The food was excellent the pricing was high too dark in the dining room used a small flashlight to see our menus...
Fantastic dinning experience. We we're out in the Hamptons, I researched the location before we arrived made reservations, and it was wonderful...
The food is consistently delicious. The service is also spot on. It is our go to restaurant.
Great place been going here for years. Always consistent and delicious. Can't go wrong with the veil saltumboca.
Nice place, great value .. we enjoyed our meal.
Excellent food with unique dishes and a varied menu. Veal dishes in particular were delicious.
Best local Italian food. Cozy, and comfortable, great service, but the food is why you should go here.
It's a cool old school setting with consistently good food...especially the duck with Bing cherries and the veal saltimbocca.
If you're tired of homogenized, soulless places and want a comfortable, old school (in the best possible way) place to relax and enjoy terrific food in a cozy atmosphere, this is a great choice.
Delicious food in a very nice setting (even if not on the water) The staff are attentive, service is great
Excellent food!!! Great service!!!! It gets no better than this!!! It is also very reasonably priced!!!
Delicious food enjoyed by our party of four in a beautiful, warm and inviting setting. Ambiance so very lacking in so many restaurants these days...looking forward to returning.
Old World Visual Treat. Takes you back to another era, huge room, fireplace, high ceilings. Truiy magnificent event room. Menu is solid traditional Italian- everyone raves about the Duck & everything comes with sides kf vegetables or pasta at no additional charge! What happened to those days, huh? Villa Paul remembers how its done. Come back to the Past in the Near Future!
A great Italian mainstay with familiar dishes in an old style yet robust atmosphere, not a too complex menu with family favorites. Reasonably priced. Great for a cute date.
The food is always amazing and the staff are great. I have been going there for years and it has never disappointed anyone in my party. The catering is great too.
If you want excellent food, a nice wine list, a warm atmosphere, and an attentive staff, this is the place I highly recommend. We have been very satisfied on each and every occasion!
Great food. Loved it all. Duck seems to be popular. Lamb chops were outstanding! Butter birckle cheesecake pie was delish. Will be back soon!
Great food, great atmosphere. Had roast duckling stuffed with apple and raisin stuffing and covered with a black cherry sauce. Very good!
I attended a Southampton Chamber Networking Event at Villa Paul. I was impressed with the food as well as the staff. The restaurant has a lovely charm to it. I would definitely go back!
I had the Eggplant tower and it was out of this world delicious. I hate eggplant. I hate mozzarella. I hate balsamic. Some how Villa Paul managed to turn things I hate into a master piece I've been craving for days. There is something for everyone on their menu.
Best place in town,a must go if you haven't been yet.....but then the question is WHY haven't you gone there yet...Just Spot on Every time DELICIOUS food and a Great Staff as well
lovely service, delicious old school food on an attractive veranda. Duck was great as most reviews indicated it would be.
Great genuine Italian style food with generous portions, generous wine glasses and very nice staff....highly recommend....good honest food that will make you feel good....nice wine selection too...
Absolutely fantastic! Ppl were so nice food was so good I wanted to take everything home as seconds but was so full but couldn't stop eating! A must go to!
Staff is friendly, food is Great ..we go to Villa Paul for Thanksgiving when we visit family ... can't say I have a favorite dish yet as everything is delicious ..💖
The food is always good and the atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly and kind. I'm never disappointed. Best food in the Hamptons.
Best food, service, but most of all Cristan is the best bartender of all times. My question is how can DAN'S PAPER over look Villa Paul with there restaurant reviews?
Great to have dinner or just appetizers and drinks....good value, friendly atmosphere and a reasonably good wine selection...
Cozy, low key, atmosphere. Nice bar with solid pub food choices. Food is delicious and the service is great.
Cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant with friendly service! Have been going here since childhood & can honestly say there I can't pick a favorite dish!
We went to the bar..the bartender Jim Patterson is AWESOME!! A wonderful guy I've known since HS....he IS the MAN!!😎🎸🎸🎸
My family and I visited Villa Paul last night for the first time and it was delicious. I love that it is a family owned restaurant and the owner made sure that we were okay and enjoyed our meal. Our server Jeff was patient and informative. Great steaks and wine selection. We will definitely be back.
