It’s so easy to complain when things go wrong, but today I want to personally thank Mrs. Paula for going above and beyond and making a 4 year old day a complete success and one to remember. She was crowned with a tiara and enjoyed princess tea! Server was awesome and constantly checking on us. We preordered our food and was ready when were seated! Enjoyed the food we ordered and the little ladies enjoyed their trays and tea pots. Again thanks again for an experience she has not stop talking about!! Suggestions: I would recommend a group booking option online because of a lot of miscommunication given prior to our experience.
I cannot capture how incredible this spot is in words—it’s truly a gem and the ideal spot for a casual afternoon meeting, gala prep discussions, a quiet moment with a book, a monthly life check up with girlfriends and everything between. The sun is out and you have a little time to spare is reason enough to pop into Queen Bee’s!
I originally had booked the tea around town bus but they sent a text canceling one hour before. Not surprised since I’ve seen their bad reviews now. My oldest daughter is leaving to Venezuela to join her now deported husband and it was one of the things I really wanted to do with them before she leaves. Not sure when I’ll see her again. Found and booked this place and when I showed up the hostess said she didn’t see my reservation. I pulled up the email confirmation and turns out I booked for the wrong weekend 🤦🏻♀️. Well they accommodated us and we had a great time. The hostess even gave my girls crowns ❤️. The waitress was so attentive. The whole staff was all so kind. Thank you for letting us make some memories together.
Queen Bee's Tea Room recently hosted The Alley Theatre's Importance of Being Earnest Cast, Creatives and Crew. We had the best time experiencing a delightful "high tea" afternoon on our rehearsal break. The staff was so informative, kind and professional (from booking through the end of the event)! Also have to mention how beautiful it looks inside and out! Thanks, until next time!
We hosted a private business event here at night and it was lovely. We were able to fit 50 people in this adorable space and have a program, and Queen Bee's handled the food and drinks. The event coordination staff worked with us extensively before and during the event to make sure everything went off without a hitch and the tables were arranged as we wanted, etc. We had a buffet with passed champagne and open bar and everyone was able to eat what they wanted without servers interrupting our program. I appreciated that the menu selections for a private event were more extensive than the regular menu, which gave us options to meet everyone's dietary requirements. Would definitely recommend this place for future events. Attendees remarked on how cute it was, one person said that the whole place was a photo backdrop -- so true. Our pictures all turned out great! Definitely recommend!
We had the absolute most incredible time at this venue on April 3rd, 2026 to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. The entire experience felt like we were watch the filming of a Disney Princess Movie! The Tea, the food and the experience was a delight and no detail was left out!! The atmosphere was filled with magic. There has never in my 59 years of living been a better birthday experience than this one! I am still pinching myself over the joy and the memories we made on this special day at this special venue.
I had the privilege to visit Queen Bee’s Tea Room. The first time I attended was the grand opening in October and I can still proudly say that this place is awesome. As a young woman myself the ambiance and interior is stunning. Great for IG pics and cute girly get togethers. The service I was given was exceptional, specially Kristy. Fast service. Kind demeanor. Lovely music. I live 30 mins south and I Highly recommend to anyone in the Houston area looking for a good Brunch/Tea spot.
Such a cute spot for afternoon tea. Queen Bee’s Tea Room feels like a mix of classic tea service with a more modern, Southern twist. The menu felt really thoughtful and not overly heavy like some traditional tea spreads. I appreciated that they had options that worked for pescatarian diets, which isn’t always easy to find. Everything we tried was fresh and well put together, and the presentation was really pretty without feeling over the top. The space itself is charming with lots of little bee details, and the patio is a nice option if the weather is good. It’s a great place for a girls day, birthday, or something a little different to do in Houston. I’d definitely go back.
We got the Lone Star Lavender Grey and the Panhandle Pear too and they were both delicious and gave us a nice caffeine buzz. For $6 per tea its a very nice experience with all the nice teaware. Desserts were a little small for the price, the cheesecake was very good. They have full afternoon tea experiences, will be back to try it sometime.
Queen Bee's Tea Room is an adorable addition to Houston's afternoon tea scene. The space is large and adorably decorated with lots of natural light and both indoor + outdoor seating. When I visited on a Saturday (Oct '25), they had a valet-only lot, as well as street parking available. All of the staff were so friendly, greeted us right away, came to check on us often, and were very personable all around. The tea service offered unique treats and fun spins on some of the 'classic' items. Each person gets their own pot of tea, and they are served in cute little bags. We saw a variety of people there, including a girls' brunch, a date, and a children's birthday tea. They also offer an individual menu, in addition to the tea service, and we were told they will soon offer happy hour / dinner bites, too. I'm excited to see how the space evolves and hope they stick around for a while!
Me and my mother had our Christmas lunch at Queen Bee's today. I am a huge coffee lover, but I was convinced tea has a lot to offer today. I've always wanted to experience a traditional tea, at we loved it! We drove in from the north Conroe area because we really wanted the right atmosphere. Everywhere else is plain or outdated. The person that put together all the details in the decor at Queen Bee's knew what they were doing. The food was amazing. The staff are very attentive. And the tea was excellent! We will be back.
We very much enjoyed the experience (10/10), food (12/10), and beverages (10/10) during our afternoon at Quee Bee's Tea Room. Our server was knowledgeable and very kind. My daughter and her BFF said they had found their happy place!! I am so glad we enjoyed our Galentines with Queen Bee's Tea Room.
I’m a full time traveler and this has been my fifth tea house, and it is the best. Tiany was a fabulous server, so sweet and attentive. A manager was floating around to all the tables making sure every table had what they needed. The food was fabulous, their sweet potato chips and chicken salad sandwich were both delicious. I love this place!
We had such an amazing experience at Queen Bee’s Tea Room! The atmosphere was charming, the service was wonderful, and the tea and treats were absolutely delicious. Everyone was so welcoming, and Miss Sonya went above and beyond, even surprising my daughter with the sweetest little tea gift. It truly made our day! Highly recommend this lovely spot for anyone looking for a special afternoon tea experience in Houston. 🫖💛
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Wonderful Experience! Honestly one of my favorite spots in Houston. The vibe was super cozy and charming. The interior was beautiful, and I loved the little bee details around the place. It made it feel really homey, like I belonged there. The food was A+. We got the oven-roasted turkey over flatbread, the grilled cheese over flatbread, and the tomato soup. The grilled cheese was already amazing, but the tomato soup took it to another level — perfect combo. The service was just as great. Our waiter was so kind and upbeat, and the whole place had such positive energy. Definitely coming back — this place is a total gem.🍞☕️🌟
Today my sister and our girls had the most charming tea “experience” offered anywhere in Houston. The atmosphere they have created is welcoming and beautiful. It is both elevated and casual. They have created a truly unique and special experience for anyone in search of an all encompassing afternoon retreat as opposed to just being served the typical and predictable afternoon tea. I love that they have partnered with “Tea in Texas,” serving their unique and delicious blends. Jasmine, our server was so knowledgeable and attentive. We wanted for nothing. The food was not only delicious, but all was created with a unique Texas taste and flair. The owner was precious and made several trips to our table to check on us and engage us in conversation. Can you tell I highly recommend it? I can’t wait to plan my next visit.
