My husband and I came here for a date night, and to be honest, we really enjoyed ourselves. We came across it looking on Google, after attempting to go to another Japanese sushi restaurant closer to home, but when we arrived and the lines went out both front and back doors, we left. This is a small establishment, it has a more family-feel to it, and we enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Even though there was only a few customers, we liked that it wasn't over packed and was more intimate. We both ordered bento boxes with hot sake. Food was wonderful, we left full and happy. The price was extremely reasonable.
Just returning to a beloved old haunt of mine. I've loved this place since my first year of Uni at ULV. The matron and everyone else who works there are truly lovely people. The food is simply wonderful (Usually, the Spider Roll is my # 1 favorite, well, next to the Tempura Ice Cream that nowhere else in SoCal has managed to perfect like Aoki's ). The prices are hella affordable, for college students & state workers lol The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. One could look at the decorations and photos displayed on the walls for hours and not get bored. Overall, it's an awesome place to go to.
This is a small mom and pop restaurant in downtown La Verne and i's very cute inside. The vibe is nice and I took some pictures while I waited for my takeout. The price was also decent, not terriblely expensive for sushi. The food was very good. We got an Alaskan roll and a Baked Scallop roll. They were a little smaller than average but very good. The salmon was fresh and had a great flavor and the scallops were chopped and cooked well. I went home and placed everything on a medium plate and it filled the plate up 100 percent would go again.
Went here for sushi while in town. Really cute place!! Friendly lady and good food. The salmon sashimi was delicious! The rolls were great! Tried the red dragon roll. It was tasty!! So is the double shrimp.
This place is amazing, very delicious. Has a great home atmosphere, the people who run it are wonderful. A little expensive but you get lots of food, all this was $45

Friendly service and filling portions. Fairly priced as well.
A small mom & pop place. The sushi is very fresh. You can taste the difference from other places. I typically don't eat salmon rolls, here I did and the flavor was amazing. They have a variety to choose from. Check hours before attending

Hi again to all you gastronomic foodies. Today's food adventure took us to Aoki sushi in La Verne California. If you are in the area please give them a try. The food was very good and fresh. You will notice right away as you walk in, that the atmosphere is rustic but inviting. The service was warm prompt and friendly and the food was very good, the sushi was very battery and succulent. We shared a bento box and a rainbow roll for our lunch, it was so good. Not only were we very happy with the quality but there was plenty of food to fill both of us up. Remember my friends as always, to stay happy, be mindful and be the best you. " One great meal can change the world" so let's start changing the world.

Long time family owned restaurant. Our visit was early on a Saturday before lunch crowd. The atmosphere and decor were nice with good amount of vegetation and patio seating. I ordered a unagi bowl it was enough food but they really skimped on the eel. Five thinly sliced eel to cover the rice does not justify for full price unagi bowl. I am disappointed.

Really wanted to like this place but I just don’t know. Walked away feeling pretty unsatisfied. Got a bento box. Tempura was quite good but the teriyaki beef was just awful. It looked as sad as it tasted… lol. The sushi rolls my friend ordered looked very small. Just didn’t feel like we were getting any value for our money. The owner/waitress seemed pretty nice at first but she was actually low key kind of aggressive? I don’t know. Atmosphere was eclectic and cute. Just a little time worn and bit grimy around the edges. Extremely quiet though…made it feel awkward to chat with my party.
The pictures from online are very deceiving, order 2 bento boxes, 1 miso soup and the deep fried crab which can out to $56. I ordered over the phone and told the lady I'll eat there but she packed it up & she said to eat it outside. Seeing the food in person I wasn't impressed, super small portion and looked like there was no effort into making our food. Definitely not gonna have a 2nd visit here.
I work pretty close to this place. I took my daughter for dinner and talking down the road. We made a decisions to go to this sushi place. Everything was going well. Did the waitress I think she is part owner She came down to the table and asked me to pay while I was still eating. I was paying with my credit card and then I looked my wallet to see if I had cash to leave cash tips. Then I continue eating. I was still eating and she came back and asked her for the tip and at that time I was already like somethings going on with this girl so I told her I’m not there yet. I got up and asked her Where the restrooms where and what they different look she just pointed to the hallway. When wash my hands The hallway they have a sink so came back to the table. My daughter was still sitting on the table when I was coming to the table she called me liar. By that time, I have already left the tip under my glass. When she called me, you’re a liar and I told her why. She walked over to the table and she saw the money and she said oh I’m sorry I’m sorry. In the first place, I look at my wallet, but I never told her or promised I will leave any tips.

