Recensioni di Twisted Root Burger Company Waco
I love it here!! I got the western burger, The patty was juicy and not too thick, but not too thin. I got the french fries as well and it was seasoned to perfection. I also ordered a strawberry shake however they were out of the strawberry ingredient they needed so they substituted it for an Oreo shake, and it was delightful. I don’t care for my shakes to be too thick because then it’s more of a malt. This one was perfectly done. The whipped cream was probably my favorite. It was so incredibly soft and fluffy. As it was my first time there, I received guidance from Oscar! He was incredibly sweet, answered all of my questions, and make sure I was well taken care of. The atmosphere was a little dark for my taste, but it was incredibly chill and relaxing. However, I can also see it getting pretty crazy during dinner time and on the weekends if you find yourself in the Waco area or just passing through make sure you stop here. 🫶🏼🍔
My wife told me pretty quickly.."this place is a 5." We went here while visiting Waco, lots of changes since I went to school at Baylor. The restaurant was relatively busy. Our orders were taken pretty quickly, the food took a bit of time coming out.. but it was worth it. I loved the Pickle barrels, lots of choices.
Fantastic burgers. Get the millionaire. Also, the root beer bbq sauce was amazing. You order at the register, and they bring you the food. My only complaint was that there were people needing tables, and no one was around to clean the dirty ones off. We cleaned up a table ourselves and sat down. Huge bar in the middle of the restaurant.
Best burger in Waco in the most unique venue with satisfying fries. Lots of little things “make” this place, in addition to the great American food. Quirky stuff like fake taxidermy, funny famous people cards for your order name, no windows, giant projectors displaying sports and old music videos, and on and on. Perfectly cooked medium burger comes standard (just that hint of pink) with a juicy medium thickness patty, decent bun, and quality toppings. They have some interesting house cocktails on tap, along with a full scale bar. It’s both culinary and experiential, a one-two 🤛 worth the stop.
This place is fun and has great food. The bison burger was great. Just wish they had ostrich or moose in stock.
Me and my wife were on our way back home from Dallas, and started getting hangry! Looked up some places in the Waco area and found this place and thought it looked cool! The place had an awesome vibe, super cool atmosphere, and great fat burgers with, tasty fries, and rings! Will definitely be making some trips back from Jarrell to hang out at this gem! And don't forget to try the pickles!👌
Delicious place for burgers and root beer. Lots to choose from and it took a few minutes to narrow down the perfect Monday night football dinner. The food came out quickly and it was excellent! The generously loaded burger was skillfully assembled and easy to eat. It really held together with layers of flavor in every bite. While some loaded burgers fall appart and become messy to eat, this one did not. Great beer selection but the root beer at the fountain was rich and creamy and won out. It is a large open space with cool decorations and lots of character. Some may find it too loud but nobody complained in our group.
Great tasting burger (char-grilled). Unique combinations of toppings or build your own. Get your full of dill pickles *different flavor barrels! Overall a great value.
Fun place. Fast service even when the place was full of customers. Great food. Large serving sizes. Great vibe. I prefer higher resolution big screen TVs instead of fuzzy projections onto the walls. Their Milk Shakes were superb and I loved their fried pickles! The soda was not too sweet and it tasted more like flavored soda which made it more thirst quenching.
First time here with friends on a trip, it went great! Very friendly cashier when we first walk in, Isaiah was very nice and talked to us, I enjoy a nice interaction! The food we ordered was super filling but delicious. We ordered fried pickles and The Millionaire, I highly recommend it if you don’t mind a messy, filled burger! The pickle bar had tasty, crunchy pickles mixed with different flavors! The restrooms are clean as well. I will be coming back again when in the area!
Delicious burger joint. The line can be long so be prepared. The day we went, there was only one person taking orders so that took awhile. However the food was prepared fresh and came out fast. There is a large bar area so you can sit there or find a table. It’s an order first at the counter and then sit down. Although while I ordered for our group, the rest of them found us a couple of tables side by side (there was 14 of us in our party). Try the variety of pickles in the barrels too.
It was my first time eating here at Twisted Root Burger Co. Went with my sister Sandra and her 2yr old granddaughter Adriana. I was so surprised that little Adriana really enjoyed the Org Twisted Cheese Fries. I had the Lotsashroom burger and my sister had The Western burger. We also love all the different types of pickles they had to choose from. Can't wait to have another girls day out. So we can go there again to eat. Thank you Twisted Root Burger Co. for the amazing dinner.
