De Licia's is a well-loved Italian restaurant known for its delicious food, large portions, and friendly service. The meatballs, chicken marsala, and eggplant parmesan sandwich are highly recommended. It's a great spot for families and groups.
Tip: Be prepared for large portions, consider sharing a dish or taking leftovers home. Happy hour deals are available all day.

First time back in a number of months after the holidays. The first noticeable change was the sports bar entry had been walled off! This was a nice option to the restaurant but is now a dark empty space next door awaiting something... The restaurant is still hopping and the meals are hearty and filling. We often split a salad and entree, which is plenty of food for dinner. Our Server was John and was very attentive and knows menu options. Started with the House Salad and bread for an appetizer. Then we split the Shrimp Parmigiana with red wine reduction sauce; the go-to sauce for parmigiana. There's an odd number of shrimp, so you need to half it or roshambo. There are sports playing on the screens throughout the restaurant and nic background music setting some ambiance. Prices are reasonable and the frequent diner club is worth looking into. We were back for a celebratory meal. Parking can be challenging, depending on the time and day you visit.
Been going here for years, since the days when it was still Peppino’s. Still excellent food coupled with outstanding fast, friendly service. It’s our go to to watch games during the NFL season as they have the great food from the main kitchen coupled with ample TVs. Each TV is clearly marked with what game will be shown on it which makes picking a table easy. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and excellent service. Detailed menu with variety of excellent dishes. Large restaurant with room between tables.
This was our second visit for dinner, this time I brought my family… Exceptional service with many great options on the menu. Well staffed both front and back of house to provide drinks and food to our large party of 6 adults and one child. Talked with the owner at our table and discussed our shared Italian surname and family history. My daughter wanted to purchase a De Lucia t-shirt, but the owner gave it to her! Thank you so much! 🍆🍅🥖🍷🍝🥗
Super excited about this restaurant! The new updated decor is a welcome change, the place is clean and the service is awesome! The entire staff is super warm and friendly. But the food….it’s fantastic!! The bread basket is yummy and includes focaccia. We all wanted seconds. My husband had the chicken parmigiana and loved it. Our kiddos that are picky eaters were both happy with their meals. I had the rigatoni allá Gina which is a must try if you’ve never been to this place! Not your basic pasta; just trust me, you need to order it as it will not disappoint! I heard the eggplant is great here so I’m for sure looking forward to that one on our next visit!
Really flavorful Italian food. I had the mushroom marinara pasta, my friend had chicken cacciotore and there were four others with us - I don't remember exactly what everyone had but we were all very impressed with the flavors and the presentation. Service was excellent. I will return there many times!
I've now been to DeLucia's 3 times and I've enjoyed everything I've had. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. I definitely recommend for a nice meal.
The restaurant was not overcrowded, our server was delightful. The menu offered a wide variety of selections and the servings were generous, and beyonddelicious. Average cost, especially considering the quality and quantity of our meals.
Had a great dinner and drinks tonight here with our family. Service by Liv was outstanding and the manager Jeff took awesome care of us. Highly recommend!
Went with the family for a Friday night dinner. The wait was short even though the place was hopping! The menu has so much to choose from that I had the server recommend a dish or two. I was not disappointed with my meal. Large portions and food was amazing!
Nice music in the background, good portion food, warm and tasty bread.
Staff is attentive, friendly, quick. Food is great and hot. I got the Rigatoni ALLA Gina. One of the waiters recommended it, and it was on point. Manhattan drink was also made well.
This place is a sleeper for pizza and sports. A nice italian restaurant with great authentic italian options, friendly service, and a nice happy hour menu daily. On that happy hour menu they include a cheese pizza with toppings available- I got a cheese pizza with basil added after the cook, and a side of grilled chicken. All was delicious. The crust is chewy and thin and perfectly salted. New York style in an unexpected place. I’ve had their calamari a few times and probably 8 or 10 pizzas and it never disappoints. Live music and good TV coverage of sports makes this a great spot.
The Rigatoni Alla Gina eggplant pasta dish is to die for. Best Italian restaurant in OC for sure.
Best manicotti! Taste like what my mom used to cook, who was an excellent cook! Their sauce is the best!
