Cosa dicono i clienti di Pizza Boise
Pizza Boise (Guido's) is loved for its NY-style pizza, especially the thin crust. Customers praise the friendly staff, fast service, and reasonable prices. Some find the pizza a little floppy, and a few experienced issues with phone orders.

Been coming here since 2000 as relocated from Connecticut in search of a new york style pizza. It's as close as you're gonna get to back home as far as a thin crust pizza.
Hands down my favorite pizza. The crust is thin but not a cracker. The cheese is melty, the food is fast. You want quick and delicious just choose from what they have ready to go. The white sauce pizzas are always good, and the cheese and basil is my go-to. I get a bottled beverage to go with mine, perfect for a quick lunch. When I have lots of people over, this is the pizza I go with as well, their biggest pizza is huge and a few can feed an army.
I go here every couple weeks for their delicious pizza and garlic sauce. They also have great friendly service, Matt and Brandon seem to always be there when I am, and they're always very helpful and welcoming. If you're new to town, you have to check out this Boise staple.
If you are truly a New Yorker and are looking for anything even remotely close to the flavor of a NY pizza in the Boise area, this is the place. I like pepperoni and asked for an extra order of pepperoni. The crust was very good and so was the rest of the pizza. This will be my go to place when my relatives from NY come visiting.
I was tasked to pick up Pizza for our company event. We ordered ahead and our huge order was ready. Our employees loved the New York style Pizza. I'm sure our next event Guidos will be at the top of the list for food. Thanks again for the great pizza!🍕
Honestly the dough is great, it's been raised great with the yeast, if you ask for well done it will be the perfect undercarriage and flop with the bubbles you crave. Overall 8.3-8.4 with the portnoy system, a little greasy but that's because they pack on the cheese
Guido's has great New York style pizza. The pies are huge and a great bargain. The atmosphere is very basic strip mall appearance but don't let that fool you. The food more than makes up for the atmosphere. If you're craving a true New York style pizza, find your way to Guido's.
God I love Guido's! Someday I'll write a song extolling their virtues, but for now, a review will have to do. Honestly, where else can you go to get an awesome, gigantic slice of pizza and a good beer for less than $10? Their regular and daily special pizzas are all delicious, and it's a pleasant place to relax with a slice. Go! Soon!
First time here and really enjoyed it. New York style. Really liked that you can get it by the slice. Ordered a basil slice and it was delicious! The thin crust was both crispy and chewy and the slice was huge. Overall, a simple but delicious $2.50.
Great for single slices or whole pizzas, always very accurate with their estimates for time. Favorite lunch spot for sure
They're so sweet and the food was 👌 perfect 👏🏽💯
The short little girl that works there does a decent job. The other guys there are very helpful. The pizza's taste great, plus all of the different flavors are awesome.
I’m typing this review because the pizza was so good it moved me to write a review. I just finished what I am considering the best pizza I ever ate, anywhere…for all time. It’s amazing. They get busy so if you call at 6 on a Friday or Saturday it’s gonna be a minute. I’m thinking of instituting a “we only eat guidos pizza rule” 🤤
Great pizza for the money. The garlic bread with marinara is a favorite too! Typically doesn't take longer than 15 minutes if they're not busy, By-the-slice is even faster.
We love Guidos! I appreciate that they plan out pick up orders so that your order is hot and ready to go when you arrive. As far as thin crust pizza in the Boise valley, this is the place to go. Their sauce is delicious, their toppings are fresh, and the pizzas are huge. It's a great place!
best New York style pizza in town. dough is perfection so I'd recommend the entire menu and I have tried it all. roasted garlic salsa dressing is the best they have-put it on the spinach.
Great pizza for a great price. The staff is friendly and the wait usually isn't long. If you like New York style pizza it won't disappoint, check it out if you find yourself nearby. 5 stars from the wife and I for sure! 👍🏼
Great authentic NY style slice. Their sauce on the classic pepperoni is perfect and their combination of spices makes every bite fantastic. Would highly recommend. OF course its a little greasy, but thats why its authentic!
