1000000/1000000! Everyone working was amazing! Our dog loved her food and her treats! WE loved our food! The atmosphere is a great vibe and Palm House is a MUST VISIT!!
The decor in here is amazing, it’s a place that makes you feel like you are not in a big city! It feels tropical and the vibes are fun, lots of good music and decor is amazing. Food is great, as are drinks, would definitely recommend the pina colada. The drinks are also pretty strong!! We thought the drink price was worth the drink for sure. Some food portions were pretty small, but the prices are good! Service is order over the phone and they deliver food and drinks I am sure they get busy.
Found this place randomly as i was looking for a good place that allowed me to take my dog. At first it was tough as no one greets you as you walk in but things got way better once you get in the know. The staff was very friendly once they noticed we were there. I suggest to walk all the way into the bar area if feeling unsure. You scan menu on your phone and order through your phone and food comes out to you quick. The food was delicious and every thing i tried was good. The drinks were also tasty. The only reason i gave 4 stars on atmosphere is because i was there with my family, including kids, and the vibe seemed more for a younger crowd or if you're trying to hang out with no children. I'll be going back but with no kids ha ha.
Absolutely loved this place! I was looking for dog friendly restaurants to celebrate my birthday and my dog’s 13 and 1/2 birthday and stumbled across this place. The food was so fresh and delicious! All the different cocktails were really cool and very good as well! HIGHLY recommend the coconut shrimp! Originally made a reservation for outdoors thinking that’s the only place they are dog friendly; wrong! We were seated just inside with our puppers and they immediately brought a little water bowl for them too. 🥰 will definitely come back!
Cool Area, and looks amazing outside and inside. Beautiful outside seating under cover so even when it rains you are welcome here. Crab Cake Benedict 5/5 and Bloody Mary 5/5 were to die for! Great service 5/5 friendly atmosphere, and parking was surprisingly easy to find. We meet the woman owner, and her daughter who was so sweet to us. First time coming here and definitely became an instant favorite. Definitely recommend checking this spot out. ❤️
I love coming here on a summer day in San Francisco. The decor is so funky and makes you feel like you're on a tropical vacation. The food is delicious and not your typical fare for the Marina. We came during Restaurant Week and had a three-course meal for $45. Not bad! I ordered the coconut shrimp, jerk chicken, and the malasadas. So delicious. The perfect spot for a celebration!
My husband chose this restaurant randomly and it turned out to be a GREAT choice! The atmosphere was cool and relaxed. The decor was cool and islandy just like the music. The food was really great!! My husband ordered the Crispy Fried Baja Fish Taco. I ordered the Seared Jerk Spice Rubbed Shrimp Tacos. Omg, so delish. Both come with Black Beans and Salsa. They also both come with another sauce or dip. Not sure the name of them, I forgot. But the one that came with the Fish tacos was nice and spicy. I recommend that with ANYTHING you order. The server was great. Very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations of places to visit and see and eat. The manager Ben was a pleasure to meet!! Make sure to wish him happy birthday. It's Sunday the 13th. I HIGHLY recommend Palm House, if not for the food, the great vibes it gives you. FUN FACT: The palm tree in the front of the restaurant is the 2nd oldest palm tree in San Fransico.
We got here about half hour before our reservation, they were very accommodating. Food was delicious, we ordered the bowl cocktail with the ducky but felt it lacked alcohol. Maybe that’s just our taste. The cocktails at the bar were great though! Would definitely go again for the food and cocktails.
This place is definitely a vibe, great spot on Union Street if you’re in the mood for drinks. The cocktails were delicious (loved the piña colada!), but smaller than expected, they do have those giant drinks if you’re going all in. On the food we tried the fried rice and island breakfast, both were solid, but nothing standout. The real draw here is the fun, tropical decor and unique energy that sets it apart from the usual Union Street spots.
May 2025 Cali resto bar along trendy Union St provides three separate areas - semi al fresco, indoor, and a pool room / bar section. Food is a mix of Cali carribean style cuisine much that of the Westcoast vibe and flavours. Lunch service staff was pretty lean but accomidating and prompt. As mentioned the place is very casual. Bright at the entrance and dark in the pool room area. The bar counter is at the mid section. Each section best serves different types of diners and times but overall its more as a social place and bar feel.
