Ok I went to try this place out bc I would see the lines as I drove by. Lines means they have something worth waiting. Tried one of each item on the menu. Every thing was amazing. I will make this a favorite for sure. If you like beef birria you will love this place.

Great food. Their beef tacos, burritos and quesadillas are great. The hot sauce is great. And there is a broth you can get with the food that’s makes the meal worth 5 stars. Had food for my friends birthday dinner and everyone was rave about it, from the veggie quesadillas to the broth. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back.

Ordered at the drive thru. Got the complex order right first try. Only birria meat in different forms. Quesotaco was average. Mini quesadilla is great and closer to the quesotacos I’ve had before.

Just went for the first time. LOVED it. I got the deluxe plate-- very flavorful, very satisying- and then the soup! Everything was hot, ready to serve, a very simple menu but busting with its own flavor. Good salsa, which is something you gotta have- I think Teddy's is going to do well.

Great tacos! They are small so usually we eat 3 or 4 each person. I love the flavor of the red sauce the tortillas are dipped in. Some people might be disappointed that they only have one style of taco (but they do have other items), but if you like Mexican street tacos you'll like this!

They staff was nice and helpful. The tacos were amazing, as well as the horchata. The downside is the extra charge for using your card PER ITEM, without even telling you. We didn't see the small sign next to the pickup window, not the ordering window. Also, they don't accept cash unless you have exact change. I don't know about you, but I don't know what is going to be until we all order....

The food here is great! We got the combo which includes a taco, a quesadilla, a mulita, and a crunchy taco, along with the delicious consome and some chips. All this for $13. Not bad at all. Tables were clean and they have several eating areas. There is a clean bathroom too. Best of all, it's close to home.

Birria is amazing here bit their customer service is slow. A register closed and instead of changing windows, they were taking orders and handing out orders from the same window. On top of this, the drive through is not open.

This is my go to spot now for my hangover days. The deluxe plate is a great deal, it includes: a quesadilla, 2 tacos, mulita, tostadas, and an 8oz cup of birria broth. This is the 2nd best birria place I've had. Unfortunately the #1 birria I've had was made by a lady who went back to Mexico 😭 but this place is definitely great. The broth at Teddy's is just a tad bit saltier than I'd like, but it's still very good.

I heard positive things about Teddy's and wanted to check it out for myself. I went through the drive thru, and the place wasn't very busy. I ordered the best selling platter, it comes with a little bit of everything. It was greasy, but it was pretty good. The meat was really tender and juicy. I think the tacos were better by themselves and not dipped in the consomme. The consomme was too greasy and salty for my taste. Overall, the food was good. I would definitely eat here again.

(Tostada) Second one was like the folded ones only with cheese melted on the insides of the tortilla, lightly fried to give it just a touch of crispy crisp, also loaded with birria and flavor. (Beef Quesadilla) The third types on my plate were just like my wifey's, which was their signature street style tacos. third & fourth were their signature tacos (Taco & Mulita) Place was organized, clean, walk up window service which was professional. Over hyped.. Food is good but not great. Please clean your restroom and get my order right. Dirty tables.. Not happy with my visit. They hyped this place so I expected more.

The food is good and the lines are long. They are still relatively new. They have not figured out how to serve thier customers hot food. My last three trips, my food has been utterly ice cold.

Food was good but the customer service there needs improvement, the first time we went, I figured they were like that because it was super packed, so I understood. The quality of the food is decent, but the price and the portions needs work. I got a Mulita, a beef quesadilla, a Vampiro and a small broth for almost $15 dollars. Seems like a good lunch, so I thought, but those 3 items were just birria street tacos with cheese, maybe with an extra tortilla. Reminds me of In-n-out, fresh, quick and concise, but lacking the appreciable price or the feeling of a fulfilling meal part.

Came to this spot because of the IG hype. This place has too many issues. # 1 The drive-thru was closed. #2 The parking lot was too small. #3 There was no curbside pickup. #4 The prices on the menu are weird and make no sense at all #5 Pay with cash because they charge you a 4% surcharge. This place has too much hype. The tacos are ok. Too much oil. I will point out one thing. The Jamaica and Consume are the only thing good. Nothing really stands out. I do not recommend. Too expensive.

12/24/23 food is good but the guy taking the orders is rude doesn’t understand what we want. we ordered 4 tacos plain and 4 with everything and he doesn’t comprehend he is like how many tacos total? then he says all plain right? He then proceeds to tell us ima just give you all plain lol , this never happened before they’ve never had a problem taking orders by the person..and if you want crunchy taco ask for “tostada” not “dorado “says the guy

We love this place. But today we got 20 tacos with no salsa no cilantro all plain. On top of that we were missing 2 tacos. Trying to call in and the number sends you straight to voicemail. So can’t even ask them to replace them. I don’t wanna drive 30min back. Super Disappointed

Taste was good. Service was good. Tacos were soggy. Mulita was tasty and crispy. Tostada was soggy. They offer no sides, Wish they had rice at least. Might go back there, but not any time soon.

Teddy’s Red tacos at South Gate location is way better then this one the restaurant is smaller but they know how to serve you better and the food is way better so next time go to south gate location.

Did a door dash order and put it for pick up then I go to drive thru lady says a door dasher took order then refused to even help , Sunday nov 5. She just kept arguing that it was picked up by another dasher when it couldn’t be when it was for pickup should be more careful.