Had an amazing experience at this Twisted Root. LOVE the atmosphere and energy of this place. Since each one is uniquely designed I find it fun to see how they are all set up in there own way. This one did not disappoint! The staff was super friendly and the bar tender made my wife an awesome margarita! For just passing through Waco I will be back next time I come through the area for sure!!
This was our first time and won't be our last. A little pricey but worth every penny. I had the Mushroom burger. My husband had the Western, and my daughter had the grilled cheese. The burgers were cooked to perfection on homemade buns with just the right amount of toppings. The fried pickles were delicious, onion strings were divine and, the french fries were just right. We got cheese fries and regular fries and I would suggest just going with the regular ones the cheese drowned the flavor of the fries. The root beers were cool and refreshing. But what makes this place is a laid back kicked back atmosphere. With celebrity names being called out on the regular. We made a point to stop again!! The service was amazing. They paid special attention to my allergies and went above and beyond. Plus we upped our game and got a Root beer float this time.
Amazing burger bar. The staff is friendly and always ready to suggest you the best drinks or burgers for the night. The patties are a little too thin but the prices of the burgers are very affordable. You can eat an amazing burger for $8 here. I tired the millionaire burger which you can see in the pics. Will definitely go back here!
For my son's small family wedding, I took the wedding party and families out for the rehearsal dinner here at Twisted Root. It was an excellent choice, and they accommodated us at the last minute due to usual wedding planning issues. The atmosphere was great, the staff was more than helpful to me as well as friendly and the food was delicious... The pricing point is more than 5 star! Thanks for the quick service and tolerating my load announcements..
Thus was a really fun unique experience. The building catches your eye with the creative artwork and industrial look. Inside was great, plenty of seating options to fit your needs and likes. The Inside layout was also unique and inviting. We sat at the bar and ordered food there. You can also order from a walk up counter. They have a pickle bar with a variety of pickles to choose from which I thought was pretty cool! The mixed drinks were made well and the bartenders were fun and friendly. The burgers were absolutely delicious, I really liked the French fries, and the fried pickles were some of the best I have had. I just want to say go here! For real! Stop reading reviews and do it now! If you enjoy it follow me for more reviews, if you don't like it follow me anyway 😉 OK now go! Have fun, enjoy your day!
this place was so delicious!! I really enjoy a really good basic burger. I can’t get over the flavor of this burger. It was super delicious and worth the price! My husband and brother also really enjoy the burger. It is super fresh and hot when you receive your order. I would highly recommend!!
We brought our entire softball team to Twisted Burger after a big game, and it was an awesome experience! The atmosphere was super chill and perfect for a group like ours. Big shoutout to the bartender—absolute rockstar! Even with a full bar and our rowdy crew, they kept the drinks flowing, remembered everyone's order, and made us feel right at home. Food was great, service was even better. Highly recommend for teams or big groups looking to unwind. We'll definitely be back!
This was a quick pitstop on our way to Dallas. We are glad we stopped! The service was quick and the food was great. I enjoyed the vats of pickles available for tasting.
A good place to dine in. We have been here for two times and it was really good. This time we came for lunch. We really like the vibe of this place. It’s very vibrant, energetic and filled with friendly people. They have a veggie burger for vegetarians that you can substitute for the meat in all the sandwiches. My husband eats chicken so he ordered the tootsies hot chicken sandwich. I ordered the classic veggie burger. Both were good. This time though they had lack of seasoning. Not sure why we felt that. But I still gave them 5 stars. We also ordered the fries with cheese which was very good.
Oh man! I always drove by this place on the highway, but today I finally stopped in. So eclectic, on the inside, and with quick service to boot. And the burger I got! Oh man! I don’t think I’ve ever wolfed down a burger of that size, that fast, ever! This spot is definitely worth a stop!
Passed by this place several times and finally decided to stop. Great atmosphere, though it was crowded food came out relatively quick, was served hot, and had good flavor. Loved how you are given a random card and have to listen for your name. Overall a fun, good place to eat. We will return.
Has been over a year since visiting Twisted Root Waco and it was as I remembered. Great pickles, fun vibe great burgers and sides. I waa disappointed with my burger as it was overcooked and the cheese wasn't melted, which implies fast open face cooking. The kitchen may have been overwhelmed do to a school bus of people in front of us. However, our other 2 burgers and sides were spot on, and I ate every bit, so there was really nothing to complain about. Great location, fun vibe and good burgers, you can't ask for much more.