I’ve been wanting to take my daughter to a tea room for years (she’s almost 4 now so this was the weekend :) ) I was SO HAPPY with Queen Bee’s Tea Room! The location is so incredibly cute with lovely floral and bee accents in all the smallest details. Tianny, our server, was so sweet and quite knowledgeable about the menu. I actually got the feel that this tea room had been open longer given Tianny’s great service and menu knowledge - only to find out it’s been open for less than 2 months! Overall I really adored this place but I think it’s really important to acknowledge the following. The baby changing station in the restroom , and the bike rack outside. As a mother of a small child and someone who prefers biking often, I’ve been disappointed time and again when resteraunts don’t have changing stations. The inclusivity and thoughtfulness of having the changing station means a lot to me even though I won’t be using it at my daughter’s age. And the bike rack made me smile knowing customers have a designated location for their bikes should they choose to ride here :) Queen Bee’s Tea Room. From the food & (honestly delicious) tea, to the staff and inclusive details, You got it going on!
My mom’s Christmas gift to me was afternoon tea at Queen Bee’s Tea Room and I could have asked for a better gift! Queen Bee’s helped my mom and I have such a joyful afternoon and create a lovely memory. The space is so so cute. We really enjoyed how the tea’s and cocktails are Houston/Texas themed and give such respect to women who have made Houston and Texas great! We also loved the cheddar scone, the pimento cheese, the chicken salad , and the smoked salmon on the tea tower. Last but certainly not least, we loved our server Morgan! She was so kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive when we needed her. I would totally recommended you take anyone you’d like to make feel special to Queen Bee’s.
So this is my wife Jennifer writing the Review: in a word….Amazing!!! I love it here! The restaurant is so warm and cozy and beautiful to be honest. You walk in the door and you are greeted by a wall of beautiful tea pots, and cups. there’s a crystal chandelier and the seating is wonderful with some of the tables having high back chairs. You literally feel like a queen sitting in. Shout out to Morgan. Wonderful lady who was my server. So patient and kind and just so sweet. Thank you, Morgan, I had a great time. The food is exceptional. I had both a full Tea service with the three tiered serving with the little sandwiches and the scones and the desserts. Everything was wonderful. And the drinks, let me tell you about the drinks. They have a cocktail flight that was so much fun. It’s a small serving of 3 different drinks just to taste. My favorite was the queen bee. Delicious. This is a great place to bring your sisters and young girls who want to feel fancy. In the middle of the week for lunch, you don’t need reservations, but I’m told on the weekend particularly Saturdays absolutely make a reservation. Or you will not get a table.
My mom was visiting for a few days, and I surprised her by bringing her here on opening day. She absolutely loves tea rooms and even hosts her own tea parties for her church friends — so this was such a joyful treat for her! We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely owner with the cutest boots I’ve ever seen, and although I didn’t get everyone’s name, the entire staff was fabulous — warm, attentive, and making sure all was running according to plan. We also can’t miss mentioning the beautiful, fashionable hostess who welcomes guests with a radiant smile — she truly sets the tone for the wonderful experience that follows. Nestled in the beautiful city of Houston, within the charming Heights community, Queen Bee’s Tea Room is a located in a historic landmark property that exudes timeless elegance. The outdoor space is a white picket fence dream, featuring a spacious patio with umbrella-covered tables — the perfect spot to sip tea and enjoy the day specially now in fall. For added convenience, valet parking is also offered, making the visit even more effortless and enjoyable. Step inside, and you’ll be in awe of the stunning design — every detail is thoughtfully curated. A floor-to-ceiling display of gorgeous teapots and glass jars filled with tea blends welcomes you at check-in. To the left, there’s a full bar, and nearby stands a mannequin dressed in a regal Crown Royal satin gown. The colorful balloon canopy and throne-like chairs are true showstoppers — transporting you straight into a modern-day Victorian dream. Even the bathrooms are impeccably decorated in black and gold! And on your way out, don’t miss the iconic pink phone booth — it’s the perfect photo op. The menu offers a wonderful selection of crafted cocktails, tiered tea experiences, and à la carte options. Every detail reflects the perfect blend of British charm and Southern hospitality. Queen Bee’s Tea Room is such a delightful addition to the Heights community. I’m so happy we got to experience it and can’t wait to come back again soon! 📍 201 W 15th St, Houston, TX 77008 🕰️ Hours: Tue–Fri: 11am–4pm Sat–Sun: 11am–6pm Mon: Closed
My friends and I had the most amazing time here and we’ll be coming back for sure! I’m gluten free and they catered to my allergy so well! Everything tasted absolutely amazing, and I was impressed by how similar everything on my tea service was to the traditional tea service. The only difference for me would be there weren’t any scones, but to me that wasn’t a problem at all as there was more than enough food. We went for my friend Hannah’s birthday and they gave her a tiara and sung it was sooo sweet. I definitely would recommend, great food, great tea, great atmosphere and great service
Had an amazingggggg experience at Queen Bee today! Customer service was top notch, we had an excellent waitress named Jasmin. The teas were super yummy and the pastries/sandwiches were very tasty. I loved the southern and Texas twist of flavors they added to the menu. They even had a gluten free menu which was a pleasant surprise because my sister has a gluten allergy and we didn’t have to substitute anything on the menu. Everyone was very nice and service was great. I try a lot of tea places in Houston and other cities and I would place this at the top of my list. I really enjoyed my experience today.
Ok we absolutely ADORE Queen Bee Tea Room!!! You can order traditional tea service here or al a carte! I highly recommend the traditional tea service. This is legit such a cute and delish spot, they have indoor and outdoor seating & it’s perfect for a girl’s day, brunch, lunch, or you can even host events here like birthday parties, baby showers, etc. 10/10 you need to try Queen Bee Tea Room!!! It is legit my favorite find of 2025 so far! @thathoustonmom
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a lovely experience at Queen Bee’s Tea House! I enjoyed the eggnog mousse and cinnamon tea—both were absolutely delicious and perfect for the season. My friends ordered the egg sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, and scones, and everything looked and tasted wonderful. From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed. Sonia greeted us with such warmth and kindness and even knew our group by name, which made the experience feel extra special. Our server, Courtney, did a fantastic job taking care of us—attentive, friendly, and thoughtful throughout our visit. A truly charming place with excellent food and even better hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!
