We had an excellent time here on our Maui vacation. The owner was very sweet and attentive and the food was some of the best we’ve ever had on Maui, and the view was absolutely stunning. One minor complaint we have (which has nothing to do with the restaurant) is that the parking structure that we had to use to get here was really small. By that I mean the spaces themselves are all made for compact cars only and if you’re not driving one yourself, you’ll likely find yourself spending forever trying to park inside one of these spaces. Shoutout to Tammy and her friends who helped us park here on 11/10/2024 at 5 PM Hawaiian Time.
Don’t let some bad reviews dissuade you. This place was great. We had dinner here and our server was Cord (I believe that’s what he said) and he was very friendly, attentive and did an excellent job. The drinks were tasty (Longhis lemonade and Mai Tai) and our app and entrees were delicious (shashimi bruschetta, Longhis style fish and clams linguine). The star of the show may have been the Mac Nut pie. Also, the live music and view of the sunset was amazing! All around a great dinner.
We enjoyed our Sunday brunch. Friendly service. Beautiful views and great location for people watching. Try the zucchini spears. Hot and crunchy! Great burger cooked to medium rare perfection. The cheddar cheese oozed out and the pickle slices on the side added a lovely crunch. My husband enjoyed his grilled chicken burger. Large portions.
My MIL sends back more dishes than I have seen her eat so when she recommended Longhis I couldn’t wait to try it! The location is spectacular, the staff went above and beyond (very attentive with the kids big plus) and the food exceeded expectations! I loved the variety of appetizers, the steak on the kids menu cooked perfectly, I loved the fresh fish longhi, my husband said he could live off the shrimp, and the desserts I highly recommend you save some room for. We had a large group and got to sample pineapple upside cakes, chocolate cakes, tiramisu, all deliciously memorable. Although for me an expresso martini was the perfect after dinner treat. The cocktails will be something this mamma will miss the most😉. I had to post this review so as many people can enjoy the same experiences we did🌺
We’ve been coming here for years. Gerry was great and so was Ivan. No complaints on service. The food was good but prices were a bit high. I guess you are paying for convenience since we stayed at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club. And the view, of course!
We had excellent service and a delicious meal at Longhi’s. Dining Sunday night around 6:00 we were seated immediately. Beautiful, comfortable outdoor dining.
Good italian food. Portions were slightly smaller than expected. The restaurant is right on the beach and connected to a hotel.
Absolutely one of my favorite spot in Maui. The ambiance was so relaxing & chill. You can see the ocean from any table you sit @ and see the sunset. Perfect spot for breakfast , brunch or dinner. Wish they were opened all day but closes from 2-4pm & because we were on a time crunch when I wanted to go back for 2nd’s they were closed! My sister, niece & I ordered Prawns Venice plate & the Shrimp Longhi…cannot tell you which was my favorite but I will say I was longing for more! Highly recommend this spot. You will absolutely enjoy it.
The location is amazing, it's next to the beach so you can hear the waves crash and see the sunset as you dine. The ambiance was great too, the tiki torches were lit and each table has a battery operated light so you can see after the sun sets. Our waitress was awesome, she was attentive, fun, and helped out kids navigate the menu. The food was good, we each ordered a different fish and everyone was happy.
Longhi’s is a wonderful oceanfront Italian restaurant with Hawaiian inspired dishes. I had the Longhi Longhi salad (Caesar-like), the Sicilian cauliflower, and the Prawns Venice. You can catch the sunset right from your table. The restaurant has easy access from any of the resorts on Ka’anapali as it is right of the beach walk.
Best to get a seaside table for the sunset, the food is delicious, calamari big cuts and super tender, Ahi tuna is melt in your mouth with fantastic mushroom butter sauce, seafood hot pot excellent but hard to want if your still warm from the beach, cocktails very good and dessert good if you have room!
