amazing food in a lovely atmosphere, once you place your order the turnaround time for food is very quick. Don't really love the self-serve online ordering system which also requests that you tip in advance,...

One of my favorite restaurants on Union! While they’re known for their punch bowls, the rest of the drink and food menu are standout. Jerk Chicken Sando stands out - it’s big and messy so you could easily split it and cut it in two.

Great vibes. Ideal for sf sunny days, food, and drinks. Fun at night too.

The food is delicious and affordable! It was like going back to 2015 prices (relieving every now and then). The food was delicious and they had a live DJ. Sad we don’t live in the city to go again.

Cool brunch spot with island vibes, 90s music, and plenty of refreshing cocktails to choose from! I ordered the Piña Colada that came in a cute coconut cup and my boyfriend order the Palm House slushy. He added the Passion Fruit flavor (+ $1.00) and the Kraken dark rum float (+ $4.00), making a very boozy refreshing cocktail! We also ordered the Katsu Avocado fries (fried avocados) which were light & delicious.

Palm House is super hip and has delicious food. They have outdoor seating (dog friendly and heat lamps). They label their menu GF and Vegetarian. We shared the guacamole and Brussels sprouts. Both full of flavor, and very addicting. The portions are HUGE! Our table got the chicken sandwich, fajitas, burger, and tacos. Everyone left will full bellies and absolutely satisfied after a long day in SF.

The palm house is such a great time. I took my fiancé and some friends there to get their obnoxious fish bowls, which are wacky delicious and have little rubber duckies in them and a lot of fun. The food there is pretty good too if you want a quick bite to eat if you're primarily gonna be drinking it is also a great vibe good for the daytime too a lot alike. It's in there. They have some nice outdoor seating and also great for the night they have good lighting at night. The vibe is very colorful and the staff is really helpful to the drinks. They are really good. They have a great mixologist behind the bar.

On a hot summer day, this place offers the right drinks and food, 4 flights of champagne with a generous amount of avocado with house-made chips, the main course was good but the wedge salad was very small for the price with some mini tomatoes, besides that, drinks and food were great.

Let me preface by saying I'm not from around here. I ended up in this neighborhood due by happenstance and started walking around for a while, searching for food. I saw the unique exterior of Palm House and it's 40+ foot palm tree and immediately added it to my short list. After walking around a bit more, I made my way back to the cozy eatery. I was greeted promptly by the bar tender, and, being alone, sat at the bar to get some food and a drink. I started by ordering a Palm House Slushy; unfortunately they had just turned the slushy machine off for the night. No worries, he recommended the Southern Vacation cocktail to me and I went with it. This was a fantastic cocktail, meaning that it actually tasted good and was not overpowered by the bourbon within. Whilst I sipped on the Southern Vacation, I ordered two tacos: The People's Taco and Hawaiian BBQ Pork. Fewer than 5 minutes went by when two tacos appeared in front of me. The tacos were a bit smaller than I expected, especially for nearly five dollars each. That said, I'm aware this is not a cheap area and prices will reflect that. Any concerns of price immediately vaporized after my first bite of The People's Taco. This is a BBQ brisket taco in a crunchy fried shell. I ate it too fast to really pay attention to the flavors in much detail - not because I was hungry, necessarily, but because this was the best damn taco I've ever eaten in my life. It definitely had me wishing it were larger. The Hawaiian BBQ Pork taco, a more traditional street style taco, was also excellent, especially with a squeeze of lime on top, though not quite on the same level as the People's with it's crunchy shell. One more drink and another taco, please! I absolutely recommend Palm House to those looking for a place to eat and drink - if the rest of the menu is as good as what I sampled, you won't regret it.

Dope spot for beach party vibes. Had a chicken sandwich with a pineapple slice on it and it was straight🔥🔥🔥 good sauce on it too also really good white cheddar mac n cheese (or whatever kinda cheese it is)

Sunday brunch was awesome. Made a reservation, gets pretty busy. Coconut pancakes were a 10/10. Spicy wings with Coconut ranch also amazing. Unique flavors, great service, will be back.

Cute little outdoor cafe with comfortable chairs and friendly service. Casual vibe. QR code to pay. Reasonable prices for tasty small plates. I would recommend the brussel sprouts. Good place for people watching over breakfast cocktails. Bottomless drip coffee and your own caraffe of water.

