We had the best experience this past weekend. Aaron was the best server we have come across in El Paso. We travel for business and you hardly ever come across servers this awesome. Definitely recommend for locals and people out of town. If possible ask for Aaron.
Love this place! I have been finding myself going once a week on Sunday usually family day. The atmosphere is fast-paced, the meats are amazing, all the equipment is well maintained, and the staff friendly. I always ask for Mr. Garrison, he's been awesome awesome me and my family whenever we go. Definitely opt to sit in his section!
Me and my mom came here do the first time and we loved it!! Not just the food but the service was amazing!! I had eating at barbecue places similar but Corbin explained how the process worked and recommended some of his favorites. We had the chef’s special and we were soooo full by the end of it!! Corbin checked on us throughout our meal and was was so kind. Definitely recommend this place!!!! We will be coming back and bring more of the family!
Outstanding dining experience. The food was exceptional, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, and the service was impeccable. Our server Jeon provided the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Truly a five-star experience.
Went to the soft opening and service was spectacular! The food was so good! I only wish you could sub some of the proteins as my partner is not a big meat eater but everything tastes great! I has been to the one in downtown LA so I wish the atmosphere was more Japanese but I have no complaints. The drinks were refilled without asking and ALL servers were attentive even though it was packed. I do hope they keep it up! I am excited that El Paso has this because I love Japanese food ❤️
This is our second time and everyone still made us feel phone it was our first time. The atmosphere is amazing and Mia was awesome. She even boxed our food at the end and let me tell you that is top notch service in our eyes. We had the holiday special for 2 and honestly 4 of us could have eaten all that food. Thank you GYU-KAKU for making us feel at home!!!!
Corbin , amazing service , he took his time to explain the time we should cook our orders. Always attentive with the drinks. Great customer engagement and also knowledgeable. Great attitude, patient and overall someone that is happy to take care of you as a customer . Great atmosphere from the restaurant . From the moment we walk in the hostess was a delight to talk to . We’ll be coming back again !
It was a great experience for the first time trying the Japanese bbq at Gyu-Kaku in El Paso. The service from Ray Ray and other staffs were excellent!!! We were impressed with the soy sauce without gluten and the taste of the seafood. We’ll definitely come back again for the family gathering! Thanks again for the best customer service and best place for the bbq in town!
Best experience I’ve ever had compared to all restaurants I’ve been too!!! ALEXIS was outstanding with her customer service!she was very attentive and checked up on us like a restaurant should! she even answered to my children and was so damn sweet to them and very talkative!!!! Best waiter in the facility no doubt! WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN FOR SURE! 🤩❤️
The food was so delicious. We got the holiday meal which came with soup, salad, starters and different cuts of meat, and smokes. Waitress was nice and the other staff was quick to clear our table. We will definitely be back. I think the pre set courses are the way to go here.
Paloma and all of the other staff were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable which greatly elevated our first time experience! Both the server Paloma both highly recommend the meat lovers bundle because all of the appetizers and s’more desert additions make the experience that much more amazing!
Husband and I have been waiting for this place to open in our area. We were not disappointed. Services and selection of meats were good. They also serve alcohol. I had the Tokyo Iced Tea! It was delicious but my husband said it was bitter. He drank Grey Goose with club soda. We ordered the Chef’s special and added Beef Tongue and Duck. This was definitely a lot of food for two people but worth it. Salas had a great dressing on it. We cooked all the meat and took the leftovers home. This is definitely a date night spot! We will be back!
I don’t usually leave reviews, but the service we received from Jeremiah absolutely deserves one. From the moment we sat down, he was warm, attentive, and made the whole dining experience feel special. He explained the menu perfectly, gave great recommendations, and made sure our grill was always running smoothly. What really stood out was how genuine he was — not just going through the motions, but actually making sure we were enjoying ourselves. He checked in at just the right times, never intrusive but always available. You can tell he takes real pride in his work. The food, as always, was delicious, but Jeremiah’s service took it to another level. If you go to Gyu-Kaku in El Paso, definitely ask for him — you’ll be glad you did. Thank you, Jeremiah, for making our night such a great one!
The service was great. The server admitted he forgot to put in our order. It still felt like the food came out at a reasonable time. The manager visited our table and made things right. It is a good place to come with a group and try different items from the menu. My wife left a makeup bag at the table and they called us promtly to let us know even before she noticed.
The food was phenomenal. I was waiting for a place like this to open in El Paso near us on the west side. It made me feel like I was in Japan again! I love this food and will be coming back. We love the ventilation technology on the grill as well-- the vacuum is internal to the grill and it doesn't leave you/your hair all smoked out as you may have experienced at other Korean or Japanese BBQ places. I can't wait to come back. They also have happy hour specials as well.
Wow! This place, the food and the customer service of our waitress Nancy! She was awesome, attentive and very knowledgeable. She explain how to to everything as it was our first time. The food is in another level, very exquisite and very unique. We love also, our salad, soup bad and our smores dessert were amazing! 100% recommended! We will come back soon 🍣🍥
Anthony provided excellent customer service whilst training two minions! The prime kalbi rocked my socks and the spicy edamame tickled me with surprise as it was the spiciest thing I tried all night! Me and the wifey did a La carte style with multiple proteins and the spicy shrimp and bone in kalbi were the top notches! P.S. Get the bibimbap and let it crisp up for at least 7 min after they drop it off!