I had the Lobster Eggs Benedict. It was the most amazing meal I’ve ever had. I know it seems sensational, the flavors and texture combination, the sweetness from lobster, the fat from yoke and hollandaise, the hint of acidity, the subtle saltiness from seafood, and crisp bread it was an immediate release if dopamine and I gobbled nearly uncontrollably. When fasting this is the meal I dream of, this is the meal I hope to never forget.
First time and the Lahinia location and it is possibly more wonderful than the Wailea location. The mango mojito is to die for!!! We will be recreating this cocktail at home all summer long. The mushrooms in wine and herbs was a delightful way to start off the meal. Chicken parmesan marsala and fresh fish of the day in a white wine and Maui basil reduction, both served with gnocchi. There were no leftovers to be packed up, both entrées were scrumptious! I love a well done chocolate soufflé and this was better than I have had in quite some time. 10s! 10s! 10s! across the board!
Friendly staff. Good food. Nice view. Ended up coming here three times. Breakfast was wonderful. Had their steak for dinner. Excellent. Will definitely come again if I'm in the area.
The best Chicken Piccata we have ever had !! My daughter’s Eggplant Parmigiana was excellent as well. They have their own in house baker who’s desserts are amazing including the Focaccia bread … best we’ve ever had. Cocktail menu was delicious.. pain killer Our server was wonderful. Best meal on Hawaii in 2 weeks
The history of this place is adorable. the artichoke is drenched in amazing flavor. big bathrooms. a long and fun walk from/to the parking lot. the Longhis still manage the restaurant. we all were charmed by our server and all the service.
Wow! Thse location and the food was fabulous! Great Chicken Marsalis and mashed potatoes. The sauce was out of the world! There were three options but we went with the traditional way. The Old Fashion was very good. The view was amazing of the Pacific Ocean! Great service and good bread.
This is a great hotel restaurant with very good breakfast options. The view is fantastic, especially at sunset. The dinner menu is not very extensive, but you can find good options.
Genuinely one of the best meals we had our entire time in Maui! Absolutely loved every single thing we got for dinner appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Would absolutely go again. We did not eat here for breakfast or lunch but the dinner we had was fantastic!
Picture this: NYE and every table is full. There's only 3 waitresses, and a party of 20. TRobin let us know ahead of time and she still rocked dinner service. The food was delicious too. Loved the asparagus the most :)
Excellent service. As for the holidays, I give them 5 stars for their efforts. I give all workers credit for their hard work especially for being short staffed. Some appreciation (and raises) would help with that for many kitchen establishments. Food was good considering the holiday rush.
We have eaten here a few times over the years, but tonight was by far the very best! Great wine choices, friendly helpful waiter, awesome Mahi Mahi and dessert to die for! All in all, a must visit!!
We enjoyed our dinner here with great food & service! Was a little hard to find from Google Maps but luckily someone from the parking lot showed us the way!
We went at 530 asking for a table for 2 with no reservation. The host acted like he bit a bitter lemon but seated us grudgingly. After that the waitress was fantastic and the food was good.
Tim is by far the best bartender we have ever had. I have been coming to the Marriott for 22 years, and Tim’s service is exceptional and makes us feel like this is truly our home away from home. This place would not have a 5-star review without him. If Tim is working the bar, request him. The rigatoni bolognese, the lava cake, and the calamari are good as well, but I wanted to take the time to give Tim a well-deserved shout out. This restaurant would not be the same without him.
Long time (20+ years) Longhi’s fan. First time at this location as its newer. Not quite the same Longhi’s but still good. The artichoke appetizer is to-die for. Drinks are made well and have healthy pours. Vegetables are generous portions, as well, and prepared well. Outside atmosphere is quite nice but early dinners can be a bit noisy if a lot of kids are walking around on the nearby beach-walk trail.
Hi Mixed feeling Breakfast with Mario was excellent However dinner time was a strange affair with a rude interaction with a waiter, then asked to pay up, although we were guests at the resort, citing someone had left without paying up implying we would do the same. Poor experience. This gentleman needs to learn
This place was my son’s pick and we were prepared to “pay for the view less about the food”, so we were not disappointed…. I had the NY Steak it was actually juicy, we also had clam linguine, veal masala and generally their portions were appropriate for their price but the taste could be better. We had the lava cake and tiramisu as deserts now the deserts really were on the bland side, too sweet for our taste. Otherwise we enjoyed the conversation in moonlit breezy ocean front ambiance, and the service was very attentive. But agreed I am not dying to be back to this place for the next couple of days while we are in Maui.
