Looking for good food and craft cocktails in the Finger Lakes? Give Anorah in Geneva a try. We stopped in on a Friday (early) and sat at the bar. So nice to find bao buns on the menu! We tried them all -- delicious! Cocktails were not your average selection; again, great to have something different! The special was a lobster & crab rangoon which was delightful. Our entrees -- the burger and a falafel salad -- were excellent. We'll definitely be back!

The wings and smash burgers were amazing. The woman who attended to us was kind and helpful. So glad we stopped!

*Excellent* For me the hallmark of a good restaurant is the sum of all it’s parts, and Anorah did not disappoint. Having 1 or 2 standout dishes does not make a great restaurant. Knowing you can choose anything off the menu and still have an amazing dinner is what I’m searching for. The Anorah staff was attentive and kind, the cocktails were on point, and each creation was delicious. We ordered almost the full menu for the table to share to get the full experience. The standouts of the evening were the Beet salad, Pork Bao Buns, Beans & Greens, Thai curry, and the Pasta Bolognese. For dessert, the Cannoli's hit home. They are small and delicate in construction and flavor which was the perfect sweet tooth crusher after a large meal, and far more authentic than the Cannoli’s you typically find at restaurants in the area. Overall, a wonderful experience.

What a great spot. Jody took care of us and was wonderful. The fried cauliflower with whipped feta was incredible. Everything we had was so fresh and obviously made with care. Such great flavors- we will be back!

Family had a great time at Anorah. Food was off the charts, easily the best food in Geneva! Get the bao’s! Our favorite was the fish cake bao, but also loved the fried chicken and steak bao’s. Can’t wait to go back for dinner with the family or just for date night! Came with my 1-year old the first time and Shawna couldn’t have been nicer and more welcoming to us!

Went here for dinner last week for the first time and it was amazing! I loved the small menu and uniqueness. The haddock and mushroom buns were delicious and the cocktails were amazing!

What a wonderful experience at Anorah's. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Staff are knowledgeable and they all have great personality. 11 people in our party and no issues with serve to a large group. Everyone loved the drinks, appetizers and dinners. Definitely will be back!

Stopped in for Sunday dinner and were blown away. Everything was top-notch. Think cozy home vibes but very professional. Also, the bartender can make a mean old fashioned using the good ol' sugar cube method. Kudos for that.

We happened to be passing through Geneva on a Sunday night when it felt like everything in this town was closed except this place. And how lucky. The food and cocktails were incredible. Got the mushroom and pork buns, the cauliflower, and the chicken milanese. Anorah is a reason to stop in Geneva during any trip.

Wonderful Easter Brunch! Got chicken Waffles Bao, breakfast tacos, brunch bowl, bloody Mary’s, and a Cinnamon Toast Crunch crème brûlée🤤 Chill atmosphere, attentive service, food was amazing!

This place is a gem in downtown Geneva NY! Food was excellent. Co-owner Chef is very creative. Local farms provide many ingredients. The Fried Green Tomatoes were the best ever! The co-owner was working the bar and waited on us. Great service! Beautiful decor. We will be back!

What a find! Every dish was amazing. We had we calamari, cauliflower, beet salad, lasagne. All really flavorful, delicious and unique. And the bartender made Great Drinks. Best margarita I’ve had away from home in a long time (this should not be hard but for some reason …) Service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Boa buns were a table favorite. If you like spicy go for the fried chicken option, but the pork belly was just as delicious. The real star was the bun itself - it was perfection. From Calamari to clams casino (the real deal) and seafood polenta, our table was delighted by all of the seafood dishes we tried. My personal favorite was the Chicken Paprikash. Service was prompt and thoughtful, suggesting wines from the list based on preference which were on point with what we were after. We had an excellent meal and would recommend this new place to anyone interested in taking a culinary journey through this New American Cuisine menu.

Anorah did a great job with our group of 12. We enjoyed the space and the food. Two must tries - short rib cheese fries and yuzi posset dessert. I hope tips are shared with the kitchen!

