Super tasty tacos and refreshing fruit juices!
The best chicken taco - ever. Get the simmered chicken, not the grilled (they have two kinds of chicken). They take a slice of Jack cheese and melt it on the grill inside the corn tortilla, then fill it with everything else. SO good! The ingredients are good quality, portions generous and flavor is great. If you want really hot sauce, you have to ask for the red sauce specifically - otherwise they give you one that's kind of a mix of green and red
La Taqueria is the best Mexican food around, and this is coming from someone who lives in L.A. Family-owned and operated, the place is an absolute gem. Everything on the menu is delicious. Some might say it's pricey, but the ingredients are of the highest quality, and it's worth every penny. No place I'd rather go when I'm in town.
Amazing Service! Get the super taco you won’t regret it !!
Amazing people! Amazing food. Not your normal asada but it’s amazing
Best asada taco dorado I have had in my life. Their meat is freshly grilled right in front of youI also had a burrito and now I feel like I have to drive from Modesto to turlock any time I crave a burrito.
One of the best real tacos my family and I have eaten. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the people and customer service is awesome. I've introduced very many people to this place and not one person was disappointed.
Consistently delicious food and friendly staff.
This place was fire. The steak had some good flavor carnitas were of the chain and the grilled chicken was flavorful. Oh and customer service was beyond great. White lady is allergic to beans and we order tacos not knowing they come with beans. I went to order new ones since it wasn't their fault and they were super nice and didn't charge me......
The tacos and burritos are large and filling. I m a fairly good eater, and two tacos and a drink do me for dinner. Large variety of meats....very tender. The green sauce on the table is pretty warm, but delicious. Lots of seats, even booths are roomy for us hefty folk. The best thing is the prices are SO reasonable. We spent $17 for dinner! Usually dinner out is nearly twice that. Good place for families and young singles.
Food is delicious! Honestly a little pricy, but I don't mind bc the food is fresh and seems like the cooks really care about the quality. I love getting the shrimp or grilled chicken tacos extra crispy and with EVERYTHING! Two tacos is more than enough for one adult, I would be fine with one, but they are so tasty!! The green salsa is great and pico de gallo is interesting because it's all minced very fine, so the flavors kinda blend - not what I'm used to, but I like it. I've also had a burrito and their nachos are tasty too.
Fantastic food I haven't ordered something k didn't really enjoy yet. The chips are crispy and thick, the grilled chicken is fantastic and they put good servings into everything. It's a little pricey for that "cut above a taco truck" vibe but worth the money imo.
The loaded chips are under rated they are always delicious and meat is on another level! The Burrito equally just as good wish they were a bit bigger other than that I highly recommend them just don’t expect same flavor as a taco truck which in my opinion la Taquria is on another level😎🤤
The food is really good and authentic. The fruit drinks selection is awesome you can't find a place with that many available. Very impressed with first visit I will definitely be coming back. The customer service is also great they really take the time to get you what you want even if it's not on the menu. Great place hands down!!!
The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing! Will be back if we’re in the area :)
Best mexican food we have tried in our lives! The stuff was amazing, very friendly and make us immediately feel welcome. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
I travel from Modesto just to go here. The carne asada is chargrilled and cut into good size pieces, it’s so good. I’ll get the crispy tacos, delux nachos, or super burrito. The staff is always friendly. Clean tables and bathrooms or drive thru. They serve Pepsi products!
I am a regular customer, and will continue to be till the end of time. Best tacos you'll get in Turlock. I always send people there, and will continue to do so. Exceptional service as well! They treat you like family. Highly recommend them to everyone.
Customer service was great, food it was delicious, good portions, I order regular tongue burrito, the meat was very soft, tasty, all ingredients fresh they offer me green salsa it was so good. Definitely will come back.
The food is absolutely delicious! Always making my day better with each bite. The drive thru service was very nice with being patient. Obviously it doesn’t look like much on the outside but nonetheless the food will keep you craving.
The food was great! I visited sept this year
This is an authentic Mexican restaurant so be ready to pay alittle extra. The food is truly authentic and every time I try a New Mexican restaurant I alway try the chile verde. If the chile verde is good then everything else will be good. And this place had the best chile verde. You won’t be disappointed. Try it!
The best Mexican food around! The meat is so soft and flavorful, the burrito bowls are my favorite. They have melted cheese and everything tastes amazing and fresh:)
Food is amazing! Service is 100% Atmosphere is pleasant and friendly, very welcoming. Lovely hard working ladies taking orders are amazing and awesome! Felt like I knew each one for years, lol. I recommend this place 100% and I will be coming back every chance I get when traveling through. No doubts.❤️💯🤌
Wow I stopped at this taqueria passing through Turlock and the tacos and agua Fresca really hit the spot! They add pico sauce and beans to their tacos. When you walk in you see the ladies cooking up the food and they are so nice so you know the food is going to be so good! I recommend!