Good afternoon. Went to DeLucia's a few times while I was out in the Irvine area. Great food, selection and service. Live music was not overpowering, and made for some great vibe both weeks I was there for it. Servers and bar staff were great. I used to go here years ago when I'd visit Irvine, and have to say, this experience, food quality and service, etc. were better than those years ago. I will definitely go back when am in the Irvine area again. Thanks y'all!
Fantastic restaurant! Great food and service with a large menu. My wife loves Italian and I eat low carb but it was no problem with the menu. Really good ribeye and NY strip in the menu. Try the meatball or sausage appetizer, they are really good.
We had salads, soup and Lasagne with meat sauce! Wow Huge amounts and great bread served with and before our meal. We loved our waiter … He was constantly checking to make sure we were all getting whatever needed. Great servers, helpers and enjoyed our first time there! Also the shrimp Parmesan looked amazing! We will be back !
We ordered the eggplant parmigian and the angel hair with meat sauce. The food was delivered to us and it was exceptional!!😍 The bread was warm and beyond yummy! Thank you for such exceptional food. We will definitely order again!
Monthly dinner with adult son. Waiting for him the aroma was FANTASTIC and the food tasted just as good❤️
Amazing place! This restaurant felt like home! Very highly reccomend. Save room for dessert. 😀
Good food. Excellent service.
Incredible staff. Best Italian food and salads in town. Such lovely people !
What an unexpected delight! This warm and cozy restaurant tucked into a shopping center competes with some of the finest Italian restaurants I’ve had (and I’m from Chicago!) Most wonderful was the friendly and efficient service. In today’s world of frequently abrupt, often rude and lackadaisical service, the staff here shines bright. The young man at the hostess stand was friendly and welcoming, and offered options for seating, including advising me of all day happy hour in the bar! He was even thoughtful enough to ask about my obviously injured knee. My waiter was obliging and helpful with my request to try wines and spoke with confident authority when I asked for his recommendations. Best of all? The food was delicious and plentiful portions - especially for the price! Highly recommended this little gem!
Great place & we love the food!! We know many of the staff & they always fabulous!! Unfortunately in the bar requested items, ordered item seem to be forgotten all too often. One of our favorite places to dine & always great to see familiar faces too!!
Good home cooking feel. Great Italian restaurant with consistent great service and nicely prepared food. LARGE portions so my wife and I always share.
5 stats across the board! Rarely will you get the experience we received here. We were greeted at the door by Jeff, who was dressed to the 9s and whose manners and composure is something I've only experienced in really fine dining. (dress codes and entrees $100+) the atmosphere inside is contemporary and extremely clean inside and the food is also on the same level. You will think you are eating in Beverly Hills or Malibu here. Jeff saw us getting up and slowly made his way to the door to get it for us on the way out. Thanks for going above and beyond, we felt like VIPs
Love this place was the first time going there in my opinion is the best place to go for Italian food and authentic. The menu is so big. It is hard to choose on all the good stuff is awesome. The owner mingle with the crowd and talks with you can’t say it again must go great place to eat.
Good food. Some good Happy hour deals. Nice bar area and restaurant. Definitely enjoyed it. Went back within a week bc it was good.
We recently went to DeLucia at lunch for a large family birthday and they were so gracious and accommodating. The service was wonderful from the manager we worked with to make the arrangements, to the wait and bus staff. Everyone was super kind and caring, and made us feel not only welcome but truly appreciated for our business. The food was great all around, the table bread was delicious, and the sandwiches were a particularly good value. This was our second visit and we will definitely be coming back often.
So sad the bar area was shutdown - we have not been back since. Was a beautiful bar area and quite popular with the locals for dinner and cocktails and socializing. Big mistake closing it - many of our friends have not been back either.
Insane!! New, 12/11/24, this is leftover Veal Saltimboca. Best value and well prepared! No way will you see the Bruschetta...It is eaten as it is put down! THE BEST! Go Now! Plus, waitstaff kicks ass!! And the music?! I should work there and Italian food isnt my favorite! Thats how good & fun it is!!
Remarkably outstanding Italian food in Lake Forest, CA. The service from Erin was excellent. The Veal Saltimboca is not traditional but rather a fusion of Veal Marsala and Saltimboca. Still very tasty. The Tiramisu was some of the best ever. This place goes on my favorites for Orange County.
First time there. Just perfect. Good Chianti . Pasta meat sauce was delicious. Salad was excellent. Ice cream was great. Outstanding service and atmosphere.
