OMG those charbroiled Louisiana oysters were perfection. The Sauvignon Blanc was a great pairing for this appetizer too. I’ll be back for those oysters.

I had some delicious oysters and the service was excellent. Will definitely revisit

Food, service, and atmosphere is great. I even took my 1yo daughter and she enjoyed it. Music was not too loud and seats were not super close to each other as I expected.

Just one of my favorite places. Best craft cocktails in town with a great staff in a very modern and thoughtful atmosphere.

Excellent! This place is such a welcome addition to Downtown Lafayette. We love the atmosphere, and Chef Ryan Trahan killed it with the menu. Also, I dream about the Clockwork Orange cocktail. Thank you guys so much for creating this experience for the people of Lafayette!

So good! Best oysters in town and half off oysters and drinks daily for happy hour!

Always a great experience at Vestal. Ryan is a very accommodating bartender. Get the Barataria Beauties locally farmed oysters.

You won’t find better craft cocktails in south Louisiana. Their oyster selection is to die for and the ambiance and service are unmatched. Treat yourself!

My girlfriend and I had an incredible dining experience at Vestal! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. We came specifically to try their tartare, and it exceeded our expectations. The combination of the fresh ingredients, including the Dijon mustard, capers, and wasabi, created an amazing burst of flavors! My girlfriend opted for the fried chicken, and it was a delightful choice. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The flavors were spot on, and it left us craving for more. To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the chocolate dome with coffee ice cream. It was the perfect finish to our dinner, and the rich chocolate paired wonderfully with the smooth coffee ice cream. The service at Vestal was exceptional. When I requested to switch tables, they accommodated our request. The staff was attentive and made us feel welcomed throughout the evening. The ambiance at Vestal was equally impressive. The dim lights and pastel colors created a cozy and romantic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening. Overall, Vestal exceeded our expectations in every aspect - from the food to the service to the ambiance. I am so glad I found a spot in Lafayette where you can eat both delicious and safely prepared tartare. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, Vestal is the place to go!

Probably the best fine dining restaurant in Lafayette, if not the only. Everything was delicious and prepared well. Exceeded expectations

My group of friends had one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had at Vestal! Everything we had was a hit, and we had a lot! Definitely worth the price in our eyes! Checks all the boxes: great atmosphere, food, staff, and cocktails.

Went here for my birthday dinner with a friend and we both enjoyed it so much! Delicious cocktails that are well-balanced. The charred cauliflower appetizer was interesting, lol. I had the whole fish entree and it was amazing! Such delicious flavors and so filling! My friend had the filet with crab on top and she said it was so good. Pricey to go all out, so expect the bill! But certainly a lovely dining experience, and I appreciate how unique and tasty everything was.

The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered several dishes and they were all delicious. My personal favorite was the lasagna. It was the most unique take on the lasagna I’ve ever had. Ask for Trey as your server! He is so good at recommending dishes and pairings. If you are in the area, this place is a must!

A great addition to Lafayette's restaurant scene. Beautifully appointed restaurant, very warm and intimate. We had wonderful food, starting with the ceviche and the focaccia with feta butter. For our entree we had a pork shank along with cauliflower. The shank was tender, well seasoned and the herb mixture accompanying it added a wonderful depth of flavor and complexity to it. The cauliflower had a green chili sauce, but it wasn't spicy. Very good. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse. The mousse is great, deep, dark, rich and complex. Make reservations, this is someplace you want to eat.

An amazing culinary experience from Ryan Trahan. Deco is something I've never seen in Lafayette before. Curved edges, dim lighting and hand placed tiles on the table. Also most if not all the dishes seem to be custom made in the USA. Every bit about this place has a purpose to entice your senses. The food seems to be an interesting mix of gulf seafood with an exotic twist. 5 different types of oysters from the raw bar. Blue crab spaghetti with salmon roe was one of the most interesting dishes I've ever had. We had the whole fish for our entree with a side of mushrooms and potatoes. Very simple but full of flavor. The fish was cooked in the hearth (did I mention they had a custom built heart that the restaurant surrounds?). Crispy and so tender topped with olives, and sitting in a soy based sauce. Overall a great experience and happy to see Chef Ryan back in his element!

Absolutely Fabulous This is the ONLY restaurant I trust with a steak. Perfect in every way, every time.

A truly wonderful experience in Lafayette when it comes to finer dining. The tomahawk was cooked perfectly and the rest of the dishes kept the same level of quality and taste. The staff and our waiter added to the rest of the overall quality of our evening. We'll definitely be returning and can't recommend Vestal enough to anyone looking for a change in how dining is done in Louisiana.