If you have too much money and no taste then welcome to this place, sashimi are not fresh like chewing plastic, and there’s only 4 tiny eel in the eel box, I guess it’s for super rich guys!

If you're hungry don't come here. Ordered Benton lunch, meat tasted spoiled, did not eat it. It sucked caused I was looking forward to it.
Not good Japanese food. The tempura was hard and thick. Service not that great either. The water tasted like chlorine. I make better miso soup at home. No A/C, and expensive for what you get!
TERRIBLE! The plates were dirty, and the windows were full of bugs. The table was sticky and wobbly. Service, I can say the old couple host this restaurant, no service and kind of rude. Miso soup was salty. The food I didn’t want to taste when I saw the bugs.
This was my sister and her friends experience today, keep in mind theres 5 people ages 16-17: The lady made my friend cry by demanding my friend to put away the Mexican food she brought in order not to feel left out and proceeds to aggressively pay my friend on the shoulder 3 times, we all just looked in shock because we don’t know this lady that’s touching our friend. It took 20 minutes for 2 lemonades and a sprite to come out then another additional 10 minutes for everyone’s food to come out (mins you we all ordered at the same time). Mind you we waited 30 minutes in total when the shop wasn’t even occupied. We also watched the chef take breaks amidst making our order. We proceeded to go outside because our friend was crying, due to the rude attitude from the lady, so she wasn’t embarrassed by the people coming in. When it was time to pay we all decided not to tip because of her rude attitude. When my first friend went up to pay she was confronting her as to why she didn’t tip her and demanded my friend to tip her. My second friend paid for her meal and demanded a tip but didn’t receive it. When I went to pay she asked if I wasted my change back ($0.03) and I declined because if I said yes it’ll have led to another issue. When I told her she could keep it she stormed off, after that we left without finishing what we paid for Additionally, the size of the Sushi California rolls were the equivalent size of a quarter which is completely unfair when you see the cost of it. Summary of the text: The lady was extremely hostile to me and my friends and demanded a tip. Horrible customer service.
I recently dined here with a friend. The food and overall service during the meal were fine. However, the experience at the end of the meal left a bad impression. When it was time to pay, the waitress (who may have also been the manager) handed me the card reader and stood directly over me while I was inserting my card and completing the transaction. It felt uncomfortable and unnecessarily intrusive. What made it worse was that when I chose not to leave a tip, she questioned me about it and appeared upset. Tipping is optional, and while I understand it’s appreciated, customers should not feel pressured, watched, or confronted about their choice. The way it was handled made the experience feel awkward and unprofessional.
The manager Micki was the rudest person I have ever had as a server. All because of a communication issue that was on her part that i took blame for so she would stop yelling at us. We tipped nothing because she called us liars and when she saw we tipped zero on the card reader she immediately snatched the card reader back with our card still processing. Better sushi places near by with way better service. So disappointed
Generally went to go to try out a new sushi place and didn’t even spend a lot but they tried to force us to give a tip when we were literally the only people in there, then asked where we are from literally being rude all because we didn’t give a tip, as not only but said they will let us go this time but next we have to, like why have a no tip option then get mad that we should that option. Also just want to say I know it is common courtesy to leave a tip but in this case only got 2 things that only took 5 minutes to make and plus the sushi was so small and if I were to leave a tip it would be because they either worked hard and it was busy or I order a lot and in this case I or they didn’t, literally no one was there
I recently dined at your restaurant and was very disappointed with both the food and the service. I ordered the Sushi A, but the rice had far too much vinegar, completely overwhelming the flavor. The sushi pieces also fell apart immediately when picked up, which shows a lack of proper preparation and technique. In addition, the miso soup was made with far too much miso, resulting in an overly salty and unpleasant taste. Based on this experience, I feel that neither the sushi nor the soup should have been served in this condition, as they did not reflect a proper understanding of Japanese food. The service was also troubling. The woman serving me suddenly asked about my nationality in a very rude manner, which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Overall, I was deeply dissatisfied with both the quality of the food and the disrespectful service. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make improvements.
