Recensioni di Simeon's American Bistro Ithaca
The restaurant is small and intimate with an almost cozy character, but the menu does change from time to time as fresh seasonal items become available. There is a question about whether the price and quality offer a good value for the money, but because the menu is unique to Ithaca, they are able to get away with it.
We had a very nice dinner at Simeon's in Ithaca. Walked in on Sunday evening, waited about 10 min and got a table outside. Service was impeccable and attentive. Food was great also. We had the fondue kettle chips and chilled half a lobster to start, and half a baked lobster and sea bass for mains - all were great. Desserts were great and perfectly sized. Prices were reasonable as well.
10/10 wish I could remember the male servers name who super funny. Great food, I got the Brussel sprouts and steak, sooo good, bread to start was amazing too
We came here for dinner to celebrate our 8th anniversary, and it was perfect. Great atmosphere, and they had accommodated all of our needs. The food was incredible. We made reservations and were sitting at our table within just a few minutes when we arrived. Absolutely no complaints.
I absolutely adore this place! The staff is wonderful, and today we were especially grateful to be served by Rachel. (our second time visits.)The food, from fresh lobster, shrimp, to oysters, never disappoints. We were particularly taken with today's special, the seafood pasta. I hope they think about making it a permanent menu item; I'd eagerly order it again!
We enjoyed our dinner at Simeon's. My wife had the Sea Bass with coconut curry over jasmine rice and it was exceptional. I had the chicken parmesan and it was just ok. I found that the chicken breast was too thin resulting in it being not as juicy as I prefer. Our server Rachel was very nice and attentive. We really enjoyed the desserts which were a variety of cheesecake shots that you could choose from. Our favorite was the pumpkin cheesecake.
My birthday dinner at Simeon's last night was superb. We sat upstairs by the window watching the world go by downtown. The food was excellent and our waitress Anna seemed to read our minds knowing when to be there to answer any questions or concerns (which we had none). We will definitely return.
Exceptional in every way... atmosphere, service, and especially the food, including presentation. Rivals high end restaurants, even those in Europe. Food obviously chef prepared with the freshest of top quality ingredients. The only drawback...the "Commons" in downtown Ithaca where this is located (thankfully, on the best corner, if it can be said one exists) has deteriorated severely in every way. I applaud the remaining businesses that tenaciously hang on and certainly deserve support. Shame on the city for not stepping up...the area gets worse every time I go there. This should not be in a town where one of the most prestigious universities on the planet is located. We parked in the large ramp, about two/three blocks away, which is very reasonably priced, roomy, and has electric vehicle charging stations; however, the walk through the "Commons" was depressing except for a scant handful of delightful shops and this truly fantastic restaurant. I know downtowns have a hard time, but there are two excellent universities/colleges with not only students, but additionally, professors and other staff as potential patrons - there should be constant shuttle service/park and ride to a thriving "Commons"!
My husband and I started with the NE Clam Chowder, the Wedge Salad and the Mussels, all delicious flavor. For our main courses we had the lobster Mac and cheese and the pasta bolognese, they were both good sized portions and perfect consistency, overall excellent! Compliments to the chef!
My husband and I were here tonight for our date night. We were delighted! The watermelon feta salad was bright and tasty. My husband had mussels which he was craving; he loved them! I had the sea bass special; absolutely delicious! I had the pinot grigio; wonderful! Taylor was very attentive and professional. Thank you! We will return! 😁😁
We were visiting our son in Ithaca and we chose to make reservations at Simeon’s for dinner on Saturday night. They were very busy so we were very happy to be seated upstairs. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice. The service from Jamie was fantastic!!! He was friendly and so helpful with the menu. He never wrote anything down and we received everything exactly as ordered. He spaced out the appetizers and entrees so we never felt rushed. We had a great evening dining at Simeon’s. Thanks Jamie!!
Absolutely loved our experience at Simeon’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and elegant. Perfect spot for a nice dinner in Ithaca. Highly recommend the chicken Parmesan and cocktails!
5 stars all the way We had an incredible dining experience at Simeon’s last night. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The chicken parm was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also loved the lobster mac and cheese and oysters, both fresh and beautifully prepared. The arancini balls were a great start to the meal. Richi, really goes above and beyond—he’s supported our place and it was a pleasure to enjoy his hospitality in return. Highly recommend Simeon’s for anyone looking for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a place that truly cares about what they serve. We will definitely be back soon
lots of drink options for brunch other than mimosas! my only (very minor) complaint is that there is only one sweeter breakfast dish, the French toast. personally I love a sweeter brunch but I ended up with a very delicious burger so I didn't mind. definitely will be coming back :)
Simeon’s has nice indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks are small but strong. The food has an elevated quality. Delicious.