A grill your own meat bbq restaurant. We had the Chefs Choice for 2. The beef, shrimp and pork belly were all delicious. The salad with the Japanese dressing was a good surprise. The meal came with more than enough food for 2 people. It was our server Jeremiah’s first day. He did excellent. The food came out well spaced. Highly recommend.
Amazing Japanese BBQ experience. We ordered the Meat Variety set, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and high quality. The selection of meats was perfect for trying a little bit of everything, and grilling it yourself made it even more fun. The starters paired well with the BBQ, and the portions were filling. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and definitely worth it if you enjoy Japanese yakiniku.
By far the best service in El Paso. We’ve gone to 1700, Cafe Central, Casa Pantera, etc and this place beats it. The food is also excellent, I did not even have to use sauce. If it’s your first time, I highly recommend you to get the course and not to get à la cart. This way you get the full experience. They do a great job paring the food. Just make sure that the burner doesn’t turn off. Sometimes it will turn on. Hope you love as much as we did, we will be coming back.
Plenty of tasty vegetarian options! Had the yuzu avocado salad, grilled spinach, mushroom, addicting spicy cucumbers, shishito peppers, egg drop soup and beyond meat bibimbap! All were very delicious!! My carnivorous friends really enjoyed the bbq! Very friendly and responsive waiters and waitresses! I’ll give it a solid A+! Highly recommended! Will definitely revisit this branch when we come back to El Paso!
We came here for Thanksgiving and it was amazing. Great food and service. Music also not too loud. Will recommend. Damian was also a fantastic server. All staff interactions were great.
This place was fabulous! Jeremiah was very wonderful, friendly, attentive, and very willing to answer any questions about the menu we had (which can be quite overwhelming for first timers like us). He explained how to cook each meat and what each item was, and his service was very fast and personable. The food was wonderful and totally worth it. Everyone at the restaurant was wonderful, they even ran out to my car when i left my jewelry on the table! I will be recommending this establishment in the future!
Very satisfied! Service was excellent, food was delicious, It’s different from any other restaurant in the area. A little pricey but worth every penny. Overall I loved it. Really recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I drove all the way from the east side just to try this place—and it was so worth it! The hospitality and service were incredible—warm, welcoming, and genuine. And the food? 10/10. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. You can tell there’s a lot of care and passion behind the menu. This is hands-down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in El Paso. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending this spot to everyone we know!
The service is outstanding, particularly from Isabella and Jeon, who are exceptionally accommodating and demonstrate excellent knowledge of the menu. They provide clear and thorough explanations. The food is expertly marinated, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. It is an ideal setting for spending quality time with family and close friends.
Everything was absolutely amazing. We went as a group, having ordered a selection of different meats and appetizers. The Cilantro chiken, pork, chuck 7, and the side salad are to die for. Expensive but hundred percent worth every bite. My only downside is the amount of happy birthdays get sung while you're eating. At least 5 times throughout our dinner.
What a great staff, super on top of refills, the pacing of the meal was excellent, food was delicious, and if you weren’t super knowledgeable on how to cook the food, they were great at letting you know exactly how to cook it. A little expensive, but super worth it if you’re going out to a birthday party with a small group of friends.
The food and service were great. The staff all worked together as a team with everything including manicuring the tables. The seating was mostly booths, which I personally prefer. It was a cool full course experience type of meal with friends and we really enjoyed it.
Definitely recommend it! Food was amazing everything tasted great, especially the Meat, Karaage and the wings. Definitely recommend it, I feel service could’ve been a lot better but we did go later in the day so I feel the servers were burned out.
We had an amazing time at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ! Geo, our server, was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options, and we loved grilling everything right at our table. It was a fun and interactive dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a memorable time!

This was our first time here and our server Jean made the whole experience amazing. She mentioned it was her first time serving here, but you would never know it. She knew the menu so well and explained everything clearly, which helped us a lot as first-timers. She was incredibly kind, patient, and made us feel completely comfortable. The food itself was really good, and we enjoyed everything we tried. Just a small tip for anyone with a low spice tolerance… i’d personally stay away from the spicy meats because they really do have a kick. Nonetheless, Jean’s service made our visit so enjoyable. She’s fantastic and deserves recognition!
Our server Alexis was awesome amd very attentive and made the experience good. We ordered the meat lovers combo and it was very good. Drinks too were good. Overall a little pricey but I'd rather spend 80-100 bucks here of say like twin peaks.

The food is great, the waiters are friendly. I would give 5/5 but today the manager gave me attitude by saying “I’m not going to argue with you” after I explained my kimchi soup was missing kimchi. It was awkward because she replaced it anyways and it was delicious. I wish she was just nice about it. Other than that it’s a great fun experience to cook your own food in the grill.