The staff at La Taqueira are amazing! The food is made by humble, caring, and loving people. It's always the same awesome taste of the green sauce. I recommend La Taqueira, go and tasted yourselves.
I found this place not too long ago, and I'm here to say that it's one of the best tacos I've tried in all Turlock! So delicious, and the tacos are BIG with an insane amount of meat, and that's a REALLY GOOD THING! The people working here are also very nice, which makes it even better to visit.
Okay it’s a bit expensive but don’t knock it. Where else can you get a delicious all meat burrito with really good guacamole? I’ve been going to the one on mission since I was kid but this still keeps the same flavor. The one on mission tho has something special going. Maybe the decorations and that’s it is a well established local business. Nonetheless, delicious food and great natural juices.
Food is so delicious! You need to try for yourself!
The food here is amazing! And the service is awesome. I have NO complaints whatsoever. We've had the burritos and salsa and chips, both are excellent. And the fruit drinks? Oh. My. Wow!!
A coworker took me here. I would've never walked in here as my own choice, but I'm sure glad I've discovered it. The Carne Asada meat is high quality and does not have "funny" pieces that are tough and chewy. My favorite are the green and red Taco sauces. Can't get enough. This Taco has a hard shell with a soft shell wrapping it and we upgraded to the "Super."
Great food a little bit pricey but excellent in quality
Growing up in San Jose there used to be one there. Then they left. So I would go to the in SF. Moved to Tracy and found out they had one in here in Turlock. Wasn't sure if they were the same but having eaten here it's exactly the same. The lady even told me the chairs and tables were from the one they had in SJ. The meat is flavorful and the quesadillas with the pico are so good. The best part is it's no where near as crazy as the one in SF. No fighting for tables or waiting in some huge line. Absolutely a go to.
I love this place I've been coming here over 20 years
Really good probably the best I've had in the 209' tacos with cebolla y cilantro and the spicy sauce combo goes crazy .
GREAT FOOD! I recommend the super burrito , you can split it or eat it alone but it’s huge and amazing.
My husband and I ate here on our way home from San Francisco and were pleasantly surprised. The staff is incredibly friendly and generous; they let us try different meats before we ordered which was very much appreciated (none of the meat was chewy/fatty which is a plus for me) and didn’t rush us even though they were closing soon. The food was amazing and the price point seems fairly typical to anywhere else you would go honestly, plus the burritos we ordered were insanely huge! The horchata was so good, more creamy like a chai I thought. Thanks again to the staff for being so awesome, we’ll have to come back next time we’re in town.
This restaurant in San Francisco received a Michelin Star this year 2025. I heard there was one in Turlock so I had to try it to see if it compared. It did not disappoint. Now I don't have to go to SF and battle the traffic and lines to enjoy. Absolutely delicious. Get the crispy regular burrito with cheese. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Atmosphere set up like a fast food ask for tacos crispy you'll get both & soft to hold it all together 2 tacos is a meal .
Had the carna asada tacos on fried corn tortillas with cilantro onions and green salsa. Best meat hands down. Order regular carna asada burritos for family Ordered super carne asada burrito for son.he loved all the flavors. The way the meat prepared on grrill.Flame was cool as it was cooking. Beans rice very tasty along with guacamole onions cilantro. He switched bites between red and green side salsa. Meal was worth the drive. My burrito was made perfect. Just like the last time we ordered. Ingredients were freshhhh.Salsa very good.I tried both Service very good friendly staff Very helpful on giving us extra cilantro n onions. My other son had 2 pastor hard shell taco fully loaded. Very great experience for us. His burrito was huge for super carne Asada. Bean and rice and all the extras. Top 10 on food quality. 2025 best burrito and taco for me. I even have been to the SF location. Same flavor and good customer service. Team La Taqueria has reach the goal of best food burrito. All food was very good here.looking forward to the next trip back. Thank you again La Taqueria turlock
If you don’t want to wait in line at the San Francisco location, the Central Valley has the same thing. Food was fresh and delicious. We tried their chorizo super taco, asada super taco, quesadilla and a super burrito. The tamarindo agua fresca was one of the better ones I’ve ever tried. Excellent spot, it wasn’t our first or last time visiting.
