Always a great Saturday night date spot, love the live jazz (but not tonight), Scott and Justin are always top notch old school professionals. If your looking for a table it’s recommended to make a reservation because the space gets REALLY BUSY.

Went here for Valentines and oh what a treat. The duck order was so delicious. The live Jazz was perfect. The ambiance was so upscale. Will be back for the live music and cocktails.

If you’re in NYC, and want a cool experience, you’ve got to go to Campbells. The drinks were exceptional, and the service was just right. Attentive without being bothersome. And the atmosphere is super cool. Well worth the time, highly recommend. And I know it sounds crazy, but you have to get the c-chip cookies. They (strangely) go well with any drink. Once you have them, you’ll understand.

Tara and her team at The Campbell are absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, she made the planning process seamless and stress-free. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and professionalism ensured our event went off without a hitch. The venue itself is beautiful, and Tara’s expertise really elevated the entire experience. Highly recommend working with her for any event — she truly goes above and beyond!

A historical bar and lounge inside the Grand Central Terminal. They make a really good Negroni and Penicillin (ask for Ardbeg). The atmosphere is old school rustic. Food menu is limited to bar food but everything we tried was flavorful. The service is attentive and fast. The place gets really busy specially on a Thursday night, recommend waiting for a space inside.

Justin our bartender was phenomenal!! And Kevin, the bar back, was soo attentive. What a great duo!! Made us feel welcome and took care of us. Great cocktail. Great food. Great experience. Had us laughing and we enjoyed our time immensely. Thank You!!

Stopped in for a quick drink and got the best service and delicious drinks from Justin. Such a cool history behind the place, too. Definitely a must-go while you're in NYC

A dimly lit space with high ceilings and an old school luxurious vibe. Finding the entrance is half the fun — keep an eye out for signs of "The Campbell" as you enter and walk around Grand Central. The drinks are decent, and the bartenders are very friendly.

Stunner of a bar with perfect location to grab a cocktail before hopping on a train. The high-ceiling, low light space is downright beautiful and the staff are prompt and professional. Drinks are certainly pricey but they’re spectacular. Really enjoyed their Peachy Keen cocktail and espresso martini. And if you’re hitting Amtrak or metro north, consider using their lovely aromatic bathroom before entering the train station.

The Campbell is a must every time I’m in NYC. I live in Los Angeles, and this place feels truly special—timeless, moody, and effortlessly elegant. The vibes are unmatched, with old-world glamour, warm lighting, and a cinematic energy that makes you want to linger. The music is perfectly curated too—smooth, stylish, and sets the tone without overpowering the room. Huge shoutout to Christian, the manager, for making the experience even better. Impeccable hospitality in an iconic New York spot.

Unbeatable location, very unique jazzy 1920's NYC vibe, and extremely well done cocktails. Very cool bar and a great ambiance to take in.

Stopped in over the weekend. Beautiful space. Didn’t eat but had cocktails. Both mine and my wife’s were delicious. Bartender Scott was really friendly and made great recommendations.

Photos don’t do this place justice. Beautiful bar and lounge with a dark but warm atmosphere. Stopped in on a Monday after work and it was busy but still with space at the bar and a couple of tables open. I highly recommend stopping in and having a drink if you’re passing by Grand Central, however be prepared to pay $20 for a cocktail. Though I will say I had an Old Fashioned and it was worth the price.

You would think that the highlights in New York should be the sights... During our stay, it was the Campbell Bar. Apart from the incredible cocktails, the bartender Justin was simply the best in the whole bar! Someone who must also be mentioned is Fred, he has contributed significantly to our well-being! Thank you for everything! Everyone was so welcoming, we got surprise cocktails & on top of that local tips for restaurants to visit! We were in New York for 7 days, 4 of which we spent our evenings at the Campbell, once we were even there twice! (As you can see, we were thrilled) A big thank you to the whole team for giving us an unforgettable stay! We will definitely see you next year!

Unique cocktail bar in Grand Central! Friendly and attentive service, great drinks and the vibe is neat (dark and sexy). The space is small so it does get crowded. I recommend arriving when the bar opens or reserving a table, you can also stand at the bar.

