Recensioni di République Los Angeles
We had an absolutely fantastic brunch here. Is it busy? Yes. Was the line long? Yes. Was the food delicious? Yes!! Don't be put off by the line. The food here is worth it, and actually the line moves relatively quickly. For brunch, you order up front, get a number, go find a table, and they bring your food to you. Pastries are boxed when you order them, so you have those right away. They have a great selection, and every one we tried was yummy. Perfectly crisp puff pastry, balanced fillings...yum. I had the Crocque Madame, which is a hot sandwich with house-cured ham and gruyere cheese - mmmm - all melty and delicious. The waffles are a nice serving, and come with fresh berries. Lovely. Honestly, you cannot go wrong. The place is noisy and crowded for brunch, but I cannot wait to go back!
Amazing restaurant. Totally recommended. Be prepared to make quick decisions as your experience will start on a long line. During your wait you must decide your plate and as soon as you enter you will be faced with an amazing pastry selection you must choose quickly before paying. After paying, you will find a seat in the restaurant, which is beautiful and you’ll enjoy your food, which will not disappoint all the time you waited for.
We loved loved loved the baguette from Republique. It was as chewy with the think crisp crust. The Normandy butter was super expensive but very good. We may have to get another one tomorrow before we head back to Las Vegas. If you love baguettes and you’re in LA/midtown area, we highly recommend it. We used the express window and it was fast. Otherwise there was a line.
No wonder it’s the most popular brunch spot in LA! Love the interior and the decor. The pastries are amazing. The brunch selection is also abundant. Highly recommend and Will definitely return!
It’s always crowded, and finding a place to sit can feel like a game of musical chairs. I’ve never seen a day without a line outside. If you finish your drink and want another one, you should be ready to join the queue again. BUT every item on the menu is exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented. République offers a truly outstanding kitchen experience. By the end of your visit, your biggest regret will probably be not being able to try more — it’s not just about the taste, but also a visual feast.
I visited LA for a week and went here 4 times, that’s how good it was!! Republique does dinner well, but their standout is of course breakfast and brunch. Every single pastry of there’s is fresh and innovative and delicious, my favorite being the black sesame pastry. My favorites on the Brunch menu are the cast iron blueberry pancake and the kimchi fried rice, but I’m sure everything on the menu is great. I’m not a fan of yogurt bowls, but my mom who I ate with, who loves yogurt bowls, said the granola was the best she ever had. As well as the food being great, the interior is so beautiful, with its high ceilings and rustic design. It does get very busy here for lunch so I would recommend arriving before it opens, but then the line will move smoothly. Love this place!!
December 2025: Excellent restaurant. Came here for dinner and was very pleased with my meal. Started with the Le Menuier butter 🧈 and bread. Highlight of the meal. Superb butter! Would definitely come back again for this dish! We also had the endive salad, pork belly, NY strip steak 🥩. All three dishes were very tasty 😋. Got the strawberry 🍓 tiramisu for dessert. A delicious finale of a great meal. Service was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming back again.
The ultimate LA brunch splurge. République never misses. We came for a New Year's brunch and everything was outstanding. Highlights: The Food: We ordered the brisket burrito, lobster omelette, and the famous brioche French toast. All three were excellent—no misses. The Vibe: Great energy, beautiful interior, and the perfect place for a special occasion meal. It remains a top-tier brunch destination in the city. Expect a line, but know that the food is worth the wait.
Ambiance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved the space. The large glass windows bring in so much natural light, and knowing this used to be Chaplin’s office gives it extra character. The sunlight coming through the glass ceiling is absolutely beautiful — it instantly puts you in a good mood.🥰. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was solid. The shakshuka and mushroom toast were standard. The potato pancake was a pleasant surprise — crispy on the outside with a soft, fluffy interior. The Basque cheesecake was definitely above average and nicely done. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ The food is good, but the ambiance really steals the show here. It does get quite busy on weekends, which takes away a bit from the experience. I imagine coming here on a weekday, sitting in the sun, would feel especially relaxing and lovely.
République Absolutely loved this place, and it truly lives up to the reputation it has built across Los Angeles as one of the city’s most iconic French cafés. From the moment you walk in, the space feels special, a beautiful blend of historic charm and modern Parisian energy. The atmosphere is warm, buzzing, and full of life, though it can definitely get fairly busy, especially during peak brunch hours. That said, the energy only adds to the experience. The seasonal egg nog was fantastic, rich, balanced, and comforting, clearly made with care and attention to detail. The French toast was the real standout, absolutely outstanding and deserving of all the love it gets online. The inside was unbelievably soft and buttery, while the outside had the most awesome crisp, light crunch, with just the right amount of fluff throughout. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. The French omelette was also excellent, perfectly cooked, creamy, and delicate, exactly how a classic French omelette should be. Simple, elegant, and deeply satisfying. Overall, République is one of those rare places that manages to deliver on both food and experience. It’s easy to see why it’s consistently recommended by locals and visitors alike. Busy, yes, but absolutely worth it. A place you’ll want to return to, again and again.
