Outstanding meal from start to finish. From the warm welcome through to the food coma-induced stagger back to our room, the experience here was top class. Started with a couple of cocktails which were as fresh and tasty as any in town. Our waitress (Janet), was only to happy to oblige with any food and drink recommendations if requested. She was excellent throughout the meal. Appetizer was the baked halloumi, a perfect account for 2 to share and save room for later. Mains were the Branzino and Hanger steak. Both cooked to perfection. The tahini vinaigrette livened the fish up nicely without overpowering it. The steak was a perfect medium rare. Pistachio cheesecake all round for dessert. Very rich, very tasty. Compliments to everyone involved with the operation here. We'll be back for sure.
Tre Rivali was the perfect spot for a belated birthday dinner with a few girlfriends. It was easy, vibey, and just upscale enough to feel special without feeling stiff. The ambiance was great: warm lighting, good energy, and the kind of place where you actually want to sit, talk, and order dessert instead of rushing out. I ordered the branzino and it was absolutely delicious! Very light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We shared hummus to start (always a good move), and then dessert happened. I had a pistachio cheesecake situation that was to die for. Like, the kind of dessert where everyone at the table needs a bite and then immediately regrets not ordering their own. Our server was lovely as well. She was friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and clearly knew her stuff. Her drink recommendations were spot-on, and every cocktail she suggested was a hit at the table. My only small annoyance came at the very end: I used valet parking for my Jeep, and since it was a weeknight there was only one guy working. Totally understandable, but it did take about 20 minutes to get my car back, which felt long when you’re ready to head home. Not a deal-breaker, just worth noting. All in all, it was a great night with great food, great company, and a really solid dining experience. I’d absolutely go back -- if for no other reason than that pistachio cheesecake alone. 🤤
Food and drinks were absolutely delicious! We started with the whipped feta which I highly recommend. There were good vegetarian options for me as well. We ended dinner with the butter cake which was to die for.
Located inside the Kimpton Journeyman hotel. Italian focused menu, wine list is eclectic but offers superb choices and underrepresented regions. Service was on point. The focaccia bread is a must!
We loved getting brunch here during our stay. The food was fantastic and the service was great, especially with our server Shawn! We enjoyed the smoothie bowl, steak and eggs, and breakfast pizza most. Portions are large. Would definitely return!
Every dish felt intentional, like someone actually cared about balance and texture, not just portion size. You can taste the patience in the cooking. Left satisfied, not heavy.
Absolutely love their brunch! The pancake is an add on but super fluffy
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would, Tre Rivali deserves them all. They quickly accommodated our party of 15 which grew to just over 20. The staff were exceptional, patient, welcoming and always with a smile. The food was absolutely delicious, mouthwatering and packed with flavor. Each bite teased, tempted and satisfied every sense. My kudos to the Chef for creating an exceptional menu! He is a genius ❤️ and we tasted almost every starter, entree and dessert.
The grilled branzino fish is one of my favorites. I had it in many places, but Tre Rivali easily makes it to the top. The fish was fully cooked, yet moist and flaky, and the flavors were subtle and not too overpowering. We also tried the hanger steak, which I highly recommend it to get it medium not well done. This is a very flavorful cut and if there is one place in MKE who can do it right is tre rivali.
We had lunch on Friday afternoon, the Aperol spritz was really wonderful. Then we split the chicken kebab and the chicken sandwich - so flavorful! Our server Sean was excellent! Then breakfast the next morning - whoa! the breakfast pizza was the BEST! Our server Drew was so excellent. We took the other half of the pizza home and had it the next morning. Might have tasted even better the second day!
If you are looking for Mediterranean foods and big flavors that you typically would find in big cities like Chicago, Paris or Miami, this place has it!! Have been here several times and absolutely LOVE this place. The lamb kafta is the best I’ve had in the Milwaukee area. Moist, tender and bursting with flavor! The Mediterranean salad is ELITE. Their non-alcoholic drinks are also delicious. Janet was our server the first time we went and this last time. She is absolutely awesome and gives the best recommendations for foods to try! She’s very attentive and has they best calm energy and vibe. Shout out to Janet!! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Had one of my best meals in Milwaukee here. It was packed on a Saturday night but the supervisor let us eat at the couches, which is actually what we preferred since it was away from the huge hustle and bustle of the rest of the restaurant. We came in through the hotel side so we mistakenly bypassed the hostess, but it was not presented as an issue. The toddy and punch cocktails were delicious, but the shwarma hummus was one of the best single items of my trip. (I don't remember the exact names.) Nice atmosphere, stellar stellar service, and really delicious food.
