This is the best food when you want something late night. My wife and I stopped here after a party last night. Can't remembers the exact time, but it was definitely after 12am. We were seated in less than 5 mins. There was a good crowd of ppl already sitting and eating. We did not wait long for our waitress, which we appreciated because we were starving lol. Our waitress was nice btw. I ordered pancakes, home fries, French fries (I really wanted the crispness lol), eggs, sausage and bacon. Washed it all down with a diet coke. My wife had the same. The food came out hot and tasty. We tore our whole plate up lol.
I love Adela down. She’s so fierce, attentive, and sweet. She makes me love dennys. Dennys is nothing without her. PRAISE ADELA. TIP HER WELL. SHE DESERVES EVERYTHING GOOD IN LIFE
Jennifer and Hunter were the sweetest two I've had the pleasure of meeting! Amazing people, great food, good vibes! Was doing homework with friends, and Hunter himself came and helped us solve our double integral problem!!
This was my first time at denny's in Emeryville and Jennifer and Hunter are the reason I'm coming back. I stayed here all night to work with my friends, and they were so nice the entire time and offered help, food, and nice drinks. They also took so much care decorating the restaurant for Christmas, and it was genuinely such a nice night with Jennifer and Hunter.
Jennifer and Hunter were absolutely amazing and fantastic. To be completely honest, this was my first time at Denny's and the hospitality blew me away. The food was tasty, drink was refreshing, and the service is what made my experience here special. I came here to study with my friends for finals week in college, and they helped us to get our coffee and food all ready to help fuel our study session, and the friendliness made me enjoy my experience. I would love to come back, and I am sure to come back.

Very fast. Professional service. Quickly accommodating to immediate and future needs. Very nice attentive staff. Particularly Jennifer G. Very radiant, good conversation and a genuine contributing factor the overall atmosphere of the place. This is definitely an establishment I wouldn't think twice about attending with some friends or loved ones. Jennifer made the overall experience much more than one could have hoped for.

I usually roll in between 10pm and 2am, stay a couple hours, and every time—every time—they come through with kindness, consistency, and that no pressure vibe 🙌 The food? Always hits. Better than fast food, solid portions, and a good value when you’re running on fumes🔋 Had one small issue once, and they didn’t just fix it—they went above and beyond without me even asking. That’s rare these days 💯 If you’re out late and need a place that feels safe, steady, and human—this is it. Much love to the crew that keeps it together when the rest of the world’s asleep ✨

JENNY!!! She is the most amazing sweetest kindest server ! She deserves a raise, she treated us like family! As for the other very rude server black woman with short blonde hair, she scared a few customers away because she was so rude and mean. The food was great, as it always is at Denny's. However, the lady that served us was SO EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! We were in Richmond for a funeral the next day & that lady demeanor was so disrespectful, that we couldn't even really enjoyed our food. If I wasn't so hungry after driving for over 6 hours to get out to Richmond, I would have left. Our Pastor just said we'll pray for her as we were leaving.
Its a Dennys. The food is decent and affordable. The staff at this particular Dennys is attentive and friendly. This one is my favorite one on all of the bay area. I live closer to 2 others in Richmond but will specifically drive to this one.

Reed until the end Posted in 2-23-2025 My worst experience at Dênis, the girl took 40 minutes (330am to 401am day 02-23-2025) to hand me the menu and simply forgot about me after she handed me the menu. In addition to arguing with the customer about an order. After the 4 months I retur and I saw the reply from the owner below. And I need to comment more. Posted in 7-12-2025 I appreciate your feedback, and I appreciate your consideration. This comment I made was from yesterday. I went back to Denis and ate there, and I received excellent service. I won't mention it. Who was Dennis at the event above? I know the waiters' workload is exhausting. I know the workload at the time I was there is exhausting, as it comes from a day of work that exhausts any worker. Especially when the restaurant is very busy, which is not uncommon, and because the restaurant is busy, it shows that what happened to me was a one-off event, which is why I never mentioned it. Who was Dennis or the worker who had this problem? I believe you are absolutely certain that it was a very occasional occurrence. It was truly an unpleasant experience that day. But I went back there yesterday coincidentally and received excellent service, so it was an outlier that I'm sure has already been resolved. And I changed my atrás to this place
Everybody knows Denny’s, so nothing here is a surprise. And pretty much every Denny’s here are very similar to each other. Even ones that I have seen overseas are pretty much the same too. They have a mixed menu of breakfast items and dinner entrées and a handful of appetizers. Everything they have is reasonably tasty, although not necessarily super healthy. The service is sometimes a little iffy, but the one huge plus is that it’s open all day, every day. And in Berkeley, unlike a lot of other places that are open late, but for whatever reason, leave their doors open, so it’s freezing cold, it’s actually warm inside. That alone is enough to give this the edge on most other places.
We came in late so no line, we got seated immediately by a window. Food was served quickly. We both had hamburgers which were very good, fries were ok. I asked for no pickles, my husband asked for no tomatoes or lettuce - they were in there but we just pulled them out. There was a noisy customer in the next booth but .....

