So happy to see them open on the corner near us. It is great for my pizza fixes. And they have great salad to boot. It is reasonably priced and just tastes as if it were made with love. Our new go to spot.
I so thoroughly enjoyed my slice of 'grandmas' pizza. Perfectly crispy, a little tang in sauce, excellent. Highly recommend.
The pizza here is always delicious (Abitino's on 2nd Ave)! I always try to get my slice around lunch time when it's really busy and the pizza is fresh. The workers are so nice and friendly. They always have a smile for all their customers. I love their sausage and pepperoni pizza, grandma pizza and their regular slices. The soda is always cold and refreshing. Sometimes I come in to grab a slice for dinner, sit, relax and people watch outside the window. It feels like my second home cause I'm there so much sometimes. Ha! Great place to eat pizza and chill.
I’ve eaten at countless pizza places in NYC, but Abitinos absolutely blew me away. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with that heavenly smell of freshly baked dough, bubbling cheese, and rich tomato sauce — it’s the kind of aroma that instantly makes you hungry. The place has that classic New York vibe — simple, authentic, a little busy, but full of character. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Before I even sat down properly, they had already handed me a drink and recommended their top pizzas of the day. I ordered a classic Margherita and a slice of Pepperoni, and honestly, it was a revelation. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce tasted like real, sun-ripened tomatoes — slightly sweet, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The cheese was fresh, creamy, and stretched beautifully with every bite. You can tell they use top-quality ingredients — nothing processed, nothing fake, just pure craftsmanship and love for good pizza. What really stood out to me was how the owner came by to check if everything was okay. That personal touch makes such a difference — it didn’t feel like I was just another customer, but like I was a guest in someone’s kitchen. The prices are also surprisingly fair, especially for New York. You get real quality at a great value, which is rare in this city. I was so impressed that I grabbed a few slices to go, and even cold the next morning they were still amazing — that’s when you know a pizza is truly great. Bottom line: If you’re in NYC and looking for the perfect pizza, go to Abitinos. It’s not one of those overhyped tourist traps — it’s the real deal. You can taste the passion, the tradition, and the pride in every bite. I’m definitely coming back — probably tomorrow.
Superior customer service and delicious pizza. Many choices including the option of using a cauliflower crust! Shop is nice and clean. Love it here! Keep up the great work! Friendly team - I even call Alfredo my compadre!!
I come to NYU for weekly appointments, and at least once or twice a month I stop by Abitino’s Pizza on 2nd Ave. to take food home. The pizza is always delicious, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It’s a great spot for a quick bite or to grab something to enjoy later — definitely one of my favorite places in the neighborhood!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stopped into Abitino’s Pizza while visiting a friend at the Corinthian, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The pizza was absolutely delicious—perfectly crisp crust, flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service. Everything felt fresh, authentic, and made with care. I left full, happy, and already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!
I stopped by Abitino’s Pizza on 2nd Avenue and was really impressed! The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly — you can tell they use quality ingredients. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or sitting down for a meal, this is a great spot for authentic New York pizza. Highly recommend!
Abitino’s serves really reliable New York-style pizza. The crust is thin and crisp, the sauce has good flavor, and everything is fresh. Being near midtown it’s consistent and convenient. Service is quick and the staff are polite. A good option if you’re in the area and want a classic slice without any fuss.
I had a recent appointment at NYU. When I was done, I walked back to the subway and stumbled across a true gem of a pizzeria called Abitino's. I stopped in for a regular slice and a margherita slice. This place is as authentic as it gets when it comes to NY slice pizza. The pizza had the right amount of cheese and sauce and didn't flop down when I picked it up. Simply delicious. It was also nice to see how clean the place was. I can't recommend this place enough.
$8.36 for Grandmama and Margherita pizza slice (both included). Good taste. Clean.
I like Abitino's for their pizza and buffalo chicken tenders. Served with Bleu cheese on top, so tender and packed with flavor. The pasta dishes are good but I usually only get the baked ziti so I cannot confirm more. Oh, they do sell Sangria, and yes it's the real thing. Red or white available.
I was eager for a great pizza. Sadly, it fell short. To be fair, the pizza dough was crispy and had a decent texture, which was a positive. However, the overall quality was disappointing. The pizza and spinach roll had no real flavor. They were bland and unappealing. The ingredients seemed stale. It lacked seasoning. The meal felt incomplete. For the price, I expected much better taste and quality. Sadly, this was not the enjoyable meal I was hoping for.