We came as group to try out this place and we really were not disappointed. We started with a couple of appetizers (Lamb Kafta and Meatballs) and that put us in a really good mood. We then moved to entrees: Campanelle, Spice Rubbed Half Chicken, Lamb Shoulder Tagine, and Hanger Steak. Overall the 4 entrees were fantastic but the weakest was definitely the chicken; not because it was bad but it was standard. The pasta was delicious, creamy, and full of mushrooms. The Tagine was nutty and full of bold flavors that i never experienced before and we truly enjoyed it. The steak was great but they needed to take it back to get it to the right temperature and that of course messed with the juiciness but it was still great. We ended the meal with 2 desserts: Tiramisu and Toffee. I'd definitely be getting the toffee again and again but probably not a huge fan of the Tiramisu. Overall, we will be back for sure!
Even in the weeds, the servers still rocked it and delivered some damn good food and espresso! Y’all should probably hire more people to help.
We were excited to try this place for dinner with some friends after only going for breakfast/brunch in the past. It is a lovely restaurant with a classic feel, the space is broken up enough that you don't feel like you're dining in a large restaurant. Dining on a Friday night we made sure to make a reservation. It was just starting to get busy when we arrived and by time we left the restaurant was full. We visited during downtown dining week and was pleasantly surprised with the delicious options available on the special menu and the regular menu. We all ordered something different, some from the dining week menu and others from the regular menu. I order the arancini, truffle mushroom pizza, and the butter cake from the dining week menu. The arancini was good but felt like it was missing something on flavor for the sauce. The truffle mushroom was bigger than I expected but very good. The butter cake was also delicious but very dense. I definitely left full.
Every aspect of the experience was top notch! Our server was so kind, attentive, and helpful . The foods (we collectively tried nearly everything) were AMAZING, and the atmosphere was comfortable and classy. They also have an upstairs bar, overlooking the city. This was the best place to wrap up our evening catching a nice sunset, with some cool drinks and many laughs! This was many of our first times here, but with the service and good eats/drinks, we will assuredly be back soon and often!! Thanks Tre Rivali, wonderful business you have here!
This was one of the best food and service experiences I’ve had in Milwaukee. Maggie was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time and gave us some delicious recommendations and they were all 10/10. Will definitely make the trip from Texas to Milwaukee again just for Tre Rivali.
Negative: our server was slow as molasses. She was nice, but daaaaang was she slow. Positives: the food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed house made whipped cheese with za'atar seasoning and olive tapenade hummus to start. Both had a wonderful depth of flavor. Our cocktails sang with bright fruity notes - mine came with a roasted and smoked slice of pineapple which imparted a tasty counterpoint to the sweetness of my drink. For our entrees, we dined on a pappardelle bolognese and a truffle mushroom pizza. Both were fantastic. The pizza was a surprise to me because of how well the flavors mixed. Sometimes truffle flavor can be overpowering but it wasn't - it mixed perfectly with the delightful cheese and mushroom flavors. With the bolognese, I wish the pappardelle were al dante, they were a little softer than I like, but I guess that's just me being picky. Last, but not least, was the constant attention and delightful discussion with the maitre d who made the long waits of the server tolerable.
I have dined here a few times and I enjoy the fact that the menu changes periodically. This time we had the gnocchi, pizza, meatballs, and pasta. Everything was delicious. Service was great, staff is friendly, and the place has a wonderful atmosphere.
As soon as you enter the place, you can enjoy the scent of the fireplace. The atmosphere is modern and relaxing. The options during snack hour are tasty; my favourite is the arancini with Nona’s sauce. Drinks are great, and there are zero-proof cocktails too. I enjoy having brunch or dinner every time I visit Milwaukee. I highly recommend the place.
Was recommended by the front desk of the hotel we stayed at. They suggested the charcuterie board which was amazing. Tasty drinks. Flavorful pasta yet the portions were a little small. Wasn’t a be deal. Friendly staff.
We came for breakfast and were extremely happy we did. Isaiah is fabulous and a top-notch server - he was quick, pleasant, and anticipated all our needs. We would come back just for him.
It was a sunny Labor Day. We visited our Marquette freshman and took him to Tre Rivali for a brunch. Although the service was slow, the patio had a great ambience, food was well prepared and the cappuccino tastes better than I expected.
Through the power of friendship, I found Tre Rivali for dinner for my birthday. Our server, Desiree, made excellent recommendations. She referred us to the scallops and grilled branzino. Highly recommend both. Our bartender, Jacy, served us an excellent Tiki cocktail that paired magnificently with the vibe of our evening. What I appreciated most was care for our table between servings. Chelsea and Adrian left us clean elbow room when plates were done. Desiree offered us the toffee pudding, oil cake, and cheesecake to conclude our night. Pairing their house limoncello with the recommendation of oil cake concluded our fantastic night.
