Sacro e Profano Trevi di Roma è stato un vero e proprio viaggio gastronomico. La location è incantevole, con un’atmosfera elegante e raffinata. Il servizio è stato impeccabile, con personale cordiale e molto attento alle esigenze dei clienti. La cucina è stata la vera protagonista , ogni piatto era un’esplosione di sapori e creatività. Dalla pasta alla carbonara, favolosa, ai secondi piatti. Consigliatissimo a chiunque voglia vivere un’esperienza culinaria unica a Roma. Per me è da 5/5 stelle

Ristorante meraviglioso, la location è molto curata e particolare,fuori da ogni concetto di ristorante che personalmente ho visto fino ad ora. 3 sale su differenti piani ed ogni sala allestita in maniera leggermente differente dalle altre, molto suggestiva quella al piano superiore! Il nome di questo ristorante si adatta perfettamente alla location che lo ospita. Si tratta di una vecchia chiesa sconsacrata ricca di affreschi, nella quale si mangia davvero bene. Nonostante ci fossimo recati di domenica a pranzo, per fortuna non c'era da attendere e ci hanno fatti subito accomodare. Questo è stata davvero una fortuna perché con il caldo fuori, all'interno il locale era gradevolmente fresco. Cibo ottimo, abbiamo preso come antipasti un fiore di zucca pastellato (enorme!) e una caprese di bufala (fresca), come portate principali due piatti di tonnarelli cacio e pepe (squisiti e abbondanti), un aperol spritz, un limoncello spritz e dell'acqua naturale: prezzo 65€. Sicuramente ci tornerò se voglio fare bella figura con qualcuno, bravi!

Ottimo sia il servizio dei camerieri sia la bontà dei cibi, che la simpatia e parlantina del proprietario di origini meridionali. Ex chiesa sconsacrata affrescata e caratteristica. Abbiamo cenato ieri sera eravamo 2 coppie abbiamo ordinato Carciofi alla Giudia, frittelle di baccalà, agnello alla scotta dito, fiori di zucca in pastella, supplì, e pizza ai quattro formaggi rossa. Non abbiamo lasciato nulla tutto prelibato. Situato vicino Fontana di Trevi raccomandato.

Locale vicino alla Fontana di Trevi trovato per caso passeggiando, nonostante fosse sabato sera ci hanno trovato un posticino delizioso all'interno. Locale davvero suggestivo sia dentro che fuori, personale efficiente, veloce e davvero simpaticissimo. La pizza è stata una piacevolissima sorpresa e anche il dolce ci ha soddisfatto veramente. È preferibile prenotare.

Locale stupendo sia all’interno (bellissimi muri affrescati) che all’esterno. Il personale è gentilissimo Enzo, colui che accoglie i clienti all’entrata è davvero simpatico. Obbligatorio passare di qui per una carbonara fatta ad opera d’arte. Un’ottima esperienza, voto 10

Locale situato a pochi passi dalla Fontana di Trevi in un piccolo vicolo del centro; ristorante che offre piatti tipici della tradizione romana in un’atmosfera molto accogliente grazie anche al personale di sala. Unica piccola nota negativa il passaggio di autoveicoli se si decide di consumare all'esterno. Estremamente suggestiva la sala interna(sarà per la prossima volta)!

Great little place only a couple blocks from Trevi but without the crowds. Patio was shaded from the hot afternoon sun and actually had a pleasant little breeze. Service was quick and friendly. Menu had a nice selection…make sure your English version isn’t missing a page or two (mine did but thankfully I looked at my partners menu). Several local pastas available as well as salads, Roman pizza and much more. Nice local wine and beer selection as well. Prices were quite reasonable for that neighborhood. Inside is air conditioned and bathrooms clean! Tip: the sinks are pedal operated😉. Most non-Europeans might not notice and think sinks are broken. I didn’t take any photos while we had lunch but I walked back there the next morning to make sure I didn’t forget the name of the place. During the day, there are tables outside with large awnings for shade. We spent about 20 euro per person including wine or beer.

We can here for a late lunch and have zero regrets! The food was a good portion size, not huge USA portions, but just right for our family. The pasta was delicious, and the pizzas were fantastic! Also the atmosphere was very nice, and the location is very convenient. If you are looking for a good meal near Trevi, this is a great choice. The staff were very helpful in creating a good selection of food for our family as well.

