This is place is small, but is very very peaceful. Great prices for their food and don’t get me started on their coffee, their coffee is amazing!!!!!!! Sergio is so kind and as a first time customer he made me feel so welcomed, excellent customer service. I will definitely come back.
This place is incredible. Perfect neighborhood spot. Always very friendly service. So much variety on the menu and it is consistently delicious. Definitely one of my favorite spots.
I love this cozy lil spot. I eat brunch every day there. Service is wonderful n so are the workers. I highly recommend this place to go eat or just chill out. Good smoothies too.
My room mate and I come here almost everyday for our daily dose of coffee and vibes! The staff is so kind, and the food is well priced and fantastic! Live, love milas!
The Melano sandwich was delicious and the cashier/waitress was really nice! I’ll definitely try to come back to taste another one of their sandwiches.
Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Bagels are affordable and delicious. Honey Wings are big, meaty with complex flavor. Cheesesteaks are awesome too. Mila’s Cafe believes in seasoning... so the generic Philly steak will not be received unless specified. Best for last, 24 Hour Soaked French Toast Chicken and Waffles. Thank you!
Great little place, comfortable with in/outdoors seating. Good friendly service, nice relaxing background music. Basic traditional breakfast and snacks. Good coffee. Definitely recommended. Cash only.
Love this place service is always great and it’s our favorite place for breakfast sandwiches!
Cheap and bono 🤩 I loved my blueberry pancakes and addition the server is very sweet. Make sure tip her. Enjoy fella’s!
Good food at a very fair price. Excellent pastrami panini and pancakes. The service is fast and the waitress is kind and smiling!😀. We would definetely recommend this place.
Fantastic prices be aware they are CASH ONLY, very friendly workers and decent seating space. Home-cooked style breakfast and fresh smoothies. ❤❤
I don’t usually do reviews but I love this place. So well priced and the man that works here in the morning is so kind, and shockingly fast for doing everything on his own. Pay your local neighborhood cafe a visit :-)
Neighborhood cafe which is inexpensive. Indoor and outdoor seating, with good food. At times can be noisy when inattentive parents of disruptive children are seated inside or outside. The quality and and price of the food is worth taking the risk of possibly sharing space with behaviorally challenged children and their clueless parents.
Great food, great service, it was a large group and our order was taken and delivered correctly and pretty quickly.
Great place! Reasonably priced and delicious. Wish that they had reusable plates for to-stay customers but other than that amazing
Even with our large group of 13, the staff at Mila Cafe made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the portions were pretty large. Most of us couldn't finish our meals in one sitting! We didn't have to wait long to receive our orders, and everything came to us exactly how we had ordered it. You can't beat the price. It's really a no frills place, but what made this spot a gem was the friendliness and hospitality of the people we met while there. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself.
This cafe is unmatched in all of UWS. The food is very solid (challah French toast is amazing and they do a great fruit salad with mango and berries!) and for a good price too. But it’s the delightful service that really seals the deal for me. Swing by here for breakfast or for lunch!!
Amazing place to eat, I’m a local in the area and I have been coming to this place for years. The vibes are very homey and warm, the food is always amazing, and the customer service is always a delight. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the city, and I have not experienced one bad day coming here. The place is cash only and there are only two people working there and it can get very busy so pls be nice and patient. Overall a 10/10 place and I highly recommend visiting. :)
This place will have my heart forever ❤️ The customer service is top, the climate - one in a million, no tourists, typical American vibe, and of course food - delicious. 🤤 I do recommend! Will come back next time in NYC for sure.
Very nice spot on Upper West Side; prices are surprisingly very reasonable, especially for neighborhood, and food was of good quality. Recommend for small, casual gatherings or for take out. Important to note that in the theme of being Greek, they only take cash wish is something to note.
Mila is just so great. It has an excellent sausage egg and cheese. Everything is good, really. The people who run it are very sweet and take obvious pleasure in you enjoying your food. I just love this place.
tasty and affordable bacon egg and cheese
Very polite and patient staff. The French Toast is a must have. Moderately large portions for fair prices. A full breakfast for two will run you around $14 - $22. One of the best diners in the area.