Our very favorite restaurant! The food is always superb and the ambiance is warm and inviting. We are a large family of professional chefs and foodies and we are pretty hard to please. We have never been disappointed at Villa Paul. Reservations are a must, as it is a popular dining spot. If you can visit for the fall and winter holidays, you will enjoy the holiday decorations and the roaring fireplace, which gives it the charm of an old country inn. Don't skip dessert, they are all homemade specialties and absolutely worth the calories! A newly expanded wine list has something for every taste. Prices can be a bit steep, but portions are ample and we always have some to take home for another meal, though they do allow half portions on some pasta plates. This is a great place for celebrating a special occasion with family or a romantic dinner for two. I know they also have large rooms available for parties and have a catering menu, though I have not used either option to date. The bar menu sounds great and is available in the dining room if you are looking to spend a bit less and eat a more informal meal. Either way, you are going to enjoy the experience. There is a wide variety of dishes available and daily specials. There is also the option of an early bird prix fixe menu. Check their website for more info. I highly recommend Villa Paul Restaurant!
We unexpectedly found ourselves at Villa Paul this rainy afternoon. The service was beyond commendable, from our waiter to the bussers, we were doted on and treated very well. The food was excellent and plentiful. We've wanted to dine here for quite some time and we were so glad that we finally had the opportunity to do so!! We will be back for sure!!!
This was the best, granted we went after a funeral. Large buffet, fairly cheap for what's offered. All food was amazing, and the desert was nothing but immaculate. The coffee so delicious you can even drink it black.
Group luncheon. They took such good care of us. The food was excellent, seafood apps were so good. Thank you. For
Never disappointed this is a wonderful comfortable dining room offering spacious tables and quite dining. Favorites clams on the half shell, home made spinach and cheese ravioli in a wonderfully rich meat sauce, veal , shrimp, fish are all great, we also like there soups. Service is with a smile, professional and attentive. Oh did I mention the drinks you should visit.
We had a great experience here. Very old school , and the older woman who was on the floor was a little overbearing. Our service was great and they accommodated us without a reservation. Our server was amazing. The seating is very open.
Had a private party of 50 and they opened just for us. They did an outstanding job. I'd love to go for dinner when I'm back in Hampton Bays. Parking is easy and the restrooms were clean and nice.
Such a perfect little homey dinner spot. Service is great and food is delicious. So lucky to have a restaurant like this in our town.
This traditional Italian restaurant in an old house has a warm and cozy dining room with a fireplace. Casual dining with excellent food. Clams casino and eggplant tower appetizers off the chart and Veal Saltimbocca great. Great menu selections
Went here for lunch with family & friends. They set up a buffet-style luncheon with chicken, pasta, salad, salmon, dessert cakes. The food was delicious, service was timely & professional.
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Hampton Bays. I had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, decor was so warm and welcoming, and the service was amazing. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in town.
We ate there a year ago for my Birthday. Amazing food and service. I had the fish special of the night, it was delicious.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE, I always recommend Villa Paul’s to my friends because of how good it is. I highly recommend the homemade ravioli! The calamari of course And anything else on the menu because trust me it’s worth a try 😊
Italian food in a pleasant atmosphere. Some rooms are quieter than others. The service is helpful and pleasant. Prices are average for the Hamptons. Parking on cite.Reservations are a good idea.
We miss our favorite restaurant~although we appreciated the Villa Paul for 40 years now that we are no longer living in Hampton Bays we find ourselves dreaming and wishing we could beem ourselves back to the great atmosphere, fabulous food and top notch service. Really good consistent dining is hard to find ~♡~ Chicken Caprina to go please~ also a dozen ice cold top necks and Christines famous Margaritas. I can't even think about all the home made desserts!
Favorite Italian Restaurant. Great food, wonderful staff!! I've never been disappointed. My husband took me on our first date...and 20 years later still amazing!
Seating was very accommodating due to handicapped individual. Dinner was delicious, my swordfish was perfect and my husband loved the duck. Miguel was very attentive, personally + and very fun!! We will definitely be back.
