Got like 40 bucks worth of food and it was ready asap. They were even running out to cars caught in line with small orders and gave them their food before they got to the window. Great service

Ordered fish & chicken breast, got home had 2 fish dinners. I called & talked to Rai, went back 3 days later got fish & chicken breast, minus 1 breast & 2 pies. We were satisfied. Thank you Rai & your team, blessings to you all.

Beat steak fried chicken liver. My favorite place to get them. And you may wait some time, since they’re getting done fresh, but it’s worth. Sweet tea is good. Fried chicken got little bit greasy compared to previous visits. But is good place to stop by.

My family loves this place. The food is always fresh and hot. Service is really good. Our favorite is the basic chicken strips with gravy and fries and fried okra. The hot rolls are just absolutely melt in your mouth divine- almost as good as Grandma's! My husband and I tried the fried chicken livers this last visit & were extremely pleased to receive juicy, whole fried livers. (Not like the 1/2's usually received & called a whole liver..) If you are looking for a great meal at a fantastic price, this is your place.. - They, also have family packs & a drive-through.

I haven't been to Chicken Express in a while and this location has excellent service. I picked up a family meal on Sunday and everything was perfect except a side was missing, but the manager Tony took care of me and he was really kind. Top notch team, will be back!

Look out! There’s a new Most Polite Chicken Establishment in town! Just have a lovely drive through experience. Everyone I interacted with was on their A game and friendly, too! The corn nuggets are fresh and the tea is perfectly sweet. This meal was “my pleasure!”

I love their Catfish! It's fried when you order it. Their fried okra is fantastic. You don't know what you're missing if you haven't tried their Cherry pie! The best anywhere. Tony is great, he's helpful, personable and always remembers me. Great experience every time I come here.

Great flavored chicken! Tea is always fresh. You can taste that the potatoes are instant, but still good - especially after adding gravy! Used to allow fundraising carwashes on the property, the last time I had need for that was 7 years ago - not certain they still do that

The location is good. The tenders were nice and hot and the gravy. I also ordered a sweet tea which to some might be too sweet but I love it. The employee seemed a bit timid and shy and we could barely understand what she was trying to say nor did she greet us coming in. But overall the food is what matters to me in which I don’t have a complaint.

I just needed a change of palate but I had them now compare to pre-pandemic, and the gravey isn't as thick as it use to, chicken isn't as spicy, or you don't get much mashed potatoes anymore. Why? But if you haven't experienced it for yourself, then you should. Ok!

Well, my experience with this restaurant is a little different. Mine has to do with training the window staff and money. I visited this location about 3 weeks ago. When I drove to the window, I was given my order; however, my change was not given to me. When I inquired about my change, the young man became totally confused and had to call 2 more workers over to assist. After the 3 of them brainstormed how much my change would be…(believe it or not), I was given the exact amount as my ENTIRE order!🥺. So, being the honest person I am, I asked to see the manager. It took awhile for the young man (manager) to come to the window. I started by saying, “I don’t want to get the young man working the window in trouble; however, he could certainly use some additional training. Who knows how much $$ this location has lost. So, I explained the situation to the manager. My change should have been around $1.36; however, I was given $24 and some change. I could have driven away; but, my conscience would not allow me to. I felt sorry for the window clerk. After the manger heard my story, he thanked me, gave me the correct change and said, “I will take care of you on your next visit.” But, he never asked my name or got ANY information from me. Not every customer would have been so honest! PLEASE adequately train these young workers!!!😳

Fish is way too salty. This has happened several times, after ordering. The fish cannot be enjoyed with all the salt. This is awful for anyone with high blood pressure. Even my 18 year old son said that it’s too salty. It cannot be eaten this way. LAY OFF THE SALT!! I did not pay all this money for this overly priced food to feed it to the trash can.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Customer service I asked the lady at the drive-thru window with the short ponytail how was she doing because apparently she wasnt going to ask me, when I came to the window all she said was $8 then when she didn't respond to how are you doing I asked her again and she rudely said what then mumbled good and still proceeded not to have customer service absolutely disgusting attitude.

