The best gay bar.
This second life for G Bar is going fantastic. Good job.
Great place meeting friends
Small chill lounge with good drinks and plenty of seats - decent happy hour. You can actually hear the person you’re with. My only challenge is how to get women in here. I’ve been here 5 times in the last 6 months and I’ve never seen another female… just me. Sadly, I might have to go back to Cubby but it feels like a step down to do that.
Maicon was AMAZING! Will definitely be coming back repeatedly!
We had a fabulous time! Our server, Maicon, was so wonderful. He took great care of us!
G HAS A COOL YOUNG CROWD RAPPED AROUND THEIR CIRCLULAR BAR. THEY ALSO HAVE A HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE TO ALCHOLIC DRINKS. FREE COAT CHECK HELPS MAKE THEIR PRICY DRINKS MORE MANAGEABLE.
A cool 😎 place for people to mingle and chill. Love the crowd and the staff for being friendly and respectful. We support!
Amazing weekday happy hours with great drag shows.
This is one of the premiere gay clubs in NYC. If you're from out of town, then you need to start here. G Lounge is a safe and friendly environment in the Chelsea area, and you need not worry about the surrounding area. It's loud, so make sure you bring your ear plugs :) blasianFMA
The venue is pretty nicely renovated, great new vibe!
G lounge is a fun place with a very diverse clientele.....some of the people complaining are probably just cheap and not used to not being the only cute dude in the room...but they all did the right thing, you don't like it..LEAVE....no one wants Debbie downers at a party, misery usually brings company!!!!
So much fun!
Wow 🤩 the vibe and energy of the new G Bar is amazing. Great drinks!! Wonderful creative drag shows and great rotations of DJs.

Mon bar preferé dans Chelsea et vive le happy hour okaaay. Clientèle très diverse et variée mais serveur mignon hihi okay
still the standard bearer for what a gay lounge aspires too even though at this point it's been around forever.
The service and vibes are a major upgrade from Rebar, and Julie J on Friday's is a big reason why me and my friends come. One thing though that is a little frustrating...a mocktail (the zero-tini) was just as expensive as a Kettle One and soda ($15) which I think is an interesting choice. I understand the culture shift to drinking less but pricing a mocktail just as expensive as a Kettle and soda will be a deterrent. I would love to understand the reasoning behind that
probably one of the less pretentious and most welcoming gay bars in nyc. you'll always find a decent mix of people.
It's a fun and very exciting place to visit. Great crowd, music is awesome. The vibe is great.
Strange layout. The circle bar in a slightly wider concentric room makes it quite crowded around the bar at all times. Very loud music. Good mix of guys though not much people really danced probably because the layout isnt conducive to it, but not great for just lounging with friends since its so loud. I would say, its made for checking out guys.
I love this place, everyone is in a good mood, you can meet so many different types of people! No stereotype. The music is excellent. Bring cash, no credit card.
Premier gay lounge where you can enjoy their G-Licious Happy Hour until 9pm. Cash only.

נחמד מאוד, נעים, 1 פלוס 1 בין 16:00-21:00 . מוסיקה נוראיתתתת טראש פופ אמריקאי.
Had a bad experience with a server last night. He was very rude and awful. Beside him, everything else was good.
I'm thinking about going to more gay bars and yet I haven't really found the right one and this bar didn't really help
Hard to believe they're still around while other gay bars in Chelsea have gone the way of the dodo. It started out as a very upscale bar back in the 90s bringing a different level and quality of bar/lounge option for the LGBT community (although for years it was almost exclusively gay men who went there). Now it seems to be hanging by a thread, the decor is very dated and the walls were wrapped in fabric which was a canvas for an art installation almost 2 years ago which now is a dirty mess. Several bartenders have been there for as long as I can remember and they're quick to remember your favorite drinks and are super friendly (usually after 9pm or 10 they go shirtless and pantless down to their speedos.) Great happy hour until 9pm with 2 for 1 specials. Each night usually has a different theme and with it a different crowd and scene. The place is a of popular with women whether straight, lesbian, but or curious.
Visited last night. A bartender misbehaved us. Otherwise it seemed a nice, though I don't think we will ever go there.
It's glory days are behind her...but all hope is not lost. If only they changed the TERRIBLE wall paper, I'm certain they'd attract a better crowd.
A fairly nice bar with more of a black/African-American clientele. My only complaint is that the drinks are a bit weak for the price.
Decided to check out the newly rebranded G Lounge. Interesting since the space doesn't have any semblance of the old G other than it being in the same space. The artificial flower installation with the lights was cool, and they made some upgrades to the space. Shout out for the electronic coat check system! My issue is that I ordered a hard seltzer in a can and soda water poured from the bar gun, and it came to $19.50. Nope.