I loved this place! The service was great and the server was nice and attentive. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and their food was amazing. I always get tired of eating the same thing but their spinach and artichoke dip as well and their macaroni was phenomenal even though it’s nothing short of ordinary, it was so delicious. I also had the roasted oysters and a chocolate martini and it those were just as good as the rest! 10/10

Vestal My foodie daughter Sharon and her husband Marty are visiting for the weekend. When we visit them in Dallas, they always take us to the best restaurants—last night, we took them to Vestal. Vestal is one of our favorites, and last night did not disappoint! We started with cocktails—Rogers and I did our usual filthy martinis—his Grey Goose, mine. Marty followed suit with a Vodka Martini. Sharon ordered from the specialty drink menu and ordered the Girls and Cigars cocktail—all were fantastic! Starters: BEEF TARTARE—WASABI, CAPERS, OYSTER EMULSION, FURIKAKE, GRILLED BREAD WOOD ROASTED OYSTERS—TOGARASHI BUTTER, PECORINO CRISPY GARLIC FURIKAKE Everyone enjoyed the Beef Tartare with its unique blend of flavors—I love how Vestal incorporates unique flavors in their dishes. Those Oysters are a must! Again, a flavor explosion—if you haven’t visited Vestal, definitely order the oysters if available. They also offer raw on the half-shell. Soups and Salads: CRAWFISH BISQUE—LIME CREMA, SPICY PEPPER, CHIVE BEET SALAD—BLOOD ORANGE, PICKLED SHALLOT, ARUGULA, FETA, LEMONGRASS VINAIGRETTE CAESAR—PARMESAN, NIBOSHI, CROUTONS Sharon ordered a bowl of the Crawfish Bisque—Vestal’s take on Crawfish Bisque in a non-traditional way. It was loaded with crawfish and fantastic. Rogers never strays far from Caesar Salad and ordered theirs, and again it was delicious. I did their Beet Salad, and oh my—a layered salad with mascarpone on the bottom, topped with the beets and then the greens and toppings—refreshing and delicious. Mains: CRAWFISH BISQUE—LIME CREMA, SPICY PEPPER, CHIVE 6 OZ FILLET—GARLIC BEURRE MONTE & JUMBO LUMP CRAB TWICE-BAKED POTATO—CHEDDAR SAUCE, CRISPY BACON, CREME FRAICHE, CHIVES 16 OZ RIBEYE BRUSSEL SPROUTS—CHILI, PANCETTA, APPLE AGRODOLCE Rogers enjoyed Sharon’s Crawfish Bisque and ordered it as his main. I love their steak and ordered the filet topped with lump crab—it was terrific. That crab meat was a great addition to the filet. I chose the twice-baked potato for my side, and I loved their take—again, non-traditional and delicious. Sharon and Marty enjoyed the Ribeye—perfectly cooked and delicious. They ordered the Brussels—again, a flavor explosion. BIG thanks to Joseph for making our visit memorable—you rock! Vestal is always great for a special occasion or date night. It's a real treat with its unique menu, upscale atmosphere, and fantastic service. If you have not had the opportunity to visit, please consider them the next time you're looking for a treat night. Sunday’s Soda Fountain Last night after dining at Vestal with my daughter Sharon and her husband Marty, we decided to head over to Sunday’s for a boozy dessert—it was fantastic. We are huge fans of Sunday’s—they offer a great food menu and an extensive boozy shake menu, and the service and atmosphere are always fabulous. If you’ve been there, I’m sure you love them as much as we do—if you haven’t, visit so you can love them too. SPIKE A CLASSIC—COLA OR ROOT BEER SODA, JAMESON, AND VANILLA ICE CREAM CRUELLA—VODKA, LEMON SODA, AND MINT AND CHIP ICE CREAM THE DUDE—VODKA ESPRESSO, SYRUP, KAHLUA, AND VANILLA ICE CREAM ESPRESSO MARTINI—VODKA, KAHLUA, AND ESPRESSO BEIGNETS—SERVED ALL DAY. BEIGNETS DUSTED WITH POWDERED SUGAR & ALL THREE DIPS CHOCOLATE, HONEY, OR HOUSEMADE FRUIT COMPOTE. PIMENTO CHEESE BALLS—DIPPING SAUCE. *NEW ITEM. Every libation is carefully thought out and crafted from the best ingredients—the espresso featured is not a flavored syrup. It’s brewed espresso. All of them were fantastic and delicious! The beignets were to die for, especially with all three dipping sauces—try them all! We were pretty full, but we’re happy to try a new menu item—Setareh Mirian-Delcambre brought out their new Pimento Cheese Balls, and oh my gosh—delicious. We will need to re-visit an order of those next time we visit. BIG thanks to all the staff that always makes our visits unique and special. Also, thank you, Sethareh, for your hospitality, the extra beignets, sauces, and the pimento cheese balls—you all rock!

This place was so good, I feel like I should go to every place I've ever given a five-star rating to and take one away! Holy moly everything was amazing! The tomatoes and other vegetables were among our favorites and I think the desserts stole the show. Can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious menu.

The restaurant offers an upscale dining experience, with exceptional food, service, and ambiance. My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day there and were thoroughly pleased. Furthermore, the prices are quite reasonable considering the high quality of the food and service.

