We were told there were going to be changes to the menu after September so we had to come check it out. Liked the salsa just as much as the original. The beans, rice and chicken fajitas were excellent. We'll be back!

Been living in Arlington Tx/Ft Worth area for three years now and this place is my top review choice. Employees are top notch. Megan and Elise were professionally hospitable. I wish my husband and I could have stayed longer, but it was raining hard and we got a call from our daughter needing a ride from UTA. (12 minutes away). Top house Margarita 100%, Corona margarita 100%, appetizers...guac and queso plus free salsa 100%. The tostadas were served, thin and warm and didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes....perfect 100%+. Definately returning. Very pleasant in both bar and restaurant area. I'm sure in warm weather, the umbrella area will be amazing. Can't beat this Tex Mex restaurant. Try it and see. 😀

I ordered a burrito with a side of beans and rice. Just as I was about to take a bite the manager stopped me and informed me the beans are cooked in lard and therefore contain pork. Him noticing I was Muslim and stopping me before I did something against my religion really stuck out to my husband and I. This is really kind of someone to not only know Muslims can’t eat pork but to also stop me before I made a mistake! He immediately went and had them not just replate it but remake a new one so that nothing I ate touched pork. That’s respect and it deserves to be recognised!

They changed the menu and they use better ingredients. Very surprised and left full and happy.

We went to eat on the border today with my family and Halle was amazing she made sure we had everything we needed and never let our drinks go empty!

Border-style food and fun at its finest. Great layout, nice patio, and friendly staff. You know what you’re getting at OTB but this location hit on a few details a little better than the rest. Signature queso, quesadillas, and Monterey Chicken fajitas were delicious. The star clearly though was the Smokehouse fajitas. The entire table took turns throwing their fork at the jalapeño sausage, carnitas, brisket, and chipotle ribs. Fantastic! We are leaving fat and happy! Our waitress on the patio was exceptional. Keep up the good work.

My husband and I visit On The Border Mexican Grill in Burleson a couple times a month for the chips and salsa (best in the area) and the brisket tacos. The staff is always so friendly and I love the rewards program they have since I go their often.

The beef soft tacos were delicious and their new menu is all fresh ingredients. The salsa was very tasty as well. Our waiter Brayden was very kind, helpful, and attentive! Great service!

Had a very pleasant meal here with my fiance's family. The brisket tacos we're excellent. Really enjoyed the barbecue sauce that came with them. It was a large party and the server did a good job taking care of us. Will definitely have to visit this place again sometime.

I'd like to give a shout-out to On the Border! Their beef and chicken Fajitas are half price every Wednesday—super value and incredibly delicious! The waitress also give us very good service. We'll definitely be a regular there.

Not all chains are the same. This one is SUPER well run with a very friendly staff and you can tell the manager cares about training and taking care of people. Hannah was our server and was friendly as could be plus we never once had to ask for a refill on beverages or chips. While the food was pretty standard On The Border it was presented well and served hot. We were a party of five seated right away and I was completely impressed with the entire experience.

The food is absolutely 5 plus stars and they have this addictive salsa that makes you want to pour it on everything.. I cannot even start on customer service for I will be writing all night long... I've been to several locations and this one is one of my favorites. Someone brought me the wrong plate and they quickly fixed the issue. The service is good and so is the food. There is always a good crowd yet we are seated within 5 minutes if that. I do not have any complaints at all.

I placed an online order not knowing on the borders whole menu had changed to Papasitos. I saw nothing online stating the change. We bought the southwest chicken tacos and they had totally changed the recipe, which was very deceiving because online it gives you the option to remove fried onion rings still so so I assumed it was the same taco. There were huge chunks of grilled onion in it and two big pieces of chicken and a ton of pico. The taco totally changed but they kept the name of it, I thought I had ordered the wrong thing. Also I ordered a pint of salsa not knowing it had changed to papasitos salsa. I loved OTB’s salsa and queso so I’m very sad about this change. Ordered the fajitas/steak for one and it was definitely mediocre for the price. It was dry and did not come with as much as the 23 + price tag for added sour cream and guac. Also the servers on a Tuesday night were all white and attituded up. Go to the Mexican Inn across the parking lot instead.