We had dinner here on a hoppin' Friday night and even during rush hour they had a table! There's a few different spaces within the restaurant and the energy around the bar is fantastic with the weekend crowd!! Crispy fish tacos won the meal hands-down.. roasted Brussels came in a close second, but beware if you're not ready for a few small jalapeños, they may sneak up on you :) Deviled egg plate was only two egg halves which I haven't seen quite such a small serving of those before; taste-wise, still worth it for the price. And I got a virgin mixed drink that I really liked but my husband didn't so much ... hah ... I really like the slightly sour/salty juices so IMO it was great and BEAUTIFUL.

The decor in here is amazing, it’s a place that makes you feel like you are not in a big city! It feels tropical and the vibes are fun, lots of good music and decor is amazing. Food is great, as are drinks, would definitely recommend the pina colada. The drinks are also pretty strong!! We thought the drink price was worth the drink for sure. Some food portions were pretty small, but the prices are good! Service is order over the phone and they deliver food and drinks I am sure they get busy.

Great Food and Atmosphere! First stop in San Francisco and had a great Pina Colada and Mother Clucker Chicken Sandwich. Free Coffee as well from 12-4, perfect for “WFH”. Totally recommend if you’re looking to relax

Found this place randomly as i was looking for a good place that allowed me to take my dog. At first it was tough as no one greets you as you walk in but things got way better once you get in the know. The staff was very friendly once they noticed we were there. I suggest to walk all the way into the bar area if feeling unsure. You scan menu on your phone and order through your phone and food comes out to you quick. The food was delicious and every thing i tried was good. The drinks were also tasty. The only reason i gave 4 stars on atmosphere is because i was there with my family, including kids, and the vibe seemed more for a younger crowd or if you're trying to hang out with no children. I'll be going back but with no kids ha ha.

Absolutely loved this place! I was looking for dog friendly restaurants to celebrate my birthday and my dog’s 13 and 1/2 birthday and stumbled across this place. The food was so fresh and delicious! All the different cocktails were really cool and very good as well! HIGHLY recommend the coconut shrimp! Originally made a reservation for outdoors thinking that’s the only place they are dog friendly; wrong! We were seated just inside with our puppers and they immediately brought a little water bowl for them too. 🥰 will definitely come back!

Cool Area, and looks amazing outside and inside. Beautiful outside seating under cover so even when it rains you are welcome here. Crab Cake Benedict 5/5 and Bloody Mary 5/5 were to die for! Great service 5/5 friendly atmosphere, and parking was surprisingly easy to find. We meet the woman owner, and her daughter who was so sweet to us. First time coming here and definitely became an instant favorite. Definitely recommend checking this spot out. ❤️

Nice restaurant in Cow Hollow with a tropical theme. The restaurant’s theme is very well done. It’s bright, sunny and fun but doesn’t go overboard. The food and drinks were delicious. My personal favorite was Ahi Poke. It’s a great place for brunch with friends.

I love coming here on a summer day in San Francisco. The decor is so funky and makes you feel like you're on a tropical vacation. The food is delicious and not your typical fare for the Marina. We came during Restaurant Week and had a three-course meal for $45. Not bad! I ordered the coconut shrimp, jerk chicken, and the malasadas. So delicious. The perfect spot for a celebration!

Solid food options! The roasted brussel sprouts were nicely seasoned. The coconut shrimp was really tasty as well. I also tried the mango margarita, which wasn't too strong. The space is airy with a tropical, fun vibe. Would recommend!

My husband chose this restaurant randomly and it turned out to be a GREAT choice! The atmosphere was cool and relaxed. The decor was cool and islandy just like the music. The food was really great!! My husband ordered the Crispy Fried Baja Fish Taco. I ordered the Seared Jerk Spice Rubbed Shrimp Tacos. Omg, so delish. Both come with Black Beans and Salsa. They also both come with another sauce or dip. Not sure the name of them, I forgot. But the one that came with the Fish tacos was nice and spicy. I recommend that with ANYTHING you order. The server was great. Very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations of places to visit and see and eat. The manager Ben was a pleasure to meet!! Make sure to wish him happy birthday. It's Sunday the 13th. I HIGHLY recommend Palm House, if not for the food, the great vibes it gives you. FUN FACT: The palm tree in the front of the restaurant is the 2nd oldest palm tree in San Fransico.