French toast with fresh fruit + coffee. Tasty and affordable. One man shop - guy does it all - shall def return
This place is my favorite little breakfast hole in the wall. The hours can be variable, but when the place is actually open it’s excellent food for a very affordable price. My favorite time to go is in the warmer months because they have ample outdoor seating. I see it as a community gathering place for the neighborhood. :)
I love this cafe! I love the pancakes, the eggs and the shakes. I walked all the way from east to west for a bite. I love the spirit of the place too! Pro immigrants and In support of Muslims. They know their message and they send it across! Please STOP using plastic plates and spoons. Bad for the environment. :/
amazing DELICIOUS most flavorful thing i’ve ever had. this place has made me decide to move to new york. the cashier girl is the sweetest girl ever and i wish her all the best ❤️❤️
A small place close to central park. The way they treat their customers makes you feel very special. I had a mocha, and the “taso special” with extra turkey. I was afraid that the croissant with the taso special would be a stale leftover. It was quite the opposite. The croissant was perfect, the omelet, tomato and avocado were all great, and the way they grill their turkey gives it an edge. The mocha was great too. I also noticed that a disproportionately large amount of people walk in for their coffee, which vouches for it, but I have not tried it on its own and would not be able to judge. Overall very happy with my breakfast. Would watch out for busy hours as there are very few tables indoors. Outdoors seating was not set up when I was there.
Food was 4/5, coffee 2/5, but service was 5/5. Evelyn made this place worth coming back. She was very nice, extremely good memorizing orders, and fast with her speed of service. A good dive for breakfast. Would come back.
I'm visiting NYC and found this place cause im staying nearby. I'm glad I did! Everyone is very attentive and friendly, food is to die for and prices are great. I've tried the french toast, grilled cheese, bagel with salmon and avocado, a chicken pesto panini and the pancakes so far. All of them were really really good 🖤 Iced coffe au lait, fruit smoothies and iced tea were my drinks of choice, also awesome. Definitely would recommend and come back when I visit NYC again 🥰 Love from Chile!
Best pancakes I ate in NYC! I loved this calm place away from the city's stressful streets, sat in the terrace and enjoyed the breakfast (pancakes and smoothie). The service was fantastic too!
The girl attending is amazingly kind . Prices are totally worth. I paid $5 for a chicken panini. The view in or out is awesome! Very beautiful place for staying with a book or a laptop
Simply the best! Fast, friendly, cheap and clean. Very cozy place. Pancakes delicious and fluffy, and OMG the French Toast best french toast I ever have.
Best place you find the day before you leave... That's for sure! We happened to find this cozy diner last day of our holiday. Casual but clean, really great deal; eggs and pancakes raccomended. You don't know what you've got til it's gone... Miss everything about New York, even the new yorkers!! :-)
Paninis here are the best I've ever had. Although the actual location is small and is easy to miss, the seating arrangements make use of the space very well. No bathrooms though and the pricing can get a little on the pricey side, but it is well worth it.
My husband and I live on the UES. We walk to Mila’s once a week for their pancakes and panini. Top 5 best pancakes I’ve ever had - bacon is always crispy and the panini is fresh!
Cozy little place with amazing food, coffee, and service. We visited from out of town and ended up coming back three time!
Great cuisine Excellent service Nice place for breakfast :) 50$ for 3people for brunch
Absolutely amazing. I cannot believe it took me this long to come here. The pancakes are great and incredibly plentiful, the omelette was fantastic. And the prices cannot be beat. I will be coming here regularly.
Nothing fancy just a great old school breakfast. Cash only so no plastic. Great service great food. Give it a go
Great place to grab breakfast that would taste as homemade. Quick and friendly service, very affordable prices, we were staying within 15 min walk from it and visited twice, would definitely recommend.
Good food at reasonable prices. Nice warm ambience for the winter. I had a bacon egg and cheese and my wife had the melano panini. Both were delicious. Coffee is good, too. Would recommend.
Staff is so nice!!!! And food is very goood, I got mushroom cheese egg roll and it’s perfect!!!!
Solid place for a cheap, good breakfast. I'm just mad that the owner won't spend a bit more money to pay some young student to work the counter. The cook can't do everything all the time alone on a busy morning. Give Sergio a break! I've seen people walk out because they can't stand there and wait.
We fell completely in love with the service and the food. Portions are huge! And the service is friendly and super good! We have nothing but love for Mila Cafe 😍 It’s cash only, service may take a while but is because the food is prepared with care. We had no problems to find table as people come and go.
Highly recommend. Cash only spot. (Opinion: reviewers that ding a business for being cash only are spoiled losers 🙃). Now for facets of this establishment that truly matter… food quality, taste, price, and service… solid marks all around. Good variety to their menu and each item is made to order and fresh! And most items are reasonably priced, especially for NYC. Service-wise, you’ll normally find the same cashier/server at the counter taking orders—she’s super friendly and patient. They have a small kitchen with normally just 1 or 2 people working so during busy times it may take 20-25 mins to prepare your order (on top of whatever wait time you had in line). So if you’re in no particular rush and can afford a leisurely experience… then give this spot a go. We’ve tried all of their sandwiches and salads. Our favorites include the Columbia, Philly cheese steak, and pastrami. Fries are pretty good too. Been eating here for 10+ years and will continue to do so!