Gay bar with interesting circular bar. Clientele can get a bit sketchy late in the night.
Fun place- does not take credit cards
Pretty lame bar. Should close soon.
Went in everyone is watching Drag race on tv, $18 for a Jameson and coke. Not even a full shot. Never going back.

New owner singled me and my friends out in an empty bar because he wanted us to check our coats , we felt a little singled out and triggered as a Latino group. Not coming back . Franco knew better
I use to love going to this bar but I will never go here again. Idk who this man is, if he is a manager or coat police but if you are there with your coat your going to be harass by this man. I just wanted to grab a quick drink, check the vibes but once you have a drink and put your coat in an empty seat, that coat man comes from the dark and harrass you until you check it in. Mind you the bar was not full at all. He made me stand up, picked up the bar stools and he put them away. Very rude! No thanks! I'll go to the other 100 bars around.
girl a mess - staff and customers rude
Weird militant policy about checking your coat and coming up to the table every 5 seconds asking me/harassing the whole group to check their coat; it was beyond annoying we left
Menu said all draft beers were on happy hour. Bartender said no. Will not return.
Just a gross gay bar that’s always empty with creepy clientele and management. Go anywhere else.
I haven't been to G-lounge in 5 years (until last Friday night). Big mistake! Now I remember why I abandoned this place in July 2011. The clientele is literally ghetto. My first time at "G" was in 2005. But back them, the crowd was diverse meaning it was a good mix of gay men of all shapes, sizes, creeds, and colors. Three friends and I decided to check out G-lounge last Friday to get a jump start on our Pride weekend celebration and one of my friends (who happens to be black himself) felt out of place and uncomfortable. Funny thing, his exact words were "Jesus Christ, what the f**k happened to this bar?! Hoodrats all over the damn place". We didn't even order drinks, we just left after a few minutes and wound up in Hell's Kitchen anyway, despite our plan to spend the evening in Chelsea and wait til that Saturday night to hit the gay bars in Hell's Kitchen. In spring 2011 after Chi Chiz closed, the management of G-lounge implemented a $10 cover to steer away the riff raff that started flocking to their bar. That didn't last but maybe 3 weeks due cries of racism and the fact that it alienated the four of us and the rest of those who were considered G-lounge regulars. Getting to the point, we realize now that G-lounge is a "lost cause" as a result, so we decided to "write it off". Most of the gay nightlife activity goes on in Hell's Kitchen these days anyway. Especially since the ROXY closed 9 years ago,
Absolutely awful. I used to visit this place from 97 to about 2003 and while it was never my favorite, still crowded even then, u could at least walk around without having to push your way through a throng of people who refuse to move. Yes, this and Ritz are like that. Have to literally push your way in and they act extremely rude, like YOU'RE being disrespectful just to get around the damn bar. Ridiculous. And the clientele, mmmm..... this has turned into an almost all-black bar with str8 women. The str8 women walk around like they own the place. And the guys are pretty obnoxious. Most guys who go to bars a lot ARE obnoxious, but this is to another level. Was there 20 mins and walked out.