I used to eat here many years ago. (Many). We found ourselves in the neighborhood and had to go in. Our waiter was Frank and he was so friendly and attentive. (Thanks for the Netflix recommendation 😀 ). I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and to my surprise they were actually amazing. Definitely homemade. Hopefully we will be back soon!
Good Italian comfort food. Salmon was very good, cooked as requested, had the sauce on the side. I had the eggplant parm with a side of spaghetti, too much parm cheese for my liking but still good. Definitely recommend reservations on the weekend. Cozy warm feeling dining room. Owner said they are understaffed but you'd never know it, great service by all.
Hands down my favorite restaurant. Old school, classic Italian food at it's finest. Drinks, appetizers, entrees are all delightful and definitely save room for dessert!!! Jeffrey is the best server, request him- you won't be disappointed!
The food was great, the wine was great, but the SERVICE is why I'm writing a review. My girlfriend and I were looking for a dinner spot on a Sunday. Several places advertised that they were open, but when we called none of them would accommodate. Not only were they willing to seat us at 8:50 PM, they served us promptly without rushing us. The staff was extremely friendly and the food did not disappoint! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a warm atmosphere!
This is a well established, charming restaurant with a delicious menu and dining rooms. They have a warm and inviting decor and a good sized bar. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and started with fresh Mozzarella and Clams Casino. Sweet and delicious. For dinner, I enjoyed their Duck with Cherries. Crispy skin, a rich side sauce, and creamy rice made this a superb choice. My husband enjoyed a grilled 24 oz — Porterhouse Steak. Perfectly done to his liking, he ate every bite. We opted for ice cream and espresso for dessert. As always, it was a most enjoyable meal. We saw no ghosts but would return for a psychic night here. The restaurant does have a rich history of apparitions and unexplained movements and noises. Perhaps the adjacent cemetery residents make occasional passings and staff seem to see them while not much else is going on to distract them like a full house of diners. And if you think you will see the cemetery's headstones across from the parking lot, not to worry, you won't. A previous realtor had them all removed to make the property more attractive for sale. Thus, whether you are a believer or non-believer, one thing for sure if you will get a great meal prepared by a talented chef and enjoy your visit.
This place is great! I had the eggplant parm, cooked perfectly not gross and mushy at all, tried meatballs which were excellent. The fried calamari was really great to start off, atmosphere was really cozy, great drinks and their coconut sundae dessert was really tasty. A fine dining experience, I would absolutely recommend again and will be returning!
I took my Wife for her Birthday Dinner.. the ambience during Christmas was beautiful!.. let me start with the waitstaff.. professional, attentive, really made us feel special!.. a beautiful setting of an old House.. the visual atmosphere of the place was very relaxing.. started off with Clams Oreganatta .. top necks.. came out perfect!.. had some perfectly prepared Old Fashioned Bourbon cocktails to start, followed by my main course ..Veal Marsala.. tender!.. the sauce was beyond compare and a generous portion!.. My Wife had Eggplant Parmesan ( Her favorite).. I sampled some and it was cooked perfectly and generous portions.. overall my experience there was above expectations.. I don’t write reviews really, but this place deserves it for the pride in their business and attention to every detail.. it’s been around since the 50s I think.. but a little known secret because a lot of local older residents frequent there.. it’s located in an non obtrusive spot right off Montauk Hwy in Hampton Bays.. try it!.. you won’t be disappointed.. and the prices are extremely reasonable!.. you almost say “ what?” When you get the bill… you’d spend the same at an Applebees or Fridays for a night out.. total gem
This place is amazing! This was my first time going here for my mother-in-laws birthday and it was the best restaurant experience I've had in a very long time. Service was amazing! Food was phenomenal, I eat more then I've had in so long I had a good baby lol. And my mother in law is in a wheel chair and they were wonderful at accommodating her! Would recommend many to go there. Still be coming back soon!
Amazing food and amazing service This is a real hidden spot. It a very home feel restaurant with absolutely killer food.