The Campbell Bar is an institution but by far the best thing we experienced was exceptional first class service we received from Christian. Great ambience, great music, thank you Christian for making our NYC night one to remember.

Had a great experience here, Tom was our bartender. Super cool guy great recommendations for New York City and made delicious drinks. We had the bourbon noir, it’s a new drink on their menu. It’s not a sweet/dessert drink, it’s super well balanced, definitely alcohol forward with a slight backend of citrus and subtle chocolate notes, but nothing overpowering. Ask for Tom. Super cool guy, friendly and conversational (just enough)… definitely recommend this place! We’ll be back, thanks to you Tom!

I’ve been living in NY for two years, I finally made it to this bar with my best friend who is visiting NY, and it was totally worth the night! The vibe is amazing, it’s classy, cozy, and perfect for hanging out with besties or a date night. Thanks to Justin, our bartender was super friendly and made custom drinks based on what we liked. Each one was spot-on and delicious. We even got some complimentary drinks, which was a nice touch! Definitely a place I’ll return to! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a chill yet elegant spot to enjoy great drinks and good and vibes!

Very very busy, but you can get a seat by the bar (first come first served) if you’re lucky. The drinks were amazing, though. Highly recommended!

The Campell is a great bar built into Grand Central Terminal, and to be honest probably my favourite in Manhatten. Originally an office, it has also been the terminal's drunk tank, before finally turning into a rather nice bar. I found out quite a bit about Grand Central by doing an official tour, there's a link on the Terminals website. They frequently have jazz music being performed, which gives the place a nice sophisticated vibe. It's not the largest place and can get very busy as it has grown in popularity, I'd say the bar is definitely gaining more traction on social media. If you're part of a group I would suggest booking in advance if you want to guarantee a table, apparently the Sunday jazz session is extremely popular.

This place was hard to find but we persevered after walking around grand central for 10 minutes looking for the entrance. Worth visiting for cocktails, surprisingly busy and staff are attentive. 🍸 Being one of the bars from the Gossip Girl series was the main reason for the visit. 📺

Drinks are sublime!!! We had the best time, waiters are really friendly, food was delicious, I really recommend the artichoke and spinach’s dip, and the charcuterie board. Such a gem in the city!

I honestly can’t say enough great things about this place!! The holiday drink selection was amazing and exactly what I was looking for as a fun holiday lounge. They have an amazing selection of small bites to choose from. I came here with a girlfriend but I also think this would be a great first date spot. Do NOT skip the chocolate chip cookies… maybe the best in NYC! Can’t wait to go back

L

Very good cocktail 🍸 bar! We were party of 4 and we were limited to 1hr and 30min. Which I think is not enough time, especially people come and spend decent $, let them enjoy. But nyc changed with covid and they started enforcement of time slots and just kept it. Still 5 starts overall!:) very good cocktails and jazz music 🎷!

Loved this place. The decor, the atmosphere, the service, the drinks.. Everything was top top notch. Kudos to the bartender. They have live music. Place gets a bit crowded at night.

Love this place. I spent many nights here years ago and it has been a long time since I have been back. Awesome architecture, just a beautiful space with a great back story. My hostess Tara was tremendously helpful and professional. My bartender Harris was a real gem - a true gentleman who also made a hell of a great Manhattan! I look forward to coming back again and again! So glad it is still rocking!

This was one of the best places I went to all my trip to New York recently. Amazing selection of over 3,000 types of whiskey were available. The menu was full of amazing food so highly recommend you go there with an empty stomach. There was live jazz to keep us entertained and the atmosphere was very nice and cozy. If you are into whiskey at all, you should know about this place and if you haven't gone, you're about to get blown away.

This place is a journey to old times. The environment and the decoration are perfect. Food and drinks were ok but I got in love with the vibe and music of the place, a hidden bar inside the Grand Central. I highly recommend to visit if you are in NY.

I spent NYE at The Campbell with Dionysus group & I could not think of a more fun way to welcome the new year. From the ambiance to the cocktails - everything was perfect! Huge s/o to Christian for curating an unforgettable night, will definitely be retuning soon!