A former Dairy Queen location now converted to a San Francisco favorite. Simply decored with movie posters from Mexico's golden age of cinema and wooden tables and chairs, the star here is the food. Known more for their burritos, we keep ordering the various options of delicious and freshly made tacos. These aren't small tacos like the trucks serve, they're full sized and they even ask how you want your tortillas cooked.
They grilled the food right in front of me, so it was really fresh, not like some places where you get food that's been sitting in a bin or under a heat lamp for hours. They losd whatever you order with meat and bean, instead of fillers like rice (You can request it if you like though). They have two sauces in the fridge, red (hot) and green (mild). I loved the hot sauce because it had just the right amount of heat, and really brought out the flavor of the food when it cooled down. That was the best burrito I had in years. Thank you!
It's hard to find words that will distinguish this place from other Mexican restaurant because it really is in a class of its own and by that I mean high above everyone else. Hands down the best burrito I've ever had and it's not even close. The lengua quesadilla was also high caliber, the meat was perfectly seasoned tender amd juicy. The asada tacos were huge and the meat was also seasoned very well and cooked to a nice tenderness with the perfect charr
I’ve only been to La Taqueria once, but I am sure I’ll be back often. The service was great, as soon as I walked in with my kids they asked if it was our first time and started passing us samples from their meats. I always go for el pastor, and there’s was so good. I had supreme tacos and my kids had a quesadilla and a burrito. I had to order more to go as well. I also tried their aguas frescas, horchata and guava, both pretty good. My favorite was Guava. Definitely coming back again. They even have a drive thru, and now that I know about them I’ll be driving thru too often. I recommend 10/10.
We were looking at the menu and the cashier asked us if it was our first time. We said yes and then she gave us samples to try the asada, pastor, and carnitas. It was really made me narrow my choices, though they do have more meat options. The asada Supreme burrito we got was delicious. I like spicy so I put more red sauce on it and was so good!! The tacos are pretty big and lots of meat. I will be back and try other meats!
I'm beyond crazy about the super chorizo burrito! I know it looks ridiculously greasy which it is, but its not an I feel sluggish after eating Grease. Everything is made fresh and made with love! My family and I love it here! Great Customer Service and delicious food to go along! Now for some super honesty, prices are high, but if you think about it all top taco trucks are nearly the same all around the turlock area. So once again you pay for what you get! You definitely get high quality food here.
This place deserves more reviews! I know La Taqueria from SF. I was so excited when the family decided to open a location in Turlock. People travel far and wide for these tacos in the mission district, so people from the valley should follow suit. The green sauce is where it is at, don't get it twisted. The food was delicious and hearty. Don't skip out, get super everything. If you're getting a taco, i recommend dorado style (don't question it, just try it). Lastly, the staff is always friendly and the tables are constantly cleaned. Moral of this review: stop here for great food. (mic drop)
Great family customer services, clean restaurant but most important food is good. Don’t matter what meat you get, you can taste the freshness of meat and quality.. But be prepared tacos are $5 each with everything. I would give them a 5 star but they are a little over priced.
Prices are a little high for a Taqueria. Meat, salsa, beans in a tortilla pushes 10$, extra for the cheese or sour cream. The burrito was prettt damn good though. I think that the customer service out weighs it all. Super nice, talked the whole time having me almost forggeting I ordered. Place is really clean as well. 5 stars if it were slightly cheaper.
Food is average, prices are above average. I have seen business charging 25 to 50 cents for credit card transaction but, these guys charge what they call non cash adjustment which varies with your bill amount. Worst part is, they don't even tell you that they are charging that. Don't get fooled by their mom and pop looks. Again the food is good but, it's their cash register practices are not acceptable. Not in this day an and age of plastic money.
Very good taco....some of the best, made to order exactly how you want. And they are bigger than other places with more meat. However, that said they are much more expensive than similar establishments. Well worth it in my opinion. Kind, friendly staff. They have a dining area and a drive-thru so either way your good. Give them a try, you wont regret it. I highly recommend.
I had an asada burrito with the work's and it was excellent
Very overpriced! Not sure why "authentic" Mexican food would cost more? Friendly staff though.
Had two tacos. They were pretty good. One chicken. One asada. My first time having tacos that had beans on them but it kinda worked. It made them more filling. But for $6 a taco, I would prefer more meat to beefing it up with beans. Flavor was good. Hot sauces were good.
