I live in NJ but when I am in CA, I go to this charming cafe in El Segundo. Unpretentious, the food is delicious, and they have the best Zucchini Fries ever!

I had the spicy chicken sandwich combo, ( fries and soda included in the combo) Very first time I have been to the Fantastic Cafe and I would recommend it to anyone who wants fresh cooked food and a laid back vibe.

this place gets my thumbs up! im not from this area. i was craving a tuna melt (but im pick about it) i was welcomed in and quickly asked if i was r3ady to odrer when i seen the vast aray of items to choose from i was overwelmed and cashier was synpathic and said take your time( cuz now i dint know if i wanted tuna melt. i asked about a few iten descrition(cuz im picky) and cahier once again knowledgeably answered my question still pariently waiting for me to order. i stuck to my tuna melt but i made a mistake when ordering. my order was quick when i pick up order. i realizedi dibdy get drinkot fries.. i asked why when i had orderrd conbo she explaibed that i had only ordered sandwich & side salad. i said sorry and said i thought she heard me say combo. . ..non the less with no hesitation they were quick to provide what i wanted. this morning team was great...if ever back i know where to go dor great service and delisious meal yo my liking with a smile ( cuz im picky)

The cleanest restaurant I've ever been to. I'm not exaggerating that you could probably eat off the restroom counter without problems it's so clean and we'll maintained! That the food is really good is almost an afterthought when you look at all the gleaming surfaces!! Their burgers are great, their chicken sandwiches are great, their fries are to die for... They're great if a tad more expensive than I expected.

I'm a regular here for their salads. Great options for keto. Always fresh leafy greens. Occasionally, depending on the cook, the chicken isn't grilled to my liking, so make sure to give specific instructions. Also it seems the day staff always gets it perfect, unlike the late evening. 🤔

Are regular costomers. They are an amazing restaurant for burgers and other American foods, but they are also one of the best Mexican restaurants around. Highly recommend their tacos and the LAX burrito and the Salad burrito especially with chicken added. Tony is an amazing cook and Amy is the heart and soul of this place!

Salad burritos are awesome from this location! Don't bother buying salad burritos from ANY other Fantastic Cafe. I've done that. ALL others are awful, some from other Fantastic Cafes are disgusting. They are best eaten immediately but my family loves them so much that I have taken them with me (flying of course) to Maine, Florida, and even to Europe... of course the burrito only made it part way to Europe. Thay meet their demise somewhere over the Atlantic.

Chili Fries and Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger were great, big portions too! The fries we had to take home held up very well even after being refrigerated too and were still perfect the next day.

Love the're breakfast burrito. Ham, bacon, sausage, egg, cheddar cheese,& egg. Enough for two if you cut it in half. They're open early so I can grab one on my way to work. You can even call ahead and place your order.

I had the veggie omelet and it was fantastic. All the high school kids came in at lunchtime. A really nice group of kids. I've been going here for over 25 years. Still the same. Still solid and comfortable.

I work at LAX. I have been eating at this restaurant close to 20 years I have never once gotten a bad meal. Their Acapulco chicken is to die for. I like having a place that has a great salad as well as a great hamburger they serve Mexican and American food. Steaks and Chops,Chicken and Fish.

As a "no mus, no fuss" guy, I appreciated the lack of pretension. All I want is great food & great service, which is EXACTLY what I got here! Whatever you order, DEFINITELY get a side of their PERFECT french fries!

Breakfast, lunch, or diner I would recommend this place first in El Segundo. It may look like a hole in the wall kind of joint, but it's well kept. The staff is very friendly and all of the food is freshly prepared right in sight of you. Incredible food in my opinion, and I haven't heard one bad thing about their food my entire time living in El Segundo.

Just had the omelets there, but they were very delicious. They also give you a good portion of food as well. The hash browns are some of the best I have had since coming to California. Definitely recommend going there for some breakfast. Have yet to try the burgers, but that's next on the list.

Great place! We go regularly and the waitress and chefs there during the weekday evenings is awesome! Same can't be said about them all, but overall, I love the friendly atmosphere of the workers there. Very affordable by comparison to other places nearby, and food is made quickly and efficiently.

This would be an ultimate chili fry place late night if they were open that late.... And I really haven't had anything else there for quite awhile. Takes me back to HS Nostalgia eating there lol. This dish is one of the only few dishes in my life that hasn't really changed much since the 90s. Still the king of chili cheese fries.

Arguably the best breakfast burritos in the South Bay, definitely one of my favorites, especially for the price and size of these bad boys. I got the LAX burrito today I think it’s around $9 and has steak/beef, eggs, bell peppers, green onions, spinach, cheese. The regular bb is awesome and has hash browns plus bacon, sausage AND ham, eggs, cheese. Grab an extra salsa. So good! Usually takes around 10 minutes to make. Bring cash for tip.

I’m looking forward to my kid’s meal. My boyfriend and I walked here from the Purple Orchid bar about five minutes away. He was hungry for hotdogs but the restaurant next door, a bbq place seemed very good as well. I was happy to be able to order the kid’s meal as I am not very hungry and the choices there are some of my favorites. Not only was he willing to allow us to order the kids meal, he did didn’t seem judgy about me either. I’m wearing a bathing suit today, so I imagine I’m probably not making the best impression today, and I am grateful for kindness from anyone at my age.