We went there for lunch on Friday. They are only open for lunch on Friday and Saturday I guess. No lunch menu at all. Dinner prices only. Shrimp and fettuccine with no salad is over, $38. Dinner salad costs extra$6. I offered the large pizza with the works for$42. Tax and tip is about$96 total for lunch. Good was good. Nice atmosphere. For a shopping strip mall Italian place it was kinda expensive to me. They've been in business over 35 years so maybe they're doing it right.
Best spaghetti & meatballs in South OC! FOH is very friendly. I have never had a messed up order or substandard food here.
Definitely would recommend. Everything was excellent!! The waitress was super friendly and nice. She gave us top notch service. The food was so fresh and delicious. We split spaghetti and meatballs, plenty of food. The bread and drinks were very appealing. We will return.
Phenomenal food... Try the veggie lasagna if that is your thing. You won't be disappointed! Servers and staff were very friendly as well :)
From the moment we stepped into this charming eatery, we knew we were in for a treat. As a visitor from Canada, I've had my fair share of dining experiences, but nothing quite compares to the magic of this place. The food was nothing short of spectacular – affordable, yet exuding the kind of quality and flavor that surpasses even the priciest establishments. Our culinary journey began with the most delectable meatballs spaghetti, a true testament to the chef's mastery of classic dishes. Each meatball was a perfect blend of savory and herbs, paired impeccably with al dente spaghetti and a rich, flavorful sauce that had us savoring every bite. Then came the ships – a unique, delightful dish that was both a visual and gastronomic feast. It was a perfect balance of crispness and flavor, leaving us utterly enchanted. The pièce de résistance, however, was the lasagna. Layer upon layer of perfectly cooked pasta, intertwined with a harmonious blend of cheeses, sauce, and seasonings, made each forkful a dreamy escape into culinary bliss. It was, without exaggeration, the best lasagna we've ever had. Every bite was a symphony of taste – fresh, flawlessly seasoned, with not a hint of greasiness or dryness. It's rare to find food that's so lovingly prepared, so full of flavor, and yet so kind to the wallet. It’s a culinary masterpiece that dances on your palate, leaving you yearning for more. The service was the cherry on top of an already delightful experience. Our waitress was not just efficient but exuded a warmth and beauty that added to the ambience of our evening. Her smile was contagious, making us feel right at home. And the chef, oh the chef deserves a standing ovation! Their skill and passion were evident in every dish that graced our table. Let's not forget the incredible team behind the scenes. They orchestrated the evening to perfection, ensuring that our family dinner was more than just a meal – it was a memorable event. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence did not go unnoticed. So, here's a heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our night so special. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where memories are made. I am already planning my next visit from Canada because a gem like this is worth crossing borders for. See you soon!
While on business travel, I stumbled upon DeLucia’s Italian Restaurant & Bar, a hidden gem that I promptly visited twice. The food options, especially the vegetarian choices, were fantastic, and the taste was simply great. It’s been the best Italian food I’ve ever had. If you’re in the mood for delicious Italian cuisine, I highly recommend Delucia’s. The servers were amazing and accommodating, especially Zach and Olivia. They were the friendliest and most understanding servers I’ve ever had.
This is a local gem for my family and I. Everytime someone comes into town we take them here. The glass windows make it look closed half the time but it's not and it's a very fun vibe. They also have a full bar section where they are playing the games. The food is always perfect and the portions are incredibly big usually lasts me at least 2 meals lol.
I chose this restaurant based on the number of reviews, and I am so glad I did. This was truly authentic Italian food. We started with the sausage rolls, which were made to perfection. The bread wrapped around the sausages was perfectly crunchy, brushed with melted butter and oozing with cheese. I had the eggplant parm, which was perfectly cooked—light and flavorful, not fried or heavily breaded like many places make it. It comes with a nice bowl of spaghetti or another pasta. My family ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and tortellini, and they said both dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Everything tasted homemade and high quality. Highly recommend. Will come back for the pizza!
Really great food and even better service. We went for dinner with 9 people last night, and our waiter was outstanding. The bread, salad, and pasta is all very good. I ordered the two sausages with pasta and marinara which was excellent. Large portions so great for leftovers or sharing.