We got here about half hour before our reservation, they were very accommodating. Food was delicious, we ordered the bowl cocktail with the ducky but felt it lacked alcohol. Maybe that’s just our taste. The cocktails at the bar were great though! Would definitely go again for the food and cocktails.

H
Hugo Pelland

Somewhere between good and great, hence the 4 stars. Feels to me that it's kind of place that's crowded mainly because of the popular location, nothing special about the food nor drink and certainly not service, as we experienced an odd mix of super friendly and just plain rude staff...

M
M W

Lovely brunch spot with good appetizers and pretty good sandwich sets! The service was friendly and quick to seat us even though it was packed around lunch on Sunday. The brussels sprouts appetizer was great and I enjoyed the banana peppers in it. I got a Cubano with spiced fries. The Cubano was good, with richly buttered toasty bread but otherwise not all that standout, and the fries were just okay. However the atmosphere was fun and my friend and I enjoyed our time there.

B
Benjamin Greenberg

This has long been a reliable neighborhood spot for a good time. The food is tasty, and sometimes pretty creative, but the price is high for what you get. The drinks though, top notch. I love their Old Cuban and their blended rum drinks. The decor and vibe are a big part of the draw here. You walk in and feel like you're in another city in a warmer climate. The main problem I have with Palm House is the layout: it's hard to get past the bar to the back when it's crowded. All the tables near the bar end up feeling cramped, and it gets *really* loud. There are better restaurants in the neighborhood, and there are probably better bars too, but I still like to go to Palm House for the experience. I love it despite its flaws.

Very good food, dessert but just slightly pricy

J

We came with a big group for brunch. I had the avocado Benedict, which was good but not super flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were also fine, not the best. They took a while with our drinks and ended up getting drinks after the food. I enjoyed the Palm 75. Nice decor and seating for a big group, and the service was overall nice and efficient .

Great spot for groups to get good drinks and delicious food. We raved over the sweet potato fries (and its Thai basil aioli sauce) and tuna poke taquitos. If you're primarily looking for cocktails, aim for their happy hour!

Great place for drinks and appetizers. Not a huge menu if you expect Caribbean food though. This is more like a bar than a restaurant. They offer really tasty cocktails, my favorite was southern vacation! Also have good plantain appetizers with guacamole. It was quite loud indoors, try to find seats outside if you're looking for cozy.

A
Alyssa Powell

We booked a reservation thinking it was a Dinner Spot...I’m glad we didn’t go hungry because The food is NOT good. BUT the atmosphere, and the service was great. The manager was super friendly, music was on point and the drinks were good! Don’t go here for the food, just go to have a good time.

J

Great fries and good chicken and steak fajitas. The fajitas - while $20 - are not huge. You would be very hungry splitting 2 fajita orders among three people. Nice place to go with friends.

K
Krystel Alston

Heard some good things so decided to try while we were in town. We sat in the covered area outside. Unfortunately we were next to the computer where the wait staff puts in their order, which means several butts were in my face throughout the meal...NOT FUN, but not worth it to ask to move, also the chairs were uncomfortable! We had a couple of their cocktails, which seemed to be experimenting with a bunch of random flavors and liquors, but they were very good. We shared the smashed avocado and brussel sprouts, both were DELICIOUS! I had the wedge salad with grilled chicken (I ordered fried chicken), the chicken was decently seasoned and the dressing was tasty, but there wasn't enough for the salad. I also had the Creamy Corn Cheese which was DELIGHTFUL!! I should have gotten some togo!! My friend had the kalbi beef short ribs. She said they were ok but tasted boiled. The mac salad had an overpowering vinegar taste. My other friend had the jerk chicken which she said was tasty and was a half chicken so lots of leftovers. Our waiter was super nice, was very attentive. Couple hiccups, but overall a nice experience. Would definitely go back.

First time dining here. Food is good but I think it could have been better... Great vibe and I loved the drinks!!

A
Andrea Pltr

We had a really good time here for dinner with cocktails and chicken burgers 🍔 Staff was really friendly and we liked the heated “covered outdoor area” in front of the restaurant were the music was less loud if you want to just talk and eat 🥰 The portions could have been a bit bigger especially for the loaded fries and the cocktails had too much ice

M
Makenzi Brown

So the real reason I love this place is because of the rubber duckies in the punch bowl hah. I like all the drinks. They make some really fun slushies too. The food is good, not amazing. I like brunch better than dinner. I would come here on the weekend for brunch or drinks!