Great local pizzeria. I visited Boise staying at the Springhill Suites by Marriott Boise, and I found Guido's Original New York Style Pizza just steps away from the hotel. The pizzeria has a local feel with a small open kitchen and some seating. People were steadily trickling in, and I can understand why. The pizza at this restaurant is great large-slice New York style pies—nothing fancy, perfectly cooked and served. The crust has a great consistence and flavor. The sauce is rich and well-balanced. The slice of pepperoni pie was large, a bit oily but not greasy, and well made—very satisfying. The garlic bread was a cooked-at-order crust with garlic and cheese and was delicious. TIP: get an order of sauce on the side to dip your garlic bread and pie crust—outstanding! The spinach salad was a large portion with a generous slice of tomato and cucumber. The prices were right on point. Overall, I think Guido's Original New York Style Pizza is a great value for very good local pizza. Recommended.
I'm actually from the northeast where pizza is made a little different, but basically, it was pretty good pie. Their crust is pretty good and the pie stays together while you eat it. That's the most important factor when having pizza.
Stromboli was very tasty. The crust was perfect. Got the sausage and pepperoni. It was great to eat at a place where the staff really want to be there. They greet you immediately and provide amazing service.
Love this place! The pizza is delicious and a huge hit with my kids (they're 10, 8, and 3)! They always have a daily special and it's always been crazy good! A personal favorite is their Buffalo chicken pizza! We'll be back really soon!
The flavor, size, ingredients, dough, everything about their pizzas are DELICIOUS!!! They take pride in their presentation and the sauce they use is so yummy. I can't express how much I love this pizza...like it is unreal!! Definitely if you haven't tried it, you must immediately go now...stop reading and go eat this pizza!
My family and myself have been going here for over a decade. They have been the one thing in Boise that has never changed. Menu and food has stayed almost identical to how I remember as a kid. I remember in middle school coming home from football and there was pizza and soda waiting for me. And every time we order, it’s instant nostalgia. Not only do these guys take great passion and dedication in the work they do. But have maintained a quality and delicious product that my family and I have enjoyed for so long. I’ve never once had a bad experience. I hope they stay around longer so when I have kids, I can bring them here and they can enjoy what their dad did when he was a kid. Never change guys, seriously… you are incredible.
Great pizza every time I have been here. The prices are reasonable and they always have a few slices of something good ready to go in the oven! If you are craving pizza this is one of the best places in Meridian or Boise to go!! They also have a location downtown!
I always LOVE GUIDOS! THE CLOSEST TO THE REAL NY STYLE PIZZA IN IDAHO! A HUGE PIE IS UNDER $25 & feeds 2-6 people. The slices are not as BIG as a real NY pie, but close! Not as greasy as the Real NY pie... not as Thin either. BUT, like I stated it's the next Best NY pizza Pie in Idaho!! My nieces and I love this pizza. Thanks for bringing your version NY pizza pie to boise!
I wanted thin crust, New York style pizza and that's exactly what I got! Delicious and affordable, I'll 100% be going back.
Great place to grab a slice for lunch. I have been ordering the Stromboli lately and omg it is sooo good and at a great price for the portion! Highly recommend these guys!
This was some of the best pizza we have had. The toppings had great flavor and the price was just right. Picked up our first pizza from here last week. Couldn't wait to eat it when we got home, then I couldn't wait to come back for more! Love it.
Will not go anywhere else in Boise for NY style pizza. Order a full pie and relax with a couple slices and and PBR while it cooks. Cheers to the staff, so kind and friendly.
Don't make the mistake of judging this place by the pizza behind the glass at the counter. Those are sold by the slice and tossed into the pizza oven before being served. Trust me when I say they come out hot, delicious and with a crisp that you can hear when you fold it in half to eat. At about $2.50 a pop it's great for a quick bite. Take home a whole pie and it'll become your families favorite pizza place. One of my top places to eat in the Treasure Valley.
This place is the best Boise has to offer for new york style pizza, no doubt. They use good ingredients and the flavor is close to NYC pizza. They sell by the slice or by the full pie. It’s easy to order over the phone (and you should if you want a whole pie) On a busy time you might not have inside seating, but there are also picnic tables outside. There is a lot of parking too.