My wife just raved about this place
We have an annual mother/daughter tea. So glad that one of the moms found Queen Bee. High tea service and the atmosphere was a delightful. Highly recommend.
A delightful Mother's Day Celebration. Ms. Paula provided remarkable service recovery after a minor hiccup and our waitress was magnificent with communication and service. She had a remarkable time and cannot wait to return, not to mention the food is tasty too. I highly recommend Queen Bee's and also the ambiance was spot on. Every detail I do believe has been considered for Queen Bee's including the creative names. This is the perfect place for a celebration, wedding/baby shower or just girls time out. Thank you so much for a memorable celebration, my mom said this was one of her best Mother's Day which she has not said since her mom/my grandmother passed away.
The food and staff are great. A perfect place to catch up with friends.
This tea room is so fun a the space is beautiful! They take a lot of care with the tea and give you details about their menu, and the food was delicious! I totally enjoyed myself.
I had the most elegant, delightful birthday tea here. The setting was lovely, service and staff were attentive, and the food was delicious and original. I host English teas myself and was quite impressed with their service. The vibe is relaxed and I felt like an absolute queen!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely LOVED Queen Bee Tea Room! Visited on Easter Sunday and it truly exceeded every expectation. The ambiance is stunning and feels so magical, the food was incredible, and the complimentary valet made everything effortless from the start. The service is what really sets this place apart. Stephanie behind the bar was amazing (attentive, knowledgeable, and so personable), and Paula managing the tea room brought such a warm, charismatic energy that made the whole experience feel extra special and elevated. You can tell this team genuinely cares, and it shows in every detail. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had and hands down the best Easter ever. Can’t wait to come back!
Been here twice now and love it. The staff cares and makes the meal an experience. Cute thing to do with the girlies. I saw the cutest group of women dressed up in costumes for tea. A little jealous we didn’t do that. Valet makes parking easier else it’s a bit cramped.
Queen Bee's is one of my favorite lunch spots in the Heights! ! I initially went there for the beautiful atmosphere and the High Tea but the warm and friendly service and great food keeps me coming back! I love trying all the soup and sandwich combos. My fav is the Grate Expectation grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque...it's delicious!
The three of us tried a flight of cocktails and we each ordered the traditional tea, with three different teas. All of the cocktails were excellent. We will return for a drink or toast with friends, whether or not we want a full tea. We were there for a birthday. There were little crowns on the individual-sized tea cakes and they even provided a tiara for the birthday girl. The food tasted good and was presented beautifully. Our waitress, Taylor, matched the colors of our cups and tea cozies to each of us so that there would be no confusion over whose tea was in each pot or cup. She explained what was on each of the plates on the three tiered server, and made sure we had whatever was needed during our meal. The owner stopped by our table also - truly attentive service. The menu has soups, sandwiches, scones, etc., available if you don't want the assortment of small tea sandwiches. I think we will be back soon, perhaps to try the outdoor seating now that the weather is cooler.
Review for Queen Bee’s Tea Room I recently visited the new Queen Bee’s Tea Room, and let me tell you, they’re off to a strong start. The tea alone is worth the trip. I tried the Lonestar Lavender Grey and the Alamo Apricot and both were absolutely fantastic. Rich flavor, beautifully brewed, and served with real intention. The aesthetic? Phenomenal. Every detail is dialed in from the plates to the glassware with the little bees. The whole space feels thoughtful, elevated, and full of charm. The service matched the aesthetic perfectly. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They really made the experience feel special. The sandwiches were tasty and the selection was great. My only critique (and it’s an easy fix) is that a couple of the sandwiches had bread that was dry. Everything else shined so brightly that it didn’t overshadow the visit. They were already getting busy, which makes me happy I want to see them thrive. Houston needs more gems like this. I’ll absolutely be back, and I’m looking forward to trying their evening dinner service soon. Queen Bee’s, you’re onto something special. Keep shining. 🐝💛
Wonderful wonderful place!! Houston really needed this! The quality of food and tea was outstanding. It’s locally owned and operated which I always love supporting. Could be great for bridal showers or baby showers. Would go again and recommend to anyone! Any excuse to dress up, am I right?
We had a such wonderful visit at Queen Bee’s Tea Room! The decor is gorgeous and the food was delicious. It was such a treat to find a tea room that has a gluten-free tea service! We loved chatting with the owner and manager, who took the time to ensure we had a great experience. Can’t wait to plan our next visit!
I had the tea experience a couple weeks ago and just loved it. The lavender grey tea was delicious. I really loved all of the food and the southern influence on the flavors. I really loved the decorations and the furniture selection, it's 100% a place I could relax and enjoy slowing down a bit.
I fell in love with this new charming gem in The Heights! The ambiance was charming, the food was delicious, and the staff was welcoming and friendly. Perfect for brunch, date night, and special occasions. I can't wait to come back for cocktails in the beautiful outdoor patio.
I've been to Queen Bee's Tea Room three times in the last two weeks: once by myself, once with a friend, and today for the third time with my mother. All three times, the food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was excellent. I will continue to come back and bring more people with me. I highly recommend others check this place out!!!
Had the best time at Queen Bee’s Tea room! The food, tea, and atmosphere were great! And the service was even better!! Great place for a girls lunch or celebration. Will definitely be back.
Loved it! I had a great time! I enjoyed the pimento cheese dip, avocado toast, and the tomato soup. I can’t wait to bring my daughter here once she’s older.
What a great experience this place is unique and wholesome the tea service is just they way it should be. I had egg salad croissant sandwich that came with sweet potatoes crispy chips very light and satisfying. Defiantly will go back.
This was such a beautiful place. The tea and food were delicious. Jasmin took great care of us and was very knowledgeable. We loved everything about it and can’t wait to go back!
Very warm and inviting vibe to the tearoom. Staff is well trained and attentive. I had a late lunch there and absolutely will be coming back. Great local place to hang out.
Our thanks to the lovely Ms. Jasmin for making our first luncheon and tea at this wonderful new tea house so much fun.
The perfect spot for afternoon tea—where the staff, food, and ambience come together delightfully.
Wonderful Birthday Celebration. The manager and staff make the experience special.