I came here with a fellow foodie to try the SF Restaurant Week dinner menu on the weekend. We had a reservation, but they informed us that they had already sold out of the items. Unfortunately, there wasn't an option to reserve spots specifically for the SF Restaurant Week set meal. While we were disappointed that we couldn't try the items on the special menu, we found several other items on their online menu, available via QR code on the table, that sounded good. We tried the brussels sprouts and coconut shrimp as appetizers and got the pineapple fried rice as our main dish to share. All the food was great and priced fairly. What's nice about the online menu is it allows you to request certain ingredients of the dishes be put on the side and even split the check with other dinner guests. This place gets an A+ for service and efficiency. The only issue other than the SF Restaurant Week menu not being available was the high level of noise inside the restaurant. I sometimes had to yell a bit to talk to my friend, so it would've been nice if things were a bit quieter. I think next time I would opt to eat outdoors when it's warmer, as it seems calmer, and the outdoor patio in front of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and gives a vacation vibe.
Really fun spot! Loved the laid-back vibe. They have a pool table too in the back. Service was great and staff was knowledgeable on various vegan options. Got the vegan harvest burger but unfortunately I didn’t really like it as the combination of flavors in the patty didn’t work well together in my opinion. I’ll be back to try other vegan options though!
The vibe of this place is clearly the top selling point, but unfortunately I went on a cold and rainy day so it wasn’t the experience intended. With COVID the doors were open which kept the inside very cold. The food was good, my sister loved it. The drinks were definitely the star of the show for me though. I got the pina colada and she got the private flight. Both were amazing. The Brussels sprouts were also super good! They are spicy which wasn’t indicated on the menu, but was a very welcome surprise.
The food was mid, the mimosa was bad, and the supposedly fresh squeezed orange juice tasted rancid. I sent back the OJ and asked for a new glass which I never received. The one good thing is the pineapple fried rice. The cubano, and both the fried chicken sandwiches were subpar. The fries are decent. And the entire foyer was wet even though it was covered. I get that it’s a dog friendly restaurant with outdoor seating, but that’s no excuse for making people eat on a wet floor. Besides, where will the dogs sit if the floor is wet?
Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: A good option for the area if you want something with a Caribbean flare. The extended review... Food: Lemongrass coconut prawns - 3/5 - Not a bad tasting dish but could always use more shrimp. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 4/5 - A nice ambiance both inside and out.
Palm House SF is a vibrant spot that captures the essence of a tropical getaway right in the heart of the city. My visit here was marked by an indulgence in their delightful champagne flights, perfectly complemented by a generous serving of avocado and house-made chips. The main course followed suit in quality, contributing to a satisfying culinary experience. The restaurant's theme is a standout feature. It strikes a perfect balance between bright, sunny, and fun, without crossing into the realm of being overdone. This cheerful and inviting ambiance makes Palm House SF an ideal venue for brunch with friends or family. The lively atmosphere, coupled with the delicious food and drinks, sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. However, the popularity of Palm House SF means that it gets busy quickly, and securing seating can be a challenge. It's a testament to the quality and appeal of the restaurant, but it does require some planning and patience. One aspect of my experience that stood out was the service. While it was decent overall, I noticed a distinct difference in the attention given to regular customers versus new guests. As a first-time visitor, I felt somewhat sidelined compared to others who seemed to be regulars. This created a slight disparity in the welcoming atmosphere typically expected in such a vibrant and lively place.
I came to visit Palm House ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY when I made the reservation I included that in my request no greeting no happy birthday from the staff (poor customer service #1). Immediately getting there I was excited because the place WAS cute! But the issue was once seated I was told everything was self served so no waiter. When my food came out it was cold and the seasoning on the fries was not there like I ordered and the drink was like juice barely any alcohol taste to it and when I paid for my bill I totally forgot to tip! I’m a huge tipper even the circumstance of having to order my own food and then just bringing it to me. But I was in a rush for my movie date so I left abruptly. Do you know 2 days after leaving SF and going home the charge their own tip to my card when they processed all the bills! I was pissed because not only was the service garbage and the people were stale in energy I was over charged for my meal by them deliberately taking a tip. Terrible experience because I understand me not tipping but it wasn’t my intent but to make my birthday and experience where I can’t trust this establishments professionalism that was too much too bad I will never go back! And the chicken sandwich was MID! nothing spectacular about it just some gentrified kids in the neighborhood over charging for lack luster experience.