Nice little coffee. I was very impressed by the food quality! Everything was very fresh and tasty, prices are low too, plus they have a large front patio to seat! They do everything on demand so dont be in a rush, however the waitress was extremely nice! Highly recommend
Mila’s Cafe is breath of fresh air in NYC and a reminder of what a joy it is to support small businesses. You can sit down or take out. It is CASH-ONLY. The food is incredible and so are the two employees; Sergio and the cashier. You can order any breakfast sandwich or platter, and the prices are truly reasonable. Sometimes there may be a line, so please be patient as there are only two people but the wait is well worth it.
The man who served us was lovely and the food is amazing for the price. It's very good if you're on a budget holiday in New York I would personally say that the food is better than some of the expensive restaurants. Although the restaurant could do with a revamp I cannot complain about the quality of food
Cozy, neighborhood cafe owned by two locals, the brothers who also own the Mani Market across the street. Great food, great coffee, ample portions, friendly, completely unpretentious. A favorite neighborhood hang for decades.
Let's take a moment to appreciate that this was only 6 dollars without the eggs... And it was DELICIOUS, in a city where everything is extremely expensive this cafeteria was my favorite of the city, their customer service was TOP in NYC. Congrats for the owners and the workers of the place, because you can only feel good vibes in there 👌👌👌
A delightful culinary journey with impeccable service. The flavors were bold yet balanced perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
SO GOOD ! Had the pancakes with fruit and a coffee. Delicious first time I get fruit added onto my meal and it’s so fresh. Low key- chill atmosphere. Amazing customer service. The girl taking my order was extremely kind and helpful. The only negative would be they only accept cash. Which I actually support but just need to know this advance so you don’t feel limited with your purchase over how much cash you have with you.
Mila has quickly become my favorite spot in the neighborhood! The staff and service is second to none- they are so kind, hard-working, and focused on the customer, always taking their time to make sure they get everything right. The food might be even better! It is so consistent and exceeds expectations every time. The pancakes are perfect, the egg sandwiches are better than any around, and the coffee is delicious! All simple and no fuss, and always spot on. You can't go wrong here!
I was looking for breakfast that would not break the bank. This place is super lovely and the service is amazing. They are open to accommodating individual wishes to your order. I had the Taso Special which was made super quick and the service is very friendly and accommodating…definitely worth a try!!!
Really great place to eat a wonderful breakfast! We had a pancake and a BLT, and both of them were delicious, and reasonably priced. Actually, the size of the pancake is enough for 2 persons. We also had fresh smoothies, which were exactly what we were expected. Finally, the smiling service, fast and efficient, makes this a great place to start your day. Thank you again !
I LOVE MILA CAFE. The workers (so sweet) ! The atmosphere (feels european) ! The food (Delicious) !!!! It is the best place for a quick breakfast/brunch/lunch. Make sure to bring cash because it is cash only. I don't eat out often but this is by far the most visited place I go to when i need a reliable and affordable bite.
A great little local place, a complete gem, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. As tourists, we were treated like locals by the one man running the entire place, serving and cooking with a constant smile. A very popular place for the locals with people willing to wait for their "usuals" and all knew Sergio by name. Food was incredible, definitely the best pancakes we have ever had and for the most reasonable price.
Only been here for Sunday brunch 50+ dollars all you can eat... come hungry... Crushed like 2 lobsters and other seafood goodies... They also had some hot items and standard breakfast staples as well... Bloody Mary looked great, but I wasn't drinking alcohol... More of a high end type place, with very good service... If you wanna throw down the gauntlet and binge eat seafood on a Sunday, this is a great place to do it... It's North Shore vibe through and through... But that's fine by me... Nice place...
Good and affordable food, would go here again. Only the interior seems a little neglected and old. Sitting outside is totally fine though. Definitely recommended.
Great prices and quality but the place needs a interior renovation. It has huge potential for growth and stability.
A little dingy looking, but quick, polite service and very tasty (and attractive) food was served to my table. They have a small outdoor section if the weather is nice, and pretty ample indoor seating if it's not. Menu needs major price update: panini are $7.95, NOT $4.95. Cash only.
i had their panini sandwich, sooo good! the staff was really sweet. place was a little dirty and they don't take card but that's okay. my friend tried the bacon and egg and she said it was bomb af and she said she's acquired a new love for bacon and egg sandwiches (10/10), but she hasn't actually gotten any recently so i dont know, maybe she lied.