Unique place food was good price was reasonable. You order at counter when you walk in they bring you your order. The restaurant was clean and the people are plesant.

Just a nice little dinner with all the food cooked on a big grill. Nothing to wrote home about in terms of quality or taste but a nice old little staple in town.

Called in order for two breakfast burritos and they said they would be done 10 minutes. So I arrived 10 minutes later and they have started the order. 15 minutes later I get my burritos. Moral of story: If they say ten, it means 25 minutes! As forvtge BBs , they are about the best in my eyes. 3 eggs, all three meats (sausage, bacon, ham) hash browns and cheese, spectacular. I personnaly love the their green salsa on the BBs. Such a great accent to the near perfect breakfast burrito. Covid precautions in play, outdoor dining available.

Best food bargain in El Segundo. Breakfast is great with (no pun intended) a fantastic menu. Parking is plentiful with a city lot next door and a small lot behind the restaurant. There's also a small seating area in the back. The staff has been there for years and at lunch time try the burgers.

I grew up in El Segundo so this was one of my favorite restaurants. I would go there hang out while going to high school, then doing my lunch breaks from work ect.. but after change of management it's changed a lt.. Food used to be the bomb and now it's still good but not the best as it was. Hamburgers, salads and breakfast burritos are still the bomb but other item's are lacking in taste. I still recommend it but, miss the old school service 😊

Solid fast casual neighborhood place. Friendly service and good for honestyle breakfasts or a hamburger. It's fairly serve yourself and walk up and order but they will often come over during meal to offer refills if they aren't too busy. Affordable.

Then I realize she was saying there were two separate tip jars: one for service and one for the cook. Thought it was a bit odd but sure, so, I split tip into both. My wife didn't like her tuna melt, as it apparently was missing the melt part. My patty melt was decent: nothing to write home about. Between the fries and the onion rings, I think fries were the better choice. The onions rings needed more seasoning. It's a decent counter burger but nothing that stands out. This place does exactly what it is intended to do.. Provide standard food at standard price with minimal focus on aesthetics. Because they have q u ite a clientele in the to go arena sometime you might wait more than usual.. But the food is good and the price is right..

A typical hamburger, breakfast greasy spoon type dinner. Resided in this location for a couple of decades. Not one my favorite downtown El Segundo dining choices, but food is ok. There is a small city parking lot adjacent (free).

Came in because of the nice reviews and it's very convenient to where I live. First, very good service and attentive staff. Now the food: ordered a vegetarian omelette which was delicious, the hash browns was so-so, nothing to write home about. The coffee, absolutely the worst I've ever had at a restaurant, possibly ever. I came and tried, I won't be back.

Decent food and good portions. Fantastic Cafe suffers mightily from having what feels like thousands of options on the menu. Breakfast sandwiches, sure. Burritos, yeah, they got that. Burgers? Why not! How about a salad...yup! Corn dogs, uh huh. Pastrami sandwich... Why wouldn't they! I think you get the idea. On the positive side, you cant go there and have someone complain that they don't have food they want!

Fast, cheap, & easy. Food was great for the price. The shaded patio in back looks onto an alley/parking lot/dumpster but the fresh air was still preferable to the stuffy interior (no a/c, maybe?).

There is a new counter staff that always get my order wrongly. Am lucky that the chef heard my order and corrected it. Food will be wasted if the order was get wrongly. Hopefully the staff understand.

I hate to post this review as the food and service here is usually good. However, today the asian lady must have been in a bad mood. Awfully rude!!!

The food is ok but the customer service is horrible. My coworkers and I order there at least once a week and they get the orders wrong 50% of the time. One day I went to pick up a phone order didn't bother to check it big mistake. Went back and they started to argue with me that I should have checked the orders before I left. That's there job to make sure the orders are right. They make sure they get there money right. Poor communication skills.

My dear friends I really like to share honest reviews of the places where I go to eat, and Fantastic cafe was one of my favorite places in el Segundo , I 'd been eating in this place for long time, and unfortunately for me is been 3 or 4 times that I see Cockroaches on the tables and walking out of the restroom, I am sorry but I have to say it, just happened to me Wednesday and I was really disappointed.

Wait time quoted 20 minutes. Still waiting after an hour and our order not made correctly. The kitchen is chaos and everyone is mad and folks are just standing around trying to ask for to go boxes or assistance as the staff on the registers is just as stressed and confused.

The delivery was very slow. I only ordered 2 chicken salad. I could of drove to San Pedro and gotten my order right away. The workers were working fast. But you could tell the organization from management is weak is making this restaurant look bad. Can the owners buy a Damm speaker to help out the servers. Last time I come here.

I used to go here 3 times a week but as soon as I met the manager how he represented fantastics standards of customer service weren't met. He was rude; tended to price things at a higher cost then normal. kept telling him he was miss pricing his stuff since I get the same item every time I go there, I knew the cost. If you want great customer service dont come here. The food is ok, not something you cant make at home.