I’ve lived above this pizza shop for about three years, and every once in a while I’ll grab a slice when I’m in a pinch. Unfortunately, it’s never really impressed me. The flavor often seems off, and the slices are frequently overcooked when reheated. I see their ingredients being delivered in the mornings when I leave for work, and it looks like they’re using good-quality stuff, which makes the end result more disappointing. There’s a newer spot that just opened around the corner that’s become my go-to instead.
Came here to grab a quick bite. Service there was rude and unprofessional. Didn't greet me. Just stared at me like I was a burden. Hmm hello I am giving you business lol?? Pricing felt outrageous. I got charged for extra marinara sauce. Two slices and a small drink ran me 16 usd. Take the congestion pricing out on goverment not the hard working customers trying to eat. I was not even told it would be extra i just saw him ring it up as extra on the machine. Of course no receipt was giving to me. Ok let's talk about the food. I got a hot chicken slice it was okay. I also got a margarita slice (not good) the cook made it so hot the cheese and sauce all melted off the slice. They are in a good spot I mean hey after all its a pizzeria in NYC. To the owner you got potential but tell your staff to be more friendly and more transparent with the customers on pricing. I was giving no receipt just rushed out. There was nobody even in line after me...you are not entitled to our money that is not how business works. I hope you read this and change your atmosphere.
Came here for a quick slice in between doctors. My dad got the grandma slice and rated it 5/10. He said it was very dry crust and wouldn’t come back. I got a mushroom and pepperoni slice. The mushroom was very bland and not enough sauce. I had to use ALOT of garlic and oregano to season it up. The pepperoni was better but still very sub par. The pepperoni added alot of flavor but still needed seasoning. It was also a bit oily to my liking. I wouldn’t go back again. It lacked a lot of flavor and was expensive for the quality.
On August 19th around 9:40 PM, I left my wallet next to the register while buying a slice. A few minutes later I called the store, but I was yelled at that it wasn’t there and was asked not to call back. Later that night, my wallet’s AirTag still showed it at the store until 11pm, past closing time, and the next morning the AirTag was disabled. I reached out again the following day to ask if the cameras could be checked, but was told the owner was unavailable and haven’t received a reply to my email either. Unfortunately, this left me without answers and I’ve since had to involve my bank and file a report. This was a very disappointing and stressful experience. Edit: First of all you are already lying because I did in fact send you an email 3 days ago, check the picture I posted. Your response shows how disrespectful you are to your customers. Just read your other 1 star reviews, and quite frankly your 5 stars are pretty questionable. I have emailed you and gave you a few days to respond before leaving this review. The fact that you will only respond to me after leaving a review, and flat out lie to save face is disgusting. Let's clear this up once and for all, check your footage, and email me proof that they did not take it. And don't tell me that your footage magically disappeared. I am certain that they took it, but if you prove me wrong I will remove this review
This is one of the worst pizzas I ever tasted. They show a photo of what the upside down sicilian pizza looks like on ubereats - all sauce on top and cheese underneath, which is how it is in other pizza places. I even called to check this is what is. But When you get the square slice- it’s 99.5% all cheese on top w/ just a dot here, a dot there of literally a small drop of sauce here & there- NOTHING like an upside down square slice. It was awful!! Then their plain cheese and margherita slices looked so dry and stale as if it had been sitting on the counter for ten hours or was from the day before. The margherita was missing sauce on one side of it and looked so dry & stale. The plain cheese had an empty spot with no cheese or sauce on it and was so dry as if it had been sitting there since yesterday. Took a little bite. It was horrible. The grandma slice was advertised in ubereats as being on garlic bread. Nope, no garlic bread. And, did not taste good. Here’s the funniest part— they actually ask you on their ubereats page - would you like LESS SAUCE OR NO SAUCE!!!!! I’m not kidding!! I’ve been eating pizza for many years. It was awful!! One of the worst!!
If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. I walked in visibly disabled and the staff began with treating me like a child. There were two men working today. They acted like it was a bother to warm up a crappy slice of pizza. This is a tourist place, not an authentic NYC pizza place. I had ordered a slice of pizza and when they presented a slice at the counter warmed up, I started to grab for it and got spoken to like a child. I asked for my money back because I had not eaten anything. First the counter person refused and then I just said just keep it, nothing quite like stealing from customers. I am disabled, I don’t have the time and energy to deal with ableism. But I went back in and demanded my money back. The fact that one of the staff, any staff member, would be okay with keeping money from a customer when the customer are nothing and drank nothing, after horrific and condescending irrational behavior is beyond me. I should have checked the reviews before I went in.