The food here is very good. This is not a standard hamburger place. The food here is a little bit more eclectic. Inside is just a huge empty like warehouse. You can definitely tell it is a college town. The people there are very energetic and seemed to be happy.I like to see people who enjoy where they work. My wife had the low rider hamburger and I had the western. The fries are really good, especially the homestyle fries. They remind me when I was young and my mom would make me french fries. The fried carrots and green beans really tasted good. I prefer them over french fries because I know they're just better for you. I highly recommend this place. It gets a little pricey.
The cheeseburger and fried green beans were very good. The atmosphere was lacking. The bread and butter pickles are so good.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. If you like bacon, I suggest the Kevin Bacon burger! It is delicious. We went on Father’s Day and they were incredibly busy. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our food. There were quite a few other patrons upset about the wait - but it is just the rush of a holiday weekend. Have a little patience, the food is worth it!! Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious!
We came in from out of state and all we were craving was a burger! This stop was an absolute MUST! Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and GREAT MARGARITAS!
Came here with friends and had a great time. The place was packed but they still treated us with great customer service and we were able to find a table with no issue. The vibe is very laid back and chill. The food was really good, we had a couple kids meals (cheeseburgers), a BYOB and I got the Gosh Jam It Burger and added Fried Onions, Bacon and Chipotle Sauce. The burger was yummy and the flavors blended well! We also enjoyed an order of fried pickles at the table along with samples of their free flavored pickles not pictured. All in all we enjoyed ourselves, the crowd was lively and the kids said this is their new favorite burger place so we will be back again!
This was our second visit to Twisted Root and it was so great! I got the chicken tenders they were so juicy. We are from San Antonio and can't wait to go back so we can try another menu item. The pickle bar is also the best!!!
They offer unique meat choices for the burger. They sometimes have kangaroo, elk, and camel. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the game choices due to the holiday season shipment being delayed. The burgers are fresh and delicious! The wait is minimum. We'll be back to try the game meats.
My family went here after the Waco Zoo (8 total) and it was phenomenal. My kids got the tenders and it was not a disappointing kids meal for the price or quality. The burgers the adults got were immaculate. Everyone in the group did a Build a Burger, and I personally went adventurous and got the Wild Game Burger and the meat of choice was Camel. The burger was cooked deliciously, and I have been to wild game restaurants before, best quality camel burger I have ever had. A huge slice of goat cheese over the top, and most of all to complement, the dark beer sauce. A dark beer au jus that was pure matching heaven. My wife and I split the fried pickles, which were not terrible. Not the best I've had (a little soggy) but flavor was great and for quantity and price, not upset. Fresh cut fries were great. Do not sleep on the custom chipotle ketchup, horseradish mustard, or the root beer bbq. Finally the pickle barrels, they serve pickles to accompany your meal. The sweet heat and atomic were my favorite, but the bread and butter, ranch, and dill were also pleasant.
I could rave about this place until my face turns purple! By far, hands down, the best burger I’ve had in ALL of Central Texas. It’s a must have stop whenever we visit Waco. I dream of their pickle barrels at least once a week 🤤 so delicious. You’ll regret not stopping and trying them for yourself!!
Second trip to Waco; first experience at Twisted Root Burger Company. My husband is a burger lover, so this was our lunch choice for him yesterday after a day of shopping (for me...he liked it too, don't let him fool you.) Our initial impression was wow! Cool building! Kudos to the artists who painted the murals. Fun place with delicious burgers. I got to build my own which is always a treat and he picked a standard with bacon. They were very tasty. And he got to be Harry Styles for a moment, although Harry is quite a bit younger and my husband would have preferred Sean Connery. But hey...we had awesome service and a yummy lunch. So that's what counts. Thank you all at Twisted Roots Burger Company for your hard work to make our visit a special one!

Quirky little burger joint! Fun atmosphere. Fast service. Great for a quick bite! I was not brave enough to order the peanut butter burger - maybe next time!
Wow!! Gluten free buns!! Delicious food!! Great service. Definitely a fun place to stop when you're in Waco. Creative decor and chill, kinda goofy vibe.

Fantastic food in a great setting and environment. Fried carrots and green beans were awesome. root beer is refreshing and burgers are made to order.
