La comida es muy rica. Yo me pedí un filete mignon que me entregaron a término medio, saborcito al carbón y sal en grano para condimentarlo al gusto, junto con dos guarniciones Y me comentan los del negocio que el pescado es aún mejor ya que es fresco. Se nota el esmero de la gente que trabaja ahí para entregar calidad, en la comida, en su presentación, e inclusive en el propio lugar, y por ello entiendo que sus precios sean más elevados. A final de cuentas, si decides comer ahí no olvides que estás apoyando a la economía local y a su población.

Muy buen restaurante y un pescado espectacular. Pedimos un pescado para compartir entre dos personas por 300 pesos, lo cual me parece un precio perfecto por pescado fresco. Si preguntáis por el precio antes, como dicen otros comentarios, no os llevareis una sorpresa.

Maravilloso lugar que conserva la experiencia de comida al carbón en un ambiente rústico. Por la noche cada mesa cuenta con una vela lo cual cambia a un ambiente bohemio. La comida es muy fresca y altamente recomendable, aparentemente se puede interpretar costosa sin embargo por la calidad y frescura vale mucho la relación precio-calidad. Disfruté mucho los camarones a la parrilla, una cerveza y una buena copa de vino blanco con un valor menor a 400 pesos mexicanos, el servicio estuvo de 10 ya que las personas son muy atentas y amables.

We had an incredible meal at Fish and Love. We showed up early and had the pick of an amazing spread of seafood including various fish varieties, shrimp, beef and chicken. Everything is grilled on property and served right off the grill. We had a whole snapper, shrimp, filet mignon, baked potato, rice, salad, 1 beer and 2 glasses of wine. The check was $ 1200 pesos. The place filled up quick and the staff works very hard. Thank you for a great meal!

Yes it's pricey (ask for the price before you sit down), there's really no atmosphere but for the freshest and most extraordinary grilled fish, don't miss this place. You pick out the fish before you sit down and then it's grilled on the outdoor bbqs at the front of the restaurant. Really, really, really yummy.

We had a great experience at Fish and Love! The freshest fish butterflied, marinaded in anchos, lime, and achiote, then grilled on an open flame in front of you! One big caveat - It's actually pretty darn expensive for a Whole Red Snapper - 1000 pesos (50 USD) - which we had for the two of us. We also had grilled shrimp with were so fresh with a hint of the fire and a spice from the marinade. Go for the experience, the freshness of the seafood, and the great service from Elvis in the front of house.

Delicious fish - had a whole tuna (500 pesos) and prawns (280 pesos). The smell of the food cooking on the open grill was amazing, got to see the fresh fish prepared for us and all the sides it came with was a bonus. Don’t understand the other reviews - having eaten at a few restaurants in Mazunte, the prices are completely in line with others for fresh fish!

This is the best places we have eaten in Mexico so far, after 3 weeks travelling I can not recommend Fish and Love enough. It is on the pricier side of Mazunte but worth every penny, we went on our first night here then again on our last as a treat before we left. You have an option of whatever the catch of the day is that they stick straight on the barbecue and douse in the best marinade I have ever tasted. Your plate also comes with rice, a baked potato and salad so the price really isn’t bad. Anyone visiting Mazunte I would say this has to be top of your list.

Grew up eating huachinango (red snapper) on the coast of Acapulco with my father. This was BY FAR the best red snapper “a la talla” I’ve ever had. Our friends and I all agreed this is one of the most underrated restaurants in all of Mazunte. Sad to read the reviews of people who don’t know what true quality is… as a Mexican I find this place the most authentic of this entire town. DEFINITELY recommend this restaurant. The fish and shrimp is fresh and out of this world, truly authentic recipe and perfectly cooked. Order the red snapper and shrimp a la talla. You won’t be disappointed.

