Recensioni di Grace & Abe's Westfield
We can't say enough good about this place! Of course the beer and food was great, but the best thing is the very friendly and quick staff, plus they seated two very hungry bikers only 5 minutes before close and we were very happy.
We had lunch, and it was delicious! Absolutely terrific. We were so thrilled. Artichoke and spinach dip was excellent, too. They pay attention to the details and everything was fresh and flavorful.
Super neat find. Just opened but they got what it takes. The spinach artichoke dip was to die for and I absolutely loved the cocktail made with Welch's grape juice. Sooo delicious and Welch's is right down the street, so that's fun. Friendly staff. Great service. Will definitely go back when in town. Yum!
Everything we had was really good. A little to much salt but still good. I really enjoyed how hot our food was. As soon as the food was done the waitresses were bringing it out. No warming lamp in sight! Our waitress was super nice too!
They let us bring our dog to the table on the patio! We were there when they opened so it wasn't busy, this is cool. Our host brought a water bowl out for us too. Chose the fireman's burger and the hangover burger side salads and side of pub fries. Peach Daqueri was a delight before our meal came out.
My friend and I split an angus burger and a build your own salad with their homemade vinaigrette on the side. Both were fantastic! It took a little bit to get our order but we weren't in a hurry and it was worth the wait. The IPA was really good also.
Absolutley amazing! Needed a place to stop for dinner and we were so glad we found Grace and Abe's. Food was fresh and delicious. Staff was friendly and you didn't have to wait a long time. Kids loved their food too. We are definitely going to come back even with the 2.5 hour drive.
I read reviews online b4 we came to listen to some awesome live music! Keith rocks ! Our server "Patrick", as i read in reviews is amazing . What a great person!
The food was amazing! The spinach dip was the best I have ever had! The manager was so sweet and helpful. She printed out a map for us so we had for our wine tours today! Highly recommend this place!
Nice quiet spot Wings are probably some of the best on the east coast
The food. To die for! Always hot and fresh. The menu is great. The vegetarian sandwich is fantastic. The pizzas are FANTASTIC. . Right downtown in Westfield. Wonderful place .. beer is brewed to perfection! I love the Envy beer. Must do this! Worth the trip!
Our 1st time there and enjoyed the food, beer and atmosphere. Service was good. Pizzas are very creative and good as well as the pub pretzel.
The only wood fired pizza around! Excellent pizza options, great beer brewed both there and a partner brewery
Hunter did an amazing job at serving our table. She was so friendly and attentive, and made us feel so welcome! Food was delicious, as well as the drinks. 10/10 would recommend and ask for Hunter!
We thought we would stop in to try this place out and we had probably the best Pizza we have ever eaten . We tried the Little Sicily one and it was so good. Doesn't have the usual tomato sauce like other Pizza's which was nice and the taste coming from the Wood Fire Stove was amazing! Service was also excellent with the Server explaining everything to us on the menu and serving us with a smile! Wish there were more places like these . We will definitely be back and will recommend to others.
What a wonderful find on our drive through New York. I would definitely recommend a short detour or a special trip to Grace and Abe's. Their own beers are excellent and their cocktails are perfect. The food was such a lovely surprise on our late afternoon stop. The French onion (dip) sandwich was amazing. Not to mention how lovely they were to my pup. Can't wait to return!
This restaurant was amazing! We're driving through and needed a place to stop for lunch. Their menu was fresh and a nice break from other more mainstream restaurants. My three children (7, 9, and 11) all loved their food. I wish I could have ordered everything on the menu! Pizza, Mac and cheese, steak salad, and ox roast sandwich were all excellent!!
Nice relaxing atmosphere. Interesting history. Great wood fired pizzas.
They're about a mile and a half from the highway, but worth the short trip. The burgers are great, I recommend "The Whole Hog". They have a good selection of 11" pizzas and the appetizers look very good but I haven't ordered any yet. They also offer build your own burger and build your own pizza options. The beers are varied, all made by the same brewery, they also have a fine selection of cocktails. Great spot just off the main drag of town, the front of the building is two garage doors that are wide open in nice weather, and a downstairs area with its own bar.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner on the patio. They have great burgers and craft beers. A live band was playing as well. Beware of spicy items even the coleslaw will take your breath away. But we had a great time the staff is friendly and helpful. Check them out if you're in town.