My sister and I went to Vestal for the first time and really enjoyed it. We decided to splurge and order everything we wanted to try. We shared the caviar, charbroiled oysters, bread with feta butter, and spaghetti. My main dish was the U10 Shrimp which is a better, tastier and upscale version of shrimp and grits and I also had the potatoes on the side and they were super top notch. My sister had the lasagna and it is different, if you are looking for a super cheesy normal lasagna, this is not it, she had to ask for extra cheese after the dish was brought out which the server then gave her Parmesan. Lasagna is not bad, just different from traditional. Oysters were good like almost anywhere else you can get them, small plate spaghetti was very good and creamy. Caviar was great and it was our first time trying it, very mild flavor and does not taste like the sea as many like to explain for its taste. The bread is soft, delicious and not like any other bread you can get in this area. The feta butter is something you will want to bathe in. This is a very nice restaurant, do not let other people on other reviews saying it’s expensive at this restaurant veer you off to some mediocre restaurant nearby, you can have a delicious and decently priced meal here that will fill you up.

We love this restaurant, we have been there 6 times, every time our experience was great, food is delicious, presentation is great , service is top , and the decor is beautiful. Joseph is great, the ladies at the front are pleasant and beautiful , and the owner is very humble, always comes to say hi and check on his dinners. Can’t recommend this place enough

Awesome dinner in a nice restaurant with interesting cocktails and food. Service was on point, recognizing we had some time constraints and wiring hard to get us out by a certain time. All the food we tried was great. I had both the crawfish bisque and the reddish on a halfshell. I would happily order both again. We visit family in Lafayette and we were delighted when they recommended Vestal for our latest visit.

A perfect fusion of American classics and Louisiana dishes cooked over open wood-fueled flame , served up in a comfortable and modern concept. Came on recommendation from two different locals who said this was the best restaurant in Lafayette. We were not disappointed. Reservations were needed, but the hostess was able to accommodate us by the kitchen. It worked out GREAT. Was able to see the chef Sullivan and his crew perform their magic on each of the dishes. Every member of the staff was very friendly - from the hostess, servers, chef, our waiter Zach, and the general manager Aaron. Just get two orders of the Roasted Oysters to start. Trust me on this one. Even the Mac and Cheese was delicious! The creme brulee was delectably perfect. Get it! If cocktails are your jam, you won't be disappointed with the selection. My only gripe was that it was very loud on a Saturday at 7 PM. Felt like it was a night club. Made conversation challenging at times. If you need to change diapers, the unisex bathrooms will have accommodations for your baby. A thoughtful touch. Will definitely return if I ever come back to Lafayette.

Jess from the coffee + wine bar recommended us to try out Vestal after our latte and wine @ Carpe Diem... So glad we did! The aesthetic of the restaurant was stunning! Attire was casual to dolled up, which was nice as we didn't have a reservation or plans to have last minute bites here. The 4-star on the food was only on the Focaccia bread... it was soft but flavor was just slightly lack luster. The crab cake and meatballs + cocktails were on point! Molly our server was so great! She's got the most cheerful personality and loved her recommendations for food/drinks.

This was one of the best meals of 2025. Grear drinks enticing menu, service was thorough and knowledgeable but not overwhelming and just an overall great experience. Highly recommend for LFT.

Went for the first time last night. Service and food were great. Everything was served hot and seasoned well. We tried cocktails, appetizers, entrees and dessert. The portion sizes are small. Though we did enjoy everything we had, I’m not sure it’s worth the price we paid, $420 plus tip. My son was in charge and did order a lot of apps but still feel the prices are a bit high. This will be a special occasion place for us due to the cost.

First, this place is BEAUTIFUL! Such a gem to downtown Lafayette. Secondly, their food and drinks match the gorgeous interior. Everything is well thought out even down to the soap in the bathroom. We love to enjoy a meal here whenever we are in town from NOLA. Such a delight and spectacular service!

Every time I pass through, this Vestal is a must-stop. The staff truly do care–about their craft, each other, and the experiences of their guests. I'm truly surprised this spot hasn't (yet) received a nod from James Beard acknowledgements. If you're looking for upscale dining that's on the same level as top restaurants found in SF, LA, PDX, NYC–this is your spot. Simply put–Lafayette is lucky to have such an amazing restaurant.

We were so busy eating we totally forgot to take pictures of the food! The steak and the side of potatoes along with the mushrooms and lasagna were just amazing. The flavors were like nothing I've had at any local restaurant. I encourage you to sit at the bar and enjoy all the activity of the food preparation! A must see and place to visit!

Vestal in Lafayette combines cool, modern vibes with exceptional service. Our server Mallory went above and beyond, ensuring a fantastic experience. The standout dishes, the Tuna Crudo and Watermelon Salad, were both fresh and flavorfully inventive. Highly recommend Vestal for anyone looking to experience innovative southern dining at its best.

Vestal is an outstanding place! The wife and I went with three other couples and had a wonderful experience. Let's start with their in-house created cocktails, there is something for everyone and everyone I had was amazing. Now my recommendation if going with a group is order a bunch of different apps and small plates and share. Solid recommendations are Wagu Beef Tartar, chargrilled oysters, Blue point crab spaghetti, tuna and this will sound under rated but the bread and butter, delicious. I ordered the lasagna, amazing, house made pasta with beef cheeks, a highly underrated cut of beef. My wife ordered the pork-shank, it was delicious, a little awkward for a lady to eat, but still delicious. My buddy order the Wagu steak and gave me two slices to try, uhhhhh melt in your mouth delicious. The service is absolutely amazing. They are very well trained and very attentive, but not intrusive. The atmosphere is wonderful, but a little loud. Not a deal killer for me, but I'd sacrifice volume for the service, food and drinks. Enjoy!