We just had the best breakfast experience. Drew was amazing with attention to details. Definitely coming back!
Sticky toffee bread pudding is to die for. So are the pizzas, the lamb, the ceasar salad, all the cocktails. My daughter and I love this place!!! Peter is the best bartender in the city!!!!
We had the swordfish and the branzino - absolutely delicious!!! The baklava cheesecake…just WOW! Our server, Janet, was a rockstar! We will definitely be back!
It was amazing! The pizzas were delicious, and I usually am not a big fan of pizza or anything with lots of cheese. The servers were all really nice, and the atmosphere was cozy warm and luxurious all at the same time. The food was definitely more out of my comfort zone; I ended up getting potatoes and broccolini for dinner because I’m basic. The potatoes are the most perfect fingerling potatoes ever. Seasoned so well—without having an oily texture. Really great eating experience, would recommend the margarita pizza.
Stopped in for breakfast on our way to do some shopping. We were seated immediately and had a nice table in the main dining room. Our server, Sean, gave us a thorough rundown of the menu and brought us coffee and tea in near record time. I’m a simple breakfast kind of guy, so I ordered eggs, sausage (which was fabulous!), fingerling potatoes (seasoned perfectly) and wheat toast. Great way to start the day. My wife ordered the avocado toast, which she raved about. All in all, we were very impressed with the meal, the server Sean and the atmosphere. Thanks!
Had a nice Sunday brunch here. Ordered the avocado toast and the arancini. Both very yummy. It’s my first time visiting MKE and my bartender Danny G graciously gave me enough recommendations to fill up my week! Recommend for good food, good vibes, and great staff.
Went to Tre Rivali with my entire family and everyone loved it. I got the hanger steak, which was delightful. Perfectly cooked! Our waiter was extremely attentive and helped my family make sure we could get everything we wanted considering our allergies. Ambiance is great, we really liked the vibe in general. But the FOOD! Everyone's entrees were great, and the 3 sides for $27 was really awesome. We tried the salad, the patatas bravas, and the broccolini and everything was packed with flavor. We were so happy with our experience and are looking forward to coming back.
A fabulous experience! I went on Sunday around noon and expected it to be packed like all the other places serving brunch but I was seated right away. I was greeted by the most friendly and enthusiastic server I’ve ever met, Mimi! She made my experience there so memorable and welcoming that I just felt like I was meeting with a friend whenever she came around. She took the time with me to go over any questions I had and I never felt rushed even though she was busy with her other tables. I also took note she took the time with her other tables too and always had a smile on her face. I had the most satisfying breakfast and tried their baked brioche French toast but a smaller portion. It was almost like a bread pudding, so crispy and crunchy on top and creamy deliciousness underneath. It reminded me of when my sister would bake goods at home and had me try them, you could really taste the love in it. It truly was delicious and I’m so happy I gave them a try for brunch. I’ll definitely be back 🌟
Tre Rivali was an overall great experience! We sat outside, right in the third ward. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We had the brussel sprouts (my favorite, they were excellent), Ajvar, Spicy Sweet Pizza, and broccolini. The cocktails were also good too. A bit on the pricier side, but worth it for a good date night. A plus it is part of the Journeyman Hotel, and you can pop upstairs to the Outsider right after for drinks!
This was a truly delightful evening, enhanced by the outstanding service of Janet who expertly guided us through the menu with suggestions and recommendations. We basically put our choices in her hands, from appetizers through dessert. And the choices exceeded all of our expectations. The menu is creative and reflects a genuine passion for abundant flavor by the master chef. You can always tell when a restaurant and their staff love what they are doing! What a treat! Our food was obviously cooked to order and arrived piping hot! Thank you! Plusses include a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, surroundings that afforded quiet conversation and a meal to be savored. So looking forward to returning.
After being asked to leave "The Capital Grille" (review posted) even though we had a reservation, I made a reservation with "The Rivali" and we were warmly welcomed. The service was awesome and they accommodated our dietary restrictions and requests with ease. Everyone enjoyed their food. Thank you for the amazing meal
My first time coming to Tre Rivali. I will say it was an overall good experience. The chickpea soup, Brussel sprouts, and salad were really good. I thought the broccolini didn’t have any seasoning. I think it would have been better with some kind of sauce on the side. The service was great our waitress checked in often. And the overall ambiance was great really easy to talk to someone without other conversations over powering. I will say give TR a try and definitely get the soup!