We enjoyed the spinach, artichoke, and bacon dip for an appetizer. Our entrees were the blackened shrimp wrap and the French onion steak sandwich. The mac and cheese side was mild and tasty. The atmosphere was unique and the service was top notch. Good to see places like this in Westfield.
Best hamburger I’ve had, and that’s saying a lot! A perfect ground beef blend of brisket, short rib and Chuck and cooked a medium rare that’s actually medium rare! The pizza is always spectacular and the beers are great! Love this place!
Hunter was our server. What a lovely young person! We ordered the pretzel, a firehouse burger and a pepperoni pizza. All of the food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. The pretzel was served with a delicious cheese sauce. Raspberry tea, Belgian dark ale and lemonade were delish. The restaurant is beautiful, with lots of open space. We did notice that the poor serving staff is running up and down the stairs to get drinks. Maybe installing a dumb waiter and having dedicated staff for each floor would work better. On a final note, we appreciated the handicapped accessibility and enough space at our table to keep my mom's folded walker nearby.
Went for some drinks and an appetizer. The beer was awesome. My wife had a dark and stormy cocktail , so delicious. I ordered the loaded pub fries, it was so good, can't wait to have them again. Our waitress (wish we could remember her name for a shout out), was so friendly and helpful. Next time we need to try the wood fires pizza.
Great place! We had the wood fired pizzas which were amazing and a lot to choose from. Waitress and staff very friendly and efficient, no mishaps. Drinks are from 7 sins brewery and Quincy wine cellars, very good! Always updating their beer selection too. My fiance and are I are actually thinking of having our rehearsal dinner here next year and I think it would be great place for that!
Coming back from Buffalo we stopped for lunch. The items on the menu were enticing, but since they had wood fired pizza we couldn't resist. The smoked chicken bacon ranch pizza was delicious. We will be back!
Great place. Nice food menu, our group had some gluten intolerant and other dietary restrictions, no issues with ordering. The beer selection was fantastic, not the same old biting American beers and all craft selections an IPA. Many house brewed beers. They has a house brewed Kolsch which was very good. Having been in Cologn earlier this year I had a chance to try many different breweries Kolsch.
We stopped in during a snowy commute between Rochester and Cleveland. The waitress was extremely kind and we had a wonderful meal. The pizza was wonderful! The dough was perfect and the wood fired oven was really nice. The burger was delicious and a very generous portion. We will definitely stop again sometime on our way to and from Ohio :)
Ignore the bad reviews - complete anomalies, if true....but they typically read like an entitled person wrote them.... First off, it is a craft wood-fired pizza joint - but also craft beer, and other delicious handhelds. All this food is fresh and made to order. It is not a "quickie stop" or fast food. This is a place to go and EXPERIENCE. Sit down, have a conversation, order a cocktail you've never had before, and enjoy the TIME with your friends and family. We're treated kindly every time we go, and also are able to comprehend issues like short staff, or dinner rush/blitz. Several other reviews have mentioned the wait, but worth it, and I couldn't agree more. My wife usually gets a build your own pizza and I get a handheld. Last time was the "Big Pig" Pork BBQ sandwich, and it was packed with meat/slaw/sauce and was elevated way beyond your typical sloppy pork BBQ on a bun. You also get a side with this one and it's a deal with the mac & cheese. They have an upstairs and downstairs, also an outside small patio that you can bring pets. Sometimes there's some live music. The downstairs bar is fun if you're looking for just drinks.
Went to Grace and Abe's kn a recommendation by the owner of the bed and breakfast we stayed at...we were not disappointed. Very cool atmosphere. Food was delicious. We ordered the spinach bacon artichoke dip...yummy. my husband ordered a margarita pizza...yummy. I ordered the classic Reuben with loaded smashed potato side...all were yummy. Took home leftovers. I would highly recommend. Pear infused mule was very tasty as well.