This place is clean and has great food but the service was a little off and the price for a taco was out of this world super expensive so if u want to take stuff off your taco and put it to the side ur not able to do that either keep it on or don't I thought that was a little different I have surgery and I'm not able to eat certain foods so that kinda of bored me but the place had some amazing food super different there pico is not spicy which was awesome well if u have money to burn this is the place there food is amazing and the place is clean
This place is okay. That's it. The quality of the meat and other ingredients is good, and they have a pretty good salsa, but the food still manages to be a bit bland. Definitely not worth the price. The base prices for tacos and burritos are already pretty high, and that is for the simple version. Anything extra will cost you dearly. On top of that they've increased the prices "due to covid" , and they charge an extra 3% for using debit or credit. The services kind of harried, and the employees are just okay. For these kind of prices I suggest going to a nice sit down Mexican meal at any one of our fine restaurants here in Turlock. For more basic taqueria type food at more sensible prices, go to El Asadero!
It's a good taco. But fell short on flavor comparison vs the San Francisco location. SF prices are a bit much for the central valley. Unfortunately I find better options at a local taco truck.
Tacos are really big. I'm a man who don't full easy I got enough with 3 tacos .they are good just I guess they need to improve the flavor is nothing diferent on other places. Any drinks are so expensive for the size Large size for here in other places should be the medium size., The small size here in other places should be a kids drink. It's a clean place and the guy who are cleaning the dinning room was a very kind boy . Over all is a good place
Their food is really good, theirs a few ppl who attend you but one lady in particular always seems in a bad mood and kinda gives attitude everytime I go and the most thing I HATE about this place is how they never give u a salsa u can order a huge meal and they don’t throw in any and if u ask for some it’s a automatic charge but I mean who in the hell eats Mexican food without any type of salsa I feel like I shouldn’t have to ask for it can throw one or two in their atleast and I I need more then yes I’ll gladly pay for it but they really need to give salsas with their food
According to La Taqueria in San Francisco this restaurant is not the real thing and they are not making the food like the original and they do not have the blessing of the original owners basically according to La Taqueria in San Francisco this is just a cheap knockoff now.. lataqueriasf 12m Gnikon68 The Turlock location originally opened years ago with Miguel's blessing and recipes, but it's been run completely separate from our SF location for a long time. Their menu and style have changed over the years, and Miguel is no longer involved. So yes, that is in fact our logo, but it is run by completely different cooks, and management. Reply
I personally felt like the food is not worth the price. I got some shrimp tacos and it was really lacking in flavor. They gave us samples of the pastor and asada, which the pastor was actually pretty decent. They had some yummy agua frescas though and fairly priced. Overall, it was an okay experience, and I'm not sure if it was enough to make me want to try again.
I like that it has a drive thru but the food quality is inconsistent. One day the Pollo was well seasoned and the food was fresh in general, the next time none of the meat was seasoned, the rice was bland, and the taco shells were very greasy. The aqua fresca menu has a lot of choices but they're out of several everytime we've asked. So it's very hit or miss.
Food is good. Service is slow sometimes, they charge a fee for any card payments, and they've gotten my order wrong more than a few times. If they'd step their game up I'd go more often like I used to. Sucks to get home and not have what you ordered. The main guy there always seems to have an attitude and doesn't like to give salsa when ordering in the drive thru.
The food was okay. Could have got the same thing from a taco truck for half the price. $30 for a burrito without rice and 2 tacos yikes.
Pretty mid. The burrito I had was $15 and all because it had avocado on it I guess. The salsa was super spicy but didn't really have a lot of flavor to it. I didn't really enjoy it, especially since it cost $50 to feed my wife and I and our two kids under 3.
Food was average although we didn’t try the tacos which is what everyone else seemed to be ordering. Maybe that is where all the hype about this place comes from. Paid $15 for a chicken burrito that I was t impressed with and $12 for loaded chips which is their version of nachos, I think. Like I said earlier, average at best. I was hoping with all of the hype this place would have been a little bit more.
I'm not sure what the hype is about honestly. I wasn't expecting to pay 15 dollars for a burrito and small soda but figured they must be amazing. The burritos were small and tastes average. You're better off going to a taco truck. I've been to many mom and pop places that would blow this place out the water when it comes to flavor, price and portions. Maybe tacos are their thing. I didn't try them. I wanted to try this place out and I did. I'll never be back though and I'm confused how they are rated so highly.
Best tacos in the world? Nah, not even close. They're good but super basic. Let's talk about the price though. 4.75 a piece for normal beans, meat and salsa tacos with no cheese. 7.35 a piece for the super tacos. That's ridiculous. You're better off going to one of the other great trucks here in Turlock where the food is just as good or better and half the price.
Workers were rude, my burrito was mushed in the foil wrapping, burrito was tasteless and also wasnt spicy even though i added pico de gallo. My burrito had no rice/ no salt or any seasonings, also there food is way to expensive for the absence of flavor. Do not reccomend, just get fast food this point
My quesadilla had hardly any cheese and it was a cheese quesadilla. I was charged for a very tiny cup of salsa to go with it. I asked for cheese on my taco, was charged for it and did not get any.