Good burgers. Fast and friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Bathrooms are clean. Parking is limited. prices are reasonable.
The burgers are delicious. Good variety, juicy burgers. Supposedly they make their own sodas too. Service was very friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices. Plenty of parking.
Great experience, service and good hamburgers. The pickle bar was awesome! Diverse flavors. Wheelchair accessible ramp entrance and there's two tables handicap wheelchair accessible in the entrance. If you need help carrying your food tray to your table the staff will friendly help you. You order in the front then pay and finally pick up your food.
It's a nice place to eat. It's self order but clean, ample amount of seating, with a bar and great food. The ambience inside is pretty cool. The only 2 criticisms for us was, the fries were too dark and the grilled cheese was pretty sad, the cheese wasn't even melted. We'd totally visit again though.
Food was very good, they also have in house Root Beer 🍺 sweet tea and afew other drinks (Can't fake real). Atmosphere was bit loud, they had 2 big projector screens on 2 of the walls for TV and classic music videos 🤙. Bathrooms were not very clean 😒...picking a table to dine in at was little tricky cause most of them were very sticky... Parking when we got there, there was plenty until rush HR it got quite full. Bison 🦬 meat in the burger was Goood 👌 workers were helpful. BIG Tex burger 🍔 Western Burger. 🍟 fries and onion strings, and two drinks 🥤 = $44
The hot chicken chicken sandwich and jam burger with goat cheese were great! Flavors were very good and different. We enjoyed the atmosphere, laid back and seating was great. Soda flavors were good and pickle bar options were a nice add on. Homeade fries were tasty.
Great stop if you are in town or driving through. It's right off the highway and close to the university. It's a neat venue with full bar and four projected screens on the walls. The burgers and fries were very good and they had a nice selection of unique options in their budget menu.
Fun place to have a burger. Very noisy, though, with huge big screen TVs, one of which was playing 80s music videos (other was ESPN). Food was good. They have various pickles for you to try (bread-n-butter, dill, sweet and spicy, ranch, and nuclear). Dining room is an old 3-story sized building and you can see all the way to the top.
As soon as you park you can see the vibe of this place and it continues inside! Cool art work and decore! It’s not your regular sit down restaurant you order at the counter, and pick up your food at the counter as well. Which is fine with me, but the workers were not friendly. As far as the food. It’s really good I had the tootsie hot chicken sandwich and it was big! Had good flavor, especially with the Nashville hot sauce 🔥 get an extra side of that! The house potatoe chips were better than the French fires. Overall solid !
The building caught our eye on the highway. We decided to stop on our way out of town. The atmosphere is amazing! The have a pickle barrel bar with all the pickle slices you need. I don’t know how they managed it but they also have a unicorn and giraffe head mounted. The food it’s self was amazing! The burgers had a lot of flavor, the kids chicken strips were juicy and the cheese fries were plentiful. My only complaint was the floors were super sticky! You could hear the footsteps over the music. I’d still go there just recommend them doing a better job at cleaning their floors.
Twisted Root is a family-friendly, fun-vibes spot. The screens, the music, the excellent customer service are second to none in Waco, TX. While the burgers aren't craft or the best in the region, they are worthy of your visit. Come with friends and family to really take advantage of the upbeat ambiance here. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Don't worry about the long lines either. The kitchen knows how to handle a crowd. You won't wait long before you have hamburger juices on your face! Lol They serve alternative meats and have a Pickle bar too!
In town for a baseball tournament. Decided to try this place. Great choice. Burgers were great. Staff was so friendly. Lots of room and clean. A little hard to get in because of all the road construction going on. Was looking forward to trying watermelon tea. Not so tasty but that because all made with pure cane sugar so they not as sweet as I would have liked. But food was good.
This place is super dope. I was on my way back to Austin and randomly found this place. The atmosphere is super chill and laid back. They have big projectors playing different things. I like the artwork as well. I sat at the bar and was able to order everything from there instead of getting in line. The bartender was amazing 🤩 I ordered the tiki Rita I really enjoyed it. It’s sweet and a little tart. I also ordered the cheese fries no bacon. The fries are cut thicc and seasoned well they also put copious amounts of cheese. It’s so good but so greasy! I had the vegan burger 🍔 the patty is a house made black bean quinoa mix. I found that it was quite good. I did have a few issues with it. The patty was too big for the bun so I had to cut a chunk off so it would fit on the bun properly. I also think they went a little bit heavy on the beans maybe add a bit more quinoa. Overall I do recommend this place and if I’m back in Waco I will definitely be back!