My husband and I had the most wonderful experience! When we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess who gave us a warm smile that made us feel as though she was glad that we came. We were instantly charmed by the decor and the overall vibe of the upstairs dining area. Our server, AJ met our every need. She had helpful suggestions that enhanced our experience. She made us feel like we were old friends. We both ordered chicken parmesan with home made linguine that was the perfect al dente!!! We can't wait to dine again!
We stopped in for dinner after traveling from Georgia to attend a family wedding. Simeon’s American Bistro was recommended by the attendant at the hotel we stayed in and we were not disappointed. The hostess was very friendly and our waitress was a delight and very knowledgeable about the choices for dinner. We both had the rib eye dinner and everything was perfection. My husband had the lemon berry cheesecake and I had the berry key lime pie cheesecake for dessert. If I could give ten stars, I would. Everything was excellent.
Went in on a Sunday evening, there were no tables available but my partner and I were able to get a seat at the bar. She had a glass of Chardonnay and I had a lovely glass of Chablis. Danielle was our bartender and she was great. We got 2 oyster platters with each of the 3 varieties, all of which were delicious. And because we were seated at the bar, we were able to have a conversation and share some jokes with the hostess, Nicole, whose station was nearby. Despite dealing with many walk in customers looking for tables that weren’t available, she was bright and friendly and was so pleasant to talk to. We’d definitely come back and recommend Simeon’s!
Beautiful venue. Outstanding service with quick turn around. Our waitress India was impeccable. The new York strip was one of the best prepared steaks I've had in a long time. Added on the half lobster tail, which left a little to be desired but all in all can't recommend this place enough. Damn near perfect!
Excellent spot - great food; relaxed, attentive service; and good ambience.
We stopped in with no reservation and we were squeezed in last minute. Our waitress Danielle was wonderful. Quick, professional and always brought more food!! Dinner was fantastic and refreshments from local brewers was highlighted. Atmosphere is fun and relaxed with an eclectic mix of patrons making this a must visit destination while in Ithaca!! Thanks for everything!!
My family and I dined here for dinner, no wait during the week. We had friendly service throughout and the food was great. I am thinking of trying to recreate their steak sauce at home. Lovely place, next time I think I'll have to try their oysters
Just went to this place. All the places in the commons were so busy but decided to try here and see if our luck was meant for this restaurant. The hostess was genuinely caring and trying to accommodate the five of us which she did. They seated us in a nice quaint area of the restaurant. They had to get an extra chair which they did. The waitress was excellent, sincere and thorough. The food was excellent. We ordered the steak and the salmon for our main course. Kettle chips and the dip for our appetizers. The desserts were to die for. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Definately will visit again soon.
Simeon’s American Bistro is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Ithaca. With the COVID-era, I found that the restaurant took appropriate action with indoor seating which was very comfy and enjoyable. I ordered the fresh oysters and was not disappointed. The oysters were beautiful and glistened with ocean juices. I found that the main course, lobster Mac and cheese, was the best thing to order. The pasta was perfectly cooked and included large pieces of lobster, perfect for the price. I will definitely come back here in the future.
We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party here and it was fantastic. We had a sit down dinner upstairs and then rented our the lower level for the party later. The food was great and the staff was so attentive. We all had a great time and the location was perfect for guests staying on the commons. Highly recommend!
Amazing food and wine selection. The spare rib and red wine Wednesday special is amazing. Great place to have fun with a fresh round of oysters. Service was very attentive. Great addition to the Commons. Perfect for a date night or small more businessy get together. Also good to take clients.
What a nice place. Friendly staff to go along with their amazing food and drinks made it a great experience. We had their chicken parm and roasted salmon. They were both delicious and filling. We liked it so much we went back our second night in town. Highly recommend if your in Ithica!