It offers a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is beautiful and lively with a great mix of elegance and comfort that makes the place feel special yet welcoming. The vibes are perfect for breakfast or brunch. The food was outstanding. The waffle was incredibly delicious and full of flavor. The shakshuka was just as impressive, rich and well-seasoned, with perfectly cooked eggs and fresh ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. Overall, République combines great food, excellent service and an amazing atmosphere. It’s a place I would happily return to and confidently recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
I’ve lived in LA for almost 25 years seven of those right in Miracle Mile near République and it remains one of the absolute top restaurants in the city. It’s our go-to spot whenever we have guests visiting from out of town or overseas, and they always fall in love with it, too. Everything is consistently on point. Too many favorites to list. The coffee and pastries are outstanding, and the food is always exceptional. I also really love the vibe the energy, the mood, the music, it all just works. Service is excellent every time. We went a few days ago, and the woman at the pastry counter was incredibly kind. She later came by our table and asked how our first bite was… and honestly, it was delicious. République never misses!!
I’ve heard so much about République Café and was honestly worried it might be overrated — but it definitely isn’t. I tried the crab omelette, and it’s hands-down the best omelette I’ve ever had. Perfect texture, rich flavor, and worth every bit of the hype. The only downside: the staff seemed a bit sad or low-energy. Not rude, just not as warm as you’d expect in a place this good. Food: 10/10 Atmosphere: Great Service: Could be happier
I don’t understand how this place has any negative reviews because this was the highlight of my time in California. I ate breakfast here and they had the best selection of pastries. We ordered breakfast and sat down, everything came out fast and the service was on point. We ordered the brisket burrito and the potato pancake and a couple pastries and I was in heaven. I hope I can stop by on my return flight. 10/10
You got to try their food to be honest. It’s just tasty and we went for breakfast. Avocado toast with scrambled egg on side and the egg Benedict with salmon (which was delicious). We came early morning which I would recommend to avoid the crowds which they got busy quickly. Note: it’s a bit pricy in my opinion but worth every dollars
Went for Sunday brunch. 10am. There was a long line in front. May 15 groups back. Took about 15 min to get to the front. There is one line for to go and one for pastries and food. We ordered 4 pastries and 2 meals. Filipino Adobo fried rice and short rib burrito. Both very good. Lots of seating inside and out.
République is one of the finest dining experiences in Los Angeles, perfect for a romantic dinner, an important business meeting, or simply a night when you want everything to feel special. The historic space with its high ceilings and grand arches gives the evening a sense of occasion, and the mix of regulars, date-night couples, and Hollywood insiders makes every visit feel like an event. Chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke are the heart of it all. Walter brings world-class technique to savory dishes, while Margarita, a James Beard Award winning pastry chef, creates breads and desserts that have become iconic in their own right. Together they deliver a menu that is ambitious, polished, and deeply satisfying. Signature dishes like the tuna toast show how simple flavors can be transformed into something memorable, while steaks cooked over the wood fire are among the very best in the city, with rich smoky flavor and a perfect char. Seasonal pastas, seafood, and inventive small plates round out a menu that never disappoints. Service is attentive from start to finish, and the front desk team, especially Sade and Azari, are excellent at setting the tone with a warm welcome and smooth flow to the evening. République remains a must in Los Angeles, where every dinner feels like the kind of night you want to repeat again and again.
We've been wanting to try this place for some time, but finally got her today. We parked in the valet (as there was no street parking) and went in. The entry area is small and we were there at 11:30am and most of the pastries were sold out. (get there early for the full selection) We studied the menu and ordered a couple of pasteries first. That is how it works, you order your pastry selections from the case, while waiting in line for the cashier to take your food order. We ordered a donut hole-like item that had a cream filling and a Passion Fruit cream cake. For our food, we ordered a Cuban Sandwich and the Adobo Pork Fried Rice. My wife ordered a cafe mocha and I appreciated that my iced tea was with bergamot. We took our table number (which was an old beat up tin cup - kind of fun) and found a table. We were seated right at the indoor archways to the back dining room. I enjoyed looking at the classic cathederal-like architecture while dining. Our food came and it was really good. I had the Cuban Sandwich and it was probably the best I've every had. My wife enjoyed her fried rice, but we both loved my salad that came with the sandwich. It was the best thing in the meal! It was simple butter lettuce, but the home made dressing was unbelievably good, with fresh herbs. We also enjoyed the desserts we ordered, but I was more impressed with the lunch items. That said the cream pie was tasty. We will be back as there are so many more dishes I'd like to try.
Loved République. Had the French toast and I had no idea how huge it was. It was delicious and definitely big enough for two to share. The syrup was good and not sickly sweet. Also had the Maine lobster omelette which was to die for. Huge portion also but absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend both these options. Loved their cathedral like space with their bench seating. Keep in mind the seating will have you sat with other customers.