The atmosphere is nice. It is dim as there are no windows. The All American burger was good and so were the fries. The tootsies hot chicken was ok not hot, small for the price. My experience here was ok. It's pricey for the portions. You have to purchase everything separately. The total for a burger meal with a drink will run you over $15 and up.
A little confusing for someone who is visiting for a first time. No signage or anything explaining you need to go to the far corner and order first. Atmosphere is great. Homemade sauces and all types of pickles to choose from. Picking up food is a little rough since you can barely understand the guy shouting out order names. Root beer was very good. And food was tasty. Hot chicken was good as well.
My family visited Twisted Root Burger after hearing about it so much for some years. Something I noticed immediately after walking in, it was dark in the building. Not a negative, just a note. Other than that— the burgers were decent, they have a lot of options on the menu, even some wacky ones. I’ll most likely visit again just to try them.
First time trying Twisted Root Burger Co. As you drive up, the building looks fantastic with the murals all around and lit up well. As you walk in the atmosphere and vibe is great. It was a Sunday night, and the place was packed. You can tell that being right across from Baylor, this is definitely a college hot spot, yet still great for families. A lot of kids were there tonight as well. There is a bar in the middle, yet it doesn't feel like you're at a bar. The wait to order took some time. They have menus in line so you can figure out what you want while waiting in line. They use a local Texas soda company. The soda was OK. They also ran out of tea but replaced it eventually.. They also have a free pickle bar with 4 flavors. There were no containers to put pickles in when we were there. Also, one lid was broken, and I'm uncertain if the tongs ever hit the floor. The food took a very long time to come out due to it being packed. They use celebrity name cards to call you. They were also out of mushrooms, which is what my wife wanted, so she settled for the avocado burger, and I had the freshman 15. Both burgers were very good, hot, and juicy. My fries were cold. Cheese fries were hot and fresh. We also ordered a white chocolate raspberry shake, which, as a shake person and I've had a lot of shakes, this one had way too much puree. That's all you could taste. Not good. All in all, the place had a great vibe, great burgers, and I'm going to say the bad items due to how busy it was. I'd highly recommend it if you are in the area you stop by just for the atmosphere and the quality of rge burgers. Hope this helps.
Twisted Root Burger Co. The Burger: Build-Your-Own with Wagyu, Smoked Gouda, Grilled Onions on Brioche They were out of Gruyère, so I went with smoked Gouda—good call, but not a mind-blower. The Wagyu beef was seasoned well enough to stand solo, and the brioche bun was pillowy-soft, warm, and just glossy enough to make you feel like you were biting into something special. I missed out on the lettuce and tomato (didn’t realize you had to request them), but in hindsight, it gave me a purer bite of meat, cheese, and onion. Would’ve loved the Dijon crust or thyme-caramelized onions like the Le Wagyu boasts, but what I got was still a solid showing—classic caramelized, nothing herb-forward. It’s not a burger that redefines the genre, but it knows who it is: rich, meaty, and comforting. Burger Verdict: 8.4/10 ⸻ The Fries: Original Twisted Cheese Fries Now here’s where expectations and execution parted ways. I was anticipating loaded fries: green onions, jalapeños, cheese-drenched glory. What landed on my tray was lukewarm, sparsely dressed, and bland. The texture leaned soggy. The flavor leaned forgettable. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t “twisted” either. It felt like they mailed it in on the side dish. Missed opportunity. Fries Verdict: 6/10 ⸻ The Drink: Watermelon Iced Tea Unexpected highlight. Slightly sweet, very refreshing, and honestly a nice counterpoint to the richness of the burger. Their fountain drink game is strong, with some creative options that elevate the experience. A small win, but a bright one. Drink Verdict: 9/10 ⸻ The Vibe: It’s got that warehouse-industrial-meets-diner-chaos energy. Open kitchen, neon signs, sticker walls, and cheeky identity cards (shoutout to Jaime Sommers on my table tag). There’s a vibe—slightly divey, slightly kitschy—but it works if you’re in the mood for something offbeat. Lighting’s a little dark, and service was fine, not memorable. They brought the food to me instead of calling my name—unexpected but appreciated. I didn’t see the pickle bar (legend has it they used to have one), and the atmosphere could use a touch more warmth. But it had character. Atmosphere & Service: 7.5/10 ⸻ Overall Impression: Twisted Root feels like a place where the idea of the meal is a little better than the execution. They flirt with greatness, but don’t quite seal the deal. For a one-time visit, it scratched the itch—but didn’t leave me craving a sequel. ⸻ Final Rating: 4 Stars Wagyu & brioche did the heavy lifting. The tea kept it smooth. The fries missed their moment. And the vibe? Cool enough to remember, not quite enough to chase again.