Weve been here many times and the food has gotten increasingly better each time we come. We had items from the oyster bar, the rabbit pasta, the salmon and cornish hen. The salmon had amazing crispy skin that you don't always find even at fine dinning restaurants. There was quite a wait for our entrees but the manager gave us a free dessert for each of us as a means to apologizes. 8-12-2018
Five stars isn’t enough for the team at Simeon’s! We’ve loved this restaurant ever since our daughter started at Ithaca College—it’s been our go-to spot for special meals, and celebrations. But this time, they truly outdid themselves. I couldn’t join my husband and daughter on their visit (we live four hours away), and I was heartbroken to miss out on my favorite dish. My husband asked them how we could make this work so the meal would travel well and he could hear them trying to figure it out in the kitchen. They decided to pack it up as a deconstructed chicken parmesan, with everything in separate containers (over ice) so I could bake it fresh at home. They even included the uncooked handmade pasta, which cooked up beautifully. The care they put into the packaging, the attention to detail, and the kindness they showed my family meant the world to me. It felt like a little piece of Ithaca made its way home to me. From the bottom of my heart—thank you, Simeon’s, for going the extra mile!!
Nice addition to Cornell food options. Loved Lizzy, our server. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Food was great. Too hungry to add pics! Ate outside and was too easy to hear neighboring diners. Still a great option!
I have always loved this location. It was such a great location and beautiful building. a wonderful place to sit at a sidewalk table on a summer day. The type of place that inspired the artist in me so much that I painted it almost 20 years ago. I'm posting a picture of the painting that resulted.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. My mom is usually VERY picky with her food but she loved every dish that was served. Everything was freshly made with effort and was well prepared with extraordinary taste. The staff were friendly too. Definitely recommend this place, will be coming back!!
Fantastic for dinner and brunch! I meant to take more photos but the food looked and smelled so good that I ate before I could take a photo! But really, Simeon's is at the top of the list of best places to eat in Ithaca. For diner, you are going to have the best oysters on the half shell. This will be accompanied with a great main and glass of red. For brunch, your tiredness will be met with a top level espresso and mimosa to both wake and relax you. The cinnamon roll (it's remains pictures above ^) will make you close your eyes as you go for a little of the extra icing. Then you will have a top level meal of a omelet or lobster roll. If you have one meal to eat in Ithaca, Simeon's is definitely on the short list!
Beautiful look, the color and decor gives a rich upscale look, the high ceilings, the open upstairs dining area... I sat at the bar, very good service, the staff never stood still, constantly doing something, it just added to the fun for the night. The food was on point, I licked the plate clean. it was that good. Definitely go back.
Like others have mentioned, everything was extraordinary from the moment we stepped in. Simeon’s American Bistro is truly a gem in the heart of Ithaca, from their service and restaurant environment, to their food and drink. I would recommend booking a reservation in advance, because the tables do fill up quite fast. Additionally, the second floor is a really good option!
We just had the best New Year’s brunch! The eggs Benedict and French toast were amazing. The coffee was also excellent. I found the prices very reasonable, (meals were under $20) and we had very good service as well. I highly recommend their brunch, I think it’s the best in town.
I highly recommend Simeon’s for a more refined upscale restaurant experience in downtown Ithaca. What I like most about Simeon’s is that the menu boosts with local ingredients—my grilled chicken with roasted root vegetables was tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The house-made focaccia is lovely. Fairly impressive wine list also adds an additional layer upscale. It’s a five star all the way around for me.
Among the best dining experiences in Ithaca, Simeons is a classic fine dining experience that executes its dishes to perfection consistently. Their appetizer game is strong, with fresh and delicious choice. Their entrees also always blow me away, and if they have the ribeye, it is truly spectacular here. The prime rib is also amazing; and the sides for any entree I’ve ever had have lived up the entree quality. Even if you do not want any, make sure you ask to see the desserts! They have an awesome presentation and are some of the best single serve desserts I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The key lime pie one is my personal favorite and a must try if you are here. This place is expensive, but worth it, and if I were in Ithaca, i would come here and then walk off my meals in the commons, because it is also in a beautiful area.
I have been to Simeon’s multiple times, both for dinner and brunch. Our must order is Lobster Mac & Cheese and Bistro Plateau - the black tiger shrimps were amazing! Steaks and Roasted Salmon were great, too. Rigatoni & Sausage is fine. Definitely ask about their daily specials - I once had a really good sea bass dish, an awesome pear walnut salad, and a seasonal apple French toast - all no regrets.
The food was so good and the atmosphere was comfortable. We had a wonderful server too! Really loved that this is a sit down place, but still cozy enough to be casual. The food overall was really good, we had a little bit of everything in our group. I had one of the burgers and fries and it was made perfectly for me. The fries were so good too, crispy but soft inside. My dessert was the inside out cannoli and it was amazing. Definitely recommend!!!