Adorable interior, excellent service, and wonderful tea
I’ve been here a couple times now, and can say the staff and food/drink are absolutely top notch. Everyone is very kind and attentive and make sure both young and old feel special. This is a place to experience. They have a lovely outdoor area as well as an historic indoors. It’s a perfect place to truly relax in and have a full tea service or just a cocktail with lunch. The teas are top notch, and I can say both the tea service food and regular menu items are marvelous. The grilled cheese is my personal favorite, but you can’t go wrong here. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into this place, you will have a great time!
My inner little girl that use to host tea parties with my dad and sister is happy! I love everything about this place! There’s a good selection of treats for all! Loved the tea selection. I also like that there’s a bar just in case you want a drink alongside of your tea and crumpets. Very downtown abbey! Will be returning but next time dressed in my tea attire. Also I server, Jasmine, was amazing and super attentive. She explained everything so well!
Wonderful! Just loved our girls holiday get together today at Queen Bee’s! Jasmin took the best care of us. Loved that they had a vegetarian option. Everything was delicious - the tea (recommend the Houston Hero), finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and yummy holiday themed desserts. The tea room is thoughtfully decorated with a lot of attention to detail.
This was our first high tea! It was also our 18th wedding anniversary, which the traditional gift is porcelain. Neither one of us wanted a porcelain so we decided to go to high tea instead.. The tea room was adorable. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Our server was Jasmin.
Oh my gosh, this place was Absolutely stunning! As soon as you step inside, you feel like a queen. Your eyes dart everywhere, taking in all the beauty. The food was incredible! I had a Caesar salad that was to die for, and I highly recommend the Alamo Apricot tea. We ordered a three-tiered spread of delicious food, including sandwiches, scones, cornbread, and a scrumptious cranberry scone with butter and jam (my absolute favorite!). For dessert, we indulged in the Dr. Pepper cake, peachy cookies, and lemon parfet. It was a truly wonderful place to relax and create unforgettable memories. The service was also top-notch, making our experience even more special.
Our visit to your tea room was nothing short of magical! The food was exquisite, a delightful array of delicate pastries and perfectly brewed teas that tantalized our taste buds. Each bite was a testament to the quality and care put into your culinary creations. The atmosphere you've cultivated is simply enchanting; a warm and inviting space that feels like a cozy embrace, making it the perfect escape from the everyday hustle. We love how immersed we felt in this space! We were particularly touched by the exceptional service and the genuine warmth of your staff. Every interaction was met with smiles and a willingness to ensure our experience was flawless. A special mention goes to the owner for their precious dedication and for creating such a special haven. It's evident that this is more than just a business; it's a labor of love, and that passion shines through in every detail. Thank you for creating such a beautiful and welcoming space. We are so grateful for the wonderful memories made here and wholeheartedly encourage everyone in the community to discover the treasures of Queen's Bee-Tea Room. For those looking to book a delightful afternoon, don't let the name confuse you, the have an extensive menu, teas and, of course, yummy and popular alcoholic drinks. Expresso Martini was so yummy!
My daughter and I recently visited this charming tea room and had such a lovely experiece. From the moment we arrived, the outdoor decor felt inviting with a vintage feel and southern charm! The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully decorated with a display of china, floral arrangements and soft back ground music creating a true afternoon tea experience. The tea selection was impressive and especially enjoyed the freshness of the savory finger foods and desserts. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicous. Loved the bar area which served a variety of cocktails. The mimosas were amazing! Service was friendly and knowledgeable, with great recommendations. I loved that we didnt feel rushed but felt very welcoming. Its the perfect spot for catching up with my daughter or friends. Ill definitely be returning!!
Very cutesy, came for Bridgerton vibes, wasn't disappointed. This afternoon tea room in the Heights is a hidden gem, will keep bringing the girlies here. Tea was exceptional, loved the Lone Star Lavender Grey, got me buzzing like a bee. Food was great, especially scones, butter, and jam. Sweets could be better, lemon was too tart and sweet, cookie a bit too crumbly. Still loved the whole experience :)
The ambience is beautiful, unique, very comfortable, and roomy. It was very easy to hear one another. It would work well as a great place to share conversations, stories, and news. The tea is excellent. The food is good, plentiful, and variant. At present, I have but one critique concerning the foods. I would have loved a soft bread for my sandwiches and a few chips. Although a bit pricey it is still a wonderful place to meet and share tea.
My girlfriends and I went here yesterday and we had a great experience. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were delightful! Our server was a little soft-spoken and it was hard to hear her. Some of the ladies were first time tea party attendees and didn't understand the process so us seasoned tea partiers had to explain things. But all and all it was a good experience. I wished they would have offered us the opportunity to purchase tea to take home. Best teas: Lavender Grey and Austin Weirdness!!
The ambience here is top notch, but, we waited 35 minutes for our tea, they only bought servings for 2 (instead of 3) and then the server came to say that the kitchen incorrectly said we received our 3 servings. She did come eventually with the extra sandwiches. The server said the green tea was decaf (not usually so) and I believe she was mistaken. Only one toilet was working for the entire restaurant (men and women) and this did not flush without removing the top of the toilet. I was glad they had a children’s version of tea, and liked the way the tea was served with a cozy and timer. The food was pretty good, overall.
Excelente hambiente para relajarse, disfrutar del té y panes.
This place has the possibility to be really good if they fix up the details and improve service. I noticed when I walked in that our hostess was in jeans and sneakers and our waitress had a loud pimple sticker on her face. Fine for a casual shop but it was not true to the elegance marketed from the restaurant that has a dress code for the guests. Our waitress didn’t come back to check on us at all after taking our order and I had to flag her down from across the room to get our bill. It wasn’t a busy day and the staff were mingling in the corner. We were there for well over an hour with no check in, water refill. The food is good which is what earned the three stars, but I would say is overpriced for the $65/ person tea set. I’ve been to other tea rooms that let you try the teas and swap out to different flavors. They limit you to one flavor here and I don’t think they do refills. Not sure though, bc they never came back to the table for us to ask. They’re not tea focused and it’s more to come enjoy the vibes and take pictures. So don’t expect genuine tea service here, or any service actually. Good for instagram pics tho!
Walking in was instantly relaxing. I appreciated the complimentary valet parking. So I try to remain gluten free, but since I had gluten last night I tried the traditional tea service. Our waitress was quite attentive and very sweet. This tea service is on more of the expensive end and a bit slow. I enjoyed the turkey sandwich most and was able to change out the egg salad for an extra turkey sandwich, as I don’t eat eggs. The pimento cheese bite was of the creamy variety rather than the thick texture I expected but enjoyed it nonetheless. Not half of the sandwiches were on bread and the other half were on crostini or a piece of lettuce. The scones I was a little disappointed in. I did not care for the cornbread scone at all. Both scones seemed a little dry or day old not sure which. The desserts were holiday themed. My favorite was to peppermint cookie I just wish they were a little bigger. Over all I think the food all had flavor but just barely not enough or missing something. Also something to note on the gluten-free service the sandwiches comes deconstructed and without the scone portion for the same price.
