I have been coming to this Denny's my whole life as a kid with my family in my younger years after the club as an adult after shows and concerts and I must say I've never seen anyone handle that graveyard shift the way jenn does. She is always moving no lie I watched that girl last weekend cash out two people at the same time greet a guest grab a togo order all at the same time while maintaining conversations with each person was fun to watch the way she timed it out was truly incredible to watch. And it wasn't just luck either I've seen her do it multiple times she is like 3/4 people in one employee. If I still ran my restaurant I'd steal her in a heart beat. I will say though that I have noticed a change in the servers it's not that they aren't nice they just kinda drop the food and you never see them again. And I understand it's hard when it's busy I used to own my own restaurant but when you see your server standing there doing nothing and you have dirty plates all over your table no refills and no çheck to cash out it's kinda like 🤔 so I just order to go now. Jenn knows my order soon as I walk in now that's service... Over all I still say 5 stars

This location has hands down one of the best food and service I have experienced. Robert J was our servicer and he is Amazing! He remembered both of our orders and kept us updated on the status of our meal. He kept our coffee and juice filled. He provided excellent customer service. I had the Ultimate omelette with red potatoes and gluten free English muffin. I added spinach and the omelette was cooked to perfection. I applaud the cook for one of the best omelettes that I have ever experienced. I would recommend this establishment to everyone.

Actually one of the better Denny's locations you'll find anywhere. Has an old school, warm atmosphere inside (and actually is quite warm, temperature-wise). It's pleasant. Plenty of local color from the clientele, which always makes for awesome people watching! Jenn was our waitress, and she was incredible. Super personable, and gave the tip that she makes the best shakes, so I had to try one. Absolutely wasn't lying--it was pretty sensational. Really good late night spot to come and study or just unwind after a long day.

As soon as I walked in, I waited about 10 minutes to be addressed. It seemed liked they were shortstaffed because almost all the tables were full, and I only noticed two girls there. One was serving the tables and the other (Jenn) who was the greeter/cashier/and “to-go” food prepper. Jenn took my order quickly, was very polite, and give me an accurate turnaround time. She made sure I had everything before I left, and I even checked the order afterwards, and everything was perfectly correct as ordered. She was great!

Every time I come here, the servers are always nice. We come here maybe about once every other month since I’ve been pregnant I just gave birth to twins two months ago. Jennifer always gets my order, right. Whenever there’s an issue is correctly right away. It’s a few members of the staff that have been there for years and they’re always super nice to my kids. We go here after movies before movies are during shopping tripsis always a good time.

This is the best food when you want something late night. My wife and I stopped here after a party last night. Can't remembers the exact time, but it was definitely after 12am. We were seated in less than 5 mins. There was a good crowd of ppl already sitting and eating. We did not wait long for our waitress, which we appreciated because we were starving lol. Our waitress was nice btw. I ordered pancakes, home fries, French fries (I really wanted the crispness lol), eggs, sausage and bacon. Washed it all down with a diet coke. My wife had the same. The food came out hot and tasty. We tore our whole plate up lol.

Posted in 7-12-2025 I appreciate your feedback, and I appreciate your consideration. This comment I made was from yesterday. I went back to Denis and ate there, and I received excellent service. I won't mention it. Who was Dennis at the event above? I know the waiters' workload is exhausting. I know the workload at the time I was there is exhausting, as it comes from a day of work that exhausts any worker. Especially when the restaurant is very busy, which is not uncommon, and because the restaurant is busy, it shows that what happened to me was a one-off event, which is why I never mentioned it. Who was Dennis or the worker who had this problem? I believe you are absolutely certain that it was a very occasional occurrence. It was truly an unpleasant experience that day. But I went back there yesterday coincidentally and received excellent service, so it was an outlier that I'm sure has already been resolved. And I changed my atrás to this place

Everybody knows Denny’s, so nothing here is a surprise. And pretty much every Denny’s here are very similar to each other. Even ones that I have seen overseas are pretty much the same too. They have a mixed menu of breakfast items and dinner entrées and a handful of appetizers. Everything they have is reasonably tasty, although not necessarily super healthy. The service is sometimes a little iffy, but the one huge plus is that it’s open all day, every day. And in Berkeley, unlike a lot of other places that are open late, but for whatever reason, leave their doors open, so it’s freezing cold, it’s actually warm inside. That alone is enough to give this the edge on most other places.

