Una cena squisita ed abbondante, il titolare un signore gentile che mi ha fatto sentire a mio agio e mi ha consigliato un ottimo vino.

Dopo l'esperienza di Marzo scorso (vedere recensione più in basso), siamo ritornati da Mastrociccia a metà ottobre: la qualità del cibo e la cordialità di Luigino sono costanti e di alto livello sempre. Questa volta abbiamo ordinato i pilastri dei primi romani (Carbonara, amatriciana e gricia) e un fritto misto degli antipasti romani. A conclusione Torta ricotta e visciole veramente speciale e l'ottimo tiramisù. Abbiamo cenato da Luigino che ci ha accolti con la simpatia tipica romana e che con garbo e discrezione ci ha accompagnato per tutta la serata. Cena molto gustosa e apprezzata. Ottimi piatti (tonnarelli cacio e pepe, carbonara e gricia- il guanciale un poco secco per i nostri gusti-). Per secondo abbacchio allo Scottadito e patate al forno (abbondantissimo, vedere foto), saltimbocca alla romana e fiori di zucca con alici tutto molto buono. Tiramisù e torta della nonna molto apprezzati. Le pinse che venivano servite agli altri tavoli sembravano fatte molto bene e buone. Caffè gentilmente offerti da Luigino che ci ha fatto sentire veramente a Roma.

Tipica trattoria romana, nel cuore della città. Delizioso e croccante al punto giusto il supplì, promossi la gricia e la coda alla vaccinara. Lo staff è gentile e premuroso, il locale piccolo ma accogliente. Buono il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Trattoria situata a 200 metri da Piazza Navona molto caratteristica e con piatti tipici romani. Abbiamo seguito il consiglio di amici e abbiamo voluto gustare i tanti piatti disponibili. Il menù è infatti molto ampio e per tutti i palati. Siamo stati accolti benissimo dal proprietario Luigino che con la sua cortesia e gentilezza ti fa subito sentire come a casa. Dopo l'antipasto di salumi e formaggi (dove è compresa anche la porchetta romana) abbiamo voluto provare i tipici rigatoni alla carbonara, mentre io ho scelto i tonnarelli alla Gricia. Il secondo non l'ho preso perché già abbastanza soddisfatto e sazio (ma avrei voluto assaggiare i Saltimbocca alla romana. Per finire ci hanno offerto alcuni dolci con amaro e limoncello. Ottima la carta dei vini, davvero ben forniti, con prezzi per tutti, dai vini più economici a vini più costosi ma pregiati. Personale cordiale e sempre disponibile a soddisfare tutte le esigenze. Anche i prezzi sono in linea con tutto. CONSIGLIATISSIMO!!!

Sono stata da Mastrociccia con delle amiche e ci siamo trovate benissimo! Abbiamo mangiato davvero bene, tutto super gustoso e con ingredienti di qualità. Rapporto qualità prezzo fantastico. Il personale è stato gentilissimo, super accogliente e simpatico. Ci hanno fatte sentire subito a nostro agio, con il sorriso e tanta disponibilità. Un posto semplice ma curato, con un’atmosfera piacevole. Se siete a Roma e volete mangiare bene senza spendere troppo, ve lo consiglio assolutamente!!! Ci tornerò sicuramente.

Osteria romana ottima! Abbiamo provato la cucina di questa osteria ed è stato tutto davvero buonissimo, dai primi piatti al contorno per poi concludere con il dolce. Locale molto bello, con un arredamento curato e soprattutto pulito (dettaglio da non sottovalutare). Personale davvero molto cortese ed accogliente e con il gentilissimo cameriere Fabio ci siamo fatti anche molte risate tra una portata e l' altra... cosa si può chiedere di meglio? Cerchi un posto che trasuda romanità? Bene qui lo trovi. Ottima osteria e personale che ti fanno sentire a Roma. Carbonara buona anche se qualche pezzo di guanciale era troppo duro. Comunque abbiamo mangiato bene.

Sono venuta a cena con mio marito e siamo rimasti molto contenti. Cibo veramente ottimo e di qualità, porzioni abbondanti e gustose. Il personale è simpatico, attento e coinvolgente: un’ottima esperienza romana! Torneremo 100%.

Localino delizioso! Abbiamo scelto questa osteria su consiglio di amici Romani e devo dire che è veramente una scelta giusta . Locale veramente molto carino con una cucina prettamente Romana ovviamente. Abbiamo provato tonnarelli alla gricia, spaghetti alla carbonara e melanzane parmigiana. Per i miei gusti i due tipi di pasta non avevano abbastanza “mordente”, un pochino anonimi. La parmigiana con bufala invece è molto saporita e anche il tiramisù è approvato a pieni voti. Degna di nota l attenzione dello staff durante la permanenza nel locale e un ringraziamento speciale alla signora che ha accolto le mie bambine in maniera molto premurosa. Prezzi pienamente in linea con la qualità e la quantità (abbondante) di quello che viene consumato. Locale decisamente approvato!