Atmosphere and Seating Located in the historic Houston Heights, the tea room is beautifully decorated and draws a large crowd of women dressed up for celebrations. We initially reserved bar seating, but it was a small, cluttered area with barely four seats, so I strongly recommend avoiding it. Fortunately, we were offered a patio table where a helpful staff member kindly arranged umbrellas to ensure we were fully shaded. Food and Tea Service Our polite server explained the menu, which offers à la carte options alongside three different tea services. Our selected service featured good tea, enjoyable half-sandwiches, and scones served with butter, jam, and a tiny dollop of clotted cream. While the savory items were good, the three included desserts: two tiny sugar cookies, a lemon pudding, and a Dr Pepper cupcake, were visually appealing but underwhelming in taste. Service Delays The primary issue with our visit was the extremely slow service, as we watched people who arrived after us receive their food first. When we finally asked about our order, our waiter explained that another server had accidentally given our food to a different table. She offered no apology or any attempt to rectify the situation, which was highly disappointing. Pricing and Value At $65 plus tax and a service fee per person, the expectation for attentive service and proper problem resolution is naturally high. Despite the lovely aesthetic and decent sandwiches, the overall experience simply did not meet that standard. Because of the high price point and the frustrating service, I doubt that we will be return customers
Lovely surroundings. I brought a friend who was visiting from out of town. I thought it would be a really special experience, but it was lackluster, particularly given the prices. Service was slow on a not particularly busy afternoon, and I personally didn't care for the food. It seemed to be put together rather slapdash and the quality of the ingredients didn't line up with the prices. I would recommend just getting tea, rather than the full service. For tea snobs, they use tea bags rather than loose leaf tea and I didn't see a teaspoon in sight, which I thought was odd. Hopefully this will all improve over time - amazing Heights location, but the substance does not match the atmosphere yet.
On Saturday, March 28th. my friends ad I chose to honor/ celebrate my sister's soon to be 45th.birthday. immediately at 1:08 pm I was told the stipulations upon our dining experience. You have 90 minutes. I complied because I wanted my sister's experience to be exceptional. I was told that balloons weren't allowed. I only had 2. Upon leaving we decided to capture our birthday queen, but within earshot several of my friends heard Ms. Paula's distasteful words. She was addressing the 8 of us as though we weren't of elegance. She used that she hated what we were doing as though we were doing something that didn't measure her idea of class. We will not be returning although practically begged and pleaded. It was a one and done experience for all of us. The food was very small in portions. The complementary valet does not lure me back. The parking is extremely limited. Thanks but no thanks. I'll have my tea and scones somewhere else.
The place is absolutely charming and has such a lovely atmosphere. However, the gluten-free tea service portions felt a bit limited. It’s worth noting that this was from the Valentine’s menu. The vegetarian tea service was presented on three tiers, while the gluten-free option was served on two tiers, which made it feel noticeably smaller in comparison.
Went for tea with my mom and daughter and my experience was not what I hoped for. First off we were ignored for almost 20 mins after being seated. We both ordered the high tea which comes with a pot of tea and a tiered platter with an assortment of sandwiches, sweets and scones. The food was mediocre with a couple of standouts ex cornbread was really good. I did enjoy my pot of tea but I will mention that our server didn't make sure we had enough cream and our sugar dispenser was empty. When brought to the table we were also never offered a glass of water. I noticed other tables receiving better service as well. The decor was nice but for the price and experience we will not be back. There all other aesthetic places to try this one is a pass.
What should have been a day of friendship and fellowship resulted in a negative experience despite the atmosphere being set for a high tea. Management's disparaging and discriminatory comments augmented by restrictive access to picturesque locations within the restaurant made the overall experience negative. Traveled over 190 miles to recive over priced finger food under hostile surveillance made for an overall NEGATIVE experience. This was a one and done. Would not recommend to others.
I made a reservation two weeks in advance to celebrate my birthday and was really excited, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The place is beautiful, but our table was very small and the service lacked attention to detail. I’m on a strict diet and clearly explained I needed a lettuce wrap instead of bread, but my order still came out wrong. The server also told us there was no milk for coffee, yet another waitress later offered multiple options, which was confusing. We also felt rushed, as we were asked to pay well before our time was up. When reviewing the bill, there were inaccuracies, including notes that didn’t match what we requested. I ended up spending $65 on food I couldn’t fully enjoy, which was especially upsetting since I was celebrating a meaningful birthday. Overall, a disappointing experience despite the nice atmosphere.
The place looks good, very nice to set and relax, but I didn't like that they added 20% on our bill for service, we already paid good tip, the place already charge high for tea and snacks (65$ per person), I don't think we will go back there, for the main problem they have, the waiters are upset or not happy or the owner don't want them to smile or be nice, they are like robots, and because they are not happy, the food looks good, but no taste to it, we even got stomach discomfort after that, I believe if the chef and workers are not happy, the food will be not good for us to have. The owner also was nice to other ladies, but it seems she dose not like men, she talked to us like we are not welcome here.
