Stopped by on a road trip today. Mushroom burger was delicious! Fries had great seasoning. Pickle bar offers many good choices. Oso was behind the counter and was super helpful and friendly! Wish we had this place in New Jersey!
I'mma tell y'all what! This place has excellent burgers and by far the best chicken strips in town! This was not a paid testimonial!
Lubbock is such a quaint lil town & this place fits right in! Go Red Raiders ... Eclectic would be an understatement to describe this place, and the food choices here are HUGE! Does anyone want a buffalo burger or an elk steak? We had the grilled chicken sandwich, hand-cut fries, fried pickles, kale/romaine chicken caesar salad, and a REAL HERSHEYS SYRUP MILKSHAKE THAT WAS DELISH. They also offer adult shakes "wink wink" & adult beverages + on the fountain, soda made with real sugar, the root beer was so yummy. We'll be back y'all 😎
Such a Texas restaurant. Burger was greatt, such a Texen place. We got our food very fast and they have little games to play whilenyou wait for your food.
Came here two days in a row and got the Cuban burger and it was delicious. Manager came to check on us and then another employee came by to bus the table and checked on us and remembered my friend from yesterday. Awesome food great atmosphere happy they're back open! Eat here weekly still absolutely delicious and never have I eaten anything that wasn't so tasty!
Wow! What an amazing burger! I love the variety of burgers you can forget and the uniqueness they put into it. This is probably top 5 burger I've ever had, not to mention their fries were amazing as well. Not too many places can top this place. If I am ever back in the area, this will be my first stop
I got the Big Tex, my partner got the Freshman 15, and holy moly, those patties were amazing. It took only a couple of minutes to come out. I enjoyed mine immensely, I even stole a couple bites from my partners and it was delicious as well. The fried pickles were a bit saltier than I’d like and the fries were a bit over cooked/old. All around great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the music fit perfectly.
By far a great place to stop at and get a good burger with some make it freaky fries. The watermelon sweet tea is good like really good. And the vintage root beer is a thing my taste buds now crave. The place is so welcoming and inviting. They had a huge jenga game on a table. Also its right by the Alamo drafthouse and theater which is also another of my favorite places to go to.
First time ever coming here, definitely won’t be the last. I had the classic, the wife had the gosh jam it, and the kiddo had the kids cheeseburger. Added onion rings and the treat yo self twisted cheese fries. 3 sodas and a tiki-Rita and the old fashioned. The bad-the atomic pickles were not atomic and the bread-n-butter were not crunchy. The great-everything else. The old fashioned was good, I added root beer to it and made it so much better. The fries-I added the BBQ sauce to it and made them awesome, and they were great before. I added the horseradish Dijon and some onion rings to my burger-that was right on the money. Price for all three of us plus’s the bar was $60, minus the bar, would have only been $40- which we would have paid at Whataburger. So this was a great meal for a great price. I strongly recommend everyone swing by and give them a try. They have many options to accommodate everyone. Sorry about the photos, it looked so good, I couldn’t wait and snapped these half-way through eating.
Service was quick and done with a smile. Food was made just how I asked it to be made. And tasted great. Will go back again.