Stopped in tonight and half the space had a private party. The bartender immediately spotted us and said hello while handing us a menu. He introduced himself as Scott and made the best old fashioned and margarita that I’ve had in I can’t remember how long. The space is magnificent but the staff is top notch.

My fiancé and I had our engagement photo shoot here this past weekend and had a wonderful experience! From the moment we entered the bar, everyone we came into contact with in our time during the shoot was extremely welcoming and accommodating. We stayed after for some drinks and food and had such great hospitality and service from our waitress, Keeley, and bartender, Justin. The atmosphere is incredible and the people made the experience so much better. The drinks were also fantastic, as was the food! All around exceptional service. And a huge thank you to the events manager, Tara, for being so accommodating and helpful!

I visited the Campbell for my birthday, while I had to wait a moment as they were finishing a private event, Christian and the host team were extremely kind and accommodating. He checked up on us during the night to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The server also shared the same vibe, we felt really taken care of. We only had one drink but the food looked really great (will def have to try).

We visited from Dallas and of course we had to make it to the gossip girl bar. We met Scott and he was so attentive and awesome. We asked for recommendations of where to go in nyc around the city! If you’re in NYC must check out the Campbell, best hospitality!

I had an amazing experience at The Campbell in NYC. Scott provided some of the best service I’ve had at any bar—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made great recommendations, crafted excellent drinks, and created a welcoming atmosphere that made the whole night memorable. It’s clear he takes pride in his work, and it really shows. If you’re stopping by The Campbell, I highly recommend asking for Scott—you won’t be disappointed.

One of the best bars in NYC. I enjoy every visit and I’m always impressed by not only the quantity of cocktails on their menu, but by how exceptionally good they are. Easily the best old fashioned in the city, and for those who like a fruit forward drink, please try The Sling. The bartenders are phenomenal. I couldn’t say a single poor thing about them if I wanted to. Everything they’ve recommended to me has been splendid. We visited on May 14th and were surprised by the gent in the blue coat who was acting like a bouncer. He immediately approached me and demanded I remove my cap, rather than saying please. Then, once my friend and I got our cocktails, we decided to sit at the table on the northwest corner of the room. The same gent in the blue coat then turned spicy and told us that “this is a communal table, we need to have a space separating the guests so that they can have a more intimate gathering”. What a load of garbage. A communal table is there for, ahem, the community patronizing your bar to sit; especially frustrating since the other four people at the table seemed happy to let us sit. It’s an elegant bar, not a social club. Please don’t enforce weird regulations for those who come to enjoy your atmosphere.

Went on a Friday after work so it was very busy but we still got served quickly. Drinks were great and the atmosphere was very cool. I had the spicy Paloma which I thought was great, my friend had the fallen angel which she also liked.

I found this hidden gem on Valentine’s Day and I can’t believe I haven’t spent more time here. There was a live jazz performance, a chic ambiance and the staff was so attentive and sweet. If you’re looking for an intimate and classy lounge, I definitely recommend.

We recently hosted a private buyout cocktail reception at The Campbell for our company’s client gathering, and the experience was absolutely exceptional. The venue itself is stunning, elegant, timeless, and the perfect setting for a memorable evening. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and Tara along with her staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was handled flawlessly. Our guests were so impressed, and the entire event ran seamlessly thanks to the incredible team. Highly recommend The Campbell for any corporate or private event! There is a reason we keep coming back each year to host, and we wouldn't want to do it anywhere else. Thank you Tara, you and your team are a dream to work with.

Had a great time at The Campbell Bar in Grand Central with my two friends. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious, the Cosmo Midtown was perfectly balanced, and the kale and Brussels sprouts salad was fresh and flavorful. Our waitress, Macie, was amazing, super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back!

🎂 I celebrated my last two birthdays at the Campbell, most recently this past April in the Palm Court. Many thanks to Tara and the team for their professionalism and warmth, helping make planning the celebration seamless and the party itself stress-free. Tara covered all the details beforehand (and followed up after just to see that it all went well), Anthony was on hand to help manage any last minute requests, Scott was gracious (and creative) as bartender, and Aisha and Maia were welcoming, as well. The setting, the cocktails, the food - all on point, and all of my guests were impressed (some were new to the Campbell and are now fans). Looking forward to planning my next event there! 🥂

I worked on a large scale corporate event with Tara over the course of several months, and after having done the event this month, I can say that our group definitely plans to be back. From the food to the service to the immaculate vibes of the venue itself, everything was top tier. What also deserves a shoutout is Tara's on-site handling of any issues or questions that came up - very helpful. Looking forward to the next one!

