This the hands down the best Denny's restaurants that I have been to! like many here have stated the place is organized, clean, and relax. We stopped by the restaurant for a quick grab of burgers and fries as we are trying to beat the traffic before getting back to the Bay, getting ourselves 1 Flaming 5 Pepper burger, and a single chess burger, both were juicy, fresh and hot, and the fries was perfectly fried! Gf who usually love the in and out burger were saying the burgers from this Denny's restaurant are some of the best she had! and I couldn't agree more! (we gulp up the food so fast that we didn't thought of getting pictures, so i will attached the receipt instead haha) We will definitely stop by next time if we are in the area! I accidently dropped my air pod pro there and upon calling them, the manager Christian offer to mail it back to me for free! and I insist on paying for the shipping cost but they say it is on the house. Wow my new favorite spot in Kettleman city! The environment 5 stars! You feel like if your at home! Except in this situation you are served and taken care of! Don’t get me started on the employees, the are amazing the hostess Evelyn was so kind and even got us started with our drinks right away!! Loved the coffee! Clean, delicious, fresh, polite! So glad we stopped here. Bathrooms are very clean and the food made us stop and think about the Denny’s of our childhoods and then 10 yrs ago. How great it is that the brand has grown up and kept up with the trend of foods people desire. The owner was actually there and suited up preparing for the dinner rush. I felt like I was In a business that is very carefully maintained and has great quality assurance.

This is by far one of the best Dennys I have ever tried. They are always busy on the weekends and definitely worth the wait. Gabriel is an excellent manager who treat all their customers like family. If you are driving thru Kettleman this is a must stop!

This was a curbside pickup order, and one of the best breakfasts I've ever had at any Denny's. Even after sitting in a plastic container for almost 10 minutes, my hash browns were nice & crispy, the English muffin was toasted perfectly, the omelette was extra-delicious, and looked as good as it tasted. I don't know who made it for me at 8:30 am on 3/26/21, but they are an excellent cook!

We went there as a stop for breakfast before going further on our road trip. The eggs and hash browns were great until I went to put jelly on my toast, and there's a bug crawling around on my toast! They need to check their jelly container holders more often... I think that's where the bug came from.

This was the Denny's to beat all other Denny's. We've stayed in Kettleman City before, and our hotel (Best Western) is a short walk to the restaurant. It was not crowded, and we were promptly seated. The restaurant was in immaculate shape, with clean fixtures and floors, and not a single dirty table in sight. Gabriel greeted us at the front desk, and wound up being our server. He was very helpful without hovering, and was very prompt in taking our order, delivering our food, and checking in on us from time to time. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, and my wife ordered the 55+ Salmon dinner. The menu said that portions are now bigger, and that was very evident in the plate that was delivered. And I have to say...I've had Denny's many times in my life, but the quality of the food on this visit was easily the best I've had. The steak was delicious, the herbed corn tasted like herbed corn should, and the mashed potatoes were very, very flavorful. My wife's salmon dinner was very good as well. For desert we had a Strawberry Shake which we shared, and it was REALLY REALLY delicious. It easily was as good if not better than an ice cream palor, which is pretty amazing. There was plenty of it too, as my wife said "you finish mine". Of course, I did. We told Gabriel how impressed we were, and he said "This is the best Denny's in the world!" I have to say - he might be right. Who would have guessed it would be in Kettleman City California. If you are travelling up I-5 in the middle of California, stop here. You will not regret it.

They had one guy doing everything. The crazy part was he handled it with ease. My kids even made comments on it. He was super nice and everything was good.

We were extremely impressed by our hostess and server Christan. She greeted us and served us with such caring and professionalism. Her husband Gabriel who brouht out our meal was also exceptionally friendly. Christan and Gabriel are assets to Denny's. We were surprised and pleased to be able to have wild caught salom for dinner.

We were all smiles and so grateful for this positive highlight in a very long drive. Our server was a delight, infectiously happy, and she made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. When we thanked her and told her how much we appreciated how hard she was working, she pointed out her husband and son also working in the restaurant! A hard working family! We also watched them patiently take care several very large groups - long tables of travelers and local friends meeting up for dinner. Our kids had never eaten at a Denny’s so it was so great to have such a positive experience.

Wow, what a great experience we had here at this location. We came in about an hour before they closed, and we were greeted like it was morning. Chris (Christopher) was very knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us great customer service. My husband ordered the all you can eat pancakes (awesome deal!), and I had a side whole grain pancakes (so yummy!) and sides of rice, corn, and broccoli. Kudos to the kitchen!!! Being one of the last tables of the night, they cook our pancakes to order and beautifully golden, brown and delicious!! The dining room and bathroom were clean and the other staff very friendly and helpful. We got to say Chris made our night!! Thank you, and see you next time we pass on through. Stay cool! ;)

My daughter and I was on a long trip and needed food and coffee. We stopped at this Dennys. We received the best friendly service and the best food.we told them we had another 4 hours to get home and they had coffee to go ready for us when we were leaving. I would not hesitate to tell anyone to stop there and eat it was wonderful and people where very kind and friendly.