Best steak in Lafayette. In fact, all of the food is amazing! The wedge salad is amazing. The steak was perfect! The duck fat potato’s are the best around. Cool vibe and great location. Service was good too.

The food was fantastic, it always is. And the cocktails completely on point. But what was really special was the attention to detail by the GM AARON BRINKMAN and our amazing server Mallory Payne. Can’t beat this crew and this experience.

I did not expect to find food like this in the downtown area, simply blown away. The shrimp and grits dish was honestly one of the best tasting things I've ever eaten, the greens matched it exquisitely. The spread of prayers were clean and well prepared but again, the shrimp entree was amazing. Highly recommend. No photos, I couldn't help but dig in.

K

1st a foremost service was great and cocktails are meticulously crafted and can leave you wondering “how’d they come up with that?” Spunky take on the boilermakers, only thing I didn’t care for is the desert old fashioned I ordered with desert came with crackled Ice cubes, should have been a fat rock as to not water down the whiskey. The food was killer, the roasted eggplant, tuna crudo, and filet mignon was perfectly presented and you couple taste the care take in preparation. Barataria beauty oysters on the half shell were to die for with fresh horse radish. I can’t say enough good things about the environment, the food, and the staff.

This place is an absolute gem. Our server Joseph is Amazing! He Loves what he does and it shows. He was very knowledgeable, funny, honest, and helpful. The decor takes you on a mini trip to Europe. From the stucco artwork on the walls to the terrazzo table tops, the design was on point. I definitely loved the fact you can see them preparing your food as well. The food was amazing and the staff was very nice. I absolutely recommend this place. 👌

We ordered a New York sour and Sounds of the Storm for our cocktails with the focaccia bread appetizer. Our entries were the New York Strip and the crab spaghetti. The dessert was the cheesecake. Everything was delicious and our server Daniel was fantastic! We would highly recommend Vestal.

Gorgeous restaurant with delicious food in a cool, downtown location. A fantastic menu with some delicious vegan options and creative cocktails. Do not miss this place in Lafayette!!

I've eaten here a few times, and every single time has been excellent. On my birthday, they coordinated with a friend of mine to have a bottle of champagne chilled and ready for my arrival. Our server was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. The caviar and beef tartare are my favorites, but I have never gone wrong ordering fish there. Their oysters never fail disappoint either. The ambiance is also amazing. I highly recommend, especially for a special occasion as the menu is rather pricey. But worth the money in my opinion!

E

Amazing experience. My girlfriend and I had gone to the Michelin star Commander's Palace restaurant in New Orleans the night before. Even though both are different styles, we thought the food was slightly better at Vestal. We tried several meals and everything was delicious and flavorful. The place itself was modern without being pretentious. Highly recommend to all.

C
Crystal LeJeune

Very impressed with food and the service! We have been here once for appetizer and drinks but came in for entrees tonight and it was exceptional! Our waiter Joseph has been phenomenal. From preparing us with the best cocktail selection as well as appetizers, his expertise on entrees was top notch. I highly recommend anyone visiting or living local to stop by Vestal Restaurant. Definitely 5 star! 😁

RUN, don’t walk, to Vestal! We booked reservations to celebrate a special occasion and Haley made the entire experience perfect. We were given 2 complimentary glasses of champagne and ended up buying the bottle because it was so good! We ordered the beef tartare, bone marrow, half a dozen oysters, and crème brûlée at the end. the quality of the food was 10/10. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night and I ended up spending less than what I projected. Highly recommend!

Vestal is so unique, especially in a small town like Lafayette. It has an open kitchen design with the cutest decor and seating with a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The drinks are amazing and the food was even better. It is very apparent that the menu has been crafted by someone with real culinary experience. From the plating to the flavor, everything about my dish was perfect. The servers are very friendly and you can really tell that they know the entire menu inside and out. If you want to know how something is cooked, where it is sourced, etc., they can give all of those details right off-hand. We even got to meet the executive chef who is also genuine and kind. It is obvious that this restaurant is very well-run. 10/10 recommend!

G

These folks are doing it so right. If you can afford it, go. Don't wait. Absolutely amazing.

J
Jordan Montag

Absolutely incredible. From the drink menu to dessert everything was top-notch. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate to get the watermelon salad. It was next level. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sides were outstanding. It honestly felt like I was in one of the nicer restaurants in a bigger city like Houston or New Orleans.

S
Samuel Frazier

My wife and I try to go here as often as we can for special occasions. The steak is AMAZING. They always have very fun, very tasty appetizers. My wife is a huge fan of their cocktails, she tries a new one every time we go. The atmosphere is amazing, the servers are friendly and attentive, and the food is A+. Highly recommend if you’re in the Lafayette area.