C
Carly Pisarri

This place was super yummy! Very cute inside and chill. We went on Sunday at 12 and it was pretty packed. Food was so delicious. The service was on the slow side and they forgot abt us a few times

K

Came here on 3 separate occasions and enjoyed the easy dining experience. I don't necessarily come here for the food (which is good) but come here for the open availability, cute decor, and friendly service. Brunch is delicious and good portions. Was disappointed they ran out of the roasted banana milk mocha. Lunch - sandwiches are huge and filling. Cocktail hour is very fun. Good selection of beachy cocktails and group drinks. The parklets aren't as decorative but they're just fine. The interior decor is a colorful vibe.

A beach 🏖️ style restaurant on the Union Street. The design of the restaurant stands out, buy somehow well blended in, especially the outside-seating area, makes you feel relaxed We ordered their Palm House Smash Burger, it was such a juicy and cheesy burger 🍔 for a summer 🌞 afternoon in San Francisco uptown.

S
Suni Suresh

This place is located in the union street. They serve very good cocktails but the food they serve is okayish, wouldn’t recommend this place for food but definitely would recommend this place for food and also this place is open till 2am which is convenient on Saturday night. My favorite cocktail had to be crispy air and highly recommend it.

M
Madison DW

Cute restaurant with friendly staff. My boyfriend and I got the avocado smash, fries, and 5 coconut shrimp as appetizers, the jerk chicken as an entree, and two non-alcoholic drinks for $99. I was a little disappointed because even though we placed our order before 6pm they did not give us happy hour prices on the appetizers. Also, I get that it’s Union Street but the price was such that I don’t think we would come back except for a special occasion.

S
Surbhi Verma

[Ambiance] Moved to this neighborhood recently and was looking forward to exploring the weekend scene. Just a casual walk on union street and this seemed to be most happening spot on Union street. The reason? Fancy tropical like vibes for outdoor seating living upto its name and lots of goreous lights. It seemed pretty busy but they had an indoor table available right away, we were a party of three and wanted to wait for outdoor seating which took about 20 minutes. The hostess was super friendly and cheerful and texted us when the table was ready. [Drinks] The drinks were AMAZING! Tried their special chipotle mango margarita with a spicy rum and it was yummm! As a mezcal and spice lover, couldn't pass on the other highlight from the menu which was Paradise Cantina. It has mezcal and the right flavors of jalapeno. [Food] For the food, being a vegetarian, I ordered the sweet potato fries with the veggie fajitas which was shared between two of us and the portion was pretty reasonable. Overall limited vegetarian options on the menu. The fajitas came with a side of rice, beans and sauces and the dish was pretty average, I felt that the veggies were too dry, and should have a little saucy. The rice and beans weren't as fresh as well. The sweet potato fries were BOMB, and highly recommend trying for the right amount of crisp and soft and flavor. I would probably go again just for the fries and drinks. [Covid guidelines] Staff wears masks, menu is scanned on phones through a QR code which is great. I don't think the tables were too far apart though.

A
Adamo Stivala

It’s a nice place overall, the food is average but good quality. Nice to meet friends for casual occasions but nothing remarkable to come back for.

This place is definitely a vibe, great spot on Union Street if you’re in the mood for drinks. The cocktails were delicious (loved the piña colada!), but smaller than expected, they do have those giant drinks if you’re going all in. On the food we tried the fried rice and island breakfast, both were solid, but nothing standout. The real draw here is the fun, tropical decor and unique energy that sets it apart from the usual Union Street spots.

May 2025 Cali resto bar along trendy Union St provides three separate areas - semi al fresco, indoor, and a pool room / bar section. Food is a mix of Cali carribean style cuisine much that of the Westcoast vibe and flavours. Lunch service staff was pretty lean but accomidating and prompt. As mentioned the place is very casual. Bright at the entrance and dark in the pool room area. The bar counter is at the mid section. Each section best serves different types of diners and times but overall its more as a social place and bar feel.