We recently had De Lucia’s cater our Q4 team culture-themed lunch, and it was absolutely outstanding! The Meat Sauce Lasagna, Chicken Alfredo Pasta, Caesar Salad, and fresh Italian breads were all delicious and received rave reviews from everyone. The quality, flavor, and presentation were exceptional, and the food truly elevated our event. Not only was the cuisine authentic and flavorful, but the service was also seamless and professional, making the entire experience stress-free. Our team was happy and satisfied, and this lunch helped create a warm, collaborative atmosphere. Thank you, De Lucia’s, Morgan and the staff for helping make our team lunch event a success! We highly recommend your restaurant for anyone looking for a top-notch Italian catering choice for their corporate team lunch in the Orange County, California area.
Huge servings, almost too fast service very attentive waiters, would have preferred a smaller serving with my seafood pasta the ultra large serving of pasta made the seafood portion look skimpy. Truly the person's are so large that one serving is enough for two with food left over. Great quality well prepared but way too much.
My family has been coming this restraunt for 30+ years, back when it was Pepino's. The food is always good. I decided to write a review today. Because it's my dad's birthday and he chose to eat here. And he mentioned that he thinks that he's celebrated at this restaurant for more birthdays then any other location. So I owe DeLucia's and Pepino's a huge thank you for making my Dad's birthdays so special.
Really good! We had some time to kill over lunch and wanted to try somewhere new. Good food, friendly service, reasonably priced. Ticked all the boxes for us.
My Family and I ate here on a Sunday afternoon after a bowling tournament. The food was great and the service was even better. I want to thank the staff and the manager for there warm welcome and amazing service. We will definitely be back next time we have a tournament. If you are in the area and want Great food and service, please stop by DeLucia's.
Love this little hide-a-way for the great sauce! My favorite time to visit is on Sundays during football season. It’s a great place to have a bloody Mary with a multitude of plasma screams in the bar and awesome cocktails. Tonight, all things have changed, and I will now be coming as often as I can due to the great service of our server Anita! Anita is awesome personable makes you feel right at home and we loved her British accent and sense of humor. Whoever is the hiring manager needs to get a gold star and please do not ever let Anita need to go !
While on business travel, I had dinner at DeLucia's Italian Restaurant & Bar. I sat at the bar and I started off with an Old Fashion. Emily was the bartender and made a very good drink. For dinner, I had the Meatball & Peppers sub with meat sauce. It was fantastic. If you are looking for delicious Italian food, I highly recommend Delucia's.
This is such a hidden gem! Amazing happy hour deals and the food is always on point! These deals run all day long. Today we enjoyed barbecue wings and a basket of fries! The fries were so good. Came out hot and fresh and seasoned just right. Our wings were also very good. You can get them naked or tossed in sauce. They will also serve them with sauce on the side. We had ours tossed in barbecue sauce which was a sweet sauce. Loved the flavor! They gave us a basket of bread and it was fresh baked, served warm with butter. Amazing!!!
My first visit to De Lucia's was a great one! The pizza bread served with oil and vinegar was the perfect start, fresh and flavorful. I ordered the chicken marsala, which was outstanding. The mushroom white wine sauce was delicious, and the chicken was perfectly cooked with a large portion size. I also upgraded to a side of angel hair pasta with clam sauce, which was easily the highlight of the meal. I'll definitely be coming back for more.
Some of the best Italian I've had. The meatballs might be the top one or two in my book, and are huge. The bread is fantastic as well. Ambience is nice and mellow, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, and service is excellent! I'll be back when in town for sure.
Their Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich blows Brizzio's out of the water! First time here (at the old Pepino's location) Staff was super friendly. Food was delicious and from what I could see, the portions were pretty big! Their bar had live music; a young lady playing rock classic tunes with her piano. The only thing I would change would be the size of their TVs on the dining room area, they were rather small for a big room but the bar does have nice size screens.
We came for my dad’s birthday and all of us loved it! The food is absolutely delicious. The portions were huge, the prices were really reasonable, and each dish was featured a lovely variety of ingredients. I ordered the Ribeye Florentine and it was divine. The steak was just perfect and the whole dish had this fresh and rich flavor that was amazing. The restaurant is very pretty inside, really spacious, and has a fun, classy vibe. Absolutely recommend and can’t wait to come back!
Delicious food. Happy hour bites and yummy bread. We had a few small snafus in service, but those were made good. Yet in the end, found I was overbilled for happy hour wine per menu pricing... but theyd already made up for food, and was nominal, so we checked out anyway. The Food we had was excellent.