The staff here dont know what to do when a blind person comes to eat by themselves. A lady pointed and said "go over there" which means nothing to me. After I explained that, she tried to grab my cane to pull me to a table. I asked where the restroom was and another lady just said " back there," then walked away. Oh well. The food was decent.
Our main gripe is that the minute we stepped inside, the temperature was way too cold for that time of day (early morning 7 am). The service was decent. Coffee was awful and the breakfast food was just okay. Won't be coming back; was just passing through.
Overall, the experience was nice, but prices went up since the last time I visited Denny’s, plus the vibe of the “60’s American dinner”which I liked, has definitely died now. (Design wise). Other than that, food was overall decent. Denny’s is definitely not a place to eat meat , but I will suggest come to Dennys for American breakfast. Our waitress (I don’t know her name, sorry) A Black female with short blonde hair, was overall okay but did have a bit of an attitude and said some things that were out of place. I wasn’t offended but some costumers might would have. Not sure I’ll be back soon or maybe I’ll try a different Denny’s . 3/5 overall experience.
Friendly staff. Nice and clean restaurant. Was seated next to noisy entrance and almost no window view. It would have been nice with a little quieter seat and a window view. A little long wait for the food which however tasted good. A little more attention from the waiter would have been nice as I ran out of coffee and my mug wasn’t replenished. Maybe it was their way of telling me that I overstayed my welcome and it was time to leave however they weren’t busy at all. Very few customers.

My order was sirloin steak- medium, eggs-scrambled medium, hash browns-crispy. I got: well done meat, well done eggs and I can't even describe the potatoes except there was no white soft potato ANYWHERE!!! I treated my Grands to breakfast/brunch. They liked theirs. My oldest Grand wanted to get the servers attention but I wanted to wait until she noticed. 7 minutes talking to a co-worker he raised his hand. The co-worker noticed but our server did not. The co-worker had to tell her. I ordered onion rings and took the bullet. My Grands were happy and they took the B.S. off the bill. I've been going to that Emeryville location since the early 1980's. WORST MEAL I have personally had there.
This place deserves 0 star. I have been here many times in the past and was generally satisfied with the service until Sunday the 14th around 4:40 a.m., when I came in for an early breakfast. There was no line (no ppl to be served), and most seats were empty at that early hour. Everything was fine until I encountered an employee at the Emeryville Denny’s (blond, goatee, about 6 feet tall). This employee showed no basic understanding of customer service. There was a large group who are paying for their meals ahead of me, and many of them were paying separately. That’s fine. I understand that takes time. I waited patiently until they cleared out. After standing there for about 20 minutes, I was relieved that it was finally my turn. Wrong. The employee was just standing there with a blank stare. I politely approached and said, “Hi, is it my turn? Am I going to be helped?” He stared at me for over 20 seconds without saying a word. Confused by his behavior, I asked again. He responded with another long glare, this time with obvious contempt on his face. Then he said, “What’s up with the attitude?”—which was ironic, because I was the one being ignored. After that, he said, “You know what? Here’s the menu—go sit anywhere.” with the humiliating and condescending tone. This person lacks the most basic skills required for a service job and has a terrible attitude. Normally, I would have asked to speak with a manager, but I had two UC Berkeley final exams within 24 hours and didn’t have time to waste, so I left. I can't even imagine tipping this guy. Moral of the story: When the people in front of me moved away, it was reasonable to assume I would be served next. I dine out frequently, and in situations like this, staff usually say something like, “We’ll help you shortly,” or “I’m still processing a payment—please give me a moment.” Instead, nothing was said, as if I were supposed to magically know what was happening behind the counter. This was a horrible experience, and if Denny's at Emeryville wants to improve, it's better fire this unskilled employee. All of my previous positive experiences at this location were completely ruined by this one interaction. I will be warning my friends and any associates about how awful this place has become.
