I can't believe I have not reviewed Sal's pizza...just an FYI & a bit of TMI Sal's is still the king of sayville...here is why my kids their friends told the kids how wonderful the pizza is at the new Umberto's and I will tell you it tastes good...but about 15 min after finishing my pizza, pinwheel and garlic knots I'm writing this review from the toilet...it's going through me...I don't have a lot of allergies so I don't know what's going on...so to avoid missing the big game this Sunday stick with Sal's good chance you won't have to stream the game from the bathroom.

Sals opened 1980 same year I graduated hs. Pizza is excellent, service people are really nice, efficient and easy to talk to. A must go.

Great Neapolitan slice. If you like yours just lightly crispy crust nice and chewy then this is the spot. Had extra sausage topping but ate it before I thought to take a picture and write the review. Customer service is great. Their total seating is one of the best in town (compared to Sayville Pizza or Marc Anthony's). I felt really comfortable in the environment, It's very spacious and clean. I moved away from Sayville in 1997, and left New York in 2018. There's only two Pizza Places on Long Island I come to when I am back Home. Sal's is the best Pizza I ever had. My Family have been a loyal customer since moving to Sayville. Generations of Sayville High Graduates survived on Sal's Lunch special. Definitely recommend the Food, Services, History, and just atmosphere. They always make you feel welcome.

Sal's is legit THE BEST pizza place we've eaten at in Suffolk County. Truly! We always do takeout at this place as the inside isn't super spacious but the food is phenomenal! You can't go wrong!

Sal’s pizza and garlic knots taste so delicious. I also love their Margherita pizza. Their sauce isn’t too sweet or salty and has this perfect blend of spices. I believe they recently joined the Slice app and now offer delivery which is a bonus for us. I’m sure most of these comments speak for themselves.

This is my favorite pizza place, and I REALLY love pizza. I grew up in Queens, and it’s the best pizza I have found on Long Island. I 100% recommend them. The staff is also nice and no matter how busy they are, they have good customer service and the quality of the food is consistent.

Earlier in the week, I accidentally left a slice behind, but when I called, the staff were incredibly kind & offered me credit. Today, I returned with my family to dine in, & we received a warm welcome. The staff are truly some of the sweetest people I've met, especially the gentleman who honored my credit. Firstly, I’ve gone to Sal’s Pizzeria ever since I was a kid since I used to live in Sayville so it was always a go-to place! I came here way before they did their renovations, and it was a lot bigger a long time ago when they first opened! I’ve always remembered their pizza being absolutely outrageous and delicious!!! Anyhow Aegeans Pizzeria by the sun vet mall was my all time place and on the top of my list, but unfortunately they closed so about a few months ago I went back to Sal’s to see if they were still good, as I haven’t gone there in years! I went here with my boyfriend, and I’ll tell you they definitely changed up their set up, and must’ve did some renovations since it’s a lot smaller now than it was a long time ago. The pricing is pretty good and decent, and the atmosphere is pretty nice and simple just to sit down and have a quick little lunch or dinner. The staff are good, and rather very quick! My boyfriend usually gets the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and I usually get my Traditional/Regular Pizza. Both are absolutely delicious, and delightful and it tastes the exact same as I used to remember it, and it’s always stayed consistent with its pizza! The crust is always nice and full, and the pizza is never soggy but crispy! Sometimes we’d get takeout and eat in the car, whilst it’s still warm!!! Overall, I recommend on getting this place! It’s the best pizza place around, and there’s no other pizza place like this near by so this is my top favorite! Otherwise I’ve been to Umbertos, Gino’s, The pizzeria, Pepperoni Grill, Satellite, and etc which all weren’t good otherwise Sal’s never fail to disappoint me, and their pizza is PERFECT!

Has been one of my family's go to pizza for over 20 years. Never had a bad or less than perfect pie yet. Food is great and the owner talks with you like he has known you since birth. He actually remembers when my kids were babies, how great is that! It is one of the most pleasant and friendliest eateries to enjoy. I have also been using their catering services and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. The prices and quality of food is beyond amazing. People have asked me if I made the food myself. When you love what you do, it shows in the service and the food served. Highly recommended.

Fast and friendly service, good volume for the music in the background . Food was hot, maybe a just a little too hot. Pizza has a good texture and a good number of speciality pies to choose. Perhaps the only little issue is they dont seem to have fountain drinks like fruit punch or lemonade, only bottled choices. The seating arrangements are good with different configurations for various party sizes. Would definitely come back again.

Usually come here a few times a year. Sicilian slice tasted off. The crust had a funny aftertaste. The meat slice was good. Tables full house at 2pm weekday.

My impression is that these are a couple of Italian guys/brothers that have taught Latinos how to cook Italian. In addition to saving labor costs there, they hire young inexperienced counter help that do not know how to take an order. The kids on the phone so not know the difference between well done and raw, fried or grilled. Sad part about it, when the order is taken correctly, the food is not bad. But that is rare. BTW, this review is not based on one experience, but many!