We where from. Out of town are first time I'm trying this entire restaurant. It was very delicious and good. I don't like the meat balls. But it was a good place.
I think most folks would consider this a five star, but I do have my reasons. I truly enjoy the varied and complete Italian menu. The food is excellent and the service is usually quite competent. My issue that results in a one-star loss is that Peppinos is somewhat a victim of it's own success. I call it the Disneyland syndrome. It's easier to raise prices if the crowds keep coming. The menu prices at Peppinos have been slowly rising. What was good solid mid priced Italian has changed to a more high priced Italian on certain menu items. I still enjoy the experience, but Peppinos is no longer a best buy. It's a good solid Italian restaurant.
Celebrated my brother i in laws birthday. Great service. Not a lot of parking since is located at a busy location. Food was good the Happy hour appetizers where very delicious. Service was great.
My friend told me this reataurant has been here for many years. The food was very good, and I also see they have a great deal of other selections in the menu. The tiramisu is a big portion and is only $6.75. The sever we got was below average but don't let him ruin your visit. The restaurant is still worth to go to. I will definitely go back to try out other dishes.
Good Italian comfort food. Most servings are large enough to share. Service was good and they kept refreshing the bread. Bright clean atmosphere. We shared a chicken Marsala. Second visit. Very crowded. Tried the chicken parmesan. It was overcooked. Also, they stacked the chicken, but melted the cheese on top, so 1/2 of one piece of chicken had no cheese. Other foods our guests ordered were rated okay.
This Italian restaurant serves Neapolitan dishes is family style portion plates and delicious pizza. They are using traditional basic sauces and fresh ingredients to produce such nice food. They have a restaurant side for more quiet dining and a bar side for watching sports on TV monitors for more lively setting. I thought the sweet sausages were quite good. Servers are super attentive and nice all around. Plenty of parking on the strip mall lot.
I was impressed with the quick, friendly service and fast delivery of entrees. Beer, salad, and main course all arrived fresh from the kitchen. The free bread & butter was a pleasant surprise. The pescatore with linguine could have easily fed two; the flavors were a little too mild, perhaps because I chose the white wine sauce, and the shrimp & halibut a little overcooked.
The food I ordered was very good. The service was less than impressive. Most bartenders were catering to frequent guests to the point it neglected other customers. I am from out of town but had frequented this location before. The first time I noticed the same thing but to a lesser degree. On a second visit it felt far more extreme. It is obvious that this location has attracted a loyal frequent clientele which is very impressive. In my opinion the problem is the "attention" paid to less frequent visitors. I put it in quotes to emphasize I do not need special attention but a normal expectation of service.
Ordered from dash spagetti with meatballs and 1 sausage Im not picky on sauce it was well seasones sauage was well seasoned Meat balls was like I could have made them , low seasosning couldnt taste it , very bad.
The spaghetti and meatball was delicious! But the callzone was a mess, the Canadian bacon was all stacked and like it were should've in, it came apart a lot! The garlic bread was good but for 6 bucks only two small slices oddly cut in half. When we got there we had to move tables because the waitresses were all gathered in a group in front of us just chatting up a storm.... I get it wasn't busy but chat somewhere else in the kitchen or hall but not in front of guest, it was very awkward.
The service was great. Unfortunately the food was so greasy we all felt sick after eating there. It was typical American Italian, which was a shame because everyone there was so nice but the food made us all sick.
The food is okay, but it is a bit pricey compared to other local Italian eateries. Unfortunately, the interior decor leaves a lot to be desired. Inside is very bright and not cozy like most Italian eateries. You certainly get a vibe by the decor that the owners are new to restaurants. The bar looks like a locals only dive.
I keep going back because the food is delicious. The service has been continually terrible at the bar since it opened.
To preface, staff was great! We sat in the bar so it was a more causal environment. Everyone was so kind and hopped in here and there to help each other out. They answered all our questions and addressed any concerns. I was so excited to try out this place, everything that passed our table and looked so amazing. Unfortunately, I bit the $30 bullet and went for scallops since I’ve been craving them. The serving was 5 scallops on what looked like 2/3 servings of dry pasta. The only sauce that came on the pasta was what they poured from the sauce pan making the scallops. As soon as I looked that the scallops, I was underwhelmed. They were a great size but essentially a white blob with minced garlic. Hesitant, I quarter the scallops and had everyone try them. Not only was the scallops missing any kind is searing, but it was also lacking taste of any kind of seasoning. It was almost like they heated butter and garlic, rolled them around and dumped it on the pasta. The staff addressed the concerns immediately and comped it from the bill and asked if I would like a replacement dish but I declined since everyone else was almost done with their food. Everything else was great! The bar atmosphere was fun and all the other guests were having a great time. Thank you for being a part of my mom’s birthday celebration! I just know next time I will opt for a different dish.