You will notice that most of my photos of this awesome establishment aren't even of the food. This is because to me, an eatery with such a sense of humor found in and on nearly EVERY facet of the building is such a rare and refreshing find that I almost wouldn't have minded if the food was subpar. Fortunately I am happy to report that this is most definitely NOT the case here. Not only were several things gut-bustingly funny from many of the chalk drawings on the doors and walls to the pictures found on the tea recepticles and salt and pepper shakers, but your actual gut is likely to leave very full and happy as well because this is THE BEST burger in Lubbock, bar none. The beef patty is a beast in and of itself but I ordered the Freshman 15 which is that juicy, luxurious patty smothered in French fries, melted cheddar cheese and a fried egg. These items are of course sandwiched by a soft, subtly-sweet buttery bun. This burger may sound like it would by design be dry but it was just the opposite. This was the juciest most delicious burger I have ever eaten hands down. But I am one who rather likes the greases and juices of a good ol' American burger to run down my beard. As far as sides go, I chose onions strings in lieu of fries (because a decent helping of fries already topped my burger) and I must say, both the fries and onion strings were absolutely delicious with a subtle sweetness in and of themselves. Top them off with any of Twisted Root's delicious custom sauces and you can't go wrong. The establishment was clean, the staff was friendly albeit with a personality in and of themselves and I absolutely adored the competent mixture of modern humor and classic Texan decorations. Also, you are not called to pick up your order via your likely incorrectly-pronounced first name ala Starbucks but rather with a little colored card you are given with the name and a random fact of a person in popular culture ranging from the Rock, to Molly Ringwald to Chandler Bing. I thought this was a nice touch. But this review would not be complete without mentioning possibly my favorite part. The bubblegum-flavored Twisted Root Beer. This was absolutely delicious and apparently the custom flavor changes all the time. Personally I can't wait to try the banana root beer. Also, as a final note, it probably goes without saying at this point but the 'Fat Elvis' shake with bananas, chocolate, peanut butter and bacon pieces was the PERFECT way to end such a delicious meal. For what you get, prices are more than fair because portions are more than fair. And bring the kids because the whole family is liable to have a fantastic time here at the Twisted Root Burger Co.
The burgers are incredible and you don't leave hungry. I love the fried onions by them self or on the burger. The management and staff are wonderful. I love the tea whether unsweetened or sweet watermelon tea I. I had the millionaire burger today and it was delicious. Shakes are good. I love their sodas so far.
A little pricey but great burgers. The fries were cold
I'm from Colorado and this place is fantastic! The food was great and all but the staff was almost better! Super friendly, very nice and you can tell they all enjoyed their job! The pop was great, the s'mores shake was incredible! My wife got the classic burger - cooked to perfection and tasted great! The fries were good too! I got the spicy chicken sandwich. I can't remember what it was called but it was juicy and perfectly cooked! I highly recommend checking this place out!
I came across this place a few months ago. I was looking for a place that had a good hamburger. This place did not disappoint. They have so many unique things of their own. Like the sodas, sauces, etc. The decor is very interesting as well. From the light fixtures to the artwork. It’s all very unique.
I really love coming here. Great food, cool atmosphere, and friendly staff. Courtney was fantastic and has a magnetic personality that’s great to all her customers.
We were in a mood for a burger, so we decided to try Twisted Root. We ordered All American Burgers (this restaurant’s version of the bacon cheeseburger), I ordered a Wagyu version (it was worth the up-charge). All burgers were cooked to our desired doneness. The shakes were thick and delicious, and the twisted fries you only need one order if you have a party of 2 or 3 (they order is very large). They have a sliced pickle bar, if you enjoy pickles on your burger, the pickles add great depth and flavor to such a dense burger. A side-note, halfway through my meal I remembered I saw this restaurant on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. This restaurant definitely lived up to the reviews from the show.
I really enjoyed this place. Showed up around 11AM passing through town and a friend recommended this place for a quick bite. The pickle bar was really interesting and had some tasty options. My burger was excellent and quite filling along with the fried pickles. There were plenty of condiment options in a caddy set on the table including a spicy ketchup and a pretty good barbecue sauce. Staff was really friendly and helpful when I asked for recommendations. My order was out within 5minutes, although the place was only beginning to get busy when I placed my order. Definitely going back to try their venison burger next time I’m in Lubbock.
This place is phenomenal! Very laid back and open air establishment. The food was absolutely amazing! Gourmet burger options with exotic meat options available seasonally! They make their own buns from scratch, and even have their own sauces and flavors of pickles! This was hands down the best burger I have ever had and the best burger joint I have ever been to. I highly recommend it! There should be one in every city in the Country!