I have no idea how this place has so many stars. The woman behind the counter was nice but that was it. Plain slice was mediocre. Sauce is tasteless. The bathrooms were beyond disgusting.

Off the tongs she shoved it in her mouth then gave her another pieace she took them agian off the tongs into her mouth so that means her germs are all over my zeps I threw them out that's nasty and unsanitary and just gross... Placed an order for a "heart shaped" pizza for my wife and daughters. They said 45 minutes. When it hit 1 hour (i just assumed busy because of the day, no big deal i dont care about a little bit longer) I called. They said " its on the way". ANOTHER 20 minutes went by. Finally get the pizza. So 1:20min for a half plain, half pepperoni, with 12 knots... wow. When I ordered I specifically asked if they will have change of a $20 bill, they said yes (bill was $29. This girl gets here, I give her $40. She puts it all in her pocket... I actually had to ask if I could get the rest of my money back. Being that im generous, I only asked for $5 back, but should have given $0. Finally get the pizza in the house, open it up, and what do you know?! In the oven to warm it up. Cold pizza on top of it all. I called and explained the situation. Once I was done explaining what had happened, I paused on the phone. Waited for them to rectify this. Nothing. They just said "ok". I laughed & said this was my 1st & last time trying them. NEVER GO HERE! SO many better options local. *Note: The pizza sauce tasted like my kid made it & the garlic knots tasted like play-doh...

I have been going to Sal's for year's. I particularly like the eggplant rolls but only when made fresh. Store policy is suppose to be that they will make fresh if requested. Received reheated. Make fresh apparently means made fresh earlier in the day and then reheated. Boycotted for several months and just gave it another try. Disappointing to get yet another two reheated rolls when I specifically ordered and was told that I would get fresh made. Done with over done, hard as rocks reheated rolls. Apparently customer satisfaction is not on the menu.

Today my team at a hospital ( local, but will remain nameless) ordered an over 500 dollar catering order from Sal's. They did not bring any utensils, and the small amount of plates and cups that were given to us wreaked of cigarette smoke. We called the pizzeria to ask them to bring utensils ( ya know, so we could actually eat the food ) and new plates and cups since the ones given to us smelled of smoke. The manager we spoke to gave us major attitude and asked us if he should fire his staff because they smoke! We simply said no but it is unacceptable and unprofessional! He yelled at the employee on the phone and said " if you Don't like our service, then Don't order from us anymore." We replied, Don't worry we won't! Nasty, nasty people! And to think this is Ok! Shows how they treat their customers! Don't give them your money!!!! There are PLENTY of pizzerias on the island. Maybe they forgot they aren't the only ones!

I really dont write reviews but i ordered a sicilian pie and it was cheese on dough. Hardly any sauce. Come on really. No taste. It was grilled cheese. The girl was nice but never would i order a sicilian pie. I will give it another shot with there regular pie.maybe they just don't know how to do sicilian...just add more sauce some taste to the dough...not hard guys

Absolutely worst fried calamari I have ever had. It wasn't tender or even chewy, it was rock hard. We threw it out. The garlic knots were dry and stale and the garlic was not fresh it was dried just put in the dough....disgusting and the 2 pizzas were both cold...if I could give a lower rating I would

Since moving to Sayville 2.5 years ago, I have really tried to like their food and each time I am disappointed. I hadn't ordered in 6+ months and thought I would give them another try. Last night I ordered a large pizza with extra cheese. The sauce had no taste, and there was barely any cheese on it. The only positive was a very thin crust! Also ordered a large Caesar salad that was lettuce, a little dressing and a few croutons. No cheese or flavor at all, and some of the salad had brown on the edges. Sadly I won't be ordering again.

Went to Sals pizzeria tonight. I asked them to make my pizza well done crispy. It was soggy. Then my husband asked the man cleaning the tables to please clean ours. He said okay I will be right there. He never came over he continued to clean the other tables and then took out the garbage and went to the bathroom. He never cleaned our table. We certainly won't be going back there again and we always went there. We will take our business else where.

In my opinion the place is just plain awful and overpriced. They are all kinds of slices of pizza they did not look enticing in the least. I think three slices were 11 something I'm not sure exactly. It looked to me as if the slices were sitting around for quite some time.

I order from Sals a few times a month. I'm done. I ordered eggplant parm tonight with very light sauce. Asked for the rigatoni al dented. The person that answered the phone asked me what does that mean. Obviously, no training. So the pasta was fine and the eggplant was soaked in sauce and mushy. Totally inedible. I cleaned on Saturday about 6pm and asked for a manager. Someone got on. I said I am asking for nothing, just wanted to give a heads up. Not even an apology. Horrible service. Never again.
