Recensioni di Sargam Walnut Creek
Sargam is an old favorite, but we got out of the habit during the pandemic. Then a new place moved into town. We're back with Sargam because the prices and selection are better. I wish more people would join us here. It's delicious.
Always looking for my favorite Indian restaurants. This one is now at the top of my list. Their dishes are unique and so full of flavor. The lamb byriani is phenomenal. Ill be coming here for years to come!
Came in on a Saturday morning for lunch. We were a little early and it took them 10 minutes to get all the food out for buffet but well worth the wait. Food was excellent! Definitely recommend. Chicken tandoori was delicious. And don’t even get me started on the saag or carrot pudding.
I've been going to this place since they opened their doors. Haven't been in quite a while. Have ordered dinner to go 3X in about 6 weeks. Every time, the food was delicious, the portion size good, the price reasonable, the quality good. Friendly on the phone. One missedvorderblast time was made up for without argument. Will keep coming back. Hopefully, nothing changes.
Exceptional cooking, tremendous and unparalleled variety of dishes for buffet
The food was amazing and the perfect amount of heat.
Fairly simple restaurant, but quite excellent Indian cuisine. I usually take my out-of-town visitors who want Indian food here. It’s a quiet spot of an evening, with great food. Gets busy for the lunch time buffet, though.
Oh my gosh I've tried a lot of places in the Bay area for Indian food and I always make it a point to stop here I love this food The spices are very flavorful so many dishes are fantastic here My favorite is the tikka masala chicken it's so vibrant I love it. Great customer service. The owner see ms like a good guy and puts his heart in his work. His food is made with love this chef has a passion for cooking Indian. Even during the Corona virus times he packs the to-go order so nothing spills in your car this guy goes the extra mile. Thank you Sargam Indian cuisine... I wish I had more stars to even give you. Thanks
These guys were kind enough to do a last minute take-out order I placed and wow! Best Indian food I’ve ever had. Great customer service and looking forward to dining in rather than takeout as their layout is very homely and of traditional Indian culture. Consider me a regular moving forward. Thank you so much!
I went to Sargam for lunch with a group. I had the chicken curry while everyone else had the buffet. Everyone in the group was pleased with their meals and those who ordered the buffet had a second helping. The food tasted fresh and the garlic naan was the best naan I have ever tasted. Even my lemonade was perfectly sweetened. Those who had Chai tea really enjoyed it. The service was polite and responsive. I will definitely visit and/or order from Sargam Indian Cuisine again.
We come here every now and then, it's my favorite Indian. However, whoever was cooking in the evening on 10/31 made the food taste exceptional! It was way better than usual! Seriously delicious and amazing garlic Naan. My favorite chicken Tikka masala, saag paneer wonderful, and the lamb kabat curry fantastic.
Large portion sizes and very tasty vegetable biryani. My take-out order was ready to go on time. I would definitely recommend visiting here if you're in Walnut Creek!
My family has been coming here for years. Order over the phone not uber eats, it costs way more and they give you better quantities when you order direct.
Have ordered few times for pickup or delivery. Very nice service and good food.
We’ve been coming to Sargam for years, and it’s always wonderful! The lunch buffet during the week is especially a good option.
Excellent Indian food at a reasonable price. Nice lunch buffet. Very good vegetarian options.
Goat was soooo tender, channa was soo good the tomato bits were 💦, tandoori had PERFECT grill flavors, watermelon was CRAZY sweet & allllll the sauces was so authentic it felt like I took a flight 🙏🏽🙌🤤
Lunch buffet is fantastic. Great price and selection. I tried everything and all are delicious. The complimentary chai is a great bonus. Will definitely come back and recommend the place to friends and family too! Also ordered takeout a few times too. The popular dish like butter chicken, tikki masala, saag paneer are all well made!
This place is the Jewel of Walnut Creek. Food is always fresh, full of flavor and delicious. The mixed grill is our favorite. Plus the staff is always super nice and remembers you
Great choice if you are looking for a casual Indian restaurant with tasty food, reasonable prices, and generous portion sizes. Mostly northern Indian dishes with both meat and vegetarian options. Free refills for Chai. Free parking. Fast and friendly service.
Had a credit from Uber Eats I had to use by tomorrow, so I ordered Indian from Sargam. Tandoori Lamb, Chicken Tikka Massala, Garlic Naan, rice and raita. Everything came packed really well, and sealed against spillage. The Tikka had just enough spice for me, a little heat, but more flavor than hot, the lamb was tender and delicious and you can never go wrong with Naan.
Great place. Great food. Nice people. Very inviting and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone wanting great Indian cuisine.