My girlfriend and I had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to go there for our anniversary. Started with the cheesy fries and specialty cocktail, phenomenal. For the entrees we got the salmon and adobo chicken, great portions and some of the best salmon we have had while out. Food was flavored perfectly, and not overwhelmed with salt or oils. We left full but not heavy. Great service too, everyone pitched in, they were responsive when asking about NA beverages and suggested which of their cocktails made a great mocktail. The makeover of the restaurant is fresh, bright, but still had the classic intimate feel.

So, so happy with the entire experience at Anorah— the food, the atmosphere, the service. We went here on a whim on the way to a concert in Canadaigua and I’m so glad we did. We had the chipotle chicken wrap and the falafel salad with chicken, with a piece of their peanut putter pie for dessert. All delicious. I love that they use local, seasonal ingredients and that their menu constantly changes with the time of year. Can't wait to go back and see what new dishes are on the menu.

Happened on this restaurant while looking for something to eat in the area. It had many good reviews, so we gave it a try, and we were not disappointed! The vibe was great, and our server was kind and attentive. The food was flavorful and the portions were generous. It was easily one of the best places we tried on our trip!

A stunning experience from start to finish. My family and I ordered just about everything on the menu to share and each item was a hit (flavor, portion size, and presentation were all 10/10). The space itself is beautifully renovated, but with true charm that honors the structure of the building. You can feel the soul in this place. I can’t wait to go back.

Wow. Dinner out with friends and we were very impressed. I had the astronaut juice which was a bright orange cocktail. The chicken bao was a great starter w the yellow pepper aioli. The whipped feta w olives was something special, the Poke bowl was fresh and super delicious.

My husband and I ate at Anorah this past Sunday and it was absolutely the best meal we’ve ever had. It was obvious everything was made from scratch and a lot of creativity and talent went into creating the dishes. We had the pork belly pao bun, the calamari, steak kabobs, bolognese and mussel toast. Everything was delicious. The mussel toast had the tastiest coconut saffron sauce. I could eat that for days. My husband went on and on about the bolognese. We asked about the making of the sauce and whoa, the amount of prep that goes into it deserves at least the $27 price. I would recommend this restaurant for sure. Beyond the amazing food, we had quick and friendly service.

We were greeted in a friendly, professional manner right away, and promptly seated. Within minutes we had a warm welcome and menus, with descriptions of specials and the menu. We ordered two cocktails, which were expertly crafted and delicious (martini and Negroni). We had the Chicken Adobo and Steak Kabobs, with the calamari appetizer. The appetizer was zesty and crunchy, and the house aioli was excellent. The Chicken Adobo might as well have been made by a Filipino grandmother who made it her entire life. Deliciously zesty, complex, and sweet/spicy. The steak was from a local farm and cooked brilliantly. I got it medium rare and it was tender and lightly spiced with the perfect springtime salad. The wine list is also terrific. We enjoyed Ann Pichon Grenache 2021, which was dense, heavy and bold. We enjoyed it. It is a nice list overall, and easy to pick a good wine, because they made it simple. All in a terrific place and would highly recommend.

Flavors in those steamed buns (and the rest of my meal too) just blew my mind. Will be coming back again ASAP! Old fashioned was also spot on, larger single cube and everything perfectly aligned. Yum!

Road weary and hungry, our spirits were lifted dining at Anorah. This is a special spot; the thoughtfulness, passion, and creativity in every cocktail and dish does not go unnoticed. You’ll leave here already planning your next visit. An absolute gem in Geneva.