We used to go to Chicken Express all the time, but this location is the WORST regarding time. We would order their 10 pc dark special and they would always say that there was a 20 minute wait... always! Now, they don't have that special... and we all know the chicken is overpriced... so ... great rolls thougg... and great tea... and I love their chicken breasts bc they're not dry... too bad I won't be back any time soon.

It's always something wrong in Cedar Hill TX. This time it's a missing side, we had to drive back and they don't BELIEVE us! They finally agree and give it to us. This visit was not good. Only drive thru service. Understandable, but the line still barely moved. They also ran out of chicken strips. The drive through experience took 25 mins. Good chicken, but if the line is long, choose another location or different restaurant altogether.

I don’t know why you have fried pickles on the menu if 60% of the time your going to tell me you can’t make them. Employees will close the restaurant early many nights a week. Management clearly doesn’t monitor employees well because the only reason they won’t serve the pickles is because it takes extra time

Food was of poor quality and the service was below average. Whatever crew they had working together tonight, they don’t need them working together smh, my order was wrong and when I called in three times while I was sitting outside nobody answered the phone. I had to get back in the drive thru line and wait another 15 mins. The young ladies rendered horrible service. I know they recognized me from 15 mins ago, so playing country dumb and then having your manager come to the window and speak to me in an aggressive tone was not the way to go. First and last time service like that will get by me from this location.

Went thru the drive-thru in Cedar Hill and while the young man at drive-thru window was nice, the manager on duty was completely rude to both myself and his worker. So much so that I canceled my order and got a refund. I ordered chicken & corn fritters. Manager got order wrong and when the worker told him, he became irate with the worker. No thank you.

I frequent this location bc it’s right by my house. Today, the woman who took my order was kinda rude. I’ve worked in food service. I know it’s hard. So I didn’t think anything of it. Then I got to the window, the woman who cashed me out was so rude. She had long red hair and glasses. I didn’t understand why she was acting like that. My order was easy, I was polite. I was so confused. Said thank you and she just slammed the sliding window and walked away. I don’t usually even write reviews. But this interaction kinda upset me.

The restaurant was very clean, dining and restroom. The staff was very friendly and attentive. However, the meal itself was a major disappointment. The 4 tenders from the #1 were so small, it felt like it should have been reserved for a kids meal. The gravy was so watery I probably could have drank it through a coffee stirring straw. Definitely not worth the value. Highly doubt I'll be back.

This is my "4" piece meal!! I have been saying I would never go back because they continue to forget my ranch dressing with my fried pickles. Today no ranch with my cheese sticks I got on the side. Stopped by for some fried okra a day fried pickles. That's the nastiest okra and pickles I have ever had. It's like if I ordered chicken it didn't ever have okra flavor they both tasted like salty chicken. And super greasy

This chicken express is horrible. They employee will sit and eat while you are in the drive thru waiting and it takes them and excessive amount of time to get your food to you. Not only does it take them forever they have horrible attitudes, and my food was cold when I got it. I will never come back to this chicken express.

Went there today at 425 pm ordered 2 combo meals was asked to pull up front after waiting 30 min and no one came out to bring our food we tried knocking on the door no one ever came 15 min late a young girl came out with a order for the lady behind us at this point we asked for a mgr the girl that was working the door tried to blame the reason being that someone was new in the drive thru (she said something very rude as I walked away )once the mgr came we were told that the cooked wasn’t told to drop more food they clearly didn’t have there stories straight cause when we were in the drive thru all the young kids were on there phones which explains why we waited so long after talking to the mgr we were told we could have our money back and the food but it would be another 20 min re refused we wanted our money back I’ve been coming here for years and will never return clearly they need adult mgrs and not children

The service was horrible. Ordered catfish dinner and waited for 20 minutes and the food was cold. I went in and gave it back only to see the kids playing and the young lady was mopping the floor and stopped to go help fix an order without washing her hands.

Ordered a 3 piece fish. 4 cars were in front of me. It literally took about 40 minutes to get my food. While waiting, it took about 4 minutes to get a refill on tea. Then to add insult to it, a worker said to my son, this if he is waiting on fish, he is lucky to be getting some because we are cooking the last of it now.