Met some colleagues last minute here. Justin, the bartender extraordinaire, expertly guided us through the current and upcoming cocktail selections, transforming the experience into a delightful adventure. Stepping into The Campbell feels like crossing into another era, so rich is the history that surrounds you. The ambiance captivates you, and the drinks are nothing short of masterpieces. Truly, it's an experience you must indulge in.

Celebrated the New Year at The Campbell Bar with the Dionysus Group, and it was truly unforgettable. The ambiance was elegant and festive, the cocktails were amazing, and the energy felt so perfectly NYC. Huge shoutout to Christian for making everyone feel so welcome and for curating such a special night. Can’t think of a better way to start the year—will absolutely be back!

It’s giving hidden gem. Tucked into the upper corner of Grand Central, The Campbell is part cocktail lounge, part time portal. It feels like the kind of place where a film scene should begin, or end, or both. Earlier that night, I bumped into a post-humanist scholar. As one does. He invited me for a nightcap. He was smitten before we’d even sat down. (Which. Sure.) Flattering, but it felt like being handed a drink with no label. Deceptively strong. Pretty pink. Probably guava. Passion fruit walked so guava could run. And I get it — it’s tart, tropical, slippery with suggestion. But what about pacing? What about discernment? What about the glaring fact that we were literally drinking inside a train station. A room built for departures. I wondered if this was a stopover or something more. Either way, the drinks were good. Too good. I left thinking I probably missed my train.

Absolutely incredible New Year’s Eve experience at The Campbell Bar. The atmosphere was unmatched—elegant, festive, and perfectly curated. The space looked stunning, the music set the tone for the night, and the cocktails were top-tier as always. The staff truly elevated the entire experience—welcoming, attentive, and keeping everything running seamlessly. Christian was especially great and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Ringing in the New Year here felt special and so very NYC. Would 100% do NYE at The Campbell/Dionysus group again

The Campbell was recommended to me by a buddy, and it did not disappoint. The bartender, Tom, was an absolute pro, and made our journey through the different drinks on the menu & future menu a delight. The history of this place is so damn cool, and when you walk through the doors you are really transformed into a different time and place. The ambience is fantastic. The drinks were spectacular—overall a must try.

The Campbell proved to be an exceptional venue for hosting a holiday celebration that truly exceeded expectations. What many might assume is a traditional cocktail lounge atmosphere was transformed into a lively, energetic event complete with a DJ and dancing—highlighting just how flexible and dynamic the space can be. The team at The Campbell was incredibly accommodating and understanding of our needs, working seamlessly to help bring our vision to life. From planning through execution, everything ran smoothly and allowed guests to fully enjoy the evening. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, thoughtfully curated, and genuinely delicious, adding another memorable layer to the experience. The service throughout the night was exceptional—professional, attentive, and thoughtful at every turn. A special thank you to Tara for her professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail, as well as to the entire Campbell team for creating such a seamless and memorable evening. We highly recommend The Campbell for anyone looking to host a polished yet spirited event in an iconic setting.

I recently hosted my 3rd party at The Campbell and it was the best one yet. If you need to entertain a group of 40 or so reach out to their amazing events coordinator, Tara Beschta. She is top notch and makes it all seem effortless. Less worries, and having her to rely on leaves me free to enjoy my guests and be a better host. Thanks Tara and I hope to do another in June! This bar is one of the best kept secrets in NYC. It's a gem that is hard to find. You have to get out of the Grand Central station from the Campbell's apartment exit and make a LEFT to the balcony level and then enter it from the outside. See my photo... If you are able to find it, you won't regret it. The food and drinks are great, and the service is excellent. And the staff is super nice giving superior service.