The staff here dont know what to do when a blind person comes to eat by themselves. A lady pointed and said "go over there" which means nothing to me. After I explained that, she tried to grab my cane to pull me to a table. I asked where the restroom was and another lady just said " back there," then walked away. Oh well. The food was decent.

Overall, the experience was nice, but prices went up since the last time I visited Denny’s, plus the vibe of the “60’s American dinner”which I liked, has definitely died now. (Design wise). Other than that, food was overall decent. Denny’s is definitely not a place to eat meat , but I will suggest come to Dennys for American breakfast. Our waitress (I don’t know her name, sorry) A Black female with short blonde hair, was overall okay but did have a bit of an attitude and said some things that were out of place. I wasn’t offended but some costumers might would have. Not sure I’ll be back soon or maybe I’ll try a different Denny’s . 3/5 overall experience.

I usually come here with my granddaughter to eat, but yesterday this witch look alike was just rude. Blonde hair short cut. She didn't bring our menus and seated a couple that came in 5 minutes after us right away. We like Felecia as a waitress she's very professional and is always asking if everything is okay. One thing I learned from my spouse is the way you tip the waiter/waitress is if they bring you the refill without you even asking for it. I didn’t tip her. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I GO BACK HERE.

Don’t come here late night. 1 came In around 12:30 here expecting to order fried fish platter. I understand the waitress are busy here but after 15-20 minutes they came in and told me that they were out of that order. Then I ordered something else to my dismay, it took a very long time. The food was not even that good too as the burger was not salty enough and had a small portion of fries. I’m not satisfied with the order here and for the price I have to pay for a high wait time just for a burger and fries that lacked salt.

Don't eat here at night if you are from out of town, someone inside or outside is taking advantage of customers who park in the back of the restaurant, and working as a team to break into cars. Got our rental car windows knocked out and items stolen. Police said same thing happened night before.

Walter that work there is Rude.. Poor customer service! he won’t even acknowledge you when you come in the front door. He was at the register doing something that must’ve been more important that he couldnt knowledge any customers that came in. Not even a simple “ someone will be right with you” anything...He just walked away and went to another register. This is at 3 AM in the morning so it’s not too busy. Just Rude

Came here for a good meal after midnight. The main waitress working the house was lovely however there was one unruley employee making a fuss about something at one of the booths. She was complaining loudly, had someone massage her back while moaning very audibly, and overall left a bad taste in my mouth. Wish that experience was more pleasant, but the food was good at least. Update: Came here at 2:00am for a pickup order and I've been standing around for 40 minutes while the only person working the front ignores me. A white woman with a bad attitude. I think this is the same person who should've been fired my first review. (Note that was over a year ago.) Ended up getting cold steak. Not what I ordered food for and not why I started driving as soon as I placed the order. Can you please fire this person and hire more people, Denny's?