I have been going to this On the Border since I was a baby, over 24 years. I despise that they have changed the chips, queso and salsa to the same as Pappasito’s. I understand the change of ownership and I love Pappa’s but will go there for it. I want OTB queso and salsa. To know I may never have it again is a true devastation. Please bring it back. I didn’t get any other food as I went specifically to get to-go chips, salsa, and queso, but I’m sure the other food has changed too.

Went for dinner tonight and will not go back floors had chips, trash, Silverware in dining area. Table was dirty we were taken to sit at, had to be wiped down and seats and table were left wet. I proceeded to ask for a napkins to dry table and white napkins had dirt from me wiping table. Salt shaker had no lid. When we asked if they had lid they said no! 3 hostess at front were hanging out talking when we walked in and place was filthy definitely need to have every one busy cleaning helping out!.

Since Pappas has purchased On The Border the ground beef is so spicy it burns my mouth. The Pork Carnitas are flavorless. The Corn Tortillas have no taste, hard and mostly flour. The salsa is so spicy I cannot eat it. I have tried to eat there 4 times since the take over by Pappas and each time has been a terrible food experience. No way that I'm going back nor taking my family, especially kids there.

This OTB was the first and probably the last time I will order something to go. I ordered the primo queso, which comes with taco beef, sour cream, and quac. Which the worker who took my to go order over the phone didn't know. I also asked for an extra salsa(both are small🙄). And they charged me for both of them and I asked for one extra bag of chips..which usually is suppose to come with it for free 🙄). I get there and I called to let them know I am here and to bring me my order. Or so I thought. I called and the worker put me on hold for 3 minutes. I hung up and went in. I waited at the to go cash register. There was 4 white female workers who saw standing there waiting to pay for and get my order. They just went on talking and ignored me. And a white male worker saw me and came over. He was good and cool. The price he rung up was not the same price on the website menu and what the lady who took my call said. Which says it's $9.99(which is too expensive but it is what it is 🤬😳). I get the price he said $18 dollars and something cents. I was like what? Huh? Are you serious? I couldn't believe it. And he gave me what is written on the receipt, 1st reso discount(whatever that means) which brought the amount to $12.23. I still wasn't happy about the price. I went on and paid for it because I haven't eaten at OTB for 3 years. Igot my food and left. I looked at my receipt and I was charged $11.98 for the Primo Bowl Queso. And I was also charged $4.98 for 2 chips and salsa which I only ask for 1 extra salsa and bag of chips to go. I have never been charged for salsa when I went to the OTB restaurant on the Southwest side of Fort Worth, TX. On Bryant Irvin and Overton Ridge. 8 didn't have a good experience. Service wasn't that great. When we got ready to leave we had to find our waiter so we could get the ticket. If I had enough cash on hand I was going to leave it on the table and just walk out because I got sick of waiting. 15 to 30 minutes of waiting for a ticket we finally got one. They weren't that busy so not sure where he was. I got fajitas and this was all the cheese given to me to go with four tortillas. My son ordered create your own and got 2 chicken soft tacos. They were gross. He never got the rice and beans that come with it. So $9 for to gross chicken tacos. We will never go back.

Red haired young lady at the to go counter is extremely rude. This is our third encounter with her with the same service. After we waited at the unattended to go counter for way too long, someone finally asked if we’d been helped. The person then went to go get the to go attendant (lady referenced above) it was another 5 minutes before she arrived. No greeting, stone faced, slammed food in counter and said have a good night in annoyed tone. Super disappointing. Update- 5/4/2022- different person at the to-go counter this time, but was disappointed to see that my meal was a few dollars more for over less than half of the chicken breast size. I understand inflation, but my 6 year old wouldn’t even have been satisfied by the size of the chicken breast.