G

For somewhere that many describe as hidden, it does get rather busy. We got lucky with timing and got what I would call the best seats in the house. At the end of the bar, watching the bar staff make the drinks. Super attentive staff, as soon as my partner closed the drinks menu “what can I get you both”. In a flash, drinks come back expertly made. I went for the Campbell Dirty Martini, normally I’m a gin, extra dry, straight up with a twist kinda guy. But occasionally a dirty martini is what’s required. I was not disappointed. Followed up with a Manhattan, when in Rome, right? Again a great cocktail! Loved every sip.

Came in for a spontaneous get together with a friend and Scott was incredible!! His customer service was stellar. He was extremely attentive, intuitive, and timeless in humor and class. He clearly takes pride in his craft and it’s well deserved. 10/10 would recommend!! I will see u again soon

I hadn't visited here since it was known as Campbell Apt. This establishment, which is tucked away in Grand Central, is still as beautiful and historical as it has ever been. The Campbell literally is one of the finest bars in Manhattan to have a glass of wine or cocktail at, and the service at the bar today was amazing. I definitely have to get back here more often!

Great place. Great food and great service. The atmosphere is really nice too. Very well done. Love the history of Mr Campbell's office during the day and party place at night. Sad what happened over the years. We cannot let our beautiful go to ruins again. Let's keep this beautiful space going.

Classy and cosy hidden cocktail bar just within Grand Central station. You would need some navigation to find this but so well worth the time and effort. Feels like everything just pauses for a moment when you are here because you are soaked into a very relaxed mood and atmosphere. The staff, bartender and waitress were all super professional and polite. Cocktail menu was also interesting with a good variety. There are sofa seatings for couples, big groups and bar counter seats as well. Reservations are recommended as it’s a small space and super popular too. Highly recommended if you are looking for some respite within the city for a nice alcoholic drink and some peace and quiet from the bustling crowd outside. Things just slows down a little here and you feel alot more comfortable.

The space is incredibly photogenic, with a dark, moody aesthetic that feels very Art Deco and timeless. It’s elegant without feeling stiff. After sharing photos on social media, several friends pointed out that this is the famous bar featured in Gossip Girl, which made the experience even more fun We ordered a spinach dip, which was delicious, and a couple of cocktails that were very well crafted. The service was excellent. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, as it’s very hard to get a spot as a walk-in. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with a strong New York character, perfect for drinks in a unique setting.

We visited NYC in February 2026. One night we popped into The Campbell and had the Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies, Pigs in a Blanket (served with Dijonaise with just the right amount of horseradish to give it a pleasant kick), and the Kentucky Espresso Martini. It was the perfect remedy to battle the cold and windy elements outside. Service was great, food and drinks were delish, and the atmosphere was cozy and Old New York posh without being pretentious. It is definitely on my Recommend to Friends List and Must Return To List.

I love this bar! Its so cosy and feels exclusive. I love that they have renovated the original features and made something beautiful in a train station full of new designs and buildings. This is a little pricy but what a treat and completely in my opinion worth a visit

Coming from California, we don't get bartender service like we did tonight at the Campbell. my recommendation is sit at the end of the bar. They're the best seats in the house. And just let Justin take care of you and I promise you, you'll have a great time. didn't get a chance to try the food, but hopefully, next time We'll try something

I recently hosted a corporate happy hour at The Campbell, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The venue itself is fantastic—beautiful ambiance, great energy, and a space that feels elevated yet welcoming. Many of our guests were already familiar with the bar and spoke highly of it even before the event, which made it an easy and exciting choice. The staffing exceeded expectations. We had more than enough support throughout the evening, and the team ensured the space was consistently clean and well-maintained. The food was excellent, and everything was executed seamlessly. Tara, our event manager, was truly outstanding. She was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, offering thoughtful recommendations and making accommodations as needed. Onsite, the staff was attentive, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Overall, it was a great event, and we absolutely plan to return.

Wow this spot is incredible. I stopped by last night for a few drinks after dinner and had the best time. There was a live jazz band, great people watching, and the location is simply incredible. We had a little bit of a tough time finding the enternece cause it is almost speak easy style, but thank goodness we didn’t give up because it was a perfect way to cap off the night. I will probably be a regular here 🤘 This is New York at its finest.