Pizza is always legit! The crust is perfectly crunchy on the outside with the right amount of softness on the inside. Right amount of cheese and toppings. They warm up your slice so it's nice and hot through out, not just the out of the slice. Staff is always great and friendly. Your go to spot for the New York style slice.
If you’re looking for great New York style pizza you won’t be disappointed with Guidos pies! We had it delivered and it was great, definitely going to one of their two locations to dine in.
NY style atmosphere. Everyone working was friendly and busy doing their thing- fun to watch. The pizza was delicious! We ordered 3 large pizzas- cheese, pepperoni and sausage and one salad. Will definitely be back.
The pizza is huge! Almost won't fit in the passenger seat! Staff is very nice, I always feel welcome. That being said, I wish it were cleaner (the store) and had more tightly established standards for employee appearance. It's disappointing to get awesome food from honestly kinda dirty employees. In a dirty dining room in a dirty building. Sorry not trying to slam y'all but ya know sweep the floor blow off the side walk once ina while. Give the walls a quick once over that's all.
We love Guido's, especially their Stromboli. Unfortunately this time, one of our Strombolis was incorrect. We ordered a mushroom, olive, garlic and got a pepperoni pineapple. The other Stromboli was correct, but in the wrong container. The outside of the containers was marked correctly, so we can only assume it was a mix up somewhere. Regardless of it not being what we ordered, it was still good, and every other time we've come it's been perfect.
Very pleased with Guidos! I have been a loyal customer since I moved here in 1998 (I sure do miss the Cole Village location). They have the best New York Style pizza around. The combination of sauce, crust, and toppings is a taste treat! Tonight I got a carryout order and there must have been a mix up. The pizza was dead, cold, rock hard, and unedible. I called them back and the manager said come on back and we'll replace it, which they did. It was delicious as is usual. So great job on making the most delicious pizzas and having outstanding customer service! Keep up the great work!
Big fan! Love their pizza! Great tunes. My son and I hung out for a while this evening. Whole pies or by the slice. Love that we were able to try a handful of different slices. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Thanks yall
It is just like the NY pizza back in NYC. Lived there for years and I'm so happy Guido's is true to it....also, Fiona should get a raise. She's awesome.
Went here for takeout had pre-ordered and the pizzas were just coming out of the oven when we arrived.. Reasonable price The pizza's were absolutely delicious the dough Tasted fresh And delicious And the toppings we're just perfect. We are from upstate New York and wish we had such a good Pizza place near us
I was working in the area and I thought to myself that I am going to have a slice of Pizza always seen it never went in. Today was day. I have had New York pizza. And yes, there are certain spots in New York that are good. But this one is by far one of the best pizzas here in Boise hands down and I have a lot of pizza in Boise
Good NY style pizza! Crust was perfect for folding. Reasonable prices. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice selection of pizza by the slice
First time visiting today… looking for good, thin crust pizza… Guidos was right on target. Not only do they have traditional red sauce pizzas, they had my favorite pizza: white sauce pizza with mushrooms, sausage, & red onions !! Magnifico!! Definitely will be back.
I am always disappointed in new York style pizza. But I was out for a walk and passed Guido's, and have had a hankerin for pizza for a bit. Saw they did by the slice so ever the optimist i decided to give it a try. AND OH MY! Staff was instantly friendly, prices were surprisingly low. Then I ate the pizza. It was NOT a slab of melted cheese and bland crust. You could taste the cheese and basil and crust individually yet it melted well. The crust...THE CRUST! was thin yet crispy in a flaky soft way, held everything up. This was the best place I have ever had a by the slice, a New York style, and quick in and out with great staff. The 4 working tonight deserve a big kudos because they really delivered. Must have. The only problem i have is how many more steps im going to have to take on my day off so I can indulge here at least once. Week.
Great pizza. A little floppy but great flavor. Flop could be due to the drive home.
Pepperoni pizza crust was crispy and flavor was great! Best pizza I've had in Boise. My new go to for pizza.
Super friendly workers. We typically go to the downtown location but found ourselves at this Chinden one and it was just as good but more room for parking, bigger and more well lit, and - as previously mentioned - incredibly friendly employees.