Came in for dinner to give it a try hoping it would be better. The hostess could not wait to let everyone know that corporate was in and that they were doing interviews. Our waitress kept sitting down in a booth to chat with what i can only assume are regulars and paid almost no attention to any of her other tables. Husband ordered beef fajitas and they were burnt to the pan, so was the rice. Which i have never seen a restaurant serve up rice on a sizzling platter before, but that's neither here nor there. We waited for 15 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us so we could show her his burnt foot, at that paint we just asked for the check which took its own amount of time to come...... We really hoped it would be good like it used to be a few years ago, so disappointing.

This was far the worst experience we had here. We had never been here before but my daughter in law wanted to come for her birthday. We ordered it took the server over 20 minutes to get our drinks and took her a long time to check up on us. When we went to pay but ask if we can someone sing to my daughter in law. The waitress Jordan said that they don’t do that or have anything free. I stated that they just had sang happy birthday to someone else at another table. All she said ok but processed to clean another table. We asked 2 more time and we got the same response from our waitress. When we asked for a Togo container she gave us these card board containers. I asked if they had any plastic ones because since we had enchiladas and she said no. But to the table next to us she had taken some black plastic containers. We were the only Hispanic people at the restaurant and we got treated bad. I would not recomend this place or would go back. Worse birthday experience and we felt discriminated.

On the border was my first ever job. Even after leaving, I used to buy quarts of queso and sala here. Pappadeaux's apparently bought them out. today we visited and unfortunately will never return... Even their chips which used to be a half a corn tortilla fried is now just regular stale store-bought chips. The chicken was tasteless the fajita meat was too hard to chew and the shrimp had a good flavor but was way too salty that we couldn't eat it. The fried jalapenos were fried in like a pancake batter. All three tables around us were complaining. It's so sad cuz the service is just as good but I don't see them lasting much longer. The food was some of the worst I've had. Goodbye old friend! 😭

I placed an order online for steak nachos and they were to be ready at 6. I picked then up at 5:55 and it took me 5 mins to get home... I was so ready to dig in and to my disappointment they were already soggy and cold. You're not supposed to be able to follow your nacho like a taco lol. And some of the chips didn't even have meat on them.Definitely won't be ordering them again.

Ordered take out last night and my tacos had maybe 2 bites worth of chicken and toppings in them. Then to make matters worse the complete top part of the tortillas was stale. You can see in my picture the amount of meat they put in and the hard parts at the top of the tortilla. Definitely a disappointment once you make it home and your food is hardly edible or filling all because of poor service.

My family took me out to dinner for Father's Day. It was such a mess from the beginning. The floors had food all over the place. They cleaned our table as we stood and waited. The table was soaking wet and the food just went in the seat. The waiter was good slow but good. This place was not even busy when we came. As far as the food it was sub par. My steak was 90% fat. My daughter food was cold and my wife never got a refill till we were done eating.

It was my first time there to eat. My daughter and her husband took me out to eat. It was around 6:30 or so August 4th 2018. My daughter ordered the guacamole duo from the menu while she was eating the guacamole she had ordered we found a very large piece of the guacamole peeling in it. We called our waiter over to tell him about it. All he said was at least it wasn't a cricket. I was shocked about that comment. He never said sorry about that or let me get you another bowl. He just walked off. We were sitting outside section of the restaurant. Then just a few minutes later the same waiter had come out one of the doors from inside. He was carrying a tray that had a couple of glasses with drinks in them and an empty to go cup. He dropped the to go cup on the ground. It did have the straw in the lid. And the lid was on the top of the cup. The cup fell straw side down. The straw did touch the ground. He bent down picked the cup up off the ground and placed it back onto the tray. He proceeded to the next table set the same cup down and took that customer drink and poured it into the cup. Then he walked off. I wanted to let everyone know that our waiter that night was Steven. After what I had seen I will probably will not be going back to on the boarder again. I will be looking for another restaurant to eat at. Looking at the first picture the piece of avocado peeling is on the left side of the bowl inside the bowl. The second picture is what I had ordered to eat.

Honestly, two tacos and two enchiladas and a kids meal for $52 at lunchtime is insane. I get that prices have gone up everywhere but let’s be real that’s just taking advantage of your customers… there’s no situation or explanation where that would realistically be 52 dollars

*EDIT* They partnered with Pappadeuxs and changed the menu. It is no longer an appealing menu, it's flavorless and plain. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat but we won't be back. They changed the entire menu and honestly it's gross. This location is one of our favorite eating spots. Hannah C. Is the best waitress we've had at any restaurant. Be sure to ask for her if you stop in!