I came here with a fellow foodie to try the SF Restaurant Week dinner menu on the weekend. We had a reservation, but they informed us that they had already sold out of the items. Unfortunately, there wasn't an option to reserve spots specifically for the SF Restaurant Week set meal. While we were disappointed that we couldn't try the items on the special menu, we found several other items on their online menu, available via QR code on the table, that sounded good. We tried the brussels sprouts and coconut shrimp as appetizers and got the pineapple fried rice as our main dish to share. All the food was great and priced fairly. What's nice about the online menu is it allows you to request certain ingredients of the dishes be put on the side and even split the check with other dinner guests. This place gets an A+ for service and efficiency. The only issue other than the SF Restaurant Week menu not being available was the high level of noise inside the restaurant. I sometimes had to yell a bit to talk to my friend, so it would've been nice if things were a bit quieter. I think next time I would opt to eat outdoors when it's warmer, as it seems calmer, and the outdoor patio in front of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and gives a vacation vibe.

Really fun spot! Loved the laid-back vibe. They have a pool table too in the back. Service was great and staff was knowledgeable on various vegan options. Got the vegan harvest burger but unfortunately I didn’t really like it as the combination of flavors in the patty didn’t work well together in my opinion. I’ll be back to try other vegan options though!

The vibe of this place is clearly the top selling point, but unfortunately I went on a cold and rainy day so it wasn’t the experience intended. With COVID the doors were open which kept the inside very cold. The food was good, my sister loved it. The drinks were definitely the star of the show for me though. I got the pina colada and she got the private flight. Both were amazing. The Brussels sprouts were also super good! They are spicy which wasn’t indicated on the menu, but was a very welcome surprise.

Do you have obnoxious coworkers or politically questionable family members who you cant stand to hear speak? Is conscious thought too much to bear? Look no further than Palm House, the hottest brunch spot that wishes it was a club. At the palm house, you can pretend you heard what someone said and go, "Haha, totally." All kidding aside, the food and drinks are very good(Get the burger) and if you get a seat as far away from the interior as possible it's not so bad, literally try to be as close to the sidewalk as possible. We sat in the second furthest dining area from the bar and it was still incredibly loud. Also, a man clearly ordered the chairs as they are not accommodating of a curvaceous female figure, in the sense that even a medium booty cannot fit. Our server quickly accommodated our request to move to a table with a bench.

e
enigma Ajj

Service is great here, waiter and manager who approached us were friendly and informative. However quality of food is lacking. Our group ordered te fajita special, and we weren't impressed. It was not that special imho. We would go back for the happy hour but as far as dining we might go somewhere else next time.

L

Iffy service... I placed my name on waitlist and asked for outdoor dining (I was ok with a 1hr wait). They called me in for indoor dining (30 mins wait)... Since I traveled all the way to the place, I settled for indoor dining (I was 10 mins drive away shopping since I expected the 1hr wait). I didn't know weekends only served Brunch, not Lunch, during typical lunch hours... And because of that, they didn't serve the 2021 SF Restaurant Week lunch menu... I even called in asking about their SF Restaurant Week menu and their staff didn't even mention that that menu wasn't served on the weekends. That would have saved me the trip! [e] from my visit 8 months ago, updating my review from 1 to 3 stars. The restaurant had provided some complimentary Avocado Smash and drinks from our initial bad experience so we decided to visit for dinner since we were in the area. The Avocado Smash was great and would recommend it. We didn't realize how large the portions were and got two! The Crispy Fried Baja Fish Tacos was ok - because we didn't realize it was really spicy... We also had the palmade which was good.

Well, three stars only because two of my dear friends love this place and they did have yummy drinks as well. I was extremely unhappy with the way the security let us into the bar. The old security guy was extremely rude and was questioning me as if I was going through an immigration process. Anyway...I thought to myself “forget it, I’m sure the inside is better” but all I found was disappointment. The place seemed darker than usual, it was like a restaurant turned into the “after hours”. People were on their seats dancing and stuff, which was fun to watch but the music wasn’t helping either. They played all old songs, the ones which us 90s kids have deliberately forgotten. My highlight of the night was the crowd, who were very drunk but poised haha :p I am definitely going back here, I want to give them a second chance and maybe rewrite this review.