Great place and food on our first time here. We had the meat lover combo and it was worth the money we paid for. The only downside I would say to this place is that we didn’t know who our server was. The person who took our order seemed to take it after 7 minutes of us being there, but I believe that was due to a miscommunication between the hostess and the server. We had about two or three different server’s assistant after ordering, so we were sort of confused on who to reach out to during the service. Plus, we had to remind the staff that we were missing stuff off the combo. Overall, it’s great and I would come back here. I’m pretty sure they were short staffed and had better nights.
They are undergoing the soft opening, I saw customers will not be served without a booking. Make sure you make a reservation online ahead of time, I would say 2 weeks ahead for now for weekend dinner. The interior is neat, all the staff are friendly and polite, they picked up dishes and cleaned probably. Quiet and great for dating. Servers dont actually understand the menu well enough, they only read what is on the menu when they were trying to introduce their menu? It was a so far so good experience. Menu variety is definitely different to Asia; portion is relatively disappointing, u paid more than what u got for sure. For example, i ordered a spicy shrimp, it is clearly just any normal shrimps u can get anywhere, with maybe some gochujang seasoning, costing 8.95$ for 4 shrimps. The vegetable price is more ridiculous compared to the portion. Besides, food came at a weird order when all grill food should come at once and it wasnt the case. However, im still happy to see Asian franchises opening new store in el paso.
I was not impressed by the food here at all. The meat was incredibly fatty. And not the good kind of fatty that renders. The portions are incredibly small. I dont even think the serving size totaled a 12 Oz steak. My wife and I who usually share 1 entree and have leftovers both left feeling hungry. That said the waiters were super friendly. The vibe is super trendy. It just wasnt worth $100 for 2 people.
New restaurant in town, of course WE had to try. The service was and is probably the ONLY reason I would go back. The food was not my favorite but it wasn't a complete disappointment. Our misso soup was nothing like others we had before,it was flavorless and no mushrooms. At least our batch. We ordered the dinner for four which honestly was more than enough for three adults and a teenager. There's things I would probably switch around if we go again, like the noodles and house salad were a big NO for me. Other than that food was good. Our server was beyond attentive and at the end he asked if we were military and gave us a discount. So don't forget to ask for military, I believe other professions as well, can't remember which ones tho. Price wise it's reasonably priced for the amount of food offered.
Had a great time for our first time. Had the meal for three which was around $100 and was more than enough for three people and included a smores dessert and Nancy our server was great and very attentive.

Gyu-Kaku is supposed to be HOT off the grill. When I place a pickup order and it says 1 hour, I plan accordingly — especially on Valentine’s Day. I was out running errands to time it perfectly… only to get a notification that the food was ready in 15 minutes. That means it sat there for 45+ minutes. By the time I picked it up, it was cold. The whole point of ordering out is hot food and less cleanup. Instead, I’m reheating dinner on Valentine’s Day. My options? Microwave (ew, no thanks) or reheat everything on a pan… which basically defeats the purpose of ordering out. At that point, I might as well have just cooked. Not spend $40+ for cold food. COME ONNNN
We had a great overall experience at Gyu-Kaku! The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and our server Estrella was very friendly and helpful throughout our meal. Everything came out fresh and tasty. The only downside was that we noticed a strand of hair in the edamame, which was disappointing. Hopefully, that was just a one-time issue. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back again!

I recently visited Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ and walked away pretty disappointed. The food itself tasted fine, but the portions were extremely small for the price. The way everything is presented makes it feel like an all-you-can-eat experience, but it definitely isn’t — and that ends up catching you off guard fast. If you’re actually hungry, this is not the spot. You’d be better off going to a steakhouse or a true KBBQ place where you get real value for what you pay. A few of the servers even mentioned that we weren’t the first people to feel like we got finessed — which tells you this happens a lot. If you do choose to eat here, ask questions before ordering anything and do your research, because the menu and format can be misleading. Overall, the concept is cool, but the pricing and portions just don’t match. For what we spent, we expected a better experience and left feeling like it wasn’t worth it.
We sat for 30 mins the server came and asked if we want more meat when we haven’t had our first set of meats. Took 35+ mins to get just two sides of meat while other tables that got there after us kept getting their meats. The server said the kitchen was behind but don’t seem like it cause the other tables kept getting their food. We talked to the manager and offer a premium meat but at that point we were losing our appetite since we waited for a long time. We closed our tap and not even a sorry or discount for making us wait. They need to work on their service.
I recently tried Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ and honestly left feeling disappointed. The food tasted good, but the portions were surprisingly small for the price. For a place that markets itself as a fun dining experience, it felt more like we were paying premium prices for sampler-sized servings. The atmosphere was fine and the concept is great, but when you walk out feeling like you overpaid and still could eat more, something’s off. I expected better value, especially with how much the meal cost. Overall, it wasn’t terrible — but it definitely didn’t live up to the price tag. I wouldn’t rush back based on this experience. This place is not an all you can eat bbq they present the same, but they are not the same. If you are hungry, this is NOT the place just go to a steakhouse or a KBBQ . ask questions before you order anything. Multiple servers said we’re not the only ones to feel finessed. Do your own research before ordering anything.