What really made the night special was the exceptional service, especially from the manager, Christian. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a great time. Christian's attention to detail and genuine care for the guests truly stood out. If you're looking for a memorable night out, The Campbell is a must-visit, and be sure to say hi to Christian!

We arrived to NYC 4 hours late from our flight and were a few minutes late past the reservation grace period, and they were still able to get us a table we reserved. The ambience was incredible and was everything we had hoped. The drinks were fantastic and came out quicker then expected. Overall thank you to the Campbell bar staff for making our quick stop in so amazing!

We had the best experience at The Campbell NYC, thanks in large part to Christian. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Christian was also so helpful when it came to choosing cocktails. He walked us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and his drink suggestion was spot-on. His knowledge, kindness, and attention to detail truly elevated our night. If you’re visiting The Campbell, I definitely hope you get the chance to be assisted by Christian—he made our experience absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem Near Grand Central! I stumbled upon this bar completely by accident, and wow — what a hidden gem! It’s tucked away just down the street from Grand Central Station and honestly a little tricky to find, but that only adds to the charm. Once inside, I was greeted by incredible live jazz that set the perfect mood for the night. Our bartender, Justin, was a total standout. Watching him multitask was like watching an artist at work — effortlessly mixing great drinks while keeping the whole bar energized and having fun. He struck that perfect balance of being attentive, personable, and genuinely entertaining. The best part? We ended up discovering that Justin’s college roommate went to the same high school as my nephew. Small world moments like that just make a place feel even more special. If you’re in the area and looking for a cozy spot with great vibes, talented bartenders, and amazing music, this place is absolutely worth seeking out!

Such a cozy spot with a great vibe! The cocktails are expertly crafted, the food is delicious, and the art deco-inspired decor adds a unique charm. I went solo and felt right at home, thanks especially to Scott… easily one of the coolest bartenders I’ve ever met :)

You stumble out of the urban churn of Midtown—car horns, the scent of street meat, and the distant scream of some poor bastard’s timeline unraveling. You push through the crowd, duck into Grand Central like you’re diving under surf, and suddenly, you’re inside a goddamn cathedral to movement. People in suits, tourists with fanny packs, everyone chasing something. And then—then—you find it. The Campbell. Not a bar. A lair. A booze-drenched time warp. A place where Gatsby might’ve poured a stiff one after torching West Egg. A place with enough velvet and mahogany to make you forget what decade you’re in—or care. Once the private office of a 1920s financier, The Campbell has the kind of unapologetic opulence that whispers, “Remember when luxury meant something?” Thirty-foot ceilings. A fireplace big enough to roast a whole pig. And bartenders in tailored vests who mix a Manhattan the way it was meant to be mixed—no molecular foam, no kale-infused bitters, no pretense. Just rye, vermouth, bitters, and cold, calculated respect for the drink. It’s not cheap. Of course it’s not. But you’re not here for happy hour discounts or Tinder dates. You’re here to pause time, to pretend for one drink—or four—that you’re a titan of industry waiting for your mistress and a Cuban cigar. The clientele? A mix. Finance bros high on mergers, silver-haired foxes in bespoke suits, the occasional lost soul who wandered in looking for the bathroom and stayed for the whiskey. It’s all part of the charm. The Campbell doesn’t care who you are—only that you know how to sit still, sip slow, and soak in the ghosts of old New York. You don’t come here to be seen. You come here to disappear.

Hidden Bar Champion! Hidden in the Grand Central station you find this amazing & stunning bar. It was not crowded when we arrived on Sunday afternoon. Few people stopped by to have a look. Drinks were delicious and pricing was good. The bar is just amazing from a design point of view.

An amazing speakeasy in the heart of Grand Central Concourse. Hard to find on the inside, you have to go upstairs on the upper level near the restaurant. There's a special elevator if you can find it. Entrance from the street is easier. Top notch bar drinks and atmosphere. Dark and quiet, classy. I love it and will be back. They serve up tasty and inviting drinks! Tell em Barsnobs sent ya

Iconic, especially for any gossip girl fans but such cool history! We looked into the history and what it originally was… loved it even more. Amazing espresso martinis… great vibe and staff. Keely was awesome. Will be back!