Great NY style slice. Called in and placed my pick up order with a friendly, helpful guy by the name of Daniel. Pizza was ready on time and delicious. One of my favorite places in the valley.
Best pizza I have had in awhile!! Baked to perfection and not too greasy! Doordashed 2 large pizzas (1 cheese and basil add chicken and 1 white sauce) and a large order of garlic bread (be sure to order garlic sauce on the side as it makes it even better!) Very fast delivery too and still hot when it arrived! 5 stars!!! Check this place out!! I know I will again!!
I wish Guido's had either wood-fire, coal-fire, or gas-fire ovens, not the big electric commercial ovens. The flavor just isn't the same. I remember a foodie tour in Greenwich Village (2006) where we sampled all three fired styles of NY pizza. For a place outside Manhattan, though, Guido's is really good. The crust is a little thicker than what I remember in NY and so it doesn't have that soft fold (Guido's is a little stiffer). Also, there is no way to compare any crust to that made with limestone-filtered water from upstate NY. Good sauce and cheese. You can't beat the price at 3.50/slice. Large, just like in NY. Also, they reheat the slices in the big oven, not in a microwave as someone posted.
The best pizza around - and we came in here the first time not fans of NY pizza. It’s our absolute favorite place now of all the regular Boise stops (including Flying Pie and Idaho Pizza). We get a large cheese & basil, add pepperoni/mushroom/jalepeno and add 2 alcoholic drinks and it comes to about $30. It’s a STEAL for the amount of food. It’s a divey atmosphere but we like that about it! I do think they should add a changing table in the restroom (we had to change a diaper standing in the back hallway). Our main issue that management might want to be aware of is every time we call to do a take-out order, they say the wait is 45-60 minutes. We timed our last dine-in visit after they told us 60min wait on the phone and it took 12 minutes for our pizza.
I love pizza by the slice and I live pizza. They usually have a variety of choices to choose from. This time I got a whole pizza to go. Quality ingredients and very tasty. Would gladly spend just a little bit more here than other pizza chains. Still think prices are still very reasonable for what you get.
I find their pizzas to have a dichotomy. I find their normal pizza more meh. (Let me qualify this... meh pizza is still great food... just compared to other pizza places that I really like, their regular pizzas don't do it for me, they are good though). That is the negative. Now, lets talk about the positive. I live in South Boise, pretty far out. This location is several miles away, and I pass a number of pizza joints to get here. What sets Guidos apart (to me) is their white pizzas. They are refreshingly unique in the area, and amazingly yummy. I get a white with a handful of toppings and just love it. Unfortunately, the white isn't normally out to purchase a slice of, when you just want something quick. You have to buy a whole pie every time. So, it is a good pizza place, with more average pizza quality compared to the other non-national franchises in the area for normal pizzas, but they shine when it comes to a white pizza.
We like to stop for a quick slice. Options are limited and it depends on how busy. Not always consistent in crust thickness and some think you want crispy cheese when warming the slice. But great for something fast and inexpensive. We keep going back for the basil and unique specials.
The food here is a greatly appreciated change of pace from the chain pizza places in the area. They make the food fresh, right in front of you. The food is very good and fairly priced. My only concern is that they goofed up my order and they are about 40 out of my way. I still strongly reccomend Guido's.
Great thin-crust pizza! Generous on the cheese, but light on other toppings. We always call in for take out. They are usually conservative on the time it will be ready, so we arrive early to ensure we get it hot.
First time at the Chinden location. It was good NY style pizza. The crust was great. The meatballs didn't tast homemade which was a bummer. The salad was very fresh and you could tell the dressing was homemade. Just note...that if you don't like anchovies, don't order the Caesar.
I think this is pretty good New York style pizza. The crust is nice and thin while still having a good bite to it, and the toppings are simple but tasty. I think my favorite is just the chees basil pizza. The service could be a little friendlier, I felt like I was burdening the staff by ordering a pizza. Other than that, if I'm in the area and feel like a slice, I'd return.