Recommendation: NO! On arrival the table was dirty with food. Noone had bothered to clean it until I asked. Food: I ordered the filet mignon. Who in the world cuts this nice piece of meat before serving when all the juices have already seeped out by the time it arrives at the table..cold! see the photo. This was by far the most unsatisfying steak I've ever had.. No silverware or napkins when the food was served, until I asked... Bizarre!!! The server, however, was a nice person. Reading other reviews, my sense is that what this place needs is a new manager.
Absolutely disappointed in the dessert choices. First off, NONE of the desserts listed on the menu were available and waitress stated"I don't even know why they still have those on the menu we haven't had any of those in a while." Whats worse was the choices that replaced those desserts: 3 choices of subpar chocolate desserts equivalent to a rainforest cafe, unpalatable red velvet atrocity, sorbet, and a raspberry cheesecake. Its as if a 12 year old decided the dessert menu. And the sad part is the previous desserts were on point with the island vibe. I can understand one or two desserts changing but an entire section on the menu? If that is the case spend the money to either change out the page or at the very least tape over the section. What is worse is that the online option is also not updated. At the prices they charge, subpar food taste and lack of attention to detail, we will not be coming back.
We ate here for breakfast and it was okay. Our server was amazing but the food was just okay. The menu is a la carte. I ordered the egg white scramble and this is all I got. The portions were pretty small and it is fairly expensive to eat here. The eggs were not seasoned at all. I also ordered their house potatoes and it tasted like they just cut up the potatoes and fried them. They were not seasoned either. Too much money for an okay experience.
Great location! Good service! The food was bland. The steak had no taste to it and was the poorest quality steak I have ever received in a restaurant. It was full of gristle. And that is disturbing for what you pay for a 7 oz. steak.
Very disappointing experience. My girlfriend ordered Linguini with Clams. Her favorite. It was completely without taste, borderline insipid. It would be disappointing at $25 let alone $40. I had Rigatoni Bolognese and it was also very average. These guys need a better chef. They are the only game in town when it comes to Italian food and clearly they are exploiting that fact. Credit to our great waiter Thomas. When we told him about the linguine/clams he got us a free desert and coffee. Desert was excellent but the coffee has been on the heater too long and was burnt. $200 total for a meal we could have got a much better version of for $100 in Denver. We understand that Islands are more expensive as are resort area eateries but this was not worth the money at half the price. Won’t be going back.
Our meal at Lonhi’s was a real disappointment. The service was fine, and it’s located at a beautiful spot, but the food was just flavorless. We ordered (2) appetizers and (3) entrees, which all looked nice but unfortunately we didn’t enjoy any of it. I also struggled to taste any alcohol in my cocktail. The best part of the meal was the complimentary bread and salted butter. I hope that we caught them on an off night but I really don’t see us going back especially at their prices.
Bummed. I was wondering why on a Friday night this place had no wait. First, let me say the atmosphere and the views from here are incredible. Exactly what you’d expect from ocean front dining. Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The water was noticeably straight tap water, which should have served as warning. The waitress was friendly, but slow. She seemed overwhelmed. I had a shrimp dish that when served resembled 4-5 pieces of mid sized shrimp served over a wet piece of toast, with lemon butter melted over the top. Very small and not the best taste given the price. Daughter’s steak was dry and fries were cold. My wife had the chicken piccata, which was good but looked about as good as what you would expect from a chain restaurant. Was hoping for better for our last meal in Maui. I’d recommend walking down the beach to Whalers Village and eating at one of the other places within walking distance sadly 😢
I paid $52 tonight for the worst veal piccata I’ve ever had!!! And when my husband asked for a little extra dressing for his $18 salad, they charged him an extra $2! On an island with many good restaurants, this one certainly didn’t measure up…..