I ordered the double meat cheeseburger from Twisted Burger, and overall it was a good experience. The burger had a nice flavor, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The cheese was melted perfectly, and the bun was soft with a slight toast, which added a nice texture. However, the patties were a bit dry, which took away from what could have been an amazing burger. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was appealing. The service was friendly and fast, and the restaurant itself had a clean, casual atmosphere. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a good burger—just wish the meat had been a little juicier.
Burger was pretty good. I got the elk burger and some fries . Both were really good . I’ve always past this building a lot , but I finally got to visit . The atmosphere was pretty good , kinda really dim inside but your eyes will adjust ,lol. I will definitely come back to try more from the menu
The food was actually better than we expected and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was a bit strange and lacked continuity. The only negative was the limited low height tables. Almost all seats are high-tops but we were lucky enough to get the last low-top table. The black is worth a try!

Love this place! Great food, and the staff are friendly and down-to-earth. They don't seem like they're putting on a customer service act, just very nice people. The menu is also very customizabl…
Neat atmosphere with large tv projection on walls. Good for sports. Pick your food at counter then retrieve it when done. No wait staff. Burgers and chicken sandwichs are great. We had mushroom…
The first time here went because I looked it up. Restaurants close to me, and this one popped up. Decided to give it a shot! It was Meh...for the prices you expect more and for the presintation wasn't that great. Ordered fried green beans/fried carrots, and I'm like ok where are the carrots? If you see the dish, your luck if you see 4 strips, the rest greenbeans. burger, I expected more since it said BIG TEX well nothing big abt it the ingredients was very shysty no Avocado or guacamole. It was not fully cooked, so it was meh. For the price, it is $11.50. Trust me, it's not worth it at all just for a burger and no sides. Wow. Trust me, it's not worth it. The All American was just boring, but I wasn't a fan. Interesting the pickle barrels they had was ok. Now the soft drinks they should have traditional Pop Soda coca cola, dr. Pepper, etc. Because these soft drinks they carry are just boring and not tasty. You all need to clean the coke machines where the dispenser is you must clean and take gunk out. Maybe your sodas may taste a bit better, but you should have traditional ones. So will I come back No, yall gotta fix either the crazy high prices or put what it's to be and make it taste good and like when it says Avocado Put SOME sheesh not a wipe off the knife. And your onion rings make sure its Onion and not just fried skin.
I went to Twisted Root Burger today and got the Tootsie Hot chicken and onion strings. The place had an odd vibe and I felt unsafe at times. Furthermore the hospital a few steps away confirmed my suspicions. The restaurant had a large selection of pickles which although was a good idea was poorly executed. I didn’t enjoy any of the flavors and the ranch pickle should be renamed to salt flavor. The atomic pickle was absolutely horrid. If I see that pickle again I will run, scream, and injure myself. Lastly the dill pickle container had an unscrewed lid jar and fell into the disgusting pickle juice. I would recommend not touching any of those pickles. For my main order the chicken sandwich was solid and a was a good portion size. The onion strings were horrible. They had no flavor and I felt like if i just threw oil on raw onions I would’ve gotten the same thing. Overall not bad but a bit pricey for the quality of food.
The burgers were delicious and it's located in a great spot off the freeway. No burger pics because I devoured it😁 This is a large facility with plenty of seating. Large screens on the walls. The staff was not very welcoming and they need to work on their housekeeping. Their soda machine was a mess and only 1 stall in the women's bathroom was working. I really feel they could do better.
The burgers were good but I got an American burger and it was definitely on the saltier side. You also have to buy the fries and drinks separately and for 3 people it was around 70$. It was all good food and they have 5 different types of pickles and they’re amazing! The staff barely talked to us but a man gave me menus when I first came in and I didn’t have to ask so that’s was really nice. It’s a nice place but it’s definitely expensive.