Amazing lunch buffet. Many veg and non-veg dishes. Appetizers and deserts are nice as well. Fresh made naan. They do have kingfisher. Ample parking. Absolutely love coming here for buffet on weekends. Brought my friends and family here and they loved the spread.
First time customer, ordered take out. Staff was professional and efficient. Food is excellent. Won’t be my last time.
The cuisine is excellent. Their basmati rice is heavenly. The chicken tikka kabobs are so tender and delicious.
This is my favorite place in Walnut Creek. I order to go or dining and both ways are great service. I've tried the buffet option and dinner and the food is always sooo delicious. I like to try many different plates and haven't been let down. I love this place and the guys that run it are always respectful.

Nice place to eat, at reasonable prices. My wife and I always smell the amazing aroma when walking on Ironhorse trail. Food was very flavorful, and portions were appropriate. Wine was already open when brought out to the table, which seemed abnormal, as normally restaurants will open at the table. Overall, very nice meal.
Got dinner for takeout from here for the first time. Used their website to order which was easy and my order was ready on time. I ordered chicken samosas, chicken tikka curry, and different naan breads and everything was quite good and enough to feed two. The naan was fluffy & tasted good, and the curry was excellent. The samosas were also good and very flaky, the sauces that came with our order were also very good. Overall a good place and I look forward to getting takeout from here again.
Tasty food, generous portions for the price. Super easy online ordering for pick up. Not super mind blowing taste, but definitely yummy. The guy working last night was a bit frosty and there was NO parking in the parking lot. I have ordered from there a few times now and the food and service have not changed. At least the food is really good.
Beautiful quaint and humble Indian restaurant in the middle of Walnut Creek with a delicious, well stocked colorful buffet. The long grain rice was perfectly cooked. Plenty of vegetarian options with various chickpeas, lentils and curry options. Vegtable samosas nicely baked filling. Also chicken tandori and a tandori fried fish, Delicious! Everything tasted fresh, loads of flavor, with lots of fresh cut vegetables in the mini salad bar and in the meat dishes. This day they had a delicious sweet carrot dish for a dessert, plus water melon and orange slices. They also bring a Naan basket, unfortunately my Naan was burnt and tasted quite burnt rather then nutty and toasted, I generally love Naan so hopefully it was just an overcooked batch this day. Ambiance was lacking, no music or even a television to bring the atmosphere up to a more warming hospitable place. The quite of a place hearing people eating was a bit uncomfortable. Flowers, music, lighting, overall ambiance is missing, especially for a Walnut Creek location. They are well stocked wine, which would indicate a possible location along Iron Horse trail to enjoy wine and some delicious food. Maybe it's different in the evening. Overall a great a friendly lunch buffet for twenty dollars. Absolutely recommend for your Indian food fix!
The variety of dishes served at the lunch buffet was good. Naan was fresh. I thought the curries were a bit too salty, though.

Food was fine, but in general for a buffet, naan and a last is included. I was charged $5 each. I probably should've asked, and they should've spoken to me as well. Not too happy about this
Nondescript place. Feels old and tired. Decent food but no vegetarian labeling on the buffet and there were absolutely no workers to be found to ask. Thus I had to peek in the kitchen to get some help. Service was fair. One person at our table ordered hot water and it took at least 10 minutes to get even though only two other tables were occupied.
They advertise lunch buffet but did not have it. I was looking forward to it being that it would be my first time eating Indian food, I wanted to try different things at one time. The waitress was not friendly and disappeared after serving my food. I asked a couple for a suggestion so I got the curry chicken and the garlic flat bread, it was good! I asked a man who came out the kitchen for rice pudding for dessert, after serving it, I only ate two spoons, it was soupy, I don't know if it was suppose to be. He asked me how was it I told him I didn't like it but he still charged me. I will not be going back. In the pictures, I plated my own food.
Food was quite bland and not very appetizing. The kheer and chai were the only saving grace. Service was fine.