Not sure what is up with all the bad reviews. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience. Management, wait staff, host were all welcoming and incredible. They were passionate about the food they were putting in the table and educated us on the freshness and locally integrated ingredients. There was a street performer singing to us all and it felt like a movie when our prosecco had been opened during a song about love. The sautéed muscles and pasta with muscles were incredible. I got the linguine with meat sauce, and loved it. They surprised us with a dessert at the end. It was a collective effort to make our experience as good as possible- and we recognized that from the start. Overall a wonderful experience- don’t allow the reviews to deter you.

This restaurant is so authentic! We stayed about 5 min away from Trevi Fountain and was so happy to of ran into this place for dinner. We loved the atmosphere of tables outside with nice linens and lights. Very quaint. It’s our first time in Rome so we tried the pizza! Get it, you will be glad you did! The waiters treated us so well. Surprised us with a glass of wine on the house as we waited for a table outside. The Prosecco was light and flavorful. The food came soon after ordering. Very professional staff here, they aim to please! I ordered a white pizza with mushrooms, sausage and cheese. We also tried the spicy salami pizza. Both were pleasantly tasty. The crust was very thin (in a good way) and I enjoyed watching the pizza chef make & bake them in fire oven. I highly recommend this restaurant!! 5 stars!! We had a great time and the staff made it special for us. We will return to try pasta this week.

The best meal we had in Rome! We had bruschetta, pizza, sea bass, grilled veggies, panna cotta, and Chardonnay from Umbria for less than 100 euro and the service and quality of the food was excellent! We are not into big portions because we like to enjoy a full course meal but the portions here are still pretty generous in our opinion. The inside dining area is smoke free which is a refreshing change when in Rome as everywhere you go, someone is smoking. It was nice to enjoy a great meal in a relaxing, smoke free environment.

When in Rome… We could not fault the quality of the service or the delicious food at the fantastic Sacro e Profano restaurant, a mere stone’s throw from the Trevi, but not a tourist trap. Enzo’s warm welcome set the tone for the evening and Apple looked after all our needs - attentive and professional and made a fuss of our girls. We had such a great time and the food was simply sensational. The pizza was the best I had ever tasted (honest!), and for someone who is not into desserts, the tiramisu was heavenly. Tasty food, good wine and a great atmosphere in an old converted church made for a very special and memorable evening with the family. What more do you want?! What a find! 🙏

Si vedeva che era un ristorantino per “turisti” però la qualità non era sicuramente delle peggiori provate. Le tre stelle sono tante motivate, purtroppo, dal prezzo unitario di una bottiglia d’acqua, 4 euro (se non erro), che mi pregiudicano leggermente il commento che già volevo fare.

Purtroppo, non siamo riusciti a sederci all'interno, il che sarebbe stato un ulteriore punto a favore dell'esperienza complessiva. Il personale è stato davvero gentile e accogliente, dimostrando una notevole attenzione ai clienti. In particolare, ci hanno consigliato di optare per una bottiglia di vino invece di un calice, permettendoci di risparmiare. Tuttavia, non posso ignorare la delusione per la carbonara: l'aggiunta di panna è un'eresia per un piatto così iconico della cucina romana. Questo dettaglio tradisce un approccio troppo turistico, che non rende giustizia alle autentiche tradizioni culinarie della città. In sintesi, "Sacro e Profano" è un buon ristorante con un'ottima accoglienza e un'atmosfera affascinante, ma la fedeltà alla cucina romana lascia a desiderare.

Wow that was the worst pasta I ate ever ate in a restaurant or home made or just in general. The pasta was overcooked and the cheese tasted like it came out straight from a bag. The fried calamari were fried to death. The Pizza on the other hand was okay.

In sintesi, trappola per turisti. Accolti in inglese (questo, per quanto ci siano molti stranieri, per carità, già era un campanello d'allarme) abbiamo poi mangiato le peggiori e meno "autentiche" paste del soggiorno romano. La cacio e pepe sembrava pasta in bianco con brodo di pecorino.. Amatriciana altrettanto male. Per carità, non immangiabile, ma di certo non lo consigliarei a chi que volesse provare l'autentica cucina romana. Mi dispiace. Personale gentile e disponibile. Ambiente poco curato, sopratutto fuori.

This restaurant came with 4.3 stars in google reviews. We walked in and the place looks amazing in a former church. We sat down and were presented with a QR code for wifi. After a few trials, there was no success, we asked and was informed that wifi for tourists guests are not working. We ordered fried squid, medium rare steak and pizza. Fried squid came out good, crispy and tender. Pizza is ok with thin crust. The steak, we ordered medium rare. Attached is a picture of the medium rare steak we had ordered. Disappointingly, it was tough and the inside was not pink red as medium rare steak should be. Left with hope, management can improve.