Place is a hidden gem. The Pub pretzels and the “89’” in house beer were a great way to start off the night. The brick fire pizza was amazing. Great service, great prices, unique environment. Would love to come back again.
Absolutely the BEST PIZZA!!! Great options. LOVE the pub fries--perfectly seasoned and crunchy outside. Love this place.
The loaded pub fries are excellent. The atmosphere is chilly but charming. Unless you're a BIG fan of blue cheese, avoid the buffalo chicken pizza. (Seriously, if you try that first you may never want to try anything else from there ever again, but if you avoid the "Buffalo" pizza everything else was ok).
Patrick was so sweet and a great server! They were out of some stuff.. namely beers and cheese sauce but he was very accommodating and we ordered some great pizza; the Westfield Farmers Market, the Sicily and the Mediterranean(my favorite!). We were too hungry to take pictures but we would definitely come back if visiting the area again in the future. Thanks Patrick!
Chicken bacon ranch pizza was bomb, the wings were out of this world good!! Looked dry, but were so crispy and juicy 😋
Cool place! We came in on a late summer Sunday afternoon. Ordered their Honest Abe pizza and a build your own with garlic herb white sauce, pulled pork, mushrooms, red onion and artichoke. Fresh dough, thin crust, and wood fired. Peach white wine sangria. Mmmm! Great atmosphere and with the decent weather, the big front garage doors were wide open. Will definitely be back.
Last minute decision to stop for a bite to eat. Staff were very friendly and service was great. We ordered a pizza and a burger. Food was delicious and wait time was good. We sat by the open window area and enjoyed watching traffic go by and the cool breeze!
Patrick served us and was so attentive, an excellent Server!! The food was excellent, we had jalapeño peach chicken wings and chicken Nachos ( huge order, enough for 3 or 4) I had the pina colada sangria and my Husband had an awesome craft beer. We will definitely be going back while here in Westfield NY!! Thanks Patrick, for the great service!!
Very nice and open atmosphere. My wife and I didn't care for the pizza. It seemed a little small considering the price.
Steak sub although tasty was a tad bit too salty, I salt my food but this was overly salted. Loaded tacos Needed more sauce somewhat dry I added smoked chicken that was also a tad salty The the waiter was very helpful I mentioned the sauce and they got me more right away. I didn't mention the saltiness of the meat we'll give it another try maybe it was just a fluke accident.
Beers were light and easy to drink. Food was good but a touch salty. The layout and physical design is a bit confused. It has potential but still feels like it is lacking. I wouldn't call the place comfortable. Willing to try again after things settle in.
Nice beer section and wood fired pizzas are very good. In general it is pub food. Not fancy at alll. The service always seems very good and in general this is a decent restaurant to visit. Good pub food and beer.
Really good pizza. Nice atmosphere, good entertainment. Prices OK depending on what you order. Goodcraft beer. Service help is a problem but that is a challenge for every restaurant in Westfield.
The burger was amazing. The hard cider we got tasted like an apple cinnamon roll... soooo good. Didn't really like the Mac n cheese. Cheese sauce was too runny for my likes.
New place in town. Good food, energetic service. Nicely renovated space. Beer brewed on site. Impressive wood fired pizza oven. What staff lack in training and practice they make up for in hustle and enthusiasm (and a smile). We’ll be back!
Posted at their entrance was a note advising all that they are understaffed and please be patient. We were greeted by Patrick who also seated and waited on us. He couldn't have been more pleasant. The place wasn't very busy when we arrived but by the end of our stay every table was sat. The beers are good. Don't like craft beer? You'll like what's here. These beers will appeal to almost all but the most adventurous craft beer lover. All are very good. Food was pretty fantastic. Pretzel appetizer was huge! The house made honey mustard and beer cheese dips were excellent! The pizzas are personal size, probably 9". Yeah, they're pretty spectacular and offer non-traditional topping to build your own. The pulled pork sandwich was massive and was perfectly done and the BBQ sauce offered was a perfect compliment. We didnt wait too long at all for anything. They're understaffed and Patrick and one other server held down these tables just fine. The food that was served was perfect. The other diners also appeared to be understanding and relatively happy as well. The atmosphere of the place was pretty cool too, with the front of the place wide open to the street. Yes, when in Westfield again, I'd definitely come back.