Ordered some noodles. Was nowhere near to the indo Chinese noodles, to the point that everybody in my house couldn't even eat a single spoon. The traditional Indian food was much more acceptable with crispy and tender naans, and tasty currys

The service is not good. Food is okay, but I would recommend getting take-out if you want your Indian fix. Service takes a long time and they don’t seem to care about your experience in the restaurant. We had 6 in our party. Maybe the service is better for a 2-top...? We ordered the dinner feast for 2 (among other things) and were brought the check without all of the items brought to the table included in the feast, nor were we offered the items such as dessert or drinks. We were also charged for the drinks that should have been included. I don’t know if it was a lack of caring, oversight or just a plain mistake, but it was not an experience I would like to repeat.
Food is pretty good for Indian food in the US-a bit expensive. The problem is with take-out orders missing items. Don’t trust that everything you ordered is in the bag and make sure to check that the sauses are included. One time we went there to pick up and our order had been given to someone else. Last night I asked for rice pudding to-go and got home to find raita. Not what I had in mind for dessert.
This place has gone seriously downhill. Staff is completely disinterested in providing any kind of level of service. Wait time for food was very long, and nobody came to check on us or refill our drinks. Any time we wanted anything we had to flag someone down. Despite the restaurant being quiet, dirty tables were not cleared. The check was just dumped on our table without so much as a thank you or a "how was your meal?" Appetizers (mixed pakoras) were soggy and cold. Mains (after an hour or more in the restaurant) were fine, but certainly not good enough for us to ever go back and face that terrible service again.
Ordered take out some vegetarian food. Okra, chili paneer and biryani+ paratha, Roti. The food was tasteless and left me feeling bloated (biryani tasted alright). Too expensive for something that ruins both your taste buds and your stomach.

I wanted to try this place ever since I moved to Danville last year. When I seen they had brought out a lunch menu I thought it was the perfect time to take my wife. Sadly, I was very disappointed, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. Both of my parents are from India and my wife from Arabia, so not new at all to the Indian cuisine. Sadly the food didn’t taste anything like it should of, in fact it didn’t taste of anything at all. For $20 per person I should of known but I usually smell it on my way to the office so thought it has to be good, sadly I was very mistaken. On top of that, they charged me extra that I never knew about. They gave me a receipt of $45, but took $60 from my account. It’s sad cause if one never knew Indian food I’d hope they don’t think this is what we represent. The people who work there I guess are generally good people, it’s a shame about the quality of food and the lady who thought it was okay to overcharge us, mistakes happen granted but come on, I went back to the restaurant later on in the evening and showed them my bank statement and matched it with the receipt, they couldn’t give me an answer lol. Yeah, anyway, not the place for me and wouldn’t recommend it to any of my clients.
This place has gone downhill like a speed skier down the Swiss Alps. I'm not even demanding authentic Indian taste as the locality is mainly non Indian. But I do expect fresh, properly cooked, non stale food. Don't wish to give too many details as it's cumbersome to explain it all. Let's just say this was a much better 3 star place in 2016. Now it's a zero star.
We used to love the food here, it is really tasty. However, this time I had a most horrible, once-in-a-lifetime experience: a cockroach baked into the naan. Please see photo below. I'm still gagging even as I'm posting this. Their chefs are very competent, but the hygiene is absolutely gross - and that's the management's fault. I'm never ordering anything from there again, which is sad because the food tasted so good, despite possible cockroach juice. Who knows what else is ground into the masala.
I recently had a very concerning experience at Sargam Indian Cuisine Restaurant, that I feel compelled to share. We ordered take out from this restaurant on March 11 to be consumed over 2 to 3 meals. We opened the lamb biryani box on March 12th when suddenly in the middle of the meal, My husband accidentally bit on something inedible. Thinking it was a piece of bone in a boneless lamb biryani box, he spit out a PIECE OF BLADE. Needless to say, this was an extremely distressing and potentially dangerous discovery. The blade was sharp enough to cut through thick paper. I immediately contacted the restaurant to inform them of what had happened, and while they offered us a free dinner, the owner denied that the incident had taken place at their restaurant. Instead the owner indirectly tried to pin the whole incident on us. Considering we are moving out of state in 3 days, we are living out of disposable plates and spoons. There is no way for the food to be mishandled on our end. When my husband tried explaining to him that he is not comfortable dining at this restaurant again, the owner hung up while he was still in the middle of the sentence. This lack of accountability and concern for the safety of their customers is completely outrageous. I will be reporting the incident to the local health department and provide them with photos of the blade and the food box. I hope that this will prompt an investigation and ensure that proper food safety measures are put in place at the restaurant. Overall, I would caution others to be wary of dining at Sargam and to thoroughly inspect their food before consuming it. This experience has left us both feeling uneasy and low key traumatized.