Order a thigh, wing & breast got home and only had thigh and wing. Drove back was told they didn't have any breast but I was charged for it so I said because I had to come back they could give me an extra piece of chicken and the manager said no you can only have one piece so I got another thigh. The service was very bad. I told her I wasn't coming back and that I would tell my family, friends not to come to that Chicken Express.

I have always went to this location in cedar hill for tasty fried chicken. Today however will be the last time I go there. The prices changed and it wasn’t reflected on their drive thru menu it was shown on the to go menu only. The chicken, fried pickles, and gravy were so spicy I got sick to my stomach. I ordered non spicy food and got food so spicy I couldn’t eat it. Maybe you need to redo some recipes and make it enjoyable for everyone that wants to eat instead of catering to those that like spice. I was very disappointed cause their chicken normally is very good but it was just so gross this time. Please if you want decent fried chicken go to kfc or chik fila!

Just left the place about 10 minutes ago and I am so disappointed in that restaurant!!! I witnessed this young lady without a hairnet and her hair was flying all over the place!!! But that's not the worst thing!!! I witnessed her dropping a piece of meat on the floor, she picked it up and placed it on the customers box!!! When I saw that I told my husband lets go ... didn't order anything and never coming back to that particular place!!!!

The service was absolutely horrible. The food was cold and old. The Chicken Express in cedar Hill has went down. I tried it recently after saying I would never come back again to see if they had improved and it is still terrible would not recommend it to anyone.

Ordered 3 piece meal & a tinder dinner Tenders overpeppered Biscuits undercooked. Chicken dry And okra is so overdone that it was baisicly dehydrated. And the customer service was as dry as the chicken. Not worth the money that we paid for and will not be back.

Terrible service. Employees do not speak when you come to the drive thru window. They do not thank you after they give your change & receipt. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but each time I go I get the same type of service. This will definitely be my last time.

First of all, I waited 7 minutes in line. I ordered 2- two piece dark, leg and a thigh.i paid for my food after 10 minutes I was told the thighs weren’t ready yet, did I want a breast I said I would wait. Now as I was waiting at least 5 cars had left with large orders. After 15 minutes someone asked what I ordered, I told them and they wanted me to pull up, I said just give me a refund. They asked for my receipt which showed zero, smh. I paid cash 6.44 they handled me 6.00 back. I told them there was some change owed back, the kid that took my money, tried to give me money from his pocket, I told him to keep it and drove off. I tried to call the restaurant at least 7 times and it stated the mailbox wasn’t set up. How do you have a business and no one can reach them. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!’

This will be my absolute last time spending money at this location. Cedarhill chicken express has failed me numerous of times, but this time they downright ROBBED me. Last night I ordered two 7 piece chicken strip meal’s and a three breast meal. Instead I got two 4 piece chicken meals, with two rock hard burnt biscuits, and I’m not exaggerating the type a biscuit you can throw it against the wall and it would not break. The fact that they would even serve that to me as a loyal customer is absolutely unacceptable and disrespectful this is the second time this has happened to me in the past month and it will be the last. The three breast mills were absolutely cold to the touch. I used to work in a similar chicken Place and there is a time limit that you can have the food to be served without making a new batch and trashing the old, I could tell for a fact that that was an old batch that should’ve been thrown away hours ago. I will make sure to tell everyone I know and my family members who eat their regularly, Who eat there more than twice a week to not go to this location again. We are better off going to the new raising cane‘s that will never serve cold hard food. What makes all of this even worse and what made me come make a review, is the fact that I could not get anyone at all to answer the phone to fix this for me. I called for the next hour or two until they closed. Still never received one answer. Despite their live hourly sales online saying they were slow. Instead of me splitting our two 7piece meals with our kiddos, I did as any mother would, and gave my babies the food I went to bed hungry because I was not able to get back out and confront them about this and no one answered the phone. Someone from corporate really needs to evaluate the stores business I have looked at the reviews on here and it is ridiculous how unsatisfied our community is with the store. At this point for them to up their pricing is absolutely ridiculous for lower service. What is their business,? Is it to serve as high-quality meals like their website says, or is it just to rob us of our money. Someone needs to reach out and make this right I am very upset and disappointed!