Yet another win for Ithaca foodies. My husband and I were visiting from out of town and after some thoughtful research we made reservations for here on a Saturday night. We arrived about 15min early and obviously our table wasn't ready but they sat us anyways within about 10 minutes. It was awkward waiting to be seated as they don't have a waiting area so we felt very much in the way. We were seated in the back room at a high top. I'm happy we were put back there because the main front room was extremely loud. The food was outstanding. I got the warm kettle chips fondue. It was very tasty however I assumed it would be served like typical fondue, it was not. It was a bowl of chips with layers of cheese sauce. Don't get me wrong it was amazing I just wish I could have dunked the chips instead of dealing with messy sticky fingers. My husband got the chowder, which was so, so good. We each got a different steak special, I don't recall exactly what they were but they were both outstanding and the sides were perfection
A few of us stopped in for lunch this past Friday. Our experience was nothing short of phenomenal from start to finish. The service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. As for the food, everything was absolutely fabulous. The fresh oysters we fantastic, the Ahi Tuna burger was 10/10 and the homemade desserts were the perfect small-bite amount as an after dinner treat. I cannot wait for my next visit. Highly recommended!
Really good food being served up at Simeon’s. Although most dishes met my expectations for a place like this, some pleasantly surprised me. The Braised short Rib was by far the best dish we had. 9/10 Rib that just came apart and the flavour was great. It dried out quite quickly and was in need of the sauce by the end but it was excellent. They should shred some of it up and put it in a burger because that would be top. Second best dish and notable mention was their famous clam chowder. Definitely worth the claim to fame they put next to it on the menu. 9/10. It was really smooth and creamy but also had really fresh pieces of fish. The rest of the meal was very standard: - Oysters 8/10 - Prawns 7.5/10 - Half Lobster 8/10 - Spicy Clam Pot 7/10 - Burger 8/10
We made sure to make a reservation in advance before our trip to Ithaca. From the moment we've got in everything was superb. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and amazing Bloody Mary cocktails made a great first impression. Our brunch experience started with amazing fresh oysters, cocktail shrimp and marinated olives followed by extraordinary mains: Eggs Benedict, Croque Madam and a Brunch Burger. They were all bursting in flavors. This is an extraordinary place!
Amazing restaurant. During weekend nights it can be very busy, and I would recommend setting up a reservation early in advance, otherwise it can be a 30-45 minute wait. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Anything you try on the menu is guaranteed to be delicious. I had the oysters and salmon, and loved them. Desserts come in small sizes, which is welcome after such a filling meal, and are packed with flavor. Prices are a bit more than average, but it's absolutely worth it.
I came here with expectations that this was the best place (or up there at least) in Ithaca for a Sunday brunch. The service was excellent - our servers were phenomenal and attentive to detail. My food - I got a Western omelet, didn't exactly live up to my expectations, however. The sausage gravy was very good but the omelet as a whole was just alright.
We were a group of 8. The service was great. The food was delicious. My only reason for leaving a 4 star review was the noise level in the Oyster room was way too loud for normal conversation. Someone needs to hire an acoustical engineer to add some type of sound dampening to the room. Also the noise from the kitchen comes into the room as well. I really don't need to know that someone's order is ready. That said, we will be back.
This is a famous place in Ithaca, however, some of their dishes might not live up to expectation. But still I think it's definitely worth trying, and it's probably the best place for brunch in Ithaca. Here are some dishes that I liked for brunch: espresso martini, French toast, Croque Madame, and some of their omelettes. I think their steak is also pretty good, especially the New York strip, I think it's better than their fillet minion. They are also famous for their sea food.
Overall a very popular and crowded dinner spot, for good reason. We arrived on time for our reservation and the people at our table still would not leave for another half hour without pressure from the server. Other than that hiccup, the rest of the evening went well. We even got compensation (free half dozen oysters and dessert)! The menu is not extensive, but what is there is good. The steak is well cooked to your liking, mashed potatos are creamy, and the house frites are well seasoned and fried. Be sure to ask for specials, since they don't appear on the menus. I ordered the Guinness braised short rib, which was tender and did not need a knife. The carrots that came with it were roasted but not cooked til mushy, so they had texture still. The sauce that came with the dish was very salty, and was almost like a good gravy when mixed with the bed of mashed potatos. The oysters were like if you literally took a gulp of seawater, which is how I think it's supposed to taste. Adding some lemon helps a lot. For dessert, we had eggnog cannoli custard and apple pie crumble, all of which was good and not too heavy after we finished our mains. The sizes for entrees are generous and worth the prices. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. They helped us take some photos and were apologetic about the extended wait. Decoration of the place is something like an old-timey bar, almost. The lighting isn't super bright or dim, and there are padded booths. Tables are a little on the smaller side, so large parties should definitely reserve in advance. They get very crowded for dinner. It was my first time eating in a restaurant in Ithaca and it was a very nice meal.
