Hi SingTrece family. I'm so excited to share my review of Capital Corners Chinese food in Ithaca, New York. I had the General Tso's chicken, and it was amazing! The chicken was so crispy and juicy, and the sauce was perfectly sweet and savory. I also love the fried chicken here. Be careful with the fried chicken. My legs swell up twice eating it. Not sure if they just put to much salt or something in it that I might be allergic to 🥺But I have to say the chicken was good going down because it is perfectly cooked and so crispy, it'll make your mouth water. The service at Capital Corners is also good the staff is friendly and attentive, and they always make sure you have everything you need. I would definitely recommend Capital Corners to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food in Ithaca. If you're ever in Ithaca, be sure to check out Capital Corners. You won't be disappointed!"

I've never been to Capital Corner, have gotten delivery many times over many years. Haven't tried most things available, we stick to regulars. We love the chicken lo mein, general tso's chicken and sesame chicken.

Super affordable prices, good flavorful food, nice location. I got a Sesame Chicken Dinner with egg roll, pork fried rice, and a soup for just $11. Chicken was great, not one of those cheap kinds but thick, meaty, and flavorful. Definitely would recommend if you want quick Chinese food.

Great food and they were only late due to a high volume of orders but it was totally worth the extra time waiting. The food was steaming hot, the order was correct, the food tastes wonderful, and the portion sizes are more than generous for the price. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves really tasty chinese takeout.

I am so proud and so shocked that this place was able to create something so amazing at such a great price. I definitely recommend coming here. I forgot to snap any pics before chowing down lol but I will say all the portion sizes were good and the food was delicious. I ordered pork dumplings, and the noodle was cooked to perfection. It had a very nice texture, and the meat inside was juicy and flavorful. The chicken and broccoli were very good, and so was the chicken lomein. 😼 The crab Rangoons had a really nice flavor, but the filling was strangely thick, not bad, just not what I'm used to. I'd recommend them for sure.

Ordered food through door dash delivery. It seemed as if the Chinese food place itself performed the delivery. The Door Dash app was never updated on when my order was being delivered. However, when the man who delivered my order arrived he called me to come get my order. I told him he could leave it on the porch, but he insisted he would wait for me to come down. One good thing about this restaurant is that they have items that are not so typical on purely a Chinese-American restaurant. Steamed pork buns remind me of those I used to have to go to Chinatown for. Also congee dishes, and ingredients more off the beaten path like eel also add to the variety. The service is a bit slow, but the wait is usually worth it.

If you are in the mood for delicious food, Asian style while visiting beautiful/multi-faceted Ithaca, N.Y., then try Capital Corner!! Plenty to choose from, pleasant staff, reasonably priced!! Very much a treat when experiencing quaint downtown Ithaca!

Don't be fooled by the quiet atmosphere; the food is excellent and service good. A wide range of familiar and less-familiar dishes, all high-quality. Many vegetarian options, though I'm partial to the salt-baked squid.

What can one say of a Capital when the name speaks for itself? Capital Corner was Capital in their curb-side, order, pickup service. I myself, enjoyed the shrimp fried rice with extra shrimp and I did not mind the extra $2 charge as it was exactly the way I love and enjoy eating my rice. I do wish however that chopsticks were automatically included because I did not remember to ask for them until I had driven away. Too late, I'm not going back. So if you happen to drive by, walk by or think of a good reason you crave Asian cuisine, try the Capital of Capital Asian takeouts at Capital Corner on the corner of State and Geneva St, in Good Ole Ithaca, New York. Hmm good.

But the food was actually really good and very economical. The dinner combo platter gets you fried rice, an entree, soup, and an eggroll. Portions were really big; both my partner and I had to get boxes. We ordered the mooshu pork (w/ hot & sour soup, pork eggroll, pork fried rice) and mapo tofu (w/ egg drop soup, pork eggroll, pork fried rice). This place stands up to Apollo in terms of quality and price. We also ordered the shrimp spring roll appetizer, expecting a summer roll, but it was just another deep fried egg roll. Also, the chili sauce they offer on the table is quite hot, be warned. Will definitely be coming back sometime soon!

One of my favorite restaurants in the Ithaca area. Whether it is by delivery or in person, I have thoroughly enjoyed the food here over the years. The restaurant is well furnished and gives off a relaxing atmosphere.

Though the food is good as Chinese food goes the delivery is left to be desired. I own my own business, and can not leave the store hence using Grubhub, and having it delivered. So when the delivery guy calls and asks if I can go outside to pickup the delivery is kinda defeating the point. So when he called, and asked if I could go outside I tried to let him know that I was the only one in the store. I had even given instructions before I made the order where the store was, and I repeated thoes instructions. So like I said the food is good, but if you're the only one and can't go get your food then maybe look at one of the other restaurants where the Grubhub delivery person brings you your order. .

This is usually my go-to Chinese junk food place. I like they are open until 11 when most other Chinese places close earlier. The food is good and tasty junk good for a late night cheat meal and its cheap! (the cooler drinks are high priced though), The wonton soup has my type of wontons (with thin dough) as do the egg rolls and spring rolls. I always get carry out. I gave them 3 stars all around because I like it for a quick, cheap greasy option (Chinese fast food) with good taste and I can go after 9pm... But if you like friendly customer service don't come here with your hopes up, for customer service category they would get a 1 star.