Your first encounter with an employee when they greet or don’t greet you always sets the tone for the entire meal. We were greeted yesterday, the young man was so happy, polite, and answered all of the questions we had. (Our first time here!) I got a buffalo burger well done (unfortunately it was still pink but I lived lol), goat cheese, onion tomato jam (A MUST TRY!!!!!), with amazing fried green beans and carrots for the side. The variety of pickles and sauces to choose from was also a plus! Oh! Let’s not forget their cream soda…it’s DeLiCiOuS. I would give this place a solid 10 stars if it were possible! It’s hard to go eat now days and have polite and professional employees, great food, great service, and a clean store all at the same time. This place definitely is now one of my favorites.
My sister and I decided to try Twisted Root for the first time today and I just want to say they DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The food was AMAZING and the customer service was even better! I ordered the Western Burger and just had to take a photo of this beauty 🤩 I highly recommend this burger joint if you’re looking for good food and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back for more!
We have always loved Twisted Root. The burgers are really good. Homemade ranch and the orange dipping sauce are amazing. Dog friendly patio is a plus too! The pickle bar has the best sweet and spicy pickles!!
I’ve been to the Twisted Root in Deep Ellum several times before, having become acquainted with it thanks to a 2009 visit by Guy Fieri, and my quest to visit as many DDD establishments as I could. I knew then that this would be a long-term relationship. I have since eaten at the Shreveport location twice, too. And now we can add Lubbock to the list. I knew before I entered the building that this was going to be a first-rate burger-eating affair. As usual, I went for the Vegabond, their house-made veggie burger, and seasoned fries. I grabbed a can of Texas-brewed Yuengling to wash it all down (I pridefully report that the Texas rendition is far better than what they brew in FL and PA). The vegan burger was among the best I have ever eaten anywhere, far better than the frozen hockey pucks that come out of food service boxes. Oh, and my carnivorous friends all concur in declaring TW’s beefy burgers are top-shelf. Even though it was rather busy, my pager buzzed in less than 10 minutes. Twisted Root shops are all tastefully appointed, giving off a rustic vibe far removed from the molded plastic seating of fast food. It’s kid-friendly, but with adult sensibilities. No ball pits or crazy slides, just great food and beverage.
This is such a wonderful restaurant for getting one of the best burgers around. The service is wonderful and friendly and the system they use to identify you is hilarious and fun. I have never been disappointed eating here at all and we even enjoy the location in San Angelo. Great scenery and atmosphere.
The burgers are juicy and full of flavor, the toppings are creative, and the vibe is fun and laid-back. Always a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family, employees were great
Courtney was amazing! My very first time here! We had tickets for Flix next door and we came early to eat and drink there but their bar was not open so thy recommended to come here. Boy it was awesome! She made a scratch sweet and sour mix for our margaritas and let me tell you it was FIRE! There was another couple that came in as well for the same reason and they were saying the same thing! I WILL be coming back. Thank you Courtney because you were just so sweet and kind and happy and smiling. Nothing but positive vibes from you. This is what our world needs more of!
The burgers here fantastic, honestly some of the best I've ever had. The server, Courtney, was very attentive and kind. It's really cool that she makes most of her ingredients herself, the margarita she made was the best I ever had!. I can't recommend this place enough, the only thing wrong is that there isn't live music here Fridays and Saturdays!
Courtney was our bartender. She was absolutely amazing. The fried pickles, where the cherry on top, definitely coming back for more absolutely wonderful service from Courtney and also her sweet-and-sour mix that she made from scratch was absolutely phenomenal, definitely recommend a comeback.
Great little burger place on the northside of town. Burgers are full of flavor and not too greasy. Fries are so fresh tasting and seasoned well. Atmosphere is very laid back and enjoyable to sit and visit for a while.
Had a cheeseburger and it was great! They don't have traditional "service" with waiters and so on, at least not when we were there at lunch time, but the ladies taking the orders behind the counter were nice and helpful and the food was ready quickly and was hit and fresh. The atmosphere is a bar and grill but with a concrete floor, so it was quiet when we were there and not loud but I imagine it gets pretty loud when it's busy, but necessarily a bad thing if you're looking for a place to relax, have a couple drinks, some good food and enjoy the music and ambient noise, but probably not great for quiet conversations when busy. That said, lunch for us was great and we had no trouble conversing with each other and we'll definitely be back!