Had a really excellent meal here with a small group. We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared everything. Every bite was tasty! We had Straccetti alla Roma (strips of beef with arugula, Parmesan, and cherry tomatoes--this was on the specials/alternative menu), Tonnarelli Amatriciana (my absolute favorite of the four Roman pasta sauces), Caprese salad, grilled vegetables, and a calzone with mozzarella, mushrooms, and sausage. Service was great, the ambiance was cozy and warm. Although it was steps away from very busy and touristy areas, I really felt this was not a tourist trap by any means. I had made a reservation, and I'm glad I did because this place got very bustling and busy even on a weeknight. I would happily return!

Everything was very good, the amatriciana was the best one we had in Rome , the moscato d'asti they serve is excellent. We got the diavola pizza , is was not very spicy and the only thing we would suggest is to lower the volume of the music a bit. Stuff very friendly and funny. We will definitely visit again!

Lovely little Italian tavern! It had one of the best cabonara I've tasted Rome!! Creamy, silky and umami blast! Guancale was crispy but still had some chew which was divine! Already planning to come back before flying off from Rome. Service was snappy, felt welcoming, nothing to complain. Excellent place for a meal!

We visited Rome for 5 days and at this restaurant we had the best pasta out of all the other restaurants we tried in Rome. Highly recommended if you in mood for a good pasta ! Also codda alla vaccinara excellent ! Stuff was excellent also, they know how to serve friendly and polite. Over all our best experience (food wise) in Rome.

Wonderful, delicious cuisine. I recommend the chef’s dishes, dessert and the local wine. Very pleasant atmosphere. The service is wonderful: not pushy, discreet, attentive to the customer and their needs. Service charge is not included — it really makes you want to leave a tip. Great atmosphere. Food was delicious. We had 2 bruschette: pomodoro + bufala and butrata + parma. Amazing. Then the Amatriciana and Ravioli. The amatriciana has an intense flavor but it was good. We preferred the ravioli. If you dont like salt, dont get the amatriciana. They also do a bit of birthday singing. They dim the lights, light a big candle and do a very short song. Everyone in the place got into it. There was one in english on in Italian. I doubt it happens that often but we were there for two birthday songs.

Such a lovely dinner with excellent service. We really enjoyed some Roman classics like amatriciana and carbonara, along with some tuna salad and bacala. It was well seasoned and fresh. Dessert was also a hit. While we saw our fair share of tourists there were also locals present. The staff speaks English fairly well if you don’t speak any Italian. We need to go back before we leave Rome.

Tourist here. So we were actually looking for a different place based on a referral from a coworker. I put the wrong coordinates in Google maps and we ended up at Mastrociccia. What a fortunate mistake. It was a busy Saturday night, but we were early enough to have minimal waiting. The entire staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. When the bill came, it did not break the bank and we even had a couple of glasses of wine. I highly recommend Mastrocicca to anyone reading this.

Absolutely incredible food, service and atmosphere. Well deserved 5 stars! Food: the absolute best Spaghetti Carbonara and Grilled Seabass I have ever had. Beautifully seasoned and cooked, the grilled Sea Bass is a must have. The Bruschetta was alright but the Carbonara was incredible with pasta that you could taste was not only fresh but not over-worked. Wife said her seafood pasta was incredible. Make sure to read their chef recommendations on the walls and what they have for seasonal specialities. Prices are reasonable for Roma and they only charge 3 Euros for Acqua Naturale. Carbonara was 14 euros and sea bass was 28. Service: Very attentive and my waiter cheekily told me to forgo my negroni and get one of their house beers instead. It was delicious and I ended up ordering a second glass. They also gave us a shot of meloncello and limone cello on the house. I would recommend getting a reservation as they were packed. But if you walk in, they will be accommodating. Cannot recommend this place enough, belisimo!

--Food-- The dishes were really tasty but the portions were a bit small relative to the amount we have given(I guess that is the disadvantage of eating stuff in the capital Rome). However I was full when I got out of the restaurant. They also give fresh bread and little bread sticks like cookies. There were also balsamic sauce and extra virgin olive oil that tasted exquisite and soft(not too intense like other olive oils). I poured and ate some because I liked it soo much. You should definitely try some on the bread or on your dish if its suitable for your dish. They also serve food inside pans inside of plates so that is a nice change and gives an authentic vibe :P --Drinks-- Their limonchello spritz was great. The cocktail had small, almost no taste of alcohol. I cannot say the same for the aperol spritz but that is because aperol has a heavier taste of alcohol inherently. It could be dealt with but it is not much of a problem. They also gave us little shots of limonchello miced and melonchello mixes. The melonchello mix was just perfect. If I had known they could make that drink, I would have definitely ordered it insted of the limonchello. --Special Thanks-- Special thanks to Rana for taking such good care of us during lunch. The service was top notch and we enjoyed our time in there. We wish her and the mastrociccia staff our best.