Every thing tasted like fish and I didn't order fish. The broccoli was still cold like it was still thawing. My kids wouldn't even eat the rice which they love because it tasted like fish. Never ordering from there again. I do not recommend.

My boyfriend and I ordered food from here through GrubHub. The delivery was supposed to arrive around 7:20pm. I didn't receive the food till 7:53pm. They also forgot half our order. To top it off there was a hair, a freaking HAIR, in the bottom of my soup. Safe to say they lost their business from us.

Three of my shrimp in my lo mein were not cleaned, and those were the ones I noticed towards the END of my meal. I called about it, and whomever I spoke to told me that the shrimp are hard to clean and that they clean 99% of their shrimp. She did not apologize once, offer a refund, nor offer to replace my meal. Unacceptable. I will never eat here again.

Absolutely awful food!! I got food poisoning from this place😡not to mention they treat there employees like trash. The chicken tasted awful and very dry and gross🤢 they don’t support vegan culture ideologies which is so messed up! I’m shocked there still even running. 2 months ago they had a health code violation and we’re given a warning A WARNING the place should have new owners. I hope whoever reads this takes my advice And doesn’t eat here 😡😡

I ordered food from grubhub. The food came 1 and a half hours after I completed my order. I called the restaurant to see where it was, they said it was on the way. The driver called me because he was lost. I'm staying at a hotel, told him I don't know because I'm from out of town. He stumbled in the hotel, seemed drunk. I finally sat down to eat just to realize that I was given what seemed like scraps. There was literally NO meat in the sweet and sour pork. Just like small bits of fried dough. The rice that came with it looks like someone ate out of the container, and the steamed dumplings were just simply terrible and cold. Buyers beware.

Worst Chinese place I've ever ordered from. They forgot to cook the sweet and sour chicken so it was still frozen and they didn't put any chicken in the chicken and cashews. When I called to ask for a refund the lady was very rude and hung up the phone. Will never go there again.

Ordered a large order with debit card waited 2 1/2 hrs and never got the food they took it to a different address and called several times till finally being told they delivered to the wrong address. And lady that answered phone was rude and wouldn’t even give a discount for there error . Lucky got my money back. Never again will I order from them with a credit card. And I used to love this place ordered at least 1 a month from them sometimes more.

the food here is alright (at least in comparison to the limited junky chinese food options in ithaca), but the service is genuinely terrible in every way. one lady working there is locally infamous for how insanely rude she is. she’s literally yelled at my over the phone just out of frustration while trying to get my card number. the delivery sucks, they get orders wrong all the time. it seems all they have going for them is convenience and the fact that ithaca is a chinese food wasteland. i need someone to open up a halfway decent replacement here so i can be free of this hell hole.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have ordered from here for the last 4 years and tonight while my boyfriend was eating his general tso chicken there was a STAPLE in the rice. We are just thankful he found it before ingesting it.

Customer service on the phone is always rushed, you have to ask for things that should be obvious.. what's my total ? Hopefully you can get that out before they hang up. I ordered food to be delivered to my job, the driver was soooo pissed when I answered. I gave the lady on the phone specific directions because I know it can be confusing. So expected the call to help with where my location was. When I finally answered he said exactly, "where are you at ? I've been waiting here forever" WHO TF SAYS THAT ? Then after I was genuinely trying to figure out his location he said, "I see you" and hung up. Keep in mind I'm at work, literally in blood and I had to walk outside. When he finally parked he didn't come out of the car. I had to walk over to his car to get my own food. This must be an Ithaca thing, cause I've never heard of someone walking to the car to get their food. Fast forward, my food sucked. Half a star if I could.

Until recently they had a rude lady answer the phone who was very aggressive when placing orders. Today, I ordered food, two hours passed and no food arrived. I had called after an hour and 30 minutes, then 2 hours, and I was told the driver was outside at the end of the 2 hrs. I stood outside for 10 minutes in the freezing Ithaca weather for my food which I had placed for multiple people. After this, I called the restaurant back and there was no response. My also friends called, and between us we probably called 10x only to discover the restaurant was closed. Will never eat here again until they get it together. I'm sure there's many other restaurants in Ithaca with the same quality of food-- only difference? They care about their customer.

A woman who ordered take out got her entire order and both of the tables that arrived before me got their orders. A large group of college kids came in and the one employee serving customers began taking their orders with no sign of me ever getting my food, so I left. I left hungry and angry. Not only did I get nothing but a single bowl of miso soup in an hour, I got no apology for the late food and no explanation from the kitchen as to why my food was taking so long to not cook. I will never set foot in this restaurant again. I left a sign in the window that said "slow service" as a warning to anyone else who came by that night. I wish there had been a way to magically prevent anyone from taking the sign down, so that the memory of their failure will stay with them as long as it will stay with me.

Ordered delivery from here for a group of students, not only was the service and attitude of the delivery person atrocious, but they forgot our beverages and two of the food items. Additionally, two of the orders that were ordered specifically without meat had meat in them, so much so that it rendered the dishes inedible for those who needed meatless options. Will never order from here again.