Finally made it to Anorah on Friday night and it was excellent. Beautiful space, awesome staff, DELICIOUS food and fun curated drink menu. Don’t sleep on the bao buns, tuna tartare, or caesar salad - even standards like this have a fresh twist and everything we ordered had such balanced, nuanced complexity and new surprising touches. The chicken adobo was my favorite entree, and the ribeye on the steak kebab was cooked to *perfection*. They have a rotating seasonal menu so some of these options may not still be available when you go, but go! You really can’t go wrong. If they still have the High Tea in Barbados cocktail it came in a beautiful vintage tea cup and saucer and was a fun way to wrap up the meal with their fresh and light panacotta. When Red Dove closed there was a huge void left open in the Geneva restaurant scene and Anorah is honoring that legacy - I’m so happy to have Anorah in town and excited to watch them grow!! And eat as much off their menu as I possibly can. :) easy weeknight dinner spot and also great for date night on the weekend before heading over to Linden for some outdoor music and drinks. Thanks Anorah for making my birthday a special one <3

superb food & superior hospitality we enjoyed the Gochujang Beef Bao & fried cod taco to start. so tender, so delish. Entrees: chicken marsala & the pasta of the day (fresh spaghetti, scallop/shrimp/mussels in a savory tomato sauce). debatably the best chix marsala we’ve had. the Hatorri Hanzo needs to become a renown signature cocktail. japanese elegance in a chilled coupe 👌 LUNCH is also great - loved the Grain Bowl very chill, very hip can’t wait to come back!

I just went to have dinner with my husband and my in laws and the food was outstanding, so far my favorite restaurant in upstate ny. The staff was sweet and charming, a lady was being trained and she loved the interaction with both the server and the server in training. Finally, to make it even better it seems to be very welcoming to the LGBTQIA+ community, and that’s just the cherry on top. The pork belly bao, the crispy rice salad, the loaded fries and the gochujang cauliflower were my favorites. 10/10 try it!

Service is great - the staff is down-to-earth and kind; our servers have found the balance of being readily available while never hovering. We can't say enough about the food which has never disappointed (we have dined here at least 5x). Yes they do a burger but we always try their specials and love them - made with creativity and care they always impress us. We consistently order bao buns (with either shrimp or pork (sometimes with other fillings)) for our appetizer - they're always amazingly delicious. We highly recommend this place! -- Pictured is an orange shrimp dish with mushrooms and rice; burrata cheese with peaches, olives and cashews.

My best friend and I went in, sat in the coziest bar stools of all time, and ordered ALL of the "BITS", as well as one "BIG" which was the Chicken Paprikash (...crunchy au gratin, yes please 🤤)! I can't even give you a favorite. I mean it, everything tasted incredible and SO unique. I love a restaurant that sources and supports local, and you can tell by the quality of these dishes from the very first bite! I would've paid double for both the taste and the experience, I already can't wait to go back. Geneva got lucky with this one. 💕

We held an event here and everything was spectacular from the service, food, and set up. The restaurant itself is very cute and has an intimate feel. Shawna and the servers did everything they could to make our evening great, even adding edible flowers to the meals to make it feel fancy. Also, our group couldn’t stop raving about the cocktails, especially the white Negroni! I would 100% recommend stopping in, this is one of the gems in downtown Geneva!

We showed up at 5 when they opened and were seated right away. The food and drinks were amazing and came out quickly! We ordered the pork bun, a seasonal grain salad, and the gochujang cauliflower and everything was great.

The dinner menu is concise, but with that said I've had one of the best burgers of my life here!! At one point they had a crispy chicken sandwich on the menu and it was what dreams are made of. Notes: Bring back the chicken sandwich please and thank you. Overall: 5/5

We showed up at 5 when they opened and were seated right away. The food and drinks were amazing and came out quickly! We ordered the pork bun, a seasonal grain salad, and the gochujang cauliflower and everything was great.

This restaurant is a MUST! Was there this past weekend for HWS Parents Weekend. We didn’t have a reservation, we just walked in and sat at the bar. Madison took great care of us and the food was outstanding. Very comfortable bar chairs to boot. Go see them, staff, food and service were OUTSTANDING!!!!