Was hoping for the same restaurant as Peppinos was since the menu is the same, but it was not and what we had was just OK. Happy hour pricing is high, $8 for a well drink is not happy hour prices and $7 for house wine is just not going to bring us back. We had the pizza and it was very average. Loaded with mozzarella cheese on top but with very little sauce under that made it very chewy like a ball of bubble gum in your mouth. The bar is very bright and not the darker colors with all the Italian pictures that were so cool as before that made you want to stay and hang out. The bar tenders were nice and helpful, but that for us was about it. Wanted to be regulars like before, but wont be. You may find it great, but we did not.
Pizza crust was dry and tough. The toppings were good, but could have been more generous. Serve was excellent.
Decent place, well lit, seating was solid, and the food was quite good. However the server we had totally scammed my table. He says it's happy hour so there are drink specials, one guy asked for what's on draft, server say they dont do draft but they got bottles. Okay, fine gets a bottle. Not five minutes after guy gets his beer, the hostess drops off a "happy hour specials" menu and they got draft beer and it's less than bottles. Then two of us get pasta dishes, and the server asks what kinda sauce we want and say he can do whatever, and lists and bunch of sauce options. We both try the spicy marinara, at the server's recommendation. To be fair, it was quite good, however when the bill comes, there is $5 upcharge for the sauce. Now this was work meal, so I wasn't not going to make a scene, so I just paid it. But this very much ruined the experience. The food was good, but just beware if servers make any suggestions.
First, the good: the pasta was cooked well and the sauce was good. The complimentary bread was tasty. The bad: the seafood was pretty bad (the mussels were very tough and the fish was very dry and tough) and the pizza was also not great (no fresh basil and it was extremely salty). Finally, the service was pretty lacking.
overall: very meh. the bread rolls are simply dry white bread, the marinara sauce is pretty mid and could be easily replicated via canned sauce. the noodles were cooked well at least. the meatballs were okay. the salad had 2 slices of tomatao, a pile of olives, and a mid dressing. can't even give you a full tomato? :(
Everything. The bartenders in the bar are very busy filling orders for the restaurant as well as the bar patrons that are there eating and drinking. We came in today after being gone many many months from this establishment. While we were helped initially by one bartender, she went on break and we were helped by another. We ordered off the menu. We ordered a small pizza extra thin extra crispy half ham half pepperoni. And we also ordered a children's portion of garlic and olive oil. The pizza came. It was not extra crispy. It was a mini, not the small we asked for and it was not extra thin. When we addressed it with the bartender, she apologized, and said she ordered the mini because we had the mini menu in front of us And then when we addressed the side garlic and olive oil, she made us aware that it came with tomatoes, which we thought it did not. Our mistake but the way this was handled by the staff was terrible. Terrible service. Not only did they make us out to be the bad guy when in fact we were specific to the order for the pizza. The manager stood at the end of the bar and never once came over to apologize for what took place. He left it up to the bartender who apologize but yet we didn't get what we asked for and making our request for our meal. We've been coming to this location for over 30 years when it was Peppinos since it's been de Lucia's there Service is awful. It's very sad that an establishment that many of our friends used to go to to get together. Don't go there anymore because they've experienced the same type of service. Thank God that the one in Alicia Viejo is impeccable in their service and they give you what you ask. Restaurants today need repeat business as well as referral. I'm not referring this place.