Try the Stromboli if you have 20 minutes to wait - it’s awesome. Sausage and green pepper are my favorite fillings for it. Their pizza is good, but since they sell it by the slice they cook it, set it out, then re-heat the slice in the oven once you order it. It makes service faster, and I don’t know what they could do differently there. Regardless, it’s a great stop for some fold over pizza slices, and there are tables to enjoy the sunshine outside. Go have a piece!
We stopped in for a super quick lunch after going on a trail run. There was virtually no wait time, the pizza was hot and greasy with the perfect amount of cheese (just the way I like my New York-style pepperoni), and we were able to get just two slices to-go (seems like this is a somewhat rare offering; usually you have to pay a buffet price or order a whole pie). The only disappointment was the crust; so long as it had toppings on, it was great, but the thicker bit at the end was completely plain and flavorless.
Pricey but good old school pizzeria. My Stromboli (meatball and mushroom) was a little bland, but possibly my fault for choice of ingredients. Two of four stro.boli ended up mislabeled, but not the worst thing that could happen. The staff was busier than heck and wait times seemed to go with that.
The pizza is really good albeit a bit light on the toppings. I personally prefer a more chewy crust, where this pizza dough was closer to toasted bread(in the best way). Maybe they need to ship in some of that magical NY water?🤔 Overall, quality ingredients(just need more of them) and good pizza. The guys here are very nice but it's a strip mall atmosphere. We also got a sausage roll that was fantastic.
The white pizza was delish!! We ordered over the phone and picked up. The girl at the counter wasn't very friendly but the pizza was awesome.
Guido's serves up delicious thin crust pizza by the slice or by the pie. I think it's best to dine in so you enjoy it piping hot! Wine is $4/glass for a generous pour. If you're considering a slice of their unique "daily special" pizza, then go for it! It's usually the tastiest choice and a delightful surprise. Indoor seating is basic, but clean and usually not crowded.
We tried this place based on reviews. It has good thin-crust NY-style pizzas. You can buy by the slice or full pie. It's is a very casual takeout style place. Great for a quick bit, but not a good sit down place. Go for the food, not the atmosphere.
Good crust. Ordered the cheese and basil and it was light on the cheese and sauce.. While I don’t like cheese pouring off it was kind of skimpy on sauce and cheese. Dough was good though. If they add more the pizza would be great. Maybe I had a bad pie
Only a few types available. You have to come at the right time to get fresh pizza. True NY style-thin, good dough, tasty red sauce, and reheated at order. A satisfying slice of pizza on the go.
Dave Portnoy would give Guido's a 1. Maybe a 2. Yes, he's a total tool, but knows his pizza. A New York resident would give Guido's a "eh, it's okay" before throwing the rest away. I give Guido's a 3. It's not like a Google review makes someone say "let's get pizza elsewhere, I read a (good/bad) review on Google." And while I think the Chinden location has friendlier service than the downtown shop (staffed by rude Boise High and BSU freshmen, plus parking is so much easier), here are my opinions that no one will care about or remember 10 seconds after reading. Full disclosure - our household used to live in Chicago, the Bronx and Medford Lakes, one of us was stationed in Italy for 6 years, and we visit Queens each year with a focus on food. We know pizza. 1: If you've only had airport pizza in New York then you'll think Guido's is good authentic NY style pizza. 2: If you had tourist trap pizza while doing the Manhattan trip thing then you'll think Guido's is good pizza. The price is right, portions are good. But the taste is downright generic cheap ingredients with no profile. It's flat. It's not quite cardboard. It's hot and fun to eat. But the crust can barely hold a basic cheese and basil slice. It's too thin at the end. Total flop. Guido's is to New York pizza as Taco Time is to a Mexico City street vendor with 40 eaters in line. As a business owner I wouldn't change a thing because Guido's will continue to sell a boatload of pies to anyone who said "yes" to the #1 and #2 or for families that enjoy the social aspect and excitement of having a giant white box of pizza brought over. It's a cool thing to be part of! But we as diehard pizza eaters can't find any sweetness, no bite, no cheesy hit or subtle sour (in a good way). I doubt the owner reads these, but he/she/they need to revisit what a real NY style pizza is to refresh their memory and why they're in the business of selling slices and pies. But, again, why should they? I'd guess 99% of locals have not eaten good NY pizza. Dear owner(s): Go back to Brooklyn. Spend 3 days eating. In my opinion Casanova's pseudo New Haven style Margherita (not available by the slice) is closer to a true NY style pizza than Guido's. We will wait for a trip back East before having pizza again. Guido's is pretty good when it comes to "Boise pizza", but as a "NY Style" pizza it's disappointing.