Three of us were visiting from PA for the day. We went to a place that was reservations only or a corner table. The second place was an environment I did not care for, and this was the third choice. We were quickly convinced we were going to enjoy this place! My two friends enjoyed the wine! The food was excellent, and the service personal and attentive. We enjoyed our table being near the front, with an open front ! We would go there again with no question
Very good place, makes some nice drinks! Food was a little meh but not bad.
Food was good, but it took forever! Granted, it was a Friday night, but it wasn't that busy. The Reuben was delicious, they were out of fries, we ended up w side salads. Others in my party said the NY deli sandwich was good, also the Italian sandwich. Craft beer hit the spot, had the Pride. The tramonette wine, two thumbs up. The hostess was nice, noticed how long we waited and gave us all a drink, on the house. 😊. I would definitely go there again!
There doesn't seem to be a lot of options for places to eat around Lake Chautauqua area which I find odd because it's a very pretty area. This place was recommended by our hotel. They don't have a huge menu basically just wood fire pizza, burgers, sandwiches and such. The inside was nice although we did take out. Wait staff was pleasant no complaints whatsoever there. My daughter had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries. Burger was juicy, but nothing overly special. Fries were nicely seasoned. We also got the cheesy garlic sticks. My daughter thought they were very good and the marinara was great. I just thought they were "ok". I got the "make it a Philly" with brisket and a side of Mac n cheese. They boast having a famous cheese sauce, but honestly I found it lacking in flavor. The brisket was good though and overall the sandwich was decent. Mac n cheese was very bland to me I had to salt it to get it to have a little flavor. Overall the food was good just not "great" in my opinion. The price was a bit ridiculous $56.55 for a sandwich, burger and some bread with cheese. Would I go here again? Maybe, but probably just because I'm curious how their pizza is. Side note there is zero parking (unless we missed where it was hiding) which is possible since we're from out of town lol
Cozy place with a wood fired pizza oven, great beers, nice cocktail list, and some good food! My group had burgers and fries each of them to be cooked perfectly and delicious. Prices are good and the service was friendly and attentive. The only drawback for the evening was a fair amount of fruit flies... Probably a byproduct of their onsite beer production. We'd definitely return here!
Ordered an appetizer and they never brought it. Had to have it taken off the bill. Our server ignored us a good part of the time and we had to go find someone else to get the bill. Pizza was ok, not bad but not incredible.
Pretzel app was underwhelming as it was burnt and the cheese was lacking flavor and very runny. My order was cold when it came out but my gf Mediterranean wrap was delicious and warm. Sweet tea was terrible. Service was good and environment was nice.
Brand New establishment going thru some adjustments ... patience is key, pizza is good. Location looks like a winner ... it was strange, they didn't seat the front seats by the windows ... we even asked but they said tables weren't cleaned yet and one had a reservation. Seems like those are the tables you want full ALL the time. They'll get it going with good location and good food.
Our food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. When we arrived there were five or six tables with a few people at each table. After five minutes I asked a passing server if we could get a waiter and I got some real attitude from her. She asked me if I couldn’t see that they were busy???? I felt totally admonished by her. All I expect is a glance or a “be there in a minute” from my server. This young woman ruined my time spent there with her snarky attitude. What a shame. I saw her when we were leaving and told her that she was out of line and she lied that I was pounding on the table and making demands!! Can’t believe we left her a decent tip but that is our custom hahaha!!
Not a fan of the recent changes G&A’s made to their menu. They used to have the best burgers around (including BYO), but have now completely removed them from the menu…a brew pub that doesn’t serve burgers?? It feels silly to say that I was heartbroken about a burger, but yet I was/am. The new menu is also a put-off in regards to the many notices that there are “No Substitutions” and an additional 5% charge for credit card payments. Please go back to the good old G&A…the old G&A was a 5-star review.