Ok so to be honest I thought this was a cafe version of the Palm court, it is not. That said they did offer some tasty offerings. I found the prices for the portion sizes a lil high. This place seems to be better advertised as a party bar with tiki style group drink bowls (also pricey). So if you just wanna see the game and have some drinks with more than a couple friends this is your place. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. The day we went it was just the kitchen staff n bar tender so it took a bit of patience so heads up, maybe call ahead n see or sit at the bar like we did.

Don’t let the menu fool you! This is all style no substance. The service is good and the atmosphere is decent, but the food was decidedly subpar. Oversalted , and feels weighed down. Was not cooked with love. You can do much better in SF.

The overall price paid here was on the high end for what we got in terms of flavor and portion size.

I've been here previously for brunch and dinner, but unfortunately this last visit did not live up to expectations. We visited for a weekday lunch. It was pretty quiet so they let us choose our table (they have outdoor parklet seating as well as indoor seating). Unfortunately the lunch menu doesn't include their pineapple fried rice, which I'm a huge fan of. I ordered a lunch bowl with tofu and a pina colada and my friend ordered the tradewinds burger and a palmade. My bowl was tasty but tiny! A couple pieces of tofu along with a handful of greens tossed in some sauce. The pina colada didn't come topped with a flower as it has in the past (a small thing but I was sad to see it missing). My friend thought the burger was fine but her drink was extremely sour.

They didn't have their signature taco available, which was a bummer. Tried the Ahi Torta (not impressed), spicy fries were decent, poke stuffed avocado was EXCELLENT (wanted more than half an avocado for $17), jerk chicken tacos were GOOD (would order again), vegetable imperial rolls were pretty good. Not as good as I wanted it to be, but ambience is great, sitting outside on a sunny day was great. 3 stars for the food, perhaps 4 stars if I had gotten their signature taco? Price was 3 stars: 2 apps, 2 tacos, sandwich with fries and 2 non-alcoholic drinks for $91. Ambience 5 stars.

Decent spot, with charming decor. Food was good, but not something I’d go out of my way for. I would perhaps go again, because a few things on their menu sounded unique, but there are other spots I’m more eager to try first. Service was friendly. Bit strange they charge you for the flavored ketchup that comes with the fries, but it’s only .50 cents (though it’s such a small amount I had to ask for more, which I was charged for as well). Fried chicken sandwich was good, but you gotta love teriyaki flavor because there’s ALOT of their version of that sauce on it.

The food was mid, the mimosa was bad, and the supposedly fresh squeezed orange juice tasted rancid. I sent back the OJ and asked for a new glass which I never received. The one good thing is the pineapple fried rice. The cubano, and both the fried chicken sandwiches were subpar. The fries are decent. And the entire foyer was wet even though it was covered. I get that it’s a dog friendly restaurant with outdoor seating, but that’s no excuse for making people eat on a wet floor. Besides, where will the dogs sit if the floor is wet?

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: A good option for the area if you want something with a Caribbean flare. The extended review... Food: Lemongrass coconut prawns - 3/5 - Not a bad tasting dish but could always use more shrimp. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 4/5 - A nice ambiance both inside and out.

Palm House SF is a vibrant spot that captures the essence of a tropical getaway right in the heart of the city. My visit here was marked by an indulgence in their delightful champagne flights, perfectly complemented by a generous serving of avocado and house-made chips. The main course followed suit in quality, contributing to a satisfying culinary experience. The restaurant's theme is a standout feature. It strikes a perfect balance between bright, sunny, and fun, without crossing into the realm of being overdone. This cheerful and inviting ambiance makes Palm House SF an ideal venue for brunch with friends or family. The lively atmosphere, coupled with the delicious food and drinks, sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. However, the popularity of Palm House SF means that it gets busy quickly, and securing seating can be a challenge. It's a testament to the quality and appeal of the restaurant, but it does require some planning and patience. One aspect of my experience that stood out was the service. While it was decent overall, I noticed a distinct difference in the attention given to regular customers versus new guests. As a first-time visitor, I felt somewhat sidelined compared to others who seemed to be regulars. This created a slight disparity in the welcoming atmosphere typically expected in such a vibrant and lively place.