T
Trey Delcambre

The cocktails are always dialed in, very knowledgeable bar staff. The steaks, I find, are prepared with care and attention. I have never been disappointed or mislead by portions. The stars of the show often times are the share plates. The menu is well curated at a seasonal pace, suitable for any tastes that either want to adventure or keep it traditional. The staff is friendly and (this is rare) does a great job of identifying potential needs or accommodations before they arise. All of this translates to the atmosphere and attention to detail in its furnishings.

L
Lauren Levi

We celebrated a friend’s birthday here and everything from start to finish was top tier! We received the best service drank the coolest cocktails and tried things from both their seasonal and regular menu. Don’t miss the crab spaghetti! We definitely will be back.

J
Jacab Gibson

The vibe, the food, the cocktails — all masterfully curated and executed. Every detail feels intentional, from the lighting to the music to the plating. If you skip the raw oysters, beef tartare, crab cake (extra crab!), mussels, or any of the steaks, you’re missing out. Service is on another level — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. A standout experience from start to finish.

Vestal in Lafayette, Louisiana, is an absolute gem for those seeking an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you step in, the ambiance exudes a sultry sophistication—dim lighting, stylish decor, and an energy that feels both intimate and electric. The roasted oysters are nothing short of spectacular, delivering a bold, unforgettable flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Every bite is a testament to the kitchen’s craftsmanship. Beyond the incredible food, the service is top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who ensure every visit is seamless. Whether you're traveling along I-10 East or West, stopping at Vestal is a must.

E

We really enjoyed every part of our meal! Cocktails (Sonnet 45, Not for Everyone, Oxford Comma) were excellent. The Tuna Crudo and Roasted Oysters didn't disappoint. Pork Porterhouse was tasty with the sauce, mac & cheese was wonderful and the star of the show was a newer menu item: the Grilled Maitake Mushroom with sunflower butter. We'd go back just to order it again!

K
Kaitlin McCauley

Love love love this place! I know it's silly to say, but I've been thinking about their foccacia and whipped feta butter for days now. My husband and our friend got some of the cocktails, but I'm not much of a drinker so I opted for their sparkling lemonade which always hits just right. My harissa half chicken was huge, but oh so good!

This is one of my favorite spots in Lafayette! I recently spoke with Aaron, the manager, to compliment his incredible waitstaff. He’s an excellent host and genuinely personable. The food here never disappoints. I love coming here when I want something that tastes gourmet yet feels light and healthy. It's my go-to place for a great date night as well.

Best steak I ever had felt like I was in a movie it was so beautiful, kinda exclusive and high quality. The bone marrow plate was expensive for the little pay off for the marrow, and the bread used is VERY hard in texture. That's my only lil tid bit. Otherwise, marvelous steak. Can't wait to go again

C

Dycie (our server) and Cam (bartender) were both amazing and helped to make our experience as amazing as it was. The food was incredible and the restaurant is beautiful. It’s a pricier place but absolutely worth it! The happy hour was super reasonable and definitely a great way to get the experience for a lower cost. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be back

We were delighted to be able to get a reservation at the new upscale restaurant in Lafayette. It’s always great to see Downtown continuing to grow. We arrived for our table a couple of minutes early. We were sat at our table and provided water. We waited about ten minutes before our server made it to us and then were able to order appetizers and drinks. The drink menu is fun and has plenty of options. My partner and I would say, this is a restaurant where you go to treat yourself or if you’re just getting appetizers and drinks. We got the U10 Shrimp, Filet, and smashed potatoes. They were all great. We should mention we’ve never been to a place where we had to take the heads off the shrimp but we also haven’t been to many upscale places. Ha! Additionally, the filet was “a la carte”, so we did order a side. The music was a little loud so we couldn’t just whisper to each other. However, we got to sit at the table just over from the skylight so the lighting was incredible and the inside was gorgeous. This might not be a place for everyone, but it was definitely worth trying once! I would recommend checking it out if you’re able.

We went for my birthday celebration last night and, for the most part, enjoyed the night. We started the night drinks and the wood oven oysters. The oysters were so tender and tasty! Top 3 oysters I've ever eaten. I was disappointed they ran out of Parker rolls appetizer, but the waitress offered a few slices of toasted ciabatta and butter, which was delicious. The brisket lasagna had a pretty good flavor and perfect texture noodles, but I wish it would have come to the table hot instead of room temperature. The brisket and sauce ratio to the noodles and cheese sauce could have been distributed a little better. The tomahawk pork chop was spot on being so tender and juicy. The Mac and cheese was extra creamy, which we loved. The crawfish bisque has an acquired taste, especially with the sour note being so prevalent. I'm not sure which type of mushrooms we're for the appetizer, but they were very chewy and not tender. There was no real flavor with the either. I consider myself a tiramisu officienado, and it was one of the best I've had. It was all homemade down to the lady fingers and I could absolutely tell

Very nice restaurant. Food menu is great, however from a consumer perspective I can see why the menu was set that way. Roatesry chicken can either come in half or full portion. Being in the restaurant business for 18 years, I can assure you that putting a plate like this is not appealing. Half chicken is not worth $27. Presentation was great but it was still missing at least 2 sides to compliment the plate. Instead, side dishes are being charged separate from the main entrees which makes the price higher than value. Beet salad: one of my favorite dishes is the beet root salad. It was missing the zesty citrus taste. Pecans, Grapefruit, mango, oranges, are all options to be added to the plate that gives it more colors and better taste. The feta cheese was on the bottom of the plate which creates a missing taste for the salad as a whole. Creme Brulee: It was delicious, good job on that. Menu was full of different options but the vibe that I got from the restaurant is more of an Italian. I like the bar setting where you can see the fire in the background which gave the restaurant a cozy warm atmosphere. Ambience: Good job on the lighting, music in the background was lively. Restrooms: Clean and maintained. Service was excellent, waitress was super nice and attentive.