We decided to go here again this year because it is easy to get to being at the Marriott and it raining that night. However, they take reservations and was really easy to get in even though it was in an hour. First clue that this place wasn't good is that no one else was going. Next, they don't serve Pepsi or Coke products. It's there own type of those drinks. A couple people at our table had something similar to Sprite, but it wasn't bad tasting. I decided to not even attempt to try something similar to Diet Coke, which is my favorite drink. Another lady in our party loves Chardonnay and tries the two drinks that had and she didn't enjoy either. She loves having one with her meal at the other places we frequent. On to the food... One of the guys in our party order Jumbo prawns in butter sauce. It came with rice as a side. The prawns came, but they were definitely just shrimp. Regular sized shrimp. The side of rice was just that, a one scoop side of plain, boring rice. It was pretty sad. I had steak and my girlfriend had chicken. The meat was good and flavorful, but our side of mashed potatoes as sad. We both felt like they came straight from a box. There wasn't anything on them such as garlic or butter to help with flavor. I added salt and pepper to mine to give it something more. All in all, we have had so many better experiences at other restaurants, Leilani's on the Beach, Hula Grill, and Kalei's. The food trucks inside the Cannery Mall looked good too, although I haven't eaten there so I haven't written reviews. I would say, if you're going fancy and paying quite a bit per plate, you deserve a meal that tastes amazing and should be considered an amazing experience when you leave. Don't go to Longhi's! They MUST do better than what they are currently doing.
Prices are high, but the quality and overall customer experience do not match. We had an 8:00 PM reservation, yet our table wasn’t ready until 8:15. That in itself was fine, but several four-top tables were visibly available, and the dismissive “you can wait” attitude when we asked about the delay set the tone for the evening. Bread was never offered and only arrived after we requested it near the end of the meal. The food was acceptable, but significantly overpriced for the quality. The server was professional and attentive—easily the strongest part of the experience—but unfortunately, that alone didn’t make up for the rest.
We came here as a table of 15 with a reservation made weeks in advance, and this was supposed to be our nicest dinner on our last night. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet we were ignored, and the service was disorganized and incompetent. When the food finally arrived, it was COLD, and for how WAY overpriced everything was, that’s completely unacceptable. This should have been an easy, enjoyable experience and instead it completely missed the mark. We will not be returning and would not recommend this place—especially for groups or special occasions.
Had a late breakfast, before playing golf across the street, around 10:15 - service was subpar and extremely slow. Wasn’t very busy but only 1 waitress who was very rushed and distracted. Lots of great views from outside seating but tables and chairs need updating. Grounds are beautiful and the sound of ocean waves made the experience much more enjoyable. Food was good.
My wife and I were visiting Maui and choose to have Saturday breakfast at LONGHI'S LAHAINA. This was a mistake! We should have paid attention to its mediocre ratings. We ordered our coffees and a fruit bowl, then on the server's second visit added Eggs and Ham for me, and a Plantation Pancake with extra egg for my wife. Our coffees came right away. But our food seemed to be taking a long time - we noticed other folks who came after us were already being served their breakfasts. We complained to another server, and we quickly got our eggs, ham, and pancakes. But what about our fruit bowl? Our server apologized, and took away my ham and eggs (so it wouldn't get cold). After another long wait, a different server came by and asked - Did you order a fruit bowl? Yes, so she set it on our table. Then, I said: What about my ham and eggs? The server said: I have no idea. Huh? While he went searching for my breakfast, the gentleman in the next table said: This is Ridiculous! I haven't even gotten my coffee yet! Well, when all the food was delivered, it was pretty good - but now we had to hurry to make sure we didn't overrun our parking time. Not a pleasant experience at all. The Manager Sean apologized for the poor service, and gave us a 20% discount – then he said: "I can't let a Bad Day upset me!" (Really??? The Manager doesn't care about the quality of his service??). NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.