A delicious place to eat. Daily caught menu, a chef that had done this for over 40 years, simple yet perfected. The flavour of the marinade sauce cooked over hot coals is an absolute treat. I haven't suck a shrimp 🍤 as much as I did with these ones. The place might not have a bathroom or an extended fancy menu. But their art is in the perfected simplicity of knowledge + taste. La comida es deliciosa!! Es fresca, pesca del día. No tienen menú porque cada día cambia según la pesca, pero eso es parte de la dinámica del restaurante y eso me gustó mucho. Los precios son moderadamente caros, pero vale la pena porque el platillo principal es realmente delicioso. La única cosa que mejoraría serían las guarniciones, las cuales me parece que no están a la altura del plato principal. Pero en general es una gran opción para comer rico y fresco en un lugar lindo con buen ambiente.

A bit pricy and kinda blurry how to actually understand the cost for each fish 🐠🎣 - but hey, it was worth it. The place was a bit overcrowded during my visit so four others later sat down by my table (I went to eat dinner alone), which wasn't a problem at all. The environment is enticing, especially the scene with fresh fish and seafood on display next to a hot grill. We ordered four shrimp (they are quite large) and it was absolutely delicious. It was, however, $500 pesos for those four shrimp, which was a big surprise. I don't typically care much about all these reviews, but definitely some truth in this case.

Overpriced. Ask for price in advance. Poor service. The sides (potatoes and rice) were average at best. The red snapper we received for a family of four was 1200 pesos (over 60 USD) but cooked to perfection and delicious. Some tortillas and beans would have been nicer instead of a baked potatoes.

As the others said, the fish is ridiculously overpriced, though pretty tasty. Once you order, the service is good, but then it took forever to get the cheque and pay.

Pros: lugar con gran calidad y sabor en los alimentos, el servicio es bueno. Cons: la papa al horno de acompañamiento la sirven tibia y los precios varían conforme al peso del platillo, más vale asegurarse de conocer el precio antes de tomar asiento.

Do ask the price upfront, fresh fish has a price. As for April 2024, we paid 250 for the shrimp (5pcs) and 450 for a good sized red snapper. Service is basic, Spanish only, we didn't think they were rude or anything. Food, well, good size portions. The setup is nice, with the BBQ right there. The sides are okay, filling but unremarkable (rice is too salty, potato tastes bland). One big downside is that they don't scale the fish so all that crispy skin unfortunately goes to waste (unless you don't mind eating scales). The sauces they use are a bit overwhelming for the fish delicate flavor. The reason why it's 3 stars is because the shrimps were actually banging. But overall, a bit let down by this dinner.

Der Fisch war ok, leider war die Haut nicht essbar, weil zu schuppig. Das habe ich so noch nie erlebt. Die Beilagen sind wirklich sehr simpel. Gekochte Kartoffel mit Creme aus dem Tetrapack. War dann 400$ für einen Red Snapper. Ich vermute, dass dort Tiefkühlfisch/-languste angeboten wird. Der Rotwein war ok.

Listen to the reviews - you may get swindled. Ask for the price of the fish upfront. We were charged $500 for a red snapper, which seemed high compared to other restaurants. The server left the entire charge pad with my husband, who then took the opportunity to look at what previous diners had been charged. All were charged between $200-$300 for the same fish we had. I’m okay with paying a higher price if the fish is sold by the weight and pricing is clearly identified, but he’s clearly charging a “tourist” tax here.

AVOID! Overpriced tourist trap. We saw the reviews, but unfortunately, we believed our host who said this is the best place to eat fish. While the way the grill looks may have fooled us, the underwhelming garnishes, the bad service (we didn't get our food at the same time and we had to hunt a server every time) and ultimately the price made us realize that others were right. This place should not be allowed in Mazunte where the vibe is so welcoming and generous. Shame, shame, shame.

DON'T EVER GO HERE! Bait and switch scam. They charged our party of five 2300 Mexican Pesos. That's >100 USDs for a red snapper, some shrimps and a bit of meat. Ridiculously over-priced and wouldn't budge when we challenged them on this. We made the mistake of not asking for the price beforehand because it looks like a local place. Don't make the same mistake.

En breve: caro y malo. Versión más larga: la langosta demasiado hecha, sin sabor y con una salsa de tomate que se parecía a ketchup y nunca debería haber sido añadida a marisco. Patatas de la brasa desechas. Preguntamos por el precio de la langosta antes de sentarnos, pues no podemos decir que fue un scam (como otros clientes), pero la relación calidad-precio fue muy mala.