Best burgers in Lubbock! Great atmosphere, busy, but never busy enough that you can’t find a table. Large selection of burgers, the bacon jalapeño cheese fries are delicious, they have their own sodas, and the amazing pickles that you can try on the side. Love it 10/10, will always try and take my out of town friends here!
First time here! The staff is very nice :) Food was great! I got the basic burger with cheese and bacon. I ordered a side of homemade onion rings which were delicious. The different sauces were a great addition as well . I also ordered the Oreo milkshake- it was custard base and fluffy (good flavor but hard do sip out of a straw.) I definitely will be back
This is a great spot. We really liked our burgers and chicken sandwich. The bar was okay, but we didn't really come to drink and watch sports anyways. Love the coasters for when they call out your order!
The customer service was amazing. The food options are great. I love how you build your own burger instead of it being built for you. The atmosphere is very fun. I also love how they tell the story of twisted root on a screen. They also had little games that you could play while you were waiting for your food. They had a full bar. And I also love how you could sit towards the front of the building and have the windows open. They had drawings on the bar of people that had came there. About six months ago me and My now husband went there and still saw our original initials. It was just all great experience. Oh, and I just love the pickle bar. We will definitely be going back.
Build your own burger is the way to go! Vegetarian patty, all the toppings, sauces and served with fries. What a great place to have dinner with friends. Don't forget to stop by the pickle bar - they have AMAZING pickles. I chose the Strawberry shake to go with my meal and it was delightful.
This was our first time at Twisted Root! This won't be our last. I just want to tip my hat to the cooks. That was probably the best burger I've ever had. And I'm not being dramatic. I asked for it well done. And the juices were still flowing out of the burger. I had the millionaire burger. Only order it if your ready to eat. I'm a bigger guy and I almost didn't finish. The cheddar fries were mint. Also you can't go wrong with the boneless chicken wings/chick bites. Flavor was in every bite. Cheese bites were on point as well. Great atmosphere! But just know it isn't a sit down and order restaurant. You order at the register and they call the name given to you. We were "Conan The Destroyer". I like that part. It's different. It better than a buzzer or just saying someone's name. All in all a great experience. We went on a Friday around 4:30pm. Oh I don't want to forget the great customer service from the women behind the counter taking the orders.
AMAZING SERVICE, QUALITY & ATMOSPHERE A gaggle of us came through on an Amarillo road trip and the staff missed one of our orders. They courteously helped our group and gave us the missed order complimentary. Great atmosphere & service. Highly recommend the sweet tangy & spicy "Gosh jam it" goat cheese burger and the "Western" jalapeno burger.
We ordered takeout for the family lunch around 11:30 to be picked up around noon on 1/9. The order was hot and ready when we arrived, and the food was still at good temps when we got it home. My son enjoyed the hot chicken sandwich, even though the chicken was slightly overcooked. My wife enjoyed her chicken club as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my western burger, which was absolutely packed with delicious onion strings and pickled jalapeños. Both the treat yo self fries and the cheese fries were fantastic as well. The fried pickles were a bit too salty for my taste, but the flavor and texture was superb. Overall we enjoyed our lunch, and had a good time.
Good quality and fresh with a varied menu, love the pickle bar and unique soda options!

Burgers were delicious. They have GF buns and the fries are cooked in a separate fryer so also GF.
Staff is great & they have beer on tap what more could ya ask for? Great place to go!
Favorite burger place hands down. Love the decor. The vibe. The alcohol shakes are always a plus. Really enjoy their cane sugar soda fountain. I go every chance I can

Great food and relaxed environment. Try the Big Tex burger. It doesn't disappoint. One of the best I've had in a restaurant.

Great burger. Friendly people. Tables and other surfaces felt a bit greasy. Could use with a good cleaning, but otherwise a great place to have lunch.
This place has variety, but at a price. Burger on the menu is just that, the burger no fries. There is a bar, but there kegs with no footstool unless your 6ft tall you still feel like a kid at the doctors table while yr legs fall asleep when seated at the bar, they do have tables though. It does have a uneek feel, but very pricey for Lubbock. Although they do have exotic meats for what is there siginiture burgers. From venison, elk, lamb, ostrich, rabbit, duck, camel, boar, beaver, kangaroo, emu, gator, bison, and waygu beef.
