Good quality tuna. Dragon roll has eel on the inside. Sushi pieces are nice and big with a perfect portion of rice. Little family owned business. They have a fax machine and copier inside on the sushi bar. I’m sure they’d let you use them if you ask them nicely and tip them. I order here with Daiki Sushi is closed. It’s because I’m addicted to sushi and I can’t wait to drive more than 5 minutes to Alhambra so I stay in Monterey Park. I’m surprised I don’t just eat in the car as soon as I pick up the food.

The sushi rolls are fresh and tasty. Extremely friendly staff. Clean cute spot to dine in. Easy to find parking. Prices are very reasonable and they have a lot of other options besides sushi.

25 years ago was my first visit and I'm still a regular. My kids practically grew up loving authentic Japanese food because of the kindness of the owners and the care with which they make the food. It's a relaxing restaurant.

The decor is kind of dated, but don't let that fool you. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty, and grilled salmon was perfectly cooked. No wonder this restaurant has been here for decades. Highly recommended!

My family and I love Japanese food and it was the first time we were coming to this place with my Mom and Daughter. The place is clean and the food was great! Very fresh and the chicken teriyaki was delicious! Our tempura too! We got this plate that has chicken teriyaki and tempura and there is also beef and tempura or seafood and tempura you choose. Very good service and will come back again. 👍

I was here with my friends and it's a hidden gem, its really quiet and a lovely vibe. I was able to taste test Orion and ichigo which I would have never been able to try elsewhere! The service is a bit slow as a fair warning since it is just the owner who does multiple jobs. She is a lovely lady and I will definitely come back to show my support! I had the spicy calamari which was on the spicy side which I loved, the eel + rice bowl which came with miso soup, which I loved very much. The eel was really tasty and miso soup was very flavorful as well. Calamari rings was well battered. I also had the premium sashimi plate which has scallop, octopus, tuna, salmon, blue fin tuna, and I think swordfish. It was all really good!

I don't understand why this place is slow when other japanese restuarant are packed and food deliveries are stacked when the food here at Sushi Sai is the best I ever had, none of the other places come close to the taste here. It's been in business for over 30 yrs so you know why their food is so satisfying. You gotta stop throwing your money away and stop here first, you won't regret it.

Haven’t tried that fresh and well made rolls in a while. 150% recommended !!!! Try it, you will not be disappointed!!! Old lady who makes them are super nice and friendly!!! Great service!!!

I’m very picky with Japanese food as I grew up eating it. So, when I found this place (which is a mom-pop small restaurant), I felt right at home. Everything was so authentic! . The fish was fresh, the noodles were delicious, and the appetizers was great! I had the unagi, yellowtail, uni, amaebi, scallop, octopus, edamame, sukiyaki, zaru soba, and miso soup. To boot, customer service was phenomenal. Will definitely go back!

The rolls they have to offer are the BEST rolls i have ever had! Not to mention the prices? Beyond reasonable! I've seen high-end restaurants charge more for less. Be warned, there are only 2 workers now, so please be patient, it is worth the wait. I encourage anyone reading this review to try out their Alaskan Roll at the very least. These workers put their pride and joy into the food, and they are beyond kind with all their customers.

After 0ordering a basic teriyaki & tempura dinner...I can say that the food was great and reasonably priced. They close at 10pm, which is a plus. :-) It's definitely a "local's place and I get the feeling it may have seen better days. BUT.. Let's all enjoy their food and their service and make Sushi Sai shine!

We regret so much eating at this Japanese restaurant. The sashimi was totally discolored and tasted bad. There was only one other table of customers but we had to wait for more than 30 min to get any food. The easiest thing to do is California rolls and yet it came out like a big lump of rice with no avocado or cucumber. The dinner served the salad mix with the teriyaki beef on the same plate so the salad dressing got mixed w the teriyaki sauce which tasted terrible. The server was rude too when we complained about the wait. We wasted money and time at this tiny pathetic Japanese restaurant. We won’t go back for sure and wanted to warn people about this very old , bad hygiene restaurant.