This was a pretty good experience. The food was good and the portions are huge. We got a few appetizers, drinks and shared an entree. The appetizers and entrees were both very good. They were also very good if you have a shellfish allergy. The service was excellent and our waiter made sure we were well taken care of. Their specialty cocktails were very good but I probably would not recommend going outside of the cocktail menu as the more traditional cocktails we ordered were just not as good. Overall a good experience and would definitely be happy to go back ago.

Vestal is more hype than anything. Service was very good. Food was different but tasty. The spinach/artichoke dip wasn't the best I've had but ok. The grilled oysters were yummy. I had the red snapper. the sauce was spicy. The entrees come with no sides so you have to add on for a minimum of $10/item. I skipped the sides. It was a nice dining experience but be prepared to pay. Drinks are expensive too.

Great atmosphere, wonderful food; a little loud. Cool downtown vibe! All menu items that we tried were awesome, the carrot cocktail was surprisingly delicious and refreshing. The open concept of the kitchen is neat to watch. We will be back!

No, it's not cheap. But this place isn't about price, it's about a culinary experience and ambience! THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! If the wagyu steak is available, it is worth the 3 figure price tag. Very knowledgeable staff and the bartenders work hard at making your experience noteworthy. With no reservations, I had to be seated at the bar, which is cool. The bar is just too tight and on the verge of being uncomfortable when I'm spending this kinda dough. Overall, a 4.8.

This was our second visit and we really enjoyed it, though first visit (2022) was more impressive. We ordered small veggie items and most were great. We should have tried the baba ghanoush instead of the roasted eggplant. It seems like a half eggplant is never going to get cooked enough in a short amount of time over a fire. Drinks were excellent though a special hot toddy would have been a great addition for a cold rainy evening. Will go back someday to try fish specials, they sounded tasty.

We came here for happy hour and as stated on previous reviews the cocktails are very well crafted. We enjoyed a dozen charbroiled oysters and half a dozen raw oysters. If you love charbroiled oysters, these are a must-try. The mignonette sauce for the raw oysters was a standout for me. We'll definitely be back.

I wanted to love this restuarant more. I found them to be adventurous but something was missing. The decor was super chic meets the Luke Skywalker's home planet. I'd say it's a fun little place to have a meal at with guarded expectations.

The food was terrific: imaginative presentation of local favorites. I had local oysters on halfshell, wedge salad, catch of the day (red snapper), and a donut bread pudding. All were excellently prepared. Atmosphere/seating needs some attention. The bar was very lively and loud. However, there was no excuse for serious non-drinking diners being seated in the bar, at a bar-size table, for this kind of meal. Loud and cramped is what I remember, as I recall the empty large tables to the left and right of our tiny table. And the many empty tables away from the bar. Suggestions that this was our first visit and perhaps we might be moved were ignored. It is a shame that I will remember the deficient atmosphere almost as clearly as the terrific cuisine. Do I want to risk this again? I am not sure. If you are ok with tiny tables and near-deafening noise, this is definitely your place for fine dining.

Well executed dishes, thoughtfully prepared, clean presentation. Service was moderately attentive, the server was polite and knowledgeable, bussing staff could improve on timeliness of takeaway. Pleasant upscale atmosphere. Pricing is on par with quality of dishes served. *Recommendation to hostess: Consider seating a party of 2 at a more comfortable table away from large boisterous parties when sufficient alternative seating is available. This would have improved our experience immeasurably.

Pretty cool spot, well executed fair. Cool vibe, open kitchen, inventive cocktails. I had the beer tartar and the Thai coconut mussels, the jasmine rice to soak up all the leftover juice was a nice thought.

Restaurant is very nice and pretty, slightly loud atmosphere, but I like that ;) servers are very friendly and nice. The food was not good imo, lacking in flavor.