My friend says this is one of her fave foodie spots. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. They were on the Michelin guide and have a bunch of yummy looking pastries. I ended up getting their quiche slice and banana croissant thingy to try. The quiche had a buttery flakey crust with super creamy rich savory eggs and a good amount of spinach. My friend said it’s the best she’s ever had and she wasn’t wrong. The croissant was nice and crispy flakey caramelized and buttery and had a soft gooey sweet yummy bananay middle. This place is kinda pricey but tastes good so it’s lowkey pretty good. Quiche $8 Banana danish $5 Paid: $14.85
Very delicious and fresh. Plates could be a little bit prettier imo. A little bit more shallots would be amazing with the potato pancake dish :’) A little bit pricey but good choice to spoil yourself with a really good brunch.
Tried Republique for the first time! Two of us had: arugula rigatoni $44 bucatini cacio e pepe $38 sparkling water $8 rodolphe le meunier butter $15 4 Kumamato $5 ea $20 2 cheeses $20 little gem salad $28 regalist pennsylvania golden chicken $72 remi jobard btl white wine $140 cuyama orchards apple tart $18 health LA 4% $16.04 Knocking off a huge star for the pasta. Big miss. Pasta was overcooked for both and a bit on mushier side. I did let staff know at the tail end of the meal for feedback. Bread was good! Wasn't charged for another one (but maybe it is included?) though the second one was on the burnt side. The chicken though! So good! Haven't had chicken like that in a long time. Everything else on the menu was good. Obviously on the pricier side meal, so hopefully the pasta is just a one-off. Server Bessie was great! We ended up parking on the street a few blocks down.
We grabbed a bunch of pastries from the bakery. The baguette with butter and jam was delightful and freshly baked. Unfortunately, for the pastries, it seems someone used a pastry brush that was previously used with garlic to put the egg wash on the sweet pastries. So although the pastries were good, they all had an air of garlic essence despite being sweet and not savory pastries. So just wanted to flag that for your staff, so that other's experiences are not similarly tainted by this issue. I'll definitely be back for a sit down breakfast or brunch, as the atmosphere is delightful, and the food certainly of a high caliber. p.s. its spelled paris-brest.
+Best Benedict in town. +Even daily bread like baguettes are so delicious. +Lots of options on the menu. +Attentive and prompt service. +Spacious and good vibe. -Only valet parking available and too expensive. -Not easy to find the place. -Staff looks so busy.
the food was really nice, i ordered the kimchi fried rice, granola bowl, mediterranean eggs, and green juice. all were delicious! service was neutral. atmosphere was really nice, but one of my water glasses was dirty.
This is an amazing and unique place has kind of a historic authentic vibe, grabbed coffee & a pastry first, then ended up staying longer than planned and got a salmon toast that was excellent. The bakery case is dangerous (in a good way), service was busy and need to improve, yet they were friendly, and everything tasted fresh. Would happily come back.
The menu had a lot of amazing choices, and walking around while snooping…there were several breakfast choices and I kinda wish I ordered a couple of different ones. I chose the regular breakfast, and it was good. The bacon was really thick, which was a new experience for me. A note for future reviewers…the food menu should be loaded way more than the drink menu, cmon people. I had to click on the 5th picture under menus to see food!
This was my first time visiting here. We decided to come here for a team dinner after a work event based on the recommendation of one of our colleagues. It was well worth the experience. The food was delicious, and everyone seemed to enjoy the variety of dishes that we ordered. I will say that it was my first time having a dish with white truffles — it wasn’t my favorite dish of the evening, even though everyone else seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area.
I left a bit disappointed. I came in with high expectations for the pastries—especially the croissants—but they fell short for me. I’ve been to many bakeries with a wider variety (think pistachio, Nutella, etc.), larger size, and similar pricing. The quality didn’t quite match what I was hoping for, especially considering the cost. That said, the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The indoor seating genuinely feels like you're sitting in a European café, which I loved. The coffee was excellent, and the savory dishes were delicious—just keep in mind they are very pricey. For reference, two pastries, two coffees, and two main dishes came out to $115 including tip. Definitely on the higher end. Overall, I’m glad I tried it and it was a nice experience, but I’m not sure I’d return—at least not for the pastries. If you’re looking for a great croissant, this wouldn’t be my first choice right now. But for ambiance and coffee, it’s worth experiencing at least once.
Firstly, do not part at the lot, it’s minuscule and $14 for brunch timing parking is steep. The lines were long but it moved quickly. You are quickly overwhelmed with the amount of pastry choices and very little time to decide. Once you picked out your pastries, you’re able to order your entrées at the cashier and pay for your food. They give you a number and then off you go walking through the entire restaurant looking for a table. In our case, it was standing around waiting for someone to get up. The restaurant was full and yet they refused to open up the second floor for patrons. Our food arrived, and we still didn’t have a table to sit in, which was frustrating. The five of us squeezed into a two top until a larger table was available. Once we were done with our meal, I noticed there were tables that were empty that were for dirty plates that were not cleared in time. The food was good but for the service and price for valet, would not recommend unless you were looking specifically to overpay for next to no service.