I should have recognized this as your average college burger bar. I was lured in by the diverse choices that would seemingly make anyone happy. The burgers were cold and uninspired. Fries, if fresh would have been nice since there were fresh cut in house. The problem is the production system. The buns are lined up loaded with a party that was cooked however long ago and then assembled away from the heat. The patty did seem to be hand made in house out of fresh ground. That’s the sole high point. Plenty of sauces on the table allowed you to bury your sorrows and cold sandwich. The wide choice of pickles was appreciated and enjoyable. The good news is the bar is big and can seat and push out low standard food fast.
Starting with the facility, I immediately noticed when I walked in that the floors were dirty. Not that I could see the dirt because the floor is cement but my shoes were sticking to the floor. This is the first standalone TR I've seen; most are in store fronts. For service, the staff was friendly and approachable. It did take a long while to get our food for an establishment that takes your order before you are seated. The food: we ordered a burger with fries. The burger was good and juicy. From someone that doesn't need to have real hot food, the fries were lukewarm and they were small pieces as if they were down to the bottom of the bag. The bread and butter pickles from the pickle bar were delicious! For location, they are conveniently right off Interatate I-35 close to the major attractions. So it's easy off, easy on. All in all, I would try this location again.
I was in the mood for a burger so I looked at burger places around, this place has caught my attention several times but never tried it so i decided to order food to pickup. The food is mid, kind of bland & my fried pickles had like no batter on them, I basically got hot, soggy pickles. Burger was okay, had no flavor. I most likely will never spend my money on this place again.
They have an interesting pickle bar to try different flavors of pickles. The burgers weren't anything spectacular though to write home about. I had the patty melt which is listed as having two "smashed" patties. However, they were just normal formed patties that seemed previously frozen and then cooked. To me "smashed" means flattened crispy edges, not a normal patty.
Not really impressed \nSupposedly all burgers are cooked to medium well unless requested otherwise. Both of ours were "maybe" medium. Told them and got a 'Sorry'. Won't go back.\nAlso, it was cold …
We stopped here on Sunday afternoon for lunch while on our way to Galveston. We both got hamburgers and split an order of fries. The good was fresh and tasty and o would say the service was so so. …

I had the vegan burger. It was cold and fell apart. French fries were cold, stringy and blackened. $20 wasted. The place is super loud. Tables weren’t cleared. I wouldn’t returning
Uber Eats delivery for a late lunch. Very average, nothing special, other than an attempt at humor and oddity in regard to menu item names. Cheeseburger was fine, just a cheeseburger with an okay b…
Nothing out of the ordinary. Condiments were slim. We were not told about the variety of pickles in buckets against the wall. Saw them as we refilled our drinks.
We, along with many other patrons, waited over an hour for burgers at an off-peak time. In addition to a very long wait, drinks were out and I was told that the staff was too busy to change out anything that was out. The kitchen seemed extremely understaffed to handle multiple orders, and the ordering process is extremely slow which didn’t help matters. It’s time to update the ordering process to digital and management needs to staff the restaurant better.
I really wanted to like this place, but the food was not good. My burger was tasteless and bread got soggy. My wifes chicken tenders were bland. Had to dip them in ranch to get any flavor. Also her portions were kind of small (see photo) I did like the location. I think at night it my be a great place for drinks and hang out. Liked the way they call out a movie star name for your order ( I've seen this in other location in Mexico) Over all its an ok place. Which the food was better though.
I was not impressed. I have been impressed with the twisted root in Arlington TX. There is an industrial look they have as style but the place feels dirty, unkept. The bathroom was not clean. My wife hated the women’s restroom and said it stank. My burger was too salty. The drinks are below average. After spending close to $80 for three people I feel I should have gone somewhere else.
Severely disappointed. We got the low rider. The 'taco seasoned' patty was the blandest meat I have ever tasted. The patty was so thin. Veggies had no taste. My fries were cold and that was where I…

We were looking forward to eating here after reading the reviews, boy were we let down. I will say the beer in the trough by were you order were cold, we had 2, that was the highlight of the meal. …
Me and my husband ordered 2 burgers at 7:30 to go we waited 30 minutes and 2 couples behind us got their food out first. The employees tried to argue that they called out our name but then back tracked and said they don’t call out to go orders even though we ordered in the store? 30 minutes for cold food. Do better
Visited this past Monday afternoon and looked forward to eating my James Bahn Mi. I bit in and felt a sharp bit of plastic. Horrified, I pulled it out of my mouth and did not feel comfortable continuing to eat, so I took it to the counter and asked for my money to be returned. The manager said, “Oh, sorry about that” and said he would refund my money- but only refunded the burger and not the fries that I also returned. I’ve checked my account this morning after several days and the amount they charged me has not changed. Pretty disappointing to be charged for something I didn’t and couldn’t eat. I don’t like giving bad reviews, but this was a terrible experience and I won’t return.