We had a business dinner here, and these are my takeaways: Pros - Super personable waiter. Courteous, kind, and enthusiastic. The drinks were all outstanding. Meatballs and Duck Fat Potatoes were amazing. It was not too loud and the playlist was great. Cons: -None of the waiter's recommendations were really spot on. For example, I asked about the blackened butter for my steak, and he described it as literally spicy cayenne seasoning in butter. What we received looked like pimento cheese and tasted like limes. I hated it. I wish he hadn't steered me away from the bone marrow butter. He also was sort of so/so about the meatballs but they were the best thing we ate, by far. -My straw had a hole in the side of it and the waiter uncovered and rubbed the entire new straw to ensure it didn't have any holes in it... I would have preferred to do that myself vs having him touch my whole straw. -All of our steaks were overcooked. I asked for Med-Rare and got Med-Well, and my companions asked for Med and got Well. It took a while to get them, and we didn't want to send them back. -The grilled wedge was an 8/10 but almost too charred to enjoy. The charred flavor overwhelmed the palate and you couldn't taste the other components. -The asparagus, tuna app, focaccia bread, and Brussels were all mid. The asparagus was uninspired. The Tuna was cut unevenly and too thick. The focaccia was like $10 for plain bread and butter, it had none of the described toppings. The Brussels were a less enjoyable version of the grilled salad. -The curved ceiling was so distracting, and I wish I had been seated anywhere else in the restaurant. -The creme brule had too much hardened sugar on top, and the donut bread pudding was sickly sweet. $400+ later and I didn't feel we had a great steakhouse experience at all. I probably would not return and I wouldn't recommend it again.

Neat little experience. Drink selection was great, food was great, service was amazing, but way overpriced. It was very noisy, had to almost scream at the waiter for our orders, seating not comfortable, a wait for the bathroom bc only 2 gender neutral restrooms with only one toilet each, but they were clean. I saw they had Blantons bourbon and Clas Azul tequila... but i wasn't going to ask for a pour. We had the raw oysters that were A bit small, the sweet potato which was huge and amazing but sweet, the Ragu pasta with brisket was great and seemed to be "reasonably priced" the grilled redfish was great! But $48/redfish wow A bit much. $500 for 4 people with 3 bottles of wine. Our server (Cameron) was incredibly nice and attentive. He gave excellent recommendations on what to eat and pair foods with. We came here for a birthday and they DO NOT DO CANDLES on their desserts. Glad we came here bc they probably won't be around for long with these prices like all the other restaurants in the area, but i understand they have to do what they gotta do with this economy. I really wanted to try a ribeye but couldn't make myself pay $65 for a steak. Pretty sure i could have went to Ruth's for STEAKS for the same prices. But if you have $200-300 and want to blow it on you and a date, go for it!

The food was mid, I would not say it is the tastiest food I’ve ever had. The steak was really great, but the mac and cheese noodles were hard. Mallory was our waiter and she was not very attentive to our table. She walked right past our table every-time she went to check on her other parties. This was a very rude customer service experience and we expected great customer service at such a higher quality establishment, we were so disappointed.

A reservation was made and yet we were seated directly behind the hostess. A very unimpressive table. The restaurant is beautiful but we were seated barely passed the door. The music was well chosen. The cooked food was not served hot.The raw oysters were great. The cocktail menu was small. The rest of the menu had potential but the price did not match the experience.

I'm not looking to bring down their reviews but y'all need to know -- the To-Go Cocktails window is GENIUS. BUT those cocktails were some of the nastiest in Lafayette. My girls and I were walking past and got three different drinks (roughly $16 each) and we all hated them. The Easily Amused was by far the worst -- but they were all INCREDIBLY strong, like drinking a triple shot with a hint of added flavor.

For this review I'm comparing to the closest local equivalent I've been to, Charley G's. Different vibe entirely but similar fine dining menu. Atmosphere is MUCH better. Service is not as guest-focused. Food is not as good. Crowd skews younger. Prices are higher. There is an upcharge for every. little. thing. ($7 lemonade, $9 💅*strawberry* lemonade) Food really didn't align with price point for me. $46 for a piece of red snapper that doesn't come with any sides. $8 extra for sauce that was good (and it needed in my opinion). At least plate it with something by default if it's going to cost that much. Didn't really love the sides we got. Lions mane ($16) and fingerling potatoes ($14, very garlicky, cut into the size of nickels, strangely enough) were served in a similar way, both very salty, rich, and covered in cheese. Nothing nuanced about these two dishes. White fish ceviche left something to be desired. Ingredients list mezcal, citrus, and pomegranate. The liquid was pink but there was no pomegranate integrated with the fish. Fish itself was a little bland. Could have been interesting with pieces of pomegranate mixed in. Comes with too few saltine crackers. Would not get again. I would consider going back for the roasted oysters and tiramisu. TL;DR: Very Instagram-able. Very expensive. Value for price, not great.

Food was good! Service was great! Wine was WONDERFUL! Very friendly staff! Atmosphere was on point. They only reason I did not leave 5 stars is the bathroom situation. They have the ANY and ALL and as a 45 year old woman, I do not want to use a restroom where the toilet seat is left up and it has urine on it. Sorry, that is a no go for me. His and Hers has a place in the restroom world! 100%...

Not a bad place to eat, but just not our cup of tea. Would suggest ice in the water when first getting to the table. Portions were decently sized. Wife got the 6 oz steak which was cooked perfectly. I got the half shell redfish which was great but way too spicy. The caesar salad was good but spicy as well. (Maybe the anchovy dressing?) The duck fat fingerling potatoes stole the show. Best potatoes I've ever had, hands down.