We went around 1pm today (10/23/2021) We ordered livers and gizzards. He informed us it would be a wait. It was exceptional long but the customer service was the worst I think I have ever received. I understand they are young but to not smile, or say Thank you, or Welcome to Chicken Express. He just looked until we stated our order. We were like OK. When the kid brought our food out. I asked him did he put my hot sauce and ketchup in the bag. He said Yes ma'am. I immediately went thru the bag, no ketchup or hot sauce. I drove back around to the window. I stated, I didn't receive my ketchup and hot sauce. No response just handed it out the window. Young people, everyone is hiring if you do not like your job, quit and find something you are happy with.

I’ve been coming to this location since high school. The customer service has definitely tanked since it’s changed ownership. I went through the drive thru today to place an order. The girl taking my order was very slow. They didn’t have an item I wanted to order so I changed that part of my order, no problem. When the worker asked me what I’d like to drink, I told her a strawberry soda. Every chicken express I’ve ever been to has strawberry soda, including this one. The worker rudely tells me they don’t have it and that all the drinks are listed on the bottom of the menu. I can read. It’s never been on the menu that I know, but they’ve always had it. Anyway, there’s a more polite way to speak to a paying customer. I cancelled my order and left. I won’t be back.

Went there the other evening through drive thru, while attempting to order my food I was constantly rushed to order my food mind you I was only in line for maybe a minute or two. There were literally no other cars so I didn't understand the rush. After telling the person who takes the order several times that I'm still looking she continued to keep rushing me. After placing my order the lady asked with an attitude what sides I wanted. At that point I didn't feel safe eating food with someone like that handling my food. You hear stories like that all the time about people spitting, dropping your food, etc.... I left and took my business elsewhere.

This is the second time I get my order wrong in two weeks. Both of the time I have called to explain the situation and the manager almost instantly offered to replace the order if I was to drive back. I live 20 minutes away I would like for the order to be right the first time so I don have to drive back and waste 40 minutes of my day. I expressed that to the manager and she felt offended. We visited the location in Cedar Hill. In the past we have always gotten good service good food for a fair price. On our last visit they could not fill our order they did not have enough a chicken. The manager's tone of voice was very rude. We were prepared to order something different. The manager said very rudely he could not help us. We then left and will never return.

Terrible customer service. I asked for 7 tenders, fries, a roll, and a biscuit. I got chicken fingers, okra, and only a roll, but still got charged for my desired order. The person handling my food was on his phone with it held up to his ear, and no one working seemed interested in being there. Has been going downhill rapidly since covid began and shows no sign of improvement.

The food is always delicious, hot and as ordered. However, on my last visit at the drive thru, the young woman taking our order said, "is that all?", After each item we ordered. I felt like asking her if she wanted that to be all. Not good customer service -- just thought you should know.

The wait was long. Finally got my food realized I didn't get rolls. Then got home to realize I didn't get gravy with my mashed potatoes and the little bit of gravy I got for the chicken spilled in the bag because the lid was not on all the way and put in sideways. Some of the chicken was over cooked. Will never come back to this location again.

My BESTFRIEND waited in line for 45 mins only to get some hard tenders for our family. We called back the customer service we received from the manger was HORRIBLE. Im not sure how he’s made it this far but the leadership of this store most definitely need to be changed. It’s so many children working they are lost and confused, I’m not a complainer I absolutely believe in giving someone grace but the way this situation was handled totally unacceptable. I really hope you guys see this and change something looking at the other reviews this comment isn’t new so I really hope you change something.

I've never had a great experience here. My very first time eating here a few years back, I ordered an OVERPRICED 2 piece dark and ended up having food poisoning. I recently came back to give them another shot because my buddy told me to just try the chicken tenders. They are ok, but all of the food lacked flavor and yet again is overpriced. The staff has low customer service skills and they're always rude.