Good food but I'm not used to having outdoor conditions inside. The dining area was quite warm. Had I expected that, it would be a great place to dine. Thank you
Only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is the sweet tea was watermelon flavored “ugh”. The Grilled Cheese Burger with a fried egg on top was delicious, seriously how could it not be 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with 8 oz of ground chick between and a fresh egg on top. Fried pickles were good, Onion Strings were very good. Decor and atmosphere with 80’s music was AWESOME. Highly recommend this place but they need regular sweet tea this is not California.
Had family moving kid into Texas Tech dorms, went for family outing. Good choice everyone enjoyed. Great selection of burgers or you can build your own. Two concerns, I emptied the unsweetened tea I pushed it back on counter and got a ugly look from manager, we set outside at large table it needed to be refinished not pleasant. We were there along time eating and visiting and they never filled the tea not to good. Paying that much for a burger expect better.
It was my first time to be there, me my wife and our 2 children, and an in-law. We got everything in a decent time, except for my son's burger. Went to the front counter to ask about it, and they didn't even have it in the order. No big deal, they got it out as soon as possible with no issues. I got the Millionaire burger. It was pretty good. All in all, it was a good place. Go check it out!
Delicious Big Tex Burger with fried onion rings and avocado and cheese! Great pickle bar too.
We came here to try it after moving back to Lubbock from Tennessee. We have been really big Blue Sky fans, but this place has it beat by a mile! There are five people in our family and we spent $60 for everyone to have the burger of their choice drink and bacon cheese fries for the table. The service was quick. They have their own house made sodas and pickles. The pickle bar was neat because they had a bunch of different options. I might add that two of my kids LOVE pickles. All the pickles were generally good! The burgers though… perfectly done, juicy, fresh, well seasoned and downright delicious! Fresh toppings, house made buns, and options for house made condiments. The food was all around some of the best in Lubbock. For those who prefer the lighter side of life there are salad and chicken options as well. While I didn’t try those I’m sure from everything I tasted they would be amazing.
I dined in for the first time, created my own fried chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese, lettuce & tomato’s. It was hugeee & good!! I love their butter pickles. Also tried out a sampler of all their sides, definitely had leftovers since I was sharing with my fiancé 😆 good homemade bbq sauce & spicy ketchup.
The atmosphere is awesome! Along with a full bar which is fun. There no reason this place shouldn't be packed with people. But I would agree with the reviews, service is slow. There was 1 family of 4 and about couple in there while we ordered. It took a little longer than expected for food. This is a FUN place but that's not the vibes the staff gives off. The food was decent, I would say its a little pricey for what you get.
The food is fine, although on the pricey side. The person who took our order was rude and disrespectful. This type of experience reflects poorly on the management and overall company. We spent $70 …
Cute atmosphere! Great for families. burgers were delicious. Two burgers and two sodas added up to $30 before tip. Seemed a little high? We didn't even get fries.

Great burgers, good service, good atmosphere. One of the better burgers I've had. Will visit again.

Burgers were fantastic, they have a pickle bar, and very good shakes!!\nFrench fries were over cooked.\nOver all it was a very good experience!! Would definitely go do it again!!

Good burgers. I have had the "Classic Burger" twice. Friendly staff. Top shelf margarita was excellent.

They do not have the real cane sugar fountain drinks anymore… very disappointed
Be warned it took 38 minutes to get food at 1pm on a Sunday! It was only 3 burgers and a couple of sides. Food was good but like everywhere else overpriced . They have a tip screen even though no one there is paid a servers wage. It was busy there but not packed. If they can get their act together I would consider going back.
Went to the one down in San Angelo, and was expecting a similar experience; was pretty disappointed by the totally different menu and atmosphere. Wasn't terrible just disappointed it wasn't the same as other locations
I really wanted to love this place but the food was meh at best. The fried appetizers were chewy and seemed like they had been refried, and the burger toppings were skimpy. The reason I gave 2 stars is because if you order the appetizer platter for the table it only comes with 2 tiny dipping sauces in the super small plastic cups, and every additional tiny cup on $.75! Lessened learned, never again.