The pizza at Guido's is fantastic – great flavors and quality ingredients. However, I feel that the restaurant's focus on politics and social messaging detracts from the overall dining experience. When I order pizza, I prefer a more neutral atmosphere without being reminded of political or social issues. If they could dial back the political undertones, it would make for a more enjoyable visit. Still, the food itself is worth trying if you're just there for a good meal.
I think you need to have blue cheese if you want to be considered a 'new york pizzeria'. Also, pizza is the worst of the three I've tried in the area this week and last. By a mile.. Sauce, cheese, and bread are all quite disappointing.
Has really gone downhill. Music so loud the pizza guy kept saying "huh?" as I was trying to order. Tables were all dirty. Staff stand-offish and not friendly. Felt as if there was no heat on despite it being very cold day. Two guys with long hair kept flipping their hair around and running their hands through it and touching the food. Not impressed.
The price was right, but the crust was soggy, toppings skimpy, and the 1/2 loaf of garlic bread isn't a loaf at all. It's just pizza dough with garlic butter on it. The service was surly, the guy cooking the pizza was super rude to the other employees, and they wouldn't even ring me up until after the locals behind me. Not impressed.
Have been going here for years, coming in to get a slice of pizza or 2. The pizza was great every time, but the recent couple couple of visits have been very disappointing. The pizza slices have had NO sauce on them, just pepperoni and cheese - very disappointing from a favorite spot of mine for a quick slice.
Price: I believe it was under 3$ per slice, very affordable. Quantity: Good sized slices of za. Taste: Was not very impressed in this category, was bland. Asked for Ranch to add some flavor and did not have. All I could really taste was the powder on the crust. Was almost like they forgot to put sauce on the pizza. Id love to give them another chance because the rating says I am wrong, but I felt like I ate two pieces of bread by the end of it. Experience: Workers were kind enough though they had four teenagers working in a small space that seemed to be standing around chatting. Looked like 4 people doing the job of 1 or 2. Ambience: Kind of a boring, out dated space. Though some of the pictures on the walls were interesting.
The pizza is pretty good but these guys act like New Yorkers when it comes to their customer service. They’re rude and inconsiderate. They make buying a pizza from them so difficult that I’m not sure it’s worth coming back. Twice now we’ve had bad experiences with them. This last time they would only sell me a full pizza that was ready to go at the by-the-slice price because of the “convenience”. They made me wait for another pizza while the other one just sat there untouched. I think we’ll stick with Lulu’s or Johnny Bronx.
I tried it for the first time. Pizza is too thin and with almost no ingredients. It’s expensive too. I paid 34.98 for what’s supposed to be a supreme pizza without any meat on it. I recommend you go to Idaho Pizza, flying pie or Chicago connection. You can have three all you can eat buffet pizza at Idaho pizza for 11 dollars.
The pizza was amazing the first time we had it a couple years ago. Since then we've been doing our best to recapture the romance, but the quality of pizza has just been declining, and never recovered. In addition to the sub par product our last few visits, this last time the Terrible customer service & Management has resulted in permanent irreconcilable differences. We called in an order an hour in advance for a Delivery; he asked me what time and I said 7. At 7:38 we called to check on our order & he told us they didn't deliver & we must've had a miscommunication due to a bad connection on the phone. I understand that, but we didn't want dehydrated, old pizzas that had been sweating oil under a heat lamp for over an hour, so we asked them to remake them so they would be fresh. He said ok, & asked us to give him 25 minutes to pick up our order. A couple minutes later, I received a call from them saying that the manager would not remake the pizzas for us. I explained that I had specifically asked for delivery & she said that her manager was, "unable to remake them." I let her know I thought this was poor customer service & they could keep their pizza's & that I would be sharing my review of this online. I said there is a big difference between unable & unwilling to which she replied, " l'll allow you to believe that..." and hung up on me.
