So good! Sometimes it’s packed but they don’t take long at all with your food and there is plenty of seating. Usually regulars(I assume) or older folks. I get the beef enchiladas with extra cheese or the grilled cheese sandwich which both are so so good! Food tastes homemade but not plain at all. The carne ranchera is darn good too! Feels homey. 🥰 not expensive, but not cheap cheap either. It’s worth it though.

We lived in Laredo for 35 years and almost every Saturday morning for 35 years, I had breakfast at Los Jacales, and I was very pleased to be able to have breakfast there again and the food was great and the service great, they have little turnover in wait persons. Over the 35 years I had lunch there many times and again, never unhappy. A great home owned place.

Mr Palacios and Staff always provide great courteous service with a smile. The Best Breakfast Tacos is here in Los Jacales. Lunch plates are also mouth watering. If you are from Laredo or from out of town, Los Jacales is the place to stop by always.

I was born and raised in Laredo and been all over Mexico and I can honestly say their Carne ranchera is one of the very best plates I've ever had anywhere! The brisket is smoked daily and the sauce is a unique blend of BBQ sauce meets a mild ranchero sauce. The thinly sliced brisket and the sauce is to die for. Been coming here for 40 years...family owned restaurant and highly recommended!

You can't order something not good here! 2 recommendations try the barbacoa, I promise you it's super good and not all greasy. There are other well known restaurants for the barbacoa, but everyone is sleeping on theirs! Also go and try their Carne taco, it is soooooooo good! I promise you no one has anything similar. Just tell the waitress you want a Carne taco, it is well worth the money!

We love coming here even if we have to wait for a table or have a hard time finding parking. The carne ranchera tacos or plate is our favorite. The chicharrón and Robert special tacos are very good too. The salsas we love and I wish the coffee tasted a bit better but it's okay, I come for the food.

The food was awesome. The Robert's special taco is really good. It consists of bean and bacon with smoked brisket smothered in their signature gravy. It is a must try for anyone who goes there. Was recommended by a friend to try it and I was highly impressed. Their signature gravy is by far the star of the show. The machacado a la mexicana was also very good and a must try in it's own right. I am sure that their other selections on the menu are just as good. Will definitely go back for more.

One of the best kept local morning eatery secrets in Laredo. Tacos served hot and fresh, the brisket taco is a need to try item if it is your first time. Limited parking, but there is street side parking. Lines form to wait to get in on weekends. There is a carryout option too.

This place was just okay. I should've stayed home and made my own tacos. Would've gotten more substance inside the tortilla and probably would've tasted better too.

We been there before. Excellent serve, but today it was bad. Servers kept looking at us but nobody would approach us to take our order. Not until we went and ask the cashier if she could send someone to take our order Even I had to go up front to get my coffee refill.

This place had awesome carne ranchera tacos de tortilla de Harina...lately though the tortillas are tough and to thick ...the carne ranchera is watery and lacks flavor...hope they improve on these deficiencies.

I sadly disappointed with my food. I ordered chicken soup which I was told came with rice. The soup was very overcooked, to the point of mush. I could not fi d any rice in it. The flavor was good but not enough to make enjoyable.

This was an adequate breakfast experience. The parking is challenging to say it kindly, or dangerous to enter and exit. The inside is illuminated and attended to the point of sterility... managing to miss cleaning the restrooms thoroughly. Service was good, but not personable. Again, food was "good" but not anything more. This simply was not a place I would look forward to returning in the future.

Wauted longer than usual, order was given to someone else and had to remake mine. Other than that, everything else was good!

The food wasn't so good. My wife and I ordered the daily special which was carne ranchera. We ended up with smoked brisket with ranchero sauce. We particularly didn't like it very much. I don't think we're going to eat there again.