Service is important when choosing a spot to spend on dinner. We had bad experience here once with cashier having bad attitude and got order wrong. Decided to give it another shot last night and was rejected service. Business shows closing time at 10, pulled into drive thru at 9:35 and no response on menu, so pulled up to window only four a young lady to tell me that they were closed. I respectfully responded saying but there's still 25 min til 10 and my pregnant wife was craving this spot. All she said is "sorry, will be open at 10:30 tomorrow morning." SMH

Highly disappointed in the visit to this location. Fried pickles were horrible and waaayyyyy too salty and greasy. It took 15 minutes just to get family fried pickles, a roll, and a cookie that was EXTREMELY HARD. I understand that you are going through a remodel , but you still don't get a pass on horrible food. First and last visit.

Went to this location on Sunday around 2:30 and had to go thru the drive thru because the lobby was closed. The line was long but it was fine because I know with Covid everyone is short-handed anyway we finally get to order only to be told that it would be 20 minutes on Chicken, we said ok that's fine and the girl on the speaker said y'all are going to wait? We said yes, drive up to the window she takes our money and have us drive to the front to wait. A few minutes later another car parks in the side of us and asked us how long did she say the wait was, we said 20 minutes well they told us 30 minutes. Then another car also pulled up and they told her 30 minutes as well, anyways it 3:10 so my husband went to knock on the door to see how much longer, and was told we haven't even dropped the chicken yet..WHAT!!!, it was about 6 people working and with no one in the lobby this was just unbelievable, we asked for a refund and left, total time wasted was 55 minutes. Just go somewhere else because the service here has really gone down hill. I understand that it's been tiring for a lot of workers but this was totally unacceptable. I don't know who owns this location but they will be out of business soon with the crew.

If I could give them zero stars I would. This place is horrible. The food isn't fresh. I waited over 27 minutes for fried pickles that I never received. The manager told me they forgot about me and my order. Then, she laughed and talked mess with another employee. This is ridiculous! I would never patronize this establish again.

We went before hitting the road home after thanksgiving with family and spent 90 something dollars. The girl at the drive thru had piss poor customer service and also had her phone in her hand. I said something to her how unprofessional it was having phone in hand while handling someone’s debit card. She apologized and now we are at this situation where I have obscene amount of doordash charges and shein charges from cedar hill Texas and I do not even live there. The girl took a picture of the card information. Please be careful if u go there oh and the food is not good at all you are better off going to Popeyes

Never Again!! Ordered catfish family dinner and 7 tenders. Got 8 piece chicken dinner. My fault for not checking. I should have known the lady taking my order was mad at the world and not the least bit concerned for the order. She was ripping the receipts off and even throwing things. Never Ever Again!!!

This location needs to train their staff. So I went to order 5 meals. I don't think that's too many to order. I was telling my order one meal at a time, although they were almost all the same, only difference were the drinks and some spicy. The guy taking orders was so confused. He kept re asking me my order even though I repeatedly said each meal one by one. At the end, he had I ordered 7 meals. I only ordered 5. So we went over each again. Still didn't get it correct. I got to the window and paid, the receipt clearly says they charged me for 6 meals. The guy at the window said no it was only 5. I showed him the receipt and he still said 5 meals but the receipt shows I paid for 6. Then after he looked it over and over he said oh okay I see. So do you want a refund. I told him I've been in this line so long I guess I'll keep the meal I didn't order but paid for. Then he refused to give me my 6th drink. He asked to see the receipt again. I get home to find my order wrong. The items I ordered spicy were not spicy!!! Everything was original! On top of that, they gave me 7 meals! So I'm sitting here with 2 extra meals I did not want. In summary, I ordered 5 meals, paid for 6 meals and was given 7 meals which were wrong! It shouldn't be this difficult to order 5 meals. This location is horrible. They need to more training!