It was my friend's birthday and we decided to take our daughters out for tea! We bought our tea dresses, hats, etc. from Amazon to engage in the thrill of it all! We drove an hr to Queen Bee's excited to fulfill the experience! Granted, we made it at 3:57pm and they told us they were closing at a hard 5pm due to filming! No problem! I really want to point out that the waitress, JASMIN, made this truly an awesome memorable experience, and HER ALONE!! Because it doesn't matter how decorative a place can look, it's the feeling of being welcomed and seen!! JASMIN, was probably tired but we couldn't tell! Her demeanor, her ora was just that inviting! Even the hostess didn't make us feel that way! It was just a job to the hostess and that's all we got from her! The lady that seemed like the manager of the floor gave a poor representation of how to manage the flow of compassion that exude from her to the visitors! I would've loved to give this place a 5 star but the way the OWNER walked up to me and pointed to my phone and stated, "It went through" so rudely, in other words to rush us out at 4:50pm and walked away. She had no clue that the delay was me unlocking my card, NOT me checking or guessing if I had enough to pay! I paid $320 for this experience and to make someone feel so low with no, "Thank you for coming" Hope you guys enjoyed our experience" "Come back again" only to be told, "We have a film crew coming and everyone needs to be out by 5pm". The place is beautiful and has great potential but where is the warmth? It came from the waitress, JAZMIN!!! Not the owner, not the hostess, not the manager, and not the ambiance!! She is the ONLY reason I'd give this place a 5 star! In the little time we were there, she made us feel like we had 3hrs of fun! She was very professional and informative on the teas and what Queen Bee had to offer! We understood clearly they were closing at 5pm. It didn't seem like a problem to still be able to dine with them (if so, they should've stated that they don't advise to come at this hr or day) so, we went ahead to experience it only needing an hr tops but the issue was the owners demeanor and NO WARMTH from her or the staff, besides JASMIN! So, overall, everything was nice, the ambiance, the food, the decor! Even the $320 was not a problem. I had already calculated the price before i came, because my daughter and i were intrigued to go! The owner DID come over to ask, "how was everything" but we had to basically get her to talk. She spoke out of performance and we spoke from heart, only for her to dispose us like we got your money, now go!!!! Next time, I would advise you closing your business for the day or close earlier than normal, rather than getting someone's hard earned money and saying, gotta go!! But thank you to the waitress, JASMIN, she's the MVP!! 👈
Unfortunately, our experience at the tea room was very disappointing. Our server never introduced herself and repeatedly ignored us when we tried to get her attention (the hostess had to keep telling the waitress to pay attention to us). Although we ordered three tea services, only one tray was brought out and placed at the far end of our table for six. We had to ask where the tea was, and it arrived roughly thirty minutes after the food. No explanation was given about the food, so we didn’t realize that everything had been combined onto a single tray. By the time we learned this, most of the food had already been eaten by those seated near it (logically we expected three trays spaced out among the tables). The overall service felt disorganized and inattentive, making what should have been an enjoyable outing quite frustrating. As a tea enthusiast and a local neighbor, I had been eagerly awaiting the opening of this tea room, but the experience fell far short of expectations. It did not feel worth the cost, and I hope the management can improve both their service training and timing to create a better experience for future guests.
I’ll start by saying I think the place is so cute and so beautifully decorated. The tea was good and the food was good. The waitresses were nice. My two star is a reflection on how we were treated during the process by the lady whom seem to be in charge. I had my baby “sprinkle” here that my friends graciously planned and had 9 people total. There was some lack of communication in the beginning but I let it go, I was bummed they gave us a list of teas and was out 2/3 green teas but didnt tell us until after we had asked everyone. We were asked to be there and tea service would promptly start at 11:15 AM (11 AM reservation). We did not feel welcomed, more a hassle we came a little early to put some things down on the table even though we mentioned multiple times. We also were taking photos in there when it was basically empty, only one table seated and got yelled at many times to sit down because guest were arriving. Ok fine. We preordered our sandwiches and had 3 pregnant people who did not order salmon. Only two came out and when questioned the manager (or owner?) asked us why we got different things. Was asking why we couldn’t eat it pregnant…. Just kind of rude to be fighting with a guest that pre-ordered and specially asked for something different. My friend ended up just being like we will take a normal plate and she said ok good. Again acting as if it’s a hassle to her to her. By the way tea and sandwiches come until closer to 11:35 AM. Ok no problem- the issue is then when it became 12:55 PM we were rushed out of there. Not even a full 2 hours for NINE people, didn’t receive tea service until 35 mins after being seated. The lady in charge was telling me multiple times to leave and sho us out of there while we had people going to the bathroom still, saying our cars were ready out front. Along with carrying some presents out. Our cars were not ready, by the way. My guest did not feel welcomed, instead we felt in the way, a hassle to her. She does not belong in the hospitality service. I paid close to $1000 for this to be uncomfortable 80% of the time.
My family and I (a group of women and children) came in excited for a special tea outing. We were dressed appropriately for the setting and had called ahead, where we were told reservations were full but that we could try to sit outside if we arrived early. When we got there, there were clearly open outdoor tables, yet instead of any effort to accommodate us, we were repeatedly told we “should have made a reservation,” even after explaining that we had already called. What made this experience especially uncomfortable was not just the refusal it was the tone, the lack of care, and how we were spoken to. At one point, we were told to go to IHOP, which felt dismissive and honestly degrading given the type of experience we came for. Comments like “welcome to the Heights” were delivered in a way that felt condescending rather than helpful. As women of color, we left feeling unwelcome, looked down on, and honestly profiled. There was no warmth, no attempt to help, and no basic level of hospitality that you would expect from a place that markets itself as an “experience.” What hurt the most was seeing how this made my mom feel. This was supposed to be a special moment for our family, and it genuinely broke my heart to see her feel dismissed and uncomfortable. No one should be made to feel that way. This was not about a lack of seating it was about how we were treated. After reading other reviews, it’s clear that this is not an isolated experience. There seems to be a consistent pattern of guests feeling unwelcome, dismissed, or poorly treated, and in some cases, even feeling they were treated differently. Thankfully, we were immediately accommodated at Little Hen, where we were treated with kindness, respect, and genuine hospitality the complete opposite of our experience here. It made it very clear what proper customer service should feel like. I’m sharing this so others especially minority families looking for a welcoming place to celebrate are aware of the experience we had. I truly hope management takes this seriously and works on how guests are treated. I’ve included photos for context