No words are enough to describe how happy we were to have our last meal at Rome at Mastrociccia! It was such a wonderful experience. A bit fancier than we normally eat in Italy but totally worth it! Super friendly staff: We had to wait a bit at first but they made sure we were comfortable waiting (with water). They all smiled happily at us every time they came to our table and joked with us. The food was absolutely amazing! Delicious, delicious and delicious! Normally I would be full after one main dish but I decided to ask for one dessert, and you wonder why?! Highly recommend Mastrociccia to anyone who fancies sometime with the taste of traditional and homemade Italian food and a great sense of humour!

Locale molto carino gestito bene dal proprietario molto educato sia lui che il suo staff. Abbiamo iniziato con due supplì trovati a mio pareri un po' "scarichi" e la mozzarella non filava per niente. Ottimo miglioramento con le paste; gricia molto buona si difendeva molto bene anche la carbonara, un gradino sotto la matriciana migliorabile. Nel complesso un buon pranzo con uno staff molto gentile, consigliato.

Locale situato al centro di Roma nelle vicinanze di piazza Navona, molto carino ed accogliente. Offre nel suo menù i piatti tipici della cucina romana, a parer mio belli di aspetto ed ottimi di gusto. Abbiamo ordinato per iniziare il carciofo nelle due varianti alla Romana (bollito) e Giudia (fritto), entrambi molto buoni; poi abbiamo ordinato un piatto di fettuccine al ragù bianco e scamorza affumicata molto buono, ed un piatto di ravioli ricotta e spinaci con burrata e pomodori pachino anche questo molto buono. Personale gentile e disponibile, anche se qualche cameriere dovrebbe prestare più attenzione alle comande (abbiamo ordinato una lattina di Coca-Cola mai portata al tavolo). È un locale in cui tornerei a mangiare sicuramente. Il proprietario è una persona di gran cuore, infatti mentre aspettavamo l’arrivo dei primi l’abbiamo notato consegnare una pizza ad un artista di strada, un gesto di grande umanità. Rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo.

This place is close to Piazza Navona. The service was nice, detailed oriented and waiters were all very friendly and professional. We had to wait a couple of minutes before a table was freed. The menù offers a wide selections of typical Roman food and some specialties. We shared everything, portions were big enough and satisfying. About the food: - puntarelle salad missed a bit of its typical garlicish flavor. For those who are not big fan of garlic that’s a plus. - carbonara I might would have add a bit more of pecorino or salt. It kinda feels like something in its taste was missing. - pork knuckle could have been cooked a little bit longer to get it more tender and the cream sauce could have used a bit more of flavor. Overall the experience was good.

Went for dinner, not impressed at all. Super touristic, the fried zucchini flowers, full of oil, dry flavorless, pizza not recommended, super cheese, too much tomate sauce. Pasta lower than the average around the city, gnocchi very hard and full of flour. Service good and friendly. Place is fake decorated

Esperienza non pienamente positiva, per il semplice fatto che la Carbonara... non sapeva di Carbonara. Per quanto il guanciale fosse croccante e la pasta cotta alla perfezione, la crema non sapeva affatto di uovo e pecorino. Probabilmente il gusto era più adatto a turisti stranieri, ma da italiano non mi è piaciuta affatto.

Ci siamo stati affidandoci alle buone recensioni. Purtroppo la nostra esperienza è stata pessima. La carbonara non sapeva di niente! Molto meglio quella fatta in casa. Il carciofo, aggiunto nella loro rivisitazione della gricia, sembrava quello del supermercato...e per il resto aveva un sapore non distinguibile. Solo il guanciale abbrustolito si avvertiva, ogni tanto. Grande delusione.

This place definitely falls into the category of a tourist trap and is overhyped. We were really really disappointed following our dinner here. The first red flag for me was the street the restaurant was located on. It was full of other restaurants with tourists, and staff outside trying to lure them in. Regardless we were hungry after a long day of sightseeing and decided to roll the dice on Mastroccia. The restaurant was most empty at about 7pm and we were seated promptly. I have to say despite some other reviews the service was pretty good. The second red flag for me was that the menu had photos of QR codes to trip advisor and google. We ordered a glass of the house red wine, suppli, Gricia and ravioli. The house wine wasn’t anything to rave about. It was average. The suppli was good, noting it was my first one and I don’t have any other point of reference. The outside was crispy and the inside filled with flavourful rice and cheese. I gained some hope that this place would pull through. Then the mains arrived. The moment the pasta was put in front of me my hunger and hope shrunk. Just by looking at the pasta I knew it was going to be a disappointment. My Gricia lacked flavour. The sauce tasted like it was watered down cream, and looked like it too, rather than made with pecorino Romano. The spaghetti itself was chewy and most of the guanciale was burnt. My partner’s ravioli was worse! Some pieces were overcooked, some undercooked, and the spinach and ricotta filling lacked salt and flavour. It was a doughy, gloopy mess. To make things worse, the sauce tasted like it had been poured out of a can. It tasted artificial. My partner is really flexible with her food and is willing to give most things a pass. But even she could not eat this pasta and mentioned the Rana ravioli from supermarkets tasted better! The scarpetta was also doughy and not great. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
