Always amazing and delicious. Got my first FREE burger with a punch card! Ill be sure to keep coming back!
Food was delicious, staff was friendly, they have kid friendly options, and service was quick especially given how busy they were when we went.
These burgers are amazing... There's nothing better than any old fashion burger joint. Parking can be difficult.. but if you're downtown and walking around, stop on in for a dam good burger..
I have been going here since I was born. Literally, as long as I can remember. It was my Great Grandmas favorite place before she passed. I have since moved out of California. But every time I come back to visit family, I make sure to stop here. I am always glad to see that their service and food have not changed.
Delicious burger and hot fresh fries. We also had malts and shakes, which were delicious. They have 3 different options of vegetarian patties. The service was quick and friendly. The servers come to your table to take your order and bring your food.
Best burgers in the area! I love the plain burger with the works. So good. Service is top notch! I usually eat out side. Nice patio heat for cooler days and misters for warmer days. This is a must if you are even remotely close and like burgers!
A great little burger joint with an old-school vibe and amazing food. Servers were fantastic, not only friendly with us but also with our less than friendly dog, who was able to get her own meal and a bowl of water too. The burger was perfect, the milkshake was thick and creamy, and I HIGHLY recommend getting the fry sauce; it works with both the fries and the burger as well. Unfortunately my family and I were only visiting Redding, but if we lived here I would probably want to eat here at least once a week.
What a find in downtown Redding! We were looking for Summer Nights at the Park which wasn’t open so this place struck us as a fitting replacement. It reminds me of the hamburger spots from my youth and the location is outstanding right near some hot spots. Entering I noticed it was full, the customers were all smiling and the atmosphere was welcoming. We were greeted promptly and our questions answered. We both chose the double Hot Dams and I highly recommend it. The burgers were perfectly cooked, cheese fresh and condiments well matched. We got out for twenty bucks for two doubles with fries, matching up to where we are from we could have purchased a single with bacon for the same. I highly recommended this place to everyone who is hungry… it’s the perfect spot.
Love the simplicity of this place. They have burgers, fries, shakes, and drinks, all done really well. The star is the smash burgers the create. Knowing their craft and not changing, the thin patties with wonderfully crisp and tasty edges highlight the meal. Accompany the burger with shoestring fries that were hot, crispy, and salted perfectly made a supremely satisfying meal. If you have room, and I did, top off the meal with one of their shakes. They are more than willing to customize your shake flavor. My go to is a pineapple-orange creamsicle shake. Service was fast and friendly. Will return and recommend it to anyone.
This place should be nationally recognized for smash burger excellence. It has become my go to since moving to Redding. The burgers are perfect every time, the lacing on the edges is a thing to behold. Yet they are still juicy and tender. The fries are golden brown crisp and hot every time. Get a chocolate malt and dip the fries in it, you will then be having a fantastic day. The staff is amazing and will let you customize to your heart's content Fun welcoming and chill atmosphere with good outdoor seating options.
A simple burger for a road trip on I-5. After 5+ hours on the road, this little hole in the wall really hit the spot. I got the Damburger with no onions, so only lettuce and mustard inside. The patty was very thin and flavorful! The burger bun is very similar to In-N-Out's style of bread. The fries are a similar style to McDonald's, but I personally think Damburger's are better. They are very lightly salted, so if you prefer salty fries, you should ask for more. The staff was really friendly and made sure all customers were social distancing outside. There are no customers allowed inside the store, but there is outdoor seating if you are comfortable. Two burgers and mega fries only took about 5 minutes! Super quick and perfect for a road trip. Also keep in mind, there is no public bathroom here!
Not a bad place to grab an original smash burger in downtown Redding.
It has a old school hamburger place atmosphere good food and not bad price
Great burgers, shakes, fries. Not a ton of options but what they do have is really good. The portions are on a bit of the smaller side so if you are really hungry order extra. The price is fair.
On the down side: it wasn't as tasty or juicy as a double/double from I'n'O. On the plus side: the staff is amazingly on-point with great energy and a great attitude, they're just 2 blocks from Shasta Regional, they have beer and hard cider, their shakes are quite good, and there are non-burger options for me to try next time. Will definitely go again to try more stuff.
I don't often give a lot of reviews, and I don't mean to criticize. However, I saw the reviews and I love things nostalgic, as such I was compelled to pay a visit. On the positive side, I do think it's a very cute place, it certainly falls into the nostalgic category. The staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the Double Damn Burger (with cheese) and order of fries, and a chocolate peanut butter shake. Shake was great Fries were great Fry sauce was great At the risk of sounding picky (and I'm simply trying to offer constructive criticism), but as I was halfway finished with the burger, I thought to myself there's no cheese on this burger. I pointed this out to the gal, and a moment later she came back and asked if I would double check "between the patties" and sure enough there was in fact cheese present. I would like to respectfully point out is that if I cannot taste (or see) the cheese, there's a two-fold problem; 1) the patties are already somewhat small, and the fact that the cheese was fitting in the middle of it (without even being exposed) on the edges, demonstrates that a very small amount of cheese is being used. 2) The other issue is that there was too much mustard placed on the burger, which of course will easily kill the taste of all of the other flavors, if applied too heavily... I do in fact like mustard, however there was too much mustard on this occasion, and obviously someone gave it too much of a squirt.. So if the staff is reading this tonight and wonder why I didn't leave a tip, here's your explanation, along with some constructive criticism I believe (e.g. If you're going to add a dollar for cheese it sure as well ought to be enough that you can see it over the edges of the patty), and watch your mustard application we all know that that will override any other flavors... Respectfully, Dan
Late in the evening, it wasn't too busy. It's a small shop, with tight seating. The table wasn't wiped down very well. Service was fine. Food was not great. The burger patties are pressed soo thin, they're burnt and dry. I prefer a juicy burger, and that was not it. The shakes were actually really good, I'd go back for those alone. Any and every extra thing costs. Even the fry sauce, of which they give a tiny little cup. Only available condiment is ketchup, and our table didn't even have a bottle. The drinks were good, nice root beer and decent lemonade. Fries were actually decent but I've had better. The history is cool tho!
Don't waste your $$ on the puppy (dog) patty, it was quite small, and falling apart (see pic!!), I was charged $2.55 for this. 😬🫤🙄 There's another place down the road that gives decent puppy patties for less than HALF that, and they are fresh made. I always prefer to patronize small businesses, and find they're usually much better than the fast food chain places, disappointed this is definitely not the case here!! I've been really looking forward to trying Dam Burgers, especially with the fun, local History. The service was okay, and quick. The Burger was nothing to write home about, and NOTHING stood out about it, not flavor, ingredients, nor price. The fries were the typical skinny (think frozen) type, but they did give a generous amount that I felt was consistent with the price point, however, they charge if you want fry sauce, you don't even get one with your order. As far as ambience, I always enjoy the small down home Cafe, this does offer that, with its dated interior and small seating capacity. Located in a busy downtown area with paid parking, it was easy to find parking.
