I just got food there for the first time tonight- absolutely fantastic and delicious !! I ordered the Chicken/Rice/Salad combo and I ate the entire order!!! If you get off the M train by Forest Avenue, cut up Fairview Avenue behind the Public Library and stop in!! Totally worth $7.00 and more :)

Simple food cooked right in front of you. Love the chicken on rice and the pljeskavica. FYI, they don't use pork so you can eat here if you are halal.

We always order the Roasted Red Peppers with feta & Shepherd Salad to start then 10 pieces of Cevapi and their signature Pljekavica, and both are always incredible. The Cevapis are always perfectly cooked, and the Pljekavica has such a generous, flavorful burger filling. The kids always love the Bosna Express nuggets, think more than McDonald’s which is a HUGE WOW FACTOR in itself. PS: Do NOT forget to order extra Pita bread and the Cucumber Salad, dalish :) Everything tasted like it was made with care, reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, making it a fantastic value. Service was quick and friendly, too. If you're looking for comforting, homemade Eastern European food, this is the spot!

You have to go so you can say you've had a Bosnian hamburger. Couldn't have been voted best without strategic use of horse heads, but it's pretty good and certainly different. Otherwise menu practically non existent and almost no drink choices.

Good place, a little pricey but the food is good. 4 stars because theres only one worker, and you have to wait quite a while if your ordering.

For a place that is primarily cevapi and pljeskavica centered I found both of them average.

50% more expensive than the current online menu. Pljeskavica & Cevap are actually $11+tax and at that pricing, just not worth it. Pljeskavica is a subpar version of what you get in the Balkans

I would eat here 3 times aweek.. a pljeskavica, costs over $15, i remember when it was only $8, double the price for no reason.. which is not worth the price they sell it at all.. the meat, to the ingredients, does not cost that much.. very unhappy.. DJERDAN in astoria, makes way better food, very very authentic balkan food, and the prices are better.. does not make sense to be greedy..

My experience was good the 1st time but the 2nd time not so much and I make my observation of the rice since it was not of the day, very dry and tasteless, I found the presentation of the gyro over rice and the cucumber salad very unpleasant fresh, sorry but I won't go back there. If I would recommend Cevapi

The chicken over rice is $13 here. Before a tip. It’s chicken over rice. This is supposed to be the food of the people. Maybe go somewhere else.

The place doesn’t even come close to balkan food, and the staff is rude and inflexible on how they serve it (I’ll explain what I mean in a minute). Now, mind you, I always order delivery, never been to the place actually. First of, cevapi is never served as a sandwich anywhere in balkans, at least not in any reputable place. It’s served on the bread, with ajvar and kajmak on the side, and it’s meant to be taken apart and eaten one cevap at the time. This place just slathers all the sauces on the bread, slaps some salad with tomatoes on it (never have I ever, EVER, seen a salad served with cevapi in the balkans, but okay, it’s their interpretation, I guess), and everything is soggy and mushy by the time it arrives. So I decided to remedy that, and wrote instructions that I don’t want any lettuce, and that I would like ajvar on the side. Mind you, I’ve done this multiple times, and only once or twice did they actually do it. So I knew it’s possible, if staff just would care enough. This last time, which will be the last time ordering from them, once again they just slapped everything together and shipped it. Came soggy, disgusting. Called the place, told them what I asked for. The person that answered the phone was incredibly rude, kept saying “no, no, it’s not possible, we can’t do it like that, it’s a sandwich”. Why someone couldn’t take all the ingredients and pack them separately, is beyond me. Why a staff member, in service industry, would refuse to budge even a bit and just repeatedly say no, is even more beyond me. But most importantly, someone who is not even remotely from the countries from which this food originated (I asked, he was not) trying to tell somebody who grew up in Croatia how cevapi is supposed to be served, and make it sound like I was an idiot and wrong, is an epic fail. Stick to Djerdan and Sarajevo in Astoria, they know how to serve real cevapi, with real balkan hospitality. Tl;Dr: bad food, worse service. Stay away if taste of balkans is what you are looking for.

Used to be good. Now they keep charging me more and giving me 1/2 the food as usual. Really going downhill, do not recommend. Ingredients are missing regularly.

Their prices keep going up, portions keep getting smaller and extra charge for everything. I didn’t even get a plastic fork. How the hell am I supposed to eat it? I was afraid to ask for one because that probably would’ve been another $1. The photo shows my platter with the extra white sauce. Does it look like I got that much more white sauce?