The gentleman at the front of the restaurant was very friendly and great and banter to get us into the restaurant. Unfortunately, that was the only positive. The restaurant is in an ex-church but the murals are something you can expect from a cartoon. The service staff were very uninterested and did not care for service. We ordered one pasta and one pizza and one suppli. The supplie was crunchy and burnt and the taste was so bland. My pasta was severely undercooked and was so salty. The pizza was just basically a lebanese bread with cheese that went in the oven for two seconds which had salami/ham thrown on top. Walked away feeling scammed, hungry and with a literal bad taste in my mouth.

Dear Sacro e Profano Trevi Management, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the dining experience I had at your restaurant on 28/08/2024 (between 9:45pm-10:45pm). While the staff who assisted with my concerns was courteous and responsive, the overall quality of the meal and the service left much to be desired. I ordered the Penne Salmon Pasta, which was served to me with the pasta undercooked. After bringing this to the attention of the waiter, the dish was replaced. However, the second serving was equally unsatisfactory—this time, the pasta was drenched in pasta water, and the salmon accompanying it had a distinctly unpleasant and fishy odor, suggesting that it was not fresh. It was apparent that the dish had been hastily recooked rather than properly prepared anew. To my dismay, there was no manager on duty to address my concerns, which I find highly unprofessional. It is concerning that a restaurant could operate without a person in charge to handle customer issues. Eventually, I was offered a €5 discount on the dish, which I did not eat due to its poor quality. Moreover, when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the dish, the staff member I spoke to became argumentative, insisting that the quality and preparation of the food were standard for their restaurant. I found this interaction to be dismissive of my concerns and contrary to the level of service one expects in a professional dining establishment. To add on, a few item 86’s which was disappointing. I trust that you take such feedback seriously and will address these issues to prevent future occurrences. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Classico esempio di come la cucina italiana viene rovinata! Mi dispiace fare una recensione negativa, ma in questo posto c’era più del profano che del sacro.. Per iniziare abbiamo chiesto uno spritz con un mix di fritti, tralasciando lo spritz che era tutt’altro che uno spritz, ma d’altronde siamo in un ristorante, però per 20gr di merluzzo c’era 200gr di pastella..ma la cosa più brutta è stato che il supplì aveva il ragù, quando nella ricetta non è prevista, per non parlare del fatto che una ragazza al tavolo era vegetariana … abbiamo poi preso due carbonare (dove c’era la panna……..) e una cacio e pepe che a nostra insaputa era in brodo. Quello che però dobbiamo dire è che la carne era ben cotta e morbida. Rimane il fatto che il posto è sconsigliato al 100%, personale scortese e non disponibile.

The advertising staff member outside was welcoming and hospitable, but one of the waiters had the worst attitude I've ever encountered. He completely ignored our requests, slammed the plates down on the table, and left the pizza uncut until it had gone cold. He didn’t say thank you or goodbye when we left. Interestingly, the only two non-Caucasian tables—ours and the woman seated next to us—both received noticeably poor service from the same waiter. The one star goes to the other waiter who served us toward the end and was much more courteous. The starters were good, but the rest of the food was just salty.

When looking at restaurants to dine at during our visit to Rome, we came across this restaurant which used to previously be a church. The staff were welcoming. The original art on the walls and ceiling were beautiful. The starters were delicious, and we were excited for our main course. My partner ordered lamp chops, which came with a salad. I ordered the zucchini and salmon pasta. Before ordering, we asked our waiter if the salad was enough/sufficient for the lamb, or if a side dish such as potatoes were needed. We were ensured that the salad goes beautifully with the lamb, and would be sufficient for the meal. However, when the dishes were placed in front of us, we begged to differ. The salad received was just lettuce and carrots, with no dressing or herbs to add to flavour. The lamb also was not seasoned. Furthermore, the main course comprised of only 3 lamb chops, 1 of which was raw and inedible. My pasta lacked any zucchini and was swimming in oil. Neither of us enjoyed our main courses, and shortly left without even having dessert. As beautiful as the restaurant is, and as welcoming the staff are, I would not recommend this restaurant

We were unsure where to eat for our last night after going to the trevi and seen the great reviews for this place. Atmosphere was nice and service was quick but the guanciale in the carbonara was simply inedible... Uncooked chewy fat. When we mentioned to the waiter he apologised before walking off. Very disappointing end to the holiday