If you are going to claim “World Famous Eggs Benedict” on menu, don’t serve it with horrendously poached eggs. Then when asked for a new set of eggs, don’t serve them in a ramekin with the vinegar cooking water undrained and the eggs way undercooked (raw whites). We also had to flag down another waiter because ours was nowhere to be seen near our table once he got our order. Unfortunately this place just isn’t worth it. Experience with eggs aside, $6 milks for the kids ($7 for chocolate milk), and a “chocolate chip” pancake that’s just a pancake with a small pile of chocolate chips on top. Not even good chocolate chips either, seized up when we tried to spread the semi-melted chips. There are better options within only a few minutes walk (Hula Grill, Monkeypod, just to name a few!). Nothing about this place demonstrates care or customer-focused experience decisions. Just the “beach side money grab”.
One star for location. Superb location. Now the rest. 1. Service was horrible. We were seated right away however, we didn’t get waters for 20 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because there was only one waitress. Not her fault but she had horrible service. 2. Food was sub par. When the food finally arrived, almost 60 minutes after we were seated, it was dry and over cooked. My wife and I got eggs Benedict, one spinach and one classic. One of them the eggs where almost well done and both of them the sauce was clumpy. See the video. The kids pancakes were dry. For a hungry kid to complain about pancakes, you know it’s bad. 3. The order was wrong. Items were missing, such as one of my kids orange juice. We asked for chocolate chips on the side but that simple request didn’t go through. Finally we returned the Benedict and had to correct the check to remove the extra orange juice. So disappointing. We came here specifically to have a beautiful breakfast and experience at a nice restaurant. I understand it wasn’t fully the waitresses fault. The place is clearly poorly managed. Not what I expect from a beachfront pricy restaurant.
Well, the cauliflower and the view were great! Too bad we waited almost 2 hours and never got dinner.
I made a reservation a long time ago for my large group of 13. When we arrived at our designated time, the Table was not ready. The service was absolutely horrible. We were there at least 45 minutes before the waiter ever took our order. The food was Marginal at best. The salad was a bag salad. Their signature dish of island macadamia nut crusted fish, which was mahi-mahi, was very dry. I would not recommend this restaurant
HORRIBLE! We waited over 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. We had to ask for our server. Supposedly, she was too busy so manager came to help. He was rude! He didn't want to take our order. We had to continue to ask for water. We waited 90 minutes for our food. The food was very basic, not worth the money.
Not impressed. Had to ask for bread and water refills. Waitress was nice but hardly ever saw her. Prices are absolutely too high for what you get at this restaurant. The service was the most disappointing thing here with food being a close second. Do not recommend. Sorry.
Let this be your warning - do not come here. I have worked in the service industry for years and I have never had such a terrible experience. I am always gracious of circumstances but our Christmas Eve dinner here was a dinner from hell. We waited 20min to be sat and 30min for a server to come. After we placed our drink AND food order, we waited 30min for our drinks followed another HOUR for our food to come. Meanwhile, no server/manager came by to let us know about wait times for food or check in about quality of meals. Food sucked and drinks were so mid. After everything - no apologies and a nasty meal. Hope this helps and I hope if you do go - it’s better than this. Godspeed.
Where do I start, 10/10 would not recommend. Servers were horrible. If a sizzler steakhouse had an ugly step child that was beat in an alley that had an Italian accent. That’s what Longhi’s is. Water had floaters, drinks came after appetizers, wait times to order was asinine. Chocolate lava cake was the only thing worth noting. Horrible job. Will not come back
Only nice thing I have to say is that the view is very pretty. Other than that, the service was abysmal the staff here either have no training at all or just don’t care. Took 20 minutes for our first drink order after being seated and another 10 after that before anyone asked if we wanted appetizers. It was not extremely busy or anything it just seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. When we did receive the food it was cold and had little flavor. One of the people in our group didn’t receive what they ordered and the server did not even stop by for 10+ minutes to check that she had gotten her food. Mistakes in the service industry are common and understandable but this was beyond that. Far too expensive for what the experience is. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere unless changes are made unfortunately.