Corto: Servicio malo y relación precio/calidad malísima Largo: Nos sirvieron camarones que no estaban completamente limpios, los complementos no tienen sabor. La atención es pésima a nosotros nos aventaron los vasos de agua porque se equivocaron en la orden, no tienen baños dentro del establecimiento y solo tienen un espacio con una hielera donde te puedes lavar las manos, no hay carta por lo tanto no sabes los precios de las bebidas. El lugar llama la atención por tener “la pesca del día” a la vista y un asador con carbón que despide un buen olor. Lo primero que hicimos fue preguntar los precios, ya que no aceptan tarjeta, solo efectivo. Los pescados para 2 personas de 500 a 700 (25-35 USD) dependiendo del tamaño. Si bien suena caro, no quisimos prejuzgar antes de probarlos. El precio de los camarones en verdad es ABSURDO, $60 pesos (3 USD) por un camarón mediano. Solo como referencia, ese mismo camarón en La Viga CDMX cuesta $180 pesos (9 USD) el KG, estando a pie de playa, evidentemente debería ser más económico. Decidimos pedir un pescado de 600 para 2 personas. Cuando dudas por el precio te dicen que está sazonado con chimichurri y achiote, además de que presumen que incluyen 3 guarniciones: papa al horno, ensalada y arroz. La papa era una simple papa mediana cocida con un poco de “crema” (marca Nutri) en medio, nada de sazón. La ensalada solo era un poco de lechuga, zanahoria y cebolla morada, ningún aderezo. El arroz tenía un sabor regular, pero nada extraordinario. Cuando llegó el pescado he de decir que el sabor se me hizo bueno, sin embargo seguía sin justificar su elevado precio. Me comí la piel de un lado y no tuve mayor inconveniente, sin embargo, la piel del otro lado tenía todas las escamas. Reclamamos al respecto y solo se justificaron, diciendo que si se las quitaban, se podía deshacer el pescado en la parrilla, algo que por supuesto es falso. Si se hace bien con las pinzas que tenían, no ocurre eso, además de que solamente un lado estaba así. Solo se disculparon por “no avisarnos que llevaba escamas” y se justificaron diciendo que unos extranjeros de un lado habían pedido uno con escamas más grandes y no habían dicho nada. Terminamos el plato y nos retiramos con esa amarga experiencia. Definitivamente un lugar para evitar.

Nos dejamos llevar por el número de personas que había en el lugar y el olor, no tienen carta física, todo es hablando con el dueño (supongo) en el asador, cuando nos entregaron los platos la presentación dejó mucho que desear, casi nos aventaron los platos y las porciones eran más chicas de lo que habíamos pedido, el sabor no era malo pero tampoco espectacular. Está sobrevalorado, los precios son elevados para lo que ofrecen. No volveríamos a ir.

Fuimos a este lugar, porque nos lo recomendaron. El lugar es muy agradable, llegas y ves los pescados sobre una mesa todo se ve fresco. Es atendido por locales que tienen buena intensión pero les falta un curso de atención al cliente. Total, pedimos un filete a la talla que supuestamente son 200gr y un filete miñon (no me lo pude comer) primer error de nuestra parte pues se entiende que la especialidad es el pescado. Y efectivamente el filete se siente correoso y aunque lo pedí 3/4 estaba totalmente cocido, acompañado de una papa “al horno” , ensalada y arroz. El filete a la talla era de al menos 100 gr sobre cocido, lo cual lo hace duro. En fin, nada tenía sabor, en verdad no fue una buena experiencia. Es probable que, nos tocó la de malas, pero por si de algo sirve, les comparto nuestra experiencia. Otra cosa importante es que no manejan menús así que no ves precios de bebidas ni de nada!

The fish was tasty… just make sure you pay a fair price. Tiny baked potato, salad, and rice were clean but basic.

They absolutely ripped us off. This was by far the most expensive restaurant we’ve eaten at. 800 pesos per fish. They definitely were just trying to screw over the tourists, in retrospect we should have left once we heard the price but we figured it would be worth it. Was not. Do not eat here there are much more affordable much more yummy restaurants nearby. We also had to ask for the bill multiple times, we were close to walking out they took so long.