Christian and Chris are the best! It was very cold when we stopped at the Denny’s restaurant in Kettleman. Christian brought us hot water with honey and lemon slices to warm us up. NOT YOUR TYPICAL DENNY'S We have driven by this Denny's a hundred times but never stopped because, well, we have been to other Denny's and, you know.... But we ended up getting a used Tesla and gave it a try when we charged in Kettleman. Now we eat here every time. This is by far the best Denny's we have ever been to. It's VERY clean. No syrup running down the bottle, no stains on the cups or silverware, the floors are picked up and when they wipe down the tables and seats, they obviously use a clean towel. The staff is always super friendly and very helpful and the food is great. The nice woman that manages it is there often and she has to be the reason it is such a well run place. The good management shows.

No soup at noon for my 96 yo mom. Of course not servers fault, not cooks fault. Where is the AKM? And why didn't GM do a pass down to staff at start of meal period? Things do happen, but no communication. And let's be honest, soups are not made by scratch anymore unless a high end venue... maybe. A lot of high end soups are frozen....use a double pot commercial warmer. Needs to be addressed by RM. Ron

I have been fortunate enough to have Stephanie as my waitress on 3 different visits now. This girl managed our very large party of 25 magnificently. We even changed seats on her a couple of times, an event that can frustrate any waitress, but not this girl. She ran around and kept us all very happy. By the end of our meal, even my friends knew her name and were commenting on how she earned her tips! We got here at 9-ish, not too busy a time, and it only took about 5 mins from when I walked in to when we sat. I had the Saracha-Jalapeno burger. It was very good, and I had enough fries to share with my friends. Good job chefs!

You may think “ what the heck” about my 5 star rating. But this Dennys in Kettleman City is a notch above the average Dennys. Plus I’ve always had great customer service here. No exception to that with my last experience a few months ago. The food is served hot and timely to the table, it’s cooked better and seems tastier than most other Dennys. The vibe is welcoming, chill, and family friendly. The place is kept clean and tidy. I stopped here for a weekend lunch. I ordered a breakfast slam. Simple and classic. The hash browns were cooked to a perfect crispness. The waiter was awesome.

My only recommendation is for management to get a better handle on the detail aspect of taking orders. Food came out fairly quickly and was as expected. Only complaint was the bathrooms cleanliness. The bathrooms smelled very bad and no soap in the dispensers. It was a slow morning so attention should’ve have been on the cleanliness before it picked up. Came across this Denny when making our trip to Lake Tahoe from Southern California.

My family and I stopped there for lunch on our way to Oakland. The hostess hardly looked at us and seemed upset, but the waitress was very pleasant. The food was delicious, especially the hash browns, better than any other Dennys we've been to. The downside to our visit was that the outside temp was over 105 degrees, and the AC in the restroom wasn't working, so it was very stifling in there.

I found this restaurant to be exactly what you would expect a Dennys to be with a couple of extras-Angie the exceptionally friendly waitress and the very clean restroom! I had the chicken strip meal with broccoli and French fries. It was very tasty, crispy, hot and not greasy. My friend had the salmon meal and gave it an A grade- nice char and not salty. We will stop by again on Saturday on our way home. I hope Angie is there😊

It's your average Denny's nothing too special about it. We came here on a Sunday evening and everyone working there was friendly as well as attentive to our needs. It was just us two and another table with two ladies in the whole restaurant so it was nice and quiet. But the food came out hot and it tasted just as I had expected. I don't know how bad it could be for others but for my visit it was nice. I will admit the price is quite high for a Denny's but I understand costs from lease, employees, workers compensation, insurance and much more have been going up everywhere. But after my first experience here, I would recommend this Denny's location as a good place to stop and rest up a bit. But I will admit the restroom does need some cleaning, I don't know if we came after a huge dinner rush or what but it was pretty messy.

Sometimes the service and the food at Denny’s can be hit and miss . I stopped at this one because it was conveniently located just about a block and a half off interstate five. I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with a smiling hostess and seated right away. Short time later the waitress showed up with a cup of coffee and asked if I was ready to order. My breakfast order, Moons over my hammy, came in pretty short order. The only criticism I would have is a hashbrowns or someone undercooked. Other than that no complaints. The restaurant has very clean appears well sanitized. I will stop here again

My burger was really good since you can no longer request it cooked a certain way, your option is well done. I asked that mine not be dry and crunchy. Our server who took the order passed that on to the cook. The server who brought our make us excellent, I wish I cod remember his name right now but, he is always polite, smiling and is genuine when he asks if there is anything else. Now, if they would keep the nasty bathrooms kept up better, that would not only be appreciated but would garner a much better star review. We stop for breakfast at least 2x's a yr on our way home from the coast, today was not just an off day on the restroom care.