We used to look forward on going every Saturday to enjoy their menudo, but recently we have noticed that the menudo doesn’t taste the same. We asked the gentle man if they had changed cooked because the tastes wasn’t the same anymore and he said it was that they changed the meat provider for the menudo. Too pricey, I remember when the original owners started the restaurant. The new generation needs to remember customer service. Remember the customers make you or break you . Now they even charge you for coffee after 2 refills. Omg

Drove all the way to Los Jacales to try it and it was closed for CURBSIDE only. Another lazy owner who does not want to pay employees and would rather just do take out. HORRIBLE. Abbot should close all these places who refuse to open

"Was " my favorite place, the manager Eddie came out side the store along with an assistance to get after me for the mask, when I had a mask when I went in and when I paid, but when I exit I didn't had it on becauseI also others didn't comply. We came from Austin, to do an errand in Nuevo Laredo. we wanted real mexican food, But we wanted to be out of the busy border so we decided to eat in the USA side, we thought because of the name Los Jacales Mexican Restaurant, this was it but nope it was not. Food is pricey, everything had no flavor, chips were very greasy, my husband asked for breaded chicken and it was from a bag and when they cooked it it was hard. The only thing we like was the salsa de chile seco rojo. If you are looking for real mexican food, this is NOT the place! I gave it 1 star because of the salsa de Chile seco, that was good and spicy!👍

the place stinks, the service is completely unpleasant, especially from a red-haired attendant who was incredibly despicable and arrogant and of dubious character. Otherwise it was ok.

I had been here before to clear that out. This time though, my eggs had a foul smell to them as if they were burnt and the waitress had them make me some more. Now they were less cooked but the smell was still there and they tasted really bad. When I sent the plate back, you would think someone would come and find out why but nobody came. Their lack of attention, along with the spoiled eggs, have me not returning. Overall, from past experiences, the food is not bad; it’s definitely not great, but I can’t see why others would rate as awesome.

Called in an order at 12:03 p.m. almost an hour before closing and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I show up to.pick up the food, the order was not entered and not made. Horrible service! How can you take an order an not make it!

I’ve been a regular here for years. I’ve been eating here since I was 8 years old. I would even say that this has been my favorite place because of the carne ranchera tacos. Now, I understand the challenges of Covid. I also understand businesses must be careful. And we’ve been very careful since this started. And I was being careful this morning. But what I don’t understand is why I’m being forced to wear a mask while I stand outside a business, while I am standing six feet away from the little pickup window and I am barely uttering four words. Now, I know some would think… better to be careful. And yes, I agree which is why I stood where I stood and hardly spoke. But, when the restaurant has forty to fifty people inside the restaurant having normal conversations, sharing funny stories, saying hello to their friends at other tables in the enclosed dining area unmasked… careful is a bit of a stretch (which is why I don’t go inside). Maybe instead of trying to make me wear a mask while outdoors, they should just place chairs outside their little window so we could be treated normally like those inside. Since I wouldn’t put on their mask while I was distanced outside, I couldn’t get my order. I just canceled it and left. There are other restaurants I could go to that are not so far away that don’t force mask wearing “outside.”There’s also a bunch of new restaurants I’ve been meaning to try anyway. Thank you for decades of great food.

Never been to Jacales but hell no I will not be going back. The soup de res tasted like it was from the can but if u add lime it does a lil better, their signature dish carne ranchera was disgusting the meat was grey, and smoked and it looks like a salsa but it’s gravy with no flavor and thick I wanted throw up, the meat was sus. The beans are just boiled like at home, the rice was plain and no flavor. The hamburger steak was passable that should be their signature dish, boxed potatoes. If you have dietary restrictions or no taste buds, go to jacales. Insult to injury we had to pay for our food🤢

If I could rate this place no stars I would due to the fact that they sell nothing but simple food that's not hard to make and they still get it wrong. This place will never be the same. People are just lazy nowadays…!

The manager will harass you about your service k-9 even if you already satisfied their inquiry. Granted a business can only ask if the animal in question is a service dog and what tasks it performs. They cannot ask you for documentation or disabilities. Twice I provided my dog’s proof. Very confrontational and boasts about being a manager of a breakfast restaurant like I’m supposed to be intimidated or impressed. Thanks but no thanks. Food is subpar at best.