Relatively inexpensive breakfast/lunch spot. Nothing fancy, no frills. You can sit outside to people watch. The young lady behind the counter is a sweetie. Basic American. The BLT on a bagel with mayo is wicked good.
It's not usually too busy here but when it is expect to wait because the griddle is small and they usually only have 2 to 3 servers who are always pleasant. Breakfast and lunch options are vatied, tasty and made fresh to order. Bring cash and enjoy your food inside or on the outdoor, covered patio.
There is nothing about this place that is inviting from the outside. The tinted front windows are more at place in a bordello than a cafe. The tables outside are a mess. And once you get inside it’s not much better. That said, the young woman working the counter on the Saturday I went there with my family was beyond delightful, patient and professional. Not only did she welcome each customer, not only did she graciously take orders, she actually would bring said orders to the customers at their tables. Really, she could have just called out names, but she went the extra mile. The food was great and quite affordable too. The combination of the two brings in loyal locals, one after another, all waiting patiently in line. One major downer: There is only one (short order) cook and there really needs to be at least two. The wait is way too long. The owner needs to step up and find another cook. It’s not fair to customers nor to staff. All in all, however, a great experience.
The food was great and cheap. I want to give this place 5 stars because the one person working was working hard and very friendly. The problem was that there was only 1 person working. He was making all of the food, taking orders, running the register, and bringing food to tables. That is too much for one person to do and more people should be staffed. The wait time in line was longer than it should've been and that was not the fault of the one person working.
It's a neighborhood cafe and old. I go every Sunday for breakfast. Only 2 people are working there, but they're very efficient. They know my order and the waitress Emily is very good to remember anything, she also is a cashier, bartender, doing everything but very sweet and friendly girl. The cafe is busy on Saturday and Sunday. If you're in a hurry, don't go, will wait for hours.
Cash only. Fare amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The food was your standard diner eats. Prices were really good but it was cash only. Only issue is it was a small kitchen so there was some slow service between orders, very friendly. Not really an "atmosphere" but I outside has a view.
Ordered to go. Grilled panini with prosciutto, mozarella, and some dried tomato and peppers for $6.95+tax, simple sandwich with egg and bacon $4+tax, medium Latte $3.50+tax. These are very reasonable prices for the area. Menu is also quite extensive, with lots of different breakfast options and a couple of lunch options (burger, gyro..) I didnt see anybody eating outside that day (it was cold) but the seating outside looks a bit broken, and the door makes a very annoying sound, so I dont think I'd eat there for now. They dont accept card, only cash... this is not great nowadays, most people dont carry cash already, and covid makes it even rarer. All in all, good value and good taste, but not a spot where youd meet up with friends to eat. I think that's also how they can afford to charge less.
Sandwich was very good and the only staff beside the cook, was a very nice, cheerful, and very busy, woman. She seemed to know several of the customers by name. Not much ambiance.
The service was great but their best sandwich tasted like salt, their fries were fine but the ketchup tasted like sugar. Everyone eating there was old so maybe it's food made for people with dying tastebuds?
Regular customer, food is great but today they messed up badly with an order and refused to take responsibility- I can’t eat cheese so I ordered some sandwiches without cheese. All the sandwiches had cheese and then they tried to make me a liar by saying the cheese was mustard. Pathetic. Be accountable.
I'm not sure how this place is still in business. It's always empty and the food is essentially the same stuff you'd get from a breakfast cart (in type and quality). If you're looking for a good causal breakfast spot go up the street to Effy's Cafe, that's probably what you're looking for.
I was a little disappointed with this restaurant. The food and atmosphere were great, but it’s a cash-only establishment, which caught me off guard. In a city like New York, where card payments are so common, it feels a bit inconvenient. Make sure to bring cash if you plan to visit!
Might be good food as most reviews tell, but CASH ONLY ??? In 2025 in NYC next to central park?? I thought I traveled back in time to 2005 after entering the place… As I had no cash with me I had to leave… sad.
I don't know about food quality because I left the place before ordering. The cashier/cook was rude. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste the food there because that not how the service works. The cashier should question and lead the costumer's order. This was the first and the last time I visited the place.
I took my friend out to this place because we wanted to go to a nice breakfast spot in Manhattan. The reviews are misleading. We ordered two paninis and right after ordering I want to change the contents of my sandwich, and I was told my sandwich had already begun to be made. The place seriously needs to be cleaned and organized. There's a huge fridge that is out of place at the front where the customers sit. Even the door is difficult to open and needs to be fixed. The sandwiches were okay and reasonably priced. But this certainly isn't a nice looking place to go on a breakfast date. It's more of a cheap spot where you grab a quick bite and don't stay for too long.