My husband and I were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and looking for a place to have a nice dinner We had heard from someone that we should try Anorah and we we’re definitely surprised The food, the cocktails and the vibe were great and the food was amazing!! We held an event here and everything was spectacular from the service, food, and set up. The restaurant itself is very cute and has an intimate feel. Shawna and the servers did everything they could to make our evening great, even adding edible flowers to the meals to make it feel fancy. Also, our group couldn’t stop raving about the cocktails, especially the white Negroni! I would 100% recommend stopping in, this is one of the gems in downtown Geneva!

The food was so good! We got the pork belly boa buns, the chicken wrap, the muffin burger, and calamari. The calamari was amazing-probably the best in the area, the chicken wrap was delicious and fresh, and the bao buns were melt in your mouth. The only critique we have is that the music was too loud, ha. Service was awesome, and we will be coming back.

Anorah is pretty new to Geneva and it appears to still be finding its feet. The main course I had, saffron-braised beef, was missing a couple of the promised ingredients in the menu. And the service was a tad disorganized; the bartender did not show up until half-an-hour after opening. But the food was still excellent, the drinks show promise, and the staff were friendly. And it is large enough not to feel cramped at the bar; the atmosphere is semi-homey with a bit of lived-in feel. Some bugs to work out, but this was probably the best restaurant experience I had for my winery tour vacation this year; I plan to give them another try next year.

We enjoyed our time. The staff was very kind and the food was tasty. The fish was excellent but fries had a bit too much salt. The chicken wrap was ok. I would adjust the peanut butter pie by coating the top with shaved chocolate and a chocolate ganache drizzle & adding the fantastic pb crumble. It was difficult to cut into the pie with the thick ganache.

Service, atmosphere and cocktails were great, however the food was subpar— the Mahi tacos and salsa verde were a 3/10, chicken piccata wasn’t great either but the pork belly bun was delicious. Would recommend for drinks.

I was shocked first by the prices… it just seems like they know they have a captive audience and they can charge whatever they want, but then the food came. The quality is average, but the amount of food you get for the prices… 🙄 Calamari and rock shrimp $18. Impossibly small plate of food for that price. I ordered the chicken paprikash. $39. First the potatoes they consider as “au gratin” are layers of potatoes deep fried. the oil was no way near hot enough (also, who fries potatoes au gratin?), and the potatoes absorbed it all, and created layers of oil. Then the chicken… I’m convinced they served me ripped up pieces of a Wegmans rotisserie chicken and slapped some sauce on there. For $39, the meal better be exceptional. My friend ordered the bolognese. While the flavor was ok, there was not enough meat sauce to coat the (overcooked) pasta. Also overpriced. My martini was over-vermouthed. I can safely say I would never go back.

We called to book a reservation for 3. They dont take reservations for anything under six people. The hostess told us that we could get seated if we arrived before 6pm. We arrived at 550pm. We were told it would be a 1.5 hour wait and there were 4 tables empty that we could see. We told her we would come back in an hour- 1 hour and a half. But they refused to put us on a list for a future table in an hour and a half and we were told it's first come first serve. They had no waiting space at all. Horrible front of the house policy. It doesn't matter if the food is good. We never got to taste it. There are other restaurants that will seat a party of 3, or at the very least, east take a name down for a future table when you are physically in the restaurant.

Honestly, I was very excited to try this place, but it wasn’t a good experience. The wait time to get our appetizers and entrees was well over two hours. It wasn’t busy! The appetizer, when we got it, were good, but waiting around for the food wasn’t worth it. Our server tried to make things better. We ended up having them pack our entrees to go. The drinks were subpar. I had to go to the bar and ask for more olive juice for my dirty martini. The braised beef was full of everything but the meat. I don’t know if I’ll go back. ETA - responding to the owner. We waited well over 26 minutes for our entrees. We’ve been out to eat at different restaurants on several occasions and never had to wait long. Also, it wasn’t that busy. Thanks for your response, but your defensive tone doesn’t seem open to any other criticism.