On the border was one of my favorite restaurants. It also had the only salsa I've ever liked. They changed it. It's practically water with spices. It does not coat the chip well. They shouldn't have been bought out. They were perfect before.

Some of the worst customer service I have ever had at any place I have been to. 45 minutes to get seated more than seven minutes to get a refill turned into a game and started timing the guy every time a cup would run out. Can't even tell you how long it took to get the food out all I know is we were at the restaurant more than two hours from time we set down to the time we got our check. And when the food did come out the waiter said sorry our cook is having a bad day. Totally uncalled for only thing we ordered was a sampler platter and chicken nachos and chicken bowl should never take that long at a restaurant to grab a bite to eat.

I have been going to on the border for years on my recent visit there I found out that everything has changed and not for the better. The salsa chips and queso are terrible now. They even changed the chicken fajitas. Apparently Pappadeaux‘s bought on the border. This was my favorite play to eat but it looks like I will have to find something to replace them.

Pappasito’s killed this place for us. What was our original go to spot every Friday night is now in the rear view mirror since they took over. The new queso is disgusting and the dollar store tortilla chips suck. The food is now bland and terrible. I miss the real otb. RIP to the OG. We would drop a bill every Friday, so in the end we are saving money so guess that’s a win. If I wanted Pappasito’s I’d go there.

I'm really sad because me and my husband loved coming here for the queso and fajitas. They were recently bought out apparently, and now it's just basic bland Mexican food. I won't be coming back unfortunately... I used to give them half my paycheck for their queso 😅 The waitress is trained to say that their food is better quality and upgraded. This is not true I now have a restaurant myself and this is majorly downgraded....

I have been going to on the border since I was little with my mom I am now 52 years old and have faithfully gone every weekend no matter where I was living! I will never go there again since the menu changed!! This was the only place I could get awesome salsa and chips now they suck i mean suck! Both the salsa and the chips! My burrito the meat is awful everything tast so horrible! This is the first time I have ever git sick from eating at on the border! Yall really messed up !! Not fix something that's not broken!

I used to LOVE On the Border. Good Tex-mex with great salsa and queso. Now that theyve been bought out, they seem to have changed everything! They’ve change to warm, fire roasted salsa and cheap, thin chips. The queso tasted different, and my favorite meal did NOT taste the same at all. I won’t be returning unless I hear they have reversed these changes…..

Didn't know that papasitos owned and operated OTB. Unhappy knowledge to say the least. Chips razor thin, cheese dip bland, salsa not as good as OTB. ALL CHANGE IS NOT GOOD CHANGE. Don't know why they had to mess with the best thing about OTB. OHĤ and don't look for another staple with the fajitas NO FREAKIN GREEN PEPPERS. I was soooooo Unhappy 🙁 spending 47.00. HEll No to the TIP. Best TIP DON'T MESS WITH WHAT'S WORTH THE PRICE .

We’re from Houston and we were in Burleson for a wedding. We’ve been to On the Border in Houston many times with no problem. This was the worst tasting “tex mex” I’ve ever had! Taco Bell has this place beat x10! The food looks like it was taken out of a freezer and put in the microwave. We had 6 adults and the bill came out to $178!!! Don’t even bother going here!

I can't believe y'all changed the food just because you were bought out. You don't need to change your signature queso and salsa just because you were bought by Papasitos. Papasitos does not taste good at all. I've only eaten there once and never went back because it was awful. Therefore, now your food does not taste good. Salsa has changed, queso changed, chips changed and even the ground beef has changed. The beef empanadas didn't taste good anymore. I was only able to eat one. I was a repeat customer, but not anymore. Until you change it back, I won't be back. Service was excellent though. What a shame. I know you claim the change was meant to be an improvement, but I hope you understand that it is definitely not! This will set you back. Why can't you keep the same recipes and food? Doesn't make sense.