I must say, I’ve been to many Denny’s in the past and I, generally speaking, loved them all. I’ll skip any subjective comments and I’ll stick to facts here. Ten minutes after we were seated a server arrived to our table. We ordered drinks (lemonades, tea and coffee). Fifteen minutes later the drinks arrived. Kids got no straws with their lemonade. There were no utensils on the table. I had nothing to stir my coffee with. Perhaps I should have used my middle finger to stir it. I tried to flag our server down but it was a failure. I then took it upon myself to get up and bother someone for utensils. Apparently I stepped over some invisible line, because one of the rude employees told me to immediately get back to my table. OK. Eventually someone brought utensils for all 4 people at our table. Later on we got our soups, all good. Except for spoons that go with a soup. Kids used the small coffee spoons to eat their soup with, but my little spoon was already serving my coffee needs. Yet another round of hunting for utensils. Not bad. Shortly after the soup time everyone got their main dish ... except for me. Mine arrived after others were all finished eating. Despite the fact that they brought my dish when the previous food was already consumed, they left dirty dishes on our table. Idk, maybe it is how California rolls, you tell me. No steak knife for me. I used a knife from someone at our table who did not need it anymore. I mean I could have tried yet another round trip searching for a knife in the restaurant. I simple didn’t have the stomach to deal with the Gestapo anymore. Coffee refills? Forget it. Nobody offered it, and I’m not going to get up again to chase more coffee. The food was delicious, I can’t deny it. Someone at this Denny’s is doing their job right. Did I mention their restrooms? No soap on men’s restroom, while women’s restroom was beyond disgusting, as two ladies in our company even refused to discuss the filth and whatever else they encountered there. Maybe I’m too picky. I don’t know. I thought certain basics are to be expected at Denny’s. The attached picture shows the table when I was done eating. All the other dishes were there the whole time I was eating because as I mentioned before they brought my food when the others were already done eating. It will take a long time before I dare to visit any Denny’s again.

Sat there for 45m and wasn’t served; a guy came in after me and received his food without me even being greeted

My order was sirloin steak- medium, eggs-scrambled medium, hash browns-crispy. I got: well done meat, well done eggs and I can't even describe the potatoes except there was no white soft potato ANYWHERE!!! I treated my Grands to breakfast/brunch. They liked theirs. My oldest Grand wanted to get the servers attention but I wanted to wait until she noticed. 7 minutes talking to a co-worker he raised his hand. The co-worker noticed but our server did not. The co-worker had to tell her. I ordered onion rings and took the bullet. My Grands were happy and they took the B.S. off the bill. I've been going to that Emeryville location since the early 1980's. WORST MEAL I have personally had there.

This place deserves 0 star. I have been here many times in the past and was generally satisfied with the service until Sunday the 14th around 4:40 a.m., when I came in for an early breakfast. There was no line (no ppl to be served), and most seats were empty at that early hour. Everything was fine until I encountered an employee at the Emeryville Denny’s (blond, goatee, about 6 feet tall). This employee showed no basic understanding of customer service. There was a large group who are paying for their meals ahead of me, and many of them were paying separately. That’s fine. I understand that takes time. I waited patiently until they cleared out. After standing there for about 20 minutes, I was relieved that it was finally my turn. Wrong. The employee was just standing there with a blank stare. I politely approached and said, “Hi, is it my turn? Am I going to be helped?” He stared at me for over 20 seconds without saying a word. Confused by his behavior, I asked again. He responded with another long glare, this time with obvious contempt on his face. Then he said, “What’s up with the attitude?”—which was ironic, because I was the one being ignored. After that, he said, “You know what? Here’s the menu—go sit anywhere.” with the humiliating and condescending tone. This person lacks the most basic skills required for a service job and has a terrible attitude. Normally, I would have asked to speak with a manager, but I had two UC Berkeley final exams within 24 hours and didn’t have time to waste, so I left. I can't even imagine tipping this guy. Moral of the story: When the people in front of me moved away, it was reasonable to assume I would be served next. I dine out frequently, and in situations like this, staff usually say something like, “We’ll help you shortly,” or “I’m still processing a payment—please give me a moment.” Instead, nothing was said, as if I were supposed to magically know what was happening behind the counter. This was a horrible experience, and if Denny's at Emeryville wants to improve, it's better fire this unskilled employee. All of my previous positive experiences at this location were completely ruined by this one interaction. I will be warning my friends and any associates about how awful this place has become.
