Wow. Everything was great!! From the seafood to the Italian food, fruit salad bar! Desserts, sushi!! I just moved here & this is my favorite spot so far!!

It’s a good place. I went on a Friday around 7ish and the food was fresh enough. The chicken on a stick was a little dry, but that’s to be expected on a buffet. Sushi was interesting combinations, the hibachi was good, and the crab legs had a nice flavor too. I will go again.

This place doesn’t get a lot of traffic so the food might be stale at times. But when it’s busy I usually take the chance to go and the food is amazing. Would recomend as long as you see they’re slightly busy. 👍

I go here almost every weekend I’m not from Dallas so I was looking for a Chinese spot and I found Ocean Buffet and I’m dedicated Nice family restaurant food is so good and the waitress and cooks are so nice they know when I come I want garlic shrimp🤤

They have some good cooks who know about flavor! Sesame chicken, sauteed mushrooms, broccoli beef, fried rice... So many good things. Sushi 🍣 Mongolian grill 🍜 The kids all can find something, even if it's pizza or cheese and bread. It's Hispanic run, so there are fried plantains, horchata, and Latin American music! I'm hoping they'll get ahead a little and be able to fix up the furniture and add lights to the signs outside.

Mom & I love this place, food is fresh and so flavorful. They have sushi and all types of meats. Lots of variety of food to choose from, including soups and desserts. Service is great and atmosphere is good. If you haven't been, you should check it out.😋👍

Absolutely phenomenal experience dining at this buffet restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the staff, led by the exceptional manager Steven, made me feel incredibly welcome. Despite it being my first time here, we were treated like VIPs from start to finish. The variety and quality of food were outstanding, with every dish prepared to perfection. Surprised this place doesnt have a higher star rating. We arrived at 4pm and everything was cleaned and fully stocked fir the dinner crowd. Lots to offer with fresh sushi. Highlights were the squid salad, clams and strangely enough the BBQ chicken wings. For something simple it had a nice tangy sweet/sour flavor. I'll definitely be back.

This is a not bad buffet place actually. It took us by surprise the outside is pretty boring but the inside there was a lot to offer. There are Veg, Non-Veg, Vegan, Fried as well as Grilled options. Also, selection of Fruits and Dessert. Reasonable prices. Giving 4 stars as I feel cleanliness was missing. Its still two thumbs up!

I have visited several times. Great variety. Very disappointed by the Lo Mein this visit. Hope it's just a one time thing! Service is always delightful. Love their variety of fresh fruit offered. I usually make the 20-minute drive once or twice a month at different times. It's a fantastic spot with a great atmosphere, and the food consistently hits the mark for its price. A++ rating. The only drawback is that I usually go alone, so being sitted surrounded by families can be a bit off-putting, but it's manageable.

There food is always good and neat and hot the establishment is huge lots of room very clean and comfortable to dine in and the to go plates are reasonable they charge you per pound of food you get and the time of day matters also seafood is charged differently

We were a party of 2 that arrived at 5pm on a Sunday and were seated immediately. Big selection on food, including sushi and Mongolian barbecue. I didn't like the fact that the green beans were not replenished quickly and that we drank water and still paid $40 for our meal.

My family and I loved the way this place and the service was the very the best and the food was average and the tables and chairs are old for the price of the food you should be able to replace them with no problem. Over 2600 reviews, I guess probably for being the most decent buffet in the area???? But honestly the food was okay, some of the food I tried like the shrimp for example had an aftertaste, orange chicken had too much breading, just isn’t that fresh at all. The server was really nice though. 5 stars for service, 3 stars for the food quality

The outside of it is very run down. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted very politely and it is actually pretty nice and clean inside. So later or server was super sweet on point and very respectful. Now the food, there wasn't much of a selection as in hot ways. The dessert and fruits there was a lot. But the hot food some of it was okay but most of it didn't seem very fresh. It wasn't being refilled probably like most places do. There were certain foods that I particularly like and the first serving I got there was barely any in the pans. I went for a second serving to hopefully it was refilled and not only were those not refilled but there was a couple other ones that were empty as well. So that will probably be our last time we go there. We used to go a lot there when we lived in Garland and it was a lot better. But I don't know what happened with you restaurant is just not the same.

Food and dirty napkins all over the floor. Decent service. Lots of food, but not busy midweek during prime dinner hours. Food acceptable quality. Lots of choices. Everything was acceptably warm. We didn’t find anything undercooked. Very bland, however. Salt and seasoning were a BIG help. With all the available choices in the area, we won’t be returning, but it was overall a decent value for the money.

I like fried salt & pepper squid the best. I only liked half the food that I did try. My husband was same way only like half of what he tried too. I felt like half food was lacking the good taste quality. This place is more like Long John Sliver quality sea food my opinion. With price of what we paid here . We could of went Red Lobster for better quality & taste.