Have eaten in at this location and walked away happy....sometimes portions for SOME items were small for the price. Tonight I ordered pizza with mushrooms on half.....pretty scant on the mushrooms. Then I ordered a Pittsburgh salad and paid extra for brisket. There wasn't any on it. I ordered the fries on the sise so when I saw two containers, I knew they had gotten the fries on the side correct. Never thought of checking if the meat was on the salad.......just bacon bits....If I had eaten; in, I surely would have taken care of it then. To be 35 minutes the pub and not having a full order when you arrive home, does not sit well with me.
This was our first time here, place wasn't busy at all, maybe 3 other tables were full. Two of us went for dinner. Doors were open to the outside which was very nice. We were seated right away, waitress took our drink orders but came back to take our food order and didn't bring the unsweetened iced teas we ordered. After a few more minutes we did get our drinks. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. My Cobb salad was delicious, order two dressings if you don't like dry salad. The wood fried wings were different but also good. Waitress didn't come by to check on us, we had to stop her and ask for a refill. Which I think she brought back sweet tea when I reminded her it was unsweetened tea. We also had to go up to the counter and get another blue cheese ourselves. Maybe she was very new to waiting tables? Other than that, we would definitely dine again. 3.5 stars.
Visited for the first time a few days ago. Accidentally came across this place. I had the Rueben(House cured Pastrami, smoked and thin sliced piled high on grilled marble rye with melted Swiss cheese and sauerkraut.) With fries. Definitely needs to come with more thousand Island dressing. They give you a little container for it and ketchup is the same. You must also ask for silverware. Meat was on the dry side. Hubby liked the Pizza. A Meat Your Maker(loaded with five different house smoked meats.) Didn't appreciate the fact that when I ordered the Ruben our waitress asked what side I wanted and she gave me options. I said fries and then was charged $2 extra. Umm ok. Be aware that if you pay with card there will be a 5% charge. It's on the menu. Overall the place was good. Extra charges aren't exactly great, but the food was good and the drinks were decent. Gin and tonic and a beer. Quiet place. No background music, just the street infront of you. Apparently has live music at times. Waitress was great except not telling us about the upcharge on sides. Read the menu carefully.
$34 and out of fries. It was a 45 minute wait on Sunday night for takeout. Staff seemed a little overloaded. Burger and Mac and cheese were tasty. Salad was a bit small for $16 but maybe that was since the fry addition was missing (Pittsburgh salad). Also salad was missing the hard boiled egg. I’m sure it’s very tough with everything going on. My own business is struggling. Please continue to support local business.
It wasn't bad. I would say it isn't so great for a couple with a young family . are six year old grand son wanted chocolate milk. when the had neither this or white milk he asked for juice of any sort and there was also no juice available. Then we wanted a pizza with half some sort of specialty pizza they have on there menu and half cheese and pepperoni( for the six year old) and the server informed me they were unable to do so. With all this said in the end it all worked out, the service was fine and in there defense I belive the place is a micro brewery with a flat bread pizza oven. They are probly great at what they do we just happen to live 20 min away and were in town looking for a place to eat with are grand son . I would have give it 4 stars except I didn't really care for the pizza either. I may try something different next time I am in town , it was kind of atmosphere with the two over head doors being open.
Second visit, just as bad as the first. Achingly slow service both times. We waited for over an hour to be served and the people next to us (who arrived before us) waited even longer. The staff had excuses but the place wasn't even full. It's no surprise that my young son did not appreciate the arty, misshapen pizza, and because it took so long, his stomach became upset and he ended up eating nothing. Obnoxiously loud sports fans screaming at random intervals didn't help. $71 for a terrible experience. At the end of it all, the receipt had the gall to suggest a tip rate, the lowest of which was 18%! Obnoxious. Never again.
Hamburger overcooked. 45 minutes to get a glass of beer. Under staffed. Never put silverware on table. Not clean. Where was the manager? July 28th
Had reservations for 7pm on a Saturday. We got sat at 7. We didn't receive a hello or anything from the wait staff till 7:25. When we did we placed our order immediately of drinks and food. I got a water and my kids got soft drinks and tea we received those at 7:40. My wife received her margarita from the bar before we got our drinks. If the problem is staffing maybe it's better to shut down portions of the restaurant so people can have a better experience. I have been her before and the food is awesome. Our food was good but just like other people have stated my salad and food came at the same time. My wife asked for a water after her margarita and never received it. I never got silverware until I asked for it. Just would expect better service for $116 meal.