Nice interior, well-decorated with excellent service staff, and a good variety of dishes to choose from. The food was a bit dry and cold in my opinion, not as flavorful as I would have expected. But overall, a nice dining experience. :) Would visit it again.
The food is absolutely delicious. My partner ordered the steak and couldn’t stop eating, it was that outstanding. The only negative is the chairs are a torture device that left my legs numb for a half hour after. Shorter people might not have issues, but I was very uncomfortable. The food made it worth it though! Crème brûlée was excellent.
I had the opportunity to dine here a few months ago and overall I was pretty impressed with my experience. I was here for brunch and the drinks and food were really good. I had the French toast and it was delicious. However, I would like to see the menu have more sweet brunch options in the future.
Our revisit to Ithaca was a bust, limited at best eclipse viewing. However, the evening before, Simeon’s was enjoyable. We began with a bracing Boulevardier and nicely chilled Giesen Sauvignon Blanc. My Prince Edward Shipwreck oysters were properly shucked and “slightly briny”. Unfortunately, our lobster entry was slightly over. Their Nueske Bacon and Ahi tuna burger were substantial, cooked as requested and delicious. Reservations are recommended. Monday evening Simeon’s was full, turned many tables and had attentive service.
Great atmosphere, clean, and well spaced seating, plus outdoor seating in nice weather makes Simeons a great option for a nice meal. Lots of lobster in the lobster Mac-n-Cheese, which was delicious but so rich I couldn’t finish it. The Chicken & Artichokes was especially tasty, and the broccolini was fantastic. While the food and atmosphere were great, I’m not giving this restaurant five stars because the service was mediocre at best. After the enthusiastic, great service we experienced at two other restaurants in Ithaca Commons, the service here seemed lackluster and everyone appeared rather apathetic. Apart from that, the food and atmosphere are well recommended.
Cozy restaurant with friendly servers. Good beer and wine selections. We went with others recommendation and went for Chicken parmesan, lobster mac & cheese and Oysters. We also order the mussels. The oysters were fresh and the chicken was great. I didn’t think the lobster mac & cheese was good and the mussels were tiny. Overall food is average but the restaurant is nice and the servers were also nice.
Felt like my strip steak wasn't worth $52-not quite medium rare and the use of a grill lent a burnt taste to the steak. The quality of the meat was still excellent and tender, with the specials(a tomato soup with roasted red peppers and focaccia bread) being excellent. Mostly this means I should only have steak when I make it myself, since my standards are too exacting to what I like. Other people might rate this 5 stars. The rigatoni and sausage the other person in my group had was also excellent.
We went here for dinner. It was pretty good. I had a burger and I have had better for less. The wife had the Lobster Mac & Cheese, which she really enjoyed. The prices are a little on the high side. The parking is not easy, although we got lucky and found an open metered space and it was cheap because it was close to 6 p.m. and they stop charging at 6. The drive in is not great either, as there is lots of construction. I am not a fan of Ithaca. We went to and through this town a few times and I was not impressed during any of my visits. If you're in the area to see the beautiful waterfalls, there are many other options without going into this city of commotion. Our server was nice. Overall, not a bad place to grab a bite to eat...
Honestly I had better lobster dishes. I was very disappointed by their lobster Mac and cheese, it's dry and the lobster was chewy. The only reason I'm rating them 4 is because of the shrimp Campanella pasta which was creamy and tasted decent. Highly recommend strawberry lemonade. Also I'm not sure if it's only me but we found the waitresses a little haughty, won't say they're non-hospitable but they're a bit snooty. I traveled from city for a short trip and had high expectation from the place as we're restaurant hopping and looking for the best food to try in Ithaca but I was severely upset. The desserts were also very average. We ordered the chocolate cheesecake and key lime tart. This place felt a little overpriced
I visited Simeon's on Saturday on a trip to Ithaca to visit my sister. She and her friends had absolutely nothing but amazing things to say about the food and the atmosphere and recommended coming back for brunch before we left town. The drinks lived up to the hype, and our bartender was so accomodating and attentive. We ultimately decided not to come back for brunch because the young hostess was so incredibly disrespectful. The five of us were standing closely around the bar area, and she rudely walked through our group instead of around us to retrieve menus on the other side of the bar, no doubt in an attempt to show she was cleaning up. There were still diners at multiple tables in the restaurant! We were in no way overstaying our welcome - we paid before 10 o'clock. Upon getting up from our seats to leave - at 10:03 - she quite literally cheered, throwing her arms up in the air, sarcastically wishing us well. I'm a 30-something who works in customer service and has worked in hospitality in the past and I was aghast. Trust me, I know how difficult it is to find reliable help, but she left a really lasting impression. Not the kind of experience I would think you'd want for your paying guests.