I'm very disappointed. Granted, I've had their pizza and it's good. I called to place a large order for the local hospital. Just something nice for the folks on the front lines. AND, I wanted to support a local business. I called and explained what I was doing and the answer was, we don't deliver...call 5stardelivery. Long story short, I ordered 10 pizza for the doctors and nurses at the hospital and was charged 45+ dollars for delivery from Guido's to the hospital. Mind u this is like 1 mile in between. I get it... Guido's doesn't deliver. BUT, maybe, in this climate u would do something nice like I'm trying to do and just deliver the pizzas without making me pay 40+ dollars. Especially when I am trying to support a local business instead of a chain. I ordered 10 pizzas and hopefully the staff gets them and enjoys them. Ieven made sure that the staff was expecting the pizzas and they were so happy to hear it was Guido's. Make it easier for us to support u and our community.
This location sent the wrong pizza. It was supposed to be half cheese and half pepperoni with white sauce. When it arrived, it was clearly the wrong order with an unfamiliar topping. In an attempt to figure out what exactly was on it, I had a taste and realized they gave us a sundried tomato and basil pizza - not at ALL what we ordered. They skipped the white sauce, too, so it was a dry, sauceless pie. And the tomatoes tasted AWFUL! it was like getting a fresh mouthful of vomit. I spit it out immediately out of disgust. I tried the basil, and it too was bad. I tossed it all away. I'm not one to waste food, but it was far too nasty. It did not taste fresh, it was cold, and so I am disappointed and quite frankly UPSET after waiting 2 hours and spending $50. The other pizza we ordered came somewhat correct, minus the sauce again! My brother can attest to its terrible quality. I do NOT recommend, ESPECIALLY their sun dried tomatoes, unless you like a mouth full of fresh-tasting puke. It was TERRIBLE and regrettable. NEVER ordering from here again!!
We ordered Guido's via a local delivery service based on a recommendation. After a 90 minute wait only two of our three pizzas were delivered. Hoping to avoid another 90 minute wait and willing to drive the 7 miles each way to pick up the remaining pizza, I called the store to find if they still had the rest of the order. Scott, who claimed to be the store manager answered the phone and refused to discuss the issue with us stating that we 'had to call the delivery service' to get a resolution. Meanwhile, my granddaughter, who had been on her best behavior for a week and who's cheese pizza was the one missing, was hungry and very disappointed to say the least. Scott wouldn't even look to see if the additional pizza was around anywhere. In fact, he went so far as to state verbatim, "I have other customers trying to call me and I don't have time for you." After hanging up with him, I did call the delivery service who tried to place another expedited order with Guido's, the delivery service even went to the lengths of calling Guido's first to be sure they had the ingredients needed to re-order the entire order. Guido's confirmed with them that the ingredients were available and the order could be filled again. After another 40 minutes of waiting, I checked my order status online only to find a message that the vendor had cancelled the order due to insufficient ingredients!!! Guido's didn't have five minutes for me then...and I promise, they will NEVER need to make five minutes for me or my money ever again! To add insult to injury...both my husband and I had upset stomachs after eating Guido's pizza. For what it is worth, the person who recommended Guido's did later add that while the Chinden Guido's does have a reputation for bad pizza and bad customer service, but they have had wonderful food and experiences with the Boise Guido's.