This place was recommended to us while on vacation. After dinner we went home and all of us became sick within hours. Will not be going back
Food was delicious, but the service was absolutely terrible. The kitchen staff couldn't fill orders in a timely manner. It seems I could have fired up a charcoal grill and cooked my own burgers quicker than the food received. The wait staff delivered the salad with the entre, an hour after ordering. I guess the chef had to go visit the garden and pick the greens. Bottom line, food very good, service was absolutely horrendous. Don't go unless you plan on spending a couple hours there.
Not impressed. The server we had was not attentive, and did not check back with our table regularly. The "pretzels " were just baguettes with cheese dip. We had some members of our party get menu items that were not served as the menu described, and then had to wait quite some time while it was fixed. If you have nowhere to be and lots of time to kill, then take a chance. But they weren't even busy and the service was seriously lacking. Probably won't bother stopping back again. Food wasn't bad, but the service was seriously lacking for the price.
Service was really slow and waitresses kept attending to new tables being seated, but not to us. From drinks, which took forever, to ordering which was impossible--we couldn't get anyone's attention-- \and various waitresses kept disappearing, to the food itself--a pizza and the pretzels & cheese dip we'd ordered was completely lost and we left without it. The wait staff were all very pleasant, but really it seemed like everyone was on meds.
The location is wonderful, and I love that you can see right into the kitchen. The pizza oven makes for a great view, and I liked what I heard of the live band. The cocktail I ordered was so good, and my boyfriend liked the drink he got. We were sat quickly, our drink and food orders were taken promptly, and within five minutes we had our drinks. Then our waitress disappeared, and not one server came our way until the couple sitting next to us flagged one down after they realized we'd been completely ignored for an hour. We never got our food. As someone who works in a restaurant, it was clear to me that there is a great lack of communication between front of the house and the kitchen. People who came after us received their food. The couple that spoke up for us arrived about the same time as us and got their order within a respectful amount of time. Though they, too, never had another server come check on them, and the husband had to go downstairs to the bar to get them drinks. The person working the pizza station was doing an amazing job, and pizzas were getting out at a rapid pace. The other side of the kitchen wasn't slow, but they had absolutely no hustle. I do understand that they were understaffed, and it was busy, but an hour is a shameful amount of time to go without us being acknowledged. Had they told us there would be a wait, it wouldn't have been a problem. But there was nothing. The server that finally came our way was rude when we voiced our complaints, and completely soured what little there was to enjoy about the visit. I will never come here again, and I really hope they train their staff better. This is not the type of experience I would find acceptable where I work.
Good pizza, good mac&cheese, food prepared as expected. Bad service (slow to get water and had to ask multiple times, server forgot items, etc). At a brewery, customers many times ask to taste the beer before ordering. I asked to taste two beers, but two full beers were brought out instead of taste-side, and I said that I only wanted to taste them, and was told that they couldn’t be taken back, and to try each and that I would only be charged for one. She understood the issue, eg the other person entered two glasses of beer instead of two samples. The bill came, and I was charged for both, and the server completely refused to adjust the bill, even after us explaining what the beer deliverer told us. Food = good+, service = worst I’ve experienced in months.
We arrived and were seated promptly. Most of the beer menu was out of stock so we ordered from the few they still had. Took 15 minutes. Apparently the keg system was “acting up”. Finally the drinks came and we ordered. An hour later and after multiple apologies (new cook who was on her first day alone) poor food finally arrived. The pizzas were good but definitely not worth the wait. The worst thing was after such a poor service experience there was no acknowledgment beyond the apologies, no discount, no comp of a beer or even the offer of dessert. Just full price. Our friends had been there several times and recommended it. They won’t be back. Needless to say we won’t either. In a small town you would think maintaining repeat customers would be a matter of survival. We will see if this place is around next summer…
After we finished our meal we wanted to have another drink and enjoy the live music. Unfortunately our server played the "walk by our table 10 times and refuse to make eye contact" game. After 45 minutes we had to ask the hostess for our bill so we could leave.