We really wanted to love this place. I’ll start off by saying that the food was delicious, what little we had of it. Our biggest issues were the tea service and service from our waitress, Taylor. The waitress was extremely rude. She never introduced herself and would barely explain things when we asked. She said we could share 3 tea service trays between 7 ladies and when it came out she put one tray on one end of the table without saying what was what or explaining anything. Then when the other two don’t come and we’re almost done with the first one, we ask her where the rest are and she said all the food was placed on the one tray. We got 4 scones, 5 desserts and a few sandwiches for 180+$, which seems so overpriced. Picture attached. We left hungry. The actual tea wasn’t brought until the end of our meal when we were finishing the tray. She didn’t explain how to do the tea and when one lady poured the water over the tea bags, she snapped at her that she was doing it wrong while laughing at her. Finally, when we wanted the check, she was at a table next to us cleaning (there were only two tables of people there) and a few of us tried getting her attention. I was standing in front of her saying “excuse me maaam” and she was pointedly looking down. The hostess had to walk over to tell Taylor “hey they’re trying to get your attention” to which Taylor then nodded and mumbled “I know”. Every other staff member of this place was incredible and so welcoming but the service itself was terrible
Edit: 2/14/26: Have to lower this because despite how cute it is and its potential, this business needs to decide what they are: a lunch spot? A place for afternoon tea and events like showers? A wedding venue? My sister has talked to them since January regarding a small bridal tea of 6. You can’t book until 4 weeks out, at which point you obviously want to tell your guests a potential date. She made a booking last night as soon as it became available. Calls this morning to try and lock in a cute table. The person on the phone confirms. Gets a call back a bit later that the reservation is cancelled, they have a wedding that day! Anyone looking to do a bridal tea party here or similar — save yourself the headache. Feels like such a money grab trying to prioritize big money bookings over anything else. We’ll be going to Little Hen instead, where they also give you 2 hours for 5+ guests, rather than a strict 1.5 hours, and are just overall more organized and professional. Unfortunate because it’s such a cute place. But people need to be able to make plans and know they aren’t going to randomly fall through. Original: Visited in early January with my mom and sister and enjoyed it! It’s a really charming space — very feminine, light, and airy, with a bee motif throughout. Note that some of the things I mention as constructive criticism may have already been addressed since our visit! And they’re new, so working through things. 🫖 The menu is cute, with literary-inspired names like “The Taming of the Turkey”. We did the full tea service (2 regular and 1 gluten-free) and there was a generous amount of food — my mom was stuffed and I felt nicely full. I really enjoyed the savory items and tea sandwiches the most. The cornbread scone was a little dense, neither scone was a standout, but not bad either. Some of the desserts leaned a bit on the overly sweet/tart side for our taste. The tea was great. I had the Yellow Rose and appreciated that each of us got our own teapot and could choose our own flavor — not all tea services allow that, so it felt like a nice touch. One small note: the teapot lid gets hot; we used tongs to remove the lid. Our server did a great job explaining the menu, including that you don’t have to do the full tea service — you can also just order sandwiches and soups. The patio is cute, though we overheard that the tea carts don’t go outside. Seems like a missed opportunity! One piece of feedback on the gluten-free option: it came deconstructed, which was messier and felt less “special” than the plated versions. Our GF guest also missed getting a scone (it was replaced with other desserts), so it might be nice if gluten-free guests could have a more similar experience. She would’ve preferred just being asked if she wanted gluten-free bread or lettuce or just have some of sandwiches already assembled on GF bread. They also try to limit to approximately 1.5 hours. Understandable, but I also think that tea-service groups want to linger a bit. Maybe their reservation system should account for that possibility to not overbook to ensure plenty of time before the next party. Overall, this is a great addition to Houston’s tea scene. A perfect spot for a mother-daughter afternoon, bridal tea, or a cozy catch-up with friends. Reservations open about a month out; maybe 6 weeks would be a little better for small groups trying to do things like bridal teas, that might try to lock down a date a little sooner.
I am beyond disgusted with the treatment my family received at this establishment. We were having a lovely time enjoying our tea; my 15-month-old son was happy, excited, and simply enjoying the experience of the different sandwiches. However, the atmosphere was completely ruined when the owner, Christy, approached our table. Instead of a polite request or professional interaction, she told my wife to "shut our son up." A few things to note for future patrons: There is no signage or information stating that children or babies are not allowed. Regardless of the "vibe" a business wants to curate, speaking to a parent in such a derogatory manner is unacceptable. We were paying customers enjoying a meal, not causing a disturbance; our son was simply being a happy toddler. We will not be returning. If you have children, or if you simply value being treated with basic human kindness, I suggest you take your business elsewhere.
On April 26, 2026, I visited the Queen Bee's Tea Room in Houston, Texas. I was celebrating a wonderful occasion with several of my sorority sisters. Although the decor was pleasant and the food was somewhat okay, the treatment that we received was beyond reproachable. While the wait staff was nice; the managers were not. Specifically, Samantha Darr and Kristy were rude, seemingly discriminatory, and simply unwelcoming. They (the managers) were watching us in an uncomfortable way. When we went outside to take pictures, one of the managers followed us outside and said to us that she was there to "watch" us. My expectation was that the experience at the Queen Bee's Tea Room was going to be fabulous. Instead, it was a flop. No one should have this type of experience at a tea room that proclaims to be great. I am so disappointed that we had to endure the type of treatment that we received. I am even more disappointed that we paid for it. Hopefully, the managers will read this review, take this review seriously, and enroll in a management training class to learn how to treat its customers and community.
Had an opportunity to visit this place over the weekend, 4/26/2026. The service we received from the servers was great. The level of professionalism demonstrated by the manager and assistant manager (Kristy & Samantha) was deeply disappointing and fell well below reasonable expectations. My sisters and I were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary and supporting what appeared to be a quaint and charming establishment. The exterior décor and spring florals created a lovely first impression. However, upon entering, we were met with an unwelcoming atmosphere marked by discourteous behavior and a noticeable lack of warmth and hospitality. I would NOT recommend visiting this establishment and I will definitely not return for a visit.
I rarely write reviews like this, but my recent experience at Queen's Bee Tea Service left me both disappointed and deeply concerned. I chose this venue to celebrate my 38th anniversary with my sorority sisters—a meaningful milestone. We arrived excited for a beautiful afternoon, dressed in elegant, fashion-forward attire and looking forward to reconnecting in a welcoming space. To be clear, the servers and frontline staff were excellent—professional, kind, and attentive throughout our visit. However, the experience with management overshadowed everything. The tone and behavior we encountered felt unwelcoming, and most troubling, a member of our group was told that we were “scaring the other guests.” That statement is unacceptable and demands explanation. We were a group of respectful, well-dressed Black women celebrating a special occasion. To be characterized in that way raises serious concerns about bias and how certain guests are perceived and treated. No one should feel singled out or made to feel uncomfortable because of who they are while simply enjoying a space they chose to support. I share this not out of anger, but out of the hope that it leads to reflection, accountability, and change. An experience like this should not happen to anyone. I would welcome a thoughtful response from management addressing this incident and outlining how you plan to ensure all guests are treated with dignity and respect.