Raw Oysters and duck fat potatoes were excellent, both the whole fish and red snapper weren’t prepared to my likings. The whole fish was over done and soaked in butter on plate. It was worth trying but not a place I would visit regularly. Food and service was average to below average however the location and parking were convenient

This was a very loud and disappointing experience. Price point is extremely high for the service and quality provided. Medium rare tenderloin was more well done, lump crab add on was dry and we ordered a $14 ceaser salad but received a mixed field greens salad with ceaser dressing and croutons. The fingerling potatoes were the star of the show... Restrooms are unisex, personally I feel this is wrong for my wife or any woman to deal with. I suppose for drinks and tapas this may be a decent place but overall, not impressed, and will not return...

I chose to have my bday dinner here, huge mistake. I order the whole fish, fish was cook really good but I couldn't enjoy it because the sauce and extras made my food disgusting . The fish was drowned in a SALTY Soy sauce, then they added capers (more salt) and green olives (even more salt) my friend had the crab spaghetti which had no taste no salt i guess they use the all the salt on my dish.

This was our 2nd time eating here. The 1st time we went was with another couple and it was great. It had just opened. So we decided to go and celebrate our daughter's 18th bday. The food was ok. The best thing was the whole fish and raw oysters. Everything else was ok. When we made reservations it asked for the reason and we stated it was to celebrate her bday but they didn't do anything special for her. When we asked, they just looked at us puzzled and said we don't do that. Weird.

I was so excited about this place initially however I left feeling really underwhelmed and disappointed. Good points: staff really kind and courteous, good cocktails, atmosphere, dessert was innovative and great. Now the real deal the quality of the food was not in line with the price point. Menu on website is not the current menu. Steak (filet) ordered medium served medium well to almost well it was dry. The crab pasta lacked flavored, salt and the yuzu that is mentioned on menu is non existent. Oysters were salty. The whole menu hints a Cajun with a Asian flare. Which means strong flavors. I couldn’t taste any Asian flare. I’m sorry to say but I wouldn’t recommend for dinner. Drinks and dessert is the only way I would go back.

Overall, a very disappointing visit. From the beginning, the host took one look at my family and decided to walk us passed a number of open tables to the table in the very back of the restaurant next to the restrooms. One thing was different between my family and the rest of the customers in the restaurant: we're black. After being hidden in the back of the restaurant, the nervous but knowledgeable server noted the discounted items on the menu. Even though an appetizer was ordered, the server decided that it should come at the same time as the main course because we ordered all of our food at the same time and avoided our table as much as possible after being asked about a seemingly delayed appetizer. The saving grace at this place was that the food was good. I will not return to this restaurant and will not recommend it to anyone I know.

I took my wife here for her birthday. We started with a couple of cocktails, a plate of roasted oysters, and the bone marrow on toast. The bone marrow was an interesting experience, the cocktails were great, and the oysters were fine (though we've had better at other local restaurants). For dinner we ordered the crab spaghetti with potato fingerlings and the braised short ribs over potato mash with a side of macaroni. The crab spaghetti had absolutely no flavor (I've had spaghetti aglio e olio with more bite) and the potatoes were overcooked. My wife's short ribs had the texture but not the taste of well cooked beef (again, very bland), and she did not touch her macaroni (she claimed they smelt off, though that might be the pregnancy). I'd expect better seasoning given the restaurant is located in central Acadiana, but I'd have settled for only salt and pepper - sadly, even that didn't seem to be included in our $250 order. We both agreed to skip dessert. I've heard from multiple people that this is one of the best restaurants in the area, and both the atmosphere and service (A+, front of house staff were excellent) led me to believe that'd be the case. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. I've had better meals at local truck stops and gas stations for 1/10th of the price.

This was a high-priced, mediocre meal. Service was fair, but slacked off towards the end of our visit. The space is small and kind of cramped. I likely will not return.

My daughter took me to brunch for Mother’s Day. Ambience , FOOD, waiter was AMAZING! VERY DISAPPOINTED in GM AARON BRINKMAN! He did NOT acknowledge my daughter or myself. I noticed on TWO occasions he asked the table on each side(BOTH white)of us how their food was, and even gave recommendations to the other side of the table, however, my daughter myself sat in between the two tables and not once did he approach us, look at us OR ask HOW our food was!!!!!

I am one who never complains. However I can honestly say that we were highly disappointed. The cocktail and the service was probably the best thing we had. The tuna was very sour tasting and if you know how raw tuna should taste its not that way. My husband had the NY strip, that had more fat and gristle on it than he could even enjoy sadly at $55. The corn and mushrooms had some type of gelatin in it that was very dense. Our check was $247, and we ended up eating pancakes at Mel's diner 🤦🏻‍♀️.

WORST SERVICE EVER: Waitress spill drink and full jar of water on me. The waiter did not take all the orders so we needed to go and look for the waiter for the order. I order a steak with sides and just got the steak with no sides, never get my sides. Some of my friends share their sides with me. I needed to ask for glass of water because never bring me water and at the end they charge me for everything including 20% tip for the worse service ever. I got there around 6:30 PM and about 5 min after was when I was soak and wet. We spoke with the manager and the only think I got was an apology. Food is VERY expensive too. Food is good but not great. My cloth was still wet when I got home at 10:00 PM. First time and LAST time I will ever go to that restaurant.