Food was good, place was clean. But it took 32 minutes from when we ordered to get our food. There were only 4 other tables of 2-4 people each, so they weren't busy at all. If you have time, stop in. But if you want a quick meal, this isn't it. It was a Friday at 7pm.

The waitress brought hot water for my tea, but no tea bag, I had to remind her as she was walking back to the kitchen area, then she completely forgot about it , finally I had to walk up and ask the cook for a bag of honey spice tea. When our food was ready the cook let her know the orders were up, she acknowledged him while she talked to some folks who were done eating and having coffee . She talked with them for about 4 more minutes before bringing us are good, the eggs were very like warm by the time we started eating and so was the bacon. Very bad customer relations. We were very disappointed 😞. $17 dollars a piece for cold food, there were only 3 tables at 9:30 on a Thursday morning, ..... No Excuse at all!

Nice place, but was not very satisfied with the quality of food. I got the avocado chicken Cesar salad, the lettuce was old, definitely not fresh, the bacon almost broke one of my teeth somehow and the apple crisp I ordered for dessert was soft and soggy. Guess they tried to dress it up with powdered sugar so I wouldn't notice when the server brought it out. You'll be better off going over to the In-n-out or perhaps McDonald's. At least they seem to care about their food preparation.

I got the chicken fried steak and eggs. The menu says it's "smothered" in gravy. Mine had maybe a table spoon on gravy on it. Not even enough to spread around and cover the steak. The gravy itself seemed like just for and water. No flavor at all. The food was greasy and unsatisfying.

Would have been great experience when we were greeted warmly by a female server (Latina) all smiles and excitement but then the moment we took a break from eating, stopped munching our food, she immediately came to hand over the bill. Asking “can i take some plates out of your way” we were literally still working on our food. It has not been over 15 mins yet since we recieved our food. We waited 35 mins for the food but the server was so quick to kick us out? Whats up with servers trying to rush costumers out. If the concern was flipping the table, it was just 2 tables occupied at that time and plenty of other tables are empty. I am so mucha nnoyed with service workers rushing the costumers out. Why dont you just let people savor the meal and let them rest. After all, this location is meant to cater travelers.

Customer service is ok, but the food is HORRIBLE! I ordered the Country Fried steak and eggs. Steak was burnt. Asked for another steak, waited about 15 more minutes to receive another burned steak. Hash browns were also burned and greasy!

We stopped for breakfast an were seated by the host. Unfortunately we were discriminated by the waitress as she saw we were seated first but chose to take the order from another patron seated after us and right next to us. As a Hispanic I have not seen this myself as my Fiancé (Asian) has told me she has received this type of discrimination in the past. Choosing not to make a scene and bring attention to this discrimination we got up and left immediately. We will not be stopping here again even though we frequently travel this road.

Let's get this out of the way. The servers and bussers are doing their best. Diego was working hard and doing a great job. I want to make it very clear that management has ruined this place. This used to be my favorite stop up the 5, they even had all you can eat pancakes when no other Denny's did. I used to recommend this place to my friends. The staff has always been amazing and has gone above and beyond, but it seems like management has either changed or just become significantly worse. Menu prices are significantly marked up compared to the same items at other locations. I understand their logic, it's a travel location after all, but I should be paying an additional $7 for every basic slam and $6 for a side of hash. Best of all though, get this- a $0.50 hidden surcharge for EGG PLATES. The plates that literally COME WITH THE SLAM. Not only are the prices already marked way up, but they manage to nickel and dime you on top of that. The lead or owner (couldn't really tell, didn't have any sort of uniform or badge or anything, just some really heavy perfume) was yelling at the staff during a breakfast rush when they were doing their best with the few people they had on the floor. I don't even go out of my way to give restaurants reviews very often, especially not negative ones, so make no misunderstanding that when I say I hate this place, I really do hate this place. It's disappointing how one of our favorite breakfast stops has changed so much.

Very BAD and gross, they serve disgusting human hair in their food. Its gross. See pics. The workers were rude to me when I showed them the hair in their food. I paid for the food eventhough the food was gross and i did not eat.i will never go to denny again and I will not suggest to anybody. They are gross, rude and ignorant. A disaster: on a Tuesday we were denied service, as a family, saying they were closing at 7pm when the advertised time is until 10pm. Not our first time here, but probably the last. Discrimination? Management problems? Unfortunate for the restaurant chain.

