If I could give infinite stars to Boomtown Lounge & Backyard I would. I'm not surprised for a second that this remarkably special place has only 5 star reviews. It is so deserving of this and more. One week later, I'm still thinking about the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We wandered into town, looking for food, and stumbled upon what ended up being not just an amazing meal but an overall wonderful experience and lasting memories. Immediately, the two amazing people working welcomed us like they were welcoming us into their home. They were close to closing for the evening but that didn't stop them from offering us delicious drinks and offering to prepare a combination of delicious food. They didn't quite have every dish available to try, but close. We walked away with some brisket, pulled pork, sausage, slaw, rolls, and potato salad. I like BBQ but can't say I love it? This, I loved. I loved every single item. And dare I say, it felt healthy? How, I don't know and frankly I don't care. The slaw had pumpkin seeds and kale in it. It was perfection. The potato salad was like a warm blanket. The meat, exquisite. And the sauces pulled the whole meal together. As we sat waiting the very short time for our food to be lovingly prepared, various patrons came and went and you could tell that this place was special. It's a rare thing nowadays for a restaurant to offer an experience that feels wholesome, nourishing, and authentic. It's another thing for this to happen without charging you an arm or a leg. I can't wait to go back and would encourage anyone in the area to make the stop (or even the detour)! You won't regret it.

Great spot to hang out in the heat. Brisket was some of the best I've had, absolutely tender and delicious! Shared a 3 meat platter with my wife (doubled up on pulled pork, also delicious!) and that was more than enough food for the both of us!

Loved Boomtown. When you are in Downieville you must stop in for a drink and some dinner. The menu is tasty the team does a really good job smoking meats, making coctails alcoholic and non alcoholic. The vibe is backyard BBQ and everyone is your new best friend. The working team is friendly and theres always a great mix of locals and travelers to socialize. Dogs are welcome, trivia night is extra special.

Boomtown Lounge was amazing! What made our experience lovely was the incredible host, Kevin. His personality and attitude exceeded! He welcomed my fiancé and I with laughter and an energy of happiness vibe all around. We will definitely be going back to Boomtown and Cold Rush!