I was a little disappointed in the food and service. The food is processed offsite and then final prep is done on site. So when asking for something to be omitted in the dish the answer was no. Very disappointed. Update: Simeon's wrote and refuted my review and said that everything thing was made on-site. All I know is that I couldn't order what I wanted the way I wanted it and the wait staff said that was because the food was partly prepared off site. I hope this helps to clarify.
My girlfriend and I are there for the first time last night, place is very nice! The food was good but could have been slightly better we ordered the arancini balls for appetizer, and a couple were cold in the middle, she ordered the salmon and it was a bit over cooked and dry, we ordered the salad and added the shrimp to it and the shrimp was also a bit over cooked and dry, I ordered the steak and it was absolutely perfect cooked to perfection and very good. Service was great except for when the waitress took our napkins and silverware from the appetizer and salad never brought us new napkins and I had to take some from a prepared table. Other than that I would definitely try it again.
If you have more money than taste, this place is for you. Good atmosphere, decent service (though albeit not for a “fancy” restaurant but that was mostly due to the fact they only had one waitress serving everyone when we got there), but the food was pretty bad. Definitely not worth the money.
The food was good; oysters, mussels and salads were what we chose. The service however was very poor. We were seated a few minutes after our 6:45 reservation and we didn't get our drinks until 7:30. Our server was MIA most of the time except when it came to dropping of the check. A little more interaction would have been nice.
My wife and I had a very nice dinner. We started with The Big Dip a very good spinach artichoke and cheese dip with chips and bread. I had one of their signature cocktails, chamomile old fashioned they was very good. Lori enjoyed a semi dry Riesling. We both had a cup of soup, onion soup and New England clam chowder. She enjoyed the chicken parmesan with homemade pasta. I had the day's special, sea bass over green beans and mashed potatoes, very good! We finished splitting raspberry topped key lime, and pistachio cannoli for dessert. I also tried their standard old fashioned made with Blanton's bourbon. It was one of the best of old fashions I've ever had thanks to our server and bar tender Amy! Please keep in mind that Simeon's is one of the pricier places on restaurant row.
Came in for my friends birthday. Good food and nice restaurant but server wasn’t around and when It came to splitting up the check she said she couldn’t do it and we should have told her at the beginning. She then told us she could split it five ways, but then handed us five of the exact same bill and was rude when I just asked For an explanation.
We’ve had tons of great experiences here but today was a massive let down. They open for brunch at 11, we got to the commons early and walked with our daughter for 20 minutes waiting for them to open just to find out that they’re not opening till noon. No sign on their door, no indication of this on any of their social media. Just a disappointing waste of time.
Good , the bad, and the ugly Mussels- 9/10 Chicken Parmesan: 4/10 Pasta- 7/10 Chicken - 2/10, taste was hard and tough with no flavour. Ahi Tuna Sandwich with greens Sandwich- 5/10 . Sauce qnd bread broke the Sandwich down, decent flavour. Overall , my opinion is food is below average and poor value for money.
This place is incredibly mid while working very hard to be high society. Steak was overcooked and had the wrong sauce (why does it need a sauce?), incorrect drinks were brought, service was weird and chaotic. The "fondue" is just some stale kettle chip nachos essentially. Oysters weren't well cleaned. Why is the door/entry area such a disaster? None of it was worth the price.
Liked the atmosphere but wasnt my fav. They are trying to be "high class" We definitely under dress. The Waitresses definitely didn't want us there and treated us diffrently. I get it single mom with kids fresh from the commons but even with short stick drawing when we walked in. It was ok. Kids were happy. Excited about lobster it ended up.. bland and cold. Kids didnt eat it and The portions were smaller than I expected and waitress didnt refill our drinks an was short with us. For 3 dinners one appetizer with cokes as drinks with 3 desserts it was $155+ tip. So $205. Ps bathroom weridest location ever.. downstairs around 3 corners an past the boiler room lol we wont be returning much rather go else where to spend 200 an get higher quality an better food. Wish them well.
