Roy, the owner and bartender for the night, is quick, fun, and charming. Great craft cocktails, warm atmosphere with some 90s bangers playing. The dogs roaming are adorable. We played Uno in the game room. It was a nice break from the heat and hustle and bustle of the street. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

This place is awesome!! The croissant egg sandwich and iced latte I got were exceptional. The interior is beautifully restored with gorgeous stained glass windows behind the full bar. Definitely not to be missed. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. An absolute highlight of Old Forge!

This place is such a gem. The overall aesthetic and drinks were divine. We were there probably mid afternoon on a Saturday and the club jams were banging, I wanted to stay for so much longer! Sad that this place is 3 hours away, but such a worthwhile stop.

Life in the ADK

The Waiting Room is a combination of espresso bar and cocktail bar, lol. It's the perfect spot to wind up or wind down. You can sit and relax, meet up with friends, listen to live music (check their music schedule) and have the most amazing cocktail you could ever want! I love the vibe, I love the décor and I absolutely love the Georgian Holiday! (my new favorite drink) Their espresso bar is awesome and has a quaint area that you can relax and chill or get some work done, whichever you need. It should be a must stop for you when you're in the Old Forge area!

I just discovered The Waiting Room in Old Forge NY and loved it! We appreciated that it was open on a Wed afternoon when other coffee places were closed. The atmosphere was so charming I wish I could have stayed to hang out and enjoy my cappuccino. There were a lot of coffee drinks to choose from and the cocktail/bar side looked very inviting as well!

This place is absolutely incredible. From the atmosphere to the people inside - I can’t say enough positive things. Our bartender Roy and David were so incredibly welcoming and kind. We came from mass and drove about 4.5 hours - I can confidently say I would make that drive JUST to come here again. Please make sure to make this part of your stay - this place is so cozy, intimate, and full of wonderful conversations. The pups are a HUGE PLUS. My new favorite spot. Thank you Roy and David 🤍

Very good craft cocktails. Had a Sazerac and Old Fashioned with both being done properly. I enjoyed the bar's homemade spiced black cocktail cherries. Only the Waiting Room and the Nest Restaurant in Old Forge use cocktail cherries while the others use cheap Marshiano. Sitting with a drink on the front porch was relaxing. Nice atmosphere inside.

We each had 2 of their signature cocktails and they were magnificent! Best we have had in Old Forge. Brightened our early evening, along with nice chat with the owners who were also the mixologists! We just happened to be there before the rush at about 4:30pm. Nico, the sweetest dog is there to greet you and make sure you’re cool. ☺️ We didn’t get to eat but the small plate menu looked delicious. Don’t miss this lovely place with gorgeous stained glass and a beautiful wrap around porch outside with seating. LGBTQ+ owned and proud

One of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to, hidden in a small town in the Adirondacks. Their classic cocktails are great, but their signature cocktails are so unique and amazing. I wish I could try them all and still be able to drive home. I would go out of my way for a drink at this bar. Recommend to anyone in a 3 hour radius. As an aside, my wife and I really appreciated the pride flag. When we first moved to upstate New York, we didn’t really feel like we belonged. We were so grateful to find a spot like this to enjoy. Only wish we lived closer!

This has been a wonderful experience. Roy and Alec were wonderful bartenders, serving specialty, unique drinks alongside the traditional. The entire environment is fascinating and welcoming. This is a perfect gem to visit multiple times in your visit (if you're a groundhog, per Jim ;)). Give this place a try, you won't regret it!

What a fantastic place! The drinks are delicious (both espresso and cocktails)! Thorn is my side was my favorite. Everything is made with care and the inside atmosphere is stunning. We went with friends and they are begging us to go back with them. Rare to find something like this in Old Forge. Owners are fantastic!