Had a nice family Sunday brunch. The servers were really nice, and they handled our toddler quite well! Hoppel Poppel was excellent, the bagels and lox were great, and my son enjoyed his kids grilled cheese. Had to have bloody marys, too. It's really a nice, quiet, upscale brunch spot. I'm sure we'll be back again soon.
This was my second visit, and I’m happy to say it was a much better experience than the last time. The coffee was rich and flavorful, though it took quite a while to arrive at the table. I ordered the Steak and Eggs, and it turned out to be a great choice. Both the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, delivering excellent flavor and texture. However, the potatoes were a bit tough, which was slightly disappointing. I also requested sourdough toast but was served two small scraps of bread instead, which felt like an afterthought. Despite these minor issues, the overall food quality was solid. With a few small improvements in service and attention to detail, this place could be even better!
Did breakfast here one day. The service was definitely slow, and I wasn't given salt/pepper that other tables were given. Even though it wasn't busy it seemed to take a really long time to get water, place an order, etc. Food was decent, but nothing I'll remember for very long. The outdoor seating is very nice, but I wish the music from the speakers wasn't as loud as it was. It's part of the Kimpton Hotel.
Came for happy hour on a friday, sat at the bar. Zeke and Peter served us, they were super friendly and helpful in suggesting a cocktail. I had the fleur de sole (probably spelled this wrong), it was sweet but strong and had incredible flavor. The kitchen was a little slow to get us our appetizer but the food was worth the wait.
Food-was good. A bit overpriced though. Portion sizes were small compared to price. Service-was pretty slow considering that it wasn't very crowded. Still kinda crowded though. Atmosphere-was about how you would expect in a restaurant like this.
Perfect location, great atmosphere (the wood grill aroma is amazing) and the best service by Ben. Seating is generously spaced to allow for personal conversations. The charcuterie board (which changes daily) was an excellent portion of meats, cheeses & misc for two. Beet Salad was one of the best I've had. Wood grilled branzino was very tasty. The 4 stars for food were due the spice rubbed chicken being dry and the bread pudding dessert not being very tasty.
The atmosphere is super cute. We had the private property rose which was very good, meatballs were pretty good, falafel was a little dry but good, hummus and pita was fantastic, gnocchi and pappardelle were both fantastic as well. The only disappointing dish was the chicken (pictured.) The flavor and sauces were pretty good but the presentation just wasn’t what I expected. Would go again and get the falafel, hummus, pita, and a Mediterranean salad!
This is a restaurant that serves Mediterranean food. It has a very good ambience, good service and good food. Here the paella doesn’t have meat... it seems to be just a rice bread ball. Big plate serves well two people. The chicken is very good.
Absolutely delicious brunch. Pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. Also, the bloody mary is a homemade mix and is well seasoned.
Love the vibe of this place but was not a huge fan of their pizza. I recommend getting their pasta if you do come here as that was good. The service is great and can go upstairs to the outsider for a drink after dinner!
Tre Rivali offers a warm and welcoming dining experience. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and well-timed without being overbearing. The staff made the meal feel relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. That said, the menu felt surprisingly short for an Italian restaurant. While the limited selection made it easy to choose, I would have liked to see a bit more variety, especially among pastas and entrées. Still, everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared, showing real care in both presentation and taste. Overall, Tre Rivali delivers solid food and great service in a stylish setting — worth a visit if you’re looking for a quality meal and attentive staff, even if the menu could use a few more options
Came by this spot for a little date night with the wife since we weren't able to go to our usual Italian spot near by. Anyways, on entering the space I recall smelling a nice wood burn from the wood fired pizza oven which was pleasant. Started off with some really excellent cocktails and appetizers (lamb based sausage on some charred pita and a tasty beet dish). Honestly had we stopped at that point, it would have been a 5 star experience, however once the pasta and pizza came out we left feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied. Pasta was very small in portion, and never have I ever had a potato pizza. Both seemed to be over seasoned, which was odd considering the balance of the appetizers we had ahead of time. Anyways, awesome cocktails, apps, and vibes. Bummer on the main courses. 'Til next time, cheers!
I was so excited to try here, so I was definitely disappointed with our experience. The menu is extremely pricey for the quality of food. I was not happy with my pasta texture or flavor. The pizza was average. The service was extremely slow even though it wasn't superb busy. I don't need to go back, and if I want pasta, I will go across the street to Onesto.
Well, I think it may have been short staffed but we waited about 25 mins to get a table and food was slow. I was a little more hopeful for my acai bowl, they even forgot my spoon. It's just not a tightly run ship, we came down because we're hotel guest. Hopefully this is received as constructive feedback.