I Visited this location in Downey today and this was my first visit and I am very disappointed in a couple of things. The portions are very small but I paid $4 dollars for a quesadilla that is almost as small as a taco and it was just like a folded up taco it was no melted cheese anything like a quesadilla for $4 dollars I could’ve just gotten all tacos. The tacos were perfect they were actually good but I’m very disappointed that I paid almost $11 for three tacos and a quesadilla and the quesadilla was not what it was supposed to be. My second issue was the girl that took my order had an attitude because we were all in line and we only stepped up to the front when she asked because that’s how she’s aaa assisting the customers There was 3 people ahead of me and one guy behind me She took the first two she and she was multitasking by taking orders from the drive-through as well so we didn’t step up until she asked us too. One lady came out of nowhere walked up and ordered some food and we were standing there like we’re all in line waiting to place our order, not that it was the customers fault because she probably thought we were just waiting on our food but it was up to the cashier to say oh wait a minute I haven’t taken their order we had been standing there so she was very aware that she hadn’t Taking our order. So instead of saying wait I’m sorry let me take them first she continued to take the ladies order as we already been waiting for a long time so when I said something like excuse me we’re ready to order and she caught like an attitude and I said well we’ve been in line to order and you took that lady first. I just didn’t like her attitude she didn’t say I am so sorry you’re absolutely correct she said oh well I didn’t know that she didn’t get in line and I’m like but we’ve been standing here so you know she didn’t get in line and you know you haven’t taken our order. so that didn’t go over too well because she still never apologized and she had an attitude when she took my order. Terrible. I went today with a friend and we ordered together around 9:50 pm. We ordered before our friends but they got all of their food before us & we thought it was because we ordered more food but apparently they didn’t know our order never came out. They questioned us as if we were lying and continued to ask if we were being serious. They then went to the back and asked the cooks and then came back and told us they can no longer give us our food bc they turned off the stoves and that it was too late. They then said the most they can do for us was give us some consome with tostadas knowing that that wasn’t worth the money we originally paid. They were very rude as well and did not even apologize to my friend and I. They also usually close at 11 pm but hurried us off at 10:16. Terrible customer service

This place is over hyped. The tacos by themselves are already expensive. They overcharge for every little item you add cheese, that’s almost $1.50 extra per taco just for cheese. The birria honestly, tastes horrible. On top of that the birria isn’t even made from goat, yet they claim to be authentic. Don’t waste your time and money at this spot.

It's ok, cousin was going berserk over this place since he had been the one in Venice Beach. I had it, but to be honest it was greasy and just a mess. Had a taco and a quesadilla and felt it was more like slop than anything else. It will definitely be a "nope" for me anytime this place comes up as a food option.

Just went to the Downey location. First time trying Teddy's Red Tacos in Downey. As I ordered I was told the prices posted were wrong that the tacos would cost $1.20 more per taco as of today 2/26/23. I ordered anyway to my surprise the tacos were extremely tiny and the tostada was the same size as the tacos just fried about the size of the Palm of my hand. I was laughed at by my friends asking me where did I go! The worst part is I paid the additional price for a disappointing dinner.

Bad service order was incomplete. I ordered through drive thru and when I got home I was missing 2 beef quesadillas. I immediately called them but their phone is not working it clicks on me. So now we are short two quesadilla yet they still charged to me. That they didn't forget. They deserve no stars in my opinion.

Service here is despicable. I worked customer service for years so I’m always friendly on the other side . The women taking orders on drive through was rude . We had a few questions as it was our first time here & she was impatient with us . Food was OK . Definitely the last time here . Game up on service guys , your customers depend on it .

I placed an order with post-mates and the delivery guy said the restaurant didn’t give him the drink, idk how this works who’s fault it is. Not cool when paid many fees and not getting your complete order plus Uber or postmates don’t want to return the money

Drive through had cars in it but they were parked so no drive through. Bland greesy food. Basically the same meet cilantro onions folded in "fancy" diped tortillas folded 4 different ways. 3 plats for $65....well I tried it. Thats it. I had to give 1 star to comment. Hype don't believe it.

The place was empty. I wanted to get back in the car and go somewhere else but decided to try this place out. My family and I ordered food. The cashier never informed about $1.09 refills for fountain drinks. The consome was salty, and the birria was dry, and the salsa tasted old, wasn't even spicy. The beans were cold and rice was okay. I would never come back. Spend your money elsewhere. I was very disappointed with my visit. The employees looked like they didn't wanna be there, we didn’t get a thank you or a welcome.I would never come back again.

I was waiting in line to order for 3 minutes asked the young lady Breanna if they were open as she was cleaning, she ignored me and then decided 2 minutes after to take my order. Another employee was next to her drinking a soda and started laughing. She was taking my order with an attitude no customer service, food is always delicious but the service was awful never again coming to this location.

I was here to try it out, like any other business that grows they lost the touch and the flavor just wasn't there and I also ordered a burrito, it was like 90% rice and beans 10% meat.

I went with a few dollars to enjoy some birra n I bought the medium with consomme with meat and I got home to literally one spoon full of meat only in the broth . I was disappointed. I hope the manager does some about this . Foods the best tho .

Mediocre service on the best of days. All my orders have had at least one problem. The latest issue: Ordered 20 tacos with cheese. Received only 18 tacos with no cheese. Charged $.50 per taco for cheese so that's $10 I will not get back. Burned Tortillas were loosely thrown into the bag. Ok food but not worth the trouble. Gave them multiple chances but will not return

I got up from the table and i ask the cashier if it was a taco dorado and she said it was semi dorado in the menu they have no such thing as a semi dorado ni que fuera una llanta semi nueva. The table was dirty the employees were just talking in the back like they were in a park. I ask for a rag to clean the table instead of having them clean it she gave me the rag to clean it myself and kept talking in the back They were not busy when I was there. The food was not good but I thank god I had something to eat.