Toasted burger buns? More like charcoal briquetes. Talked to server. She reluctantly discounted the burger by 10%. Best ask for “non crispy” bun when you order. See picture…
I love the food here, but the service is terrible. We ordered food at 4:40pm, we were told an hour wait for takeout. Waited our hour for the food and got home to realize I didnt have full order. Waited ANOTHER HOUR for my order of pub fries.... it was not the waitress fault as she was the only person working tables and takeout and only two cooks. Like I said we LOVE the food but this is the second time service has taken over 2hrs for burgers and pizza... Ps. I hate leaving bad reviews for anything but owners need to address this issue as I watched tables leave tonight upset over service.
If I could rate a ZERO I would!! My boyfriend and I went for dinner and we've been here before usually delicious. I ordered a dirty martini and he had a beer. I had the Mediterranean pizza and he had the philly brisket pizza. My drink was disgusting!! 1 sip I knew the olives were way past their expiration which makes it taste gross! Told the server I'd stick with water. She left the drink on our table the entire visit. My BF's beer was flat. Both pizzas were horrible!!! Mine was raw and super oily all under it, close to saturated. His pizza had black char on the underneath and a big black chunk of something! Server did not care, did not apologize or even ask if they could remake it..BTW it states on their menu No Refunds but they will remake it Hostess was rude as well, when I asked to have the drink I didn't drink taken off the bill she rolled her eyes and gave me the RBF face and said we're taking it off now and whipped her head back around. Just plain bad service!!! The food sucked too. Never again.
Ordered the teak sandwich had no peppers no onion no cheese the Ruben which like the steak had no flavor at all and the Mac and cheese was tasteless our bill was 76 dollars approximately and was terrible I tried calling them back they were closed tried calling the next day no answer so this is for the review no flavor at all waste of money
The pretzel is good, the beer is also but instead of saying they were out of lettuce they served me the most black, soggy lettuce I've ever seen. Also, the tomato had a lovely little blonde hair attached to it...yummy! Our waiter showed up to clear our plates when we got up to leave. We got a three dollar charge for using a credit card. My husband and I could not be more disappointed.
One star is an exaggeration. Service is Ok but the kitchen takes forever to prepare a meal. Took an hour to get my sandwich that came raw. After returning it to the kitchen to put it back on the fire, it took them another hour to a point where I had to leave before eating. They were nice enough and put my new sandwich in a to-go box before I left and didn't charge me for it. However, when I tried to eat it the next day, guess what, the meat in the new sandwich was also uncooked. I don't think I'll bother going there again as long as they have the same chef. It's a beat brewery to visit just for drinks and if you're willing to wait for 3 hours to get a decent meal.
We stopped by with high hopes once we saw the cute atmosphere, beautiful patio, and yummy-sounding menu. Unfortunately, when we received our food it was all cold and not what we were expecting. We ordered barbecue and it came with no sauce and was cold and dry. The service was not attentive and did little to correct the situation. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and would not recommend. We now know why this was the only place that still had reservations on this last minute Saturday night.
Had dinner there a few weekends ago. Less then joyful experience! First we (and other tables) all had to keep our jackets on as it was so cold in there. Next, the food came out lukewarm and we sent it back. Waitress escalated the situation by having an attitude and eventually told us they had enough customers and that they didn’t need our business. Myself and friends with us are all in the hospitality business and found this less than acceptable. I would give NO stars if I could.
Back to the tale of the burned bun - see photo. The server did come by to see if I wanted a new bun after I had eaten 3/4 of my equally charred and over-cooked hamburger. I had had enough, so there was no point in asking for a new bun when I was done eating. Yes, she was nice. There was another server who delivered our meals who asked if everything looked all right immediately after setting it down. I did not inspect the inside. We’ve been coming here for a long time and have generally been pleased. We did notice the cook this night seemed to be focused on something other than cooking. 10% off was insufficient for a ruined meal. We were returning from a trip, tired and hungry or I would have eaten none of it.