Order a burrito asada supreme for 17$ (burrito alone) I was expecting It to be hot/warm but I guess you specifically have to ask for it on the crispy side In order for it not to be cold other than that the guy who is taking your order has a very lazy work ethic kinda felt like I was Interacting with the sloth from zootopia
Not worth it at all, For paying $17.50 for a burrito supreme. Very thin. Also had to go back twice because they still put onions in it. Should’ve just got my miney back. Service was good though.
Heard this was same owner as the one in SF and food was the same. Food was ok nothing special compared to any other taqueria. For the price I'd expected more not much flavor. $60 for 2 burritos a single taco and 2 large horchata's. I'll stick to my favorite taco truck.
So, I really wanted to try this place for a while. I ordered the carne asada super burrito. No rice is a bonus for me and the avocado is awesome, however the meat had zero flavor, not even sure they even salt and pepper it. The salsa is just okay. The price is just insane. With a small drink it was over $19. Most of the taco trucks and restaurants are as good or better and actually flavor their meat. Very disappointing.
The food is good however they never listen when I ask for no pico. Today I bought a burrito and specifically asked for NO PICO and what did these useless employees do added pico. I took a bite out of my burrito and instantly Spit it out 0 out of 10. Don’t come here!!!
First time and last time I eat here! Ordered 2 burritos, 1 asada and 1 shrimp burrito. Worse burritos Ive ever tasted! They had pinto beans that were not drained, so the burritos were leaking, the asada seemed to be made in soup somehow, they had no flavor, no hot sauce even though we ordered it with hot sauce. Not to mention how expensive they were, $28 !!! We should have realized that it wasnt going to be good when we pulled up to the drive through and we were the only ones there at 1230pm, which should be busy for lunch time. We would have much rather spent that money on Mc Donalds across the street.
I had to put 1 star to write a review, but in reality it’s 0 stars… It’s to EXPENSIVE NOT WORTH IT… I ordered 3 tacos and I was so surprised to hear that is was $29.50 and a kids size soda $4.00 dollars…THE TACOS WAS NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!! NEVER GOING BACK THERE THAT’S FOR SURE!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TAQUERIA AT ALL!!!
Service was very slow thru drive thru. I ordered 1 taco meat and cheese only. I repeated it 3 x they still got it wrong gave it to me with beans and pico de Gallo when I said meat and cheese only. Had 6 workers standing around. Seems like the left hand don't know what the right hand is doing. A guy came to window day did they charge u. Repeated it, said did u get soda said no was only a sm pepsi.
Very racist, if you even look Hispanic they speak to you in Spanish and treat you like a regular customer but if you don't look that way they will speak to you like a teacher talking to a 5 year old and will interrupt you constantly while ordering. My girlfriend walks in to order and she doesn't look Hispanic but speaks Spanish and they talk bad about the lighter skinned customers thinking they can't understand. This restaurant is despicable and should do better or close
First off the prices are outrageous! $7.35 for a taco with everything!!!!! $4.50 for just the meats! We ordered at drive thru, 3 tacos and 2 agua de hochatas were just a few dollars short of $40! Okay price aside 🙃 we waited in the drive through for about 15 minutes, with a few cars behind us. We pull out and park in the shade and only 2 tacos were there and not even the right tacos! We had to go back only to find out our tacos were never made!!!!! So we had to wait again for all the cars in the drive thru, we asked for our tacos not be deep fried.... and BAMM SURPRISE DEEP FRIED!!!!! We moved to fresno and would make a drive every now and then, but this time we were definitely disappointed! 2 weeks ago my mom tried to bring us tacos in fresno and she got to the window and they refused to take her order because she had a order of more than 20 tacos. Definitely will be looking for a different taco place 😖
I will never eat there ever again they said they're cabeza tacos were cabeza meat but it was just roast beef with some fat in there I'm a chef and I know all too well how meat is supposed to feel and taste and they lie badly
First time coming here and already messed up my order. 1st burrito 🌯 al pastor supreme. 2nd burrito 🌯 beef supreme. The beef burrito was chicken not beef. The second burrito was chorizo not al pastor. How do you not understand how to take orders if you been working there for maybe years. It shows the lack of experience they have and must be taught more how to do orders perfectly. How can you make a simple mistake. Friend told me they make good food here. More like mistake orders place. Second time I went and ordered 4 tacos al pastor. They turned out to be chicken and 3 tacos. Not coming here if they have no clue how to understand how to make a simple order perfectly.