Wow. Where to begin. The following is a true story. I called to place a pick up order on Saturday around 4:30pm. A man answers and quickly asks if I can hold. Sure, no problem. After 15 minutes of listening to this guy laugh it up with his coworker, I decide to hang up as he obviously forgot about the phone. 45 minutes later, the line was still busy as the guy still hadn't hung up the phone. A friend of mine didn't believe me that a pizza joint with practically zero indoor dining would leave their phone line off the hook for over an hour on a Saturday night, decided to call for himself. Shockingly, my friend gets through but not shockingly is asked to be put hold as the guy explains he has another customer already on hold. However, the guy clicks back over and asks to take our order (thinking we were the other customers, maybe?), so my friend starts to order but the guy interrupts my friend and puts him on hold. For the third time the guy clicks back over, acting like we are new customers and asks to take our order. My friend begins to order and the guy, again, asks to put him on hold. This time my friend, extremely frustrated, says no and asks why they are playing jokes on their customers. The guy starts yelling at my friend for the accusation. My friend hangs up. I call back asking if they take orders over the phone. The guy says of course we do. I then try to recap what's happened over the last hour and the guy starts getting mad. I asked for his name as I planned to report him to the owner. He claimed to be the owner and hung up on me. I should thank Guidos for the most awful, bizarre, but memorable experience I've had with a restaurant in my 40 years but i can't. However, I do vow to not only never spend another cent there, but to ensure every single person close to me also never spends another cent there.
I have been going to Guido's for 20+ years. The pizza has always been decent and the staff have been easy to like. That changed drastically tonight. I called in a very simple half and half order (only 2 toppings) for my children. I had to go over the order 3-4 times before the kid on the phone and I were on the same page. 20 minutes later I go to pick up my pizza, take it home and lo and behold - the order is wrong. No biggie, it happens. I call to let them know that the order was wrong. There was no apology, no offer to make it right - instead the same kid who took my order exclaims 'you just need to learn how to order a pizza'. Wow. Ok kid. I have been ordering pizza longer than you have been breathing air. A little customer service tip: don't blame the customer for your mistake. Seems simple, no?
We have been going to Guidos for 20 years. It’s a staple. The one on Chinden is awful! So disappointed in our pizza tonight. We usually go to the one downtown and it’s perfect! We have been to the Chinden location before but it has seriously declined over the years!
Got a stromboli with garlic and pepperoni to go and this is what I get a few pieces of pepperoni no garlic and burnt crust. I order here often and this is now the second time in a row that the toppings are non existent. I will not order from here again.
I have ordered multiple times and had great pizza, but this time will be the last time I eat here. Ordered a large 1/2 and 1/2. It came paper thin and crunchy. Worst pizza I have ever paid for. HORRIBLE.
My favorite pizza place seems to have changed suppliers or has a training issue. My last 3 orders have tasted like the dough/yeast is stale or not mixed long enouh and or not enough water. I could not get through one slice.
The guy with the Tattooed left arm selve is a real jerk! My wife and I usally order and pick our pizza up. That's it. The other day we were nearby and decided to go in order and wait. While we waited I looked at the sliced pizza. I went to the end and there was a pizza that I couldn't tell what was in it. The guy rolling dough and he asked me if I needed some help. I asked him what was that pizza. He said "It's the specialty pizza" and he went back to rolling dough and talked to his buddy. I figured maybe I missed where it was written. So I looked around (standing there) for while. No where was it listed. Finally another emplyee came over and asked me if I needed helped. I asked him what was the pizza. He said that it was the specialty pizza and named off what was on it. I thanked him and then the original guy looked up and I thanked him. However, my tone and look was "You're a jerk". I did not get a slice. We got our pizza. He knew what he had done because when we left he looked up and tried to give me a head nod. Really funny! You want to be a jerk go do it to someone else. We'll may go back, but order over the phone and pick it up. One more chance. I cannot judge the other guys based on a jerk. He was rude and a jerk.
Trying to order a pizza at this location is literally like pulling teeth. They don’t answer the phone, and when they finally do, they’re less than enthusiastic. When we tried to pick up our phone order, we found that it was “given to someone else” and were asked to wait while they remake it even as the only person in the store at the time. Then, they remade it wrong and gave us one pizza when we ordered two—apparently they also lost the ticket? We ended up leaving with two pizzas still, but one was made wrong, and the other must’ve been someone else’s that they gave to us to get us to leave. I’d understand if this was a busy Friday night but as the only people in the store the whole time and calling ahead on a Sunday evening, I don’t know how this turned out to be such a headache. On top of that, the customer service is just terrible from start to finish. It sucks because we like the pizza and live right around the corner, but after this experience I don’t think we’ll be going back.