I just didn’t have a good experience here. I wanted to like it because it has a lot of potential, but it just fell short. To start it all off when I placed my order I asked if I could have my shake made when I was done with my food. That didn’t happen. They made it before my food came out. Then on top of that it just wasn’t good. Kind of crazy but it reminded me of Cool Whip. The shake just didn’t taste like ice cream. It was not good. I’ve never done this before but I actually took it back and asked for my money back. It was over $6 and I thought I could get a better shake at Braum’s for half the price. Then on to the food. I got The Millionaire burger ($16.50) and the Treat-yo-self Twisted Cheese Fries ($8). The fries tasted like they had been sitting for a bit. The cheese was stuck on the fries like how it get when you make nachos and it starts to cool. So it was just warm. It could have been so much better if they had been made fresh where you pull a fry and you create this long cheese string. Instead you pick up a fry and you get a whole section of fries with it. The burger was ok. Again it just didn’t seem that fresh. Picture wise it looks good but it could have been better. Lastly the place just wasn’t that clean. You could see crumbs and stuff on the floor. The table had their kind of sticky film on it. Tables that weren’t cleared. Granted I guess it was 8pm and they were already getting in shut down mode so they weren’t going to be cleaning up just yet. Just wasn’t their day.
The food is average, not to say that we would not go back on another visit to Lubbock, but there was nothing extremely special about the food. Friendly service and the staff was willing to explai…
Honestly I had high expectations after so many people recommended it but frankly it fell short. We ordered delivery and it was even close to correct. I did a create your own with pepper jack cheese, bacon and Chipotle ranch. Instead they gave me a normal plain burger with lettuce, onion, pickles and ONE tomato. The food was cold. The fries were hard. It had potential but it’s pretty clear they don’t care.
Was way overpriced nobody was there and still had to wait 20 min for a undercooked burger used to be a good spot guess they fell off over the years
We are disappointed. My Husband and me came here for the second time. We’ve already been eaten there in january and LOVED it. I’m from germany so I only visit twice a year and was very excited to come back to the twisted root. This time was very different though. The person that took our order seemed like they are in a very bad mood. They didn’t ask any questions nor gave us the receipt. The fries were the most disappointing thing of it all. The first time we’ve been there I fell in love with them. I praised how good these fries were. This time they were all burned. Unenjoyable. And they sized down in their drinks too? We really enjoyed the burger on the other hand. We also had good fried pickles. Overall: we’ve payed around $44 which is not justified for the service and the food we’ve gotten. It’s sad to say that we are not coming back.
We had such high hopes after reading the other reviews, but unfortunately we won't be back. The shakes were more like warm whipped cream than ice cream and were so hard to get with the big straws they gave us. I ended up using a spoon but it really was like eating straight whipped cream. The burgers looked amazing but were meh. My hubby said his was dry. Edible for sure, but not enjoyable, especially for the price. I was also disappointed that their cream soda was more like the butterbeer from Harry Potter than actual cream soda. Lastly, the fries and onion strings were pretty floppy and not nice and crispy. We spent $45 on 2 shakes, a big burger, onion strings and a kids meal. The service and atmosphere were great however. Very cute inside and the staff were super friendly and fast. Just wish the food was as good as the other stuff.
I love their food. But an appeal for Twisted Root (beer) burgers was the Twisted. Root. Beer. They changed the menu - got rid of my favorite. Upped prices. Meh. I might be back but probs not as regularly. This used to be my birthday spot but when you get rid of a huge part of it, kind of kills it. You know? That was the unique competitive edge. Sides aren’t good. Bad fries. Awful onion rings. Freshman 15 costs waaay more than I remember. And it’s about how it was before. So the burgers are alright. I miss how this place was when it first opened.