Sadly we had a terrible meal here. Our waitress was awesome but the Reuben’s were mostly grissle, the pizzas were thin and overcooked, and the bathrooms smelled atrocious. I hope they were just having a bad night.
On 4/8/2023 I took my out of town sister and her family of 5 to one of our favorites, Grace and Abe’s. Since we were with our family, 4 are under the age of 4, I felt this spot would be best for a quick dinner before we parted ways. We decided to go early (around 4:30pm) to beat any dinner crowd. Once entered we were greeted by the hostess with, “Please sit anywhere!” Looking around there was one other couple upstairs so we took our party of 9 to the corner next to the windows in courtesy of any other customers and to keep our little ones in a confided area. Without help from staff, we pushed two small square tables together to accommodate for our large group, all while smelling the wood fire pizzas cooking and anticipating a lovely pizza dinner! As we were parking strollers, lifting babies into high chairs, and taking coats off a different female staff member from the one who greeted us rushed over and immediately said, “This is prime real estate, you cannot sit here” and made us move with no further explanation. If we were not in a crunch for time and had hungry kids, we would have left immediately. We moved to a large table in the middle of the upstairs eating room that was in the path of any customers walking in and out. As paying customers, we felt a huge sense of not feeling worthy of sitting next to the windows and families with young children aren’t welcomed here. It is disheartening because we love their pizza and their beer and never have had issues before. We are big supporters of local businesses in this region, but no longer feel welcomed at Grace and Abe’s. It shouldn’t matter your status or income level, in a service job you make the customer feel valued.
We had a party of 10 and called ahead they said they could accommodate us. When we arrive they had a table for us downstairs. There were two other tables down there already eating. Ordered a round of drinks and then appetizers and dinners. When it came down to ordering another round of drinks one of us ordered a glass of red wine and it smelled and tasted like vinegar. Our appetizers took over an hour to come out. We recieved a burnt pretzel and cold nachos. Two of entrees came out half an hour later and the rest followed 20 minutes after that. Everything was cold. One of us never even received our meal and there was no explanation for it. We spent close to three hours in the restaurant.
I’m usually not one to complain. I’ve been here 3-5 times and it’s really a mixed bag on service. I will say, the food is generally very good and fresh. The last visit on 6/27/20 really ruined it though and we will not be returning; we ordered some spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer, a burger, and a veggie wrap for lunch. We ordered at 12:25. By 1:10 we still had not received our appetizer or drinks. We finally had to flag down a waitress to even get her to notice us, at which point it took another 10 minute to get all of our food at once. The burger arrived with a visible HAIR in it. Cool, we sent that back, and took another 15 minutes for a replacement. Overall, lunch took about 2 hours and was very underwhelming. I’ve also placed to-go orders from here before, showed up at the determined time, Then had to wait another 45-60 min for PIZZAS to be done. So yeah. Best of luck if you decide to come here make sure you are not in any rush.
My family stopped here for dinner while on a road trip. Atmosphere: At first glance, it's a nice little brew pub with the wood fire pizza oven and brewing equipment in full view. There were a lot of fruit flies swarming around, even though it's winter -- that's a bad sign for the sanitary conditions of the kitchen. Drinks: We ordered a couple glasses of local wines. No complaints there, besides that they were out of stock of the first one I wanted. Food: We ordered the Alfredo fries, salad, and pizzas. The fries were unexpectedly spicy, but otherwise ok. The pizza was pretty good; it's personal-size New York style. However, the tiny amount of meat topping was disappointing, almost like there was none. They didn't have Romaine lettuce for the Caesar salad and the server asked if it was ok to substitute with the "spring mix" greens. That was fine, but when it arrived, it was clear that some of the lettuce was ROTTEN. We notified the server and they gave us a small discount on the salad. Seriously? They serve rotten inedible food and then still charge money for it?! You can see some of the green slime that used to be lettuce in the attached photo. Service: The waiter was very friendly, apart from the salad situation. Overall: The whole family was dissatisfied and would not recommend this place. I just hope no one gets food poisoning.