On Saturday, February 10, 2024, my husband and I went there to eat At De Lucia's. We decided to go after church. He ordered the lasagna and I ordered the Olive Oil, Tomato, Basil with Angel Hair. I also ordered a Garden Side Salad and side of Angel Hair Marinara. We were very hungry. We sat down and ordered at 7:00 p.m. The salad came right away. But our dinner did not come until 8:00 p.m.! It does not take 1 hour to receive the meals you are paying for. I asked the waiter twice and then the hostess twice about our food? They kept saying the lasagna takes a long time as it has to be cooked in the oven. If you are ordering this dish and it is prepared to order, then they need to tell you that it could take a longer time than usual. Finally, I asked for the manager. The hostess told me the manager was waiting for our lasagna to come out and he would bring it to our table. They tried to pass the whole experience off by bringing my food to me only. But then I was eating without my husband because he did not have his food yet. This was not acceptable! I still waited 50 minutes for my pasta dishes. And then the manager came over to give us the lasagna, apologized and he said he would comp the lasagna. That was nice, but in my opinion, the whole dinner should have been comped! I had to wait 50 minutes and then eat without my husband. They are only concerned with making their money. Of course, they noticed the whole dinner was very late! But they only chose to comp his lasagna. And on top of it, when the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, I told him I was way too full. He then told me that next time I need to make room for dessert! That would not have been so bad had he not said it so snotty and commanding. And on top of that, I went to hand the tip to the waiter and he said, "Just leave it on the table." And shooed my hand away. I have never had any waiter ever do that! I have no idea why he was so rude! I love Italian food but there are plenty of places to go for great Italian food at a better price. Aroma, Sal's, Romano Cucina, Ciao Ristorante, etc. The food is not that great, it is overpriced, and the people that work there are very rude! Service is the largest part of a great restaurant. We were very disapppointed. We will never come here again.
We were looking for a new Italian place we have some go tos that we definitely should have gone to. Bella Roma’s a family favorite great food fresh and hot and cooked to order. We waited about 40 minutes or 25 according to the server from the time the ticket was turned in. Just glad I didn’t go for the lamb which I really wanted. I ordered the fettuccini de Lucia which you’d expect they would serve an exceptional dish since their name was in it. Basically their version of the carbonara without the egg yolks and bacon instead of the ham or prosciutto and peas. The bacon was burnt so rather than smoky the whole plate tasted burnt. The chicken parm with the meat sauce on the spaghetti. The chicken wasn’t breaded too bad but the bottom was soggy and the taste was as if the chicken or what was in the breading was about to turn. The meat sauce was more like chunky meat in ketchup no seasoning on the meat or in the sauce. The bread that we got first was crusty and airy, and the focaccia like slices that were in the bread basket also was tasty. We ordered the works pizza mini no bell pepper which wasn’t bad. The crust a little dry, but not bad. We let the server know so that other patrons could avoid possible illness from the chicken. Declined to speak to a manager since we just wanted the bad taste to go away. The server still had them take off the two entries leaving the mini pizza and drinks. Regardless, never giving them another chance to kill us.
We tried this place for dinner on Friday evening and experienced the worst service ever upon arrival. The hostess was completely incompetent and lacked any training. First, we arrived on time after making reservations online through Yelp. Upon arrival, instead of seating us, the hostess told us we had to wait 45 minutes for a table even though there were plenty of empty tables at the entrance. Then after we told her a second time that we made reservations from home and had already put our names down on the wait list through Yelp and it told us there was no wait at the time, she finally said we could have the table once the other family leaves and it gets cleaned. Well another 15 min goes by and the table finally gets cleaned. Again, she ignores us and seats other people that came in after us and does not seat us. At this point we should have just left the establishment to enjoy dinner at any other restaurant in the area. However, since it was the first time we've been there in several years we mistakenly gave it a benefit of a doubt and still wanted to try it so we went ahead and seated ourselves at the table she pointed to earlier. The hostess saw us sat down but continued to ignore us and never gave us our menus so that we could order our food. It was only until my husband got up again and asked for the menus did we get them. Needless to say, this place has the worst service ever!!! They hire the most incompetent hostess without any experience or on the job training and is completely incompetent. Let's just say, it was our first and last dinner here as there are plenty of other nice Italian restaurants in the area with significantly better service. Food was just average for the high end prices they charge. Stay clear of this place unless you want bad service and ruin your dinner experience. You have been warned.
Our server Michael was atrocious. Rarely checked on us and was generally kind of stand offish. Forgot a couple things. Not a huge deal but definitely not good service. So we left a tip reflective of his service. And HE FOLLOWED US OUT OF THE RESTAURANT. He said “we must’ve left too much money” as it was more than the bill (we left a small tip) he proceeds to shout “Wow you guys are the best… really!” It was uncomfortable and surprising. Food was not bad and really nice atmosphere. Just unfortunate the service doesn’t always match. Our food runner was lovely and we tipped him cash separate.