Waited about 45 min for a couple of drinks despite a mostly empty restaurant and a bartender that after 25 min of waiting gave a not so reassuring “yea I’ll have them right out”

$14 for the worst margarita I’ve ever had. Bad enough for me not to even order food. Service was very mediocre too. Won’t be back

Not impressed at all but this is a cute spot, especially if you have a dog! I went for brunch and sat outside on the patio because the weather was nice. Everything is by QR code, you order and pay digitally. You don’t have a server, no one really checks in on you. They will bring out items pretty fast, I do like that! You have to wave down someone anytime you need something else. We weren’t even given or offered water. We weren’t told that we were supposed to get our own and the water station had dirty cups and half filled water bottles. So for the table, we ordered fries, coconut shrimp, poke taquitos, mac n cheese and a hot chicken sandwich. We also tried the hot sauce on some stuff, it isn’t even hot! It was watery with no flavor. The taquitos were my fav thing but it wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever had. I just really love poke. Everything else was just really no spectacular. Where is the flavor in everything? All the food looked delicious but wow so disappointed. Even the drinks weren’t that great. I was so excited for the espressotini and it tasted watered down as well. Most likely will never come back. Not a single thing was anything to write home about.

Cool place, nice skylight, probably a great place to get drunk, but the food was cold! And all the meat is small and chopped up, and most likely poor quality meat. We asked the people sitting next to us and they said their food was "ehh lukewarm." Service was terrible. Took about 5 minutes to get acknowledged and about 15 minutes before the waitress took our order. She never came back the whole time to check on us or the food, never refilled the flask of water, and had the audacity to stand close with her arms crossed waiting for us to pay right after she brought the bill, not even saying anything, just awkwardly standing there waiting for us to get our wallets out. Salad was good and sauces were decent. That's about it. Definitely not coming back.

Cute, nice small bites and happy hour deals… but you will be incredibly uncomfortable the entire time, the chairs are so narrow, any hips or booty that aren’t tiny will be pinched and in pain. If you are remotely curvaceous just don’t come because they clearly don’t want you there :/ (I just knooooow some thoughtless narrow hipped male owner/manager ordered those chairs. Whats with f&b and higher ups that don’t even attempt to get a second opinion before making bad choices on serving ware and decor)

I went here before for a birthday party, but this time I came here with a friend around 4 pm for drinks and snacks. When I went inside, it was unbearably loud and it was really difficult to hear the hostess. They were only serving a limited menu and immediately sat us outside, without offering to sit inside. It was cramped outside and the server kept having to squeeze through everyone. It took a long time to get served. We ordered 3 spam musubi, smashed avocado dip, tropic thunder, and best of both beaches. Our drinks were pretty small and had a lot of ice, something my group had noticed last time with our punch bowl. They tasted good, not too strong. The spam musubi was pretty bland. The brown fried rice did not taste good at all. The sauce on top looked really nice, but didn't even taste like anything. The avocado dip was good, but they gave so little chips. We asked for more and turns out they costed extra, but the server didn't tell us. While the presentation of everything was nice, I was not impressed with it. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with this place. While I came last time, I knew it was an expensive brunch place with nice drinks. Based on my latest experience, I would not come back again for the overpriced bland food and small, full-of-ice drinks.

It’s been awhile since I last ate at Palm House. My colleagues from other locations were coming for a statewide conference here in the city, and it just so happens to be SF Restaurant Week. The menu looked good so after showing it to my colleagues, we decided to have dinner there. Well, looks like there was some miscommunication. The waitress said that the kitchen found out last minute about the restaurant participating at restaurant week and so they ran out of many of the items on the restaurant week menu, so they stopped serving it…. I appreciate the waitress apologizing on behalf of the restaurant and promoting the menu so we can come back later on in the week. Well, the conference ends on Tuesday afternoon, so unfortunately my colleagues won’t be able to make it as plans for dinner for the time here have been set. So we ordered off the regular menu. I got the Luau Bowl with teriyaki chicken. It was okay. The teriyaki sauce was more on the sweet side, which is fine, and on the thicker side. Chicken was a little dry. The edamame and pineapple didn’t have much flavor. I enjoyed the salad. I did eat almost the entire plate as I was hungry. I also ordered chips and dip to share and that was pretty good. The chips were very crunchy and the dip was nice and oniony. Menus are now available when scanning a QR code and you can easily split the bill. This helps since we’re here on business and we can easily pay for our own portions and get reimbursed accordingly. But since the menus are online, we didn’t get much service, aside from finding out they stopped the restaurant week menu. No one checked on us to see how we were doing. I like the tropical vibes of the Palm House. It would’ve been nice to sit on the patio to dine al fresco, especially because it got so noisy inside from just one party celebrating a birthday. But it was chilly and they hadn’t turned on the heat lamps. Plus, the bartender said we can choose from one of the three tables, so we just sat there. Whenever I pass by the Palm House during brunch hours, the place is always packed. Considering I had a mediocre experience for the two times I’ve dined here for dinner on a restaurant week, I should probably try their brunch on a regular day. A lot of my friends ask me for restaurant recs, and I’m a bit embarrassed for recommending this place out of the many menus I looked through for restaurant week. I was hoping things have changed since the last time I ate here years ago, also during a restaurant week. Restaurant week is supposed to showcase the restaurant and a chance to get more regular customers. I had a mediocre experience the last time 9 years ago, and unfortunately I had to delete that review to make room for this one. I’m disappointed I had a mediocre experience again. But maybe brunch is their forte.