It's been a almost a year since our last visit before yesterday and I was so excited, unfortunately not only was the menu different but all the cool soda they had were gone and replaced with name brand ones but somehow kept the bad watermelon sweet tea. My chicken sandwich had to much sauce on it the bottom bun got too soggy and the fried pickles tasted like hamburger chip pickles. We won't be coming back but the staff was very friendly.
Stopped in twisted root Waco on our way to Austin from Dallas as we did a couple times before. Service was awful, waited almost an hour for 4 burgers. Food taste and quality not as we remembered. Fries were so salty we had to scoff down gallons of water. I don't mind a little heat but the burger I ordered was so spicy (no indication on the menu it was going to be) my mouth was on fire .. All in all, not worth the wait, price, or the hype... We will be making a different stop somewhere else next time.
Upon entry we walked into what looked like a rather dark dive bar. Nobody was sitting at bar, so asked if bar was open and told yes. The bar top was disgusting and bar tender seemed a bit annoyed we asked her to wipe it down for us. Clearly she had plenty of time to ensure the whole bar was clean. She only wiped the half closest to us, like you can't take the time to clean the whole thing. The bathrooms to put it bluntly are disgusting. Looked like hadn't been cleaned in days. Now let's get to the food. If your name is "... Burger Co." you better be able to make a good burger. They claim to cook their burgers medium unless you request something different. Mine was closer to well done and very dry. My girlfriend who is vegetarian ordered their in house made tree hugger burger. First words were below average. She ordered the fries with hers, I ordered the side salad. Bar tender had to come back and ask again what we ordered for sides. We told her. My burger comes out with the fries on it instead of hers. The side salad finally comes and it has the inedible center stem in the bowl. Would never eat here again. How it has a greater than 4 rating is beyond me.
We have been customers for at least 5 years however tonight we won't be back. They have changed the menu and not for the better in my opinion. I had the smash pattymelt and for some odd reason they put thyme seasoning on the burger...who puts that seasoning on beef?!? Guess they do and it was awful. They bar tender was awful!! She was more worried about socializing with her co-workers or being on the phone than anything else. The bar looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days, dishes pile up on the bar. My husband ordered another drink she used the same glass that he had already had a drink from but gave a new clean glass to a guy sitting next to us. Also the drink fridge was hardly stocked...gives the impression that they are struggling financially. Sorry but this place has gone down hill. Hope y'all change it around.
Today we visited Twisted Root Burger Company in Waco, and from the moment we walked in, it was disappointing. The restaurant was absolutely disgusting — trash on the floors, dirty tables everywhere, and no visible effort to keep things tidy. To make matters worse, there was only one person taking orders despite a moderate line, and the pace was painfully slow. Instead of moving things along, the cashier found plenty of time to tell customers about her terrible weekend. We’ve eaten here many times before, and while it was never the cleanest spot in town, it has never been this bad. On top of that, there was no buffalo meat available — the main reason we chose to come today. Overall, it’s frustrating to see a place we used to enjoy decline like this. Consistency and cleanliness matter, and unfortunately, both were missing today.
The lady that took our order was nice and friendly. Unfortunately that’s the last nice thing I can say. One burger seemed like the patty was cooked hours ago and the threw it back on the grill. Cheese wasn’t melted. Awful. Dry. Overcooked. Gluten Free bun is a waste of money. Hard. Dry. Abysmal. Fries were not hot. They had been sitting for a while. Rubbery. Warm-ish. Ketchup labels falling off and gross. Chicken sandwich was dry and also near jerky levels. Bun was terrible too. Didn’t eat the bread. Atmosphere- is there no AC? Just industrial fans moving warm air around. Beyond disappointing. We’ve eaten at Twisted Roots in the Dallas area that are amazing. We were shocked by the quality difference. Too many good places close by to stop at this one.
