked to leave out the chilli. Ordered 1/2 Peiking Duck - served 2 ways. Now, I lived in China for 25 years and have had a lot of duck…. This one was just ok. First course of Pancakes were nice, duck was well cut and presented nicely. Tender meat, but a bit fatty. The Sang Choi Bao was the bigger problem - very oily - I’m not sure if it was the duck or cooking oil, but the bottom of the dish was swimming in oil. Lettuce was also still very wet. Had to turn it over to get rid of the excess water. I very nicely asked the manager to show the dish to the chef. They comped me a lovely fruit platter and sorbet. I’m happy to pay for an expensive meal, but I expect the quality to meet the price. I’m afraid I would not order the duck again….
We came here for a Friday dim sum brunch. Whilst the restaurant is impeccably designed with a view of the great Nile and the service was outstanding, I was very really disappointed with the quality of the food especially for a big name such as the Four Seasons. Food was mediocre with a small variety if dim sum available, the rest of the food was the variety offered in a typical London all-you-can-eat buffet or standard Chinese takeaway. The food was salty in general over-seasoned with MSG. The whole experience would have been more authentic with a pot of tea offered on arrival with actual attention to details paid to the dim sum. Again, I could not have been more disappointed. I would not recommend this ‘posh’ Chinese takeaway to anyone.
Me and my colleagues (8 in total) The first time we dined was very impressive the waitress LIE ANN (not sure if I spelled it correctly) she's taking care of us really well. She's very accommodating and assisted us about the menus and all. We're having a great experience with her plus our orders came out really fast that I didn't even notice the time. ....Then we dined again and unfortunately she's not there, and I begun to notice the food. Sizzling beef is great and I'm very specific with the soup I ordered (very spicy) that came out just normal 🥲 the waitress understamated the spiciness I meant which I even requested and extra chili that didn't arrive at all. For the record the food is okay but honestly I didn't enjoyed much especially it takes forever for them to serve our food, we felt so tired waiting it feels forever and I should've left in the middle but was trying to be nice since the waitress seems exhausted too..
The food was average, maybe slightly above average. Unfortunately, the service was quite poor. The person who took our order came across as rude, and there didn’t seem to be proper management of reservations. We were a party of six, yet the larger tables (6–8 seats) were occupied by smaller groups of two. Which caused us to wait longer than necessary. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I would not repeat
The restaurant is beautiful, the service is excellent and the food is OK. However, there was only a set menu available for brunch with too many dishes and too much food for one person to consume. We asked for the leftovers to be boxed so we could eat them later and they refused to do so - which makes no sense because we paid for the meal. It was very upsetting to have so much food go to waste and you could see that most tables were not able to finish the food either.
Our appointment was 9:30 till 1 pm i wait outside to arrange the table till 10 pm although i pay a deposit before i come very bad experience
My expectations were low but I was still disappointed. Definitely not authentic Chinese food, tastes like it was cooked by a foreigner who has never tasted Chinese food before. Nothing I ordered was vaguely tasty and cost me EGP5000+. Terrible look on the Four Seasons for allowing their restaurants to serve food of that caliber to their patrons. Only good thing was the Filipino lady who took my order. She is lovely.
Beautiful restaurant! But the food was below average. Ordered the kung pao, chef special of beef & scallops, bbq chicken egg noodles, eggplant, tofu & duck. We ordered medium spice on all the dishes and they all tasted bland. It’s such a nice venue but with mediocre service & food. I was very disappointed!
I've been to 8 Chinese restaurant 3 times before and this was my fourth and worst experience. Food quality was really unbelievable and awful as well as the service. We kept calling the waitress to come and insolently she turned her back as if she's not seeing that we're calling her. What I'm pretty sure about is that this will be my last time to go there. I don't recommend this restaurant for anyone after what I experienced.
Quality deteriorated over the years. This restaurant used to be one of my favorites in Cairo. The food quality now is very poor, I would compare it to cheap Chinese takeout in the US, however you end up paying Nobu prices. Not going back again.
A luxurious place but the food is so bad and the meat is so bad i thought it might be doggo’s meat so bad and waay too expensive i paid 6,000 EG for 2 main dish & 2 appetisers and rice ? Workers there are so nice but the service is too slow