I'm giving this two stars for the simple fact my husband and I just came off a long route and we were starving only to arrive at this buffet and it was going on 9:00 p.m. and they close at 10:00 p.m. . We get there and there was hardly any food fresh out. So we ask one of the waitresses where they placing any more food out and she stated no since they close at 10:00. Why take our money or attempt to take our money if you knew you did not put any fresh food out and it was just scraps. My main complaint is the bathroom stall had large gaps and no lock on the door. The paper dispenser made it difficult to get paper. The buffet itself was ok, a good variety and kids would like many items. The wait staff was great. They do have a senior discount.

The the food here is very bland. Not really too much taste and a bit dry. Attended with my 11-year-old daughter and she agreed that the food has no taste. She said she would NOT like to come back here anymore. The only thing that she liked was the lettuce. Which is really sad because she loves her some orange chicken fried rice and noodles, and she was just not having it and I had to agree with her. Mind you she's only 11.👎🥺

Used to be amazing. Now the food is just... Not good.... Like, it looks good but the flavors are off. My broccoli tasted like bleach, and the catfish was sooooo fishy and kinda slimy inside. I was craving Chinese food so thought of this place, but never again am I setting foot in this restaurant, the food looks really good but lacks flavor, the rice and noodles were bland and most of the food was room temperature not hot at all, and well I like my food hot. Food was disappointing but for the price point, its fair. The seafood in general tastes super fishy as if they let it sit in a fish market. All the vegetables were great but most food was mushy and dry. Dessert was mediocre either tasting sour or stale. They do have a chocolate fountain which was very good!

I arrived right as they opened . This used to be one of my favorite spots. Crab Rangoon was still doughy not Thoroughly cooked. The chicken was undercooked and pink , egg roll tasted of old oil. The Mongolian beef is actually pork so be careful if you don’t eat pork . The green beans were still raw , noodles soggy, the dumplings which are one of my favorites were undercooked and looked as if they had been thrown in cold oil. This was place 16$ not worth it, the place is old not clean and food is tasteless, services are nice though.

This place has gone down hill. We used to come as a family growing up here and e everything was great and delicious and fresh. Now honestly the food is flavorless. It’s not as fresh. The beef from the Hibachi tasted old and like it was rotting. It’s just not the same anymore. I would say find another place to go dine in. Save your money and the disappointment with your family.

This review is based on today's experience. Initial thoughts on the buffet were positive, safety was a need. Unfortunately, not so much with the food. Cross contamination, this is definitely a food safety issue. I spoke up about this with the workers, but it was clear it wasn't going to change. It's been under an hour & that sick feeling is hitting me.

Absolutely disgusting, food tasted like chemicals. Chow main noodles tasted like nothing. Once I started getting American food and started eating chicken nuggets, fries mashed potatoes, tasted like nothing. We had no waiter the entire time. Tables were not clean Janitors cleaning near the buffet instead of cleaning near the tables that were full of trash. If you are looking for somewhere cheap and good I would not recommend this for you. It was a horrid experience. If I could I would give this place a .1 but that’s not possible

First the wait staff is wonderful, Jason you take their 5 to a 1 so I gave them a 3. I have frequented this buffet for more than 20 years, observing multiple food safety violations over this time, but overall it's been ok, and if you eat off a buffet....you rolled the dice. Food in the sauce is kept hot. Everything else not. On 06.09.23 I requested staff reheat Calamari. I was refused (the staff has done it 2 - 3 times a week for the past several months). Manager Jason, tells me it is "fresh - on the line in the last 20 minutes", picks up a piece and tells me it is warm. I stated it was not. I asked him to check it with a thermometer. He did and 2 - 3 pieces were 105* +/-. Jason states the food can be held for 4 hours. Ok, perhaps if held at a safe temp. Repeatedly Jason states it can sit for 4 hours regardless of temp. He states that to have hot food, it must be ordered fresh. I went to the Garland Health Dept website which states food must be held at 135* I showed it to him, he does not agree. I asked for a copy of his most recent food inspection. He tells me I am asking too many questions. Given his Feb. 2023 score was 53, I understand why. I told him several times I would make a complaint to the health department, and multiple times he told me no problem. Apparently, he does not care and is not concerned about repercussions. (Please also require them to place the pan of crisp noodles for the soup under a cover.) The fact the food is held at an unsafe temp. is a problem, but it happens. The fact Jason has over 30 years in the restaurant business (he told me several times) and believes it's okay to hold and serve food at an unsafe safe temp is the larger issue. This place used to be the very best. Jason, you ran it then, and had a place to be proud of. You have stopped caring - I miss the quality of the past.

Staff was amazing, great service! But the overall price was a bit too high for the quality of the food. Also don't think about taking food home in a to-go box unless you want to pay around $5~ per pound for your leftovers, shameful and absurd.

There's a vent near the restroom full of mold, mildew, dust and water. While my sister was eating water was falling on her from the vent. We notified our host and they only apologized. The food was bland and different temperatures as if the old is mixed with the new and not replaced ever. I will not be returning and do not recommend.

