One of the oldest establishments in Santa Maria Maggiore, founded in 1933. It's located in the center of the town's main square, with plenty of outdoor seating, as well as a covered area. The gelato is excellent; limited flavors, but made with local milk, and delicious! They also serve aperitifs, and it's a popular spot for young people. The staff is very fast and helpful. Nothing to complain about.

A very cute place, divided in two. One side is a bar, the other serves local bread, cured meats, and cheeses. The owner is very friendly and professional. I discovered it by chance. A wide selection of excellent cured meats and cheeses, and the cereal puff pastries and pizza breadsticks are amazing. I also discovered Messina beer, made with sea salt, a unique but pleasant flavor. I'll definitely be back.

We've been coming to Santa Maria Maggiore every summer since I was born, and we always pop into this bar for an aperitivo. The price and location are perfect. The last time I went, I went with my mom and sister, and we paid a total of €11 for three of us. We had two crodini and a Spritz, plus some excellent appetizers. It's a shame the food is smaller than what's served at the bar next door!

If you're passing through Santa Maria Maggiore, in Piedmont's Val Grande, you can't miss Caffè Pagani. It's a lovely place, with very welcoming staff who respect all anti-COVID regulations. We enjoyed a charcuterie board and a generous selection of amazing cheeses. The courtesy is matched by the very reasonable prices. I thank the owners of this place, and we'll definitely be back.