Because of the snow they were closing at 5, we came in at 4:20 and they said they were already closed but someone, who i assume was a manager, said they would take care of us and it was no problem, and every single employee complained right in our face. We ordered and gave a $20 tip (50%)because we felt super bad. We got our food and absolutely nothing was right. I ordered a burger with everything on it plus bacon and chipotle sauce with a side of homemade chips…. I received a burger with lettuce, a singular tomato, and a barely filled side of chipotle sauce. I also received a side of super soggy fries which i didn’t even order and didn’t get my chips. We left at 4:40.
My experience today at this restaurant makes me consider ever coming back to this place. The customer service was horrible, the cashier seemed very rude and acted like she didn't want to be there. …
Ordered delivery Vagabond, salad and fried pickles with the $3 Chick Norris water via GrubHub. I'm about 5min staying at hotel \n\nPossibly the fault of GrubHub delivery but the order was received …
Ordered the Low Rider burger, absolutely no seasoning, no taste! It was awful! A Whataburger is 100% better than this over-priced burger!! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
Whenever a person orders food and comes to pick it up and you forget to put all of their food in the bag, you should have to deliver to the person who already went out of their way to pick it up the first time. I'm so sick of restaurants not getting it right and having the same stupid answer. "You can come back and get it or ill issue a refund" How about you do your jobs right Linda! How about you read carefully and double check it all! It's YOUR JOB. You get paid to do it. Why would anyone pay you to sit around messing it up? So sick of it! And the fried pickles were swimming in grease and nasty. BTW your fries taste burned. Nothing at all about this place says I will ever be back. It sucks, the food sucks, and they dont know how to read. Save your money and frustration and just go to buns over texas!
Everything in here is disgusting. The menus are nasty, soda fountain, silverware, tables and bathrooms. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. The burger wasn't anything special, just low quality beef stacked with onion strings. This is the nastiest bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant, they might clean them once per week at best. I just ate there and already feel sick, nothing is sitting well
This place used to be my favorite but the last two times have been bad especially for the price. I came and the soda machine tasted like syrup with no carbonation and the manager said to me, “our soda is different than other places” and I had been there 10 times before so I know what it tastes like. Then instead of taking my word she tasted all of the sodas and was clearly disgusted. She did not offer me a refund or anything to compensate my 3 drinks I paid for ($10 total). The next time I came which was yesterday the service was terrible at the front counter and I ordered their new chicken tenders. 3 of the pieces were so hard I could not even chew thru it if I wanted to. My wife and my son were both sick from their burgers and my wife threw up her whole burger in the middle of the night. I would not recommend this place anymore, while I was there I saw workers in the back sitting on the kitchen counters and chatting. For the price of these sub par meals it is definitely not worth it I average $50 for a family of 2 adults and 1 child and for that amount I expect much better.
We had a family dinner yesterday. Usually a good experience but not this time. My wife and I both got a millionaire burger. Both of them tasted burnt and salty. So he fried appetizers had the same burnt taste. Spent $70 for 4 burgers and the combo platter of fries, pickles, chips, carrots and green beans. All for burnt tasting food. The cashier that helped us was rude and wouldn’t even look at us. Felt like we were bothering her by ordering. This is definitely the last time we visit this place.
We showed up on a Tuesday, 5-13-25 with a party of 7 at approximately 8:45pm. 15 minutes before close. We were told we would have to order to go as they were making preparations to close and were clearly not welcome to dine-in. I understand this seems to be the new trend, letting customers know they won’t be hassled with staying a few minutes late to accommodate their business but I certainly don’t like it. My wife even offered we dine out on the patio but they were uninterested in even making that accommodation. To be clear, we like the food and atmosphere. It’s a nice place. But to be told we’re not interested in probably a $150 ticket because it was too close to closing time tells me our business is not appreciated so our two families will take it somewhere else from now on.