This is the only Asian buffet I have seen where the garlic shrimp is coming spicy and I mean really spicy I couldn't even finish eating... Maybe next time McDonald's will be better than this place

First time user on the “To Good to Go” app! I saw Ocean Buffet were participating. Since I never had their food but always wondered how was it this would be a great way to sample the food for $9.99. I was so excited they gave me a nice portion, more than I expected really. When we (family) got home and dug in! The food was horrible! Here is 100% honesty. The chicken wings tasted spoiled you could admittedly tell there was something wrong. The egg rolls had been sitting for sometime if you love egg rolls like I do you know when they are old. There was a seafood mix that was dry and rubbery. The sweet and sour soup was thick and had a weird taste. I realize this is a program to stop food waste but if the food is old or spoiled just throw it out. Don’t give people food poisoning. It’s a great program and I love the concept. By all means support to help fight waste but please be careful and don’t eat anything that truly needs to be discarded. Please try Ocean Buffet for yourself you may have a different experience. I do appreciate their participation in a great cause!

I have been going here with family since this place first opened up. Even the first week it opened. Today we went & the lo mein was molded. The meat on the hibachi line smelled so bad it was spoiled. I told whoever the “ owner” is. And he just looked threw out the molded piece and left everything else contaminated in there. They are very cheap. Cant even replace the stuff for fresh. If this place gets shut down you know its bc someone gets really sick off the food. Disnt even get a discount or “ sorry” nothing. Never going back after this. Spent $90 for the service? Yeah no.

We did not look at reviews before coming here. Should have... Yes, the floor and tables are sticky. Not full of people, so tell me , why thereare there so many tables that haven't been cleaned? I wanted to give them a chance, so I stayed and grabbed chicken on a stick, rice, vegetables, and egg rolls... the egg rolls were a no.... later, I went for some fruit thinking, " You can't mess that up. They force you to leave a tip. My friend and I ate there. He left a tip, but the waitress didn't leave the table and demanded her tip. I didn't know that everyone had to leave a tip. It's the first time and the problem isn't the tip itself, but the way of saying it. I'm sorry.

The price for a to-go order was unexpectedly high, and when I opted to dine in instead, the staff refused to adjust the price. The manager on duty was unprofessional and outright disrespectful, using offensive language and showing no regard for customer service. I've been there 1 time. Food was meh, service was awful. I ordered hot tea and received a pot of luke warm water. I really did try to use it because I couldn't find help. When I finally did get someone's attention they said oh he will do it. He was so high I was surprised he could carry the pot. Will not be returning and do not recommend.

I came in like 2 weeks ago , the service was good our waiter was on point with the drinks she was very kind . The food was great but if u come for the seafood boil or anything seafood . My advice take precautions don't just eat it , always check it . They had a Cajun seafood boil and I grabbed corn and some crawfish I got to eat the corn it was alright when I cracked my crawfish it had a weird smell to it then I taste it thinking maybe it's just seafood smell 🤢 noooo I went to the hospital , I had a bad stomach bug I had all the symptoms I just felt bad for a whole week and a half I got medicine for it . As soon as we sat down we smelt a foul smell and it seemed like it was coming from under the table. We still had our hopes up and went to get food from the buffet. The rice was dry and brittle while the chicken was super sweet and also dry and tasted a little chewy. The noodles were dark brown and looked burnt. We couldn’t even finish one plate no matter how hard we tried liking it. We are used to eating at good chinese buffets so trying this one was definitely a let down.

This place is absolutely atrocious. Ate there today 01/11 for lunch ($20 PER PERSON) and as soon as we got home my mother got violently ill. Called the restaurant to get a refund because that’s actually insane and then you hear the manager in the background “I don’t want to talk to her just get her number” so they didn’t have to work with you. I’ll be filing a complaint with my card issuer to get the money back. DO. NOT. EAT. HERE!!!!

Was not impressed. Outside of restaurant is dirty with trash. They have handicap parking but the supposed concrete ramp at door entry is cracked and broken. Definitely not safe for mobility challenged individuals. The moment you arive it is an overwhelming fishy smell. All the meat I ate tasted like see food , which is gross and off putting. My server stood over my table as I was eating.it was uncomfortable to say the least. The hibachi cook mixed my girlfriends food with the next in line. She ended up with food she doesn't like and it messed up her meal. They also have the food warmers set to high, the tongs as starting to melt, definitely not safe for kids. Seating is plus size friendly and there are alot of food options. Plenty of parking. Decent location. Server was counting tips in front of customers instead of bussing tables. Trash all over floor under tables... Will not be going back

This place is disgusting! The food was hard Stale and old, the fruit was mushy the sushi look like it had been sitting in a fridge for days. The bathroom has graffiti all over it no soap and the water literally comes out dripping. As soon as you walk in this place it’s dinghy the only reason I started was because my daughter was craving Chow mein which we could have gotten up the street at Panda Express YUK YUK YUK