They suck! Bought my food back and requested fresh food because the original order was hard and overcooked. After they took the ruined food and stated a 10 minute wait time. 18 minutes later we were advised there was a miscommunication with their cook and they were just now recooking the food. It smelled like old mop water and the staff was trash. Make a drive a bit further for better quality

I had no idea the prices had jumped so high. Got a tender dinner to share with my godson, which I’ve done so many times before, and the last I recall my total was around $12/13. Today the total was $17 after tax. Had I not already promised him this like we used to do I would have just spent regular money to go somewhere else. After a long wait the food I received wasn’t even fresh. Congratulations, I won’t be coming back. I can’t believe I paid so much money to have to have a long wait for lukewarm food.

This place horrible the service was bad. The manager I guess older Hispanic guy acted like he didn't want to open his mouth at the front counter made me wait on cold food. And I was done I walked to the counter for a refill he saw me and started walking towards me and a young co worker got his attention and I was standing there while they were talking I just three my cup away and left. Drove from Lancaster, TX to Cedar Hill, TX for a $50 drive-thru order—15 minutes later rcvd order drove bk to Lancaster, order incorrect missing everything. Had to drive back and wait 20 more minutes to fix it. New Year’s Eve, no line, yet the staff couldn’t handle a simple order. Unacceptable & Completely incompetent.

Came through the drive thru for 2 3 piece fish dinners with green beans, got all the way home and started eating and the fish tasted like NOTHING! So I called to let the store know, took a few times before they answered, the young lady was very nice when answered and I explained to her what happened. She took my name and said they didn’t “marinate” it properly and that they’ll be happy to replace both dinners and give me a gallon of tea. So I came the next day and the guy at the counter asked me what my name was, I told him, he said “6 fish” I said 2 (3) piece fish dinners. So they gave me the gallon of tea and 2 boxes with fish only and told me “you gotta pay for the sides” I said WHO? You gave me food I couldn’t even eat yesterday and she said she’d replace both dinners which includes SIDES! The unprofessional mgr was talking from behind the wall and said you gotta pay for the sides. I said how does that make any sense? Don’t worry about it, I’ll get you where it counts. And I’ll call back when you’re not here. HORRIBLE experience because I don’t live right up the street. Won’t be returning after speaking to the manager.

Usually Chicken Express at Mansfield/Arlington has always been decent. 1st time at this location Cedar Hill on way home. When I asked to make sure on roll count, window closed on me when the young lady determined she answered me. Called her back. Seemed miffed. 40 bucks and can't assure me order right. Nice man cashier but couldn't explain why I didnt see my 6 ct rolls. So young lady came in to explain that 1 in meal box, extra 2 in bag x 2 meals. However, both my sons told me like 30 min ago just now only gravy and NO mashed potatoes. I asked man from get-go for 7 strip dinner with mashed potatoes with 3 total sides and 2 extra rolls. Then decided on same second order. Just learning today no mashed potatoes and that was first side I asked for. Would just like order right even if that takes you 1 more minute to listen to customer. Also, my son said the strip batter not good either. So that's that. Prior reviews are aren't wrong. This place not paying attention to make orders right, just taking our $$. Main entree batter lacking. This isn't good service nor food for the price. I won't be back. Is this why there was no line like at Popeyes just 2 spots down? Lesson learned. Do better Chicken Express to train your workers that it matters what level of service they give.

I came here after work to order a meal. I ordered the spicy chicken tenders with corn nuggets and a roll. Not even an hour later, I started feeling SICK! Early the next morning (this morning), I was vomiting through my nose and mouth with the same spiciness burning my throat. It lasted through the afternoon. I won't be coming back.

My child was eating a roll and bit something hard, he spit it out and I found a freakin fingernail in it. I called the store to report it, and they said there was really nothing they could do about it. I was told to come by the store tomorrow, the general manager would be visiting. I definitely will be there!!!

I've been to this location 3 times and everytime I've had to go back because my order is missing something. Once they forgot to put my rolls and 2 of my sides for my family order of chicken. Tonight they actually got my order correct, but my order seemed tossed together without care ( see photo). The gravy was crushed into the box and the biscuit looked like a hockey puck. The gravy was watery. It almost looked like water had been added to some whiteout and pepper. I will not be returning to this location.