Love that you can get a full service bar inside the train station. The history is super interesting as this used to be just one person's office and then a jail. The drinks are just classic cocktails. Definitely a unique and interesting place to explore.

The Campbell is the quintessential speak-easy bar tucked away in a quiet corner of Grand Central Station. In fact, I have walked by the entrance countless times without realizing it was there. This is a place you go for the atmosphere over all other considerations. It is genuinely unique and interesting. The drinks are solid, but I did take a point off for their very expensive prices. The food choices are very basic and the menu is, honestly, a bit strange…. From olives to mini lobster rolls to chocolate chip cookies… huh? It is a small place, and it can get crowded, so best to make a reservation. It’s not an ‘everyday’ bar, but it’s worth checking out for the history.

An iconic, hidden upscale bar tucked inside Grand Central—like stepping into another era. The atmosphere is captivating, with large leaded-glass windows, beautifully painted ceilings, and a grand stone fireplace. As you sip your drink, it’s easy to find yourself daydreaming about the rich history of both the bar and Grand Central itself. Classic cocktails are expertly made and won’t disappoint. What I liked: * The timeless, elegant atmosphere * Well-crafted classic cocktails What could be improved:
* A glass of water should be served alongside drinks—this was overlooked during our visit
* Service could be more attentive; for example, asking if guests would like anything else, such as snacks
* I noticed a slightly dismissive response to another couple when their preferred spirit wasn’t available—more gracious handling would leave a better impression
* The fireplace wasn’t lit—a small detail, but it would have enhanced the cozy, historic feel Overall, a stunning venue well worth visiting for its unique charm—just a bit more polish in the service would take it to the next level. Highly recommended.

A beautiful restored bar that has decent drinks and food and great service. We got the Angel’s & Demons and Ginger’s Snap which I thought were decent, the spinach artichoke was fantastic, and the salad was just ok. Don’t think any of the things we tried except for the spinach artichoke are must tries, but I would definitely come in again and try something else for the atmosphere alone!

Rumor has it that this used to be Vanderbilt office? Din. Dark. High ceilinged!!!! The vibe is mysteriously cool. Bar is standing only. Tables are stacked in neat rows Drinks are made meticulously and the noise level is appropriate for conversation. Proximity to grand central a plus. Will be back. Cool place for a late night drink

I LOVE this bar, which kills me to only give it three stars. The staff is/was awesome. Got us a table, good drinks, food was small but expected. The couple of disappointments were that 1) it’s Christmas….no Christmas music playing and 2) the music was so ungodly loud you couldn’t hear the people you were with sitting right next to you :-/.

I loved the atmosphere and the history. Great location. My martini was on par. Everything here was great but the service. Waitress never offered water while other tables had it. Not once were we asked if we wanted another drink so we took that as a sign to drink somewhere else.

Mini tuna tacos were spicy but good. Smores parfait was very good. Service at bar was quick and attentive but service failed at the table after we were sat. Bartop tables were very close together and in a 15 min period our server visited our neighbors 2 feet away 5 times without once turning around to check on us, after drinks were dry plus our need to get water then later it took 10 mins just to get attention to pay- just two examples. But also after moving from bar to table and informing waitress bar had my credit card she immediately leaves and returns 5 - 10 mins later with just dropping card in front of me and gone so fast I didn't see her (I was facing wall). Space is cool and worth visiting but one particular waitress needs some coaching.