Sadly everything we had (both food and drinks) felt like they were just placed together with no culinary approach to creating a good final product. - The pineapple fried rice was blander than what I (as a basic white man) could have likely made at home - The carribean coffee’s had no substance to them, desperately needing cream to add some texture. The flavor was just alcoholic strong coffee. That said, the vibe there is amazing and is great for just hanging out. The staff was also very friendly, just the food is live up to our expectations.

I came to visit Palm House ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY when I made the reservation I included that in my request no greeting no happy birthday from the staff (poor customer service #1). Immediately getting there I was excited because the place WAS cute! But the issue was once seated I was told everything was self served so no waiter. When my food came out it was cold and the seasoning on the fries was not there like I ordered and the drink was like juice barely any alcohol taste to it and when I paid for my bill I totally forgot to tip! I’m a huge tipper even the circumstance of having to order my own food and then just bringing it to me. But I was in a rush for my movie date so I left abruptly. Do you know 2 days after leaving SF and going home the charge their own tip to my card when they processed all the bills! I was pissed because not only was the service garbage and the people were stale in energy I was over charged for my meal by them deliberately taking a tip. Terrible experience because I understand me not tipping but it wasn’t my intent but to make my birthday and experience where I can’t trust this establishments professionalism that was too much too bad I will never go back! And the chicken sandwich was MID! nothing spectacular about it just some gentrified kids in the neighborhood over charging for lack luster experience.

They contacted me and invited me to eat there as a social media influencer. And then they kept dropping the ball and ran me around in circles for over a month and then said forget it. Complete waste of time. Just beware if they contact you.

Worst bar ever, no ins n outs and absolutely garbage DJ for 40 dollar cover.

I made a reservation for only three for my birthday dinner two weeks in advance because I know they get busy, only to get told they had no tables available because they got busy. I was so confused because that is the entire point of a reservation, so that you have a table ready for that specific party. They then sat my party and I at a table for two people where one of my guest were sitting on the sidewalk and getting trampled by pedestrians. A large party came in and took a photograph with the host at the stand and then got seated immediately. Unless you know the host you will not get a table, even with a reservation. Horrible experience and I will not be returning.

A surprising failure...at first seems like a cool inviting place, we were the only customers there! The host/bartender/waiter (hopefully not owner), Tim, was nice at first, welcoming and helpful, sadly this didn’t last. Once he realized we weren’t interested in entrees, no matter how much he pitched the menu...the guy switched up his demeanor. Plus, what seemed to be his high school pals came in and Tim just did not want to work any longer, his only customers became an inconvenience now. He wouldn’t come around the bar to give us the bill, nor would he come over to collect the bill nor return it after charging my card. Maybe my spending $100 on junk wasn’t enough for him. The guy even refused to acknowledge us whatsoever as we left, despite my polite and generous “thanks.” *Retraining is needed* As for the food, mediocre at best. The fish tacos had that fishy stench, not good. And mostly all the tables were sticky from the night(s) before, so ask for extra coasters for your phone and elbows. One star for the exceptional IPA on draft.

The place is beautiful but indoor is terribly loud, very hard to speak because of the music. The service very very slow and the food was not good at all. I had a piña colada and fried rice. The Piña colada consistency was very bad and the fried rice was not tasty. I would not recommend this place