My husband and I went out to a restaurant down the street on our first night of our honeymoon and the service was HORRIBLE that we had to leave so at like 8:30 PM we strolled into the closest place that was opened which waa open which was Villa Paul. Immediately greeted by Patty and told her the story, she took such good care of us. She gave us food recommendations, spoiled us with amazing servings of bread, and even packed up our leftovers at the end of the night. We had the clams casino, calamari, garlic bread, surf and turf, duck with cherrry sauce, pasta and had a couple desserts to go. Everything was AMAZING!!! This place is a hidden gem
Their dishes are delicious, one of my favorite appetizers there, are the bake clams. As a main dish their prime rib is one of the best, cook to perfection. They have an ample selection of drinks from wines to cocktails. They have a private room, great for company parties. We have attended different events at that private room. Overall we enjoy this restaurant, totally recommend it.
The Villa Paul has always been my favorite restaurant. For years, since I was young my family and I have had Birthdays, Graduations, Memorials, and both Bridal and Baby Showers there. They have never disappointed. Eveything is always great. The staff and chefs are wonderful and Jim is always beyond accommodating. Great Place!
I recently hosted a celebration of life luncheon at Villa Paul. They were super accommodating and understanding. I wasn’t sure what time the funeral services would be completed and so we arrived very early en mass at the restaurant. We were greeted graciously and welcomed to come in as they set up. The food at Villa Paul never disappoints and was plentiful and delicious. The service was professional, polite and very helpful. I highly recommend
With the fireplace and wood paneling this resturant's dining room is amazingly beautiful. Our fish specials were delicious as were the vegetables. We were too full for desert but enjoyed their generous speciality blueberry drink and IPA. The waitstaff made excellent recommendations and were very pleasant. The dining room was very cozy with the fireplace and wonderful details. The bathroom was artfully decorated.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in this historic restaurant. The service was particularly good.
It has great food and a consistent menu. The wait staff are wonderful.
Nice family-oriented place ….ask for Paul tell him you want pasta and you want it fasta …lol ! Don’t tell him that just say Steady sent you !
Above average food. Excellent garlic bread. Good service. Seves a predominantly older, mellow clientele.
An neighborhood Italian restaurant serving classical Italian dishes. Great service. Good for large groups. The wine selection was good. As for the menu, I recommend sticking to the classics.
Only on tonight. Pat the waitress is great but the other staff was not so good. The food came out cold and had to be sent back by multiple people tonight
Very nice restaurant, had a catered dinner, none of the meats wowed me. But the cake & pasta were delicious!
I came here with a group while at a weekend family function . The service was excellent and everyone was happy with his/ her meal. Portions were just enough. The only complaint is that the very small tasty sides of broccoli rabe was about 2 tablespoons but the mashed potatoes were more generous. The bay scallops special were a good choice but would not have filled me up if that's all I ate . I'm sure that if I hadn't eaten a lot of flat breads before while having a drink, I would have still been hungry . This is a nice place with romantic ambiance. It's worth having a dinner here. There was plenty of parking.
Delicious meal and friendly thoughtful service in a setting that will take you back to a time long before you were born.
The service was excellant! Our waitress was outstanding! This was the first time my husband and myself have been here, we were very disappointed with the food. Not as good as we were expecting! Most likely not going back!!!
Food was very good but service was extremely slow. The waitress disappeared for long periods of time and we think that was because she was only 1 of 2 servers working that night.
Lovely experience. The Long Island Duck and Filet were both amazing. Wait staff was young, eager, and exceedingly friendly. Will be visiting again soon!
Classic italian cuisine. The building, various dinning rooms and bar make the experience unique. We have been eating hear for 25 plus years and ha e never had a bad meal.
Good food with decent prices. Waitress service was good but the bartender seems to tend to the customers sitting at the bar and not making drinks. We sat at a the table near by the bar and watched the bartender as we waiting on our drinks. Finally after 10 minutes she picked up the tickets and showed the customes at the bar that she was a little behind there were some 7 to 10 tickets (including our drink order). I would recommend this restaurant, good food and waiter/waitress service just be sure to be patient waiting for your cocktail.
Food was excellent and service was very attentive. I think prices are reasonable. Was disappointed that we had to sit in the other room on Valentine's Day...it was bright and no fireplace. No real decor. The main dining area was much nicer.