We were so excited to finally try The Campbell. The space itself is absolutely stunning—old-school New York charm, iconic bar, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel lucky just to walk in. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives stopped. We ordered the spinach dip and a grilled cheese. The food came out in under five minutes—before our drinks—so I already knew we were in trouble. The spinach dip arrived with literal TOSTITOS chips on the side. Their photos online clearly show homemade chips, so this was jarring. Maybe they ran out of tortillas and made a last-minute bodega run, but honestly, I would’ve preferred they 86 the dish rather than serve cheap bagged chips. I wish I had taken a picture. The dip itself was ice-cold in the center, which means it went straight from fridge or freezer to a quick broil. The grilled cheese wasn’t any better—it tasted like it was made with plastic cheese and the bread had none of that golden, crisp finish you get from mayo or oil. Just… bizarre. The bright spot: the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely lovely, and even the manager seemed aware that the food wasn’t up to standard. They handled the situation gracefully, but it’s clear the restaurant group is letting their front-of-house team down. It almost feels offensive to serve food this poor in a venue this beautiful. One more thing: the dress code. We received a text saying “coats are appreciated” and that polished attire is required—yet the people around us were in sweatpants, sneakers, and stretched-out t-shirts. If you’re going to enforce a dress code, enforce it; if not, drop it. It was hard to take seriously. We really wanted to love The Campbell. The setting is incredible, but until the food and overall standards match the space, it’s not worth returning.

Good drinks. The music did not match the vibes of the place. It was okay.

Established in 2017 the Campbell Bar is a tucked away drinking cove in Grand Central Station. The space is beautiful and warm. It has a vibe of elegance but the quite understated kind. Nothing over the top. The drinks are on the pricey side too but I'm not sure if the quality matches with some of the other spaces I've visited. I went through most of the experience unassisted Here's what I had: Gingle Cherry Gin, Rosemary, cherry lime and egg white. A reasonable cocktail that doesn't do anything super special but taste fine. There is a bit of salinity in the drink but that could be from the paper straw. 👏🏾👏🏾 Apples and Agave - It does what it says on the tin. The warm notes of the cinnamon play so well with the aged agave. This is a delicious drink. Not sure how they are sweetening this drink be it the cider or a syrup but if it was beefed up with a little more texture this would be unstoppable. Reposado, apple cider, Cointreau, lime and cinnamon. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Nordic Air - Sir Davis(Beyonce Rye), Swedish punsch, aperol and lemon. This reminds me of an Aperol drink that i can't put my finger on but its just the right amount of bitter to sweet with a touch of sour. 👏🏾👏🏾

Beautiful bar, wonderful story, horribly rude, indignant bartender. We found so many wonderful, service-forward bars and restaurants in the city, I'd NEVER recommend anyone wasting their time or money here. Just too many great spots in the city.

By far the rudest bartender i have ever come in contact with. Was extremely bizarre behavior for someone who works in the service industry. We came in to grab a drink And the woman working last night seemed flat out annoyed with anyone and everyone, it wasn’t even that busy And even so if it’s busy and you can’t keep up then, why are you working In that kind of an environment? She made my drink wrong, which we were fine with keeping and didn't cause a fuss but she didn’t even apologize just threw her hands up like oh well deal drink it. She was so miserable It was almost comical. Not sure why a place would keep someone with such a awful personality.

I celebrated my 60th birthday at the Campbell and was very disappointed. While the server Rae was great, as was Jonathan with whom we coordinated the event, I plus 5 of my guests say they found the manager on site rude. Moreover when I shared my experience with the overall management, I received lip service and no real interest in understanding what went wrong or how they could learn from it in the future. In retrospect the bar was not that crowded and there was no need for us to reserve and pay a minimum. Examples of my and my guests complaints: Our tab was closed at 11:30 pm while the bar was still serving. Moreover, there was no communication of where we stood on the minimum, and the bill was presented to me with ~ a $500 minimum included in the bill and absolutely no mention of it to me. I have hosted numerous other events with minimums and the practice is to inform the party of where they stand relative to the minimum well before the bill is closed so the host understands if they need to order more. Offensive to not communicate about the additional charge. The manager told one guest that they could not have tap-water (which was being served to other guests) and that we had to order bottled water since we had a minimum — I fail to understand the logic, especially given we had a minimum. While some people were very drunk, I witnessed the manager not serve other people in our party who were not drunk. I also witnessed him tell my guests they needed to hold their voices down as other guests were complaining. I did not see anyone who appeared annoyed, again the bar was not crowded and it is a relatively noisy bar. Overall it became a contentious night and not what I expected for my 60th birthday and not what I would expect spending that amount of money. For what it’s worth, as reference we were at The Wallace the previous night as part of our celebration and found the level of service and professionalism great and on an entirely different level. Very disappointing.