I took my mother here to eat the other day while we were traveling down south for her chemotherapy appointment. My mother was very tired and needed to eat, these days she struggles to eat so when she wanted Denny’s breakfast slam I was thrilled. When we walked into the establishment I noticed they had just wiped down the waiting benches and they were very wet, I asked an older woman if she could please a section so my mother could sit down while we waited to our table. The woman smacked her lips together and, in a very strong middle eastern accent she yelled at us to wait a minute. The only reason I mentioned the accent was because I didn’t understand her and asked her to repeat herself. She turned around and raised her voice telling us to wait. The restaurant was basically empty and she was the only staff member at the front. She walked to the back and didn’t return for 10 minutes, leaving my weak 82 year old mother standing there. So I helped my mother to a booth and had her sit and we waited, and waited. Finally after about 15 minutes the rude woman came back out and told us that we had to move to the other side of the restaurant because that side was closed. I asked her if she could make an exception and she said”no now please move to other side.” At this point I was furious at how she treated us and asked for a manager. She informed me that she was the manager and said,” why do you have problem with me?” My mother, being such a loving and caring woman, asked if we could order please. The managers response was okay what you want? We hadn’t even been given menus, silverware not even a cup of water. At this point my mother and I got up and left, as I was helping my mother to the door, I heard the manager say that we came in and made a mess and now she has to clean up after us for nothing. If the service is this bad, I can’t even imagine how horrible the food must be. I will be making an official report to their head offices.

Came here for a late dinner at 9pm, ordered a sirloin steak plate, salmon plate, a bourbon skillet and 2 kids plates. Man let me tell you.....the salmon was way over cooked and dry , the steak was way under cooked then as ordered, both plates veggie sides (broccoli and zucchini) the broccoli was cold and the zucchini the cooked on the grill without bothering to wipe off from the food ordered before and had hash browns completely with it and tasted straight like old grease. The bourbon skillet....the chicken on there was not cooked fully through and the kids plate, one was chocolate chip pancakes and they were overcooked crispy and the chocolate tasted burnt. It's honestly sad on the fact that we have to waste money on food that we couldn't even eat . It was absolutely nasty . Only one kids plate came out fine which was just corn dogs. Unacceptable.

Our server was great, but that's the only thing good about this placd. The bathrooms were disgusting and had trash thrown everywhere (there were 2 other families aside from mine in the entire restaurant). The food was gross. The mashed potatoes had a weird texture and were tangy, the brocolli was overcooked and tasted burnt, the garlic bread was soggy on the bottom but crunchy on top. I don't know it was just weird. Honestly it is the worst Denny's I have ever had. I would not recommend, and we paid over $20 for each plate of food. I don't see how this location is still open.

We ordered 4 meals and all the 4 came with what we didn’t order for or missing what we ordered . Please don’t visit this place. It’s really expensive for nothing. So much oil in the food and tasteless . They didn’t even bring my husband’s order for 25 minutes and once it came it had the one thing he said he didn’t want in his food

The prices have been rising extremely the they charge for ham $7.00 this is so ridiculous and they don’t have a good menu very little options and the food is cold. The service is bad always in a hurry to take your order and don’t offer you refills on coffee.I really don’t recommend that you eat here and waste your money on something that’s not worth it!!

This order was supposed to be a steak, medium rare, mashed potatoes and a side of gravy. I called as soon as we got home because it was a takeout order to complain about it, however, the restaurant had already closed. So I called first thing the next morning with pictures and food in hand And was told I had to wait until the next day when the head manager was there. We took in the photos of the food and she actually asked us what was wrong with it that it looked fine to her. After happening to call corporate to complain about. Our treatment there the manager finally agreed to only replace the steak not the meal. Then she managed to blame us for her cooks error. I have never been treated so badly over someone else’s mistake. We have been loyal customers to this Dennys basically since it opened. We eat there at least three times a week. So to be blamed and mistreated the way that I was and the way that my husband was was unacceptable. The replacement mistake that was also supposed to be medium rare was fully cooked and dry And again she somehow managed to figure out how to blame us because her chef did not properly know how to make a steak. Now, before this complaint, we only complain one other time years ago about overcooked pancakes, and she proceeded to throw that in our face like again it was our fault her chef Messed up. The woman manager is inconsiderate, rude, and very disrespectful. If you are getting it to go menu or meal, please make sure you check it before you leave..

I paid $21 for this salad, and it came with visibly rotten avocado — brown, mushy, and completely inedible (see photo). For the price, I expected fresh ingredients and basic quality control. Extremely disappointing. I won’t be ordering from here again