Really nice place. Very cozy atmosphere. A little older crowd. Friendly attentive staff. Drinks were very good. Food was delicious. No pics of dinner, but filet mignon and shrimp was top notch. French onion soup was good. Mozzarella and roasted peppers. We ate everything. And we saved room for dessert. Tiramisu was one of the best...and my wife and I are connoisseurs. Brownie a la mode was outstanding. Would highly reccomend this place. Looking forward to coming back.
To be fair I've only been here once and my rating would have been higher because I know the quality and freshness are there...But.....the steak was cold, softshell crabs must have been great because they sold out. Clams casino perfect and fresh.Get the Malbec devantered and you won't be sorry, it's delicious. Like I said I'm gonna re-create theis place but can't go higher than 3 on cold steak (which was the last one and a different steak took it's place on 10 min...hmm)
Nice atmosphere and the food was decent but the waitress looked like it's her first day and the portion was TINY for the amount of money they charge.
had mozzarella and pepper app. mozzarella was old. no flavor. duck was excellent. both in party enjoyed entrees
The food was ok at best, our visit (4) all declared 1 and done the service was very good and the Ambience was pretty good as well, we just expected more out of it, food wise.
Went there for new years eve. We both had filet mignon, which was supposed to be served with garlic mashed potatoes and special glaze for filet. Sauce was literally ketchup and potato was baked. When asked about mashed potatoes they brought out instant mashed potatoes.. and when asked about the glaze we were told that was the glaze.. ketchup! Come on! Would have been great if they just explained they ran out of mashed potatoes and had to substitute with baked but no one even mentioned it. And for a restaurant to serve instant potatoes is a disgrace.. Gordon Ramsey would have had a field day!
Hosted a 75th birthday dinner for party of 6 this weekend. Steak, and sliders and chicken was undercooked, clams were burt and black. Extended family has dined here for years usualy excellent. We know service and food can do better, please inprove food quality. We will try again in future..
We've been there to celebrate my husband's birthday. We ordered Red Snapper and Chicken for main course. Unfortunately, the food was very plain, tasteless, not enough condiments. We were disappointed. Dessert- Creme Brule was good. Ladies restroom was very nice and clean. We'll never return. Cannot recommend.
The waitress didn't introduce herself when she came to the table and she was very slow at bringing the food the drinks and everything else. The busboy when he packed up the food put the potato peels in there and the potato was already eaten and mixed it in with the food how unprofessional. They should actually fire someone like that.
My eggplant was burned as was my friends. We sat there for over 20 min. and the waitress still had not come to our table to check on everything. I got up asked a male worker if he could get our waitress. Then a busboy(? )showed up. I explained the situation. He gets the waitress. She then gets the manager who was the one I initially spoke to. I explained AGAIN the situation. He charged us for a salad (the size of your palm.) And he charged my friend for the pasta that he barely touched. I will NEVER go there again And I have informed my friends. Shame on them for such unacceptable service...or rather lack of. If there were negative stars that I could rate on..It would get a negative 5 star!!
Had a reservation for 8pm and upon arrival was informed our table was paying their check. Here we are 40 minutes later and no acknowledgement that we are still at the bar WAITING to be seated. JIM Could not have cared less that we were inconvenienced. WOULD have loved the opportunity to move on to the next place. Hospitality does not exist here. Not even an offer of a drink........
Overall food was just ok but the experience was right out of a Seinfeld episode. Our waitress had no clue (maybe first day on job) I asked for list of specials, she had to get the waiter after 10 min... I asked if they served classic Cesar salad, again had to find waiter I specifically asked if it had anchovies and was told yes. Upon checking the bill later I was miffed to find an extra 4 bucks tacked on for the anchovies.! Now I''m no gourmand but I know what a Caesar salad should contain, but here is where it gets real weird.... I seek out the hostess to ask for a 4 buck credit (this is a 100 dollar check after all. She gets very belligerent immediately and says absolutely No way! I press her about the fact that I was not informed of extra charge. She gets angry and get this...she threatens to call the POLICE! Can you imagine? Needless to say I have lost Villa Paul's phone number. The good news is I didn't have to go to jail for some anchovies!
Always have enjoyed Villa Paul and my experience dining in but not thrilled with recent large order placed for pick up for Thanksgiving. ($1000)Feel there was a communication breakdown on order placed by the restaurant and when I called to go over with the manager didn't get the feeling he cared.