I recently visited Queen Bee's Tea Room along with 17 women, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. Throughout our visit, several members of the staff repeatedly followed our group around in a way that felt intrusive and uncomfortable. We were frequently asked if we needed assistance in a negative way—even after politely declining—and at one point, while outside a staff member made the comment, after we asked her did she need anything she replied, “No, I’m just watching you all” which was both inappropriate and unsettling. While taking photos (which is quite common in this Tea Room setting becauseof the decor), we were told we were “in the way of other guests,” despite there being no obstruction or complaints from any of the 8 guests that were in the Tea Room. In another instance, a member of our group attempted to take a photo in a large green standalone chair located away from others, and staff again intervened unnecessarily telling us to stay in our area. We were also told that we were being too loud and disturbing other guests. However, when we checked with our server, she confirmed that our volume was not an issue and that other guests could not hear us. We never saw any of the guests converse with either one of the staff members to make a complaint. The discomfort continued even when we briefly stepped outside for a group activity. A staff member came outside and observed us in a manner that felt more like surveillance than service. In contrast, the valet staff were kind and helpful, even assisting us with photos—highlighting a clear difference in hospitality. As a group of professional, well-traveled women who frequently patronize high-end establishments, we have never experienced this level of scrutiny and lack of respect. The treatment we received felt unwarranted and, frankly, humiliating. We hope management takes this feedback seriously, as no group should feel targeted or made uncomfortable while simply trying to enjoy their experience. Given the circumstances, some form of acknowledgment or compensation would be appropriate. I would not recommend this venue to anyone based on the treatment we received. At $85 per person, we expected a welcoming and professional experience, but unfortunately, that standard was not met!
I visited Queen Bee Tea Room for a major celebration, but left feeling unwelcome and targeted. It made us feel uncomfortable. Despite the beautiful atmosphere and excellent service from our waitstaff, the management (Samantha Darr and Kristy) made our experience miserable. They constantly policed our volume and movement, even though another group who was there was allowed to celebrate freely, without consequence. The servers even told us they didn't find us loud at all, yet management continued to single us out. It is disheartening to spend a significant amount of money only to be "muzzled" and hovered over. As the only people of color in the establishment, the bias felt very pointed. We felt unfairly singled out during what was supposed to be a happy occasion. When privately bringing our concerns regarding their unfortunate behavior to their attention, one of the managers said that they were protecting the other guests from us. (Protecting them from what exactly?) It’s a shame that such a lovely space is marred by such unwelcoming management. The disparate treatment was impossible to ignore. If you are looking for an inclusive environment to celebrate a milestone, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Extremely disappointed in this place!!!!! I booked my baby shower a month ago for 40 guests and I just received an e mail 3 weeks out that they had to cancel my booking!!!!! Extremely unprofessional. I’m beyond upset and now have to scramble to search for a new place! This is the e mail I received! “After reviewing our schedule and staffing, I’m concerned we won’t be able to deliver the level of experience you deserve for your event. And rather than risk that, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel and fully refund your event”. Well you should have reviewed your schedule weeks ago when I booked! Don’t recommend booking a private event here !
So I had a birthday tea party of 12 that got split up into 2 tables at opposite sides of the room when our table ordered their food it came out super late because the kitchen forgot and then we were rushed to pay the tab and if we wanted dessert to order NOW is what we were told the server was exceptional under her circumstances but the"manager" could have handled that differently. Our dessert was placed in Togo containers and handed to us as we were walking out the door only to have to wait outside for a missing portion of the desert order. The ambiance is amazing for pictures as it has lots of great backdrops and is Instagramable however that's all it has going in my opinion. My birthday was not so amazing unlike the pictures but as we all know pictures can lie. Look elsewhere for larger parties would not recommend. The tea is good and served in a delicate romantic way the food is common tea finger food so don't expect a hearty meal. Not worth a second visit.
They advertise no reservations needed. After driving from the woodlands to Houston. We were turned away upon arrival. Do better and make Accommodations.
Unfortunately, this was a really uncomfortable experience. The service was extremely poor — we were ignored for long periods of time, spoken to rudely, and treated very differently compared to other guests. As a person of color, it was hard not to notice the clear difference in how we were treated versus others, which felt discriminatory and unwelcoming. No one should feel that way while dining out. Overall, the lack of professionalism and the environment made this a place I would not recommend or return to.
Way overpriced and food sucks
This place is super cute and lovely to have a tea party or gathering. I appreciated the gluten free options when I was there at my first visit. HOWEVER, I have to leave a 1 star as trying to plan a small family bridal shower was impossible and extremely frustrating and an unprofessional experience. From my first visit, I was a little concerned making a reservation for an important event as I saw and heard customers with reservations having issues being seated. From the start I had mixed communication on making a reservation and then was told I had to wait 30 days out to make one as they prioritize large reservations first that take up the entire venue. I checked in a week prior to the 30 days to check in on the date and was not told that the date was reserved and that I needed to wait. I finally make a reservation as soon as it’s available on their website and then later call to confirm and was even told they would make note of table preference. I immediately then made an invitation ready to send out and a few hours later I get a call from the venue stating that the date is unavailable due to a wedding taking place . I now have had to change all my plans last minute and luckily can still do a sweet tea party for my sister at another local venue in Houston called Little Hen. They were incredibly professional when calling to ask questions and organized in making a reservation. They were very clear with their policies as well and makes it easy to plan moving forward. I wish I would have picked this place from the start. It’s a shame because most events (small or big) take time to plan and especially if there are out of town guests (I even have my mom coming from Argentina for this ) , and a 30 day reservation policy is quite ridiculous in my opinion as then nothing else can be planned ahead of time . Several ladies have kids, including myself a newborn , who in the world doesn’t plan ahead ?! Is this a wedding venue ? Or a restaurant with options for both ? Figure it out please or make it a walk in only policy
If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. They completely ruined my birthday. We had an 11:45 a.m. reservation and arrived on time. The restaurant was half empty, yet we were seated at a table right by the front door with people constantly walking in and out while multiple other tables sat open. We politely asked the hostess if we could move to another available table. She initially said none were available, then seated us anyway, which made absolutely no sense given how empty the place was. About 40 minutes into our meal, the waitress came to our table and quite literally told us we needed to either leave or move to another table because they needed ours for a larger reservation. Those were the options: leave or move. We had a reservation too. How is that acceptable? When we asked to speak to the manager, the hostess (who was also acting as the manager) came over. She was not apologetic at all, rather rude! She made it seem like she had done us a favor by even “allowing” us to sit at that table in the first place. We were again told we could either immediately clear the table or move to the patio which wasn’t even open or properly set up. It was very clear they were not okay with us continuing to sit there. At that point, we chose to leave. We boxed up our food and walked out on my birthday. And mind you, this is not cheap food. I completely understand that managing reservations in a small space can be challenging. But all you had to do was be honest upfront. If you had told us when seating us, “You can sit here, but we’ll need the table back in 45 minutes,” we could have made an informed decision. Instead, we were blindsided mid-meal and treated like an inconvenience. The food was average at best, the service was terrible, and the “birthday surprise” was a candy bracelet. Do you seriously give that to an adult? Shame on you for handling this so poorly. We will never be returning. This is by far the worse experience I’ve had and the first on my birthday.