Got Uber eats got a good deal thru Uber but got a under cooked burger which ruined my wife's meal I mean if your a burger place that only does burgers youd think you'd be able to actually cook the meat correctly....Uber did refund but for the price of the food here if they can't even cook a burger why would you spend that amount of money
I ordered the Big Tex and it was beyond disappointing and I didn't feel comfortable eating it. I ordered it medium rare and it was extremely pink, more so than the pictures. The bun was also soggy on the bottom to the point where it fell apart picking it up despite me picking it up less than 5 minutes after the said pick up time. The fries were also cold and not crispy, along with the onion straws that are supposed to go on top (and burger). I am not sure how long my meal was sitting out, and mixed with the raw meat, it made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I had it to go so I couldn't speak with a waiter to fix these issues, so I wasted $17 on a meal that I couldn't eat.
Walked in, Noone greeted us, it was not busy at all. Ten tables that were not bused. Three employees behind the counter, one leaning against the counter facing the kitchen. A young girl was walking around the dining area, apparently not cleaning up the tables. The food in mediocre, the All American burger had wilted lettuce, small tomato, which looked like it had been sitting at the prep station for hours, the beacon didn't have any taste, which is wierd for beacon. The fries were cold, were overcooked and had no taste. l have had a better meal at Wendy's. I can not recommend this restaurant and to make matters worst, I went against my policy of no tip for counter service. So they got a tip for lousy service and lousy food. If the tables haven't been cleaned, I can't imagine what kitchen looks like. We were there for about thirty minutes and Noone cleaned any of the tables. This place needs a manager who can actually manage a restaurant.
Ordered an hour ahead, got here and then waited an additional 45 minutes for our food. The place was not busy at all (see picture) We watched people order, get thier food, eat and leave while we waited for our online order. We asked at tge desk and they seemed confused that we hadn't gotten our order. Just said they would re-make it.
They would not honor a gift card. Person said it was expired. There is no information on the card about expiration dates. The number to call for balance inquiry is no longer in service. Just bad business!!
We first started coming here in 2021 and have noticed continued declines in food quality, increased prices, and general management apathy. Hadn’t been there for over 6 months and found out they no longer have their previous self brand of sodas. My spouse’s burger was supposedly medium and it was raw in the middle. When this was brought up to the manager, her response was “ that’s how we cook our burgers medium well”. Well gee , we’re not talking high IQ here, when does raw = medium. What would the health department say? She didn’t offer to make it right, thus a scathing review. I will never come back here again and may contact corporate as well, depending on how ornery I am feeling
This was my worst food experience in Lubbock. Wife and I wanted to try a new dinner spot. This was a costly mistake. I ordered the millionaire burger with an egg medium ($18.00) Burger was raw. I took one bite and I thought I was going to be sick. Egg was over cooked also. Asked the front counter and they said that burger was not cooked correctly at all. Got a replacement patty that was so over cooked it was inedible. It felt like the cook was was mad because he had to remake it. I have had many Wagyu burgers and this was the worst hamburger I have ever had. We ended up just leaving without bringing up the second terrible burger that was received. 38 dollars for two burgers, string fries and a drink. Wife said the original burger was ok. Lacked seasoning. We both commented that Blue Sky is a much better option. We will not be returning.
Wasted almost an hour of our day trip to Lubbock. First red flag I noticed was that when we came in, there was not any clean tables to sit at. I wound cleaning off a table myself. We waited almost an hour for our buzzer to go off before I finally went and asked for an ETA on our food. Their response was someone probably took our food. This place was a dumpster fire and should have just shut down for the day. They gave us a refund and we left unhappy. All tables were still dirty when we left and the place was disgusting. Honestly we dodged a bullet. 🤮
This place is terrible!! If I could put zero stars I would. We asked for all our burgers to be well done and they were all pink in the middle. Onion rings were soggy and cold and fries were cold. We had them remake one of the burgers that was way too pink and it still was not well done and they didn’t add any fries to the plate when they brought it back. Will not be returning!!! 🤢
If I could give this review zero stars I would. I ordered a BigTex burger cooked medium, with no tomatoes, and an order of fries. 1. The burger was absolutely raw through and through. 2. There wasn’t any avocado on the burger and the onions were basically raw. 3. This might have been the smallest helping of fries I have ever received, or $5?? That is ludicrous. This was an absolute disgrace of a burger and fries meal.
